Papa A Toda Madre #57 4.6.18: One Breaking & Entering Charge Away from the Truth

Or Attack of the Wind Breaker Monster

Jorge confesses to Mauricio that he has new information regarding Maria, after speaking to the Guatemalan embassy, and Mauricio demands to know what he found out.

Outside, Veronica and Renee arrive with the kids, which run to hug and talk to Esperanza, as Renee sees Tono on his way over and notes how mad he looks. She thinks he and Veronica may be worse as a couple than before, but Veronica tells him they have other problems and promises to talk to her later. Tono greets Renee and hugs his kids as well as they hear thunder. Everyone decides to go inside their homes but Anifer wants to jump in puddles. Neron comes and tells Anifer that she’s going inside because she can’t catch a cold and leads her and Renee to Mauricio’s. As they walk, Renee sees the government employee and runs to Neron, so she can take Anifer to her house but Neron reminds her that she lives with Mauricio, loud enough for the employee to hear. Neron wonders what the problem is, as she does live with Mauricio, but Renee declares that she lives in her house and tries to give Neron a sign with her eyes to shut up.

At a jail in Guatemala, a female prisoner talks to another prisoner about her lawyer. The woman thinks the other prisoner should call him for help or reach out to her family in Mexico, but the woman explains that she has lost all hope as she has no one else. The woman retraces and states that she does have someone, though they can’t help, and takes out a picture of Anifer that was under her mattress. The hopeless prisoner is revealed to be Maria, very much alive, but confined to a jail cell.

At Mauricio’s, Jorge explains that Juan Perez and Fabian were telling the truth and Maria is a criminal because she has a very long rap sheet, as he saw during his investigation. Mauricio thinks they should leave it at that then, as he doesn’t want a criminal to know where Anifer is, because that would be worse.

As the government employee watches, Neron offers Renee is full support, should she need it, and goes home as Renee reiterates that she does live in her house, as she said before. The employee asks if Neron is lying then and Renee explains that she moved in to Mauricio’s recently, out of necessity, but she lived in that home all her life. She tells him that her mother also paid for everything in the house, but the employee can’t guarantee that things will turn out the way she wants. He suggests she come to an accord with the owner or his heir or find a document that states her mother was the legal owner of the home, because things could get more complicated than they already are. He then bids her good day and walks away.

Mauricio assumes Maria doesn’t want to know anything about Anifer, especially if she’s in jail, and prefers not to let Anifer know her mother is not dead but a criminal. Just then, Renee walks in with Anifer and they pretend to be talking about a business venture. Jorge reminds Mauricio that they have no money, but Mauricio thinks his great idea is enough to start. Renee overhears this and thinks it’s a great an idea to do a corporation where everyone puts the same amount of money and ideas and win the same as well. Mauricio smiles and asks Jorge to please trust him as he thinks there is great success in the future. Jorge final agrees but reminds Mauricio that his name is Jorge, yet again.

At Tono’s, the children do their homework with Esperanza, who is over the moon about how smart her grandchildren are. Well, only Tania and Fidel, as Ernesto is still more than distracted. Veronica sighs and Esperanza sends the kids to wash their hands, so she can prepare tacos for everyone except Tono. Tono is shocked that Esperanza behaves this way with him, but veronica is unsympathetic and asks him to please give Ernesto his pills as instructed. Tania comes then and shows her the ballet skirt that ripped, and Veronica promises to help her fix it. Once alone with Tono, he asks Veronica for some time to talk that night and Veronica reluctantly agrees before announcing that she’s leaving. Esperanza runs out of the kitchen and hands her a Tupperware as she says goodbye to everyone and leaves. Esperanza then sees Tono and asks why he’s sad; Tono reveals that he and a few others were fired today but he doesn’t want Veronica to know. Esperanza promises to keep quiet, unless Veronica asks, because she doesn’t want to be in the middle, and goes to the kitchen. Tono thanks her for nothing and sighs too.

Mauricio and Renee discuss his idea for a corporation and Renee is happy to help, however she can. Anifer wonders what toys they will do, as they can’t use Logatoys’ designs, and Mauricio reveals that he has a secret weapon under his sleeve. He then asks Renee to go to the kitchen with him, so they can talk outside of Anifer’s earshot. He thinks his company could be up and running in two months but then remembers that she will be gone by then. Renee thinks they should work on his idea regardless, as she can still help him out as a consultant, and Mauricio calls her his “favorite engineer” but Renee thinks she’s only one of the 25,000 he knows. Mauricio smiles as Renee goes back with Anifer. He tells them that he’s very to have his family with him and kisses them both. After a few kisses, Anifer demands he stop filling her face with spit and Renee and Mauricio laugh.

At Jorge’s, the girls clean the table and go wash the dishes as Samuel asks Baldo if he wants to play a video game with him. Baldo agrees as Jorge announces that they shouldn’t play video games all day because it’s bad. Samuel wonders if he’s going back to work but Jorge must review some papers and will stay home. He proposes they spend more family time together as Valentina comes out of the kitchen and tells them that they should help her with the cleaning and washing, etc. but Jorge reminds her that it’s her job and Lili’s to clean, etc. Valentina doesn’t think that’s fair as the boys spend all day playing video games and Lili barely helps as she’s always tired. Samuel thinks she misses Pablo a lot, but Jorge chides him for even brining him up though admits that Lili does seem depressed. Either way, he hopes she’s not seeing Pablo and Baldo reveals that he saw them the other day, but they don’t talk anymore. They all nod but when Valentina asks if any of them are going to help her, they all go their separate ways and she throws her hands up, defeated, before going back to the kitchen.

At Neron’s, Pablo brings Neron all the money they won at the shop today and tries to hurry out, lest Jorge see him, though Neron reminds him that he’s probably at work. Pablo nods but he also must get to class, where he’s learning a lot. After a moment, he asks Neron if he misses Flor a lot, as he looks sad, and Neron admits that he is. Pablo chides him for his actions and then wonders where Flor must have gone. Neron thinks she went to live with her sisters and gets an idea. He wishes Pablo luck in his class and then calls Flor, who answers despite her reservations. Neron begs her to please come back home, and he can leave, but Flor is hesitant. Neron reminds her that Milady is comfortable in their house and Flor promises to think about it as Neron tells her that he will be out of the house tomorrow, if they come back.

Lili is sleeping in her room when Jorge walks in and sits by her on the bed. He wakes her up slowly, but Lili wakes up in a fright because she thinks something is wrong. In truth, Jorge is there to talk about her, as she’s been sleeping a lot lately, and Valentina told him that she seems depressed lately. Lili thinks Valentina is a gossip, but Jorge asks her to be calm as he understands why she would be depressed, especially after her mother’s death and her breakup with Pablo. He has been reading various articles and such and suggests she find a hobby, something to entertain herself, but Lili thinks his suggestions are all stupid and nothing will get better if she finds a hobby or whatever. Jorge nods and then suggests she talk to him about what is happening, but all Lili wants to do is sleep and rest but it’s impossible. Kika texts and calls Jorge’s phone then and Lili suggests he answer but Jorge rejects the call and reaffirms that he’s there to help. Lili thinks that’s new because Uncle Jorge was barely present in their lives and Jorge suggests they talk about that then, but his phone continues to ring and Lili leaves to the bathroom because he’s making her nervous. He then texts Kika with the driest message and she sends begins to send him a scathing voice message about how he should appreciate the goddess she is and come running to see her but thinks better of it and deletes the message. She curses all men and her luck with them.

In bed (but not sure about the coitus part), Renee wonders what Mauricio is thinking about as he’s so quiet. Mauricio admits that he’s thinking about his new venture and caring for her and Anifer. Renee thinks they will be fine but at least he won’t start from zero as he has the money Fabian paid him for Logatoys. Mauricio nods but likes to pretend he doesn’t have that money as it only causes problems. Renee understands, as she’s worried about not selling her house in time for her trip to the US, and Mauricio wonders if she’s scared for other reasons. Renee admits that she is excited about her master’s but doesn’t want to leave Mauricio or Anifer. Mauricio reminds her that they have a lot of technology to keep in touch and Renee nods, hoping it will be enough.

The next day, Mauricio goes to see Jorge at his house. Jorge thinks he came at the perfect time since the kids are at school and Mauricio realizes Jorge hasn’t told his kids the truth; he understands though as he has trouble telling Anifer the truth sometimes. Jorge will find the perfect time to tell them though and then the conversation turns to Logatoys. Jorge wonders how Fabian will react when he finds out about the patents and Mauricio can’t wait to see his face when he finds out all the patents are in his name and Fabian can’t reproduce not even one.

At Logatoys, Fabian orders Falcon to start reproducing toys immediately but Falcon realizes that a lot of the toys, like the new toy line, are under Mauricio’s name so they can’t reproduce the toys. Fabian doesn’t care, as he will make a version of the toy himself, but Falcon shakes his head, along with their lawyer, as Mauricio and Anifer hold the copyright to any and all versions and designs. Fabian suggests they use the singing chicken, but Mauricio has that one as well and a lot of the other toys. The only ones they have left are the ones without the specifications that were accorded in the contract Mauricio signed when he sold the company. Fabian calls Gladys then and demands a meeting with Mauricio but Gladys has already hung up. He orders the lawyer to bring him Gladys, by the hair if necessary, and wonders what he will do now. Falcon suggests they disband the company, as Noel instructed.

Mauricio thanks Jorge for his great idea as he receives a call from Gladys, who tells him that Fabian wants a meeting to renegotiate their contract, but Mauricio reminds him that the deal is done, and Fabian swore on Noel that he would leave them alone. He repeats everything to Jorge, gets his name wrong, and hangs up. Jorge is doubtful Fabian will take this laying down, but Mauricio is more than happy to fight, if Fabian doesn’t back down.

Renee goes to visit Rafael and Rodrigo to apologize for yesterday, but Rafael leaves the room as Rodrigo tells her not to worry about it, they understand. Rafael comes back with the rent and hands it to Renee, but she explains that she’s not there for that and hopes their friendship isn’t affected by this decision. Rodrigo agrees but Rafael can’t pretend everything is okay and leaves to take care of a sick dog. Renee hopes Rafael forgives her soon and Rodrigo assures her he will, he’s just mad for the moment, and Renee nods before leaving.

At home, Neron sings a song with a guitar for Flor, who has just arrived. She listens intently as he sings about all the wonderful things she has brought to his life since they met. Flor’s eyes begin to water, and she walks toward Neron until she’s close enough to kiss him. She does and reminds him that he was going to leave before she got there with Milady. He admits that he was wrong to do what he did, and Flor tells him that she’s no one to judge him. Neron then asks her to hold his guitar and takes out a piece of paper to explain his actions. He promises to live 120 years, to be there for her and Milady, should they need him for anything and gets down one knee to propose. Flor can barely hold back her tears of happiness as he proposes she be his wife. From the kitchen, Pablo and another boy listen in for her answer.

Renee arrives at Fabian’s apartment and calls Gladys to make sure he’s at Logatoys. Gladys confirms he is and thanks her before hanging up. She then knocks on the gate and hopes someone will answer.

At home, Tono tries to connect to his internet but it’s being too slow. Esperanza comes and sees what he’s looking at, other options for Ernesto, and wonders why he won’t listen to the specialist. Tono just wants a second option, as he’s read about the side effects, and Esperanza asks if he’s giving Ernesto the medicine. Tono says no and then catches himself and declares that he is.

Renee, frustrated by the whole Fabian situation, decides to jump the fence to get into his apartment. Turns out, it’s not an apartment, but a whole mansion with a gate and everything. She makes her way through the yard and opens the unlocked door to find the house empty, dusty and kind of scary. She decides to go upstairs and walks into one of the rooms, the one full of action figure models, and dollhouse replicas. She knocks over a toy with her bag and Noel screams out for Fabian. Renee runs behind a wall and hopes she isn’t caught as Noel walks into the room and looks around, his face covered by the shadows.

As Pablo and the boy look on, Flor tells Neron that she always wanted to marry, and it was her biggest illusion to be dressed in white, but Neron doesn’t know how to take her answer and asks if she wants to get married. Flor thinks the whole wedding would be great but admits that she doesn’t want to marry him now, especially after all that happened recently. Neron asks if she will ever forgive him and Flor is quiet. Neron asks her to please think things through, as he loves her very much, but she asks him to stop crying and pressuring her. She suggests he leave her alone instead, so she can think things through. Neron nods.

Noel closes the door and Renee comes out behind the wall, but he comes back and asks again if Fabian is in the room. Just then, he notices the fallen toy and goes inside the room to put it back where it goes. Renee closes her eyes and prays she isn’t caught as Noel has one final look around and pretends to leave by slamming the door. Renee sighs and comes out behind the wall to see Noel, waiting for her. She turns around immediately and curses her luck as Noel demands to know who she is and what she’s doing there.

Tono reiterates to Esperanza that he is giving Ernesto his medicine, but he just wants to see other options, just in case. Esperanza wonders why he can’t just tell her the truth, the first time, but is happy to see him be such a great father. Tono is happy to see she said something nice about him and wonders why she never asked her father to do half the things he does now. Esperanza admits that she was stupid before and let him walk all over her and that’s why none of her children or her husband can fend for themselves now. Tono chides her for being so cruel but Esperanza wants him to prove her wrong by being a better father. Tono is trying but he just wants the best thing for Ernesto; Esperanza wonders how things have changed, as they would’ve called Ernesto distracted before and that’s it, so Tono thinks he had ADD also but Esperanza shakes her head. She then reminds him that he has laundry to do before Veronica gets home as Mauricio knocks and lets himself inside to talk about the new company. Esperanza reminds Tono about the laundry and then walks away.

Flor tells Neron to leave as he said he would because she needs to rest, alone. After a moment, she walks away but Neron follows her and begs her to think about their relationship and his proposal. Flor nods but prefers he leave and she takes the stroller into the bedroom to rest. Pablo and the boy, who turns out to be a second employee at the shop, come of the kitchen and wish Neron the best. He orders them to go to the shop, as money doesn’t grow on trees, and curses himself again. He then grabs Flor’s things and moves them to the living room before leaving, tears filling his eyes. Once alone, Flor, crying as well, comes out of the bedroom and wonders what she will do now as she takes her things to the bedroom.

As they fold laundry, Mauricio lets Tono in on his master plan against Fabian. Tono understands why he wants to do the company now, as they will fabricate his original designs now, and Mauricio smiles. Mauricio then sees how white his shirts come out of the laundry and asks Tono for tips before asking if he’s going to be part of his company. Tono reminds him that they need money, which he doesn’t have, and then gives Mauricio more tips for the whitest clothes. Mauricio smells the clothes and is surprised by the brightness.

Noel, who is wearing a dark wind breaker that covers his face, announces that he is calling the police, but Renee begs him not to as she knows she was wrong, but she needed to find a paper. Noel demands to know what paper she is talking about and Renee asks if he’s a family member of Fabian. Noel tells her that he doesn’t have to tell her anything and demands she tell him the truth or she can talk to the police. Renee tries to approach him, but Noel demand she stay back and Renee obliges. She then explains that she lived in a house with her mother, all her life, but it turns out that the house is not in her mother’s name. Noel asks who her mother is, and Renee tells him it was Catalina Sanchez. Noel jumps back, surprised by this information, and sighs as Renee wonders what will happen next…

Thanks, Alfredo, for another outstanding recap.

Great episode!

I appreciated:

Flor giving herself space and time to decide what she wants to do after the proposal from the guitar-playing lip-syncing Nerón..

Mauricio having sold the company but not the copyrights to the best toys.

The laundry tips Toño gave to Mauricio.

Mamá Esperanza really not believing thatToño is giving Neto the meds.

Mamá Esperanza and Mauricio talking about the power of the flying flip flop.

Mamá Esperanza making tacos for Verónica in her own little “ Tupper” to take along.

Thank you, Mr. Speedy AAA! I enjoyed the episode and you made it even better!

A few comments before I hit the sack...

Mau impressed me tonight...he actually outsmarted Fakian..Go Mau!! BUT I felt SO cheated that the writer's didn't give us a romantic first timer for Mau and Renee. All of a sudden they're in bed together...TALKING! QTH!!

Neron outdid himself too...he's not the greatest singer but he did pretty darn good! Too bad he didn't propose before he made an idiot of himself. I really don't blame Flor for not accepting and taking time to think things through.

So Maria lives!! What a surprise...NOT! I wonder if she has her asthma under control (from VEA). And when her cell buddy asked her if she had anyone to call for help, she said 'no' but then added that she actually did have someone and took out Anifer's picture; so what is she going to do? ...call Anifer and ask her to get her out of jail?

And what was with the hooded jacket inside the house...or was Noe expecting someone to "rain on his parade?"

Now don't forget...baking soda or white vinegar to whiten clothes!! LOL

Jarifa, our comments crossed...I too appreciated everything you listed! Good episode!

Thank you so much ,Alfredo. You consistently go above and beyond. What a generous person you are to use your time and talent to give us these excellent recaps. I am very grateful to all the recappers! I would be lost without the recaps because I understand only about 5% of the dialogue.

Chickie...yeah, all of a sudden, there were Renee and MaUry cuddling in bed. QTH? Was that supposed to be the first time or have they been bunnyhopping behind our backs all this time? Was that supposed to be the afterglow? If so, there wasn't much glow. We saw more actual action with Georgieboy and Kikidee. Perhaps Maite has it in her contract that she will not do nudity or sex scenes.

My absolute favorite scene was watching Maury and Tonto folding the laundry. I have to admit that Hubba does a much better job of folding the laundry than I do . He is much more careful and precise. He , Maury, and Tonto could work at the Gap.

Alfredo to the rescue once again! And with amazing results.

Well written as usual. Fantastic title. Without you, I would be clueless as to 90% of what occurs. Thank you.

I’m so glad you noted Mau and Renee “In bed (but not sure about the coitus part)", as I wasn’t sure if anything happened or not either. I kept wondering if the main men in this (Mau and Jorge) are going to wear their t shirts in all of their bedroom scenes. Makes me yearn for the ovens and the hot baker boyz in FELS, cooling off with a nice swim. doris? Sorry, I digress.

But I have to say Susanlynn, I think we are on the same waivelength. I thought the fully clad scene might be that Sebastian promised Angelique no nudity and that perhaps Maite felt the same. And you are so right in "no glow". Sweet but not savory.

"Flor giving herself space and time to decide what she wants to do after the proposal from the guitar-playing lip-syncing Nerón". Perfect Jarifa!

Should we be happy or sad that Maria is alive? I honestly have no idea but "...when her cell buddy asked her if she had anyone to call for help, she said 'no' but then added that she actually did have someone and took out Anifer's picture; so what is she going to do? ...call Anifer and ask her to get her out of jail?" had me smiling away. Thanks RgvChick.

Still so many stumbling parents. Jorge who is forever treading water, Tono who continues to be his own worst enemy, Neron with his harebrained ideas that served only to drive a wedge between he and Flor, Vero, for changing so drastically and not for the better (still blaming the wriers though), etc., etc.

Is Noel Hannibal Lechter? I thought he was going to keel over after Renee told him who she was. Unfortunately, he did not.

"Mauricio having sold the company but not the copyrights to the best toys" was indeed the highlight - whoever would have thunk it Jarifa?

I also enjoyed Mau and Tono bonding over and inhaling the sweet laundry scent. I've never, ever done that. Perhaps I should swtich from my Free and Clear brand. Looks like I'm missing out.

Alfredo, thank you so much.

Sleep well all!

Diana

Mr AAA, thank you once again for a great and very detailed recap. As always, I miss a lot of the dialog and these recaps fill in the blanks for me. And they are just fun to read, too.

Rafa can be annoying. Before this incident he was all over Renee, he pawed her more than Mauricio did. Now he's all huffy. I'm not sure he's ready to be a parent anyway. I think Rodrigo should dump him in favor of someone else more mature and good with kids. Oh, look, both Toño and Nerón are available!

Let's not have any more of this Renee bunny hopping talk. Renee is still a virgin, maybe Mau too. (If it were available I would insert here an emoji that does that little lifting the eyebrows thing that Anifer does. Or maybe a Groucho Marx emoji :-p )

A nervy little virgin she is, scaling the fence and entering someone else's home like that.

I very much enjoyed the laundry tips. Diana, do what you want, but I'm sticking with Free & Clear. Most laundry detergent fragrances irritate the daylights out of me.

What can I say, I'm a very sensitive guy. I even watch TNs.

:-)

My goodness, y'all are up late tonight. TGIF I guess.

Like everybody else I was like...Whaaaa? when I saw Mauricio and Renee snuggling under the sheets. They're cute together but they've got as much sizzle as an elderly couple married a gazillion years. Affectionate but no va va voom. It's not like this is on at the 7 pm time. Whazzup? Well evidently not much.

"In bed (but not sure about the coitus part), Renee wonders what Mauricio is thinking about as he’s so quiet."

A perfect description of that puzzling scene Alfredo. As was everything else. I love your seamless translations of the Spanish idioms..."el dinero no se da en maceta [flower pot]" becomes "money doesn't grow on trees" Same idea, different recipient.

I got a big kick out of the laundry scene also. I do use white vinegar to make sure the clothes are well rinsed but I don't think it smells that great. And for everyday grime I use Zout. Not much aroma there either. But have to admit I love the detergent intended for "gym stink". Just sayin'.

And I'm not great at folding clothes. But one of my sons-in-law has that contraption where you place the t-shirt on it and it comes out perfectly folded. Ready for the Gap indeed.

And it looked to me like Neron really was singing, not lip-syncing, and actually playing the guitar. His fingering looked real to me. And hallelujah, Flore was actually speaking at a normal pace last night. Those two still use so much slang that I'd be lost without the Spanish sub-titles, but was relieved to know that she can communicate at something less than warp speed.

Well, another cliffhanger at the end. Hope Renee and her putative papi clear things up quickly.

Thanks Alfredo. Always a treat.

One more thing...lovely snow fell last night. Very pretty. It's coming your way Susanlynn, Diana and Andy! Oh and Niecie.

"Rafa can be annoying.

Andy, just great! Rafa was in a snit - really unattractive and just plain annoying. He is a good guy but needs a good dose of maturity. Hmmm. Most here do, don't they?

Getting ready to publish and lo and behold your excellent comment appeared Judy. "But have to admit I love the detergent intended for "gym stink". Just sayin'" was spot on. Oh my, I am cracking myself up. Laundry? Spot On? OK, I will stop now. :)

What a fun patio...

Diana (sticking with her Free and Clear this AM)

Morning Judy,

Actually, we had snow yesterday too which I had to drive home in. Although someone described it as looking like "snow globe snow", temperatures were colder than expected and accumulated quickly requiring careful driving.

More today?? I. Just. Can't. :(

Diana

Thanks Alfredo, above and beyond. Glad you cleared it up. I thought they did it dressed in case they were busted by Anifer, as few TN doors appear to have functional locks and latches.

"Oh LOOK, both Neron and Tono are available" had me cackling Andy. Good one.
I'm not, nor have not been in a while, impressed with Raf. Little bitch.
BTW Kika Deflowered Mau waaaay back if those fifty girls on his boat all failed, as well as the hottie he almost married.
FWIW when something is truly clean I do not expect to be able to smell it. Those hillbilly dryer sheets are nauseous. Drive by any coin-op and your nose will be assaulted by the stench.

Nervy? Or a slight touch of dumbass. How about scaling the fence and ringing the bell at the front door as a compromise. But whatever, effective nonetheless.

Working at the Gap? "Behind our backs all this time" The patio is on fire today. Funny Susy.

I too, was shocked at Mau and his copyrights/patents ploy.

And how did Maria get Anifer's new cell phone number if she could call her to get her out of there.

This is the first TN I have EVER watched in all these years where I have not found myself wishing they would get on with it. Most of them resemble As the World Turns (slowly) or Days (and years) of our Lives.

Oh dear...well, hopefully you don't have to drive anywhere today Diana. Sounds like a good day to stay in and do laundry!

Now I'm going to be unpopular and advocate a little for Rafa here. Yes, he reacted Very Badly when Renee changed her mind at the last minute. When people are deeply hurt, deeply disappointed, devastated in fact [as Rafa clearly was] they react badly. We all have a little 2-year-old inside. And Rafa is DYING for a child. That is so clear. He is the nurturer in the couple.

And the hurt is still too fresh for him to be "ah no problem fuhgeddaboutit" with Renee. As Rodrigo explained, Don't worry. That's how he is. I know him. He'll get over it eventually.

And Rafa will. He's a nice guy. Sensitive. Caring. But very hurt right now. Give him some time and space and he'll "recapacita". Like Flor hopefully. And the friendship will resume. On a healthier basis, because it has survived a disappointment and some harsh words.

I'm guessing the storyline will now run towards adoption. After all, Mauricio's adoption of a child who is not biologically his, is jelling nicely.

" We all have a little 2-year-old inside" and that 2 year old's toy went off sale before he got to Toys-R-Us and he is pissed. I see him the same way I see these fifteen year olds who purposefully get pregnant, and couples who get a cute, darling puppy. When the new wears off the new toy is just in the way then and neglected.

Though I dearly love children, popular psychology has always said that you have a good chance of being the kind of parent you had. Because of the abuse and torment I went through as a child until I escaped, (finished High School Early) I never even entertained the idea of having children for fear of that small chance I might be like either of my parents. It wasn't until too late that it became apparent that I was not going to turn out like them, so I just rescue other peoples kids. I have wished a thousand times there had been a Kirby Johnson to intervene when I was a helpless little tyke. There wasn't.

Well, Kirby, it's good that you can turn your childhood pain into a blessing for other children who need help desperately. You can't change the past but you can definitely make the present and future better for yourself and for others. Those little kids next door are lucky to have you in their lives and vice versa.

Thank you, Alfredo.

What? The main couple's first night together happened off screen? This is unacceptable! I don't think I remember any TN that would dare do that. (Novios, sleeping in the same bed and not doing it, I just can't believe it.)

I still think Lili is pregnant. Being tiered and sleepy could be the symptoms.

Mau finds out Maria is indeed in Guatemalan jail. And his reaction is just let her rot there. She is a threat to his happiness with Anifer, so it is just better that way. I expect this kind of behavior from villains. From what Ani told about Maria, one gets an impression that she has been a good mother. Something here doesn't add up. Mau has to dig deeper. And again, all that lying and hiding of information from Renée is not a way to build a relationship.

Story this morning in one of the digital newspapers I subscribe to. There's a bus driver in Utah who every morning braids a little girl's hair. The girl's mother died two years ago. Her father gave her a crew cut since he decided he couldn't manage brushing and fixing. But she grew her hair out and enlisted her bus driver's help. Now every morning she walks into school feeling beautiful and loved. Reminded me of Mauricio's early struggles with Anifer. But at least he never gave her a crew cut!

Your resiliancy is something most of us can only hope to aspire to Kirby.

Despite what occurred, you never lost your heart. And spirit.

While I wish you had been appreciated and cherished at home, you certainly are here.

Diana

Thanks, Alfredo. Great recap. Love the title.

Wow, I thought I was early for a change, but the party started last night and I'm late!

ITA Mau and Tono sharing laundry tips was a hoot.

Maria raised Anifer with good values. I'm sure she's innocent and has been railroaded.

Though Lili doesn't have a baby bump, back in the day a teen girl being sluggish and sleepy in the middle of the day was a sign the stork was coming.

Dang, Renee let the old dude outfox her by pretending he shut the door and left. He's not as daffy as I thought he was.

JudyB, we're expecting itty-bitty snowflakes any moment now. They're suppose to fly in any moment now with rain and fly right out.

Kirby, glad you made it through and have the heart to help others' kids.

Thanks everyone.

Hello patio..

Andy, yes, Rafe used paw Renee more than Maury. I am disappointed in him...not a true friend acterall.

Diana, i prefer the free and clear detergent, too. I

Chores call...i wish that maury was here..it is laundry day.

Renee truly looked like an Engineer last night with the door slam trick. Engineers can do advanced Calculus but are the last to know their spouse is cheating on them.

I have to give her credit for being able to get over that wall with her Hello Kitty backpack though. I assume that doesn't mean that the wall wouldn't still be a challenge to a burglar who does that for a living. ? ? ? :-)

RGV I sure hopeo when Maria gets out and is back in the Cul-D Sak (s on Fifth) that she keeps it to herself about how HotRod used to smooch around on her in VEA. Raf will have a COW and forget about that baby for a while.

I hopeo also that the bambino isn't born with Lil's hair.

It appeared Flor didn't have a huge amount of trouble finding a place to go.

hey, hey, hey judy , ahem....let's not denigrate mature bunnyhopping....fine wine, ye ken? Maybe they just cuddle in bed to keep warm like the Amish.
And please keep that snow . The sun is finally shining here.

I use whatever free and clear detergent is on sale at CVS ...usually Arm and Hammer or All. Then, I use detergent with oxy for whites and stains.

Okay, back to Dr.Quinn and Sully and the laundry. #!ifeinthefastlane

We are up for up to two inches of the white stuff on Sunday night. It was an invigorating 29 and sunny this a.m. Rather nice if the wind would just stop blowing. It has gotten much windier year-round in the last 8-9 years up here.

I like to use vinegar in the wash cycle. It makes everything including the machine fresher. I actually like the smell of detergent and dryer sheets. Too funny!

So now Lili is all tired. Will she start fainting next?

Eventhough I did not like Rafael’s reaction to Renée backing out, I thought it was totally in keeping with the character that had been written so far. Rodrigo is clearly the realist in that relationship. I expect Rafael to get over it eventually.

Kirby, kids needs all the adults related and non-related they can have to look out for them and support them. Being a kid is not easy and it is great you have been able to take your own experience and turn it into something positive and maybe make a child’s experience just a bit better.

You guys. Today's patio is brought to you by Purex with Oxy.
Amazing what we end up discussing here.

Kirby, I hope t hat there are still plenty of Doritos left in the pantry.

You all are good for my soul...a welcome relief from the daily news.

Time to throw in the towels....into the washer.

In the scene of Vero, Toño and kids, Tania says she got 10 in math, Fidelito says he got a star, when it's Neto's turn, he says he got a turtle, which is very pretty. The caption under the turtle said "Works slowly." Veronica shakes her head. Grades are given to provide feedback and suggest areas of improvement. In this case the feedback was wasted on Neto, because he didn't understand its meaning, and Vero also didn't do much with it. Maybe only insist more on keeping the drug schedule.

Later in that scene when Toño comes out, he is treated demonstratively bad by both his mother and Vero. Then when he was sitting there, pensive, I thought he was thinking of divorce.

I think Flor will give it a couple of more days and take Nerón back. She was tempted to forgive him during the sweet welcoming scene.

Nerón reminded me of Walter White from "Breaking Bad" who also wanted to have his family set after he was gone. Maybe that is where Nerón got the idea.

RGV Chick, Kirby, it is fun to bring relationships from other TN with the actors. Of course Vero is another alum from VEA. Toño's mother is Fabians mohter-in-law from "Que pobres tan ricos." Neto is Renée's stepson from "Antes muerta que Lichita." Gladis is Yuriria's best friend from "Ramon."

Judy, that story about the bus driver braiding the little girl's hair was heartwarmi g. When I was teaching two or four days a week, Hubba had to try to get the little girls hair brushed and ready for school everyday. He is good at many things...but not bairdressing. The !ittle girls like me there every morning to brsid tbeir lo g bair.

Kirby...you are a good soul to care about those litt!e neighbors . If we look around us, we can see many people.. .young and old... who need a bit of attention and kindness. Even though my students were older teens or adults, it was always easy to see who needed a kind word or a smile.

Kirby, my parents did not get along even though they were good parents and i loved tbem both and they loved me...lots yelling or silence. Sometimes parents show us what we do not want to be. Luckily, i met hub as a teen and his parents seemed to be on a life!ong date. I knew that was what i wanted, and it was his model of marriage. No matter what your childhood experience, you managed to move forward and now can help others.

"let's not denigrate mature bunnyhopping....fine wine, ye ken?"

Silly Wabbit, Trix are for Kids
But 'Hoppin 'is for everybody.

Right Neutron?

It is hard to feel sorry for Neutral, guitar and crocodile tears or no. Like Andy said in so many words, 'Look at Flor and your new baby, thank your lucky stars and PUT A RING ON IT. " But Noooooo . Neuron wanted to make sure his assets were not used to fund the United Nations for decades, but rather went all to Flor and Milady.

How'd that work out Einstein? Maybe Flor and Pablo? They get along great, and are within a decade or so of the same age.

I was surprised to hear about your parents, Susanlynn, because you obviously do have such a happy marriage. But how wonderful that you picked a guy whose parents were on a lifelong date. And now you have that too. Smart lady. Smart guy. Lucky couple. Would that we had more happy endings like that. Alas, 50% of all marriages end in divorce, and a significant portion of the rest are unhappy. That's why it's always nice to hear a heartwarming story.

Well, hoping everyone is happily married or happily single today. The sun has come out here and is melting the snow. I need to get out and sweep the garage before the weather gets daunting again.

Wow, I guess everybody is spending the day at church.

AlfredoA - Thank you for your recap! I probably won't get to watch this episode so ... THANK YOU!!!

Diana -- "Makes me yearn for the ovens and the hot baker boyz in FELS, cooling off with a nice swim. "
And remember those shower scenes! I could go for some laundry scenes in this telenovela! You know how it goes .... all done working in the yard, getting ready to start a load of laundry, so just strip down at the washing machine to toss your clothes in. I think Mau could at least give us one obligatory cheesy shot of him in his undies. Right? Even R&R might give us some nice laundry scenery.

Kirby -- " Those hillbilly dryer sheets are nauseous. Drive by any coin-op and your nose will be assaulted by the stench." Lucky you that you have to drive by a laundromat for that smell. Just walking through our own neighborhood, early in the morning, and we get it. Talk about air pollution. ~blech~ No fabric softener or dryer sheets in this house. Allergic to it all.

Doris...you are feeling frisky on Sunday evening, girl !!!! So, you want to see more thanMaury just folding the laundry. I have never used dryer sheets because my dryer has those sensors in it that shut the dryer off automatically. I have stopped using fabric softener...unnecessary and it gonks up the washer.okay..back to Gidget....and folding laundry.

How big is that detention hall? LOL j/k I'd probably live here teeheehee

Just caught up with the comments....quite entertaining as always!

Susy and Diana, I don't give a hoot who promised whom what! I want to see some SKIN! My only consolation is that I'm watching "Marido en Alquiler" that is set in Miami...LOTS of HAWT bodies there! ^-^

JudyB and Jarifa, I agree with your comments regarding Rafa.

Lucio, it's amusing to me to see actors that I've seen in other TNs in such different roles. I like Veronica so much more in VEA, but "Rodrigo" outshines Miguel in this TN. I wish Gladys had a bigger role (as someone mentioned previously). I saw Mark Tacher in "Que Te Perdone Dios" thought I know he is been in several other TNs. Though he is evil in this TN, his performance here is much better than in QTPD, IMO. I haven't seen any of the other characters.

AND I am still PO'd about being deprived of seeing Mau and Renee have their first "encounter;" SO I was thinking that maybe we could submit our own...kinda like has been done before with alternate endings...but this would be "Alternate Encounters of the Caray Kind" Whatch'all think?

Good morning all. Just want you to know THAT IT IS SNOWING HERE! AGAIN!!!!!!!
Happy Monday to all, and may the sun shine down on all of you....eventually.

OMGoodness, JudyB! I do hope everyone gets a spring. Weather has been crazy here. Yesterday morning we were at 50 degrees and in the low 80’s by the afternoon. Some isolated showers but nothing to brag about....and definitely no snow!

Good morning , patio peeps.

Judy, yikes..sorry that the snow just will not let you go. None in the weekly forecast for us. It is sunny and in the 40s today with a prediction in the 70s for Friday and Saturday. The forsythia and rhododendron are budding and the daffodils and crocuses are pushing up.
Spring is my favorite season.

Yooo-hoooo....anybody home? Or should I check detention hall? :-)

Snow. yuk. I have one of those digital clocks with a temperature display showing indoor and outside, via a little battery powered transmitter outside somewhere. I looked up today and noticed the outside was blinking. So like a true engineer I was apoplectic locating the remote transmitter to replace the battery.

Mission accomplished, but still blink, blink. ? ? Now in the midst of trying to figure what else could cause the malfunction it dawned on me:

I could just Magic Marker in "HOT" on the outdoor section and not worry about it for about 7 or 8 months.

Einstein

Hi, from detention hall , Chickie.

Kirby, our outside thermometer got blown off the deck , so I have to buy a new one. It is stuck on 40..which is probably pretty accurate most of the time lately.

Nobody here but us chickens, RGV.

The only Caray patio which may as well be simply set up IN detention hall.

I don't know why I feel the need to know exactly how HOT it is outside. You dress approximately the same for 83 as you do for 87, right? Maybe not Kika, but the rest of us

My husband is obsessed with the temperature outside as well as the weather in general. In addition to checking the indoor/outdoor thermometer on the back window (and also in his car) he tunes in throughout the day to the Weather Channel. I look out the window, or just sally forth if I want to know how things are (simple-minded I know).

Judy I suppose it is a guy thing. My Car,and Motorcycle both insist on my knowing the air temperature. The boat, gives me not only the air temp but the water temperature under the hull as well. That's an overwhelmingly important piece of information over which we have NO control. :-)

At least my car is not like Siri: "Kirby, it is hotter than seven hells outside, but is only 78 in St Louis. Would you like to know the shortest route there and the estimated gasoline needed?"

Sorry to be so late, but I wasn't feeling very well this weekend. Thank you again Alfredo for filling in for me again.

Well there isn't much to say after everyone's comments except that it will be interesting to see what Fabian's father's response is to Renee.

I agree with many here that the cutest part was Mau and Tono talking about the laundry and the laundry tips! See? Men can do laundry too. Good for them! I taught my sons to do their own laundry at an early age, so it makes sense.

As for the weather where I am, we are in a heatwave. It's over 90 outside right now.

Cynthia: "what Fabian's father's response is to Renee."

like, maybe..."Fab, your Sister DROPPED in while you were out. Wanted to know if you'd like to go get a pizza later."
or:

"Fabian, I want you to find that Sanchez girl's Mom, and I won't take no for an answer."

"Sure Dad, I know where she is, we will go see her on Sunday."

DOH

Kirby, I like the 2nd option: Go out and get a pizza together and a few beers.

:-)
