Cut Scenes in Blue
At the orphanage, the director explains to R&R that
they didn’t get to see the younger children the night before because they were
being prepared to go to bed, but today, they will meet the babies and the
children under 5 years of age. When Rafa gets shivers just thinking of the past
these children have had, the director suggests that they concentrate on
selecting which boy or girl they would like to have as their child. As soon as
they walk into the room, Manolita, a five-year-old, runs to them and introduces
herself. When she tells them that though she is very big, she would like to
have a family, R&R are quite touched.
At the hospital, Renée and Mauricio enter to see Fabián.
After Mauricio congratulates him and Renée calls Mau’s attention to the
inappropriateness, Fabián tells them that he knows perfectly well about his
condition. Renée responds that the important thing is that he is still there
and that he needs to be open to whatever may come…maybe in time, things will
improve with healing and alternative therapies. Fabián, however, thinks that he
may as well accept it…considering alternatives will not help him. Mauricio
encourages him by telling him that once he is home, he will feel better…and
between that and the factory, things will get better. When Fabián tells Mau
that everything is ready to transfer Logatoys back to him, Mauricio tells him
it isn’t necessary, but Fabián insists that Mr. García will be contacting
him…the factory is all Mauricio’s.
At Vero’s house, Vero and Toño review their
budget and bills. When Vero warns that, though they aren’t too bad off, they
should be careful with their spending, especially the credit cards, Toño
reminds her that they still have their severance pay…though it’s still pending.
Vero agrees, but thinks that they still need to consider how they will invest
the money; so Toño suggests that they invest in the Cooperative since it would
be like investing in themselves. Vero agrees again, but suggests that they not
put all their eggs in the same basket. As she explains that they could set up
their own business, Esperanza enters and comments that it is a good idea. They
could start with something that doesn’t require a lot of money and that someone
they trust could help manage it. After Toño quickly thanks her and brushes her
off, Esperanza is left looking insulted and walks away. (Espy, you reap what
you sow. Aren't you proud?) Toño then suggests that he should be the one to
handle the money, but Vero thinks that things work out much better when they
work as a team. Toño asks her to trust him; so Vero assures him that she does
trust him, but not with all the money. They end up arguing and accusing each other
of not trusting each other. (How downright silly, after what we saw at your
last jobs.)
Sammy and Baldo are at school sitting together
as Sammy wonders if Baldo is really going back to Tijuana. After Baldo
confirms, Sammy remarks that, at first, he really didn’t like Baldo, but now he
likes him a little bit better and is going to miss him (Like getting used to a
toothache?). When Sammy asks him
not to leave, Baldo confides that he really doesn’t want to go, but Sammy’s
mother can’t stand him or his sister; she probably hates them. Sammy doesn’t
believe his mother could hate them and wonders why Baldo thinks that; so Baldo
explains that it is obvious that it’s because they are Yuriria’s children. In
the end, their parent’s problems affected him and Lili…and whether they like it
or not, it also affected Sammy and Val. Meanwhile, Val is sitting by herself at
a distance as she sends Kika a text message asking if Kika is angry with
her…Val has sent thousands of messages and Kika hasn’t responded. Kika finally
responds, but only asks Val to view her most recent tutorial before she posts
it and sends her the link. Val immediately views the tutorial in which Kika
gives her message: Hello, my people.
Today’s topic is ‘detachment.’ You have surely heard that there are things that
should be let go. It could be a love, a friend, someone you know…and even a
relative. Even though it hurts, we must all learn what it is to let go. This
farewell sometimes affects third parties, others that we loved very much
(sniff, sniff), but are related to someone to whom we must say good-bye; and
regardless of how much we will miss them, all we have left is to wish them good
luck and much light in their path. Val then realizes she will never see
Kika again. (Dammit, Kika, even my chickens are crying.)
At the hospital, Mauricio, Anifer, Renée and María are
with Fabián. Renée tells Fabián that Anifer has been asking about him since the
day before and that she didn’t want to leave the hospital until they convinced
her that she could come see him the next day. When Mauricio mentions that
Anifer needs to leave because she has to go to school, Anifer wants to stay
longer, but Fabián tells her Mauricio is right. He then adds that when he is at
his home, she can go visit him in the afternoons so that she won’t miss any
school. Anifer agrees to leave and hopes that he will leave the hospital soon
so that she can go see him. After Anifer kisses Fabián good-bye, María asks to
speak to Fabián alone. Once alone, María reminds Fabián that they came to an agreement
as to how he would handle things with Anifer after his operation and hopes that
he hasn’t forgotten. Meanwhile, in the lobby, Renée tells Anifer not to worry;
Renée will stay there with Fabián and will let them know if anything happens. (Is
all this new attention to Fabián because if he dies, no one wants to miss it ???)
After Mau adds that Anifer has nothing to worry about because Fabián has the
best doctor and the best Renée, the nurse approaches and asks Renée is she
wants a bed set up in Fabián’s room so that she…or her husband (as she looks at
Mauricio) can spend the night; so Renée tells her that no one will be spending
the night. After the nurse leaves, Anifer comments that it was really nice when
they were a family; so Mau explains how ‘life happens’…Anifer’s mother arrived,
then Ariel arrived, and things changed. Anifer, however, persists and remarks
that they would have a lot of fun; so Renée points out how Anifer’s family has
grown. Anifer then adds that they are now all friends, but when she asks if
Fabián is also their friend…and her mother…and Ariel, Mauricio exaggeratedly
agrees that he is such a gooood, close friend to Ariel. Renée nods and rolls
her eyes…
Back in Fabián’s room, Fabián asks María what it is that
she wants…whether she wants him to distance himself from Anifer completely and
never see her again (duh! Hello-o! He did that already all on his own!). María
acknowledges that he is Anifer’s biological father and Anifer knows it; what
she wants is that Anifer not raise her hopes about so many things. Fabián,
however, pleads that María allow Anifer to see him at least 1-2 times per week;
he is sure Anifer will get bored when she realizes that he can’t do anything
with her. María wonders if his intention is only to see Anifer; so Fabián
confirms that it’ll only be for a while…unless he gets so bitter that he’ll ask
her not to let Anifer see him in that condition. When María responds that she
has to make that decision with Mauricio because he is Anifer’s real father, Fabián
gives her an intense look. (Suckaaaa...)
At Vero’s house, Vero is on the phone stating
that she is Mr. Barrientos’ personal assistant and is inquiring about the
opening for a systems engineer. When they tell her that the position is already
filled, she responds that she will send them his résumé anyway. They continue
looking at the job postings until Vero points out one that would be good for
Toño, but he doesn’t think it’s for him. Esperanza, who happened to pass by,
comments that Toño has never known what was for him. Toño grumbles; so
Esperanza comes back and tweaks his cheek telling him not to get upset. (Yeah,
with offspring, you can't just put them back when you realize you made a
mistake. This isn't Kroger.)
At Jorge’s house, everyone is at the dinner
table when Dulce announces that she suggested to their father that they go on a
vacation. Sammy thinks it’s a great idea, but Jorge squelches the idea when he
tells them “NO”…until he finds a job, they won’t be able to do anything; so
they shouldn’t get their hopes up. When Baldo then comments that they can go to
the beach and he can go back to Tijuana, Sammy complains that he is bringing
that up again and asks his mother to tell him they don’t want him to leave.
Dulce obliges, but Baldo asks why it is that she offered him the money. When he
challenges Dulce to admit that she doesn’t want him or Lili there, Dulce denies
it and adds that she would not be capable of feeling that way…all she wants is
that they live in peace. Baldo chides her and adds that she is very anxious for
them to leave. When Lili agrees, Dulce pulls her claws out and tells them that
they should be grateful that she allowed them into HER home and that she is
trying to help them because she is a good Christian. When Baldo points out that
she is always stressing that they are children of sin, Jorge tries to stop him,
but Baldo continues that Dulce hates them because Jorge cheated on her with
their mother…the woman whom Jorge loved much more that he loved Dulce. Dulce then
shows her fangs and tells Baldo that he is rude and ungrateful. When she turns
to Jorge and points out how Baldo is speaking to her, Jorge remains quiet with
his arms crossed as Baldo continues that Dulce is like a storybook stepmother…a
WITCH! Jorge has had it and shouts, “Enough!” before he tells both of them to
apologize to each other. Dulce responds that they should let it go…some day
they will see that she only has good intentions. As Lili rolls her eyes, Dulce
continues that she is giving the best of herself so that love and harmony will
reign in this HER house. Baldo looks at Jorge who has his head down as he
remarks that he only prays that God will help them so that they will end up
being a family…because that is what they are…a family. After he asks them to
please be conscious of that because that is their reality, Jorge gets up and
walks away. (Yeah Baldo, ya little punk, you are growing on me too.)
At the hospital, Renée tells Fabián that he
can go home in a couple of days and that there is a type of therapy that might
help him. When Fabián asks what she has been up to, other than trying to
encourage him, Renée responds that she has been looking for Noel and Ariel has
been helping her. Fabián hopes they find him before the cops do because it’s against
the law to pretend to be dead. When Renée asks what they would charge Noel
with, Fabián tells her not to take him seriously; he wants to sleep for a
while.
At the gazebo, the Coop members meet. Toño wonders if
Fabián is really going to give them the company back without asking for
anything in return. Mauricio shares that they haven’t finished all the terms of
agreement, but everything is going smoothly; they should take advantage of
Fabián’s reasonableness. Nerón, however, thinks it’s very odd… Fabián must have
had a hard hit to the head during the accident because, otherwise, he doesn’t
understand it. Mauricio remarks that Fabián’s body was destroyed, but it seems
that it saved Fabián from being insane because he seems very healthy in that
aspect. Jorge thinks it would be good since Logatoys has the ideal conditions
and machinery to produce toys. Toño then interjects that he has some money
saved that he would like to invest in the Cooperative. Jorge and Mauricio are
quite surprised and happy…
When they look at Nerón to see if he has anything to add,
Nerón explains that he will owe them because a regiment happened to befall his
home…they can just imagine the chaos. After Mauricio asks “Gilberto” how things
are going at his home, Jorge responds that they are pulling through...trying to
move forward with his marriage to Dulce. (Mauricio mentally tallies the
remaining weeks in the TN and prays he does not run out of names.) When Toño
wonders if Jorge is just going to forget about Kika, Jorge remarks that story
has ended…because he needs a mother for his children…he has that
responsibility. He doesn’t want to continue talking about it, but does want to
assure them that the Coop meetings and the talks that they are like an oasis…he
values them…because they have no idea what it is like to have to live with four
adolescents day after day. Toño agrees and points out that he has his kids and
Nerón has Milady; so they should consider these meetings as a vacation.
Mauricio also agrees that running this company will be like being on a
vacation. They all toast to “Life is coming!” (These people, blind optimism in
a situation wherein they have accomplished absolutely nothing in recent
memory.!)
A Couple Days
Later???
Fabián is at his home in bed. Mauricio asks if he is okay
there or if he wants to be moved elsewhere. After Fabián tells him he is fine
there, Renée assures him that he will be well attended by the doctor. When
Anifer adds that she will be there to take care of him every day, María
corrects her that it won’t be every day, but some days. Fabián thanks them and
tells Anifer that what counts is her intentions; though she does have many
other things to do…go to school, design toys, and all those things. After
Anifer asks if he will be okay, Fabián assures her that he will be fine…he will
be waiting for her visits and her smile. As Anifer hugs Fabián, María looks
vexed and glances at Mauricio who also looks worried.
Days Later—
At the orphanage, R&R watch Manolita play as they tell
the director that, after thinking it over for days, they have decided that they
want to adopt Manolita…she is the child that they want to love, educate and
spoil. The director is elated and tells them they now need to start the
paperwork, but warns them that there are other candidates. When Rafa worries
that there were several candidates ahead of them, the director shares that many
have already adopted, some have been eliminated, and though there are still
some candidates ahead of them, they are progressing. This gives R&R renewed
hope.
Mauricio is at Renée’s house just to let her know that they
will start manufacturing the bracelet the next day. Feeling awkward, Mauricio
starts for the door and tells Renée that is all he wanted to tell her, but
Renée quickly says, “That’s good! I am very happy that your project is moving
forward. You must be happy, right?” Mauricio responds, “Yes, and nervous. I
don’t know why, but there are feelings coming from all over…” Renée thinks it’s
normal…since he is returning to Logatoys. Mauricio laughs because it feels the
same as when he would return from the boarding school to his father’s home.
Mauricio then mentions the problems with Fabián, but changes his mind and tells
Renée that it’s not her problem. As he starts to leave, Renée tells him that
Fabián is a little better; Anifer’s visits help him a lot. Mauricio confides
that every time he takes Anifer, he feels strange. When he tries to stop the
conversation and tells Renée that he doesn’t know why he shares his problems
with her, Renée responds that he shouldn’t worry because it’s normal that he
should feel uncomfortable because, in a way, he is jealous. Mauricio smirks and
denies being jealous of Fabián since things haven’t been going very well for
him lately. Maurico starts to leave (again) but comes back. As they look
awkwardly at each other, they start their jibberish as they try to explain
their last kiss until Renée says that she thinks it was an accident…their
desire overtook them. Mauricio’s confesses that his desires are overtaking him
right now too. As he moves in for the kiss, the moment is squashed when Ariel
walks in and says “Hello!” ( Three Words Mauricio: Deep Woods Off.)
Mauricio’s frown turns to a forced smile as he tells Ariel
that he always arrives at opportune times. As Mauricio continues that Ariel is
good looking and well dressed, Ariel walks over to Renée and kisses her. (At
least he didn't raise his leg and mark her like Loopy.)
At Jorge’s house, Jorge is working on his laptop
when Dulcer comes in with coffee for him and gives him a hug. After he tells
her that he is working on preparations since they start production the next
day, Dulcer suggests that they take advantage since the kids are at school, but
Jorge politely turns her down because he is very busy. When she again suggests
that they go somewhere the coming week-end, Jorge responds that he doesn’t
think they can. She seems to give up and
starts to walk away, but returns because she needs his help with something—no
matter how much she tries to get close to Valentina, she can’t; it’s as if
Valentina hates her. (Oh Dulce, it is probably just hormones, like 'Fool me
once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me' hormones.) After Jorge tells her
that she needs to make an exerted effort, Dulce brings up Baldo’s rudeness,
especially with her. When Jorge remains quiet, Dulce gives up once more and
walks off to the kitchen. (We listen intently, but do not hear her using the
butcher knife on herself.)
At Renée’s house, Ariel wonders why Mauricio is
there. While Renée goes to get some coffee, Ariel tells Mauricio that he is
probably there to make his indirect remarks; so Mauricio clarifies that he is
making very direct remarks…and he will speak even more directly to Renée. Upon
seeing Renée walk back in, Mauricio comments that they were just talking about
what a good guy Ariel is…well that is what
he appears to be…though his appearance may not be real. Mauricio fumbles
his words before he states that he needs to leave. Once alone, Renée comments
that she doesn’t know what happens to Mauricio; Mauricio always acts strange
when he sees him (Ariel). Ariel remarks that Mauricio is jealous and wonders if
Renée hasn’t figured out that Mauricio is still in love with her, but Renée
laughs it off and tells him that is not so. She walks back to the kitchen and
sighs deeply as she thinks of and says Mauricio’s name.
At Nerón’s house, Socorro is serving breakfast. (Did these
two meet at 'My parents were drunk when they named me Anonymous’?) After Cicero
complains about how late it is and that the kids might have to stay home since
it is too late to go to school, Socorro tells him everything she has already
done that morning; so Cicero tells her that she needs to get up even earlier
because he can’t have the kids at home doing nothing. Flor quickly comments
that since he brought up “doing nothing,” she wonders what is going on with
them because the few days they said they would be staying have already passed.
When she asks how many more days they will be there, Cicero tells them that
they will be leaving soon. Nerón then asks how things are going with the bank
and his business, so Cicero responds that things are moving along. They
continue talking until Socorro agrees that they have been there several days as
interlopers; so Cicero clarifies that they are not interlopers because this is
HIS house as well as his brother’s because it’s what their mother left them.
Flor interjects that what Cicero has forgotten is that his mother has gone to a
better place and now the house belongs to Nerón , Milady and her. (Just when we
get Fabian under control, this Human Barnacle shows up.)
Pablo and Lili are at Nerón’s repair shop talking
about how Pablo has to sleep there and can’t continue going to school because
of the many jobs he has. He really doesn’t want to stop going to school, but he
can’t handle everything. When Lili suggests that he drop one of his jobs since
she will soon have her brithday and will get her money, Pablo tells her that he
would rather she not spend that money. He wants to continue working and will
see about continuing his studies later. After he tells her that she should be
the one to continue her studies, Lili comments that it is too bad that their
plan to go to the US didn’t pan out…surely his father would have helped them.
Pablo doesn’t want her thinking about that; and when Lili suggests that they
both cross over to the US and look for work, Pablo evades the suggestion and
tells her he has to get back to work.
At Nerón’s house, Cicero tells Nerón not to feel
bad; he is taking care of everything. When his wife mockingly agrees, Flor
interjects that since Cicero has so much time and does nothing, he should tell
them about the troubles he had with his house and business. After Cicero’s wife
quickly makes an exit, Cicero blames the bank and all laws regarding safety,
health and hygiene. Nerón then suggests that Cicero could at least help out at
the repair shop so that he won’t be there bumming around, but Cicero laughs it
off and tells him that repairing tires isn’t for him…and he needs to be
available in case his friends call him. As he continues explaining away, he
gets up and walks away. Flor can only shake her head in dismay…and doesn't even want to look at Cicero (Oh Boy! Let's
try something. You fix ten flats, you get a sandwich. No flats, no sandwich.
Simple and fair, right?)
At Vero’s house, Toño, Vero, and Esperanza are having coffee
together. Experanza appreciates how Vero pampers her and makes her feel at
home…unlike others that she knows (as she looks toward Toño). Toño thinks that
this is a day when everyone will be against him…even those %*&# at the
company want to bleed him dry. They talk about the lawsuit they have against
the company…Vero dreads having to face them the whole afternoon. After
Esperanza comments that it will be worth it, she asks Toño how things are going
with the administration of the savings. Toño fudges as he tells them things are
going well; he invested some money in the Cooperative. Though it wasn’t a large
investment, he is hoping they will have big returns. Vero also has faith in
that, but reminds Toño that it is long-term; so they need to keep looking at
other options. Esperanza then tells them that since their meeting is in the
afternoon, she will take advantage of the time to go to the supermarket, but
Vero and Toño have other things to do before the meeting and want Esperanza to
go for the kids instead. Toño adds that she can do both—she can pick up the
kids at school, then take them with her to the supermarket. When he lists some
things that she can buy, Esperanza sarcastically asks what flavor of ice cream
he would like, but Toño misses the sarcasm and tells her he wants guanábana
(soursop). (It appears we have seen the one singular thing these two do well.
That said, their timing leaves room for improvement.)
At Renée’s house, Renée tells Ariel that she is thinking of
renting the house rather than selling it since selling it would take much more
time to complete the transaction; and R&R really don’t want to spend too
much money so that they can have the funds they need when they get their child.
She then mentions that, though R&R might move to a bigger place later on,
they will still remain good friends just as she and Sonia have become good
friends. Ariel remembers that Sonia is the mother of the child that motivated
Renée to make the robot design and asks how things are going with Fabián in
regards to getting the rights for the robot. Renée sighs deeply and replies
that she hasn’t been able to discuss that with Fabián; in fact, Fabián has
already forgotten about launching the robot as a toy. When Renée thinks that it
isn’t the best time to ask Fabián, Ariel comments that he knows Fabián has
changed as has her relationship with him, but, in terms of legalities, being
related doesn’t guarentee anything. He recommends that Renée make things clear
and get everything in writing. Renée agrees, but doesn’t think it will be easy
seeing Fabián in a wheelchair and asking about the robot…and then getting it in
writing.
Outside, Moe (aka Mauricio) hides behind a car
looking toward Renée’s house as Jorge comes out and wonders if he is okay.
Mauricio responds, “Shhh! Can’t you see I’m incognito?” Jorge only sees
Mauricio as he is and suggests that they go to Logatoys, but Mauricio tells him
to wait and get down! Mauricio sees Ariel leaving Renée’s house and insists
that Jesus (Jorge) get down! After Jorge asks why he should get down, Mauricio
insists again that he get down and asks if he doesn’t think that guy looks
suspicious…in just the way he moves…it seems like he is hiding something! As
Ariel gets in his car and drives off, Mauricio tells Jorge to stay down so that
they won’t be seen.
He also tells Jorge to take note of how Ariel
drives and grabs the steering wheel. Jorge has no idea why Mauricio is pointing
out those things; he sees nothing suspicious about it. Jorge then tells
Mauricio that they should get going to Logatoys, but Mauricio has something
else he has to do first. When he tells Jorge to hand him his car keys, Jorge
hesitates before giving them to him and telling him to be very careful since
the accelerator is very sensitive…and they take off after Ariel!
At the repair shop, Nerón shares that things are
going well; Cicero hasn’t asked him for anything other than to stay with
them….not even money. Pablo thinks that is more than enough since he is
providing a roof over their heads and food. Nerón worries about his next
electricity and gas bill, but excuses it since it deals with his son. He feels
obligated since he wasn’t there for his children when they needed him. Nerón
would have liked to have been a better father, but he couldn’t because he was
always working and didn’t have time. Pablo thinks Nerón is cool and would have
liked to have a father like him. After Nerón laughs, he asks Pablo when he will
share what happened when he went to look for his father, but they are
interrupted by Cicero’s annoying whistle. Nerón
thinks Cicero is there to help, but after Cicero asks Pablo to step away, he
asks Nerón for some money to buy things that his son needs. After Nerón
comments that Cicero is going overboard with his requests, Cicero tells him to
remember that it was he and his brother who gave him the money for the shop.
In a parking lot somewhere, Ariel is leaning
against his car waiting for someone when the two stooges drive up and park a
distance away. When Jorge comments that they are acting like adolescents,
Mauricio responds that Ariel’s ill-intentions are obvious…he is two-faced.
Jorge doesn’t think that this is the best way to win back Renée, but Mauricio
doesn’t think Jorge is the most qualified to be giving him advice on romance.
When Jorge asks if Maurico is worried that Renée is liking the guy too much,
Mauricio tells ‘Dr. Love’ that he doesn’t want advice or questions, much less a
sermon! Jorge points out that they are not at the age to be having these
romantic bursts; Mauricio should be worrying about other things like his family
and providing for his daughter. Mauricio assumes Jorge is implying that he try
again with María…and he has thought about it. When Jorge remarks that Mauricio
likes Renée more, Maurio becomes exasperated to see that Jorge thinks he is
such an expert on love. Mauricio then refocuses and watches Ariel; he is
anxious to know what or who he is waiting for!
At Renée’s house, Rodrigo shows Renée her newly
painted old room which will be for their daughter. After Renée comments that it
is looking very nice, R&R share how excited and nervous they are. Rafa puts
a damper on things when he tells Rodrigo that he still needs to talk to his
parents. Rodrigo, however, doesn’t think that Renée wants to listen to the
problems Rafa’s having with his in-laws and asks Renée how things are going
with her ‘galán.’ After Renée confides that Ariel is winning her over, R&R
laugh and kid her about it.
At the parking lot, Moe and Larry (better known as Mau and
Georgie) hide behind Jorge’s car as they watch Ariel meet with a shady-looking
man. As Ariel hands a folder to the man, Mau wonders what it could be!! He
won’t give up until he discovers who this man is!!... (Oh Boy, scratch that
..Oh Jeeeze)
Episode
92: If It Walks Like the Devil and Talks Like the Devil, It Must be…the DEVIL!
Renée and Vero bump into each other outside at
the cul-de-sac. They hadn’t seen each other in a while. After Toño comes by and
says ‘hello,’ Renée tells Vero that she is happy to see that they are getting
along the way they used to. Vero
asks about Ariel; so Renée shares that Ariel is a great guy and she feels very
comfortable with him, but, officially, there is nothing more. Vero hopes that
they don’t end up like Mau and María who were on and off; and it was just a
waste of time and energy. Renée is surprised to hear her say that since Mau and
María are together. Vero is shocked that Renée is so far behind on the news
that Mau and María are Anifer’s parents…and that is as far as that goes. Renée
wonders why Mau never told her. (TN rule #53: Talk until you are BLUE in the
face so long as you never ever tell anybody anything useful.)
After Mau makes up some wild assumptions
regarding what Ariel could be up to (Pop quiz question for the Patio: What were
the wild assumptions? Never mind, this scene was sliced, so no quiz!), Georgie goes to see what building Ariel and the
shady-looking guy entered…it was a Rehab Center.
Esperanza is on the phone thanking the
neighbor for taking care of Fidelito while she, Tania, and Neto are at the
supermarket. After she hangs up, she tells Neto and Tania that they are there
to buy only what is needed because they need to hurry back home.
At the gazebo, Renée still can’t believe that Mau and
María are not a couple since they are always together and look so close. Vero
explains that they are putting on an act for Anifer…so that she won’t suffer.
Renée thinks that Anifer doesn’t know and it won’t take long for her to find
out the truth. Vero still can’t believe Renée didn’t know and chalks it up to
Renée being up in the clouds because of Ariel. Renée denies it. Ariel is
charming and she can talk to him about so many things; he isn’t a machista like
Alejandro or the jealous type like Lupe…and he isn’t immature like Mauricio.
Vero thinks Ariel sounds like the perfect man for her, but Renée has many
doubts.
At the supermarket, Esperanza and Tania freak out because
they can’t find Neto.
At Fabián’s house, Anifer tries to encourage
Fabián to go out to the garden, but Fabián prefers to leave it for another day;
he prefers to stay in bed. He asks her if she is bored and if she would like to
go outside, but Anifer refuses and tells him she invited him out since he is
always inside. Fabián then asks María how the production of the bracelet is
going; so she tells him that production will start the next day. Fabián
comments that no one would have ever thought that Logatoys would be for the
smallest and prettiest designer. Ani
agrees that she is the smallest and the prettiest, but disagrees that Logatoys
is for her. She adds that Anitoys is a little bit hers since it has her name
and it has the toys she made with her father. Afterwards, Anifer shows Fabián a
robot that she drew during recess and wants to explain it to him. Fabián
doesn’t think he needs an explanation, but Anifer insists since adults always
need an explanation and are always confused.
At the parking lot, Mau is still making wild
speculations as to what Ariel is doing. After they watch Ariel and the
shady-looking guy come out and get into Ariel’s car, Mauricio goes to find out
what Ariel was doing in the building. As Mauricio leaves, Jorge calls him
‘Macario’ and laughs hysterically as he tells Mauricio that he will go with
him.
At the supermarket, Esperanza pleads with the manager to
announce the information on Neto. After he does, Tania worries that someone may
have taken Neto. (So just in case, leave your number, as they will be returning
him soon.)
At Fabián’s, Anifer is on the bed with Fabián
finishing up her explanation of the robot she drew. María tells her they need
to leave, but before they leave, Anifer asks Fabián how he is feeling and if
anything hurts. Fabián replies that nothing hurts…it’s feels as if his legs are
not even there. Every time she comes
to visit, she will find him there because nothing will EVER change. As María
walks out, Fabián stops her and tells her that she and Anifer could have been
his family. María bluntly tells him neither she nor Anifer are a part of his
life. Once gone, the therapist comes in with a cane and asks Fabián if he wants
his therapy now, but Fabián declines the therapy because he would
rather……WALK!!!
At the rehab center, Mau questions the
receptionist who refuses to give him any information. Mau understands that the
man can’t SAY anything; so he tells him to nod if the answer is ‘yes’ and to
shake his head if the answer is ‘no.’ After Mau asks him the first question,
Jorge tells Mau that they should leave, but Mau insists on asking the man to confirm if Ariel is an
addict or a local dealer. The man is shocked at the question and responds,
“Local Dealer??” Mau immediately takes the response as confirmation that Ariel
is a local dealer, so the man tells him that is NOT what he said. Mau tells the
man that he doesn’t need to say anything else because he doesn’t want him
getting into trouble. (Three episodes ago there was a fleeting glimpse that you
had a brain. As I understand now, it was just a loaner?)
At Neron’s house, the kids are noisy and
driving Socorro crazy. Flor walks in slowly with Milady and screeches, “BE
QUIET!!” After everyone gets quiet, Flor rushes to the kitchen with her grocery
bag. (Who knows where she left Milady because she doesn’t have her anymore.) As
she angrily starts to put away the groceries, Cicero’s boys go in and tell her
they are hungry. As they grab some apples, Flor takes the fruit away from them
and tells them it’s for breakfast and for Milady. Soon after, Cicero comes in
and after he tells the boys to go to the other room, he angrily tells Flor that
she shouldn’t talk to his kids that way. If anyone is going to correct them,
it’ll be him. Flor then retorts that they have abused their stay long enough
and it’s time that he get his things and leave. Cicero laughs and tells her she
is confused because this not her house; this is his father’s house…that is the
way it is written in the deed…in his father’s name and he is the son…Flor is
nobody! To aggravate her more, he grabs an apple and bites into it. (What this
TN needs is a lot more butcher knives and guns.)
At Fabian’s house, Fabián takes a few steps using the
cane. The therapist comments that he does better every time. When he tells
Fabián that it’s a miracle to see him walk again, Fabián responds that the
miracle was made by the only specialist who gave him hope and told him it
wouldn’t be easy, but it could be done. After Fabian has a flashback, he tells
the therapist that he doesn’t know how long it will take or how much therapy it
will require, but he will walk on his own.
At the supermarket, Toño has joined the hunt
for Neto as he and Tania run down the corridor and out to the parking lot
yelling out Neto’s name. Meanwhile Vero runs through the grocery section…also
looking for Neto. Esperanza is searching in the stockroom with the store
manager.
At Nerón’s house, Flor enters the kitchen
being quite friendly as Socorro cooks. Flor doesn’t want to sound mean, but she
asks Socorro how she can stand Cicero who does nothing but scratch the fuzz on
his belly button. When Socorro hints that she could tell her lots more, Flor
hopes that Cicero doesn’t hit her because that would be the last straw. After
Socorro replies that it doesn’t happen now...it was in the past, Flor starts
for the door, but Socorro stops her and tells her that Cicero got into some bad
business that didn’t go well. Flor wants to hear more, but Socorro has to take
the kids something to drink. She will tell her when she comes back. (Oh goody
gumdrops. It will be flipping swell when his friends discover where he is
hiding. Deep Woods Off for that little gnat Ariel, but this cockroach needs a
big can of RAID!)
At the supermarket, the store manager tells the
Barrientos family that Neto could not have left the store. Toño is hysterical;
so everyone tells him to calm down which only gets him more upset. As the store
manager turns to go check the surveillance cameras, Neto walks up from behind
and says, “What’s up, Pa?” As Toño hugs Neto and tells him he shouldn’t walk
off, Esperanza asks Toño to forgive her, but he only grimaces at her. (Why is
it always the kids? Like, why can't Toño just wander off and never, ever,
positively, for sure be seen or smelled again?)
At Logatoys, everything is ready to start the production
of the bracelet. Nerón comments that it feels good to be back, but Mau feels
strange…like his stomach is turning. When Mau remarks that Logatoys continues
to be part of their lives, Jorge wonders why he doesn’t fight to get it back.
Gladys agrees and tells Mau they miss him…and this is her saying it…and she
never says it. Mau explains that it’s not that easy because he legally gave up
the company. Anyways, Logatoys is in the past and the future is Anitoys. Mau
walks off saying that this is just a nostalgic trip. Since he sounds so
profound, Gladys shares that in her homeland, there is a saying, ‘You who are a
poet can compose in the air…” She wants to share more, but Nerón rushes away
with Jorge. (We have a saying custom made for Mauricio: “Even a blind hog finds
an acorn sometime.”)
At Vero’s house, Toño and Vero discus Neto’s
incident. Vero doesn’t think Toño should be blaming anyone; instead she is
worried that Neto is regressing when she thought he was progressing so well. Toño insists on blaming Esperanza and tells Vero that he
notices that she is worse every day…it’s like she’s in another world. As he
remarks that he worries that she is so distracted, Esperanza walks in with her
luggage in hand and tells Toño that he doesn’t have to worry about anything
anymore. She is leaving this house NOW. (You can hear the cheers all over
Mexico)
Meanwhile outside, Tania chides Neto for
making everyone worry. When Neto complains that she is now getting after him
too, Tania tells him that they will play instead. As they start to play, Jorge,
Mau and Nerón arrive. As Nerón gets down, he sees Renée and goes to talk to
her. In the meantime, Jorge warns Mau not to make a spectacle of himself; he
shouldn’t mention anything about Ariel. Mau, of course, totally ignores Jorge and tells Renée that he needs to
talk to her. Once alone, Mau starts a long speech so Renée tells him to get to
the point. At that, Mau tells her that Ariel is not the man she thinks he is.
At Neron’s house, Nerón asks Cicero how things
are going with his house and business. Cicero makes a bunch of excuses and
walks off because there are too many questions. He tries to get past Flor but
she just stands there; so he goes around her. Once alone, Nerón asks Flor to
get closer to him. After she walks slowly to him, Flor tells him that they have had enough. It’s time to
tell his son and his family to leave. Nerón doesn’t feel right telling Cicero
to leave since the bank was so harsh on him. When Flor tells him that things
aren’t as Cicero said and that he was involved in some dirty deal, Nerón can’t
believe it. (Nerón, you were the last holdout. You did not appear to be
absurdly stupid. Until NOW.)
At Vero’s house, Vero and Toño sit down with
Esperanza to talk. When Toño accuses her of wanting to go live with one of her
other sons, Esperanza is exasperated and wonders why he would think that she
has to depend on her children to make plans. She wants to know where he gets
the idea that she can’t live somewhere other than with one of her children. He
has no idea how bad she feels when half the world tells her what she needs to
do…as if she didn’t have her own life. Esperanza continues that Toño knows very
well that she was going to divorce his father and that she wanted to do things
on her own. His father is gone; and though they didn’t reconcile, they made
their peace. She was not buried next to him…she continues to be alive; and, for
many years, she has wanted to do something other than take care of her
children. At that, Vero apologizes for whatever part she has played in this;
they have been very inconsiderate of her. Toño, however, disagrees that they
have been inconsiderate; moreover, when she became a widow, they brought her to
live with them so she wouldn’t be alone…and she never said ‘no.’ (Well, she
just did, Einstein.) Vero interrupts and tells Toño to cool it and respect his
mother; he needs to listen to what his mother is saying. Toño denies
disrespecting his mother and asks Esperanza why she is throwing the fact that
she is taking care of his children in his face; he didn’t force her to come,
nor did he make her stay. Esperanza agrees that he didn’t put a gun to her
head, but what he doesn’t understand is that if she agreed to take care of his
household, it was because of the situation they were in…she did it for them.
She doesn’t mind helping them out because she adores her grandchildren…and she
adores them too…but she is more than a mother and grandmother. Children seem to
forget that their parents are people; and they can make decisions about their
lives just as anyone else does. In case they don’t remember, the responsibility
for their children does not lie with the grandparents; it is solely the
responsibility of the parents.
At the gazebo, Mau doesn’t want to go into much detail,
but that is how he found out that Renée’s beloved Ariel is a VIP client at a
rehab center. Renée listens to him, but can’t believe it. She thinks he doesn’t
give a hoot about Ariel; all he wants is that she stop trusting Ariel. Mau ends
up admitting that Renée is right, but only wants to protect her so that the guy
won’t make a fool of her. Renée doesn’t believe Ariel has that type of problem;
and even if he does and hasn’t told her, he must have his reasons. What Mau is
doing is a result of his jealousy and prejudices which are overtaking him. When
she tells him that he is making things out, Mau becomes upset and tells her,
“Time out! Hold your horses! I didn’t make up anything…and if I told you it’s
because I don’t want you tripping over another lout like Lupe and Alejandro.
You need to keep your eyes open.” Mau then looks around because he thinks Ariel
will probably show up at an inopportune time as he always does…but that may be
good so that he can throw what he saw in Ariel’s face. Renée remarks that Mau
has nothing to say to Ariel; the one that has anything to say and clear things
up is her. After Mau tells her not to get upset, Renée chides him for talking
dirt about Ariel when Mau hasn’t even told her about himself…things that should
matter to him more….like the fact that he and María are no longer a couple.
When she asks why he hadn’t told her, Mau responds that it was because he saw
how enthused she was with Ariel, then the thing with Fabián happened…then a
thousand other things happened. As he is about to tell her that now that she
knows, he wants to tell her that he hasn’t stopped…..Ariel interrupts with,
“Good Afternoon, Renée!” Mau is totally annoyed and in disbelief…
(Stalker)
At Vero’s house, Vero swears that the last thing they
wanted was to infringe upon Esperanza’s life and her time. After Vero says that
she is very embarrassed and apologizes, Esperanza replies that she loves her
very much, but if things aren’t cleared up, they can rot inside one’s body…and
that can destroy the love of a family. Toño brings up that she already has her
luggage in hand and she hasn’t even told them where she is going or her plan;
he worries. Esperanza shares that she found a retirement home where she can
stay until she finds something else...and it’s cheaper than staying at a hotel.
After Toño asks what she plans to do with the house in Hermosillo, Esperanza
informs him that she sold it some time back. Toño accuses her of being
impulsive and chides her for selling OUR home. Esperanza corrects him when she
tells him there is no “OUR;” that house was hers because his father made it for
HER…anyways, it was too big to maintain. When Toño brings up that they were
planning to divorce, Esperanza acknowledges it, but clarifies that she and his
father were not at odds. During those last days, she and his father talked
about many things and he went peacefully and without resentments. Toño still
doesn’t like the fact that she is leaving so abruptly. When he warns her that
she will end up alone, Esperanza cries that was how she spent the last years
she lived with his father…each one went their own way...and she felt alone in
her own home….and now alone among the family that fell upon her. At her age, one
gets tired and needs to be alone. She isn’t being selfish; it’s just that love
shouldn’t tie them down…they should all feel free. Vero hugs Esperanza and
tells her that she is teaching her a life’s lesson; she has just confirmed that
a woman’s future depends on every decision that SHE makes and not on decisions
that others make. (If both of you could somehow pry yourselves loose from that
tarbaby Toño.....)
At the gazebo, Ariel tells Mau that he didn’t come to
fight with anyone; he just wants to come talk to Renée without having to bump
into Mau. When Mau tells Ariel to explain why he was at a rehab clinic a few
hours ago and to confess that he is a drug addict, Ariel is shocked to know
that Mau followed him. While Mau is distracted by the children, Ariel denies to
Renée that he is a drug addict or a dealer. After Mau comes back and mentions
the man he saw Ariel with, Ariel explains that the man is a private
investigator. He didn’t want to tell Renée about it until they got some
conclusive information. He and his father hired the man to find Noel. (Oh Noes,
Mau, how dumb, how stupid, how abysmally idiotic.)
At Jorge’s house, Dulce comes back into the
dining room complaining that Jorge is still working. When Jorge mentions that
he has invested a lot in the Cooperative and hopes that they will soon make
headway, Dulce hopes so too. She doesn’t want to seem pompous, but she has been
covering the household costs for several days. Jorge thanks her and tells her
that this is atypical; he will soon cover all the costs as that is how it
should be…it’s his duty. When Dulce suggests that he get her into the company,
Jorge responds that this is not a good time…but maybe when the company is
functioning at 100% (What happened to not mixing personal life with business,
Georgie Boy?). What worries him now
is paying back the loan he got from Kika’s company and returning the money he
borrowed from the twins. Dulce offers her savings, but when Jorge asks where
the money came from and if she got it from Blanca Nieves, Dulce gets annoyed and
completely evades responding. As she starts to walk away, Jorge stops her and
tells her he wants to finish this NOW. (Take it and spend it before they come
for her and the money. Never mind, that would be smart and you'd be kicked off
the show right here at the end.)
At Mau’s house, María asks Anifer how she feels about
Fabián…does she like him, not like him, does she feel something for him? Anifer
seems to like him and thinks she may even love him a little…but not nearly as
much as she loves Mauricio. When Anifer brings up that she likes Mauricio being
María’s boyfriend, María gets nervous and tells Anifer that they haven’t talked
about that in a while. Anifer then asks María about her relationship with
Fabián and how it was that she ended up with Mauricio. María avoids the
question by telling Anifer that they can talk about that later…when she doesn’t
have homework. (Like, when you're eighteen?) Anifer is dismayed that María
keeps avoiding the question.
At
the gazebo, Ariel shows Renée the information the investigator gave him. The
investigator thought he had a lead on Noel, but when they got there, they were
told that Noel had never been there. When Mau questions why an old man like
Noel would be in that type of clinic, Ariel thinks it would be to hide himself
from everyone…incognito; Noel could go anywhere just to throw off everyone.
When Renée remarks that the only thing she knows is that Noel left the city,
Ariel tells her he thinks Noel is still in the city because Noel didn’t get on
a bus or an airplane. If they continue looking for him, Ariel is sure they
will find Noel.
