Papá a toda madre Wednesday 4/11/18 Capitulo 60: Mauricio Crosses the Line--OR--Kika to the Rescue
Renée is playing with Anifer and talking about jobs. Renée thinks it is really important to learn how to do a job well and if you end up liking it, that is even better. Anifer is clearly bothered by something so Renée asks what it is. Anifer asks if Renée is still going to go study for her Master's degree. Renée tries to explain that she still wants to but has decided that this might not be the best time. Anifer says that she got really sad when she found out that Renée would be leaving. Renée asks why she didn't say anything to her. Anifer didn't want Renée to be sad because she knows that she likes robots a lot. Renée tells her that she also likes being able to stay and for Anifer not to miss her. Anifer talks about a classmate whose mother wanted to go study but who decided to stay with him because a woman has to give up everything for her family just like Renée. That comment leaves Renée deep in thought.
Valentina is trying to get into the bathroom thinking that it is Samuel. When he appears, it turns out it must be Lili who has locked herself up in the bathroom. She is seated with her cellphone on the floor. Valentina screaming about there only being one bathroom cannot distract Lili from her calendar as she tries to determine if it has been two months or three . . .Lili is clearly upset but finally decides to leave. Valentina runs in as Samuel follows her saying he was there first.
Jorge is still meeting with Mauricio telling him that that all of the tension at the start of anything is normal. Mauricio agrees and is not worried. He trusts all of them because they all are, and especially Jorge, really awesome guys. Jorge brings up the topic of María. Mauricio just does not want Anifer to have to suffer. Jorge would hope that maybe all charges against María could be dropped. He tries to think the best of her. Maybe she got caught up in something she didn't know much about. Mauricio says she didn't try to hurt him or Anifer. She could be one of those beautiful compassionate persons, kind, a real friend, in solidarity with he friends. Maybe it is time to have some good thoughts about her. Jorge thinks maybe they are going overboard. . . Mauricio hopes that she can't find them. Jorge adds he hopes she doesn't find Fabián either. Mauricio adds that maybe he and Fabián can come to some kind of an agreement. Jorge adds that when people make agreements, they usually stick with them. Mauricio says he likes Jorge better when he isn't being ironic.
Nerón is home with Flor and Milady. She went to the doctor about feeling poorly. She is sure it is just anemia. She just probably needs vitamins. She will be going back for her results on Thursday or Friday. Nerón's phone rings. Whoever is talking to him has gotten him very nervous. Nerón makes up a story about having to go to his tire shop and leaves. The job always comes first.
Mauricio is puttng Anifer to bed and tells her that if she does not want to hear about the nightmare of Red Riding Hood he does not blame her. She corrects him it is "Little" Red Riding Hood". Mauricio asks that she tell him "something" for a change. It can be anything and not necessarily a story. She tells him that she asked Renée why she wasn't off studying and that Renée said she would rather be there with them. Mauricio asks what Anifer thinks about that. She thinks it is great that Renée isn't going because she would really miss her a lot and Mauricio would, too. Anifer asks why Mauricio looks sad. He is sad because he knows it was not an easy decision for Renée. It is sacrificing a dream. Anifer asks him to define "sacrifice". Mauricio explains that it depends on the situation. If he says that Renée sacrificed going for her Master's degree, it is that Renée said "no" to something that she really wanted to do in order to keep something different that she also wanted to do which is staying with them. Anifer sort of gets it. She really didn't want her to go but she would have liked to have seen her school, how she makes robots and to see Renée happy. Mauricio agrees that seeing Renée happy would have been great. Anifer adds "really" great.
Jorge and the kids are around the table eating. Jorge has noticed that Lili looks very tired. Maybe the time has come for her to go to the doctor. Lili says no. The real problem is that she is just fed up with everything. The world stinks and everything is plain old disgusting. Jorge is sorry she has that kind of attitude because he does not know how to help her. Moments like this makes him think how much they need a mother in the family. Valentina does not quite agree. Samuel still misses his mother. Lili will never get used to being without hers. Sarcastic Baldo asks Jorge if he doesn't have another woman out there waiting in the wings with more kids. It wouldn't be that strange. Jorge tells him he went over the line with that comment and that he needs to watch how he is behaving. Valentina suggests that Jorge get a girlfriend not for them but for himself. Jorge disagrees. His private life is not going to be a topic for discussion. Lili excuses herself. Samuel asks if Jorge is going to go back to Logatoys or is he going to stay home with his "flu". Jorge tells him he has had a really strong case of the "flu" and he is not going back to Logatoys yet. Jorge leaves the table because he needs to get some other stuff done. He goes into the living room and texts Kika. He wants to tell her that . . . he deletes the text, sits there and just thinks.
Renée and Mauricio are sitting on the bed. He wants to know how the cancellation of her plans for her graduate studies came about. She explains about the mistake with her name being interpreted as a "male name" and going to see Adriana tomorrow to tell her she is out. The only way to fix the problem is for her to make a trip to Maryland. Much to her surprise, Mauricio suggests that they push on ahead and if she is accepted, he and Anifer can accompany her and for a few days or a few months. Renée asks about his plans for the cooperative. He explains there is a lot to do like getting money together and making plans. It all takes time. He can always go and come a few days here and there leaving Anifer with her. He wants her to see how it is all possible. She asks if he has enough money for the expenses. He has some put aside and with the money between them, he assures her it will be okay. She will check with her advisor tomorrow. That pleases Mauricio.
Mauricio is having a conversation with Jorge about taking Anifer out of the country and to the USA. Jorge is not too sure about that. What is the problem? Jorge says the problem is that it could look like he is "fleeing" with Anifer. Mauricio says it is not "fleeing" but rather "prevention". It is his "emotional intelligence" talking. He cannot risk the chance that María just appears and claims Anifer. It isn't forever and ever, just a year or two. Jorge wants to know how he is planning on paying for all of this. Mauricio has savings and if worse comes to worse, he will do the same as Renée did and sell his house. Jorge suggests that he think longer about what he is planning to do because sometimes one's first thoughts about something are not necessarily the best. Mauricio accuses Jorge of not understanding just how desperate he is. Anifer is his life. Nobody, not even María, will take her away from him.
At the airport, Falcón is meeting María Cruz who has just arrived. She asks where Mauricio and her daughter are. He says that Mr. López Garza could not make it and offers to take her. She is not going anywhere with him because she does not know him. She has enough problems as it is. He thought she would not be trusting anyone so he gives her a card with Mauricio's address where he and her daughter live. He wishes her good luck and hands over her luggage when she asks him how she is supposed to know if this is a trap or not. Still smiling, Falcón laughs thinking that Mauricio would take all of that time to play a joke on her. Falcón also thinks that if she wanted to see her daughter, it would be well worth the risk to give it a try. He gives her a cell phone, excuses himself and leaves her alone wondering with her luggage.
Renée goes to talk with her teacher/advisor Adriana to inform her about what she has decided. Her counselor says it is complicated but if it is what she really wants she should just go on ahead with her plan. Renée asks if she thinks can get her spot back by going to Maryland. Her counselor says no . . . but only because they never took her spot away because Adriana never cancelled her spot with the university. Adriana knew that Renée would think about it and change her mind and she was not wrong. Renée is so grateful. Her teacher/advisor thinks that should be able to have it all: love and her career. It won't be easy but women can do it. She thanks her teacher for changing her life again and this time she is going to take advantage of it.
Jorge calls a friend to ask him to keep an eye open fo him if he knows of a job. His friend has no good news talking about unemployment. Jorge hangs up, crosses his name off the list and looks defeated. The doorbell rings. It is Kika who marches straight into the house. Jorge wants to know what she is doing there. Did they not have an agreement to meet at her suite? She was thinking about that and that is why she has come to his house to asks him right here and right now what he feels for her.
Toño finds out from Neto's teacher that Verónica beat him to the punch to be a coach for Neto's soccer team. No, she never told him.
Verónica enters the gym in full coach gear. She makes sure that Yolanda, who is another coach, knows that she is there by blowing her whistle in her face.
Jorge is being his usual vague self rambling on about them already having talked about it. He does not know what to say. He never learned to talk about his feelings and it is really hard for him. She says it is never to late to learn and sits down. He is worried about the kids seeing her there. She says so what. They are not doing anything bad. She gets him to sit down. He pops back up with a thousand and one excuses. Kika is becoming increasingly exasperated and wants to know here and now. He sits down again. She asks him if he only desires her sexually (he does his usual yes, no) or does he feel something more serious for her? (his usual yes, no is the answer) He finally says that he does need a woman in his life and he does like her a lot( Kika is smiling) but he does not know if she is the "ideal" woman for him. Kika's smile fades with that thought. He goes on to explain how "different" they are. She is "ultra liberal""liberal" in the extreme. He is extremely conservative. Kika starts to speak and tells him she understands him very well. He is old fashioned and will have to get beyond his prejudices before something can happen between them. Not exactly, he tells her she is just very modern. She agrees and he is a prehistoric cavemen. He says that could very well be but then jumps up and starts arranging a painting on the wall when he hears the front door opening. It is Lili. He asks why she is home so early. She didn't feel well so they allowed her to leave school early. Kika notices that she is a little pale and suggests a trip to the doctor. Lili then talks about being a little nauseous as Kika nods knowingly to herself. . . Suddenly Lili makes a run for the bathroom where thay all hear her throwing up.
Renée calls Mauricio with the good news. He is walking around the cul-de-sac as he talks to her. He thinks it is a good sign that her position is waiting for her. It must be meant to be. Renée says she is not a man but she should be able to talk to them and solve that problem. If she wants, he will meet her outside of the school and they can go see about the flight and go out to eat with Anifer to celebrate. As he hangs up, a woman (María) pulling a suitcase approaches him. She tells him that she is looking for Mauricio López Garza. He asks "Mauricio?". She says yes, "Mauricio." As far as she knows, he lives in this cul-de-sac with her daughter Anifer.
Lili is still throwing up as Pablo and Kika stand outside of the bathroom door. Pablo keeps turning around and telling Kika repeatedly that she can go but Kika does not move until she drags Jorge away from the door as he is telling Lili that things can not go on like this with her being so tired, depressed, etc. etc. Kika tells him that that is no way to deal with Lili. He has "tacto de manco" (all of the touch of a one armed man) :) He tells her she has no adolescents so what does she know. Kika disagrees and reminds him that she is an expert on adolescents because they are the majority of people who follow her blog. She returns to the bathroom door and tells Lili that she is not like her caveman father and is not prejudiced nor does she judge people. She then asks Lili the question Lili does not want to think about. Did Lili have sex without protecting herself as she should have done? Yes or no? She asks if Lili used a condom. Jorge cannot believe what he is hearing. Lili is his daughter, his little girl, a decent young lady. Kika says Lili is not a little girl. Jorge asks her to leave. She tells "Mr. Flintstone" that his daughter is tired, nauseous and depressed. She went off with her boyfriend and they had unprotected sex. She is probably pregnant. She repeats "pregnant" slowly so Jorge can get it into his head in the middle of his hysterical reaction. Lili is all alone crying on the bathroom floor.
María asks Mauricio if he could please tell her which one of the houses belongs to "Mauricio". Mauricio says nothing at first as he thinks back at a portrait Anifer had drawn of her mother. The woman in front of him looks just like the drawing. He then remembers having seen her at his birthday bash long ago in the jungle. He asks her if it is "López-Garza". Mauricio asks if she has something more than the address like his brand of car. She only has the adress and since she came from far away, she does not have any other information. She does not know much about him. She does not want to waste his time. She asks him if he is sure that Mauricio does not live in the cul-de-sac. Mauricio just shakes his head and adds that he does not live there and never has he heard of any Mauricio there. She must have made a mistake or somebody is playing a joke on her. She agrees that that could be the case. She goes to leave and Mauricio asks her to leave her phone number or her address so he can contact her if he finds out something from the neighbors. María says that will not be necessary. She is going to check the address and take it from there and come back if she has to. Mauricio insists that "Mauricio" does not live there as she turns and leaves. Mauricio hurries to his house as María reaches the gate, takes out her phone but then decides to just leave.
At Logatoys, Fabián is pouring whiskey into a glass as he asks Falcón if he is sure that María went straight to the cul-de-sac. Falcón is sure. How Fabián would like to see Mauricio's face! Falcón is worried that María could take some sort of action against Fabián; like a lawsuit. Fabián just laughs. The person who is going to have problems with her is going to be Mauricio for taking her daughter, and changing her name by filing false papers. Falcón gets it now and how that concentrates their power at Logatoys if Fabián's father allows it. Fabián assures him that his father is going to be very proud of him when he sees the rebirth of the company he worked so hard for his whole life.
Nerón is at the doctor's office. It was the doctor who had called him at home. The doctor wanted to tell Nerón the bad news first because he was worried how Flor's reaction would affect her being there with the baby. Flor has leukemia . . . a kind of cancer of the bone marrow. The doctor assures him there are treatments and he wants to start them as soon as possible. He wants Nerón to come with Flor to her next appointment because, as he said earlier, he is worried about her reaction.
Back outside of the bathroom door, Kika is telling Jorge about the birds and the bees talking about boys and girls and how they get frisky. Jorge doesn't want any part of it and does not want to talk about sex. He is still stuck on seeing Lili as his daughter, as his princess. Lili finally comes out. He is all over her like the Spanish Inquisition. Jorge says she hasn't done anything bad, right, nothing to be sorry about. She is still pure and a virgin, right? Lili tells "Jorge" to leave her alone and in peace. She retreats into the bathroom with Kika. They close the door and Jorge waits outside.
Verónica is busy training the kids at soccer practice when Toño arrives on the scene. He is surprised that she suddenly has the time to do this. She tells him that her job has been super understanding with her situation and with Neto because she would do absolutely anything for him. Verónica is wondering why he is there as he waves at Yolanda. Verónica says she gets it now with Yolanda being there. Toño insists he came to see the kids. Verónica does not believe him. She tells him to go be with Yolanda. He does not have to pretend with her. It is all the same since they are going to get a divorce. They start arguing back and forth about who started all their problems. Verónica thinks that it would be a great idea for him to go look for a job instead of spying on her and just maybe he will find something.
Back in the bathroom, Kika is talking to Lili saying that she knows all about girls her age. Having sex with her boyfriend is the most natural thing in the world but can be problematic at her age because of the consequences. She is guessing that Lili had sex with her boyfriend and they did not use birth control. Lili admits they did have sex but only one time without protection. Her period is late and she does not know what to do. She is overwhelmed. She has an upset stomach all of the time. Kika suggests that she take a pregnancy test to find out for sure if she is pregnant. Lili says she is really afraid. Kika can understand that but she has to find out. Maybe she should go to the doctor. Lili just does not want that ogre Jorge to come along. Kika says she will take care of her caveman of a father. Kika leaves the bathroom to get her purse as Jorge runs after her asking what Lili told her. Kika goes back to the bathroom and shuts the door in his face. She then opens it to find him leaning against it trying to listen. He "spots" something that is"supposedly" broken in the bathroom that he has to go fix and leaves.
At the hospital Rodrigo is talking to Rafael saying that he hopes he is not going to continue being angry with Renée because of all the money they invested already on doctor's visits and tests. Rafael says no. They cleared up things between them. To continue the process, they will have to use part of their savings. Rafael sees it as another yes or no proposition: either they can have a child or buy Renée's house. Rafael wants to keep on trying. Rodrigo is not so sure. They could let it go and return to it in a couple of years. Rafael does not want them to be old parents like Nerón. Rafael thinks that if they are going to have a child, now is the time.
Mauricio meets Renée outside of Anifer's school. He says he has a surprise. He has tickets for a flight to Maryland for tonight. She wants to know what the rush is. He just says the sooner the better. The can go as one big happy family. Anifer comes running out of the school. Anifer is all excited about leaving right now.
Back in the bathroom, Kika reaches into her purse and gets some makeup out for Lili. She tells her that you always have to look good for yourself, for your own self-esteem. When she was little, she didn't bother, but look at her now!!! She starts applying foundation to Lili's face and Lili smiles. Kika and Lili leave the bathroom as Jorge talks about the repairs he has to make. Jorge asks where they are going. They are going to the doctor and Kika makes sure he knows that he is not welcome at the gynecologist but he insists.
Mauricio is trying to get Renée and Anifer ready for the trip but they have tons of questions and reasons for not being able to just up and leave on a trip. Mauricio says they are going on a scouting trip to see how things would line up for Renée's graduate studies. They just have to go home and pack their bags. He has already made hotel reservations. He leads them off running in spite of their contining questions.
At the doctor's office, Jorge is ruminating around the waiting room and talking out loud to himself. Kika tries to get him to calm down and sit. The doctor finally comes out and gives Jorge the news. Lili is pregnant. He finally shuts up.
Labels: papa
Anyway, I loved the Kika scenes with Lili. Kika is a much more compassionate person than ow she was first presented. Now that Lili is pregnant, I wonder if she will get back with Pablo because the chances of her getting an abortion are like 0%.
Leukemia? I'm shocked.
And Mauricio is awfully pretty, but apparently has never been called on to actually THINK ever on this earth before. So Maria shows up and he is going to move himself and Renee and Anifer to Maryland for a couple of years? Do the writers know there are maybe 48 or so other states up here?
I loved Kika closing the bathroom door then jerking it back open and Jorge almost falling in.
I thought too much time had passed for Lili but she is there trying to figure if she is two or three months late, so it now makes sense timeline wise. You're three Hon. Already end of the first trimester, Mom.
Thanks again Jarifa
Leukemia sounds horrendous, but I’m hoping that it is a type that is treatable and curable. My question about this plot is why the doctor called and talked to Neron before talking to Flor...they aren’t even married!
Jarifa, I enjoyed the Kika/Lili scenes too. I was surprised that Lili confided in Kika, but maybe it was because she was so scared. I’m not sure if she'll want to get back with Pablo; she was pretty set on not seeing him ever again.
Where the heck did Mauricio get money for a trip? I know he said he had some money saved...since when??
Maybe Neuron doesn't let her have a phone.
On second thought, hers is probably just burned out.. :-)
I'm a bit bummed out by Flor's having leukemia. Hopefully it will be curable, but if morbid Nerón keeps going around like they are both at the edge of death she might have a bad case of depression to deal with as well.
I have been wondering what would happen if Maria arrived back on the scene. Now maybe we'll see.
I thought Vero was all finished with Toño?
And that bedroom scene with Mau and Renee! Wow, do they sizzle together!
:-)
andy
Oh no, poor Flor. I cannot believe the writers decided on this twist. Neuron is obsessing over his health and finding a replacement . In the meantime, his young lover is the one who is really sick. I use telanovalas to escape reality, and this one is getting too real and too sad.
As to Lily not realizing that she is pregnant for so long...denial is not just a river in Eygpt.
Kirby, very true: Mauricio “has never been called on to actually THINK before.” ( at the beginning of this novela, I wondered if he was really conscious behind his eyes) Now when he does “think” he will end up making himself look like a felon on the run after lying to María’s face.
RgvChick, I thought the same thing about the Dr. calling Nerón. Could it be that the Dr. thinks they are married? Or that the writers just wanted more drama? : ( The diagnosis was enough drama for me.
Andy, clearly Verónica still has it bad for Toño. Those poor kids doing the push ups!
Susanlynn, you and me both escaping through the novelas! And Lili . . . Not being able to remember if she had not had her period for how long? You had me laughing with the “denial” this a.m.
Another jewel Jarifa.
"he tells her she is just very modern. She agrees and he is a prehistoric cavemen" and "He is all over her like the Spanish Inquisition" were a few of my favorites.
Thank you for"He has "tacto de manco" (all of the touch of a one armed man) :)" - always enjoy learning vocabulary.
I don't believe HIPPA exists in Mexico - such a shame. That said, as I think Flor is great, I don't mind in this case as Neron will be her support and encouragement. Jarifa, I had the same unpleasant aftertaste, too many shades of Sueno de Blech.
I've completely flipped in my opinion of Kika. Changing her mind is (especially) a woman's perrogative, right? She is smart, savvy and in control. While Jorge spazzed out, she handled the situation admirably. As you noted, something finally happened to get him to shut up. She is the best thing that ever happened to him.
"Mauricio adds that maybe he and Fabián can come to some kind of an agreement". Oh. Sure. Great. Feasible.
Mau seems enlightened for a nanosecond (regarding Renee and school) and then the bulb quickly diminishes (lying straight to Maria's face). Frustrating.
I'm glad I never had Vero for P.E.
Excellent job Jarifa. Thank you!
Diana
What a great line, Jarifa! So funny, and so perfect for our religious obsessive Jorge.
I hate the leukemia storyline. In my own life, I have never known anyone to recover from leukemia. They are treated, go into remission, and then eventually go out again. Although one person I know of was in remission for 20 years. Still, it is a nasty disease and the treatment is just as bad.
What really horrifies me though is that Mauricio would intentionally keep a mother from finding her child. When you think about it, that is really ugly and selfish. More so than Toño trying to deep-six Vero getting a job. Hopefully he will reconsider promptly.
Alarming storylines, but love it that our Kurvy Kika is getting to play the Guardian Angel now. Babelicious to the Rescue!
Thanks Jarifa. We have more snow in the forecast eventually but today is looking good.
JudyB, sorry to hear about the snow on the way. :( Our next snow event could be Sunday. It actually is springlike here for a couple days. ITA about Mauricio’s trying to keep María from Anifer being deplorable and probably criminal. Worse than Toño? I would say they are at the same morally depraved level . . . but not at the same “buff” level. :)
The plots move quickly here. Maybe Flor will have a miraculous recovery.
I mean, I almost see her smacking a gangly, 4-eye, nervous wreck like JornDog as Community Service. I hopeo she is keeping track of her hours. Bless her heart behind those beautiful plastic mountains. Woof
"Let's see I was on my period between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it is now Valentines day, should I fret?"
No Lil, fret was a couple months ago. NOW it is time to go shopping for Garanimals and Gerber. Um.....do you still hate Pablo for no reason? You might want to rethink that too.
Maybe the doctor got Neutron and Flor's tests mixed up.
RATS I had my heart set on Tono and Yolo getting together. So what IS Vero trying to do, just teach Tono a lesson? Or does she just not want Yolo to have him in a game of one upchickship.? I have bad news, people do not change for small reasons. Even divorce does not usually do it. It has to be something truly heartbreakin to have any lasting effect.
I understand Mau not wanting to give Anifer back. SORT OF....I was expecting Anifer to be out of school and walk out and say "Mom, aren't you DEAD?" I had also thought Mariqa could stake the place out, as she has nothing else to do or where to go, and see Anifer, but Mau's two brain cells got together and came up with a plan to leave like NOW. I like this about as much as I like Leukemia.
Susanlynn – you beat me to it with the ‘river in Egypt’ comment. Great minds . . .
Kika is the Yin to JornyJorge’s Yang, and therein lies the balance. She is just what Lili and the other kids need. Plugged into today’s world, common sense (to an extent), street smarts (opposite of JJ’s academic smarts), understands young people, compassionate . . . she and JJ have to end up together, for the sake of the kids if nothing else!
”Babelicious to the Rescue!” Good one, Judy!
Oh noes!!! Not leukemia for Flor!!! Nooooooooo! Our ex-DIL’s mother has CLL (leukemia), went through the horrors of the disease at it worst and treatment some 20+ years ago. No cure, just live with it and hope for the best. I know someone else diagnosed with CLL and because they caught it early, it is being monitored, but not treated at this stage. Seems a lot like multiple myeloma (I know too many people with that, two have died already!) in that nothing is done in early stages; treatment begins when a certain "next level" appears. Ugh. For will have treatment but it won't be pretty. I keep thinking of Ali McGraw's Jenny in "Love Story."
Veronica –“ I don’t want Toño anymore and I don’t want anyone else to have him, either.”
Kirby --- ”Do the writers know there are maybe 48 or so other states up here?” Yes, but Mauricio does not because he knows he is in a telenovela and dumber than a rock.
Actually, Baldo and Sammy too, but Jorge would probably need to put a soundproof Porta Potti out back just for Sammy.
And Baldy Chest would never button his shirt again.
It was not long ago that it was Christmas, so hopeofully it is Feb or March now as Mau decides to go hide the three of them in Maryland.
If all goes well, their plane will skid to a stop on a frozen runway with about three feet of snow and temps in single digits. They girls will probably be smart enough to refuse to even get off the plane in such an alien landscape.
Mau is despicable. Keeping mother and daughter separated, just because he would like this joy for himself. Now he made an enemy of María. Does he think he has any chance of preventing María finding her daughter? She will never give up.
From Ani's side, this is an offence much bigger than lying about her mother's death. Grounds for disowning.
From Renée's side, he is using her desire for master's as a cover for this shameful act. Is he going to Maryland because he loves her? No. This is dumpable offence.
Yes, Kirby. Point of note to Mau, Maryland in January is not like Ciudad de Mexico in January. Better pack thermal underwear and a lot of warm cloth. Right North-easterners?
So, the doctor just announces for the whole waiting room to hear that Lili is pregnant. Reminds me of "Amor bravío" and Luzma situation. Lili looked very scared, poor thing.
They might give us a PSA on open adoption if Lil allows R&R to raise her baby, but then Pablo would have to agree to it as well. Hhhmmmm.....p
I had convinced myself that your looks and the whole patio except Andy and I swooning over you really didn't bother me much, hardly ..not very...maybe only just an understandable tiny bit, but not much.
Now hiding Ani from a Mother she believes dead and leaving the country? And if Jorge helps you, I hope his ....glasses...falls off. See how Kika likes that.
to deflower her right there in the playground by the swing set.
She hasn't won me over yet.
Granny Kika? Hmmmmmm
Doris...JornyJorge's Yang....I can't even. I just cannot stand that hiding horndog.
R &R want a baby. Lily is going to have a baby that she is not prepared to care for....just saying
I never would have recognized Maria as asmatic Erica from Vino.Maury is headed in a bad direction lying to her and keeping her from her daughter. Pretty is as pretty does ..As my mother used to say .
The thing I hate most about really uptight religious conservatives is that they are so closed to other's opinions, as if speaking your mind is so outrageous it becomes a sin. Like when Jorge refused to have the pregnancy talk with Lili because he kept insisting that she's a senorita, but Kika reminded him that that's discredited because Lili ran off with Pablo and obviously spent much time with him alone. And Jorge continued to fight her, believing that just because he stubbornly says so, it isn't the case. Why so much fear in having a necessary talk with your daughter? The baby is coming either way.
Vero looked funny in her soccer mom outfit. I don't think she's over Tono or she wouldn't have cared about Yolanda's presence. She needs to learn not to take out her frustrations on the kids.
Mauricio is kidnapping Anifer. The very least he could have done was investigate Maria before formally contacting her, but he didn't even bother. This is worse than lying to Anifer about her mother's death. Rene is probably going to dump him as soon as she discovers his manipulation of the situation. He's regressing to his selfish ways again.
Since Fabian owns Logatoys, does la vecindad officially belong to him? When Noe was speaking to him about an old flame he had, he mentioned he was now moving to take back what's rightfully his. I thought he was referring to Rene's property at the very least, but perhaps he's going to evict all of the residents there too?
Maia
And guided by the same scripture, you will get a myriad of conflicting 'rules' from all these sources, based on their divinely inspired interpretations, with no room for your view on the matter.
I know, this is not the place, but this TN brought it up.
OK back to my old doggy self. I liked Maria's "I'm for sure not wearing a bra' top for international travel and to meet Mauricio. woof
Where is RGV?
Great comments! I agree that...
Mauricio is physically HAWT but no brains, selfish, and anti-sizzle in bed and romance. So, ANdy, I'm really not running around the RGV looking for him...my goats deserve better...and he may take one he likes and claim it as his son/daughter...can't take that chance!:-)
Vero is selfish too. She doesn't seem to want Tonto, but doesn't want anyone else to have him. I'm actually hoping the divorce goes through.
Lili--not too keen on her either, Kirby. She can have the baby...or not...or give up to R&R.
Flor---poor thing! I hope it's not terminal and she can have a happily ever after...even if it's with the other caveman.
Susy, "denial is not just a river in Eygpt." JudyB, "Babelicious" and Doris, "Oh noes" Good ones...writing those down!
Kirby, ""I'm for sure not wearing a bra'" I don;t want to disillusion you, but there are means of support that could be used with that top :-)
I believe I should be trying to figure her and Tono out, but it is like watching a 'La Famalia P. Luche' rerun.
without the fur.

Just
Don't
Care
Anymore.
RGV: Um...do you have one who could pass as his offspring? Just sayin'.................................
Yay, Kika saved the day for Lili. Loved her "Mr. Flintstone" crack.
I've seen TN docs give the spouse, instead of the patient, bad news so many times I didn't think twice about the doc calling Neron. Flor's been a comic gem here. Such a shame.
I'm mad a Mau too for keeping a mother away from her child. When Anifer arrived in his life, she was well-loved with good values and a resilient spirit -- all of that she got from her mom.
And forgot to thank you for "tacto de manco" Jarifa. That's a very useful expression. I can use that for speaking about certain people...ahem... in my family, believe me!
Also loved Kika's "verse linda le sube la autoestima". Or something like that anyway. However it's going to take more than a little blush to pretty up Lili. Someone needs to untie those Gorgon knots that are in her hair. A real disaster of a coiffure.
And Lord have mercy! yes, let's tell the whole waiting room that the teenager sitting there is pregnant.
Kika has really developed as everyone noted. But I would like to see her yet a little more forceful with Jorny Jorge. He is an excellent, perhaps brilliant, lawyer but otherwise he has sawdust for brains, and a strange, toxic "morality". A variant of the idiot savant.
Kika needs to run things even more than she did with poor Lili. How different things would be if Yuriria had taken charge of him, told him he was not going to marry Dulce, that he was NOT going to screw up his kids' lives, etc.
Sad, but some people do need to be told what to do, and are actually happier for it. Kika could do it, poor Yuriria wouldn't have known what a whip was, let alone how to use one.
:-)

doris, I was going to keep a list of PSA’s way back when this one had started but quickly forgot about it. Now I probably wouldnot remember them all. Overwhelming to say the leadt.
Lucio, that was embarassing for Lili. One would think the dictor would habe taken Lili and Jorge into an office to tell them. Aloso, it was like Lili was invisible since her father was there.
Maia, yes, what Mauricio is doing is kidnapping. No other way of looking at it.
Niecie, so the dr. Informing the spouse of the patient first is common in the telenovela world. Thanks for the info. Way back when in the last century pre HIPPA , I think this also happened at times in the real world.
I can totally understand a doctor being concerned with a patient’s emotional state, especially when cancer is the culprit. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer a second time, she was in her early 80s. the doctor told my sisters and I first; and together we decided not to tell my mother...she would have lost all hope and will to live. She passed away thinking she had severe indigestion. So, in that case, I do understand the doctor talking to a family member first.
Typing on my phone too...ughhh!
My mega phone seems to believe it is more fun to force me to call people and skip every other word rather than allow me to text so that it can translate my English into Correctease.
But it is still so wrong.
I am wondering how Mau is going to take Anifer out of the country. Can Pablo go along too?
Cute little Wren
Cute little wren indeed. Glad you are about shooting pictures, Kirby, and not bullets.
I don't think Mau's tiny little peabrain has truly processed what he is doing in terms of spiriting Anifer away. Thinking back to when he baldfacedly told Maria he didn't know Mau, how on earth did he think he would get away with it? Anifer would never forgive him for keeping her from her mother. He is too obtuse to realize the grave mistake he is making.

RgvChick, your mother was lucky to have daughters like you and your sisters.
Regarding looking into people's eyes, it is a cultural thing. In some cultures, it is very rude. I have to let my students understand what Americans think if you do not look them in the eyes...you are lying....or you are not listening...or you do not like them. The need for personal space is also cultural. Most Americans like to be about two feet away from other people. However, I have had students who like to be right up close and personal to me.
In regards to smiling at someone, I once tutored a wealthy RUssian woman who told me that in Russian , if a woman smiles at a stranger, he thinks that she is coming on to him?
I’m sorry that Flor was diagnosed with something serious like leukemia. In TN land, people who get leukemia don’t seem to ever live. I had thought she might have a brain tumor because of the blurred vision.
Well it appears that Rafa really wants a baby, but Rod isn’t that sure or sold on it. Well maybe Rafa needs to marry a woman instead, that way he can easily become a father if this is what is so important to him in his life.
Now that we know that Lili is pregnant, I hope she can be a good mother. I know Jorge does not want his daughter to be with Pablo, but he IS the father of Lili’s baby. They need to grow up and take responsibility. Jorge needs to let go too. This is his grandchild.
I’m curious to see where this story with Maria goes since she thinks Fabian is Mauricio.
In Eagles like in many birds, especially birds of prey, the female is slightly larger, but not enough difference in size to notice with the naked eye, even side by side.
But wait, there's more ! just pay a small handling fee...wait, no
OK the female has a distinctly larger beak than the male, a tad thicker, but substantially longer.
These two are "Junior's" Mom and Dad. The Mom is facing to our right. Look closely at the beak, how much longer it is, with the bird heads approximately the same size.
Dr. Feathers
Jarifa, agreed that Jorge is going to have to grow up and get over it! I wish though that the writers had not turned him in to such a caricature though. Nobody really acts that uptight.
Judy..i am lol at "feathers" because that was the nickname of a high school friend.
Cynthia, have you registered at thelit.forum.com ? The author of the Outlander books has replied to 4 of my comments there. Squeeeeeeee
Until the babies are about a month old they are susceptible to being taken by other raptors, Hawks and Ospreys, mainly, so they are never left alone during that time.
While one parent is gone getting food, the other stays close to or on the nest as security. Shortly after the other parent arrives with food, the guard parent leaves on a quest for food.
This goes on from shortly after dawn to right before dusk for weeks, with the interval running around 45 minutes to an hour and fifteen.
Then at some time around a month, the babies are larger than any threat bird, already, and no longer are in danger, so there will be times when both parents are gone, and the feeding intervals begin to stretch out longer also.
Because of the "Assembly Line" I consider that a prime time for photography, as I am guaranteed that one Adult will always be available for a photograph. And the best shots are of them in flight, so it is prime time to catch them leaving and arriving too.
Cynthia, I'm glad you are making progress. Hang in there, at least you're not in a TN.
:-)

Glad to know things are getting better Cynthia. We take our health for granted and then Boom! We realize how precious and fragile it is.
JudyB
Thanks Andy! The game is a lot of fun. Especially after a couple beers or glasses of wine. ;)
Kirby, I am glad I do not have a dreaded TN type disease. Thank God for such things. :)
Kirby...wow...devoted parents.
Judy....yes, "An Eagles'Guide to Parenting." Maybe some of our tn characters should get copies.
I really appreciate your capturing a rather rare sight (from what you are telling us).
Thanks so much.
Cynthia, I'll add my voice to everyone hopig you are doing much better.
