LADO, CAP. 24, LUNES, Parte 1 de 2

A repeat of Friday’s final scene. Joel has trapped Sofía against a wall, but they don’t kiss. She rags on him and he moves away. He’s leaving to try to rescue Alondra. Somehow he locks her in. [I’m confused. I thought they were in HER apartment.]

The disgusting 66 loads up Tomás with some more drugs for Beverly Hills. Tomás tells him not to send another thug to look for him. 66 doesn’t take advice from anyone, and he points a gun at Tomás’ head. Tomás calmly reminds him that, if he’s seen with the gang guys, his cover will be blown. 66 admires “Sunshine” for ni parpadeaste. (that Tomás didn’t even blink when the gun was at his head.) But 66 reminds him that he’s the master and Tomás is the dog.

Karina is looking at Alondra’s bed, worried that she hasn’t come home. She calls Alo, who manages to answer it with her feet in the storeroom and yell behind the gag. But one of Ernesto’s guards takes the cell and sends Karina a message that she’s fine.

Karina and Rodrigo talk. He tells her that Charlie is their brother and a good person. But Rod is afraid he’s going to die.

Eliza closes the shop early. Andrés tells her that he knows she’s upset with him because he partirle el hocico de tu ex-marido (punched her ex in his snout). He offers to be her friend, to listen, and not offer any opinions. Eliza: A ti te hicieron y rompieron el molde. (They broke the mold when they made you.)

Max and Steve talk. Steve says that Eliza doesn’t deserve Jennifer on her case but doesn’t admit that he’s met her. Steve asks if Max knows whether Eliza is a legal resident. Max, of course, hasn’t a clue. Steve tells him that if she’s not, she could end up deported and pagando los platos rotos, como siempre (literally, pay for the broken plates; i.e., suffer the consequences as she always does).

Joel asks Richard to get him some journalist credentials to get into the Mexican consulate.

Frida is singing for Mark. I’m not sure what his game is; we assume he’s gay. But he keeps telling Frida he’ll get her a producer to break into music. But he doesn’t want her to leave the house. I think she’s too old to appeal to the pedophiles, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

Karina comes to meet Charlie and can’t help but like the kid. Charlie tells her he feels happy to have a sister. Just then Jennifer comes in, suspicious of Karina being there. Charlie starts up a decent lie, and Karina embellishes it, saying she’s there as a volunteer gig through the high school.

While Eliza tells Andrés that, having met Jennifer, she can understand how she would have pressured Max, Andrés tells her she’s at the point of forgiving Max of 10 years of abandonment.

Tomás charms his way into Mark’s Beverly Hills mansion even though Mark is not there.

Senator Slimy urges the very reluctant Ernesto to look for some undocumented mothers with young daughters. He gives Ernesto a veiled threat that the funds for his campaign could be cut off if he doesn’t come through.

Tomás wants to take Frida to some outdoor event in Venice (CA) but she tells him she’s not permitted to leave the house.

Joel bribes a guard at the consulate and then convinces the guy watching the security cameras that he’s part of Ernesto’s security detail. He gets him to leave him alone with the cameras. He sees Alondra tied up in the storeroom.

LADO, CAP. 24, LUNES, Parte 2 de 2

Julián is chortling at the scene of the shoe being thrown at his father. [For a kid who adored his dad and refused to leave the country with Sofía, he’s not such a loyal kid now.] But he recognizes Sofía when she tries to climb over a barrier and rescue Alondra. He doesn’t seem to recognize Alondra.

While Ernesto is giving another of his excellent speeches to the press, Paula sees Joel and thinks he looks familiar. [Paula must be slipping; I can’t believe she didn’t place him immediately.]

Tomás is ready to drive off, having delivered the “package” to Mark, when Frida jumps into the car with him. And they take off, presumably for Venice.

Steve shows up at the bakery with roses for their “date”. Eliza has forgotten and apologizes. Karina runs in to show Eliza a video of Alondra throwing the shoe.

Ernesto comes to the storeroom and recognizes his daughter. His voice choked up, he calls her mi niña y mi princesa. When she almost spits in his face, he says that he supposed she’d feel that way. He wants to tell her his side of the story. His side of the story is, of course, that Sofía deceived him. The silver-tongued devil goes on and on and even tempts her with seeing Julián. He wants to take her home with him.

Joel, watching in the room with the video screens, sees Ernesto enter the storeroom.

Steve offers to help with Alondra, saying he’s a lawyer. She tells him part of the story, but not all. She says she’s been Alondra’s caretaker for years because her mother was falsely accused of a crime. And then she goes on to say that Alondra’s father is Ernesto Martinez.

Richard comes to see Sofía and tells her that Alondra is inside the consulate.

The nasty guard who sent a text to Karina, pretending to be Alondra, is being grilled by Paula about Ernesto’s whereabouts.

Joel calls the main Mexican consulate number from his cell and says he needs to speak with the consul, inventing some high ranking person. Ernesto takes the call, leaves the storeroom, and we see Joel jump to his feet. Hope he gets her out of there!

Lado

Thanks Novelera, that was quick! I thought they were at Sofia's place too. Guess he grabbed her and took her to his place. And how strange that Paula didn't recognize him...hopefully it'll buy him some time before she sics Pastrana on him and they realize the trafficking investigation continues.

Don't know how Joel will get Alondra past the 3 guards. He should have disabled the cameras.

What a twist to have Ernesto immediately recognize Alondra then convince her that her mom was the evil one. She's vulnerable these days so he may convince her to stay. (I never liked her antisocial attitude. Eliza and the kids treat her like family)

And what will Julian do with his suspicions....Hope He resumes the video b4 anyone else sees Sofia on screen. Once The Senator finds out all bets are off.

Spanish Student

Lado

Spanish Student, I don't think Ernesto was entirely successful in convincing Alondra that her mother was the bad one. She just appeared to be listening and not yelling at him any more. I don't think we yet know exactly how she's going to react. She could just be shining him on to try to get out of the storeroom.

Lado

What a terrific recap, novelera! MANY thanks! And the Spanish phrases you included were especially helpful.

I too was confused about where Joel and Sofia were. I'm also surprised that Sofia didn't try very hard to escape until right before Richard arrived. She didn't even try to go out through a window.

And what kind of dummy is Joel, calling attention to himself by taking photos when no one else is doing so? I think that's what caught Paula's eye. And why did Joel need photos? It looked as if he was taking them of Ernesto, which makes no sense.

Yes, I too was surprised when Paula didn't immediately recognize Joel. That doesn't fit with everything else we've seen of Paula's talents.

I don't think Alondra was simply playing along with Ernesto in order to get out of the storeroom. That was probably true at the start, but once Ernesto mentioned Julian and how much he missed her and would like to see her, her face softened. She has several times said that she misses Julian. Ernesto may have said the magic words. And even if he didn't win her over, I agree with Spanish Student: it's hard to see how Joel can get her past the guards outside the door. Yes, he's a skilled fighter, but presumably so are they.

I haven't said anything about Frida and Mark because I too wondered what the relationship was between them. For a while tonight I thought he might be her brother. Whatever he is, the business about her not being allowed to leave the house is pretty creepy.

Lado

Novelera, Let's hope so. OTOH, Alondra's antisocial behavior will probably manifest somehow. And with Eliza's kids now having both a father and a new (fragile) brother, I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted a family of her own. That'll make Sofia want to reveal herself to save the one she loves the most...her daughter. Just a suspicion...hopefully the writers will prove me wrong.

Interesting though that Sofia, Alondra, and Joel were spotted at the same event but by 3 different people (all part of a love triangle, well maybe not 'love'). It's about to get interesting.

Spanish Student

Lado

I agree something suspicious is happening with Frida and Mark, and Tomas may be getting into deeper trouble. Frida is a caged adult and it's not like Mark's making money off of her...so Clearly he plans to exploit her and it may not be with her singing.

And yes, there was no reason for Joel's photography skills except to draw attention to himself.

"LADO":

Spanish Student: I'm expecting Alondra to start hating Sofia, Eliza & Co., once she moves into the big mansion.

It's inevitable!

HALIMACANDY: I hope Eliza & her kids get ready because Hurricane Jennifer will be increasing the ante even further.

Bella: Joel better find a way to get out of the Mexican Consulate because I don't see him getting Alondra out of there.

Irene: Julian knows Sofia is alive. How long before he blurt this out to Ernesto & Paula ? We know Slimy United States Senator Irving Cummings (R-TX) is going to find out sooner or later.

Lado...repost from other page.

For the record...Nett is a girl...

I hadn't spoken up for a specific date because my schedule fluctuates and will pick up in the spring/summer which means I often have to watch on deand the following day....and comcast uploads are not always dependable from a timing standpoint. I was gonna suggest taking on Fridays but it was taken before I could decide.

I should be able to cover this tonight but can't really predict going forward....but will try to pitch in.

Nett

Lado

Nett, I'm glad you're willing to recap, but I had already said I'd do tonight and that Tuesday is my preferred day. OTOH, this week I could do Wednesday instead, if you'd like to do tonight. Please let me know.

Lado

This TN moves right along...I like the pace. Outside of who killed Joel's sister....issues are being addressed or revealed a good pace...I like that.
And of course the truth about Ernie is the major plot so it will linger till the end.

I guess Alondra was just a kid when everything went down but I thought she knew the details of her father's crime... I thought at some point in time...we saw Sofia tell her enough for her to know that her dad was a bad guy....so she should be cautious of him...but of course miss her family.

Nett

Lado

thank you so much for the recap novelera, wonderful as always!

I too wondered about Paula not recognizing Joel. which means they probably haven't been tracking him, and i don't think she has been around him much, Ernesto on the other hand has his image drilled into his head from watching that video of him kissing Sofia, wasn't it Ernesto that picked out Joel from the news footage of Juan being arrested, where Paula overlooked it?

so Steve broke the news to Eliza that Ernesto is the new consul, I think she finally got what Alo was doing there.

that was some talk Ernesto had with Alo, I thought he knew who she was as to why they were detaining her, of course he is the good guy here, and he has proof, and as he is called away he tells her he'll leave the door unlocked, but please don't leave, I'm sure the guards have other instructions.

Frida is a nice twist as if Tommy needs to get more involved, and using the bakery truck and packing boxes doesn't bode well for the rest of his family.

even though Alo was young, I think the guys trying to kill Sofia and her at the border were very real to her.

Lado

One more thing I forgot to put in. I can't believe she'd do it to a sick child, but Jennifer told Charlie that his father doesn't love him.

Lado

deb you're probably right...isn't the business and the truck in Andres' name? So there's a possibility that Andres will be in trouble if Tomas is caught using the truck for drug deliveries. Mark clearly doesn't play fair.

Spanish Student

Lado

Ernesto also told Alo that Sofia and Joel were lovers, that's why she betrayed him.

"LADO":

Deb: You better get used to seeing Alondra turning EVIL very soon. You also better get used to seeing Ernesto & his cronies keep winning.

Lado

Nett, please see my earlier message (today at 11:46 AM) about recapping.

Lado

Deb, it'll be interesting to see how Alondra responds to Joel now that she's been told he and Sofia were lovers. Maybe she'll accuse him of breaking up her family and not allow him to help her. The characters always do the opposite of what makes sense. But This is one time I'm glad Patrick is nearby... I don't see Joel getting out without being compromised.

Spanish Student

Lado

Patrick is the get-away driver, at the curb, engine running.

Lado

Juanita...I missed that you would cover tonight...so go right ahead. I will see what I can do another night.

Nett

Lado

Thanks, Nett.

OK, I'll do tonight. So far, no one has offered to do Wednesday or Thursday, though deb often does Wednesday.

"LADO":

Spanish Student: I see Alondra going to live with Ernesto & being BRAINWASHED into hating Joel (rightfully so), Sofia, Eliza, Karina & Co.,

Get ready because it's coming BABY!

@Steve

Excuse me? "BABY!" I'm not Spanish Student, but damn that is some off-putting crap right there. I can't help but read this in my mind as if someone's screaming in my face. Maybe you need to back off the caps lock button. FFS.

"LADO":

I was saying it in jest because it's a joke.

MAKE ERNESTO GREAT AGAIN.

Novelera, thank you for another wonderful recap, so thorough and full of helpful vocabulary.

Jennifer is despicable for how she treats Charlie. Not only did she say that his father doesn't love him, but she also added that he is a bad man. I don't understand her end game though, what would she gain from poisoning Charlie against his father, apart from making Max even angrier at her and eager to run to Eliza as fast as he can? I think that Charlie is smart and realizes what's going on between his parents, since he lied to protect Karina's identity. He probably wanted to avoid Jennifer's reaction to the truth.

I probably sound like a broken record, but Joel is such an idiot. He looked about as inconspicuous in that press conference as a nun waitressing in a Hooters restaurant. I wonder how he manages to dress himself in the morning. And his violence towards Sophia was just horrendous. He had absolutely no right to sequester her in his apartment (and by the way, why did Sophia only pick the lock to let Richard in? doesn't make any sense).

There was an awful lot of unwarranted forgiveness going in this episode, and while I can somehow understand Alondra forgiving Ernesto, since she is a lonely child and probably wasn't privy to all the information about her evil but smooth-talking dad, I wanted to grab Eliza through the screen and shake her while screaming "He married someone else while married to you, cheated on you for 4 years, had a child with his other wife, abandoned you in a foreign country, without means of sustenance and with 2 small children and never ever bothered to check whether you or the children are alive, not starving to death, not in in need of any help and remember, he would have continued hiding from you forever, if not that chance encounter at Charlie's birthday". Good thing that Andres did it for me, sort of.

Irene

News flash: it's not funny. And neither are comments that sound like they're written by a certain tangerine-colored despot.

"LADO":

Irene: You can expect Jennifer to continue milking Charlie dry until the end of this TN. I call her the female Ernesto: manipulating kids into hating people.

1.) Ernesto successfully poisoning Alondra against Sofia & Co.,

2.) Jennifer is poisoning Charlie against Max: I wonder what's she going to do against Charles' 3 siblings (Karina, Tomas, Rodrigo) ?

3.) Joel is STUPID. Patrick told him to get out of the Mexican Consulate (wondering if they've got some escape patch out there).

4.) Eliza is also STUPID. I do NOT want her to be with anybody. If I was Eliza, I'd better be worried about Jennifer calling ICE to your house & deporting your ass.

Anonymous 4:38, while sometimes we are the only ones that will laugh out loud at our own jokes and we fail at our attempts to be funny, as long as the joke is not outright offensive, there is no reason to get upset. Moreover, the scroll down button is a great feature that allows us to ignore comments written by people that we don't like and the best thing is that the person writing the comment won't even know that we totally ignored it.
I personally don't think that that particular comment by Steve was offensive and was actually taken aback by the insult at the end of your comment. It certainly didn't contribute to the good atmosphere and had an opposite effect of what you probably wanted to achieve, for me in any case.

Irene

Lado

Irene, you're right about Eliza not focusing on the fact that he was a content bigamist for 4 years. The battle will be between Andres and Steve, but Max will feel betrayed if it's Steve.

I like that Karina and Charlie hit it off instantly. He's a lonely kid who likes his new siblings. Someone mentioned that Charlie may need a transplant. I can see Eliza and her kids taking the high road and choosing to help him.

Spanish Student

Lado

Spanish Student, I must have missed the bit about Charlie's needing a transplant (one of probably dozens of things I miss in each episode), but I love the idea that Eliza and her kids might choose to help him. I confess that I love it especially because it will stick in Jennifer's craw. (Oh, yes, and also because Charlie really is a lovable kid.)

Lado:

Spanish Student, I hope Andres was persuasive enough for Eliza to understand that Max is a non-option, but Eliza is so very forgiving that I wouldn't be surprised if she gives Max another chance (I hope my TV is strong enough to face the barrage of things that I will throw at it if it happens).

I think Eliza friend-zoned Andres long ago and their interactions are decidedly unromantic, so I think Steve has a much better chance with Eliza.

It's very probable that one of Eliza's children will eventually donate bone marrow to Charlie. I am not sure why bone marrow transplant wasn't yet mentioned, it could have generated all sorts of interesting plots, such as Jennifer trying to manipulate Max into having another child with her so that that child could be Charlie's donor, or Max trying to find his children so that they could be Charlie's donors.

Irene

"LADO":

Juanita: The big question is will Jennifer prevent Karina, Tomas & Rodrigo to give Charles a transplant ? I mean we see her outright hostility towards them & she refers to them as "bastards".

Let's see what Jennifer's got cooking up tonight.

Spanish Student: What would happen if there's a 4th wheel to all of this battle over Eliza ? I know we've got Deadbeat Daddy Max (who abandoned Eliza & the kids leaving them in extreme poverty for 10 years), Steven (whose phone conversation sounded very suspicious) & Andres.

Irene: I wouldn't be shocked if Jennifer drugs Max, rapes him & gets PREGGERS.

Lado

I don't remember anyone on the show saying that Charlie's disease would be helped by a transplant. What I do remember is Caray folks predicting Max's possible death from donating "something" to Charlie. Maybe I missed it, but I still think this is just speculation on our part and that no member of Charlie's medical team has suggested he needs a transplant.

Of course, that would be a wonderful TN development and maybe that's why it's been mentioned by us a couple of times.

Lado

I mentioned a possible transplant and feel its a likely plot since Max indicated they returned to LA for experimental treatment and the disease Charlie has is in the blood. Just a theory.

Max the coward should die giving his life for his family...its the least he could do after his weak duplicity and abandonment, He will go bonkers when he finds out about Steve’s interest in Eliza. But I’m not sold on Steve for Eliza given his knowledge and history with Max...plus he’s a little dry.

I need to revisit the 3 episodes leading to Sofia’s disappearance...to see how much she revealed to Alondra...but I agree that Ernie will brainwash his daughter. I only hope that she learns the truth early and works with her mom from the inside to bring him down.

Will be interesting to see how Julian responds to the truth. He’s a spoiled entitled brat but I don’t see that he’has knowlwedw of the dirty business or is as horrible as his dad but we will see.

unfortunately he was surrounded by sharks..

Thanks, Anonymous 8:32PM, for reminding everyone of the Telemundo pages policy, that includes the statement "By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews." I also want to make clear, however, that there's nothing wrong with speculating about what will happen, as Nett apparently did more than a month ago. As long as the speculation is not based on previews, trailers, synopses, etc., it's fine.

Al Otro Lado del Muro - Capítulo 25 - Parte 1 de 2

We again see Ernesto tell Alondra that he has to go. He'll leave the door open, but please don't go away. He wants to talk with her further.

Eliza explains to Steve that Ernesto Martinez is a criminal. Sofia asked Eliza to care for Alondra as if she were her own daughter and not let Ernesto find her. Steve wants to help Eliza locate Alondra. Does she have papers? he asks. Only false ones that Sofia bought for crossing the border. The first thing to do, says Steve, is to find out whether the police have her. Eliza offers to go with him.

Jennifer [hiss here] tries to prevent Max from seeing Charlie in the hospital. She claims that Charlie doesn't want to see him.

At the Mexican consulate, we see Joel sneaking through the hall, gun drawn. No one can see him, since the security screens have mysteriously stopped working. [What a coincidence!] He enters a room and closes the door. Suddenly, a fire alarm sounds and smoke appears. Alondra goes to a barred window and screams for help [why didn't she just flee out the door that had been left open?]. Joel appears and leads her out of the building [probably using an invisibility cloak borrowed from Harry Potter].

Meanwhile, in Ernesto's office, Paula berates him for seeming to kidnap a young woman. "You can't just do whatever you feel like in this country," she tells him. "Why didn't you call me?" she asks. "I first had to make sure (cerciorarme)," Ernesto replies. "Make sure of what?" Paula asks. He tell her. When the fire alarm goes off, Ernesto panics: "No, no, no, no, no" he yells as he races from his office to the room where he left Alondra. She's not there, and no one has seen her leave. Ernesto returns to his office. Paula is suspicious. How did Alondra get out without anyone seeing her? She's always been very smart, says Ernesto. Paula has her doubts: "Is she so smart that she knows how to start fires from a distance, avoid security cameras, and vanish without a trace?"

Eliza and Steve return to Eliza's. They've learned that neither the police nor ICE have Alondra. She could be with her father, says Steve. The door opens, Alondra enters and embraces Eliza.

Tomás and Frida are at a club where many performers have had their start. Frida tells him that she's lucky, she has Mark helping her to achieve her dreams. Tomás says that what she has is not luck but talent. When she doesn't believe him, he takes her up to the empty stage and announces, "Ladies and gentlemen, I want to present the most beautiful and talented woman I know: Frida!" She begins to sing, and the band miraculously accompanies her. Her performance is a great success. The audience enthusiastically yells "Otra, otra, otra" ["another" or "encore"]. Frida is ecstatic.

Richard is with Sofia when Patrick calls. Richard tells Sofia that Alondra is safely at home. Joel enters and finds them. Joel and Sofia get into a shouting match about who is to blame for what. Richard gets between them and says they'll talk tomorrow when they're calmer.

Ernesto returns to his new house, Julian asks where Paula is. At her new apartment, says Ernesto. Julian is surprised and disappointed that she's not going to live with them. "The press would have a field day if they learned that my assistant was living in my house," Ernesto explains. Julian, suddenly tired, tries to leave, but Ernesto tells him they have to talk. "Your sister appeared." "I thought she was in Switzerland," says Julian. "The time has come to tell you the truth," says Ernesto.

The scene shifts to Eliza's, where Alondra iis apparently watching Ernesto's "truth": she replays a video of the newscast about her mother's crimes, ending in her being sentenced to death. [She has watched this video many times. I'm not sure I understand why.]

Lado - Cap. 25 - Parte 2 de 2

The next day Eliza has a talk with Alondra. She asks Alondra how she could believe that her mother is a criminal. "That's her half of the story," says Alondra."Ernesto's is different. I don't know what to think." She asks Eliza whether she has any proof that her mother is innocent. Eliza replies that her heart tells her that Sofia was telling the truth.

Loving mother Jennifer [hiss here] tells Charlie that his father has abandoned them. According to her, he prefers to be with his other children. She assures Charlie that she will never leave him.

Max comes to see Charlie. Charlie tells him Jennifer [hiss here] said he was bored with Charlie and liked his other children better because they're healthy, and so he went back to live with them. Max convinces Charlie that he loves him, he enjoys every minute he's with him, and he would never leave him.

Jennifer [hiss here] talks to Dr. Pedroza, the specialist, about Charlie. The doctor tells her that Charlie's condition is worsening and that he needs a bone marrow transplant ASAP. Moreover, it's often hard for the father to be a donor. The best thing would be for a sibling to be the donor, but Jennifer doesn't have any other children. Without a transplant, Charlie has 6 months to live, at best a year. [We in Viewerville can see where this is heading!]

Tomás and Karina are talking when along comes 66 and several of his fellow thugs. "You owe me money," he tells Tomás. Karina tells 66 to leave her brother alone or she'll call the police. 66 finds her feistiness amusing. Tomás tells her to go on to school. After she has left, 66 says he wants his money tonight, or else he'll have to turn to Tomás's sister (carnalita).

Sofia comes to Joel's place and apologies for her conduct the previous night. She also thanks him for saving her daughter. She finally tells him, "I didn't kill your sister. I swear." He doesn't know whether to believe her. Sofia leaves so Joel can answer a phone call. It's from Lenora, his fiancée. He tells her that things have gotten very complicated. [She should only know!] He finally agrees to come see her next weekend.

Julian comes to Paula's office and shows her the video that includes Sofia trying to scale the fence. "It's Sofia, Paula." Paula claims not to be sure. "The woman looks like Sofia, but there's no possibility of its being Sofia. Sofia is dead." "What if she's deceived us?" asks Julian. He says they can talk further in her apartment this evening with a bottle of wine. On one condition, says Paula: don't mention this video to your father. Julian leaves, and as soon as he's gone, Paula calls Pastrana: "Are you in LA? It's urgent that I see you."

Richard, Joel, and Patrick meet to discuss the video of Sofia at the fence. Joel says they have to assume that people will recognize her. We have to be proactive, not reactive. [I have no idea what if anything he has in mind.]

Alondra is walking to school with the audio from the news announcement about Sofia running in her head. Suddenly Ernesto emerges from a large black SUV and tells her he has the evidence he mentioned to her yesterday. She hesitantly enters the car. Ernesto shows her the video of Joel and Sofia kissing. Alo says, "The fact that she has a lover doesn't mean she's a criminal." He then shows her another video featuring a young girl testifying that she saw Sofia at the ranch where the kidnapped girls were being held. The girl recognized her as the wife of the governor. End of episode.

"LADO":

Juanita: My personal thoughts.

1.) Alondra becoming successfully brainwashed before our eyes.

2.) Get used to seeing Ernesto & the EVIL Alliance keep winning.

3.) I KNEW Pastrana was back. Which means the Body Count will likely increase soon!

4.) Frida & Tomas as a couple ? If Tomas can stop hanging out with the gangs.

5.) Karma needs to hit Julian at some point. At this point, it's hopeless. He reminds me of Erick Montenegro of "PyP".

6.) Eliza has no papers. She's in big trouble AGAIN.

7.) Jennifer AKA Deborah Sanders 2.0 will manipulate Deadbeat Max into having sex with her, so that she can have another baby.

8.) Now that Paula, Julian know Sofia is alive, what will the FBI do now ?

Lado

Is it just me or does Joel's fiance have similar facial features to Sofia. He has a type I guess.

So I guess Alondra didnt know as much as I thought she knew about her dad and his criminal activity....so Alondra wiĺl be brainwashed. The bad guys win again.

Cant believe Tom is getting sucked in and stuck with the gang...he has to find a way out...soon. His family will always be threatened so he has to think.

Jen will always hate the othwr family...how will she justify having them deported after harvesting their cells. She us heartles so we know she will do just that.

Juanita, thank you, you captured many details i missed.

The writing requires constant adjustment of my beanie.

66 'pimping' Tomas, instead of Benny, is ridiculous. This thug claims he's his god and wants to be first his life or he'll attack his mom, sister, etc. I cant envision what will take him out but I can't wait till he's dead and buried. Tomas going along with it betrays his supposed common sense (that we saw when he counseled Benny). But maybe it's also about him meeting Frida. I wonder how Mark will react to both of them.

Jennifer, this is borderline psycho drama. As arrogant as she is (she also thinks she's god(dess)), she's really just a lonely idiot with no real family, friends or career. Arrogance from class privilege not intelligence. She knows she would be left alone if Charlie died or chose to stay with his dad (where is Max staying anyway?). And exactly what was running through Jennifer's mind in the doctors office...what game will she play to get the support of the people she emotionally or physically abuses every chance she gets?

Julian discussed Sofia with Paula instead of Ernesto. He knows from personal experience that Paula is the 'fixer'. He didn't show an interest in meeting Alondra either. Can't wait till his love triangle explodes.

Alondra was smart...a kiss doesn't mean Sofia trafficks children (plus her lover was an interpol officer Investigating her dad). I hope she also realizes that a child sex slave will lie to protect herself from her sadistic abusers. She seems pretty knowledgeable about the press coverage so she should ask (herself) why her daddy is presenting new evidence and how a presidential candidate in a politically corrupt country could be 100% innocent but Sofia, the trophy housewife, 100% guilty. I'd love to see her reunite with her mom but doing so now is risky.

For once Joel is right...better to be proactive. If he only knew that all 3 of them were spotted.

I don't think anyone could have written a better recap Juanita, that was so nice to read, thanks!

if I could embellish a few things,

the scene where Joel returns home (only to see Richard embracing Sofia, hrrghf) he mentions that Alo said nothing on the way home, but that he saw Ernesto talking to her, this was where Sofia flips, if Ernesto has found her, then her 8 years in prison were for nothing, and somehow Joel is the blame for that, tall diplomatic Richard breaks them up.

the next day Sofia returns to apologize, where she states flat out she did not kill Irene, she sees he does not believe her, but Joel says he is searching for the truth, even if it takes a lifetime, but he should not jump to conclusions before he knows, and they agree to drop the anger between them.

I keep forgetting that Katrina and Tomas are twins, but she is on to him, hmm, she is on to everyone, she kind of needs a life of her own.

Eliza just walks into a room and makes everything shine, what a nice talk she had with Alo.

of all the evil scenarios I never saw Julian running to Paula, interesting how Paula plays everything down on the surface but has people killed behind the scenes, she knows men very well.

(interesting to note, Ernesto seems to be bypassing Paula quite a bit, as in he told Paula he was going to see Irv, when he went to see Alo)

Nett, I too think Lorena looks a lot like Sofia, hmm.

Spanish, what a good description of Jen.

for viewers of Sangre, Jen reminds me of Roberto, who may very well be in that same hospital.

Lado

Thanks so much, Juanita. Terrific recap. And I loved all your asides. We inveterate telenovela watchers love to mock the crazy things these writers come up with. And, Interpol must pay really well. Apparently Joel can afford to fly to Colombia for a weekend.

Spanish Student, I'm with you. I can't WAIT to see 66 in a dumpster.

Jennifer is going to have to think fast to get one of Charlie's half siblings to donate bone marrow. I think Rodrigo is the most likely candidate. He's such a good hearted boy.

I could have screamed when Julián went to Paula about recognizing Sofía. Logic dictates Pastrana would not be able to find her, in witness protection, with a different name, in a huge city like LA. But I'm sure he'll have found her before the end of the week.

Speaking of magical powers, how did Ernesto find Alondra in that same huge city?

Jennifer is just the ghastliest person. I can't even imagine telling a child his father left them for his "other family", even a healthy child.

Lado

novelera, Paula knows all about Alo and has had her watched over the years, I'm assuming Ernesto had her spill, hmm, did Richard say he had a couple guys watching her?

Lado

Novelera, I also wondered how Ernesto located Alondra so easily. That means Patrana will do the same with Sofia or Joel. Didn't Pastrana sneak in Irene's apt where Joel is staying? That can't be good.

Jennifer released her ghastliness on her own son...lying to an already sad and sick child that his beloved dad easily dismissed him (what she forced him to do with his other kids). Was she really happy with her blackmagic ...seeing Charlie turn away in sadness. She betrays herself by not letting him enjoy whatever time he has.

Whenever the men are fighting, the women/children are in trouble. I worry about Alondra and now Karina...the traffickers and gangbangers are too close for comfort.

Spanish Student

Lado

MANY THANKS, deb and novelera, for your very kind words and terrific comments.

deb, I loved your "embellishments," which add so much. And I especially enjoyed your comparing Jen to Roberto [hiss here] in Sangre, and your observation that perhaps he's in that same hospital. :-)

novelera, didn't Ernesto recognize Alondra at least tentatively when she threw her boot at him? That's what I assumed when he told Paula that he hadn't said anything to her (Paula) because he first had to make sure (sure that it was Alondra).

Lado

Spanish Student, sorry that I overlooked your earlier message. Many thanks for your appreciative remark and your very insightful comments.

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I kinda like 66. I'm sure he will do something to permanently set my moral compass straight, but right now I rather enjoy him. And I don't think it was ridiculous for him to use Tomás instead of Benny. Benny looks like a gang member, whereas Tomás has that clean-cut fresa look that can gain him access to places Benny probably couldn't go so easily. And now he also knows that Tomás has cojones, which might work to 66's advantage (as well as to his disadvantage).

Lado

Juanita...I had a similar understanding....Ernie didnt find Alondra so much as she found him. He wanted to meet the girl that threw the shoe. He did seem to confirm immediately after seeing her face up close who she was so I guess he did have a clue at the rally and went to confirm.

Jen is a horrible excuse for a person. She uses Charlie to hold on to Max ansd now she tries to hurt Max by turning Charlie against him. For all she knew..Charlie has limited time left in this world....but instead of making him comfortable .....she lies to him and shakes his trust and foundation.... I know now that Charlie will survive so perhaps Jen will meet her end....soon.

Lado

Juanita, I certainly see your point...the actor/writers/director have intentionally made 66 a laughable idiot. They excel at bringing chaos/unexpected twists to this nocela. Gotta expect the unexpected.

And Pastrana, Paula's ever-efficient flunky, will return to outmaneuver our international/interpol detectives who are forever stuck on the simplest tasks.

Spanish Student

Juanita, thank for the treat of your absolutely amazing recap. It was so funny and insightful at the same time. I especially loved all the Jennifer [hiss here], the Harry Potter reference with the invisibility cloak and the "I have no idea what if anything he has in mind" about Joel.

What Jennifer does to Charlie has to be considered emotional child abuse and someone has to report her to the child welfare services. She is literally hastening her child's death, since I am sure it is not healthy for him to hear such horrible things in his fragile state and Max needs to man up and tell Jennifer that he will report her if she continues to abuse their son, bigamy charges be damned! A suspended sentence or a couple of months in jail are nothing compared to the damage that Jennifer can inflict on Charlie's psyche and on his will to live.

Max should have paid whatever price there is to pay for bigamy from the beginning. He would have suffered for a short amount of time and then would have been free to live his life, be with his other children and give Charlie a much saner life, where his parents are not arguing constantly or ignoring each other for days.

What is Jennifer's end game in any case? I don't think she gains anything from further alienating Max. He might just snap and turn himself in, and then she will have no leverage whatsoever.

Irene

Also, Julian must have psychic abilities to correctly identify Sophia in that grainy image. She was almost completely covered with a hoody and sunglasses and nothing about her is identifiable, especially to someone who last saw her 10 years ago at the tender age of 11. Oh well, I will resort to my trusted beanie once again.

Irene

"LADO":

Irene: Jennifer's angle is to have Eliza & her kids deported back to Mexico, where they belong. If that doesn't work, she'll call the Mexican Consulate General's office in Los Angeles & have them "take care" of Eliza & her kids.

Pastrana, the Latino B613 will make the Body Count bigger.

Lado

After reading all of the negative comments about Jennifer and Max (things we've been saying for weeks) i realized just how much these two deserve each other. The perfect sadomasochistic relationship. Eliza probably wouldn't have been able to deal with him, full time, anyway. So I'm rooting for Andres since Steve doesn't have much of a personality. And as Eliza said to Andres (per Novelera): A ti te hicieron y rompieron el molde. (They broke the mold when they made you.)

Lado

Muchísimas gracias, Irene, for your very appreciative remarks and your astute comments. I agree that Jennifer's horrendous treatment of Charlie constitutes child abuse. She claims to love him, but her behavior gives a very different message. She's such a sicko that I wouldn't be surprised if she's reluctant to have any of Eliza's kids serve as the much-needed donor.

And you raise a very good point about Julian's recognizing Sofia. The hoody and glasses do a pretty good job of masking her features. However, let's keep in mind that all sorts of unlikely things are possible in Novelaland. It's important to keep your beanie close at hand at all times. :-)

Lado… Episode 26-March 28: Part 1
• We open with Eliza discussing the Alondra situation with Andreas….as Eliza is upset to know that Ernie is back on the scene. Andreas leaves her with the fact that Alondra is old enough to make her own decisions. He tries to console her by telling her she’s done a great with Alondra. Eliza is concerned about Alondra falling in the clutches of Ernie since she swore to Sofia to protect her from him.
• Richard, Joel and Patrick discuss the Alondra/Ernie/ situation and overall investigation. Joel and Rich have a disagreement….. on how much and how to tell Sofia about Ernie, I think (help). They also discuss the delicate situation of staying on task now that Ernie is in L.A. …. Ultimately Rich reminds Joel to stay focused on the original mission of going after Cummings. Rich pulls Joel aside and calls him out on his goal of incriminating Sofia
• Paula and Pastrana watch the video of Sofia but I don’t catch the details of the conversation. It appears that Pastrana has his orders to get to the bottom of it.
• “Grandparents” (Andreas/Eliza) along with Santiago and Raquel dote over the grand baby. Eliza receives a text and doesn’t disclose who it’s from when Andreas asks. She then leaves….
• Joel and Rich continue to spare over Sofia...finally Rich tells Joel to leave Sofia alone. Joel then tells Rich he’s getting too attached to Sofia….and he should be careful.
• In class Alondra thinks back to her escape from Mexico with her mom… Deep in thought, she cuts her hand. Karrin tries to get her to talk but she refuses. Outside of class, Tom catches up with her and tries to find out what’s going on.
• Raquel talks with Andreas about moving on with his life…as his wife has been dead for years now. He confesses that he didn’t think he’d feel that way about anyone again but he has feelings for Eliza. Raquel suggests he talks to her but he fears she’ll reject him if she approaches her.
• Tom and Alondra discuss their deadbeat dads. I didn’t catch all the conversation but Alondra rides off on her bike as Joel watches and follows. She figures out that he’s following her. They stop and confront each other and she does to Joel…what I wish all of Max’s kids would do to him… she gives him a big slap.
• Alondra is pretty hostile but he’s able to convince her to hear him out.
• Rich and Sofia discuss the Cummings situation.
Rich makes a promise to Sofia….but I didn’t catch the details. He also discusses being thrown off the case….but again, I didn’t catch the details.
• Joel and Alondra discuss the past and his role as an agent. She fires at him, calling him corrupt agent and tells him about the video of him kissing her mom in the Mexican shop.
• He tells her he knows her dad is putting crazy thoughts in her head…she counters to him about believing her mom killed her sister. He starts in on how complicated things are and she bolts from the car

Lado… Episode 26-March 28: Part 2

• Rich takes a call on his cell but then asks Sofia if he can use her phone…I don’t catch why he couldn’t use his own phone. Anyway, he uses her bedroom phone, giving her a chance to listen in on another phone. With this she finds out the Joel is being followed as he tracks Alondra. She’s able to pinpoint where they are. When Rich finishes the call, he returns to the living room and finds that Sofia has already left. (OK you guys…what did I miss…did Rich claim his cell was dying…and that’s why he needed to use her phone).
• We find out that Eliza rushed back to the shop to meet Max who has come with gifts in hands. (I wish Alondra was there to tell Eliza to slap him silly). Anyway, Max and Eliza discuss the kids, and the good ole times. He’s brought her a gift as well…..a perfume she likes which causes her to reminisce about the last time they were together.
• At gangland…Benny is all in…now has a gun and is cool with 66…and is waving the gun around.
• Max tries to make a move on Eliza and she allows him to get a little too close. (How easy one forgets). Anyway, they do the nasty ….guess it’s been awhile for her so she forgets all about the 10 years of abandonment and him doing the nasty with Jen during all those years.
• We find that Alondra has gone to visit her mom’s grave. There she cries and screams at her mom’s headstone, stating that she betrayed and fooled her with her lies. Sofia looks on from afar as Alondra screams out she hates her.
• Sofia attempts to go Alondra but Joel is there to stop her…yet again… from revealing herself.
• Back at gangland, Tom is pushing back on 66 about stealing and being a part of that life and tells him he’s not a gangster as 66 tries to buy him with cash. He tries to walk away and take Benny with him…but Benny has obviously found his new family and stays put.
• Alondra rides off on her bike. Joel continues to restrain Sofia...who’s pained by Alondra’s suffering.
• Ernie with drink in hand…remembers his good work on Alondra….when he filled her head with all kinds of lies about her mom and pleaded with her to come back to him. His sly smile indicates that he’s pleased with his efforts. Julia walks in and asks what he’s doing there. He brushes off what he’s suppose to be doing and he tells her about Alondra and that she will soon be back in the fold. Julie is interested and expresses concern about other business.
• We cut back to Max and Eliza… and what I hope is her last roll in the hay with him. ….we then cut to Jen walking into an empty and quiet house. She remembers the Dr telling her Charlie might have 6 mos to live if he’s not cured. She then breaks down and screams……Why my Son. If not for these words…we’d be left to think that she’s crying because she only has 6 mos to try to hold on to Max

Lado… Episode 26-March 28: Part 3

• In the afterglow…Max talks about how many times he thought of Eliza and the kids and their reunion and life. She tells him to go…because she doesn’t want the kids to find them together. She doesn’t want the kids to think that their problems have been resolved. She tells him to hurry more than once.
• Steve visits Charlie in the hospital. Charlie asked Steve about his parents divorcing and the other family….As Steve tries to assure him about his dad, the housekeeper calls him about Jen’s breakdown. Before leaving Steve does the right thing and tells him his dad loves him.
• Tom catches up with Ben to discuss what’s going on with him and the gang. Ben indicates he’s all in…and tells Tom not to mess with him.
• Raquel and Andreas discuss him approaching Eliza as he contemplates putting on a dinner jacket. She’s encouraging but Andreas is not so confident. Raquel gives him great advice…telling him about his good qualities and just to be himself.
• In departing Max…is confronted by Tom who has just made it home. Tom is hostile, and asks him why he’s there and reminds him to leave the family alone.
• Joel tells Sofia about his conversation with Alondra…..and she knows about them and showed him the video.

Great recap, Nett. I don't usually read recaps before watching the episode but I'm glad I did.

I gasped when I read about Max and Eliza. I surely hope they used protection. Eliza is probably not on birth control and Max sucks at fatherly support. And I hope this long-awaited release doesn't leave her whipped. I'd prefer that he long after her and face rejection.

Shame, I just voted for Andres today. He's gonna have to bide his time and maybe do a little dating in between.

Wow, Nett! Another amazing recap! I'm astonished that you're able to get so much and write it all down while watching just one time. You've covered everything I can think of that happened in this episode. Many thanks!

Like you, I would like to know more about the scene between Paula and Pastrana. Paula tells him she thinks the woman in the video is Sofia. Pastrana says that's not possible, she died. Paula says that it's possible that the woman is just someone who looks like Sofia, but she (Paula) wants to be sure, and she asks Pastrana to investigate. She doesn't like loose ends (cabos sueltos). But then she says something I didn't understand. She says perhaps they can begin por saber quién subió esto a la red. I wish I knew what that means.

You also asked about what excuse Richard uses to use Sofia's phone rather than his. He tells her his battery died. I guess he wanted a reason to call from a different room so Sofia wouldn't hear. Oops!

I loved your saying that Alondra does to Joel what you wish Max's kids would do to him--slap him. (Actually, I'd say she slugged him pretty hard.)

One very small glitch: both in your first recap and again today, you sometimes call Paula Julia.

Again, muchas gracias.

Lado

wow, terrific recap Nett, I like your style!

if I got this right, Paula isn't sure if that is Sofia, and I think Pastrana's comment is, let's start with who posted the video, what?

so there is Joel and Richard each telling the other not to cross the line with Sofia, ha!

yep, Richard said his battery was dying, but he stopped by to tell Sofia he was dropping Joel from the case, ah but Sofia talked him out of it, she is looking for a fast resolution, so she can end her hiding and figures Joel can help (not that she wants to be around him).

and I'm thinking Sofia, Joel, and Alondra are all the same, they don't listen to anyone and they act on impulse, what a family this will make.

did Tom keep the money from 66?

at least 66 doesn't run his gang like in "Bajo el mismo cielo", or Bennie would catch on a lot quicker what it is all about.

I think the english caps had Jen crying, why is my son dying, and not hers?

you did a wonderful job of capturing the Max/Eliza reunion, I was busy throwing things at the time, so Max is all ready to move it, but Eliza says we shouldn't rush things, and my question is, WHERE IS CARMEN?

LADO

WOW Nett, another outstanding recap and you put it up so quick.

The worst/ucky part for me was seeing Eliza and WUSS COWARD Max rolling in the hay. I just hope Eliza only gave in to Max because she had a 10 year drought that she was anxious to "water".

Didn't y'all get a kick out of the height difference between Joel and Richard. Richard could use Joel's head as a desk.

Al in all, I thought this episode was the most boring one yet.

But again, it had a cliffhanger of an end.

Thanks to all the recappers that make it possible for me to read the recaps and comments at 3 am.

Victoria: Mark this as a victory for Ernesto as Alondra turns EVIL!

Make Ernesto GREAT AGAIN!

I fast forwarded Eliza & Max escapade. Plus, I wonder how long before Pastrana catches one of them. I mean, the Body Count is likeky to increase soon.

Nett: Loved your recap. Very precise.

Deb: You knew it was only a matter of time before Alondra turns EVIL. It's in the genes!

Nett, your recap was absolutely masterful.

I enjoyed every word and especially loved "They stop and confront each other and she does to Joel…what I wish all of Max’s kids would do to him… she gives him a big slap","they do the nasty ….guess it’s been awhile for her so she forgets all about the 10 years of abandonment and him doing the nasty with Jen during all those years" and " If not for these words…we’d be left to think that she’s crying because she only has 6 mos to try to hold on to Max". It's like you read my mind.

I am speechless about the Eliza and Max' unromantic romantic encounter. For f--k's sake, this man cheated on you for 4 years, married someone else for money while still married to you, abandoned you with two children in a foreign country without a cent and couldn't care less whether you lived or died and all it takes is a measly bottle of perfume for you to fall in the sack with him again? This was so nauseating, i kept thinking it can't be real, it must be another dream sequence. No such luck. For me, this plot damaged beyond repair my impression of Eliza and I suddenly lost any interest I had in her storyline. I can't understand where the writers are going with all this? Do they really think anyone can find this even remotely romantic or engaging? And why am I so upset about a behavior of a fictional telenovela character?

I always thought that Joel has the intelligence of a gnat. In this episode, he, as usual, didn't disappoint. From his gem of idiocy to Richard "you have to think inside the box, not outside the box" to his "productive" talk to Alondra that only served to cement her distrust of her mother and pushed her closer to her father, which is exactly the opposite of what was needed to achieve, I keep wondering how such an incompetent nincompoop was hired by the Interpol.

Irene

Victoria,
"Richard could use Joel's head as a desk"- that's the only good use Joel's would have. I think his one brain cell died long ago and now only the autonomic nervous system keeps him going.

This telenovela surely doesn't suffer from lack of terrible protagonists. Between Max and Joel, I don't know whom I dislike more. Maybe Benny. I know, we are not supposed to hate children, but he is the absolute worst. He ruined Thomas' life, and now is happily playing with guns with his new pandillero friends, instead of begging Thomas for forgiveness and doing everything he can to get Thomas off the hook.

"LADO":

Irene: Alondra is a LOST CAUSE! I NEVER liked her from the get-go.

However, I do hope these anvils have her name on it down the road.

I also do NOT see a happy ending here for anyone.

Let me join late in the chorus of praise, Nett. I love your style and the snark you put in there!

I'm not liking the Alondra plot. It doesn't add up to me that a girl who regularly went to her mother's grave, who saw the pictures of little girls in Cummings house, who saw how brave her mother was getting her away would suddenly believe what her father said completely. And, as far as I could tell, even though Ernesto told her he had proof that her mother was the one running the child trafficking ring, the only "proof" he showed her was the picture of Joel and Sofía kissing in the convenience store.

And I'm not liking Joel very much, although I do sense he's now having doubts about Sofía's guilt. My personal name for him is El Sapo because he kind of looks like a frog to me. LOVED the comment that Richard could use his head as a desk!

I won't be sorry when Bennie gets shot in a drive-by. The little sh*t was the one who dragged Tomás into his mess. Tomás came to where 66 lives and saved him. And now he fronts as a gang guy and tells Tomás to watch himself!

Yep, our lovely Jennifer raged at her fate asking why one of Eliza's kids couldn't die in place of Charlie. Apparently the penny still hasn't dropped in her pea brain that one of Charlie's half siblings could save his life.

Tomás gave 66 back the money. I re-watched it twice to be sure.

Again, I'm a contrarian. I thought Eliza used poor judgment getting into bed with Max, but I didn't find it disgusting. They were deeply in love. They've showed several flashback scenes of how great the sex was between them. It was a tender and pretty hot scene. I was just afraid Andrés would somehow discover them. But Tomás caught them hand in hand in the bakery.

The scene with Andrés and Raquel was so sweet. She told him he looked like a movie star (yep!) but he is so humble he doesn't know if he can win over Eliza. I'm worried about him. He's probably primed to approach her; but, fresh from her encounter with Max, she'll probably just let him down gently.

Richard asked Sofia to promise him that she wouldn't do anything stupid, and two minutes later... As someone already stated, Joel, Sofia, and Alondra may end up being one impulsive, hotheaded family.

Benny under 66's influence = disaster waiting to happen.

With all the talk of Eliza being a good mother/grandmother, I can't help but think that she and Max may have conceived another child. But i doubt they'll raise it together.

Jennifer wondered why her child, and not Eliza's, has to die....porque no mueren los de ella. Made me wonder if her suffering was justified.

Andres deserves happiness with or without Eliza.

Alondra hating her mom is a blessing in disguise. She'll probably live with her dad, discover the truth about him and his corrupt associates, and realize what her mom and Eliza have done...for her.

Lado:

Spanish Student, you might be right about Eliza conceiving another child. They could go with cord blood donation for Charlie, which is the best possible donation in those cases.

With every passing episode there are less and less characters that I find myself invested in.
Right now, it's down to Sophia, Andres, Steve and Charlie.
I can't stand the pandilla storyline and hate what they did with Alondra's feisty character. And Karina does nothing but chastise Alondra and/or her brother all day long, they really to give her something else to do.

Okay this comment is not a spoiler it's just conjecture.

What if Alondra goes to live with her father and together with Julian they discover all of Ernesto's bad doings and are key in turning him into the FBI/Interpol?

What if one of Eliza's kids saves Charlie with a bone marrow transplant and Jennifer backs down and allows Max to be free? However, hopefully, Eliza does NOT take him back because she has hooked up with either Steve or Andrés. Cast your vote please.

Joel is such a loser and so maddening that I truly hope Sofia ends up with Richard who is much more appealing to me. What are the chances that in the end the supposed galán doesn't win the Princess.

I can't think of a way that Sofia gets Alondra back (surely she goes to live with Ernesto) unless she comes out of hiding. I need a Beenie for this storyline because why didn't Sofia just move to 'ten-buck-two' with Alondra, instead of giving Alondra up'. I guess Sofia entering the Witness Protection Program in exchange for her life was the selling point.

What if Alondra goes to live with Ernesto and he learns the value of a girl's life and then resigns from child trafficking and turns himself in to the authorities? No way, I know.

"LADO":

Spanish Student: I do NOT see Bratty Alondra realizing the entire truth until the Gran Final. However, for now, we'll get used to seeing her get more EVIL & yes, she's impulsive, arrogant, believing her Daddy's LIES & FAKE NEWS, etc.,

On Andres: I don't see him getting Eliza in the end. He'll find some other woman to fall in love with.

Victoria: I do NOT see Alondra & Julian turning their Daddy into the FBI & Interpol since he's got Slimy United States Senator Irving Hastings (R-TX) to stop this investigation in it's tracks.

Joel is an IDIOT & Sofia is a bigger IDIOT. I just do NOT trust Richard because of his secret phone call.

As for Tomas, I'm sensing a tragic ending for him all because of dumbass Benny. That "Sunshine" Gangster will do something horrible to Frida in which Tomas will get blamed & possibly sent to prison.

Ernesto still has his eyes on Los Pinos (Residence of the President) in a future Presidential campaign. It's quite obvious he's just using this Mexican Consul General to Los Angeles, CA as a stepping down for his next political campaign.

On Eliza's kids saving Charles, I'm betting Jennifer will have one of them losing their life during the surgery somehow just to stick it to Eliza.

Irene: I like Karina, but she needs to aware of Alondra from now on since Bratty Alondra will unleash her evilness on her too.

Let's not forget Pastrana is back, looking to add to the Body Count. We still don't know how Maria (Andres' wife) died, considering she let Eliza, Sofia & the kids living at her house, etc.,

LADO

Steve you are so wicked!! Please be wrong about one of Eliza's kids dying after donating bone marrow to Charlie.

Maybe Tomás will become a spy for the Los Angeles DEA and help them capture a bunch of drug gangsters.

I'm sorry to those who like '66. I have to close my eyes when '66 is on the screen. It's hard to fast forward or reverse on Telemundo's app. I absolutely get sick when watching someone who has tattoos, even small ones turn me off. Channeling Ben Affleck here.

Lado

Steve, My predictions re: our protagonists were for the end of the novela. It's much easier to predict the ending than what happens throughout...of which i have no clue.
