Papa A Toda Madre #61 4.12.18: Back from the Dead and It's Doesn't Feel So Good
At the hospital, Jorge berates Lili for her careless actions, which now include bringing a new life into this world, and ruining her life in the process. Kika doesn’t think it’s the best time to talk about this but Jorge reiterates that it’s the best time. He asks Lili if her mother never taught her about preserving her virginity or anything of the sort but Lili reminds him that she never had a father, neither did her brother, but Jorge tells her that she’s no one to judge. Kika tries to defuse the situation and tells them that they must tell the father of the child, first, and then decide what to do. Jorge looks sick to his stomach but Lili nods.
In Neron’s shop, Pablo talks to his mother to tell her about his plans to go to the US to look for his father. He sends her his love and hangs up as his co-worker teases him. Pablo pays him no mind and then goes to Neron and tells him that his mother sends her thanks for all his help. He then tells that he found a group of Guatemalans online that can help him locate his father in the US. Neron is happy to hear the good news but seems distracted as Pablo keeps asking him what he thinks the best plan of action to find his father is. Neron tells Pablo to give him a minute and goes to his office.
As Renee, Mauricio and Anifer walk back home, Mauricio tells Anifer that there are great things waiting for them in Maryland, like a lot of food, but Anifer wants to know about the trees. Mauricio shakes his head and then nervously looks around as Renee wonders why he’s so nervous. Mauricio shakes his head and smiles because they are all going on their first family trip. He asks them to pack their packs, pronto, because they are leaving ASAP. He goes with Anifer to the house but Renee is unsure.
Moments later, Mauricio opens the door for Anifer, who runs to her room to get ready, but Renee holds back. He asks her to get ready too but Renee wants to know what the problem is. Mauricio tells her it’s nothing, he will explain on the plane, but Renee thinks they are running away from something and thinks it’s Fabian. Mauricio thinks she’s being ridiculous and drags her to her room to get the suitcases ready.
At home, Tono hands Veronica a glass of water and asks what she is doing to train the kids. She is quiet and he thinks she’s making a mistake because she knows nothing of soccer; Veronica reminds him that she spent years watching him watch soccer so she picked up some stuff. She thanks him for his help as Esperanza goes to them and wonders if they are fighting again. They continue to argue as the children run down the stairs and they stop. Tono hugs Tania and Fidel, tight, and so does Veronica, asking them who loves them more. Esperanza is probably wondering how they have stooped so low.
Mauricio looks out all the windows in his home as Anifer comes and declares she’s ready. Mauricio takes her in his arms, gives her a hug, and tells her that he’s very happy that she’s so happy and loves her very much. He then asks if she loves him from the moon and back and Anifer screams that she does and hugs him again. Just then, Renee comes and Anifer goes to get her things. Mauricio asks Renee to please have some patience, as he will explain everything later, but Renee wants to know if the kidnapping nun is out of jail. Mauricio shakes his head and promises to explain everything later but he needs to talk Jorge first. He runs off as Renee punches a hot air balloon toy, frustrated, but the balloon punches back.
Moments later, Mauricio goes to Jorge’s house but only finds Valentina, who tells him they are at the hospital but has no idea why. Mauricio asks her to tell Jorge to call him as they need to talk because he’s going on a trip. Valentina nods and Mauricio leaves.
At the hospital, Jorge asks Lili not to tell Pablo anything about the baby but Lili is adamant that she will tell him everything, as he is the father. Jorge demands she lower her voice and reiterates that he doesn’t want Pablo near her. Lili argues that they both made a mistake and she needs to talk to Pablo so they decide what to do. Kika agrees and Jorge nods but tells her that Pablo will then have to take care of everything. He then announces that they are going home and walks away as Kika goes to comfort Lili. Jorge stops after a moment and looks at his daughter, wondering how this could happen.
That night, Flor and Neron sit down for dinner but Neron states that he’s not hungry. Flor is shocked, as he’s always hungry, and confesses that she won’t be able to sleep until he tells her what is happening. She then reminds him that they have to go to the doctor to get the results and Neron reveals that he already went to the doctor. Flor wonders why he didn’t tell her and Neron confesses that he ahs to talk to her about something serious. Flor looks worried now.
Mauricio and company arrive at the airport but he hurries Anifer and Renee along, declaring that they have to hurry. Anifer wants to know if she can have the window seat, and then wonders if the plane will crash if there are too many people on the plan. Renee assures that it’s very safe but Anifer wonders if she wasn’t scared when she was younger. Renee explains that she never went on many trips and it was mostly by bus because her mother was scared of planes. She then takes out her phone to show Anifer a picture of their last trip and Anifer thinks her mother gave great hugs. She is sad that he doesn’t have a picture of her mother but Renee tells her that her mother is always with her, in her heart. The intercom announces then that they plane is boarding and Mauricio assures Anifer that he will always protect, no matter what.
Neron confesses to Flor that she has leukemia and Flor is shocked. She wonders what they can do now and Neron thinks they need a second opinion before deciding anything, as the doctor could be wrong. Flor nods and Neron asks her not to get depressed, because they will fight this, and Flor assures him that she will. They promise that they will get through this, together, and Flor is more than sure that Neron will support her every step of the way.
Kika is in her suite, video chatting with Charytin, about the latest development in her love saga with Jorge. Charytin chides her for falling for men with children but Kika reiterates that she hasn’t fallen for him, as he is too conservative and macho, but Charytin knows she has. Kika wonders if it’s that obvious and Charytin nods before telling her that Jorge will always have problems because he has four children. Kika admits that she cares for him, and tries to help his children however she can, so Charytin thinks she’s not in love, but SUPER in love with Jorge. Kika sighs deeply.
Everyone eats silently at Jorge’s hot except Lili, who is in her room. Samuel wants to know if she’s sick, and asks about the doctor’s visit, but Jorge demands they all be quiet and eat churrros as instructed. The kids keep pushing though, and remind him that they all promised to deal with their problems as a family, so Jorge walks away from the table, frustrated.
In her room, Lili looks at a picture of Pablo on her phone and cries. She then picks up a photo of her mother, Baldo and herself and wonders what she can do now as she continues to cry. She wishes Yuriria was with her to help.
At the airport, Mauricio gives Renee and Anifer something to eat but he can’t calm down. He sees a security guard then and becomes pale at the sight of the uniform. Renee notices and walks over to him so he can tell her what happened. Mauricio thinks about this for a moment, confesses that he doesn’t know what to do and is about to make a big mistake, and reveals that Maria is in Mexico and looking for Anifer. Renee is shocked.
In her room, Tania cries in her room when Ernesto and Fidel walk in and she asks if they can’t sleep either. The boys nod and they all sit together to discuss their parent’s impending divorce. Tania knows they won’t say it but it’s more than obvious that they are going to separate and split them up. None of them want a divided household but Tania tells them that it’s not their decision but their parent’s.
Jorge goes to see Lili, who wipes her tears, and tells her that everything he does is because she is his daughter and she’s important to him. He also tells her that she’s too young to be pregnant and has no future with Pablo. Lili is quiet and Jorge asks her to keep quiet about her pregnancy because Pablo doesn’t have anything to offer her and won’t be able to care for their child properly. Lili tells him to stop insulting Pablo and then asks him if her siblings know. Jorge prefers to pretend like nothing happened, until they decide what to do, because he doesn’t want any rumors to go around about her condition. Lili wonders how they will hide it, as her stomach will grow, and Jorge suggests they take a long trip so no one finds out the truth. He promises to get the money for their trip together as Baldo listens behind the door and hears everything. Valentina catches him and he walks away as Valentina goes inside the room to give him Mauricio’s message and to tell him that Maria Cruz came looking for him. Jorge wonders why she didn’t give it to him sooner and takes the piece of paper before leaving. Valentina then asks Lili what is wrong but leaves when she sees all she is going to get from Lili is the silent treatment
Renee chides Mauricio for trying to take Anifer away from Maria and tells him that she doesn’t support his decision. Either way, she’s sure Maria will recognize him, as they slept together to have Anifer, but Mauricio spills the beans and confesses that he is not Anifer’s biological father though he is her father because he’s cared for her since she came to him. Mauricio then tells her that the scum of the Earth is Anifer’s father and Renee deduces that it must be Fabian. Mauricio is quiet as Anifer comes and asks them what they are talking about. Mauricio tells her that they are talking about adult things that don’t concern her. Just then, the intercom announces that they are boarding the plane but Renee looks unsure and Anifer looks confused. Just then, Mauricio receives a call from Jorge, who tells him that he heard about Maria, and Mauricio explains that he is at the airport. Jorge is shocked to hear this but, as the intercom announces boarding again, Mauricio looks back at Renee and Anifer and considers his decision.
At Logatoys, Fabian looks at the toy designs of a new designer, Octavio, and tells him that they are way better than the ones they saw before. Falcon was sure he would love them and Fabian orders Octavio to build the first prototype. Octavio assures him that he will love his toys and then bids them goodbye. Fabian then wonders how Mauricio is fairing, especially when Maria takes his daughter away, and Falcon is shocked to see him happy. Fabian tells him that he can get happy and kicks him out of the office so he can think about his future plans, because no one else will.
At the shop, Pablo looks at a memento Lili gave him and smiles. He then begins to clean up the rest of the shop as Baldo comes up behind him and screams his name. Pablo turns around and Baldo punches him, hard enough to knock him to the ground, and declares that he is going to kill him.
Jorge is in the living room, on his laptop, when Samuel comes and Jorge asks if he is in the Blue Shark again, since he’s on his tablet. Samuel explains that he’s doing research and Jorge is happy to hear it as he needs no other problems. Samuel asks him what he’s doing and Jorge states that he is doing research for Logatoys and goes to sit away from Samuel. Samuel then asks him for new clothes and Jorge wonders why he is growing so quickly. Samuel shrugs and Jorge promises to take him and Baldo to get new clothes next week. Samuel asks where Baldo went so late and Jorge is surprised to learn Baldo left without permission. Valentina comes out of the kitchen, overhears, and tells them that he was listening behind the door when Jorge was talking to Lili and then ran off; she only told him so that they don’t call her nosy later on and walks away. Jorge considers this.
At Renee’s, Tono tells Rafael and Rodrigo to think long and hard before deciding to have kids because it’s hard work. Rafael and Rodrigo are quiet and Tono finally notices that they don’t look too happy. In fact, they look uncomfortable and tense.
In a hotel, Maria calls a friend from the environmental committee and tells them everything that happened to her. As she tells her friend that she didn’t want to call anyone from jail, just in case, Mauricio knocks on the hotel room door. Maria hangs and goes to answer as Mauricio tells her that she is the person who she saw in the cul-de-sac. He then confesses that he is Mauricio Lopez Garza and he has Anifer with him. Maria is surprised.
Pablo and Baldo wrestle on the floor of the shop as Baldo screams that he impregnated his sister. Pablo pushes him off but Baldo attacks him again as Jorge comes running and separates them. Pablo demands to know if Lili is pregnant but Jorge grabs him by the collar and demands he stay away, or else. He then leaves with Baldo as Pablo considers this news.
Mauricio hands Maria his license, to prove that he is Mauricio, but Maria demands to know why her daughter is with a complete stranger. Mauricio tries to explain what happened but Maria can’t believe he took advantage of a little girl. Mauricio thinks she’s done worse things, like abandon her daughter, but Maria reminds him that he was in jail, worried that the same people who put her in jail may have her daughter. Mauricio wants to know who put her in jail and Maria thinks it was one of the big corporation she fought against but isn’t sure because she never saw them. Mauricio thinks it’s strange that they put her in jail and then let her go but Maria demands he take her to Anifer or she will call the police.
In her room, Anifer wonders what happened with Mauricio and the trip. Renee assures her that trips requires planning and they will go later but Anifer wants to know why Mauricio was so serious. Renee is surprised she noticed and they compare Mauricio’s serious face before Anifer asks if she knows what happened. Renee tells her that her and Mauricio tell each other almost everything and Anifer then asks if she’s still going to do he master’s. Renee declares that she’s asking too many questions and takes her to brush her teeth.
Mauricio reveals to Maria that he gave Anifer his last name and Maria is shocked he that when she’s not his daughter. Mauricio reminds her that it was all a misunderstanding but Anifer is now his daughter as much as hers. Maria doesn’t care about that and wonders if he was going on a trip or if it was Fabian. Mauricio explains that he almost left with Anifer but decided against it. However, Anifer still thinks she’s dead, just like he did a few weeks ago. Maria can’t believe this happened but Mauricio tells her that he can’t confess the truth to Anifer right now, not after all they’ve been through. He asks for some time to find the best way to tell Anifer the truth. Maria doesn’t trust Mauricio though and demands he take her to Anifer, right now, or she will start to scream.
In their bedroom, Neron cradles Milady and sings as Flor watches from the bed. She thinks he’s a great father but thinks they should find a replacement for her now, as fathers alone suffer a lot more. Neron is surprised but Flor reveals that she’s joking and reiterates that she’s going to fight to get better. Neron confesses that she is nothing without him but Flor laughs and thinks he should be used to being a widower. Neron is not laughing though and chides her for her dark humor. She smiles and then goes over to him and Milady and makes him promise that they will fight for her to get better, together, and always have faith and lots of humor. Neron smiles wide and promises that he will because he loves her. She gives him a kiss and they hug.
Jorge has brought Baldo back home and chides him for telling Pablo the truth about Lili’s pregnancy. Baldo wanted to teach Pablo a lesson but Jorge reminds him that now Pablo knows and may fight for custody of the child. Lili comes out of the kitchen then and overhears them. She tells Baldo that Jorge may not have been in their lives, but he is exactly like him, and then chides Jorge for being religious but also judgmental. Valentina and Samuel come downstairs then and ask what happened but Jorge instructs them all to go to bed. Lili decides to confess the truth and tells her siblings that she’s pregnant. Samuel and Valentina are shocked.
Pablo knocks on Neron’s door and Neron wonders if they robbed the shop, as he’s all bruised, but Pablo assures him everything is fine but he needs some advice. Neron wonders what about and Pablo confesses that he’s going to be a father. Neron is floored.
Mauricio opens the door for Maria, who demands to see Anifer, as Renee walks over to them. Mauricio introduces Renee as his girlfriend but Maria wants to see Anifer, now. Renee explains that her daughter is very charming and loveable but she’s sleeping right now. Maria doesn’t care, she wants to see her either way, and Mauricio and Renee take her to Anifer’s room so she can watch her sleep. Maria sees her and immediately begins to cry as Mauricio begs her to remember that Anifer thinks she’s dead and it would scare her to see she’s alive right now. Renee agrees and Mauricio begs her not to take Anifer right now. Maria approaches her daughter and considers this…

Renée was really good in knowing that something was up with Mauricio.
I hope Lili and Pablo are back together again and soon. It will drive Jorge and Baldo crazy.
A big thumbs up for
Nerón and his care in telling Flor about her illness and being the support she needs. In spite of his obsession with his age and his initial embarrassment in admitting to his sons that he was with Flor, he is turning out to be maybe the best of the group at this point.
Mauricio for finally doing the right thing for Anifer and María.
Jarifa, you are being naughty! "I hope Lili and Pablo are back together again and soon. It will drive Jorge and Baldo crazy." You cracked me up :-)
Flor is a real trooper, and she is dealing with her illness really well. Hopefully she feels as positive inside and she is not just putting on a brave face. In any event this is another instance of positive complementarity. Nerón is depressive and Flor is upbeat, and together they make a great team, much like Jorge and Kika... when Kika finally turns him into a decent human being.
Milady keeps growing. Unless Flor and Nerón get married soon, Milady will be able to dance at their wedding.
I want to see how Maria handles her reunion with Anifer.
andy
I was impressed with Kika's response "I really don't know what to do" regarding Lili's pregnancy. She does not pretend to be a knowitall. But thank heavens for her, for Lili's sake. I wanted Kika to smack Jorge up the side of his head with her big handbag.
Jorge's pants are so on fire and his nose gets longer every episode. I'm almost wishing an anvil for him. What a jerk.
Glad Mau came back and is finally honest (as he can be) with Maria.
Maybe Flor will get a second opinion and she will have anemia instead of cancer.
One playoff game down, many more to go.
The Flor storyline is depressing , especially since I have a dear friend coping with stage 4 lung cancer for the last few years.Baldo reminds me of a little bantam rooster defending sister',s honor (?)Hey, it takes two to bunnyhop and Lily was anxious that dance.
Ani loves her mother, so I have to hope that she was a good mother.
Kids crying over an imminent divorce, a frightened husband letting his wife know she has leukemia, the emotional fallout of an unplanned pregnancy, tension between Rafa and Rodrigo, not to mention the wee tiny problem of Maria, mother of Anifer, "coming back from the dead".
But you did your usual smooth job of resuming all the upsetting events, Alfredo.
Forgot to mention yesterday that I also found the scenes of Veronica "coaching" the soccer team hysterically funny. The angrier she got about the other woman, the more pushups she made those poor little kids do. Cracked me up. Fortunately most of them were doing something other than push ups and found a way to get comfortable. But very funny as she shrieked away.
Doris, one of my uncles died of leukemia. But for a year, his doctor thought he had anemia and treated him for that instead. But maybe in this story, that will turn out to be the right answer.
Clearly, the writers' game plan is for all these deficient dads to learn to be "padres a toda madre" by the end. And I imagine that includes Rodrigo and Rafa. We shall see.
Pablo is waaaay too nice. I wanted him to beat Baldo to a pulp. Or hold him at arm's length and tell him "Hey, the little Hoe was beggin for it.", not really true, as far as the Hoe part goes, but Baldo and Jorge both need a lesson.
Vero----Tono----FF zzzzz
I still don't know how Mau, Ani and ReKnee got from boarding the plane to Maria's Hotel door, or at least how Mauricio did. I suppose given the time left between commercials was spent on Vero and Tono rather than showing us how that happened. Onward.
So our last scene was Maria seeing her little Angelfer peacefully sleeping in her bed. How are these people going to resolve this? Anifer has already replaced Maria with Renee and Mauricio, although she has to be overjoyed to discover that her Mom is alive. Does she just ride off into the sunset with Maria? Does Maria move in with Mau and Renee? Does Renee then move out and back in with RifRaf, HotRod and ToNoT? Does she stay and Mau just goes to Rooms to Go and buys a three people sized bed from Sofia Viagra?
This is messy, and Mau has not done everything right, but the vast majority of this is not actually his fault. And my gut is that Maria is not the pure saintly little thing we might be thinking too. Like how did she and Anifer get separated to begin with? And we have a lots of TN left for Mau to become a NOT Papa.
Thanks again Alfredo, and our patio folks for your entertaining thoughts. What a mess.
Andy, after Jorge’ s reaction to Lili’s pregnancy and barely veiled criticism of her dead mother, he deserves only the best kind of torment. : )
Here is hoping for more “funny” tonight!
I suppose "Life" is teaching Neuron a lesson with the sacrifice of his young wife. Wow, nobody said life is fair did they?
Somebody should explain that to RifRaf. You can't have a boyfiend and make babies, the two schemes are just not compatible. Life requires choices sometimes. I know, it's not fair, Sorry sweetie. :-)
Now that Maria has seen her darling daughter asleep at her new parents house, will Renee kill her and Maria can die knowing her daughter is happy and safe?
Jarifa, Andy, Will Lili's baby have three eyes to punish Jorge?
I think all the seven deadly sins have been covered. I was wondering about Sloth, but Vero and Toño are too lazy to out the needed work into repairing their relationship.
Rafa is obsessed with having a child. Obsessed with a capital "0". Reminds me of someone I knew decades ago who could not conceive child #2. She put herself and hubby thru every possible test and procedure the 1980s had to offer. Finally got to where I could not stand to be around her because that was ALL she could talk about. Yep, I've met Rafa already. He would give up that veterinary practice to get a child.
Keeping my fingers crossed for a second opinion with anemia diagnosis for Flor. 🤞🏻 I don't like her current doctor and don't trust him.
This was to be international travel into a northern country in the middle of winter. Ani just packed her bag on her own. People put more thought into going to buy milk.
"but the balloon punches back" - funny.
They announced boarding to "Ciudad de Maryland"
Mau - better late than never. Luckily it occurred to him to confess to Renée and she set him straight. At least he was able to repair somewhat his relationship with María, save his relationship with Ani. Renée is also super forgiving. Lack of trust, lying and manipulation deserved disciplinary actions on her part.
I like how Flor took the news. No wonder her table at the patio is so crowded.
"Jorge prefers to pretend like nothing happened" - this should be his life slogan.
I think Lili needs Pablo now more than ever. She is not finding love and support in her family and Pablo was giving it to her. Ever since she broke up with him she has been unhappy.
"Ciudad de Maryland"
Puleeeeze. Even we smug Gringos know that there is Guidad de Mexico and Guidad de Mexico D. F.
People put more thought into going to buy milk I thought so too.
I think Pablo still cares deeply for Lil, maybe as evidenced by his restraint when her pipsqueak twin attacked him.
Pablo LOOKS like he could defend himself. And the tire business tends to keep you in shape. yes?
This is the second night the balloon had a few funny lines.
Also, you would think that before leaving Guatemala, that Maria would at least try to find out who jailed her and what she was jailed for. That was unbelievable to me.
Flor seems to be taking the message of having the disease well enough so far, but is it one of those things where reality is going to hit and she'll be devastated? I kind of get the impression she's not taking this seriously.
So Jorge's solution to Lily's problem is sending her away in hiding? Much like what he did to her and Baldo when Yuriria told him he had kids? Or when Yuriria died and he hid them in some random apartment? He hasn't learned his lesson at all. Unless he was planning this specifically to separate her from Pablo, rather than hiding her from what people would say.
Episodes ago, Rafael had said that he wanted a kid, whether it had his DNA or Rodrigo's. But since he's so obsessed now, I'm thinking he'll want the child to be biologically his. If Rodrigo and Rafael divorce, I don't see Rafael willingly giving up custody of the child (whether or not it had Rodrigo's DNA). He would be safer being the biological parent. Regardless, the inability to have a kid so far seems to already have started draining their relationship.
Maia
Perhaps it’s just me, but I feel there is so much that resembles real life in this show. Parents who (sadly) do not know how to show their children they love them, death, regret, bitter, bickering families, partners differing on having a family, devastating illness, difficulties in relationships all around. I know I've left things out.
“Tono hugs Tania and Fidel, tight, and so does Veronica, asking them who loves them more. Esperanza is probably wondering how they have stooped so low”. Deep sigh.
Yet, there is so much good. So much trust, understand, love and resolve. Anifer shows steady, unwaivering love and affection. One of life’s most precious gifts. “Mauricio takes her in his arms, gives her a hug, and tells her that he’s very happy that she’s so happy and loves her very much. He then asks if she loves him from the moon and back and Anifer screams that she does and hugs him again”. Lovely.
Susanlynn, will say a prayer for your friend. There is always a bit of hope. We have to believe that.
“Flor nods and Neron asks her not to get depressed, because they will fight this, and Flor assures him that she will”. And I love your idea about a different diagnosis doris. I know it does happen as Judy noted. Flor must live another day. Many, many more days! We have hope.
“Jorge suggests they take a long trip so no one finds out the truth”. I thought he and Lili might have a real father/daughter moment but it was ruined with “Jorge suggests they take a long trip so no one finds out the truth”. We have frustration.
Jarifa, I sort of sensed Mau would do the right thing as well. I'm suspecting Maria might not cotton to the idea of settling down in the cul de sac so that they can be one big, happy family. I'm concered as to how they are going to resolve this too Kirby.
I need to ask our resident expert Andy. Was this Milady number 2, 3 or new number ??
I know Bado (not a typo) cares about his sister, but I had to smile at his telling Pablo he was going to kill him. Pablo should have simply swatted him away.
I am also glad Kika is on the scene. She is going to be huge help.
Great recap, great comments and another amazing shot from Mr. Johnson. Definitely in my top 10.
A good day. Happy Friday!
Alfredo, what would we do without you.
Diana
Jarifa, I agree with both of your “thumbs up” statements. And I like, Kirby am baffled, ““I still don't know how Mau, Ani and ReKnee got from boarding the plane to Maria's Hotel door, or at least how Mauricio did.” Had I been directing this scene I would have had Mau running out of the airport (on fast forward) and arriving at María’s hotel room at warp speed with a transition to normal speed. At least we would have something to chuckle about…though that balloon punching back brought on a smile too.
Andy, “Flor is a real trooper, and she is dealing with her illness really well. Hopefully she feels as positive inside and she is not just putting on a brave face.” My first thought was that she was putting on a brave face, but as the scene continued, I had my doubts and hoped that it was her positive energy coming through. I too hope that the second opinion proves a better diagnosis.
Doris, “I wanted Kika to smack Jorge up the side of his head with her big handbag.” You and I both!
Susy, “Baldo reminds me of a little bantam rooster defending sister's honor (?) Hey, it takes two to bunnyhop and Lily was anxious that dance.” Lili was definitely quite anxious to dance; Pablo probably could have held out until after a wedding.
JudyB, “the writers' game plan is for all these deficient dads to learn to be "padres a toda madre" by the end.” At the rate these dads are going, it would seem unlikely...especially since we’re over tha half-way mark and some have only taken a few baby steps. BUT in TNland things take a turn quite quickly.
Kirby, “I think Pablo still cares deeply for Lil, maybe as evidenced by his restraint when her pipsqueak twin attacked him. Pablo LOOKS like he could defend himself.” Yup, Pablo could easily take the bantam rooster and pluck his feathers. I liked the way Baldo came at him a couple of times and Pablo just pushed him off like a gnat.
Maia, “you would think that before leaving Guatemala, that Maria would at least try to find out who jailed her and what she was jailed for. That was unbelievable to me.” It would be unbelievable to me too if there weren’t a child involved. María’s priority, as any good mother’s would be, is to be with her child. Maybe once that happens, María can focus on who did what and why. Can you imagine being in her shoes and some stranger comes and tells you he is now your child’s father??? The story Mauricio told her is pretty hard to believe.
Diana, "“Jorge suggests they take a long trip so no one finds out the truth”. I thought he and Lili might have a real father/daughter moment but it was ruined with “Jorge suggests they take a long trip so no one finds out the truth”." I was hoping for that real father/daughter moment. Jorge seems to always start the right way, saying how much he cares and loves them...and then he finishes off with his antiquated foot in his mouth.
Kirby, great shot! There does seem to be that look of annoyance. Did daddy eagle drop his fish?
I agree that this tn has turned into a dismal, depressing , messy mess. The intro with the upbeat music and people dancing around has become very misleading. Relentless PsAs that sh*t happens to everyone , so fasten your seatbe!ts.
Doris, I am sure that we all know people in real life who are going through similar trials and tribulations. One of my best friends adopted a baby after trying to get pregnant for a few years. Two years later , she got pregnant. She told us that her hubby didn't want another baby..he wanted a boat. #,substantive Fast forward to when both babies were teens...She divorced him. Good riddance. Then, my older daughter was seeing doctors to get pregnant the second time. Then, last year.... New city, New job, New house...... New baby\,grandgirl#4
Jorny Jorge thinks that he can hide anything that he is ashamed of. Hey, God sees all. He should know that.He knows exactly what you are and what you are doing.
What was up with Rod looking distracted and playing with his ring? He never seemed as anxious to be a parent as Rafe.
Maybe now Neuron will stop obsessing about getting old because Flor needs him. When you are needed by someone you love, you just cannot get old. You have to keep going for them.
P.s. I think that I actually had Vero as a gym teacher. #hatedtheropelovedgymnasticsandsocialdancing
If Jorge and Lili were to take the long trip, does that imply they would return home without the baby?
Maia
I wish R&R would start thinking about adoption if they are still thinking about having children. I am not sure Rodrigo is as enthused as Rafa, as Susanlynn as others have noted.
Kirby, "Angelfer", love it!
andy
Susanlynn ..... and I was trying to make #substantive work in your comment. LOL
Kirby - LOVE the new eagle pic and your caption!
Knowing Jorge, my answer would be "yes", that baby would be given up for adoption.
With Humans? ? ? flap flap,
Well bless my big yellow pecker.
Yay, both Mau and Neron did the right thing.
Maria sees her and immediately begins to cry as Mauricio begs her to remember that Anifer thinks she’s dead and it would scare her to see she’s alive right now.
But I don’t understand why waking up Anifer, and Mauricio and Renee explaining to her that her mother is alive after all and had been in jail, and then taking her into the next room to reunite with her mother would be scary for her. Am I missing something?
Loved Lili not going along with Jorge's nonsense and instead spilling the beans to Valentina and Samuel.
Wow. Captcha just ran me through the wringer. ;-p
I think deep down under that TOO TIGHT hairdo Lili is overjoyed that she is now 'Forced' to reunite with Pablo.
Mark my word.
