Or How To Avoid Talking About Important Things Starring Mauricio and Renee

At Mauricio’s, Maria is tired of everyone around her trying to tell her what is the best thing to do, including Mauricio and Fabian. Mauricio admits that he has been pushy but warns her that Fabian is not to be trusted, and Renee agrees, and reminds her that he only wants to hurt Anifer. Either way, Maria thinks both he and Fabian are juniors who are used to everyone giving them want they want and using others. She tells Mauricio that she is going to demand him so any rights he has over Anifer are over.

At Tono’s, Tono cooks dinner as Esperanza observes the children. She notes are mature they are being about the divorce and thinks her son and Veronica did an excellent job. Tono thinks it’s about time he received some credit for something and Esperanza asks him to be quiet as Veronica comes and reminds Tono about Ernesto’s therapy. He’s on it and Veronica hands him some documents about her recent research online and asks him to share it with the doctor. Tono thinks her research supports what they already know about the new doctor’s treatment and Veronica nods, frustrated, before leaving. Veronica then says goodbye to her children and Anifer and leave. Once alone in the living, the kids question Anifer about her recently resuscitated mother and Anifer explains that she was never dead and offers to bring her over so they can meet her. The kids agree.

Jorge arrives home and finds the children setting up the table. He tells them that he just stopped by to see how things are going and Samuel asks if he is eating lunch at Logatoys. Jorge nods and the goes into the real reason he’s there: to discuss a new development in their life. Jorge sits them all down and reveals that he has been fired from Logatoys and they need to tighten their belt, especially now that they have a new member in the family. Samuel wonders how they are going to get by and Jorge explains that he’s looking for work as a lawyer but is currently driving for another company to make ends meet. All the kids look dejected.

Maria thinks Mauricio and Fabian are using Anifer to win some childish fight but Mauricio and Renee argue that Anifer has been through the winger and needs some stability. Renee also notes that Anifer needs a father but Maria reminds them that she cared for the girl for 7 years without help. Mauricio wonders if she ever asked Anifer, who welcomed his fatherly love with open arms, if she ever needed a father. Renee reminds Mauricio that she grew up with a single mother and she never needed a father. However, she can’t speak for Anifer and notes that she has both a mother and father that can’t make up their minds. She reminds Maria that she is jobless, penniless, and freshly out of jail, so she won’t be able to offer Anifer what she deserves for the time being. On top of that, Fabian is likely the one that put her in jail and she would be wise not to trust him. Maria is adamant in taking Anifer though, as the danger is too close to them in the city, but Mauricio begins to argue when Anifer walks in and everyone grows quiet. Anifer wonders if they were fighting or something but Renee assures her they were not. Maria tells Anifer that they were actually coming to get her so she can say goodbye because they are leaving, without Renee and Mauricio, to their old house. Anifer runs to Mauricio, screams that she doesn’t want to leave without her father and hugs him tight. Maria tries to get her off Mauricio but Anifer won’t budge so she screams that Mauricio isn’t her father. Anifer is shocked (but so does everyone else-viewerville included-as they is absolutely the WORST way to reveal this secret).

Jorge explains that he feels great driving, for now, and the job is decent so it shouldn’t embarrass him. Samuel wonders if he gives his clients water and candy and Jorge nods but Valentina wants to know if he has any app ratings and Jorge nods. Baldo wants to know why they are so supportive, as he’s just a taxi driver, but is more interested in finding out if Jorge will have enough money for all of them. Lili is sure he will, as he maintained both families for years, but Baldo hopes to receive his inheritance soon so he can go. Jorge sighs deeply.

Veronica arrives at work and greets Tina, who tells her Sebastian is looking for her, as Sebastian himself walks in. Veronica wonders why he is looking for her and he, while flirting, confesses that they need someone to go to the USA and manage the branch there. Veronica tells him no, repeatedly, as her family is more important, but Sebastian tells her to think it over as this opportunity doesn’t come around very often. He leaves and Veronica asks Tina to leave her alone while she thinks.

Anifer wants to know the truth so Mauricio sits her down next to him and confesses that Maria is wrong and right because he is not her biological father but is her father either way. He elaborates that he didn’t put any DNA to make her, or see her grow in Maria’s stomach, but he loves her with all his heart. He then asks Anifer if she understands and the little girl nods, understanding that he may not have created her but he loves and cares for her all the same.

At Logatoys, Fabian informs Falcon on the latest development with Maria and Mauricio and Falcon reiterates that it was a bad move to bring Maria to Mexico City. Fabian asks him to butt out, as he knows his thinks, and assures Falcon that Maria will come crawling for help soon. Falcon reminds him that one night of passion is not enough for Maria to trust him but Fabian reminds him that he IS Anifer’s father and that will unite them forever. He serves himself a drink and gulps it down.

Anifer wants more details about her Maria and Mauricio met but they hesitate and Renee explains that they are all together and that is what’s important. Anifer nods and Mauricio tells her that she will always be his “flying monkey” though Maria asks her to say goodbye because they have to leave. Anifer doesn’t want to leave her father, as they are like the father/daughter toy and runs to her room to show Maria the toys. Maria wonders what to do and Anifer tells her a secret: she wants to stay and live with her father. Renee overhears but says nothing.

At the shop, Neron calls Cicero to ask him for a loan as Socretes doesn’t have any but Cicero can’t lend him anything because he’s still short from when they lent him money for the shop. He thanks Cicero either way and hangs up as Pablo asks him if everything is okay. Neron nods and then asks Pablo and the other employee if they thought of other ways to bring in new business. They are quiet and he orders them to thing of something to drum up business, pronto.

Anifer asks Maria if she can live with Mauricio but Maria is unsure. Renee offers to take her for a walk and leaves Mauricio and Maria alone to talk. Mauricio is shocked that Maria told Anifer the truth about his paternity and Maria confesses that she regrets it. Mauricio nods and Maria reminds that she has to restart her live and go back home to see what happened to her house, her things, etc.

At Renee’s, Rafael and Rodrigo continue to argue about their child. Rodrigo continues to argue that adoption would be the best method and easiest, especially because having a biological child is difficult, but Rafael is adamant in having a biological child. Rodrigo thinks that things are hard enough for them as a couple already and they don’t need to add such a difficult process to their lives but Rafael demands he stop screaming. Rodrigo decides to leave then and storms out as Rafael curses his luck.

Outside, Rodrigo gets in his car and leaves as Renee chats with Anifer at the gazebo about how much her relationship with Mauricio has changed. Anifer tells her that she still loves him, even if he isn’t her father, and wants to be with him, as Renee reminds him that she never called him father in the beginning but have grown closer than ever. Renee wonders how things would’ve been with her own father but tells Anifer that her father is likely dead so she will never have a relationship with him. Anifer thinks he could still be alive, like Maria was, and Renee smiles slightly, considering this.

Mauricio understands Maria’s reasons for not trusting him but offers him his house and everything, completely, so that Anifer can stay with them. Maria finally relents and agrees to stay though it won’t be forever and Mauricio nods. Maria confesses that she never expected Anifer to need a father so much but things happen. Mauricio smiles and tells her that she hasn’t seen nothing yet because he’s “a papa a toda madre!” Maria smiles.

Anifer confesses that she misses Mauricio a lot when he goes on trips and Renee smiles before telling her that he is her father, no matter what. Mauricio and Maria then come and tell Anifer the good news: they are staying, for now! Renee offers to rearrange some things so Maria can stay with Anifer and Mauricio is sure that Maria will want to stay after a few months. As Renee observes from a few feet away, a look of quiet despair across her face, Mauricio tells Anifer that Maria will be with them and they can hang out and go to the movies, like a family. Anifer suggests Maria take her to school as well as Renee goes to answer a phone call from Wilma. She barely listens as Wilma talks because all she can see is Mauricio and Maria, walking home with Anifer, like one big, happy family.

Tono takes Ernesto to the doctor, who tries to break the ice with some games and puzzles, but Ernesto is quiet. Tono tries to help by starting the game but the doctor asks him to wait outside while they get sorted. Tono reluctantly agrees and steps out.

Renee tells Wilma that she wasn’t able to go to Maryland and hasn’t been able to fix the issues with her master’s program because of personal programs. In fact, she may consider not going to Maryland all together. Wilma reminds her that time is of the essential and wonders if Mauricio is to blame for her change of heart; she wants to know why Renee is putting her future on hold for a man.

That night, Mauricio cooks dinner for all the women in his life. He made lasagna with meat but Maria reminds Anifer that they barely ate meat in their town because of the carbon footprint cattle farming leaves and because of the mistreatment of animals in general. Maria is shocked that Anifer eats meat but Anifer loves it and thinks Mauricio is almost a chef because they eat French fries and pork rinds almost daily. Mauricio tries to stop her from over sharing but Maria is not listening because she’s eating the lasagna, which she thinks is delicious. Mauricio and Renee share a look as Maria asks him to use his phone, because she doesn’t want to use the one Fabian gave her, so she can call her co-workers at the cooperative company. Mauricio wonders if she has experience with cooperative companies as he would like her help with some things. Renee doesn’t think it’s a good idea but Mauricio thinks it’s great.

At Fabian’s, Noel asks if the company is dismantled but Fabian explains that it’s difficult. Noel wonders what is taking so long but Fabian tries to change the conversation and asks Noel about his day. Noel prefers talk about Mauricio and wonders what he’s doing these days; he also notes that Mauricio did know how to tank a company, unlike Fabian. Fabian hates to be compared with Mauricio but Noel knows he was always jealous and wanted to be Bosco’s son. In fact, he thinks he would’ve been better off with Mauricio because, despite his many faults, is better than Fabian in every way. Fabian can’t contain the anger that floods his face at this thought.

At home, Tono and Veronica sit down at the table for a snack, alone, and discuss Ernesto. Tono tells her that therapy went good and he already did his homework so Veronica thinks it’s the best time to discuss her possible move to USA, as Sebastian offered it to her again today, and explains that Ernesto would receive better treatment in the USA. Tono thinks she is suing Ernesto’s illness as an excuse and tells her that he won’t allow her to take his children away from him. Veronica reminds her that they are also her children and thinks the move would help all of them. Neither of them notice that the children are listening to them argue again.

Renee looks at outgoing flights to Maryland, alone as Mauricio asks if she’s leaving. Renee nods and understands why he and Anifer would stay behind for the time being. Mauricio promises to talk things over when he read Anifer a story but Renee asks him to talk now, as what is happening is important for both of them. Mauricio looks worried.

Jorge calls Kika and asks her to book a Transporcity ride though she wonders why all the secrecy. Jorge asks her to do it and hangs up as Kika books a ride through the app. She is shocked to see Jorge’s photo pop up as her driver.

Renee doesn’t want to fight or reproach him for anything but she understands that now, with Maria back, Anifer is the most important thing and he needs to sort out his life before they can move forward with their relationship. Mauricio is overwhelmed by the whole ordeal but doesn’t think it’s as serious as Renee says. Renee thinks it is as they were about to leave to Maryland, but didn’t, because Maria arrived; either way, she needs to resolve her life as well, soon. Mauricio notes that she has been indecisive about the whole thing and asks her to go sort out her master’s program in Maryland, without him. Neither of them look happy about this but what can you do?

Kika runs outside her hotel and demands to know since when Jorge is driving for Transporcity. Jorge is surprised.

Noel wonders if Fabian is angry because he compared him to the son of his enemy, Mauricio, but Fabian notes that he still loves Mauricio more than he loves him. He also wonders what the big difference between them is and Noel reminds him that Mauricio didn’t kill his mother when he was born.

Renee doesn’t want to leave without Mauricio but she thinks it will have to happen because they each have their own problems to solve. Mauricio still doesn’t think it’s a big deal, they will solve them and move on together. He then shares his future plans to buy a house for Anifer and Maria in the cul-de-sac but Renee thinks he is moving too quickly and suggests he give Maria some time. Mauricio thinks they shouldn’t be discussing this and Renee nods before reminding him that they should each solve their issues, alone. Nether of them notice that Maria heard the tail end of their conversation and scurried back inside Anifer’s room.

Tono and Veronica go to the master bedroom to argue about her decisions of late. Tono thinks she’s trying to take his children way from him while furthering her career but Veronica argues that he would do the same thing in her position. In fact, he would’ve told her after he had made the decision to move. Tono proposes they stop fighting, as they are already getting divorced, and Veronica nods before asking if she’s keeping the house for her and the children. Tono reminds her that they got the house together so it’s both of theirs. Veronica is exasperated at this point.

Jorge explains to Kika that he never told her about his new job because he was embarrassed, especially because she’s a famous businesswoman, but Kika understands that he does it for his children, even if it’s not ideal. She proposes he be her lawyer in Mexico City but Jorge shakes his head as he’d rather have her love instead of a job. He thinks everything is temporary either way and he will bounce back. Kika reiterates that she knows he’s a good lawyer, which is why she offered him the job, and Jorge smiles because he has no doubt that she loves and values him. He then opens the door to his car and asks her where he takes her. She smiles and tells her to take her to the street of love before kissing him.

The next morning, Mauricio prepares breakfast for Anifer and Maria, who thanks him, and Anifer asks if he noticed her hair. Mauricio did and confesses to Maria that it was untamable for a while but he got it under control. He then asks Anifer to hurry, as they have to get to school, and Maria asks if she can go so the school gets to know her. Mauricio agrees and reminds her that they also have cooperative company meeting. Maria then asks about Renee and Mauricio explains that she left early in the morning and excuses himself to the kitchen to have a silent cry.

At the Foundation, Renee asks Sonia to go with her to Maryland and Sonia agrees to do so, as she has a friend in Maryland who can help. Renee is glad that she never officially cancelled her entrance paperwork and confesses that she barely has enough to stay a week in the US, so it’s best they don’t say longer than that. Sonia offers to loan her some money but Renee shakes her head, as she doesn’t want to abuse. Sonia thinks she should accept, as she knows Renee is good for it, and Renee accepts but only if she stays longer than a week and really needs it. Sonia is just happy to help her achieve her dreams and they go off to sort out the details.

Veronica says goodbye to her children and Esperanza as Tono announces that he is dropping off his resume at a job that is sure to be the one he was looking for. He then asks Veronica to stay as Tania has a very important decision: ballet or soccer? Tono thinks she looks beautiful in a tutu but Veronica thinks she should chose whatever she wants. She looks at Tono then and he looks back at her, fire blazing from both their eyes.

Mauricio and Maria come back home and discuss how horrible some of the people at school were and note the necessity of a partner to help you out in life. Maria then confesses that her last relationship was with Fabian and Mauricio is shocked. He proposes they go out or download some apps so she can get laid but Maria laughs before asking him to stop. She explains that a boyfriend was never her thing and jail wasn’t too sexy so she was out of options. Mauricio thinks she needs to get back out there and Maria agrees before Mauricio grows serious and asks her to sit down. He wants to know how she landed in jail and Maria explains that she was arrested on false charges, which were suddenly dropped and explained as “a mistake.” Mauricio wonders if Fabian had anything to do with it but Maria thinks Fabian just got lucky as corporations falsely imprison people all the time to stop them from rebelling or protesting. She then asks if they should go to the meeting and Mauricio nods.

Neron and Flor listen go to the doctor and listen to the various options available. Flor stops him and asks him to tell her what the best course of treatment is, straight up. The doctor lists a bunch of side effects to the treatment and Flor smiles slightly and tells Neron that she will buy a collection of wigs in different colors. Neron chides her for joking, as her illness is something serious, but the doctor thinks Flor’s attitude will be a big factor in her progress. The doctor then tells them they can start today if they want and they agree so Neron goes to pay a portion of what is owed for services. Flor asks him to save some money for her wigs, as they are expensive, but Neron is not in a laughing mood…
