Papá a toda madre Wednesday 3/21/18 Capítulo 46: Kika's Long Goodbye--OR--How Do You Keep Them Down on the Farm After They've Seen Paris?

We pick up with Fabián still in the car with Falcón. The long and the short of it: Fabián tells Falcón he has made one too many mistakes so he needs to disappear. Falcón thinks that his disappearance will just cause more suspicions and people will think he is a fraud. Fabián informs him that he will take care of things from here on out even Mauricio's penchant for investigating. Falcón was right about one thing though: he is an enormous old fraud.

Renée and Mauricio are all lovey dovey at his place. Will she? Won't she? Should she just go home? Maybe? After Mauricio checks on Anifer, they high-tail it to his bedroom.

Jorge is telling Kika, in the presence of Valentina, that he does not know what she is doing in his house. She says it is always the same old story with him. She came looking for her passport that she must have left behind. Much to Kika’s surprise, he tells her that he does not want her in his house and that he considers her a bad influence on his children especially Valentina. He starts to direct her to the door by the arm. She removes her arm and stays put. Nobody has ever offended her like this. Valentina pleads with him not to be so embarrassing. Kika cannot believe how strict and oppressive he is. His little girl needs her freedom. Jorge thinks that she can only say that because she has no children. He tries to lead her to the door again. If they find the passport, he will bring it to her. Kika tells Valentina that she knows how to contact her for anything. She tries to say goodbye to Samuel and Baldo who are totally engrossed in their video game. Finally she leaves saying goodbye to “Georgie boy.” Jorge suddenly realizes he hasn’t seen Lili. Valentina has not seen her either. He orders Valentina upstairs to wash off the makeup on her face. The boys are still in their video game world and have not seen Lili in a while. Jorge is feeling like everything happens to him.

Verónica is sitting “helping” Ernesto with his homework. It is not going too well. He complains that when she watches him he just cannot do it. He complains about having too much homework. As they continue trying to work, Jorge calls that he couldn’t get the paints for Ernesto. The store was closed. Verónica tells him he left it go until the last minute since he was having coffee with his "girlfriends." They are both beyond aggravated with each other.

Catching up with Mauricio and Renée, they are still kissing as they enter his room and suddenly his phone rings. Renée tells him to answer it. He doesn’t want to but so he throws his phone to the side as he gets her on the bed and does not realize it is on speaker. Kika’s voice fills the room. Renée has extricated herself from Mauricio’s embrace as Kika tells him she wants to talk. He insists that they have said all they need to say to each other. Well, for her it is real important that they see each other for one last time. She needs to formally "close the circle" (get closure) for their story. She insists she won’t do anything bad to him. She will meet him whenever he chooses. He says he is busy but finally gives in saying they will talk and see each other. That does not go over well with Renée who is standing wagging her finger back and forth in disapproval and saying no. Mauricio accuses her of being jealous and adds that he thought that Kika was back in Miami chasing crocodiles down Calle Ocho (8th St.) (hub of Cuban community there). With a look of absolute disgust, Renée tells him he doesn’t have to explain any of his business to her because really they are nothing to each other. That takes the winds out of Mauricio’s sails. He starts to talk but cannot. Renée says his silence has told her everything; there is nothing to say. She leaves him all alone and silent in his room.

Flor is talking about Pablo and Lili. Nerón is all depressed. He is thinking about his baby. He hopes that Flor tells her how much she loved her and that she grows up to be a fine young lady like her mother. Flor says he doesn’t have to talk like that. It is going to be a long time before he is gone. He goes on saying he hopes Milady finds a good guy who loves her, who takes care of her, who respects her. She has her brothers to defend her. By now, Flor has had enough and doesn’t want to hear anymore. She is ready to start screaming. She repeats that he has a good long time before he is going anywhere. He answers that you never know. Maybe death is real close to him knocking on the door. Just at that instant somebody is knocking on their door. They both jump and Nerón does not want to open it. Flor finally does and it is an enraged Jorge who gets in Nerón’s face asking where that "undocumented Indian" and Lili are. Nerón makes it clear that they are not in his house. He told Pablo to go stay at the tire shop to keep him away from Jorge and Lili. Jorge hopes he is right because if not, he is going to get angry and nobody is going to like that.

When Jorge leaves, he runs into Lili coming home and accuses her about being with that "Guatemalan." She says she has been at the library. He does not believe her. She does not care if he believes her or not. He warns her not to see that "Indian" again because if she does, he will see to it that he is deported. Lili cannot take his racism and his thinking that some people are deserving and that others are not. She stomps off into the house leaving Jorge yelling after her. Rodrigo happens to be out and asks Jorge if everything is okay. Jorge ignores him and goes inside his house.

Unfortunately, the conversation continues the next day at school when Lili sees Jorge leaving the school. He tells her that he had some business there to take care of and needed to talk to the principal. She thinks she knows why he really came: to get Pablo fired. He denies that but adds if he came to do that, what is the big deal? He already told her he is not going to let her go out with a boy who is a "good for nothing." Lili also tells him she is almost 18 and can do whatever she wants. Jorge says yes, but not while she is living under his roof. She grabs his folder he was carrying and starts looking through his papers. She finally just rips them all up.

Rafael has accompanied a very nervous Renée who is going to try to meet with a man she thinks is her father. Rafael makes sure she knows that she is not alone. Renée goes on her own down a city block to a particular address.

Jorge gets down on the ground and methodically picks up the ripped up papers as Lili rants. Jorge tells her that she has really caused him a mess. She says that is not her problem. He informs her that they will be having a serious talk together because things are not going to stay like they are. Her message is clear: she cannot stand him at all. The principal comes out to see what is going on. Lili says her father is bothering her. Jorge tells the principal that the problem is that he has a daughter who does not understand that she has a father to whom she has to show some respect. Lili mouths off saying she is not going to be his slave. The principal sends all of the kids who have been watching the spectacle to class as well as Lili. The principal tells Jorge that he gains nothing by arguing with Lilí. She asks him to come with her.

At Logatoys, Fabián says he has tried calling everybody and sent sharks to their houses but Falcón and his board of directors have all have disappeared. Mauricio thinks that if Falcón does not return, it is all for the better. Fabián informs him that it isn’t so easy. He continues to be a partner in the company and they still owe him a lot of money. Mauricio sees it as if Falcón does not come back, he won’t be getting any of his money back either. It will be a case of giving him a taste of his own medicine(a thief robbing a thief). . . Fabián has to add that no matter how bad a thief Falcón is, there are decisions that Mauricio cannot make alone. That is why he needs him. Maybe he will reappear. No use getting upset ahead of time. Mauricio gets a text from Kika reminding him of their date. He tells Fabián all about the ”last goodbye” date. Fabián tells him to be careful since he knows that Kika is irresistible. Mauricio asks him if he really doesn’t feel anything for Kika. Fabián is taken aback and says he feels nothing. Mauricio tells him to calm down, he was just asking . . . Mauricio asks Fabián if he should see Kika or not. Mauricio seems to answer his own question when he says well she was his fiancée as he traces her figure in the air with his hands.

Renée rings the doorbell as Rafael waits down the street for her. An older woman answers the door. Renée asks if an Angel Landeras lives there. It is clear that Renée is going nowhere fast. No, she is not from a political party or the bank. She certainly is not his lover. The woman of the house says she better tell her what this is about or she will be calling 911. Renée explains that she is Angel’s daughter.

In the principal’s office, Jorge is complaining about Lili having no respect for him. The principal reminds him that respect is something you gain little by little. Jorge sees it in black and white: he is her father and she should respect him. He asks her to look at the mess she made of all of his important work papers. The principal agrees that Lilí has to assume responsibility for what she did nevertheless. . . Jorge says “nevertheless” nothing. His daughter is infatuated with that boy Pablo. This all happened because that. Jorge tells the principal to fire Pablo right now. She informs him that is not possible because Pablo is a good worker and has given her no reason to be fired. Jorge sees it as just taking Lili’s side. The principal is not taking anybody’s side. She gives Pablo some tape to tape his papers back together. She has some advice for Pablo. She should do the same thing with his daughter as he did with son Baldo. He threatens to take his daughter out of the school if she does not fire Pablo. She tells him to calm down before he makes any kind of decision. He thinks the whole world has gone crazy and nobody can say anything anymore about anything With everything being so politically correct. He starts talking about “women”. At that point, the principal has had enough. She will not be offended. She asks him to leave. Jorge is so confused he does not even know what he said. Taking a final piece of tape, he leaves muttering about them all being crazy.

Renée is not having any better luck with the woman of the house who has gotten very angry and just wants her to leave. Reée tries to reassure her that Angel probably does not know that she even exists and that is why she has to talk to him. She only wants to know what happened. Would she please tell him that she just wants to clear things up? If he never wants to see her again, that is okay by her. Nothing has changed the lady of the house’s mind. She wants Renée gone for good or she will call the police. She slams the door in Renée’s face. Rafael swoops in to assist Renée who is still pleading with the slammed door. She tells Rafael she will not give up.

At the Metra Bar, Kika and Mauricio are having their last date. She insists that her intention with this date was only to end things between them peacefully. She likes to “close circles” (get closure). Mauricio is suspicious because with her circles they can turn into all kinds of more complex geometric shapes. As Kika goes on about nobody every said she was easy, Mauricio is flirting with a girl sitting behind Kika. Kika is saying that she has forgiven Mauricio. That surprises him. What did he do? He only ended their relationship. She is also returning the “M” charm necklace he gave her so he can give it to the woman he falls in love with. The woman Mauricio was flirting with is very interested in the charm necklace and grabs one around her own neck. She comes over to the table to see what Kika is doing with a charm necklace like she has. Mauricio López Garza gave the necklace to her. Kika starts to get angry but it is soon clear that the woman does not know the real Mauricio López Garza nor he her. The woman says he is the owner of Logatoys. Mauricio says that that is him. The woman shakes her head. No they do not know each other. She calls Mauricio an impostor. Kika asks Mauricio if he is thinking the same thing she is thinking. He asks why would he be thinking he same thing as her. (Duh!).

Flor gets a mysterious phone call from a man called Sostones. He knows her full name and asks if she has any children. She says yes, she has a baby. He orders her to deposit money in the bank for him or he will pay her and her baby a visit. She hangs up in fear.

The woman at the restaurant is now comparing Mauricio to how “her Mauricio” looks. They are the same size, with two ears, hair, two eyes, a nose, and just like him real stuck up. Mauricio cannot see himself as being stuck up and asks to take a look at the necklace. As he compares it to the one he gave Kika, it turns out that they are the same. They were supposed to be made especially for him but they look like they come from the same mold with the same mark. The woman concludes that her Mauricio must have lied to her. Mauricio agrees the only Mauricio López Garza owner of Logatoys is him. The woman asks if he has given the necklace to a lot of women and concludes he must be a womanizer even before Mauricio can answer. He denies being a womanizer while Kika asks what man is not a womanizer. Mauricio says well maybe before he was but now he is a saint. The woman tells him to keep the necklace and leaves exasperated just saying “Men!” Mauricio decides he will have to investigate the matter since whoever started with the necklace could rob him of his identity and his whole life. It would be just like a movie. He gets up to leave and Kika wishes him good luck. When he is gone, Kika smiles and adds that he is going to need it.

Flor is a nervous wreck when she arrives at the tire shop and tells Nerón about the phone call. Nerón tries to calm her down saying it is just one of those extortionists trying to get what he can. Well, she is so afraid and wants to know what they are going to do. Nerón suggests filing a complaint with the police. Nerón says if they don’t then they will be putting the baby in danger. Nerón wants to know how much she told the guy.

Mauricio meets with the jeweler who tells him that somebody made a copy of the charm on the necklace that he made for him. What is more, he did a good job. So, somebody had to steal the charm from somebody close to him. The jeweler asks who does he might suspect. Mauricio looks like he has the answer.

Renée is back at the door with Rafael. She rings the doorbell and the same woman comes to the door and tells asks her what she doesn’t get about not wanting to see her. Rafael tries to finesse the situation but is immediately accused by the woman of the house of being a busybody. She tells them both to get going because now she is going to call the police. Renée still tries to argue her case saying they haven’t threatened her or have been rude . . . when the woman of the house starts screaming for help telling people to grab them. Passersby take notice as Rafael and Renée walk quickly and flee down the street.

Mauricio is at his desk looking at the necklaces remembering having given one to María and Anifer having given it to him at his wedding. Jorge stops that thought. He has come on by to tell Mauricio that they are having a little problem with changing Anifer’s name. Mauricio asks if he did not say that it was a done deal. Yes he did but that was before and this is now. There was an accident.

Flor is so upset she cannot remember if she told the guy on the phone if she had a baby or if he knew already. She is totally confused as to who said what. Nerón is upset because she has the habit of chattering on so much. He then says it might be better if she does not take the baby out for walks. Flor insists that she and the baby need the sun and just to be out. Nerón is concerned that that guy might be spying on them. Flor decides she is going back home and Nerón insists on accompanying her.

Mauricio just does not understand how an accident could have happened. It is in the realm of “the dog ate my homework” for him. Jorge explains that accidents do happen and that they should be able to get a copy of the DNA results from the lab with no problem. Jorge is on his way out while Fabián appears to let Mauricio know that Falcón and his friends have disappeared without a trace. Mauricio is going to have Jorge start legal proceeding against them. Mauricio only wants to get his company back. Falcón is going to miss the launch of the papá/mamá doll which is imminent. He asks Fabián where he got the DNA test done because he is going to need a copy of the results. Fabián just nods.

Toño runs into his children’s teacher outside of the school. She is happy to see him because the principal wanted to talk to him or his wife. Like a kid, he wonders what he did.

At the school, Lili is ranting on to Pablo about how she has had it with Jorge and how he threatened to punish her terribly when she gets home. She hates him so much. Pablo tells her not to say that. If things are that bad then maybe they should stop seeing each other for a while. He doesn’t want to lose her but he cannot forget going to find his father either. She doesn’t want him to leave her. He says he would not do that. He will come back for her but she cannot be on bad terms with her family. He shows her the money he has accumulated to pay the smuggler to get him across the border. He plans to go in a few days. Lili has the solution: she can go with him to Los Angeles. She knows the border much better than he and she can cross without a lot of hassles. If they go together it will be much safer.

The principal has some bad news for Toño. Ernesto has turned to being quite aggressive as of late. He hit a friend of his today. She asks if things are okay on the home front. Toño has to admit that things are not going well. The principal wants to know what she can do to help. Toño explains that he works hard at home and sometimes he does not have the time for the kids like he should. He is desperate and frustrated because he is the man. Looking uncomfortable she tells him that is normal and not to beat himself up about it. He explains that being a “house husband” is a lot more complicated than what it seems and nobody recognizes you for what you do. What really hurts is that he wife is the one who recognizes what he does the least. Nobody knows and it hurts. She hands him a Kleenex as he cries.

At Mauricio’s, he is eating with Anifer and Renée. Everyone is quiet so Mauricio tries to get a conversation going. He asks Anifer about her “the person I admire the most” project. She says it is about her mother but she cannot talk about her mother so . . . Mauricio asks if she would like to visit her mother where she is buried. Renée looks at him in astonishment. Renée gets Anifer away from the table to distract her. Mauricio apologizes. He didn’t know his suggestion would make Anifer sad and sits there looking guilty.

Toño is going over the dog feeding rules with the kids that Rafael gave them. They cannot go feeding Rola all of the time. He shows them how to measure out a half of a cup of dry dog food three times a day.

Jorge gets home and runs into Rodrigo. Jorge asks to talk to him about something. He is interested in finding out about the procedure to deport an illegal. Rodrigo is surprised he would not know what the procedure is because he is not a lawyer. Jorge explains how the laws are always changing and since things have gotten so bad, he thought that Rodrigo would be aware of the latest versions of the law and help him out.

Some days later . . .

Renée and Mauricio are talking before she leaves. She wonders what is worrying him. He looks strange, distracted. He is concerned about Anifer, the factory, so many things and without wanting to put pressure on her, he is also concerned about her. She wants to know why. What does she mean by why? She walks around distracted, too, she barely turns around to see him, he does not know what she is feeling and his dear little heart is involved. Renée cannot believe he is talking about his “dear little heart”. He wants her to be there and she isn’t there. She tells him not to be corny about it. At night, she leaves and he misses her there, with her fragrance, her happy face and her grumpy face; her little snores, etc. She says that is all very nice but she sees them as having very different plans so getting together would be useless. She wants to go study; he has his factory and his ex-novia to take care of. He tells her there is nothing going on with Kika. He met her but it was just for ”closure" and to return the “M” necklace that he gave her. Renée has heard enough at that point. She changes the topic to Anifer. He wants to know how to keep her from being sad. Renée says it is a part of mourning that cannot be avoided. Anifer comes out and wonders who is taking her to school. Renée and Mauricio cannot decide.

At the tire shop, Pablo is telling Nerón that the time has come for him to leave and go looking for his dad. Nerón is more concerned with finding someone to look after Flor and Milady if something happens to him. The conversation is cut short when Rodrigo enters the shop confronting Pablo about being an illegal.

Comments:
I am wondering if Lili will escape with Pablo across the border. That would be a nice break from that plot line for a while. Mauricio sure has it bad for Renée.

What else does Kika have up her sleeve to complicate Mauricio's life?

Are Flor and Milady in real danger from some guy named "Sostones" or was it just a random call Flor got?

Here is hoping Renée finds her dad soon.

Mauricio has it bad.

Toño is just pathetic.

More mañana.

Jarifa, thank you for your excellent recap...you depiction of all the details is noteworthy.

My question regardingbPablo is: will Rodrigo follow thoughbon deporting him or will he help him stay legally, if there is a way. It didn’t surprise me at all that Jorge turned him in. Jorge is still a long way from being the father that the kids need.

The “M” chains are opening a can of worms...and I think Fabian is going to have much to explain.

I didn’t like Lili tearing up those papers. It was vicious and uncalled for, but the good thing is that another copy of Anifer’s DNA test is needed. Unfortunately Mau is counting on Fabian to get it....big mistake!!

I’m wondering if thatbcall is from someone who actually knows Flor...someone from her past???

Mau does have it bad for Renee and the feeling is mutual...so much so that their “encounters” look awkward and desperate...they both need to take a deep breath (between kisses) and slow down.

Andy, I saw your question about Flor’s name. She has a middle name which is Ivon/Ivonne so people sometimes call her by both names, Flot Ivonne. It took me a while to figure out what they were actually saying :-) oh and another mystery about Flor: how the heck does she keep those dresses from rising up...isnthere some sort of two-sided tape that they use???

Hope everyone has sweet dreams...I’m hoping to dream about the Chippenduds :-)
Oh and I’m generous...I would put a dollar in each of the dancers/wannabe dancers’ shorts... teehee

Oh and yes, Tonto was pathetic. and Maia, I agree with you, I don’t care at all for the way they changed Vero and Tonto. Each one is portraying the (old school) stereotypical husband/housewife but in reverse of course. The writers need to get out from the stone ages!

Ooops that should be FloR Ivonne...maybe I was thinking that she shows an aw-fulot! haha!

RgvChick, I, too, was wondering if the call was from someone in Flor’s past. I will be surprised if this is the end of the mysterious phone call. I hope it is nothing unpleasant though.

Jarifa, thank you for another excellent recap which filled in a lot of details for me.

Rgv Chickie, thanks to you also for the info on Flor's name! Flor Ivon makes a lot more sense than "Florigón" :-)

This was another excellent episode. Did they bring in some new writers or what? Anyway, great stuff.

When Mau gets her started Renee really comes up to temperature quickly, but she can cool off just as fast, or faster. Lili, on the other hand, you couldn't cool down with a fire hose. Pablo, run for the hills, guy!

Speaking of cooling off, what happened with Baldo? First he was a Peeping Tom, now he has supposedly hot Kika in the house and doesn't even give her a look over. Well, at least he and Sammy are getting along, it bodes well for Sammy.

Ah, well. More later.

Hmmm... well, I guess it's a little later :-)

I just wanted to make a comment on how creepy it is that some guy would call Flor Ivon and threaten Milady. Maybe Nerón doesn't, but Flor gets along just great with hot cop, why not ask him what they should do? I can't believe this didn't occur to her.

I don't think Rodrigo is going to do anything bad to Pablo, not even hit on him since he's married to the guy with the glasses with no discernible lenses, or almost.

Toño is OK, he just has some issues he has to work through and discuss with Laura since he won't be seeing Yola anymore, which is a real shame because if he doesn't see her neither will we.
:-(

Andy, funny but true comment about Baldo. This just proves how addicting those video games must be!

Thanks Jarifa. Sounds like it was a pretty stormy time last night in our supposedly light-hearted comedy.

Mauricio just does not understand how an accident could have happened. It is in the realm of “the dog ate my homework” for him.

That cracked me up. As did Andy Banda's comment

When Mau gets her started Renee really comes up to temperature quickly, but she can cool off just as fast, or faster. Lili, on the other hand, you couldn't cool down with a fire hose. Pablo, run for the hills, guy!

Spoken like a man with experience.

I certainly hope Nerón isn't head for an early demise. He is one of my favorite characters. Although trying to keep up with the very young, juicy Flor Ivon is probably killing him softly as the song goes.

Will look forward to seeing this later. Thanks again Jarifa. Glad the dog didn't eat your recap!

Jarifa, I also agree with you about the addiction of video games. There was a story recently about a woman so annoyed by her partner who spent ALL him time playing video games, she bought a samurai sword and attacked him with it while he slept. (he survived by the way and they were able to re-attach the fingers he used to play games with.)

Loved the recap Jarifa!

"Will she? Won't she? Should she just go home?", "Mauricio just does not understand how an accident could have happened. It is in the realm of “the dog ate my homework” for him" and "Like a kid, he wonders what he did" were among many favorites.

Jorge is on a treadmill, in effect - going no where. He is rigid and unyielding. His relationship with his children is non existent and there is no respect or the slightest bit of understanding. This was a golden opportunity for he and Lili to have a serious conversation but it was sadly squandered. Lili ripping up his papers was wrong but again, she is lashing out as he is unreasonable.

I like that the attraction between Mau and Renee is slowing building...

RgvChick, I am not sure what Rodrigo has in mind, but I think (hope) he might try to work with him to help him gain legal status. That is if Jorge doesn't muck things up first. I am very afraid Lili is going to get into severe trouble if she tries to halp Pablo cross.

Very, very concerned for Flor and Milady. Neron should be concerned. Jarifa, I do think it is someone who knows Flor...Andy, I like your suggestion that Flor should talk to Rod. Great advice.

Jorge seems immune to Kika's charms. Doesn't appear that potential storyline has any heft.

I have hope for Tono. He isn't bad at heart, he just needs to realize that things are a 'changin and there are no longer strict "roles" for male/female in and outside of the home. It's collaborative, not specific. I think Vero is being stretched too thin - she knows what is important but being harried does take its toll.

I also want Renee to find her father.

Jarifa, another excellent outing. Thank you!

Diana

Judy, our comments crosse4d. I also love Neron and "Although trying to keep up with the very young, juicy Flor Ivon is probably killing him softly as the song goes" was perfect.

Diana

I was just thinking....if Renee and Flor get it on as fast as they talk...Geezzz...the guys probably think, “Ya? Already? Did we have fun?” And I can just imagine Renee, “No! Yes! No, this way....maybe that way! Just do whatever!”

Jarifa: I hope Kika & Fabian are successful in destroying Mauricio.

Thanks Jarifa. I thought the funniest scene last night was Jorge and Hippy Dippy Laura and the tape. He is trying to tape those scraps of paper back together. I might remind him that the simple thing to do is piece them together a page at a time on the copier and press the green button.

Anyway, so Jorge is blabbering away like a pissed off Renee and Laura is dispensing little pieces of tape and listening. Neither one is in the same universe. It reminded me of an old I love Lucy or Three stooges skit where one is employed on an assembly line which mysteriously begins to speed up. Eventually a point comes where the results are disastrous. Same with Laura handing the tape pieces. Without time to use them, Jorge just stores each on an available fingertip. I was rolling.

So Mr. Big has fired Falcon and Henchmen and told Mauricio they just disappeared? He is not accustomed to seeing Mauricio actually thinking, and it will cost him if our boy Mau comes through.

Kika's charm seems to wilt as quickly as it blooms as Mau, Jorge and Baldo seem to be immune to her now. (It hasn't happened here yet! )

Yes RGV, You'd need one of those high speed cameras which freeze insects in flight to see if it actually happened, as neither of them smoke.

Thinking about Flor's speech and her in bed makes me think of that little machine in the paint department at Home Depot which shakes your paint for you to mix it thoroughly before you take it home.

So Lil wants to accompany Pablo sneaking across the border into a foreign country.

Pregnant I'm sure

What could go wrong

Does she understand the condoms are not like weed killer? "Once lasts all season."

Andy, "Speaking of cooling off, what happened with Baldo?" Yeah, what happened to his hormones? They were going full blast and now he seems to have run out of gasoline!

Diana, "Jorge is on a treadmill, in effect - going no where." Exactly! I wonder what it will take to open this man's eyes so that he can see that what he is doing just ain't workin' Headbandless Laura didn't seem to phase him. Ihad thought she would be his next luuurve and that would do him some good, but the way she look at him (in disbelief)...NOppers, she seemed to lose interest really quick.

Kirby, "Thinking about Flor's speech and her in bed makes me think of that little machine in the paint department at Home Depot which shakes your paint for you to mix it thoroughly before you take it home." You had me laughing out loud! Yes, that is quite a good analogy...no wonder Neron is having health problems!

I hope the Tono/Vero storyline doesn’t get dragged out much further. Gender roles are changing, but the house husband in Latin America is mostly still viewed as the lazy sleaze living off the wife. It’s culturally more acceptable for both parents to be working than the husband staying at home. So while he’s getting accustomed to Vero being the provider, he’s also feeling self-conscious about what people think. Then there’s the fact that he’s also dealing with Vero’s personality change. He’s questioned her on it, but she just brushed it off. Not consulting him for anything and telling him what to do in that demanding tone of hers reduces him further to being a nanny, not even a house husband. One of the insults she said of Tono at the club was that he was a good for nothing. I’m not so sure if all of her behavior stems from being harried- I think subconsciously she’s discontent with her home.

I thought Flor Ivonne was pretending not to remember what she told the caller so that Neron would be less upset. I agree that it was unrealistic of her not to go straight for Rodrigo.

Rodrigo probably won’t do anything to Pablo. He doesn’t like Jorge anyway.

Maia

Kirby, is that eagle watching Renee and Mau trying to go at it and wondering if they'll ever get 'er done? Nice shot! :-)

JudyB, thanks for the video finger “amputation” story. The strangest things go on out there . . .

Diana, ITA that Toño has to learn to go with the “things are a changin” vibe. Jorge is the most stuck in the past without much hope while at least Toño has an inkling that he is going to have to change if his marriage and family are going to survive. If he continues to go kicking and screaming and crying, there might be nothing left. He is like a kid. It is still all about him and how he feels for how long now? A few months max? Really?

Kirby, so very true about Fabián not being “accustomed to seeing Mauricio actually thinking”. I am hoping that Mauricio gets with the program and surprises them all.

Maia, I sure hope that Rodrigo chooses to not report Pablo to the immigration services. The kid hasn’t been involved in criminal activities.

Thank you, Jarifa, for that snappy recap.

Well , we all think that Lily is pregnant now , IF Pablo marries her, will he gained citizenship by marrying a Mexican citizen? Or will RAfe and Rod adopt the baby?

Vero and Tonto are both in the wrong and need to sit down and talk things out or get some counseling.

Poor Neuron cannot seem to catch a break. I worry about him surviving all this drama with his baby and mama and Pablo, and his health issues, and his job. Did Flor have some unsavory characters in her past ? As to her skirts and dresses ...maybe she wears short shorts underneath.

I think that Fab has always been envious of Maury. He is the second banana....the quarterback's bff who is handsome\athletic\charming...just one step down.

Susy, ITA, both vero and Tonto are in the wrong. Vero has made a 180 and changed her priorities though she says otherwise. She is focused on “providing” for the family without regard to their feelings or opinions. Her statement in a previous episode that she hadn’t made a decision about accepting the promotion said it all. I might even agree with Maia now that she has become rather selfish....thinking only of the prestige of getting a promotion. Her reaction about the peck Yola gave Tonto was unreasonable and unsubstantiated IMO. And her statement that Tonto was being unfaithful had no merit...just an overreaction...could she being looking for an excuse to leave him? Does she think she has “outgrown “ him? I want the old Vero back...she was more amusing and considerate.

Just a reminder—there will be no TN tomorrow because of the telethon. On a lighter note, it may also be because Rulli will be in the RGV tomorrow for an appearance at Circus Vargas...I wonder if he’ll do some stunts in his boxers LOL

Oooh lucky you Rgv Chick! Rulli will be in the neighborhood. I can feel the heat rising already.

I think we're seeing a common phenomenon with Vero and Toño. We each have a Giver and a Taker. When they are balanced, we are loving, but not pushovers. But when we are out of balance....

Right now, Vero's Taker seems to be mostly in charge. And it's throwing the whole family off. But once she gets back into balance (and I think she will) the family will reach a new plateau and she and Toño will be back in loving sync. But it's going to take a while, because his Taker will start to try and protect him from further hurt.

Can this marriage be saved? (Ladies Home Journal) Sure. But we're in for a rough ride before that happens.

Chickie ,yes ,Vero is angry and jealous and not seeming to realize that if you are not showing love, affection , and attention to your mate, there is always someone ready to do so in your place. She and Tonto need to sit down and talk honestly and try to work out a new normal for them if they want their marriage to survive all these changes.

".I wonder if he’ll do some stunts in his boxers LOL"

Um...how much do you think your bail will be? I can send it by PayPal.

And Vero didn't actually SEE the kiss. People in romantic relationships have made up far more outlandish stories than that for any number of brain dead reasons.

Chickie... Maybe Rulli will stop by. I have a new respect for him after seeing him in this tn. He is not just a handsome guy.

Maury isn't speaking as much English as he did at the beginning of this show. I wonder why.

Susanlynn, now an adoption by R and R could easily solve an unwanted pregnancy. Great idea. At least we know Lili is almost 18 so she will be able to take off legally with Pablo very soon if she so chooses.

RgvChick, what fun having Rulli in the hood. Short of being the ringmaster, I am wondering what he would do considering the circus is family entertainment. : )

Kirby, you have my attention...did I miss something? what is with the "Bimbo" bread? ...and if I do end up in jail, I'll set up a GoFundMe page ;-)

I think Rulli is only going to do a guest appearance...to my disappointment! David Zepeda has been promoting the circus too; so I think he'll be there too.

I went online and there were some videos of the two of them at the circus along with Angelique Boyer but I did not have time to watch them.

Oh the paypal is if you get locked up for being too 'friendly' at the circus.

The Bimbo is for Por Amar Sin Ley, as some cheater's mistress is probably preggers and I said 'Bad night at Bimbo, bun in the wrong oven.'

OT: I am going to have to get a second identity if I want to comment on both these shows so my avatars stay separate.

:-)

We have a big Bimbo plant near us. They bought out a local company.

"too much fun at the circus"....ha.

Susanlynn....thank you autocorrect.
