Episode 3: A Double Funeral and Another One Soon-To-Be Part 1

Ricardo and the other agents get Bella out of the casino vault. Once they take her home,
Emanuel (double trouble agent) tells her that what she did was stupid. He understands that she wants to help María, but that’s not the way to go about it. When Ricardo (Good cop with glasses) tells her that Quintero is going to file charges against her, Bella is in disbelief; but Emanuel doesn’t think Bella is in danger of going to jail. Ricardo reminds him that Quintero is very powerful and has a lot of pull in high places…cops, politicians and judges. Emanuel asks Bella to promise that she will let them handle this…she is not to take the law into her own hands.

JP chides his father for killing Bella’s parents. Quintero questions why JP didn’t turn him in when he had the chance and tells him that he just didn’t have the cajones to do it…and deep down, JP is exactly like him because he has his blood.

Emanuel meets Armando on the upper deck of a bus to tell him to leave Bella alone. Quintero doesn’t want to because Bella humiliated him in front of his people, so Emanuel points out that Bella was only reacting to the murder of her parents...which he never agreed to or authorized. Quintero wonders why Emanuel has infiltrated Intrepol if he couldn’t even stop Enrique from stealing the 12 million dollars. Emanuel insists that Quintero forget about Bella…she needs to bury her parents with dignity. Quintero agrees, but can’t promise that he will spare her life.

Emita questions JP about Bella…is it true about her parents and does he really think that their father had anything to do with the murders. She insists that her father is not an assassin. When she tells JP that he can’t be saying those things, JP reminds her that he kept his mouth closed when he was asked about it.

Emanuel calls Castor the Beav to ask how María is. After Castor the Beav tells him she is ok and that Quintero hasn’t given them any more instructions, Emanuel tells him that Quintero won’t be calling them because he put out a hit on them. Castro wants to know if Interpol can help them, so Emanuel agrees, but they have to be very careful.

In the morning, Emita chides her mother for pouring liquor into her juice. When Gloria sees JP, she asks if he isn’t going to join them for breakfast, but he ignores her on walks on. Gloria asks Emita if they fought again. Emita evades the question and tells Gloria that JP is just a little girl.

Bella gets ready to go to her parents’ funeral. She puts their wedding rings and the dog’s tag on a chain and puts it on. As she leaves her house, JP is outside waiting for her and gives her his phone which has a video he wants her to see; it has the evidence she needs regarding her parents’ murders, but he wants to be present when she sees it. They plan to meet later that night.

Double funeral for Bella’s Mom and Dad (very touching…one of the nicest funerals I’ve seen on a TN.) Bella has a flashback of when Daddy was helping her practice her Tae Kwon Do. She places his head guard on his casket as she sobs. Of course Emanuel is there to comfort her.

JP gets home and his Mom asks if his father was responsible for the deaths she is reading about in the newspaper. He doesn’t answer. She tells JP that she is in agreement that JP should not become what his father wants him to be. As Armando listens around the corner, she tells JP she will help him however she can. She didn’t get away from his father when she found out the kind of man he really was, but JP is still young enough to change his future and make his own life. JP tells her she can also change her destiny instead of killing herself with all the drinking.

Wow, moving right along.....
I never ever in a thousand TN Years expected Armando to get whacked this early. And too, I thought that honor would be reserved for Bella. I mean it was just so clinical, like euthanasia. Just quick and (almost humanely) painless. Has cutting off a finger at a time and feeding it to the former owner fallen out of fashion?

Soooo now does the sober (we think) son take over the casino or the drunk Mom, or the drunk daughter?

Or are there shareholders who will choose a new head henchman? There was a room full of people Armando was addressing when 1PabLow was recording it. Are they all owners or the board? It would be hard to imagine anyone worse than Armando, but never underestimate these Columbians, they are pretty crafty in that department.

WOW Mr. Emanuel is sure a snake in the grass. Ask Army. And if I am not mistaken Bella does not know yet how bad he is. I can't remember if he was in the meeting she now has 1PabLow's video of or not. If he was, then she has been warned.

I am looking forward to the take on all this from the rest of you
Thanks

Thank you Ms Chick. I haven't read yet
But I'll say this, I did not see the ending if the crazy child abusing mob
Boss coming this soon. But me thinks the godfather will be worst.

Ok all for Now. Good night all. Later.

Well, I'm totally confused. Is Emanuel the devil incarnate or not? He told Armando Quintero to let María go since she was harmless. He didn't want Enrique whacked in the first place. But now he has taken out Quintero and his driver, and who knows what he has planned for El Castor, “The Beave”, and the other guy.

He sure doesn't mind killing people, yet... Was he truly concerned about María, or for Bela? Was he the guy in the video who was the only one who had, up to that point anyway, not voted to kill Enrique? But that phone call from Juan Pablo that he didn't take, at that point I think he must have known that Enrique was a target, even if he didn't know about the rest of the family. Did I mention that I'm totally confused?

OT: Kirby, that's how I started watching El Rico y Lázaro, seeing the last few minutes of it before Papá A Toda Madre. One night I had it on, sound muted, while I was doing something else. I looked over at the TV and a very good-looking woman had a guy spread-eagled on the bed, in his Biblical underwear, tied wrists and ankles to the bed posts, and she was stradling him and stuffing a cloth gag into his mouth. She looked well pleased with herself. I had no idea who they were or any other details, but you can imagine that I just had to watch the next night. And so it started... but it's all good Biblical stuff so I figure it's like going to church and I'm just getting more good Karma.

andy

Wow, that was crazy !
Will Bella decide to go into hidding when que finds out that Bestia 1 is dead and come back later for the others ?
Emanuel didn't agree to Enrique's death, but he didn't do much to avoid it, either.

Loved the ending. Never saw that coming.

Kirby, I am also wondering who will inherit the “business”?

The Beave is safe for the time being . . . ; )

Time jump coming soon?

OMG. yeah Andy, like going to church without having all those 'Hail Mary's.

In the interest of my own salvation, I keep waiting for some of these R&L gals to shuck off those tents, but have not seen much. That one blonde is smoking, and I think I saw her in the river with a fellow one time. I saw a knee and her head.

Jarifa, I suspect the time jump is is soon. I do not anticipate their showing her in Maryland..oops, Los Angeles for years. This show mooooves.

Adriana: " Will Bella decide to go into hiding when she finds out that Bestia 1 is dead and come back later for the others ? " That is what everything points to. But the way this is going, her time in exile may only be part of one episode.

WOW Emanuel is a real mystery, whacking Army and his driver. I didn't follow his meeting with C&N out in the boonies, but is he not as bad as we thought? LOST. Color me lost. A very entertaining lost.

This show is like many Columbian shows, with cool cars and real motorcycles instead of motorscooters from driving school and nameless generic cars? from the 'Buy Here Pay Here' lot.

Happy Friday

Yummy snake.

Maryland— ha ha!

Another great photo. Yes, it must be tasty!

Yikes Kirby, very appropriate picture for this rough and tumble telenovela. I'm two episodes behind, and evidently that makes me WAY BEHIND, given the fast pace of the action. Will try and catch up over the weekend

Happy to hear that Princess Juju will be coming on board to help provide recaps. We've missed you Princess!

In the meantime, thanks again to Rgv Chick who spends her days working, her nights protecting her chickens from predators and somehow manages to squeeze in a recap of this telenovela as well. New blog name needs to be
RGV SUPERCHICK!!!!!

Kirby: Are we're really sure Daddy Quintero is dead ? He could've been wearing a bullet-proof vest.

Emita might run the business for all we know.

Jarifa: We all KNOW Emanuel was in the meeting based on the 1st episode.

There was a lot of blood on his shirt, Steve. I sure think he was DRT. (Dead Right There)

I am rethinking Emanuel now and wondering if he is Good, Bad, playing both sides, or WHAT?
Bad, he did not stop the murder of Bella's parents, could he have?
Good, he killed Army, but what will replace Armando, worse?

Did Eman know something about Bella's Dad that Bella did not know? Hmmmmmm...

Does Eman want to take over the 'bidness' himself?

Why did the Chicken cross the road? Questions, questions.

Thank you, Rgv Chick.

Emanuel was in the meeting. He was the guy whose response we did not hear, but I think in the end he voted Yea. In the video Isabela saw, she did not see his face, nor hear his voice. She was wondering who that other person was, so she does not know she has the traitor by her side. And although he objects to killing wife, daughter and the maid girl, he was on board about killing Ernesto. I expect him to become the most dangerous person for Isabela.

It surprised me that Isabela was friendly with Juan Pablo. Being the son of her enemy, I expected her to treat him as an enemy.

Lucio: Sounds like Emanuel was jealous of Enrique the entire time.

For now, I think the Corrupt Senator is the most dangerous.

Thanks Lucio.

Well about Juan Pablo, she had her gun on him for a looong time when they were in the vault together, and it appeared to take some talking on his part to convince her he was not like his Dad. That was what I took away from it.

And I agree, until, and IF she ever figures out Emanuel, he is of the utmost danger to Bella. The Silent Killer.

Steve did you watch La Piloto? The worst bad guy there was the fellow running for President of Columbia.

Kirby: Yes, I watched "La Piloto".

On Telemundo's "EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS": BPN is based on current Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.

Oh Jeezo, I finally connected Juan Pablo's drunk Mom. She was Herminio's Mom in Despertar Contigo with Daniel Arenas (MMTF) as her son.

Recent TNs we have seen some of these people in:

Despertar Contigo Gloria
La Piloto Emanuel
Ramon Bella
La Piloto Emilia, Juan Pablo's Sister was Olivia in La Piloto

Thanks, Rgv Chick. I'd be lost without your summary.

Hope there's a time jump soon, so Bella's Mission Impossible can begin. Right now, it's too sad, like the scene with Bella putting her parents' wedding rings and the dog's tag on a chain around her neck.

Armando made a pretty good villain, and I liked the contrast of the gray on his head and the brown beard. But I guess this means JP has an immediate decision to make to look out for his mom and sister.

Steve then you recognize Emanuel as the Zeky,General Manager for the Lucio Brothers and the fellow who taught Yolanda how to fly. He was evil there, but kinda sorta had a human streak buried deep inside.

Episode 3: A Double Funeral and Another One Soon-To-Be Part 2

As they leave the funeral, Emanuel asks Bella if she has thought about his suggestion to leave the country…the USA is willing to give her asylum. Bella hasn’t been able to think about anything and, anyway, she doesn’t want to leave since María is still missing. When Emanuel tells her that her life is in jeopardy, Bella responds that she has lost what was important to her...if they want to kill her, they can go ahead and do it.

Maria is at a window crying and screaming for help, but the place looks like it’s out in the boonies. She holds her stomach as she cries (hopefully she isn’t losing the baby).

Later in the evening, at the Fed Headquarters, Ricardo assures Rodrigo and Alicia that they are still searching for María. A few steps away, Emanuel notices that Bella can’t stop looking at her phone. He tells her that they are now her family; and she will never be alone. Bella goes to Ricardo and asks why they haven’t arrested those men if she and Alicia have already told them who they are. Ricardo explains that they have to gather more evidence; and Emanuel tells her they have to follow procedures. Bella is frustrated and thinks that there is no justice in this country.

As JP is packing his things, Armando comes in and asks him who gave him permission to leave. He reminds JP that he bought all those clothes for him; so he can only leave with what he has on. Armando tells JP that he will be accompanying him that night. JP doesn’t want to go, but Armando tells him he is going…and that’s final! Gloria rushes in as Armando leaves and closes the door, but remains to listen through the door as Gloria tells JP that she is glad he is doing what Armando has not allowed her to do. JP pleads with her to do something for herself and go with him. As Armando continues to listen, JP tells his mother that if things go the way he plans that night, they can both leave and start a new life.

Bella goes home after the funeral and looks through her mother’s things. She sees the window still broken and blood on the sidewalk. She then goes down into the batcave and sits on the floor to wait for JP.

JP is in the garage taking pictures of his motorcycles. Armando comes and asks him why he is giving his mother advice behind closed doors. Armando will never allow them to leave. If he wanted to get rid of his wife, he would have put her in a rehab center a long time ago. When JP insists that he is leaving, Armando is sure JP has heard of ‘overdosing’ because his mother is about to drink a lot more. JP knows his father is threatening him and thinks he doesn’t have the cojones to kill his mother. Armando tells him that’s part of life…it has to end. JP still refuses to be swayed by threats and tells Armando he is not going with him that night. As he walks away, Armando tells him he shouldn’t have to carry the weight of another death.

Emanuel meets C&N out in boonies. After they assure him that they now work for him, Emanuel tells them they will have to move fast…that night. He gives them fresh new cell phones and tells them to contact him as soon as Quintero calls them. Castor and Norman want to know how much money they will be taking for this, but Emanuel thinks they should be satisfied to be alive. He then thinks a moment and tells them they can keep Quintero’s portion of the casino since Emanuel is now the Boss. Castro and Norman are satisfied.

Episode 3: A Double Funeral and Another One Soon-To-Be Part 3

Armando walks into Gloria’s bedroom where JP is watching her sleep. He asks JP what he decided so JP tells him that he will accompany him that night. Armando wakes up Gloria and tells her that JP has changed his mind and is not leaving; and she is not going anywhere…she stays in her golden cage because she belongs to him. After Armando leaves, JP tells his mother to pack two bags and gives her a hotel to go to right after he and his father leave the house. Gloria agrees.

Bella is asleep in the batcave, when JP calls her to tell her he can’t go meet her. She will have to watch the video by herself and tells her that she needs to be strong. He also tells her that she can’t trust the cops because he called to warn her father, but someone intercepted the call and apparently never gave him the message.

Armando gets JP into his car with a goon while Bella is in her living room watching the video. She listens as the beasts each agree to have her father killed, but when Armando asks one of the beasts if he/she isn’t going to agree, Bella wonders who he is talking to because the person is not visible.

While in the car, Armando calls Emanuel who is on his motorcycle in the woods. Armando tells him that he will go ahead and take ‘them’ out...he is on his way right now to take care of it. Emanuel is glad that Armando made the decision; he tells him that they can figure out what to do with María later and that Armando should take care of himself. After Armando hangs up, JP asks who Armando is going to take out, but Armando ignores him.

Emita comes in while Mom is packing and wigs out. She doesn’t want her mother to leave her.

Armando & Co. arrive at the house where Castor and Nestor are supposed to be. Armando tries to give JP a gun and tells him that this will be his graduation into the business, but JP refuses and just gets out of the car and walks away. Armando gets out of the car and tells the driver that this will now be his (the driver’s) graduation…he is to kill Castor and Armando will kill Norman. Armando goes into the house calling out for the targets, but finds no one; so he goes outside and heads to the barn. Meanwhile, a masked Emanuel approaches the car and shoots the driver through the window.

Armando enters the barn with gun in hand and closes the door behind him. As he walks he takes a shot at something…this is heard by JP who is still walking away. Armando continues to walk ahead when a shot is fired through the door and strikes him in the shoulder. As Armando turns around, Emanuel walks in, takes off his mask and shoots Armando who goes down. JP hears the shot, stops, but then continues walking. Emanuel approaches Armando and shoots him again to make sure he is…DEAD!!

Good morning! Thanks to everyone for stopping by and rockin' this discussion! There's the rest of the episode, everyone....it's brief and I didn't get every detail. Feel free to add to or correct anything,

Steve, Army was not wearing a bullet proof vest. The shot through the door went through his shoulder and when he went down after Emanuel stood in front of him and shot him, there was blood on his shirt. I'm thinking the third shot was to his head. Well, at least Gloria will be free from her hell. Hopeofully she'll let up on the drinking.

Lucio, you are right, Emanuel did agree to killing Enrique. What he told Armando was that he didn't agree to killing the wife. And I was just as mystified that Bella would trust JP so soon...they even had their first HUG after he gave her the video!

I'm as shocked as everyone that Army was offed so quickly. Adriana Noel, you may be right that Bella might go into hiding...or training...now that she knows the main guy is dead.

More laters

RGV Chick: Norman & Castor will be around for awhile.

I don't see Maria being among the living.

One more thought--I got an irky feeling when Emanuel was talking to Bella at the headquarters and telling her that she would never be alone. He was a little too close and the way he kissed just made me shiver...cuold he have an "interest" in her....Ughhhh! hope not!

Steve, you may be right about C&N...and I was just thinking...we have more bodies on the body count than we have episodes!

Happy National Flip Flop Day!!!! So....stay calm and put your flip flops on!!

Thank you so much for the recap , Chickie.

Wow, Armed and Dangerous for not last long....good. He was muy creepy. He wore that suit and tie in every scene. A very formal bad guy...like John Giotti .

Esme is doing a great job.

Well, it is a gorgeous day here... Clear, sunny, breezy, 70.

There's a marathon of the first week on Saturday evening, 7pm/6c

https://5ftlatina.com/cohete/event/la-bella-y-las-bestias-premiere-week-marathon-on-univision/

Andy...ha...I love your idea that watching that Bibical telenovela is comparable to going to church. I am also fascinated by the term "biblical underwear." As a former summer Bible schoolteacher when my girls were young, it seems like a pretty bizarre take on the Bible.

5ft...thanks for the info.

Arm-ed and danderuff? Nice Diablo.

RGV I am thinking the same as you about Eman 'liking' Bella.

He is friggin creepy, and I do not know what planet he is from. Whose side is he on? OK Emanuel's side, OK.

If he IS, interested, he thinks, in Bella, that would make his actions make some sense in a twisted way. Then he'd better fasten his seatbelt, the pilot has turned on the sign. It looks bumpy ahead.

About Emanuel: There is a little nugget in the LooneyVision write up about his being one of the few men of whom Bella knows his true identity. I wonder what they meant. Maybe later? Or she discovers he is working both sides and forms a truce of sorts?

Emanuel is the only 'BEAST' that Bella won't know about, at least at the beginning (since she'll be basing her 'kill list' on the people she actually sees in the video.
Emanuel was totally eyeing Bella in a very inapropriate way-crazy obsession starting in 3.2.1..
We've been waiting for the time jump right from the start but what if the promos were misleading ?

Sure won’t miss Armando snapping his fingers and then pointing.

Andy: We could have been stuck with Altair J

Jarifa that finger snapping made me want to snap his neck.

Chickie, thank you for continuing with this, you keep clarifying things for me. My thanks also to everyone else for the helpful comments.

OT: Kirby, El Rico y Lázaro is packed, packed, with good-looking to gorgeous women, and some gorgeous women in beautiful dresses. But if you want skin, you'll have to look elsewhere; the royal women actually bathe while dressed; they have a small tiled pool with scented water and floating rose petals and the women get in together, wearing something like slips, and sit as if in a jacuzzi. No skin in this show.

Susanlyn, you have your Bible School, I have mine :-)
And, more seriously, the show uses Biblical stories as a take-off point to spin other stories of romance and intrigue, etc.
But I do now know the story behind the old spiritual song about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and even where in the Bible it is recounted.

:-)

andy

OT again: Susanlyn, I suppose they didn't want to show the guy naked, so he was in his "shorts". I guess they didn't have tightey-whiteys in those days, nor Duluth Trading Buck Nakeds, nor even elastic fabric. So he was wearing, um, "Biblical underwear" for lack of a better term and lack of sufficient descriptive ability or interest on my part.

:-)

andy

OT....Andy, ah yes, ye olde Biblical hot tub. I will have to give the show a peek. The clothing is interesting ,and I noticed some fine looking Biblical men.

It seems the telenovela world has either gone full on Biblical or trashing the church\,re!igion as in ",Padre." In the 11,am "Corazon", there is a priest..an actor who is good in the villain roles that I have seen him in.

OMGosh, Jarifa, that finger-snapping was SO annoying. It would have been so nice if some of those fingers had been chopped off before the shooting.

Niecie, "I liked the contrast of the gray on his head and the brown beard." That was quite an eye catcher. So did he dye his beard???

OT-Adriana Noel, and how is your little beauty??

JudyB, "RGV Superchick" Awww that's sweet of you. I'm not really that super, just persistent...what some might refer to as stubborn??? I'll go until my battery goes completely out LOL But honestly, I do like a challenge...and the greater the challenge, the better!

5ftlatina, thanks for the info on the marathon. I also noticed today that they are airing the episodes at 2 pm (E). I don't know if they just needed something to fill airtime or if this will be scheduled to repeat episodes during the daytime.

They tend to do that during the first week a show airs, but in some markets there's also a late night repeat that will go through the whole run of a show.

Adriana: I'm surprised they didn't show the previews for the next episode because whenever I see other TN's, they usually show "Coming Up Next" on upcoming episodes.

Here are some of the highlights for Friday's episode...the rest will be posted sometime tomorrow---

Episode 4, Part 1: Bella Goes to LA

As JP continues walking down the dark road, Emanuel drives closer on his motorcycle and starts shooting at him. JP runs into the woods and hides until Emanuel gives up looking for him and leaves.

JP walks back to the house and sees the driver who was shot. He gets a pistol and goes into the house to look for his father. When he doesn’t find him, he goes to the barn where he finds his very dead father. Just then, Gloria calls JP so he tells her that his father is dead. After he hangs up, JP cries over his father’s body (tears of joy? Relief?).

At the fed headquarters, Ricardo assures Bella that justice will be done…eventually. When they capture Castor and Norman, they can find out who the brains are behind the organization. When Bella mentions that one of the associates is a Senator, Ricardo tells her that these people are very powerful; it will be practically impossible to get any evidence against them and, even if they do, their lawyers will find a way to get them off. Bella deduces that this country favors people in power over justice.

At her home, Rodrigo and Alicia try to get Bella to eat, but she refuses. They then try to talk her into leaving the country as Emanuel suggested; if those people want to hurt her, they will do so. Rodrigo has no confidence in the cops, he reminds Bella that she and Alicia identified the two men who killed her father and yet the law has done nothing.

At the Quintero home, Emita is having a meltdown. She blames JP for her father’s death since JP left her father alone. She thinks that neither JP nor her mother care that her father is dead…they hated him! JP gets fed up and tells her to shut up and change her clothes since they have to leave in a few minutes.

Ricardo and Emanuel tell Bella that they have a lead on María. María was being held at a cabin…the problem is that is where Quintero’s body was found and María was no longer there. Ricardo suggests that Bella reconsider the suggestion that she leave the country, but Bella insists that she is not leaving Mexico.

As C&N drive along, they discuss how much more dangerous their new boss is than their previous boss…so they need to get on his good side.

Bella goes to look for JP at the church. She is very sorry about his father, but wants JP to tell her about his father’s associates. When JP asks why she hasn’t given the video to the feds, Bella tells him that she wants to identify the other people first.

Bella goes to Emanuel and asks him who Quintero’s associates are. Emanuel advises her to drop it and get on with her life, but Bella insists that she wants to find out who the associates are…if she can’t get the info from him, she will get it elsewhere. Emanuel tells Bella that he is one of the associates and wonders if she thinks that makes him a criminal.

Thank you RGV Chick.

I too was surprised that Armando was whacked so early on. I assumed that he'd be the last to go, but I suppose he had to die since he's the only one except for Emanuel who has seen Isabela. I never got a chance to call him Armie.

Why is Little Man Castor still breathing? And did they have to show the poor doggie being viciously murdered again?

Isabela needs to take good care of that video. Make a copies, please. I'm worried that it'll fall into the wrong hands.

Maria still lives, but for how long?

Episode 4, Part 2: Bella Goes to LA

At the bat cave, Bella uses her computer to do a search of people associated with Quintero. After she compares several pictures of people she has found to the people in the video, she is able to identify all the associates (I think it was all of them) except the one who had his back to the camera.

Emanuel calls Castro who is now at a ranch in Sinaloa. Emanuel tells him that they need to get to work on things. After Norman asks if things have settled down regarding Bella identifying them, Emanuel tells them not to worry about Bella…he can control her; they need to address what they will do with María who has been seeing C&N for several days now. Norman then mentions that there is a concern...María is pregnant.

Bella goes to the funeral, but stays a distance away; she is trying to see if any of the associates in the video are present. When Emita spots her, Emita runs to her and chides her for being there since it was because of Bella’s father that her father is now dead. After Emita goes back to the gravesite, JP apologizes for his sister. Bella tells him that she needs to talk to him; so he agrees to go elsewhere with her.

JP tells Bella how it was that he got the video and that he almost got killed too. He doesn’t know why C&N wanted to kill her family. Bella tells him that this will not stay like this.

At the Bestia meeting room, Bella looks around trying to find any type of information about the Bestias. She mentions the man who had his back to the camera, but JP has no idea who he is. JP wants to leave; so they do so. As they walk, Bella tells JP about how her father was so dedicated to law enforcement, but she does not believe in the law or justice…she will do things her own way. JP tries to talk her out of it, but Bella is adamant that she will do to the Bestias what they did to her parents…she’ll do it by being a beast just like them.

As Bella and JP start walking away from each other, Emanuel watches from a distance and sets off a bomb he planted in a nearby vehicle. The explosion causes Bella and JP to be thrown down on the street. Bella is unconscious.

Much Later (Days??)—

Bella is in the hospital and Emanuel is with her. After Bella asks about JP, Emanuel tells her he is fine and asks why she was with JP. Bella ignores the question and tells Emanuel that she wants to get out of there. Emanuel tells her she can’t leave yet. When Bella asks for her phone, Emanuel tells her he has all her belongings there and wants to know why she has two phones. Bella changes the subject by asking where she is; so Emanuel tells her she is in Los Angeles…because they tried to kill her.

Thank you RGV Chick for Friday's recap.

Lots has happened and we're only 4 episodes in. I can see a time jump happening soon.

Isabela is in LA and in a foster shelter or whatever you'd call where Emanuel took her. Will she be taken to a new home or will she stay there until she reaches of age. Just how old is she anyway. Is she 17 years old?

Maria watch - she still lives but baby daddy Emanuel says that her days are numbered. Not looking good.

That crazy gal slashing at Isabela's mattress. Was she the same one who was at the gym? And why did Isabel think that she could train while on crutches. At least wait until you have healed.

Little Man Castor has lots of kids all over Mexico and one is called Junior? Little Man Jr?

Thanks, RgvChick.

Beast, Bela a “minor” has me LOL. I know that is what we are supposed to believe it but it is hard. She must be 17 and 11 months and 30 days old. . . .

So glad we must be close to the time jump.

Wowzers, Yikes, Holy Guacamole, RGV. Never a dull moment around you. Thank you so much. What a show! So the only reason Maria is alive is she is Emanuel's squeee.
And is carrying his spawn. Yuck.

So the question is.........how much did she know before all this started going down?

The nerve of Emilia screaming at Bella, like this was her fault? That little bitch needs to have a session with a mirror instead.

When Emanuel gave Bella back her phones, I was just sure he had taken that opportunity to completely go through both phones and had discovered her 'video', but apparently not.

When is Bella going to start suspecting something with Emanuel? If Maria ever gets back will she tell Bella he is one of the bad guys? She must know now, at least, as she sees that he ordered C&N out so they (she and Eman) could visit.

What I like about this show: Bella is not stupid like the main good character in most of the recent TNs. She has not figured out everything yet, but she is not doing boneheaded, thoughtless, stoooopid things. She is at a severe disadvantage, but she is savvy and knows how to use her computer, phone, and other technology to her benefit. I don't find myself generously trying to believe unbelievable stuff for the sake of the plot. She is organized, with her Greatest Hits bulletin board in her batcave, and she is focused and determined.

I did wonder who was caring for her house while she is away in LA. I had assumed Maria's Mom and Dad were. I had further assumed Bella's Dad's life insurance and his job, etc. left her well set money wise.

RGV did I mention YOU ROCK. This is a great show, thanks again for setting this up.

Kirby, great point: Bela is not stupid! It is refreshing!

Jarifa, you can tell by the Ariana Grande hair that she is still a minor.

Nice leg for a kid. :-)

Thanks, Rgv Chick.

It's a good thing Bella thinks the Mexican police are useless. Otherwise, she'd tell Emanuel (is he her godfather?) about the video.

I've been wondering if Emanuel was secretly Bella's bio-dad, so I'm relieved he's Maria's baby's daddy instead. Poor Maria. I'm thinking she still trusts him and believes he's risking himself to try to protect her.

Now that Armando's dead, JP's mom has gotten some of her groove back. She's tougher with Emita (but even though Armando was evil, the girl has a right to mourn her father).

Thanks Rgv Chick. Will watch this some time today, but I always like to know where it's going first. Also, no way can I watch at night. Those visuals are not ones I want to see all night long and that's how my mind works....alas. So glad though that you have launched this Patio.

Speaking of bad guys and predators, hope no chickens were lost last night and that you got a reasonably good night's sleep.

Happy Weekend everybody! Going to be hot and muggy here.

Thank you , Chickie. The plot thickens.

When I saw that picture on Bella's cellphone of the back of Emanuel's head, I was hoping that he would turn around and Bella would go, "AHA!!!!," But. ...no.

The plot thickens. This show is full of surprise twists and turns. I never suspected that Em was the father of Maria's baby. The guy is all over the place !

Judy,, it is going up to 85 today ...sunny, clear, and beautiful. The rest of the week is supposed to be in the upper 80s and lower 90s . #summertimerocks

#flipflopsrule

Okay..off to a dance recital.

Adriana Noel here

Rgv, you are great! I'm even starting to doubt you a little bit. When do you have the time to write all of this? Are the chickens doing the work and you're just taking credit? Have you no shame? :)

My little "beast" si doing ok, thank you for asking - not quite beast behaviour, but she is spoiled rotten.

Haven't yet watched Friday's episode, so if this was already addressed in the show, sorry. Is Emanuel Bella's legal guardian now, because he's her godfather? I think he'll leave her in LA, checking up on her every once in a while, not thinking that she's any kind of serious threat, but how will Bella be able to keep her revenge hidden from him? Will she even want to do that, if she trusts him? As of now, he's the only grown-up in her life.

I wonder what he'll do with his father's business.

Andy, Altait J was never a favorite of mine, but I kind of like her in Ley... it's a different type of character for her.

Judy B, long time, no chatting, mi amiga.

Kirby, as I said before, I think that Emita is the worst (in a show full of criminals) and I hope JP takes "good care" of her from now on.

Jarifa, I don't understand why they didn't use different actors for the 'before' scenes. This way her coming back to get her revenge on would look more credible (supposing she goes the "hiding in plain view" route).

Thank you, RGV Chick.
Emanuel, the guy does not think twice about killing if it is convenient for him. In order to scare Isabela he blows up the food cart, killing the vendor in the process. I think he has a soft spot for Isabela and doesn't consider her a threat. That is why she is still alive. Maria, on the other hand, is a threat - for getting her pregnant while underage. And also now because he has to explain how he was able to find her and talk to her. I am afraid Maria won't make it.

Hi Adriana...glad to hear your little princess is well loved and healthy. It's been a long while since we've coincided on a telenovela. All good.

Which now brings me to the question of Maria and the problem that Emmanuel has with her. The pregnancy has so far spared her life. I think he was quite ready to eliminate her until Norman mentioned her pregnancy. And now he knows the baby is a "varoncito", even more reason to save her ,since she's providing him with a son. Not sure how he's going to manage this situation, but clearly he is going to want his baby to be born. At least that is what I think.

But what a skeezy guy. Looks to be in his late forties, seducing an underage teenager, daughter of a servant in his good pal's home. Just yuck.

Episode 4, Part 3: Bella Goes to LA

JP is at the hospital being treated for his injuries; he is yelling out in pain, but still worries about Bella. His mother tells him she will be fine; Bella is being protected by the government (Oh, if they only knew!)

At the hospital, Emanuel finds Bella out of bed and again asks her why she was with JP. When Emanuel suggests that JP was involved with her parent’s murders, Bella doesn’t believe it…after all they wanted to hurt him, too. Emanuel insists that Bella tell him everything JP told her since it might lead them to her parent’s assassins. After Bella recalls Quintero telling the Bestias that they had to take out Enrique, she tells Emanuel that she and JP weren’t talking about anything important. Bella then tells Emanuel that there is something he should know…María is pregnant.

Later as they leave the hospital, Bella is worried about María and wonders when they will find her…the Mexican cops are worthless (especially the TN ones!). After Emanuel assures her that he will focus on finding María, he asks about the baby’s father; so Bella tells him that no one knew about the baby…and no one knows who the father is. When Emanuel goes to put the bag in the trunk, he sighs deeply.

Soon after, Emanuel takes Bella to a residential facility for foster children. Bella doesn’t want to go there, but Emanuel explains that it is a requirement until she reaches the age of majority...and it will give her time to heal.

Days pass?? Bella lays in bed recalling the accident. She is then at the cafeteria where everyone passes her by and bumps into her; so she gives up and puts down her tray. As she walks around in her crutches, she makes her way to a training gym which brings a smile to Bella. Bella walks around the gym and watches a girl at the punching bag. The gym rat tells her to move away. Bella then goes to watch some boxers who are sparring and recalls her kick boxing match.

In Sinaloa, C&N are talking to Emanuel who is there. C&N still wants to get rid of Bella, but Emanuel tells them that they’d better not touch her. Right now, they have to figure out what to do with María…who has her days counted. Castor questions Emanuel since he has been telling them not to kill her, so Emanuel clarifies that he told them not to kill her “yet”…they needed time to plan. Before they get rid of her, though, Emanuel needs to get some information from her.

Later, Emanuel is in cuffs and Castor throws him into the room with María. After he tells María that she can be happy now to have company and he leaves, Emanuel and María look at each other…they hug and kissss!

In LA, a trainer notices Bella and asks her what she is doing there. Bella wants to train, but the trainer tells her this gym is for men who, if they weren’t there, they’d be killing out in the streets…the gym is not for little girls; so she needs to get out. Bella insists since there is another girl, but the trainer continues to tell her to get out or he will call the police.

Episode 4, Part 4: Bella Goes to LA

In the dormitory, Bella lies in her bed watching the video when gym rat comes and tells her she doesn’t like newbies. After Bella refuses, gym rat pulls out a knife, so Bella quickly gets out of bed as gym rat starts slashing the bed. Afterwards, gym rat hopes Bella enjoys her new mattress.

In Sinaloa, Emanuel asks María why she didn’t tell him that she was pregnant. María blames herself for getting pregnant; she messed up. María knew it would cause him problems since she is a minor. When Emanuel tells her he would be cleared, María tells him he is the father.

Outside, Castor, the Beav, insists that he wants to kill the “Leona.” When he mentions that he has a son in Tijuana that could help, Norman kids him about having yet another son…Castor is adding to the beav population all over Mexico. Norman kids him even more when Castor tells him that “Junior” can help them get rid of the girl. Norman then reminds him that Emanuel has told them many times to leave her alone…after all the girl is just a child…what could she do? (You’re in for a big surprise, Norman!)

JP talks to some men at the casino. His family wants to get rid of his father’s shares of the casino. After JP goes to talk to his mother and Emita, Gloria is hesitant about selling and Emita is having one of her tantrums about it. JP reminds his mother that the casino is full of criminal activity…and it could have been his father’s associates who had him killed. Gloria then agrees to sell off their part of the business. At that, JP tells his mother that they will probably have to sell the house too, in order to get by.

The episode ends as Bella lies on her bed in the dark…listening to the video.

Jarifa, and while we are chuckling about a 17ish Esmeralda, let us not forget how a 'high school' girl waltzed in and soundly handed their asses to three tough security guys at the casino before taking Army at gunpoint to show her the
casino money vault.

Gurlz gonna be a handful when she grows up.

Lucio, Eman for sure has a thing for jail bait, I wondered earlier along with a few others if he 'likes' Bella too.
Bella is smart, and if she figures out what Eman is in time, she could use his perverted interests against him.

Good afternoon, everybody! Chickie, let me add my thanks to those of everybody else, you are really special to do this; just don't burn out, even Super Chickie has limits.

Emanuel is one nasty character. I couldn't follow the Spanish so I didn't know what story María got about his "capture", but that's what it looked like, a capture, with El Castor pointing a gun at him. I suppose he wants to find out from María who might know that he is the father of her baby. Does he have a thing for underage girls? Perhaps I'm the only one who didn't notice that he was looking at Bela with more than a godfatherly interest. I could try to find it on the DVR, but I'll just take everyone's word for it.

I'm another one who finds it hard to believe that Esmeralda is a 17 year old; also that she wants to train in the 'bad boys' gym while on crutches. That Emanuel can be anywhere he wants, whenever he wants, to do whatever he wants, blow up whatever he wants, all while seducing any 17 year old he wants and being a double agent between the mob and Interpol. This guy is more supercharged than Super Chickie.

Well, I just placed an order for "suspension of disbelief" pills. A really great deal, a double order FREE, just a small charge on my credit card for shipping and handling.

:-)

andy

Were they just tweaking us, when the nasty guy in the gym told a one-legged Bella that the gym is for guys only with the mattress slasher witch a yard or two away? He would have done better to just tell her she needs two legs to work out there or something. Or come back when you are better.

I keep waiting for her future partner in justice Mike the US Marine to show up. Marines are not, in my limited experience, really any tougher than the other branches, they are just twenty pounds of crazy in a ten pound bag.

Andy I didn't see any inappropriate attitude towards Bela either. Padrino Emmanuel seemed properly avuncular and comforting, but certainly not leering and leching. And I was looking for it after reading the comments

Clearly though he's a bad guy in every way for seducing young Maria, not to mention his drug money greed. And from what she said, he had already dropped her before she found out she was pregnant. So she was going to go it alone. Now I assume he's having second thoughts.

But WAIT, there's more. We will double your order just pay a small........................

Good Afternoon, Patiohhh!! Geez, the patio is rockin' today. Thank you everyone for stopping by and adding so much with the comments and discussion. I'm working as fast as I can to get these summaries out to you all...some will be long, others short, but at least you can get the general idea of what is happening. Thank you to those who add more details.

The Beast, yes, the mattress slashing gal was indeed the gymrat. And I agree with Jarifa, Bella must be 17 years, 11 months, 30 days old.

Kirby, yes, how is that this scrawny amateur kickboxer whipped those goons on their ass...quien sabe...was her mother Wonder Woman?? And JP has a lock on his phone, so Emanuel wouldn't have been able to get into it...WOW someone locks their phone!! I do agree with your comment about how savvy and believable Bella is..YAY! a true heroine with brains!

Niecie, I had been wondering if Emanuel was Bella's bio dad too...but the guys just so creepy that I went with the "creep like little girls" theory.

Susy, yes, this TN does have many surprises...isn't is a nice change after all the comedy of errors we've been seeing? I couldn't believe Emanuel was the father either.

Adriana Noel, you're little beast may be spoiled rotten but she is just so adorable. And yes, my chickens walk all over my keyboard and magically press all the right keys...cleaning up is a bit cumbersome though :-)

Lucio, thanks for pointing out that it was a food cart that was blown away along with the vendor...just adds to Emanuel's cold-hearted wickedness.

JudyB, yes! It is a boy that Maria is having. Thanks for adding that detail...hopeofully EmEAnuel will want the baby to be born, but I fear for Maria afterwards.

Andy, " Emanuel can be anywhere he wants, whenever he wants, to do whatever he wants..." Yup! he's "unstoppable"...for now. n regards to Bella training in crutches, couldn't she at least get her arms in shape? Weightlifting, maybe?

One more thing, Kirby, Emanuel mentioned to Bella that she had her MOTHER"S life insurance (small, but important detail I forgot to add). So I guess her father had nothing?? not even a pension for her??? AND JP is trying to sell off his father's shares and might sell the house so they can "GET BY"??? Where is all the freakin' money his father must have scammed throughout the year???

RGV, I'm weird, I know, but I just EN---JOY seeing someone competent and smart more than watching the three stooges with learning disabilities. So in addition to her childish cuteness Bella is on top of things. puppy woof.

Thanks about the life insurance. I had assumed that any job routinely involving getting shot at and bombs thrown at you automatically included life insurance, but what do I know, that's not my line of work.

Thank You RGV&Chick(ens). Great show. Soooo did anybody doze off watching THIS one yet?

Not me! I might close one eye when the bloodshed starts but other than this is definitely one that you just can’t look away for a second :-)

Kirby: Maria is all but DEAD & it's inevitable. I will post the Body Count sometime on Monday.

RGV Chick: I'm surprised Emanuel told Bella to her face that he's one of Daddy Quintero's associates like that. I also believe he found the video & destroyed It!

Judy: Emanuel reminds me of POTUS Frank Underwood.

RGV Chick: I believe Enrique is Bella's Daddy. I'll be shocked if Maury Povich reveals if it isn't Enrique.

Enrique had no $$$$ leftover for his own daughter despite his years in law enforcement ?

I've been saying that from the get-go too. I'm also afraid her parents will get whacked too!

Thanks, RGVChick. It's quadruple duty! This is a winner considering what the 10PM fare has been since La Piloto ended. I am happy to see the gang's all here-or most of it anyway. I guess this is where the cool kids must all be hangin' out these days? I had to wait till today to get what On Demand had up. Thanks for parte 4.

Emita has my last nerve in shreds and I couldn't be happier that her precious papi is now the fecal matter of worms. Emanuel is a high-class greaser who I believe is secretly in love with Bela and probably has been since she was a kindergardener if not a toddler. The lowing tone of his voice jars me as much as Emita's high-pitched 100 mile an hour gritas do. We're in for a grand prix here and cannot wait for Monday's episodio to begin!

Jardinera ! ! Welcome to the Caray underground. :-)

Do you recognize Emilia as Olivia one of the flight attendants from La Piloto?
This is a great, well written, superbly acted, fast show. I'm hooked.

And Emanuel was Zeky, the general manager for the Lucio Bros.

Hi, Jardinera !!! I, too, got a creepy vibe from that weasel Em in his scenes with Bella. Ew. When Bella discovers that he allowed her beloved dad to be killed, he is a goner. #girlpower

Susanlynn: We both know Emanuel is creepily obsessed with Isabela. The Big question is whether she'll find out he was involved in Enrique's death ?

I'm bettimg he'll be the last Beast to go down.

The others including the Corrupt Senator will be difficult.

Alas, I remember the actor playing Emmanuel from long ago Juan Querendon. In that one he was a lowly good guy working in an office, bullied by the boss, ignored by the lady he had a crush on. Finally found happiness at the end, but I've always had a soft spot for him since then.

Oh Judy, Juan Querendon was one of my favorites. I always got a kick out of Santamarina using that statue as a back scratcher.

I wanted to wish all RGV's roosters a Hoppy Father's Day today.

And a Happy Father's Day to you Kirby. I know you've been like a dad to your neighbor's children, and I can only guess how much your caring and interest has meant to them.

Thanks Judy.

I got a card from my first 'adopted' kid. He is 38 now. There have been quite a few over many years, and it is a testament that good truly can prevail when you see them as smiling successful adults. That is a happy trail to leave behind.

I ran into another one who I had almost lost touch with in Wal Mart the other day. She is graduating from college this year.

kj

They're turning out well Kirby. That speaks volumes.

Did anyone (else) rewatch the B&B 4 episodes combined last night?
I thought I saw a couple of scenes which were not in the nightly versions.

Boy, I will tell you one thing, a fast one like B&B makes a world more sense on a second viewing.
Unlike some of the patio's recent TNs where missing a whole episode meant you missed one lover's quarrel and (platonic) makeup.

Esmeralda is doing a pretty believable job, sans beating up gorillas. At the funeral she was very convincing as a little (almost) girl who just lost her beloved Mommy and Daddy.

HAPPY FATHER"S DAY to All the Patio Men! You may or may not be a bio dad, but you have touched children's lives in a way that will continue forever.

Steve, what surprised me was that Bella didn't question Emanuel's loyalty to her dad when he told her he was an associate. That should have been a big clue that he's playing both sides.

Jardinera654, WELCOME to the Patio!! I don't think I've ever been on a patio with you, but I have heard impressive things about your recaps and involvement on Caray...and from the comment you posted, I like the way you think and verbalize! Glad to have you here :-)

Kirby, my roosters thank you for your good wishes....though, personally, I think roosters are somewhat like Fabian...they just plant the seed and walk LOL but then I have seen where a mother hen "vanishes" and a rooster will take care of the chicks; so they can be good fathers.

I could only watch the last two episodes Saturday night; and, I agree; there were some scenes and details that I missed the first time around...so glad Univision finally made a good decision. Ghost pointed out the picture of Army on the bulletin board in the batcave; and it may have been Bella that drew horns and a tail on it with a red marker...I missed that the first time around...small detail, but worth mentioning IMO.

Kirby, what did you do to that bird to scare it so???

The rooster? I was the one who was scared !

I thought he was one of yours.

Well, is it possible that the chicken hawk you posted the other day came to the RGV, snatched up a young rooster and took it all the way to Floriduh? If so, then it just might be one of mine :-)

Hey ho and wowie wow wow! The gang's all here!!!!

I have missed youz. Comcast no longer carries Univision in their basic package (standard maybe, basic no) so I can't conveniently watch. I also get home pretty late from work these days anyway... but this one sounds good... so maybe I will try to follow along with the recaps.

<3 <3 <3

Jewels Hey Hey Hey

So nice to hear from you. This is a great show so far.

BTW: I have noticed that each day the show from the night before shows up on YouTube

Julie, so glad to see you here! You are part of the "good ol' days" for me going back to La Fea Más Bella. Happy to know you'll be hanging out on the patio and so sorry that Comcast has dropped Univision from basic cable. Did this just happen? I think Diana can still see the shows where she is. Anyway, Bienvenido! (or does one change it to "bienvenida" for gals?) Whatever...glad, glad, glad to hear from you.

Julie!!!! So glad you dropped in (((HUGS))) This is one helluva show and with you on the patio along with the rest of the gang...OMG...it'll be awesome-ER!! :-)

Oops, I stand corrected. I found episode 3 in entirety on YTube, but the others are just parts, somehow. I thought I had seen 1 and 2, but could not find them today. Episode 4 was broken down into 4 parts and only 1 and 2 were up there.

Rats.

Hey Judy... no, Comcast locally dropping Univision from basic (not standard) lineup wasn't a recent development. (Comcast owns Telemundo... you do the math.) I think it happened shortly after that show ended that I forgot the name of, the Rosy Ocampo thing with Ariadne Diaz and, uh, I don't even remember who else. Zepeda?

Watching on Youtube isn't a great option for me, actually there really isn't any great option. I just can't devote that much time to watching a show these days. Bummer.

Julie, great to see you here!

Jarifa: Have they've done the Time Jump yet ? I still don't expect Maria to make it alive this week (if she manages to make it to 3 days).

Steve it ended with Bella lying on her bed in the dark watching 'THE' video for the umteenth time. I thought her cast was off though, but I am not sure. If it is, we should be close.

Well, Steve, now that Eman knows that Maria is preggers with Mini-Eman-Jr. he may be able to keep her alive for a bit longer.

Kirby: I'm getting a bad vibe this will NOT end well for Maria, who's STUPID enough to believe Emanuel.

Yet I originally thought Daddy Quintero was the Big Dog in this conspiracy..... nope!

Kirby: Jauma Mateau, who portrayed Miguel Montenegro in "PyP" is in this Teleserye.

RIP Maria!

Kirby: I told you she was going to get whacked.

Ms Chick this was an amazing recap girl. I didn't get to read this on Saturday and forgot about it yesterday
The recap is better than actually see
ing it on tv.
So Emmy is a pervert who likes little girls, yuck.
I won't say much about this cuz the 1
For tonight will be up. But I really enjoyed comments from old friends and some new people. Welcome to the patio and welcome back to the patio. I'm gonna enjoy this crew, good times ahead
I'm especially happy you're back Kirby
You are so much fun.

Hope everybody had a good Father's day
Thank you Ms Chick : )
