Papá a Toda Madre, Episode 25, 2/19/2018: Let Sleeping (and Dead) Dogs Lie? I Don’t Think So!

Mau goes to see Loopy. He didn’t go there to talk or argue; he just wants to know exactly how much money Renée owes him because Mau will pay it. Loopy responds that is something between him and Renée. Mau states that is why he wants to pay; he just wants Loopy to stop bothering Renée. When Mau again asks for the amount. Loopy smirks and comments that Renée is now selling herself so easily. Mau stops him and tells Loopy what Loopy had just said, “It’s something between her and me.” Loopy continues to criticize Renée since she pretends to be such a feminist and so independent yet she is letting “Juniorcito” pay her bills. When he tells Mau that Renée is just a gold digger, Mau tells him to shut his mouth and stop saying stupidities and to just tell him that measly amount Renée owes him. (Listen up Dogbreath, this may be your best shot at actually gettin’ your paws on that money)

Back at his office, Mau wonders where he is going to get that much money…50,000 pesos! Fabian doesn’t know why he is so worried; he can just ask his little girlfriend since she says that she has money galore. Mau couldn’t ask Kika…that would tarnish his image. When Mau looks at Fabian, Fabian tells him not to even think about it…he has no money; they are both in the same boat. Mau tells him to look…even in the petty cash box. Fabian tells him he can’t…Mau was used to being the boss and asking for money at a whim, but those times are gone. After Fabian exits, Mau keeps wondering where he will get the money. He picks up a toy and wonders if he could get 50,000 pesos for it…but doubts It.
At San Martin Foundation, Renée knows that new places can cause nervousness, but assures Sonia that she can take care of Carlitos. Sonia is very grateful and cries that sometimes she feels that all the doors are closing for her. Renée reassures her that all will be well; she will send Sonia her address and asks if Carlitos is at school now. Sonia responds that he is at school and will be out in a couple of hours; she is not sure how long the hearing will be. When she tells Renée that she hopes it won’t last too long so she can go pick up Carlitos at Renée’s house, Renée tells her not to worry; after the class is over, she will take Carlitos to Mau’s house and they will take care of him.
Mau is at a pawn shop trying to sell his toys. When the man doesn’t offer Mau what he wants, Mau tries to convince him that it is for a good cause…to help a princess out of a problem; so the man asks if he doesn’t have something else of value as he gapes at Mau’s watch. Mau doesn’t want to sell the watch since it is a gift from his family, but when the man asks if he is desperate, Mau frowns.
At San Martin Foundation, Renée is teaching her class how to use a screw driver. After Anifer asks if she can fix her appliance and Renée gives her the screwdriver, Renée gets a call from Loopy who wants her to admit that she is going out with Mauricio…she can’t deny that she is seeing Mau because she is interested in his money.  (Renee…Phone App Store…Ignore  List App...Free.) Renée will not allow him to speak to her that way and has no idea what he is talking about. When she asks if he is drunk and wonders why he is saying those things to her, Loopy tells her that Mau just paid him the 50,000 pesos she owed him. Renée doesn’t know how that could be since Mau didn’t even know she owed Loopy money…she never told him anything. Loopy tells her not to act dumb; if she prefers to owe Mau rather than him, it’s her problem. He only wanted his money so he could go far away.  (She thinks, how far, mongrel, like at least another continent..?) After Loopy hangs up on her, Renée wonders who could have told Mau, but as she turns and looks at Anifer, (the bulb flickers to life and) she knows who it was.
At Mau’s office, Fabián tells Kika that she is just not understanding. When Fabián suggests that the father should look like an action figure and the mother should look like a Barbie, Kika argues that is NOT what they should look like. After she asks Mau what he thinks, Mau tries to explain that both Fabián and Kika had made good points. When Fabián continue to argue his point, Mau tells Fabián to “take it easy;” the designers can figure it out. Fabián scowls, “Sure, let everyone else figure it out! Everyone else can solve our problems, of course!” After Kika walks out to answer her monstrosity of a phone, Mau wonders what Fabián had for breakfast since he is so riled up. Fabián thinks Kika is talking nonsense. He knows Mau has something going with her, but Fabián doesn’t trust her. Mau doesn’t think their relationship should matter; what’s important is what Kika is willing to invest in the company. When Fabián retorts that Kika hasn’t put in one peso yet, Mau doesn’t argue.
At Mau’s house, Renée is explaining to Anifer that Carlitos is much smaller than she is; and he doesn’t talk very much or play with anyone that Anifer knows. When Anifer asks if Carlitos is sick, Renée responds that he isn’t sick; he is different and what he has is called autism. Many people think it’s an illness, but it isn’t and they shouldn’t treat him as if he were ill. Anifer wonders if he will play with her; and Renée thinks they can always try. As Renée is about to ask Anifer if she told Mau anything, Sonia arrives with Carlitos. Sonia has to leave right away since the court is quite a distance away, so Anifer asks Carlitos if he wants to play, but he just walks away. Sonia explains that Carlitos will not look at them directly and prefers to play alone, but he is calm and if he went directly to play, it’s because he feels comfortable. After Sonia leaves, Anifer goes to Carlitos who is repeating something, but she can’t figure out what he is saying.

At the apartment, Jorge tells Baldo and Lili that he understands that they won’t like entering a new school at mid-term and with people they don’t know; so he is considering using the “open system” (? Home schooling??) They wouldn’t have a schedule and they would not have to attend a school. When Baldo thinks that it’ll leave the door open for him, he would prefer to get a job, but Jorge then tells him to forget what he said; they will just concentrate on their studies. Lili wonders, if Jorge isn’t going to introduce them to his other kids and he wants them to be open schooled, why he doesn’t just let them go back to Tijuana. Baldo agrees that Jorge should let them go back, but Jorge refuses and tells them he made a promise to their mother; he is a man of his word and he will honor it. Baldo tells him to stop with the theatrics. When he asks Jorge if he is now wanting to spend time with them, Jorge assures him that he does, but things will not be the way they want them to be for now; they will have to wait. After Jorge leaves, Lili notices a folder he left behind with information on the Family Day at the San Borjas School.
[Mexican Version: At Mau’s house, Renée and Anifer continue to figure out what Carlitos is saying. Anifer suggests that they call his mother, but Renée doesn’t want to bother her since Sonia is busy…she would rather that they try to figure out what Carlitos wants on their own. Renée repeats Carlitos’s utterances “ícula école,” and she and Anifer wonder what it could mean.]

At Veronica’s house, Tonto tries calling Veronica, but the call goes to voicemail. After he gets a text from Veronica telling him that she is in a meeting and not to be so persistent, he asks Carola if she wants a piece of chocolate...and gives her the whole bar (Idiot! Good-bye, Carola…).
At Mau’s house, Renée and Anifer are still trying to figure out what Carlitos wants; so Renée gets an idea and goes for her robot and talks to him through the robot which gets a response from Carlitos, but he still continues to repeat “ícula école.” Renée eventually figures out that he is saying “película” and “Hércules” (Hercules movie), so she goes to her laptop and starts searching until she finds the animated movie. Anifer and Renée “high five’ their success, but Renée comments that he talked to the robot, not with them. She then wonders if she could do something with the robot to help understand children with autism, but Anifer tells her she can think about it later. They take the laptop to Carlitos and are happy to see that the movie gets his attention.

At Logatoys, Mau explains that he only wanted to help Renée;  Fabián should know that he has a knight-errant complex. Fabián disagrees because Mau has NEVER helped out a woman. When he asks where Mau got the money, Mau shows him his bare wrist. Fabián is miffed that Mau hasn’t learned and is pawning what little he has for what he doesn’t have. Mau justifies that it was just a few pesos, but Fabián wonders if Mau thinks that paying for Renée mastery program is also a few pesos. Fabián reminds Mau that Renée doesn’t even work there anymore and questions why Logatoys should pay for her schooling. Mau acknowledges that he messed up but asks that Fabián give him a chance; the new products will revivify them…they will even raise the Titanic from the sea. Fabián is not amused and chides Mau for spending money without thinking and relying on his crazy toys that may not even work. Mau defends his toys that represent the new changes in life and are avant-guard, but Fabián insists that they are just as stupid as the ones that left them in ruins. Fabián wonders how the toys have changed; then mocks that the new toys were designed by Mau’s daughter, a seven-year-old…and the compnay will rise! After Fabián tells Mau that he is tired and fed up, Mau wonders what is really going on with Fabián because he has never talked to him in such a way…and lately he has been acting very, VERY strange. (Mau, next time Kika is crawling all over you, see if Fab is the color of your lawn...Hmmm)
At Mau’s house, Sonia tells Carlitos to return the robot, but Anifer tells her that he should keep it since she and Renée gave it to him as a present. Sonia thanks both of them and tells them that what they did for her today means a lot to her. When Sonia adds that Renée will be a great mother someday, Anifer agrees. After Sonia and Carlitos leave, Anifer asks Renée if she likes babies…she already asked Mauricio and he said he didn’t like them because they cry too much. Renée avoids the question but tells Anifer that she needs to talk to her father and she doesn’t want to wait until he gets home; so they both go to Logatoys.
At Veronica’s house, Toño asks Carola if she wants popcorn as he plays Solitaire. When she doesn’t respond, he goes to look for her and finds her lying on her side; so he throws a popcorn at her; and when she still doesn’t respond, Toño’s jaw drops.
At Logatoys, Renée and Anifer arrive looking for Mauricio, but Gladys tells Renée that he is busy with Fabián. When Gladys offers to interrupt them, Renée tells her she needs to talk to him alone for about five minutes and asks if she can look after Anifer. Gladys agrees since she doesn’t think she has a choice. After Renée walks away, Anifer asks Gladys if she missed her; so Gladys sarcastically responds, “Yes, of course. And you, did you miss me?” After Anifer responds that she missed her VERY much, Kika walks in and greets Anifer telling her to give her a kiss, but Anifer doesn’t want to. Kika grabs Anifer, kisses her on both cheeks and tells her that is how she should greet people, so Anifer makes a face and wipes off Kika’s kisses.

Inside Mau’s office, Fabián tells Mau that if he needs to apologize he will do so, but he thought they could discuss anything. Mau responds that they can always discuss anything; what worries him is when they argue and Fabián yells at him and can’t put up with him. Fabián explains that he can put up with Mau; what he can’t put up with are his lies. After Fabián continues that Mau wants his girlfriend to get him out of a predicament, just like he attempted to do with Miranda, Renée walks in and asks if she is interrupting; so Fabián tells her that he and Mau are finished and leaves. When Mau asks for Anifer, Renée tells him she is with Gladys. Renée will bring in Anifer in a while, but before she does, she has something important to talk about. She asks Mau why he paid her debt to Lupe. (Since you two have an armistice, truce, agreement?)
Outside the office, Kika tells Anifer that she knows Anifer doesn’t like her. When Kika uses her unique vocabulary to tell Anifer that Anifer doesn’t know her well and that she likes children, Anifer comments that Kika talks very strange. After Kika tells Anifer where she is from, she asks where Anifer’s mother is from, where she is, if she is as pretty as Anifer and where they used to live; so Anifer tells her they lived in the jungle…where there were monkeys on trees, huge snakes and hairy spiders like the one on her! Kika starts yelling and squirming around looking for the spider as Anifer laughs and Gladys jumps over her desk and starts to swat Kika.

Once they finally stop, Kika scowls that it was all a joke made up by this devil (as she points to Anifer).  Once she realizes that she lost it, Kika says, “Oops” and tweaks Anifer’s cheek so Anifer slaps her hand…again.  (Anifer needs a purse-sized pepper spray)
Outside the neighborhood, Toño carries Carola wrapped in a blanket like a baby and goes to Rafael’s house. He knocks on the door and calls out to Rafael that the dog is sick and needs a vet…or maybe a priest…or grave digger. When no one answers, he goes to bury Carola in the garden and thinks that she at least died doing what she liked best…eating. He asks for her forgiveness and tells her they will never forget her. (Um…can you two just swap places?)
Baldo and Lili arrive at the San Borjas School, but Lili doesn’t think it was a good idea that they go there…plus they spent part of the money Jorge gave them on the taxi. Baldo doesn’t seem to be worried and comments that they can always ask Jorge for more money. After he remarks that it’s a bummer that Jorge has enough money to have his other kids in a private school while they attended a poor one in Tijuana; he adds that it’s time their father paid for his absence in their lives and all the lies he has told. (Now we are all on the same page)
At Logatoys, Mau asks Renée why she can’t believe that he is capable of doing something just to help her. When he asks why she thinks he has a twisted or hidden motive or if he is that bad, Renée replies that she doesn’t think he is bad; if she did, she wouldn’t be living with him…or rather, agree to be the nanny. Renée just doesn’t think that he paid off her debt out of the kindness of his heart; she thinks he did it to oblige her to take care of Anifer since he now has this tall, curvaceous, long-haired girlfriend. Mau wonders what he did to make her believe that he is useless and incapable of doing a noble deed in his life. (Maybe what you DIDN'T do!) He just wanted to help her; he didn’t like that she was being threatened by that sucker. As he slowly walks closer to her, Mau continues, “He doesn’t deserve you. You are an incredible woman…a super woman, intelligent…a warrior…nice and I want you to be alright. That’s why I did what I did.” They ramble back and forth the way they usually do (hereinafter known as Ren-MaumboJumbo) until Renée thanks him.
At San Borjas School, Lili comments that it is a very big school and worries that they won’t be able to find their half-siblings, but Baldo thinks that all they have to do is wait for Jorge to come pick up his kids. Lili thinks that they can just go in and ask since there shouldn’t be too many with the last name, Turrubiartes. Baldo, however, thinks that someone will go spread the word that they were there; their intent is that no one suspect that they have already found Jorge’s “official” kids. When Lili suggests that Jorge might not come pick up the kids and they might wait there all day long uselessly, Baldo wonders if she really thinks Jorge would allow his kids to go home alone...they are probably spoiled kids whose parents are always taking them everywhere. He reminds Lili that Jorge told them that the mother doesn’t live with them so Jorge is probably coming for them. Lili dreads the long wait, so Baldo leads her away…
At Logatoys, Mau is still standing very close to Renée as he tells her it’s not a big deal. What he gave Lupe is what he would spend on buying outfits, wallets, bracelets, shoes, sunglasses…he would spend a lot. When Renée glares at him, Mau tells her he was just kidding. She should know that when he opens his mouth, stupid things come out. Renée then remarks that however it may have been, Mau has taken a big weight off her shoulders; now she owes him which is quite different. What Mau doesn’t understand is why Renée didn’t tell him that she owed her ex; had it not been for Anifer, he would never have found out. Renée wonders if Anifer told him everything, but then rambles that it doesn’t matter because after all Anifer is just a child with a lot of imagination and she probably made things up. When Renée asks if Anifer told him anything else, Mau wonders if there is something Anifer should have told him; so Renée replies that it’s nothing he needs to know. After she smiles, Mau tells her she should smile more often...she looks precious...that’s exactly what he wanted to say. She looks precious. Renée blushes as she tells Mau that it because he looks at her with those eyes; that’s why she can’t stop smiling. Mau wonders if he is talking to her or if there is someone behind him, so Renée assures him there is no one else there. They start their Ren-MaumboJumbo until Mau tells her that it’s her bright, white teeth that reflect on his eyes.

In the hallway, Anifer and Kika talk about spiders. Anifer is not scared of them, but Kika hates them (as she sees them as competition). Kika thinks Anifer is lucky they don’t live in a different time period because a stunt like that would have resulted in a spanking.
As Mau and Renée continue their gibberish, Kika walks in so they separate quickly. Mau goes to jump on the trampoline while Renée lowers her head trying to hide. Kika notes the tension and asks if something is going on. Mau and Renée simultaneously tell her there is nothing going on and she didn’t interrupt anything important. Mau assures her they were only talking about Anifer…about life. When Renée adds that they were talking about the designs Anifer made, Mau agrees and states that without Anifer, none of this would be possible. Kika then wonders why they are making so many excuses since no one asked for an explanation. When she questions Mau because he had said the designs were his, Mau explains that they were his designs, and maybe not…he came up with the original designs, but Anifer made adjustments here and there. Kika is bewildered that she will be investing millions in Anifer’s designs. As she tweaks Anifer’s cheek once again, Anifer slaps her hand…once again. Kika thinks it’s so nice…Anifer hasn’t studied or learned; and she came up with the designs just like that; so Anifer tells her that her father told her that she inherited the skill. Renée then interrupts and tells Mau that she also came to let him know that the school director can meet with him today at the school where the Barrientos kids attend. Mau, however, is up to his ears in work and wonders if Renée can take her, but Renée responds that she can’t; it is HIS responsibility. When she tells him that he needs to take Anifer, Kika offers to go with them; so Renée starts babbling that in that case she will go too. It’s important that the father take Anifer. If he takes Anifer on his own, she (Renée) doesn’t need to go, but if Kika goes then she should go too. (Some convoluted reverse circular polar discombobulated logic which only engineers understand.) After Kika states that if the “cachifa” goes, she won’t go, Renée tells her that the “cachifa” is not going; it is her, Renée, the friend, that is going…not Kika’s friend, Mau’s friend. Kika then announces that she will go too and emphasizes that she is Mau’s girlfriend. Mau interrupts and tells them that while they come to an agreement, he will continue his jumping.
At San Borjas School, Baldo and Lili continue to wait outside until they see Jorge drive up and pick up Valentina and Samuel. After they guess that Valentina is about 14-15 years old and Samuel is about 13, they comment on how young they are.
At the new school, the director comments that everything they have said about Anifer is incredible and they are very happy that she wants to come to this school. She also tells them how nice it is that the entire family has come with her. She assumes Mau is the father, but when she assumes that Renée is the mother, Kika quickly blurts out that she certainly is not…Renée is the “cachifa” or as they say locally, the “chacha” (maid/nanny). The director then assumes that Kika is the mother; and when Kika starts to tell her who she is, Mau chimes in that she is his financial associate, but Kika adds and emphasizes that she is Mau’s girlfriend. Mau remarks that they are a beautiful family, but the director doesn’t look convinced…

[Mexican Version: In front of Nerón’s repair shop, Flor worries about how long the shop will be closed and where they will get the money to pay the fine. Nerón plans to find a job. He will contact some of his buddies and work at whatever. When Pablo states that he will also look for a job and give them part of what he makes, Flor tells them she will also work (another example of a quirky term: Flor uses “tambor” which actually means drum instead of “también” which means “also”…go figure!)…she is expecting a call for another job. Pablo plans to look for a job as a loader for merchants…maybe he can cross the border soon. Flor worries that it could be dangerous and is scared for Pablo.] Pablo then wonders if Jorge found out anything about his father, but Nerón doesn’t think so and tells Pablo he shouldn’t cross the border; he has no money.
At the school, the director tries to figure out who is whom. From what they have told her, she deduces that neither Kika nor Renée are Anifer’s mother; so Anifer suggests that they call her mother to ask if she likes this school for her. The director thinks it is a good idea, but Mau tells her that Anifer’s mother is not available because she is working. The director acknowledges that she somewhat understands who is whom and tells Anifer that, at that school, they accept everyone no matter where they come from or if the family consists of a nanny, an associate, and a missing mother. Mau immediately interjects that he is the ravishingly handsome father. The director then emphasizes that the important thing is that Anifer enroll in the school immediately, but on a probationary basis…everyone will then be happy. Kika agrees, then suggests that they leave Anifer there. They can drop off Renée at the nearest bus station; then she (Kika) and Mau can go have lunch together. When the director tells them that school is almost over for the day and it would be precipitous to leave Anifer there, Kika says she is kidding and, as she tweaks Anifer’s cheek, adds that she knows they can’t leave Anifer there all by herself…it’ll be good that they can spend the day together. Anifer, however, ignores her and tells Mau that they should leave.

Outside the school, Toño tells the kids not to worry; Carola will be fine. After Tania asks why they didn’t wait so that they could say good-bye, Neto adds that Toño shouldn’t have allowed them to take her. As Toño is about to add to his lie, Anifer and the three non-amigos come out; so Toño asks Mau if he liked the school that his little monsters attend. Mau sarcastically responds that not all kids end up well; some have much to overcome because of the home they come from. Tanya then asks Anifer is she will be enrolling in the school; because if she does, she will love it. Anifer responds that she will be on probation, but this school is prettier than the other one. When Anifer asks for their dog, Tania explains that her father told them that a very nice boy adopted her…and he needed her more than they did. Toño then adds that they have to look at the bright side; Carola went to a big ranch with lots of space where she can run (and where she can push up daisies). He goes on to explain that the little dog was with them temporarily. After he tells them that the neighbor was putting Carola up for adoption, he doesn’t know how to end the lie so he blurts out, “Who wants a lollipop?” As the kids run off, Toño stands and turns to Mau who is smirking; so Toño asks, “What now?” Mau replies, “Nice strategy to calm them down; bribing them with lollipops. I’m making a note of that!” As Mau turns to Renée, Renée chides him for butting into something that doesn’t concern him. As they continue their RenMaumbo-Jumbo, Toño gets his things and slips away.
[Mexican Version: Baldo and Lili enter their apartment and are greeted by Jorge who wants to know where they were. Lili tells him that Baldo went with her to the pharmacy because she needed some things.] Baldo questions why Jorge is upset or if they are his prisoners; so Jorge responds that, of course, they aren’t his prisoners, but he wonders why they have a cellphone if they aren’t going to use it; he called them several times and they never answered. Baldo then questions since when Jorge is so concerned about where they go, but Jorge retorts that he has always been aware of what they do. Baldo thinks that is strange because during the time they lived in Tijuana, he can’t remember Jorge ever calling them directly.
Once back in the neighborhood, Mau asks Kika if she is sure she doesn’t want to stay. When he tells her he can send off Anifer and Renée to the theater, Kika wrinkles her nose and tells him she is tired and has had enough of being among the middle class; she is a business woman and has things to tend to. As she kisses him good-bye, Renée watches and is not pleased…

Once they part lips, Kika tells Mau good-bye; and as she displays her “M” necklace, Anifer recognizes it and is shocked. Once Kika leaves, Mau turns to face the disparaging duo…

Renée then asks Anifer if she is upset; she has been very quiet since they left the school. When Mau asks Anifer if she liked her new school, Anifer shrugs and goes to see her plant, so Mau motions Renée to come closer to him and asks if Toño’s kids were bothering Anifer again. When Renée tells him that can’t be the reason since the kids are now friends, she adds that she doesn’t know what is wrong with Anifer so Mau should go talk to her and find out. Mau thinks he is no Sherlock Holmes; Anifer needs to tell him because he doesn’t know how to find out what’s wrong with her. Renée responds that there are ways; he needs to play with her and communicate with Anifer…meanwhile Renée will go make dinner. After Renée leaves, Mau goes over to sit with Anifer and asks what they should play, but Anifer sadly tells him that her plant is dying. When Mau tells her it looks as ugly as ever, Anifer scowls, so Mau suggests that they plant it in the ground…with worms and all. (Maybe with Carola?)
Down the street, Rafael tells Toño that he doesn’t understand why Toño gave up to dog for adoption. There has to be some accountability …finding out who the people are and getting their information so that they can contact them. Toño didn’t know anything about that; it seemed like an easy thing to do since those people saw Carola and fell in love with her. When Rafael asks where those people came from, Toño replies that they were from beyond the neighborhood…he didn’t know them. He then makes up his story…he brought the dog out to do her business and the people just appeared…with their four children…and he just didn’t have the heart to tell them “no.” Rafael still doesn’t understand how Toño could have given the dog to complete strangers instead of keeping her since his children were so happy with her. Toño repeats that he didn’t have the heart to tell them “no;” his children have everything and the other kids don’t…and since Rafael had told him that they were only to keep the dog temporarily, he figured he’d just agree to the adoption. When Neto tells Rafael that Fidelito was very sad, Rafael assures him that he will get them another pet, but asks Toño not to give it to anyone else. Toño assures him he won’t give it away…and mumbles that he won’t give it chocolate.
Mau tells Anifer that they will now plant her Chiapaneca plant and emphasizes that his delicate hands are going to get full of dirt just for her…but then tells her to go get some gloves for him. Once inside, as Renée tries to find out what is bothering Anifer, she notices that Anifer is holding an “M” necklace like the one Kika was wearing. Anifer tells her that it was her mother’s…her father gave it to her; and her mother gave it to Anifer when she came looking for her father. When Anifer tells her that Miranda also had a necklace like it, Renée thinks it must be very significant for her father. Renée then assumes that Anifer is upset because of Kika; so Anifer admits that she doesn’t like to see Kika with her father…she can’t stand her ("me cae gorda!"). Renée comments that it could be just a fling...it might not be anything serious, but when Anifer wonders if they might get married, Renée is speechless.
Outside, Mau holds up a worm and comments about the things he has to do in his life as a farmer. As he starts digging the hole, Toño goes to throw out the trash and sees him; so Toño freaks out and tells him to stop, but Mau continues until he sees the blanket. After he sees the dog, he glares at Toño as they hear the children nearby and Rafael approaches them…(TN coincidences are the best!)

Thank You Ms. RGVChik. Very nice. Your screen captures are the best too. I forced myself to forgo the OFIS Olympic Frantic Ice Sweeping sometimes understandably called Curdling??? to watch this epic episode.

I mean, never a dull moment. I feel bad for Anifer's cheeks, too much pinching, Kika's not enough spanking. BAD Girl, Bad !

Next episode should be interesting to see how Toro explains how aliens abducted and mutilated the family dog.

I have to wonder how Anifer plans on orchestrating getting M&R in bed together.

YIKES Pumpkin time

OMG is it true? The Russian Curling team is suspected of using 'performance enhancing substances'?

What's that gonna be, Turtle Wax Carnuba Gold?

Thank you, RgvChick! Excellent as always!

I was enjoying Carola more than some of the characters. “Um . . . Can you two just swap places?” ITA
It was funny when Mauricio dug her up.

Kirby, “Turtle Wax Carnuba Gold”! That was a good one.

RgvChickie, thank you for another fine recap, you helped me make sense of a lot that had gone over my head. For instance, just about anything that Baldo and Lili said. Maybe I need to get used to them because, amazingly enough, I actually did understand some of what Bad Girl Kika said.

Things are really heating up between Renee and Mau, and it's about time. Every time they do a close up of Renee, the better she looks. Good thing she doesn't know how many of those 'M' necklaces there are in circulation.

Poor Carola! I thought this was going to be a chance for the vet to save Toño's dog (and bacon). But no, poor Carola, bad Toño!

Kirby: yep!

RgvChick, your title was the best!

Chickie, I was out !ast night and missed the show , so I appreciate the recap and screen caps.

Gotta run...later , gators. Out into the fog now. It is going up to 70 today. Usual high for this time of the year here is 45. Where am I ?

Agree the title was marvelous Rgvchick.

I am continually impressed with your astute details and smart, savvy style. The recap was excellent.

"He only wanted his money so he could go far away. (She thinks, how far, mongrel, like at least another continent..?)" and "monstrosity of a phone" were my favorites.

Did Carola really need to die to prove Tono is an idiot??

I agree Jarifa, Carola was one of the best characters here.

Mau does have a heart and I'm enjoying watching a very gradual change in him. I am enjoying he and Renee together and I thought Anifer was funny wiping off Kika's unwanted kisses.

I thought Carlitos' scenes were well done. What a sweet kid.

RgvChick, thank you for your time and effort which showed in every sparkling word of your recap!

Whoa...this very Earnest Comedy is now on message about autism, in addition to everything else. Plus important information on what NOT to feed dogs. Thought it was common knowledge about the danger to canines from chocolate, but I guess not. Up until now, I thought Toño was a likable dunce, but killing a dog through lack of knowledge, and then lying about the death is NOT funny. Hardly in the same class as sweeping crumbs under the rug.

Methinks we need to start a drinking game any time someone says Me cae gorda, me caes gorda, me caes gordo...well, you get the idea. And eventually they will probably put in a message about alcohol and AA anyway. They've hit just about everything else.

Enjoyed your Ren-MaumboJumbo, the joke about Kika and spider competition,(some convoluted reverse polar discombobulated logic only engineers understand) and (Mau, next time Kika is crawling all over you, see if Fab is the color of your lawn...Hmmm)

Jealousy has indeed reared its ugly head on two corners. Don't know why Fabian is jealous though, he's gotten a lot further with Kika than Mauricio has. Oh well.

D'you think Jorge's Tijuana kids will decide to show up when Jorge gives his talk on family values at the school and "out" him? That's sure a possibility now that they know where the school is, and who their half-siblings are. Lots of drama to come I'm sure.

Thanks for another sparkling, sassy recap Rgv Chick. Enjoyed it.

And thanks for that riveting photo of the curling stone Kirby. I'll be a-quiver with excitement all day just thinking about it.

Riveting? A-Quiver, now Judy? My my.

After this episode I feel like someone is going back over my ABCs and basic addition and subtraction with me. Agree Judy, I was wondering last night which character they will now need to show succumbing to the evils of alcohol, and we HAVE to have another one smoking weed and a gambler. Shish

Olympicwise, the figure skating after our Papa was pretty good. I care little about the actual skating, as they seldom drop her even after flipping her into the air spinning like a slab of pizza dough. But except for the brother/sister pair, it is fun to watch and try to figure out which ones are sleeping with each other and which ones are not because the guy must be gay.

So is there anyone on the patio in defense of Toro? Maybe that other one or the Anon who wanted to dock Cynthia's pay will show back up as his defender. I'll betcha Vero is not going to be terribly torn up about the doggy, as it was destroying what shred of her life and home was left to begin with.

That curling stone was a live shot ! My camera flatly RE-fused at first, only acquiescing after I agreed to take full responsibility for the end result. I thought I was going to have to sign a waiver.

Happy Tuesday

Kirby: Those kids crack me up.

Judy: Renee looks like a motherly figure to Anifer.

Anon: Who's the girl with the gold thing wrapped on her forehead ?

I do hopeo the Tijuana Kids cook up some clever scheme to help Jorge do what he needs to do. Old Jorgy Boy has a lot farther down to go before he starts back up.
Susy, is it fArther or fUrther?

The Tijuana kids are pretty close, and will make a good pair to plot against Jorge.

So does anybody actually LIKE Kika except this unseen sister and Mau, a little? Fabian can't possibly, given what he knows. That's not to say he isn't jealous. He, like almost any man would love to help her get those clothes off, but that has nothing to do with LIKING. That is just the low hanging fruit.

Renee is on the 'Can't Lose' angle, a close healthy relationship with Mau's daughter, Anifer. If those three could form a cohesive team, with Anifer designing toys, Renee implementing those designs, and Mauricio selling the whole shindig, they would be unstoppable. Like, "Kika Who?" Spider girl. Kids are so observant. Anifer has everybody's number. Everybody. For the first ten or so years they are just a very dry information sponge. They absorb every drop. Careful what you spill.

Gold thing? Wrong show.

Diana: ' Anifer was funny wiping off Kika's unwanted kisses.' Well, did you also see at one point in front of Mau's house, Kika insisted on putting a big gagging slurpy liplock on him, and HE had to wipe too? We need to fix up a toiletpaper holder that she can wear.

Judy, yes, Tono WAS a likeable dunce. Now? A bottom feeder.

Kirby, no, I must have missed that Kika slurpee. :) There is a God...

And, Tono is dead to me.

Diana

Good Morning! and Thank you everyone for your kind reviews and ever-impressive insight and thoughts.

Jarifa, “I was enjoying Carola more than some of the characters.” Me too! And I’m with Diana; they didn’t have to kill off a defenseless dog just to show what an idiot Toño is. And, seriously, who would think to bury a dog in someone else’s flowerbed? Well, I suppose only a dimwit like Toño.

Andy, “Things are really heating up between Renee and Mau,” and Diana, “Mau does have a heart and I'm enjoying watching a very gradual change in him. I am enjoying he and Renee together” Things are really heating up between them. I do like the chemistry between them and how the writers are gradually having them realize what they feel for each other. I think Renée will realize it sooner that Mau, though, since Mau probably has never really had a serious relationship with anyone. It may take that riveting curling stone to wake Mau up! WHAAAACK!!

JudyB, “I thought Toño was a likable dunce, but killing a dog through lack of knowledge, and then lying about the death is NOT funny.” ITA, but then these writers seem to be hitting on several serious issues and trying fit them into a comedy. If I had to write a review on this TN, I think that is one thing I would definitely pound on.

JudyB, “D'you think Jorge's Tijuana kids will decide to show up when Jorge gives his talk on family values at the school and "out" him? That's sure a possibility now that they know where the school is, and who their half-siblings are.” OMGosh, JudyB, if they did that, it would be disastrous. Calling Jorge out on his lie in front of his kids is one thing, but in front of a whole audience…WOW that would really spread sh** all over!

Kirby, “I do hopeo the Tijuana Kids cook up some clever scheme to help Jorge do what he needs to do. Old Jorgy Boy has a lot farther down to go before he starts back up.” I would ask for possible scenarios on how this is going to play out, but the TN is moving so quickly, we probably would even get a chance to think about it…though JudyB already came up with a really good zinger.

Kirby, “So does anybody actually LIKE Kika except this unseen sister and Mau, a little?” I don’t think Mau likes her. He keeps avoiding calling her his “girlfriend.” Kika has to be saying it for him…with much emphasis.

Steve, I think the woman in the gold headband that you are referring to is the director/principal of the school where Anifer will be attending school. My first thought when I saw her was, “Oh geesh, another Sofía-style character! Could they be related?

That should be "we probably would even get a chance to think about it"

Oh and Kirby, your persistence in getting us these amazing shots is admirable. You stood for hours waiting for that shot of the eagle and now you have to practically sign a contract with your camera to get it to comply! THANK YOU!!

Kirby, the USA curling men’s team won over the Canadians. Just saw the highlights. From what I heard, There is still plenty of curling action out there to be caught live!

Diana, Kika is starting to wear thin. I was glad Anifer was wiping off the “kisses”.

JudyB, the autism PSA was well done. I would love for the Tijuana twins to show up and make their existence known to everyone.

Andy, I wonder how many “M” necklaces Mauricio has. Did he order 10, 25, 100 (feeling optimistic?)

:-) RGV.

.Oh shoot, now that you mention it, the gold headband. Yeah, the Hippie Chick/Too late, Woodstock is Over/School Principal. At least now we know which character will be in the 'Smoking Weed is Bad' PSA. :-)

Dammit, talk about extreme ends of the spectrum for Anifer's school.

Jarifa: ' order 10, 25, 100 (feeling optimistic?' Well, I wonder exactly how you qualified for one? I mean, was it like the McDonalds Drive Thru, where every ticket gets at least a Diet Coke? Or something more cerebral that involved the ability to count?

Yikes, brain running, fingers walking.

Jarifa. Yes we will be having a serious chat with Mr. Nikon and his hundred and two dials and buttons before the Curl-off airs.

After Carola, I am happy to show that both the Eagle chicks are still alive. 'Siblicide' is common in Eagle chicks as well as many others, but is seen more in areas where food is scarce. Sometimes the first hatched, or stronger of the chicks will kill the weaker one to leave more food for itself. It is more rare here in Florida because, I presume, of the abundant food supply.

One of these that I photograph almost daily is far more aggressive than the other, and I had not seen the smaller one in a few days and was concerned. But in this shot on the right side, partially obscured by some twigs #2 is alive and well.

Whew.

Thank you RGV Chick! I missed the part where Tono gave Carola the chocolate and couldn't figure out why she died so suddenly. But I wondered about that because he said something like "Oh she didn't eat chocolate" which sounded funny. So thank you for being the person who filled in my blanks. When its not my recapping day, sometimes I'm doing other things when the TV is on and life just interrupts. Who is dumb enough to not know to give a dog chocolate? And to bury the poor dog in the flower bed? Did he ever think that decomposition might be a problem? Tono has to be dumbest character in this TN How can Veronica, who is smart, want to be married to him?

Kika and Anifer were funny. I loved Anifer and Gladys tag teaming together against Kika. I really laughted at that. But by golly, Kika needs to stop pinching Ani's cheeks. What an annoyance she is.

Thanks again RGV Chick. Oh and I loved your title and screenshots. Great job!

Just lost a comment. Here I go again.

I have taught in several schools, but the directors never wore gold lame headbands and off the shoulder blouses. I guess this is supposed to be a. Visual clues that this is a hippy dippy school as compared to the uptight out of sight school that just ejected Ani.

#auntiemame

I have had enough of Tono's carelessness and stupidity. Whom will he harm next?...one of the kids?...please no.

Ani can see right through Kika's charms. may is starting to appreciate Renee's charms...pretty, smart, good with kids, kind-hearted.

Cannot wait to harass my Canadian soninlaw with the USA curling win.

Cynthia, the chocolate feeding was interesting: Toño didn’t give Carola just a piece of chocolate. He gave her a whole bar.

Jarifa, I am going to have to re-watch the episode on Univision's website. I didn't know it was a whole bar of chocolate! Poor Carola was poisoned by Tono, how sad. What's more, he goes and lies about the whole thing.

Sure looked that way to me but I don’t think he was aware of it being poisonous to her.

" Canadian soninlaw with the USA curling win"

Yeah, that is something right up there with the introduction of Loritos.
Shout it from the rooftops.

"Renee's charms...pretty, smart, good with kids, kind-hearted." And she shaves her legs. A positive for an engineer chick. Nobody wants to sleep with a Christmas tree.

Kirby..yes, good advice which I received at the age of 13 from Ralph the boy who sat in front of me in most classes. P.s. At the time though, it was not well received by me. #shutupralph

USA USA USA. #winning

:-)

:-) :-)

Jarifa, yes, the idiot gave the whole chocolate bare to Carola. When he was talking to her, he asked if she wanted a piece of chocolate, but when he opened the packaging, he broke the chocolate bar in half and gave her both pieces.

Kirby, glad to hear that the two eagle chicks are accounted for. It's amazing how we worry about animals even if they are not our own. Just goes to show how caring and kind-hearted you are :-)

chocolate bare?? chocalate bear? Noooo, chocolate BAR!

You know anonymous, if you could read, you wouldn't be on the internet saying things like this. All I said was just a joke, and that if they WERE gay I'd forget about trying to figure out if they were sleeping with their partners.

Go pick on somebody who gives a shit about what you think

Kirby, that's a really impressive shot of that eagle. I love the way the feathers at the wing tips are all separated and extended. I don't know what that does for the eagle's flight, but I'm sure it serves a purpose. When it comes to engineering, it's hard to top Mother Nature.

Kirby, I was hoping not, but it appears that Anon 2:51 lives under a bridge, if you know what I mean.

Yes, Jarifa, I thought Tono (only) patially unwrapped (genius move in and of itslf :)) the chocolate bar and then put it on the floor...

'Siblicide'. Sigh. Nature is so beautiful and yet so heartbreaking. But, I'll join RgvChick and the rest of our gang in being happy both chicks are alive Kirby and from what I'm seeing on your glorious avatars, thriving!

Kids are so perceptive aren't they Susanlynn? I'm sure you could write a book.

Diana

Thanks.
Andy those 'Finger' looking feathers out at the ends of the wings serve a similar purpose to the winglets you see on some airplanes. The winglets are the small verticle protrusion on the very end of the wing which points straight up. It captures some of the lift which otherwise would roll off the end of the wing and be wasted.

Eagles are pretty smart and the ones which live around humans figure out fairly quickly that we can't fly and are less than adept at tree climbing too, and so are no real threat to them. They will not come too close, but just seem to consider us to be a curious nuisance.

The trick in photographing birds in flight is to keep them in the camera's field of view which is pretty narrow compared to what wee see with the naked eye, and to follow them with the lens as they streak overhead. I get a lot of parts, missing wings, heads, tails, you know. But I really prefer taking pictures which require some participation on my part. Anybody can take a picture of a bird sitting on a limb. And if you are running around looking up through the camera, you are not looking down at where your feet are going.
#fallunderthecamera

Kirby, you are too funny: "So is there anyone on the patio in defense of Toro? Maybe that other one or the Anon who wanted to dock Cynthia's pay will show back up as his defender. I'll betcha Vero is not going to be terribly torn up about the doggy, as it was destroying what shred of her life and home was left to begin with."

Yeah we recappers should have our pay docked. Just give me half pay. .5 X 0.00 = 0.00

As for Tono, he's one of the DUMBEST TN characters I've ever seen. No wonder employers laughed at him when he applied for jobs. What did Veronica see in him? He would be more respectable as a clown.

Kirby, thanks for the double explanation. I say double because I didn't know about the eagle feathers or the winglets either. And I had recently seen planes with winglets and wondered a bit about them. I don't remember where I saw them, but probably pictures at Wikipedia on their main page, which I like to visit every once in a while.

I was thinking about Ms Kika, and her plans on Mau. I am not sure how bright the girl is. If she wants to see him ruined, she might need do nothing. His life is a ghost of it's former glamour. With or without her help he is near the bottom, so I'm not sure what else she has in store for Mau.

And how much of her own money is she willing to spend for a dubious return? Thus far she has not coughed up any money or sex, so except for her travel and other incidental expenses, she is out very little so far.

I'm not convinced she has the mental horsepower to do Mau a lot of harm, as her main weapons seem to be her looks and seduction. But Mau has a couple of pretty sharp girls in his corner who are on to her, and when push comes to shove, will probably play as dirty as Kika does.

And she has Falcon to deal with. It appears she and Falcon are NOT team mates, unless that hooha the other day was just for show and Falcon is on her payroll, and she is the one he was talking about when he met Juan Perez at the restaurant.

Cynthia, funny. Yeah, Toro is the poster boy for abject stupidity. Our story didn't start far enough ago for us to see if he has ever accomplished anything of note, as he is supposed to be a systems engineer or something skilled. But all we have seen thus far is just a waste of air and food.

I presume they (writers) are painting this picture so we can marvel at the miraculous turn-around brought about in Toro by, WHAT? The third coming? I can see no plausible way for this clown to be redeemed.

What is maddening about Toro is that he shows no remorse for anything, and instead, just tries to cover his transgressions with further malice and lies. Where is a good Danilo when you need one? I miss him.

And Toro, is his whole resume made up or did he once have a career and a job where he contributed? He doesn't come across as competent in any way, except for miraculously keeping Veronica from murdering him and FedExing his carcass to Mogadishu.

What I think (and no I don't know) is that Veronica is going to get so upset because of Tono doing some really stupid thing, she will throw him out of the house. Maybe Rafa and Rod will take him in. Wouldn't that be funny?

It is 91 degrees a week after Valentines Day. Speaking of that Third Coming, I'm gonna straighten up and fly right just in case. #endtimeweather

Those two are pretty persnickity about things, as we saw when they were negotiating some decorating issues after they moved in. Toro would last about 3....2....1...

Raf would stick him with a dog tranquilizer and put him out there with Carol.

"doing some really stupid thing, she will throw him out of the house" ? ? ? Is there anything left?

Kirby, but maybe Rafa and Rod could teach Tono a thing or two??? It's just a thought. ;)

It's pretty cold here in Los Angeles. It was 40 degrees when I woke up this morning. Not used to hearing my heat kick on so much. Something about an arctic cold front. Is this end times weather? LOL!

Went up to 70 today here. Wait? What? It will not last.

Cold in LA, snow melting in PA, Daffodils are blooming in Ohio, raining in NY, and heat wave in Fl.

And the troll is back

RGV Chick: Thank you for clearing it up on the woman with the gold headband on her forehead. I'm also interested to see if she is related to Anifer.
