Papa a Toda Madre, Capítulo 84, Friday May 18, 2018; Ani finds out that Fabian is her biological father

We open with Maria being released from the hospital a few days later. Anifer asks about Fabian if he is being released. Mau explains that Fabian is “sleeping” and cannot come out yet.

Vero and Toño’s boss starts to explain to him about his interview and the job. At first, Toño thinks he didn’t get the job, but he did get the directorship. Toño is ecstatic, but the boss explains to Vero privately that if it weren’t for her recommendations, they would never have selected Toño for the position.

Mau and Ani bring Maria home to a “welcome home” sign complete with balloons! Mau informs Maria that the neighbors in La Privada have organized a welcome home party for her tonight with a dinner.

Jorge is trying to work with Dulce interrupts him. He tells her he found an apartment that he is going to rent. She tries to talk him into staying, but he Jorge tells her that she needs to find a job, rather than sitting around the house doing nothing! “Nothing?” says Dulce. “Hey, I want to stay home because my children are the most important thing in my life.” [Really Dulce? Ahem, what about the day you moved out to seek an exciting life with your thug criminal boyfriend, Isauro? Was that showing that your children are the most important thing in your life?]  “What?” says Jorge. “This is not the Dulce I knew. The Dulce I knew wasn’t that interested in her kids, she thought of her kids as a drag in her life because they interfered with her career.” They bicker a little and then Dulce says, “How about if we both go to the bedroom so we can talk like we used to? Do you remember that?” “No” says Jorge. “I really don’t know what you are pretending to be, nor do I know what game you are playing. But I do need you to know that I am following through with the divorce documents. And because you are the mother of my children, I didn’t include that you abandoned our home.”  Jorge walks away, but he wants nothing to do with her. Then he walks into the bathroom to work and closes the door to Dulce.

At the hospital, Renée is in the ICU with Fabian just talking to him. But then his eyes start to open so she fetches the doctor.

At Mau’s house, he and Maria discuss whether or not she should make a police report for his actions. But Maria decides not to. Then she apologizes for her behavior previous to the accident, but Mau forgives her. Maria says, “Well, I was going to leave, but I’d better stay around for a while because my health is more important.” Mau smiles and says, “Well, whatever you want to do, if you want to protest and do marches against the government, you are in the right city to do so!” Maria laughs and thanks him for his support. Mau does add that if there was any way that he could give his heart to her, he would. Maria says, “I know, but you can’t, right?” Mau shakes his head and says, “That’s true, I can’t.”

At the hospital, the doctor examines Fabian and shines the light in his eyes. Renée asks, “Is he conscious, Doctor?” “Yes, but not 100%,” the doctor replies. “He still has brain inflammation and that is why he wakes up and goes back to sleep. He needs more time to recover. The next few hours will tell if he lives or dies.”

Looks like lovemaking has occurred behind locked doors on the floor in Vero’s office at work. They discuss how they will continue to handle their relationship at work so no one will find out they are really husband and wife. Toño suggests that they say they fell in love at work and got married. Vero says, “That will not fly around here because we would have to say we left our respective spouses for each other and they sure wouldn’t like that!” Toño says, “Well I guess we will have to play like we are just lovers.”

Renée visits Mau and Maria to update them on Fabian’s condition. Ani asks, “Is he going to die?” Mau says, “Truthfully, when someone is so bad off as he is, that is a possibility.” Ani hopes he feels better soon. She also wants to know if Renée was angry with Fabian and if she has forgiven him. Renée says, “I hadn’t thought about it yet, but yes, I do forgive him.” Mau adds, “We all need to think about forgiving him, no matter what he has done.”  Renée gets up and says she needs to leave, so Mau walks her to the door.

As Mau walks back to the living room Mau says, “Ani, there is something that your mother and I need to tell you.” Maria looks at Ani and says, “We need you to know that your biological father is Fabian.”

At a coffee shop, Renée reads a letter to Ariel that Noel wrote after his wife died when she gave birth to Fabian. The letter is blaming Fabian for his wife’s death. Ariel says, “Poor man.”  Renée says, “You mean Noel or Fabian?” “Both” says Ariel. “For Noel, because he did not accept his wife’s death. And for Fabian because he was blamed for it.” Renée says, “You know what? I remember during vacations when my mother would take me to Logatoys and I’d see Mauricio and Fabian running around having fun. I never would have imagined that Fabian was having such a sad childhood.” Ariel adds, “And if Noel treated Fabian that way the whole time, then that would have made him bitter for his entire life.” Renée says, “In cases like this, it’s probably better than you never know your father.”  Ariel says, “No, I don’t believe so. Although I can understand why you feel that way, in this case, I just don’t agree with you.” Renée just sighs and says, “Who knows?”

Back over at Mau’s place, Anifer says, “I don’t understand.” She looks at Mau and then says, “You are my father, right?” Mau say, “Yes, I’ll always be your dad, but in my heart. Do you remember one time I told you there are two types of fathers? Let me tell you the story of the gardeners. There was a someone who planted a seed in a garden and then he left. The seed grew into a plant and another gardener came along. This gardener took care of the plant and watered and fed it. He loved the plant and took good care of it.” He looks at Ani and asks, “Now who is the plant?” Ani says, “I am. So you are saying that Fabian is the one who planted the seed and you are the gardener.” “Exactly” says Mau. “You understand better than the adults do!” Then Ani asks, “Then why were you angry with him?”

At “La Cachetona”, Flor and Nerón talk about Pablo’s plight with trying to find his father. Flor does not want him going back to the U.S. without papers because he will just get deported. She thinks he should stay around there and use the internet to investigate what happened to his father and try to find him on Facebook. [I am wondering why Pablo didn’t take one look at Doña Melina and wonder why she might look like his father’s twin sister. Certainly she couldn’t have had that much plastic surgery!]
After Mau finishes telling Ani the truth, Maria takes her to her room. Mau is worried about how this will affect Ani and wonders if he did the right thing. Maria says, “if the accident hadn’t happened, we probably would not have told her. Like Renée said, we need to be prepared for whatever happens.” Mau agrees.

At Jorge’s house, Dulce, [looking a lot like Betty Crocker] comes out of the kitchen with something she prepared for dinner. Jorge is not interested in her dinner. Dulce goes on to say, “Oh I was checking out the internet and I found out that Kika is a millionaire. And she could never make a good mother for our children.” [Ha! And you think you should be given the Harriet Nelson, Mother of the Year Award?] Jorge says, “You couldn’t be more wrong. My tastes in women have changed and I now like a woman who has changed a lot. I couldn’t be more happy than I am now.” Dulce says, “Don’t tell me you are with her for her money?” [Proves she does not know Jorge very well at all!] “No” says Jorge. “She has even offered to help me with money and each time I have refused. In fact, I am working too as a chauffeur for Transport City to make ends meet instead of accepting her help.” Dulce says, “You mean as a taxi driver?” Jorge responds, “Yes, so I can pay the bills around here. It’s honest and dignified work. Look I have to go meet with Mauricio. I don’t want to discuss this with you anymore.” She asks him if he is going to stay and eat whatever it was she prepared, but Jorge says, “Eat it yourself. Oh by the way, there is going to be a dinner later tonight in the Privada. I would appreciate it if you would not attend.”

Renée and Ariel continue to talk and she asks him about his own father. Ariel says his relationship with his father has been challenging and his father was the type who made other families. [Sounds like an uncle of mine ;)] He supported his children, but was not the affectionate type. Still Ariel says it’s better than a lot of other fathers who abandon their children. He goes on to say that it’s important to have that paternal connection, even if it isn’t perfect. He goes on, “At least I knew that the man who came and went at my house was my father.”

Jorge meets with Mau and Mau asks him about the licenses. Jorge says something about talking with the Chinese and then he breaks out in laughter. But then he gets serious again after some laughter that is so unlike him. Mau makes the suggestion about using the Logatoys manufacturing plant. Then Jorge asks, “So who is in charge of Logatoys right now anyway?” Mau says, “I don’t know. It seems that Falcon has dropped off the face of the earth.”

Maria goes to check on Ani in her room and it seems that she has drawn a picture of herself with her two fathers, Fabian and Mauricio. Now Ani wants to know more about what happened with Maria and Fabian and why she told her father’s name was Mauricio and not Fabian. Maria says, “I’m just not sure how to explain all of that. But to start off with, Fabian DOES know that you are his daughter.” This make Ani happy and she says, “alright!”

Outside, Renée and Ariel are saying goodbye, but Renée invites him the celebration dinner later at the Privada. While they are talking, she gets a call from the hospital informing her that Fabian has actually woken up from his coma.

Lili and Pablo talk about the fact that being together is the most important thing right now. Lili says she just wants to prepare things so that everything will be ready when the baby comes. Baldo passes by and greets them as he passes. He is not in a good mood and Lili explains why with the Dulce situation. She says it makes everyone uncomfortable now that she has returned.

Mauricio goes to Logatoys to find who is running the place, so he talks with Gladys. Gladys says that “No one is running the place. The employees come to work, but they don’t do anything. And who knows what happened to Falcon.” Mau suggests they get a lawyer to find out what to do in this case. But Gladys is like, “A lawyer! Do you have any idea how much that will costs?” And she goes off into her theatrics.

Later at the Privada, the celebration starts. Maria addresses the group and thanks everyone for coming, even though they do not know her well. Vero pipes up and says, “Yes, but you are Ani’s mother and that means a lot because we love Ani.” Others say pretty much the same and give love and encouragement to Maria. She offers a toast to their Cooperative and everyone raises their glasses.

Unfortunately, Dulce makes her unwanted appearance to crash this party! “Well, well, well, it looks like I wasn’t invited to his party.” She sits down next Jorge who does not even want to acknowledge her existence. Nerón is not too thrilled to see her either.

Renée is at the hospital with Fabian, but she notices he seems to be moving and waking so she get the doctor to come back in. He starts to vocalize and attempt speak. Renée comes and says, “Fabian, do you know who I am?” Fabian, in a labored sounding voice says, “My sister.” Renée turns around, hardly believing what she heard as this is the first time he has acknowledged this.

Back at the party at the Privada, Dulce attempts to make conversation telling everyone she is here for a second chance. Flor decides to take the conversation and say, “I’m all for second chances. I got one with the cancer and now I have a second chance at life and to see my baby grow up.” She turns her attention to Rod and Rafa and says, “Who are you two? Are you roomies, cousins or what?” Mau explains that they are married and Dulce is either thrilled or amused.

Later, Mau looks at Ani and notices she a little bit serious. He tells her he understands since her mother had been in an accident and she just found out that Fabian is her biological father. She looks at Mau and says, “But I love you like you are my only father.” Mau says, “Yes, you are my favorite daughter and I am thrilled to be your father. But, your other father, well, he does count too.” Mau asks her to just tell him what she is feeling because he wants to listen to her. But then she surprises him and asks, “Do you think you could take me to see Fabian?” Mau explains that children aren’t allowed to visit at the hospital. “I know, I know, my mother and Renée already explained to me. But it sure is sad that besides Renée, no one is there to visit him.” Mau says, “Look, I can’t promise you anything about this.”

At the hospital, Renée gives Fabian a sip of water and tells him she is very happy that he woke up. Fabian begins to say something. “My father….” Renée tries to get him to explain. “Where is he? Did he escape?” But soon the doctor comes in and tells Renée he should not be trying so hard to talk and to let him rest. So Renée steps aside.

Kika is making a video to her fans holding up a book about Romeo and Juliet. She talks about true love and what it means. She wants her fans to know that true love is worth waiting for and even fighting for. She also explains that you know you have true love when you miss that person with all your heart and soul and want to spend every minute with that person. She gets emotional and tells her fans when they find that kind of love, to fight for it and never let it go.

Later that evening, Renée walks with Ariel outside the Privada and thanks him for coming with her to the hospital. She tells him she enjoys his company. But whoa, his next words are, “Really? You enjoy being with me?” [Ariel, you are getting too rambunctious again. She didn’t mean it that way. She’s not chomping at the bit to date you.] But she is saved by “the belle” Kika comes walking in to the Privada to distract from the conversation. Kika says, “So what is going on here?” Renée explains, “Well it is a party to celebrate that Maria is out of the hospital and safe and sound.” Kika lights up and says, “Well, I guess this is a good time to announce that my Georgie-boy and I are officially together.” Gleaming, she struts off to the party.

Kika greets everyone at the party and makes her way over to Jorge, who is a bit uncomfortable with the whole scene there as Dulce the witch is doing nothing but throwing ice water on Jorge’s happiness. She stops and kisses Jorge and gets him to stand up and make the announcement about their relationship! (All this as witch Dulce looks on, but Valentina give her approving nod of happiness). Of course Dulce gets mad and waves her wedding ring in Kika’s face. So Kika excuses herself and starts to leave. Toño grabs Jorge and pushes him out and says, “Go after her.” About the same time, Renée and Ariel walk into the scene to gently distract from the scene that Dulce is creating.

Jorge goes after Kika and tries to explain that Dulce was not invited to this party and he didn’t want her there. He further explains that he has found an apartment so he can move into it with his children and get away from Dulce. Kika gets a bit serious and tells him, “Truthfully, I’m not going to be one of those women who pressures a man into doing something. But I want to make clear that I hope you don’t go back to Dulce and sacrifice your happiness under the pretext of family unity. I just don’t want you to be fooled into going back to a situation that is already been torn apart.” He assures her that he is not and wants to move to an apartment as soon as possible. She kisses him and gracefully exits like a classy woman.

Back at the party, Mau tries to make peace with Ariel by saying that any and all of Renée’s friends are welcome. Ariel says, “I just want get to know those who are close to Renée, and I really don’t care what you call me.” Renée returns with their taco plates and breaks up the conversation.

Inside the Barrientos home, the children obediently go upstairs to prepare for bed. Vero make a comment about how well behaved they are and it must because of their grandmother. But Esperanza says she isn’t doing anything different than what she did with her own children. Toño says he would rather have his children be with her than be with someone who is a stranger. Esperanza nods, but looks somewhat wistful, as though she is thinking that she would love to do something else, rather than watch kids.

Jorge has the family together inside and announces that the best thing for them to do now is to move to a different house. Lili says she will move in with Pablo—but Jorge tells her she must remain in their home until she is 18. And then and only then when Pablo can provide a decent place for them to live. Baldo says he wants to move out, but again, Jorge states that he cannot leave until he is 18 years old. Valentina is happy and is all for going to live with her dad, but Sam is acting like a 5 year old and is in an “I want my mommy” frame of mind.

Maria and Mau talk about why in the world Ani would want to see Fabian. Mau thinks it’s normal. He tells Maria that if they prohibit her from seeing him, she will just insist more.

Ariel and Renée are saying goodbye at her house. She tells him that Rafa and Rod go to bed early so he needs to go. Then he gives her a very awkward kiss in which Renée does not respond. He apologizes but he says at least it was a happy mistake. They say their good nights to each other and Renée wonders what to do.

Thanks, Cynthia, your recap is excellent. “Betty Crocker” : perfect description which leads me to . . .

One mistake after another that could come back to bite the “good guys” . . . Why are they always so naïve? (Novela after novela)

Jorge made a big mistake allowing Dulce to be in the house trying to insinuate her way back into the family. He should have offered to put her up in a hotel or a small apartment until the divorce is final. If he is smart, he will kick her out after her crashing the privada get together.

Another mistake: María not filing charges against Fabián whether he be in a coma or not. No charges= no record of his criminal acts.

One could feel Verónica’s heartbreak watching Toño celebrating but being told he would never had gotten the position without her recommendation and not to tell him. They really did a good job with that scene.

What a surprise that Fabián recognized Renée as his sister.

Renée might be right that it might be better never to know your father considering some of them portrayed here.

Cynthia: I see Maury Povich has revealed another Baby Daddy plot with Fabian being the Baby Daddy of Anifer.

Yeah Steve we were all SHOCKED, SHOCKED
three months ago.
Thank You Cynthia. Thank you for filling in the many blanks.

Jarifa, yes yes, yes. Kick her duck lips ass out of there into some apartment about like she is accustomed to. Maybe the one she shared with Isuzu is still available. It appeared to be within walking distance. Change the locks, he already has a wifi security camera, and get a restraining order.

Dulce is staying on message. Hair, makeup, and outfits are perfect. About the only thing she hasn't done is serve Jorge a meal in her swimsuit,

Bottom.

And another three yesses on Maria. So you wreck yourself and another person in the commission of a kidnapping, and are forgiven because it went badly for you? Horse Hockey Pucks. TNs drive me cray cray with forgiveness. So you blow your hands off trying to put a stick of dynomite under a school bus and now we feel sorry for you and you are forgiven? Not in KirboLand. Did Fabian read what I wrote about the E Chair yesterday?

Isn't Renee a little old for Muriel? He looks to be just a kid. She has been working on her Masters, what, going on twenty years now? She must be pushing forty. :-)
Hmmm one minute a heavy leather jacket, then cold shoulders with Ariel in an outdoor cafe'. Renee must be going through the change already.

Maria came out looking pretty good after we saw her last.
I expected the side of her face to have a line of industrial grade staples resembling a horribly misplaced C- section closure. Instead she has that neck thing which appears to be a slimmed down clinical version of the one Mauricio was wearing.

Kirby, we are on the same wavelength today.

I also don’t know why they just had to tell Anifer that Fabián was her father. With any luck, he might still die and she could be spared any anguish until she is older. If he lives, maybe she could be safer not knowing he is her father and therefore might be more apt to keep away from him if he were labeled as stranger danger. If she keeps asking about him, they could change the subject and actually not cave to her wishes. Novel thought for Marįa or Mauricio to really act like a parent? They keep treating her as an adult when she is a CHILD.

Jarifa: We're at Ultimos Capitulos yet ?

Steve. Yes. The replacement show starts around the 11th of next month

Good Day Patio Pals!

Cynthia, great recap with matching screenshots, thank you!

Jarifa, "Jorge made a big mistake allowing Dulce to be in the house trying to insinuate her way back into the family." Very true, but how do you kick out someone who so aggravatingly gives new meaning to "life goes on" and has one of her children ecstaticly happy that life is back to "normal." I think Jorge is allowing her to stay only because of Sammy and because legally the house is half hers still. IMO he made a wise decision in being the one to move out of a house that is full of bad memories. I do, however, totally agree with the other big mistake regarding Maria not filing charges. What is it with these people that avoid going to the cops. That laptop is now legally in Renee's hands since it was given to her as next of Fabian's kin.

Kirby, in response to your comment for teh episode befire this one,, Noel was the one who caused the fire at Logatoys way back when. Fabian has known about all along though. And talking about Fabian, did the ghosts of TNs past visit him while he was in a coma? Now the first thing that comes out of his mouth when he wakes up is "sister?" Puuleeease!

I can't believe Vero and Tono. They act like teenagers...at the office!! Isn't this company supposed to be very conservative and strict?? Yet Vero and Tono seem to have plenty of time for their trysts.

Kirby, "Isn't Renee a little old for Muriel? He looks to be just a kid." Yup, he does look like a kid...and that kiss was certainly no accident, at least not on his part.

Thank You RGV. So it was actually Noel who indirectly, killed Mama Mau. OK. But Fab has known about it for-friggin-ever.

The Rabbit Couple: (V&T)
I've always had keys to all the offices and access to all the computers in my department(s) I mean, the building and equipment is still owned by the company, "Your Office" being a reference designation mostly.

I hold my breath every time expecting Bustinatthewrongtime to walk right in on something which ordinarily only takes two people. THAT would take some 'splainin'.

I don't read lips in Spanish very well, but when Fabian saw Renee i swore he said 'Mother... something'.

Sorry, RgvChick, but I have to disagree . : ( Dulce was the one who abandoned her children which supersedes anything else in my mind. I am sure there could be some legal remedy to keep her out just because of that and that a divorce was in process. As for Samuel, they could “visit” rather than give him false hopes of a reunion between Jorge and Dulce. For an attorney, one would think that Jorge would have a better understanding of the legalities or at least brains enough to consult somebody in family law. If he wants to move to a new house, it should be on his schedule. By the time he processes or thinks about things, his whole house could be down around him. He is maddening beyond his set phrases. Kika should run away while she can. As you can tell I am annoyed by most of the characters. As in most novelas, “good guys” move like molasses and the “bad guys” are quick as ever in their decision making and taking action. As you might guess, I am so ready for this to be done. I still like Flor and Kika. As for the rest of them . . .

I do agree about the reticence of telenovela “good guys” never really wanting to involve the police. They usually just end up putting them and theirs in dangerous situations due to this predictable lack of action.

Yes, Vero and Toño sure have plenty of time for extracurricular activities in the office. How long will that last?

Pure and simple: Ariel is hot to trot.

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia, and the snark. I hope you are continuing to recover and feel better each day!

Oy, watched the royal wedding, followed by recording of this episode. I'm fairytaled out for the day!

When Ani was told Fab is her bio-dad, I was hoping she would deliver the ubiquitous telenovela line --- “No puede ser!”

OTH, Jorge busting a gut laughing was my “no puede ser” moment.

Mau did a good job of explaining the bio-dad vs dad of the heart to a little kid.

Can someone please throw Dulce under a train? Porfis? Stay strong, Jorge! Ditch the bi-- … witch! How much more of this !@#$ will we have to endure?

"Now that Fab called Renee “sister”, is this a sign that he surely will die?"
This might be a sign that he surely will die. Last minute redemption (barf!) and all that.

Same wavelength. I have been trying to figure out all along which two little brain cells in Jorge's PW'd mind got together and decided to MOVE OUT? QUE?

"Listen, I'm leaving, I hate you, you suck in bed, you are boring, tell my kids to forget my name, I'm banging a drug smuggler and am Outta Here."

FF FF FF FF FF FF FF>> >>

" Hi Honey I'm home, Miss me?" "Wait, What?" "You're moving out and giving me the house as a welcome back present?"

" is this a sign that he surely will die?" First positive thing out of Fab.

These TN people should sit down and get the basic story down on paper or electronic means before they ever actually start the TN. As it is they seem to just get a general concept, enough to come up with a title of the show, then write as they go, taking story lines from what they saw over the weekend at the Drive-in.

Cynthia, thank you for a great recap! But she is saved by “the belle”... had me laughing.

I have been busy today watching the royal wedding, continuously looping on the DVR, all the while alternately maintaining a stiff upper lip and then crying with happiness. Both of which made it difficult to have my tea and scones.

OK, not really, but I did see some pictures and she did make a beautiful bride in a beautiful dress. But poor prince Harry better watch out. He might just sometime find himself in Guatemala with Meghan and María protesting the rapaciousness of American fruit companies, and wouldn't that upset grandmum?

Still, very nice, very pretty, and a real change from our daily dose of bad news.

At this point in time I don't know what to make of Vero and Toño anymore. I have always liked Toño, despite his many flaws, but just wearing a pink jacket to a job interview was enough to make me think "Next candidate, please!"

And how long can the two keep up pretenses in the office?

Have we seen the last of Pablo's papá-mamá? That doesn't seem right. Why develop such a story to just leave us wondering what really happened to Melchor? I suppose we could believe that Melina arranged to have Pablo deported so Pablo would not be disillusioned and disappointed with his father and so he would have a better life in Mexico, but that still leaves a lot unanswered, at least to me.

Sheesh! I'm gonna go look at some wedding pictures and cheer up.

andy

I agree about Pablo's searching for his father in the US storyline not being wrapped up. But I guess its a realistic ending given the amount of people that disappear without a trace. I know a family who lost the father figure in a border crossing. The friend that he was traveling with made it in the US, and all he could say about the father was that he got really hurt prior to the crossing. Everyone assumes he died in the desert, and five years later they still don't know for certain what happened to him. No body was ever found.

I've never understood why no one files charges in novelas. If they think they're doing Anifer a favor by not locking up Fabian, they're dead wrong. Or if they think Fabian is going to stop persecuting them because they did him a favor, they're dead wrong too. First thing I would have done is file charges. He could have killed Maria.

I'm much more interested in Jorge's storyline than Renee or Mauricio or Ariel. I think Kirby is right and the writers just pick a premise and go along making stuff up. But anyway, even with the abandonment issue in place, Dulce is protected by the law. She probably returned home just in time before the period of abandoment would have been officially declared. Maybe its a year? It takes a while to divorce someone under the abandonment issue. And since Dulce came back, the divorce isn't proceeding under abandonment anymore so she now has the right to keep the house under standard divorce proceedings. Of course Jorge can provide the full details of Dulce's bad parenting, but that would prolong divorce, and possibly involve Sammy and Valentina into testifying. Do yo know how many parents refuse to bring their kids into legal matters and therefore choose to do the proceedings as simple as possible? There's also the issue that Jorge doesn't want to hurt Sammy by slandering Dulce's name. Dulce of course is selfish to not care whether she damages Jorge's image for her kids. Jorge's dilemma is that he's thinking of his children first. Honestly divorce should just be automatically granted when one spouse petitions it. Why the heck should the spouse that doesn't understand that the relationship ended have the power to keep the other tied down?

Btw if anyone wants to see fluffy baby hawks, Palemale the redtailed hawk currently has two in his NYC nest.

Maia

"And how long can the two keep up pretenses in the office?". That is one of the big lies that are yet to be revealed.

The other is Kika funding Jorge's job. That one won't be pretty. 😳

Thank you, Cynthia . I hope that you are feeling better every day.

Andy, I hope that you did not get your scones soggy with your happy tears. I watched while doing chores.

I agree that Ariel must have fallen in love at first sight with Renee. He is like a lovesick puppy. Woof.

Why is Maury always wrapped up in that scarf? Chilly or a fashion statement?

Another rainy , dismal day here. Is this what it is like living in Scotland?

Andy, I was up very early to watch the wedding live. It was so nice to see some happy news for once!

Cynthia, you never fail to bring out the best and the worst with humor and insight. Well done again.

"she goes off into her theatrics", "you are getting too rambunctious again" and "She kisses him and gracefully exits like a classy woman" were amont many favorites.

"Valentina give her approving nod of happiness" was my favorite moment. I liked that everyone greeted Kika warmly and with genuine affection. Except Jorge who was mopimg like a child.

"One could feel Verónica’s heartbreak watching Toño celebrating but being told he would never had gotten the position without her recommendation and not to tell him". Totally agree that really tugged at the heartstrings Jarifa.

I'm sure Jorge didn't realize Dulce was going to reclaim her "place" with such firmness and utter denial. Glad he is moving out and taking the children with him. I can't be and am not upset with Samuel. He harbors no malice, no anger and no resentment. His mother is home and that is all he cares about. And wants. But that is the problem. Children do not always know what is best for them. That is why parents exist. Jorge must take Samuel with him. Jorge cannot take a chance Dulce might not take off on another whim. While that would be delightful for him (and for us), a child is a responsibility and a privilige that Dulce did not and does not deserve. Pure and simple.

God knows what she is going to pull off next Kirby.

Throw Dulce under a bus or off a train. With you doris!

Kika must really be smitten.

OK, Jarifa and Andy, what did you think of the wedding dress? I heard it was something around $125,000. It was nice but there was nary any bling in sight. She could have bought it at Kleinfelds's for 10,000. Seriously though I just saw the highlights - they seem happy and very much in love. I was sorry to have missed it...

Thank you Cynthia! Diana

Diana: The bride's dress was nice, straight, and simple. Meghan looked very good in it. The only thing very special was the veil and very long train.

If there had been any chance that she would change her mind at the last minute she should have worn a dress with much fuller skirts and a flouncy petticoat. This looks so much more feminine when the bride gathers up her skirts and runs out of the church. See: Renée's wedding to suitor #1, and various other runaway bride shots.

We'll see what Jarifa has to say.

ChicaKikaBoomBoom is definitely smitten. But there may be problems ahead once Jorge finds out his sinecure is courtesy of her.

Baldo is feeling left out of the mating game; I want to see where they go with this. Only a few weeks left.

In fact, I think there are a lot of strange loose threads left to tie up. Hopefully.

Rgv Chickie, be careful. You probably heard about the cougar attack in Washington state.

I loved the royal wedding dress because it was simple and elegant. ( Quite the opposite of Amy's in BBT, but I digress... ) Meghan is so pretty that the dress did not distract or compete with her natural beauty. Her face, that tiara, and the veil were where the focus was directed. This is her second marriage, too, so I'm guessing if she wore a blinged-out dress, there might have been more criticism. Besides, I don't think bling is her style.

I loved every bit of the music at the wedding, too. I wonder if the soundtrack will be on CD..... Lovedmthe socks worn by the cello player! Fab, take note.

Diana - LOL over $10k at Kleinfeld's. Even that price makes me choke.

Diana, Andy, doris, I loved the dress and that it was all silk. (I have a thing for natural fabrics) It must have felt wonderful. It sure looked elegant. I wish we could have seen a photo somewhere of the actual flower embroidery representing the commonwealths on the veil. Then that diamond and platinum tiara . . . Wow! The Queen was great as usual in her bright apple green as well as Markle’s Mother in her minty green. Both in green . . . that was interesting. I loved seeing all of the fashion and hats on parade. What fun !

What about those little page boys arriving with Meghan Markle and the flower girls? They were the cutest things ever.

Diana, great comment about Samuel and children not always not knowing what is best for them and that is what parents are for. Somebody should tell that to María and Mauricio, too. : )

Jarifa, the moment that touched me the most was in the carriage ride after, Meaghan touched her hand to her heart. The emotion must have been overshelming. The children seemed so sweet - I agree!

Meghan is a beautiful woman and she was the crown jewel. I have to say though doris and Jarifa, the tiara was amazing! She wore that dress it didn't wear her. Beautiful.

When the replay showed Meghan's mother in tears during the ceremony, mine misted as well.

So sorry I missed the singing and the cellist!

I was obsessed with Gayle King's beautful green hat she wore in the wrap up. I am old enough that when I was young, Easter bonnets were mandatory so I sort of have an affinity for hats.

Yes "See: Renée's wedding to suitor #1, and various other runaway bride shots.
:-)". You always make me laugh Andy thank you.

Happy Sunday all!

Kirby! I was wondering where you were, thought maybe you were busy watching reruns of the royal wedding.
:-)

Actually, that's what I was doing today as I didn't spend all that much time on it before. The Times had some great pictures and a clip. They even had some fun captioning some of the photos, such as the one of an arriving guest couple which read "Amal Clooney and her date". Her date being her husband, George Clooney.

Anyway, a lot of fun, but over now. So now it's back to reality, sort of. I had trouble sleeping last night. I was afraid that Esmeralda Pimentel was going to rappel down from the roof, crash through my window, and proceed to beat me up. A bit different than my usual Esmeralda daydreams.
:-p

When you pray for rain, be sure and mention your preferred delivery schedule.

When you have been begging for a year, that does not mean you want it all next week.

Andy, Thanks for asking,I completely missed the wedding. Strange as it sounds I have very little interest in watching complete strangers get married. I'll have to get out the book, but I suspect they missed mine too. :-)

Oh I take it you have been seeing the ' Esmeralda Show' previews too. I admit I am not feeling nearly as woofy seeing her in Beat yore Ass mode as in her Take me I'm yours mode. Are the Doe eyes just an act? Drat ! I'm falling out of lust.

But any show where there is fast movement, (humans or machines), things being broken, and bad people getting beat up is a winner with me. Shooting guns would be a bonus, too. If I want to sit around for an hour and watch people talking, I'll just go down to the Spanish Laundromat.

:-)

Happy Sunday, all. No rain and some sun 🌞and warmth today, so Hub and I were able to do some work in the backyard.

I enjoyed watching the royal wedding yesterday. So nice to have some happiness and positivity .

Have a great week . Tomorrow it is back to the alarm ringing at 5.30,am.

Thanks, Cynthia. Great job.

All the buildup about Pablo's dad and then they just drop it? Unbelievable.

Don't like Dulce, but she is playing her game well.

Good Monday Morning! Woke up to the sound of thunder very early this morning...and we got some rain in the RGV...YAY!!

Stopped by the reread the comments...quite interesting.

Diana, I agree that the $125,000 dress could have been bought for much less. My first thought was, "Did they only give her the lining? Where's the rest of the dress!" After getting used to it, I did think Meghan looked quite beautiful. The choir and cellist were what I enjoyed the best...and of course looking at all the hats!

Onward with the torment of having to watch Dulce and whatever other surprises they might have for us.

Have a good day!!

" got some rain in the RGV...YAY!!"
You should see what it is doing in the Sunshine state, Going on two weeks now of rain.
But not those frog drowners like we usually have, just slow steady light rain which soaks in....on and on and on and on......................

It awoke a squadron of subterranean moles, who, I believe, moonlight part time for the phone company.

We have had many days of rainy, dreary weather, but today was bright, clear, warm, and sunny. It really lifts your spirits when the weather is nice.

Jorge never should have left Dulce into the house. He will have to leave because she is going to dig herself in. #barnacle

yep human barnacle

It amazes me these TN Einsteins.

There is a knock on the door and it is Jeffrey Dahmer and his GF Lorena Bobbitt and these numbskulls welcome them in and offer them a glass of blood. Rather than slamming the door on their noses and starting stacking furniture against the door and loading the guns with hollowpoints.

Susy there is nothing to do outside here when your whole existence revolves around good weather. I got out the Rug Doctor thing and put on the furniture attachment and shampooed the upholstery in the cabin in the boat.
Yippee !

Kirby..you are very domestic. You don't he quite tidy. We have only been on a boat a few times and have never vacuumed a rug.

I hope by we get some progress to the story tonight. There are so many loose threads.

I hope that the next show is a good one.

Thanks. I like things clean. Even things which are destined to be dirty by nature. Boats are notoriously hard to keep clean (spotless) with the saltwater, and sand and suntan lotion. And climbing all over them with dirty feet and snacking etc. You normally would not dream of walking around on your car seats, but it is normal procedure to get on and off a boat. The same thing with the foredeck, the big shiny expanse of white fiberglass in front of the windshield, corresponding to the hood of a car. You walk all over it or lay out on it to catch some rays.

Are we all moving as a unit to the Esmeralda Show?
