Episode 13, Part 1: The Demise of a TadPole

Alicia explains to Rodrigo what Bella has done. Bella insists that everything is over…Norman killed Cas. When Alicia brings up that Bella shot Norman, Bella retorts that it was in self-defense. Alicia thinks that is not Bella shouldn’t take the law into her own hands; she is putting María’s life at risk (stubborn woman!).

Mike sees Pene off as she goes to buy dinner.

Bella tries to tell Alicia that María is dead, but Alicia still insists that unless she sees the body she will not lose hope. Rodrigo tries to talk some sense into Bella to no avail. He tells her that the only one who should judge those who are responsible for the deaths of her parents is God; and he asks her to look into her heart and turn to her parents…they will help her.

JP finds Bella and they have a long talk. JP knows that Norm didn’t kill Cas. He wants Bella to be honest with him just as he will be honest with her. JP knows that Bella is going after the beasts; he is not judging her, but just wants to talk to her as a friend who worries about her and doesn’t want her to suffer…because he loves her. Bella admits that she wants to finish with all those responsible for her parent’s death. She has no peace and doesn’t feel the way she thought she would feel…she doesn’t know if what she is doing is right. JP wants to help her and he wants the same thing; he wants to stop the corruption and see all those criminals rot in jail. When he asks Bella to trust him, Bella remains quiet then asks him how he knew it was her in Culiacan. JP replies that it was instinct…he felt it…and he DID see her scar when she was at the airport (while he was woofing and drooling…). Bella then asks about Emi; so JP tells her that Emi is not doing well; he thinks she’ll go off the deep end. After Bella thanks JP for everything he did in Culiacan, they KISSSSS!

Somewhere near the Leon house, Jr. Tadpole is pretending to be on the phone as Pene comes walking along. He asks her for help in understanding some directions; so Pene takes the phone, but Tadpole grabs her and knocks her out with a chloroformed hankie.

Eman goes to question Bella about the group she mentioned, but Bella denies knowing about such a group. She was being foolish when she mentioned it; and it was just some wild idea she came up with.

Gloria is helping Emi drown her sorrows with Jose Cuervo when JP arrives. JP tries to be understanding with Emi because he knows that things are difficult, but life goes on. Emi still insists that she does not want to go to the university; she wants to be a businesswoman like dad. When JP mentions that their dad was a criminal, Glo and Emi freak out.

Bella arrives home and Mike tells her that Pene should be home with dinner soon. When Bella says that she’s not hungry, Mike tells her that after Lucy died, he felt no hunger for days. Only someone who has gone through what they have gone through could understand what they are feeling. Bella is having doubts about whether she should continue her mission; she is afraid she will end up dead…everyone is telling her different things. Mike tells her it’s her decision.

Episode 13, Part 2: The Demise of a TadPole

Tadpole has Pene in some sleazy room; she’s totally out. Tadpole gets on top of her and slobbers all over her, but stops because he has something he needs to do. Widdo wussy Tadpole gets a BIG gun out and gets Pene’s house keys.

Mike is pacing anxiously because Pene hasn’t arrived. He tries to call her and nada; so he goes outside to look around. Meanwhile, Bella is getting ready to go to bed; and Tadpole is lurking outside. When Tadpole sees Mike walk away from the house, he slithers into the house. As Tadpole walks around the house with gun in hand, Bella senses something is wrong. She pretends to be asleep; and as Tadpole enters, she remains very still. Tadpole stooopidly gets on top of her and points the BIG gun at her not anticipating that Bella will sock it to him, turn him over, and choke the slime out of him till he is on his way to see his Daddy toad at beav dam. Bella is shaking, but then turns cold…just like Mike told her she had to be.

JP is talking to Bella and telling her that she doesn’t have to do anything; he will go after the beasts…that is why he became an agent; and it is now his duty. As he tells her he loves her…the phone rings and interrupts his fantasy dream. Ric tells JP to meet him at the Leon house.

Eman, Ric and Simon are at Bella’s house. They are questioning why Bella moved the body to the entrance hallway. Bella wonders if they think she should have slept in her bed with a dead body. Eman is just trying to understand; and Simon has doubts and thinks that Bella’s story has too many inconsistencies.

Pene is now at the hospital. Mike worries because she still hasn’t woken up.

JP arrives and asks Bella if she knew the tadpole. Bella admits that she knew him since he tried to kill her in LA, but she was able to get away; though not before the tadpole threatened that he would come after her someday. Simon scoffs and still has doubts, so Bella goes to get her laptop and replays the video showing how Tadpole sneaked in and how she dragged him out of her bedroom. (So there, Simon! Eat your doubts!) Ric then tells Simon to go to the hospital to question Pene.

Norman tells the guard that he needs to call his lawyer. The guard tells him he already used up his one phone call, but still allows Norm to make a call. After that, everyone at Bella’s house hears a phone ring…it’s in Tadpole’s pocket. Eman answers and since no one responds, he tells the caller that tadpole is dead. After he hangs up, JP asks for the phone so he can trace the call.

Simon is at the hospital and enters Pene’s room. Mike tells him it’s not a good time as Pene wakes up and asks where she is.

Episode 13, Part 3: The Demise of a TadPole

JP tells the group that the call was made from the hospital where Norm is at. Ric wants Norm transferred back to CDMX, but Eman tells him that Interpol will handle it. Out of hearing distance, JP tells Bella that she could have gotten killed. Bella counters that what just happened makes her realize that she made the right decision…she is going to kill those responsible for her parent’s death one-by-one. JP doesn’t think Bella could be an assassin…it’s against the law. Bella reminds him that the law won’t do anything to those people who are powerful and influential.

At the hospital, Pene tells Simon that she doesn’t remember anything. All she remembers is that she was walking along and that she is now in the hospital. When Mike tells her that Tadpole tried to kill Bella, but is now dead, Pene feigns regrets that Tadpole is dead…as does Mike.

Eman tells Bella that she shouldn’t live alone in the house. Bella responds that he shouldn’t worry because Norman is under arrest, but Eman also worries that Bella will still want to avenge her parent’s deaths.

On their way to the hospital, JP chides Bella for making him her accomplice. When he tells her that he might just tell Ric about her plan, Bella tells him that Ric won’t do anything because when she told him that C&N killed her parents, Ric did nothing because he didn’t have evidence…and JP has no evidence; it would his word against hers.

Norman’s guard takes Norm the phone because he has a call. Eman is calling and asks the guard who authorized him to allow Norm the use of the phone. The guard tells him that the general authorized it and if Eman has a problem with it, he should take it up with the general. Eman asks to talk to Norm, but Norm refuses to talk.

JP and Bella arrive at the hospital to see Pene. They make goo-goo eyes at each other as they wait for the elevator. While they are in the elevator, the looks continue; so JP turns to Bella and gives her a looong kiss until the doors open. Bella wonders what that was, so JP coyingly tells her it was a kiss. Even though he thinks she is crazy, she drives him crazy. When JP wonders if there is a problem with it, Bella responds that the problem is that JP has a girlfriend and as long as he continues to have a girlfriend, he should keep his lips to himself (you tell him, Bella!)

.....yeah you tell him Bella. Ms Chick
Lovely recap.
I would say tadpole Jr. But horntoad
Has spread his seed all over Mexico &
Other places too. No telling which one
Is Jr.But he bit the dust...ahh sheets
Rather quickly. Im surprised she can still sleep in that house. Her father
Was murdered there and Jr died in her bed, O hell no I would not sleep there
There. After all of that was over I'd
Sell it. But that's just me.

Emi needs therapy and momma needs aa.

Why is Simon being such a bitch? He's
Acting jealous. Ok that's whole new tn

Eman is acting like a worried daddy.
But I have to remember, he's a bigo
Crook.
Bella is right to tell jp to keep them
Lusious lips to himself cuz his weird Girlfriend Looks like she could go crazy if pushed.
And Bella got enough problems with mob
People comin after her. The last thing
She needs is a crazy ass girlfriend
Comin after her like freaky woman on life time movies. Now those are some sick bitches on that network. Emi fits
The bill. Ok bed time.

Thank you Ms Chick.

Rgv Chickie, thanks for another great recap. "The Demise of a TadPole" really made me laugh.

Too bad though, as Nina pointed out, that Castor spread his seed all over. Well, Junior the tadpole was nasty, but hopefully the other offspring are not. It doesn't follow that just because their father was evil that they have to be. And Bela can't go all over Mexico, maybe the world, tracking them down.

Some things I did not understand at all. Why was Simon so suspicious of Bela's story? Did he think she went out to find and kill the guy and then drag him back to her house? I don't get it.
And the doctor taking care of Penelope, why did she totally ignore Mike like that? If nothing else, it was downright rude and creepy.

andy

Thanks, RgvChick, for making me laugh this a.m.

Nina, good call on JP’s girlfriend and life time.

Yay!: Penélope survives, only one scene with Emília. A 2nd Yay! : Bela has renewed her revenge mission, efficiently dispatched Beave Jr. and told JP how it is.

Another fun one!

NiNa, you’re so right about Teresa...freaky woman LOL

Andy, I think Simon is just plain bitter and blames Bella for Felipe’s death. He and Felipa kept criticizing JP for his obsession with Bella and that obsession led them to Culiacan. The thing with the doctor was odd. She may as well have been a wall because Mike sure was talking to one...she would never answer him...maybe she was a deaf mute???

I too loved the title Rgv Chick, as well as this rockin' description:

Tadpole stooopidly gets on top of her and points the BIG gun at her not anticipating that Bella will sock it to him, turn him over, and choke the slime out of him till he is on his way to see his Daddy toad at beav dam.

In addition to dispatching Tadpole, sounds like things are heating up between Bela and Juan Pablo, That's sure to trigger some kind of vengeance scheme of the part of his girlfriend. And are we going to believe that Bela will not be damaged by all the carnage that she in inflicting? Right now the only visible scar is on her leg. What about the scars on her heart and mind?

Don't get me wrong. I love that she's finishing off the bad guys. But there are repercussions, both emotional and physical.

Oh well, I'm in a mellow mood having seen the documentary about Mr. Rogers and his Neighborhood at a movie theatre last night. Brought back memories of my kids watching that show while I tried to get dinner on the table. Mr. Rogers probably would have tried to talk Bela out of what she was planning, but in the end would have said "I love you just the way you are!"

And I loved this recap just the way it is. Thanks Rio Grande Valley Chick.

Loved your recap Rgv Chick. You are fine tuning your amazing recapping skills daily. Just a joy to read.

"Widdo wussy Tadpole" had me laughing out loud :)

"Gloria is helping Emi drown her sorrows with Jose Cuervo". Yes, parenting at its finest.

“She has no peace and doesn’t feel the way she thought she would feel…she doesn’t know if what she is doing is righ”t and “Bella is having doubts about whether she should continue her mission; she is afraid she will end up dead” showed that Balla is struggling with her conscience as well as her own self preservation. She knows what she is doing is wrong and is not deluding herself. To me this shows incredible courage.

"Bella responds that the problem is that JP has a girlfriend and as long as he continues to have a girlfriend, he should keep his lips to himself". Yes sister, tell him. You can't have everything JP, or you will end up with nothing.

This patio totally rocks. I was trying to think of how to phrase what I'm thinking about the way Simon was acting last night. "Why is Simon being such a bitch? He's
Acting jealous. Ok that's whole new tn". Thanks Nina. No need for me to say a word.

"And the doctor taking care of Penelope, why did she totally ignore Mike like that? If nothing else, it was downright rude and creepy". Andy, you mirrored my face exactly. It's one thing to not have a bedside manner, but to pointedly ignore the question was indeed troublesome.

I liked that Mike was so worried about Pena. I thought sure Jr. was going to attack her and very relieved he didn't.

Ironic that Norman's actions in telling Castro's son about Bella resulted in Castro's son's death, as Cstro was the one person on earth he seemed to care about. I do not see a long, healthy life in Norman's future.

This tale is just starting to bloom and I am looking forward to seeing the layers being peeled back as this moves forward.

Rgv Chick, thank you for giving up your precious time to recap this. It is really, really appreciated!

Diana

Our comments crossed Judy.

"Right now the only visible scar is on her leg. What about the scars on her heart and mind?" was perfect.

"Mr. Rogers probably would have tried to talk Bela out of what she was planning, but in the end would have said "I love you just the way you are!" Still smiling.

As I noted, what a great patio.

Diana

"Andy, you mirrored my face exactly"

Geez, guess I need some caffeine.

"thoughts". Sigh. Ack.

Diana

And I missed your comment altogether Jarifa.

"Yay!: Penélope survives, only one scene with Emília. A 2nd Yay! : Bela has renewed her revenge mission, efficiently dispatched Beave Jr. and told JP how it is" said it all.

I better really try and wake up...

Diana

RVG Chick: I see that Castor, Jr., joined the Body Count. Not shocked since he got his ass kicked AGAIN!

Diana, you and me both! I need to get that pot of coffee on before the heat broils my brain. : )

JudyB, thanks for your Mr. Rogers recommend. I had forgotten all about it. Maybe after I see the next Jurassic installment tomorrow.

Woo Hoo RGV. What can I say.? The patio has already said it all. You warned tadpole. Just yesterday you asked if he had already forgotten how she 'whipped his ass'.

And some time ago I warned Teresa that she had better bring her best game now with Bella back in town. Hanging with Pickle and BooHoo aint gonna keep JP with Bella in front of him every---day.

And for the gentler of us on the patio who are more sensitive to blood and guts, wasn't it almost harmless and clinical how Bella sent Tadpole on a family visit. ? Like Tadd Poley just went to sleep in her bed. Nice.

Poor Alicia.How---Many---Years. A Mother's love never dies.

Note to Bella: Tadpole was just a kid. We hopeo you realize how nasty this can get when you have half a dozen adults in the same mindset. Be Careful, and take nothing for granted.

So JP blurting out that he loves Bella didn't exactly rock her world did it? The girl does have her head on straight,

What's not to love notwithstanding a slimy trail of dead people.

RGV Rocks, so does Bella.

I really enjoyed Bella's smug mug as she leaned against the wall while her home surveillance camera video played for the boys. She didn't need to say a word did she?

Tadpole jr was not a kid in my eyes. He had tried to kill bella once already. He was no kid..he was a thug willing to kill and got GOT first. Such as life in the game. Goid practice for her

Nett

Good points Nett:

Seeing how easily Bella defended herself a second time almost made me forget that he tried the first time when she was, to him, a nameless, innocent young girl.

"Good Practice for Her." Totally agree.

Morning Kirby. Somebody is building a nest :) Your blue skies must be just east of Heaven...

"Poor Alicia.How---Many---Years. A Mother's love never dies" was well said.

Sometimes, keeping hope alive (when none exists) is the only wsy we can endure and go on.

Diana

Good Morning, Patio!! Isn't it amazing how so many brilliant minds that think alike have gathered at this patio...birds of a feather??? ...along with Kirby's birds!

Nett, WELCOME!!! You are SO right! Tadpole was definitely not a kid, but he sure thought and acted like one. I could not believe he actually got on top of Bella to kill her. He must have a very bad memory...he totally forgot how he called Bella a wild cat way back when.

Jarifa, "Yay!: Penélope survives, only one scene with Emília. A 2nd Yay!" I think we all have that same sentiment, but doesn't anyone wonder how it is that Penelope was taken so quickly? She has known Mike for much longer than Bella; you'd think she would be more vigilante and ready for battle at any given moment.

Diana, "This tale is just starting to bloom and I am looking forward to seeing the layers being peeled back as this moves forward" You are a master with words! I think all of us are anxiously awaiting each and every episode to come. What a riveting tale we have been graced with...finally!

JudyB, "I love that she's finishing off the bad guys. But there are repercussions, both emotional and physical." Well stated. I think the writers and Esme are doing an awesome job of showing the turmoil Bella is feeling at this point in time.

Steve, yes Castor Jr joined his daddy-o...are we surprised??

Kirby, "wasn't it almost harmless and clinical how Bella sent Tadpole on a family visit. ? Like Tadd Poley just went to sleep in her bed." It did seem quite quick and even effortless...would that be considered a "clean kill?" And, "So JP blurting out that he loves Bella didn't exactly rock her world did it?" No it surely didn't. My question is why didn't Bella question the first kiss...she waited for a second kiss before calling JP on it? How long will it take Bella to reciprocate what JP is feeling?

Kirby: Something tells me Alicia will keep nagging Emanuel before he eventually kills her too.

Steve, I don't know. Every move on Eman's part involves some risk, even whacking Alicia would stand a remote chance of something going wrong and exposing him.

I would think Alicia will be allowed to nag and cry as long as she remains not a real threat to Emanuel. He is a professional criminal, and weighs the cost/benefit of any decision.

Yeah, RGV, you could tell how repulsed Bella was with that first kiss the way she wrapped JP up in her arms like a hurricane was trying to blow her away.

"Bella to reciprocate what JP is feeling?" Probably when she sees Teresa's crying assed backside walking away.

'Move over you two, hand me that Quervo, girls."

Thank you , Chickie, for letting me see the show with my mind's eye.

Well, last day of vaca. No more feeding, changing, and playing with the baby and drawing and playing cards with the five year old for a while. However, they arecoming down to see us next week. It has been cool 70,s and below here, but at home we will be in the 90s all next week.

Pene was taken quickly because he chloroformed her. He came half-prepared. The funny should have saved some of that for Bella, or just shot her from the doorway. What a maroon! But if course, for us it plays better the way it went.

The dummy, not the funny.

Gloria's Sister....Shelley West sang:

Well, it's Sunday mornin' and the sun is shinin'
In my eye that is open and my head is a spinnin'
Was the life of the party, I can't stop grinnin'
I had too much tequila last night

Jose Cuervo, you are a friend of mine
I like to drink you with a little salt and lime
Did I kiss all the cowboys? Did I shoot out the lights?
Did I dance on the bar? Did I start any fights?

Now wait a minute, things don't look too familiar
Who is this cowboy who's sleepin' beside me?
He's awful cute but how'd I get his shirt on?
I had too much tequila last night

Jose Cuervo, you are a friend of mine
I like to drink you with a little salt and lime
Did I kiss all the cowboys? Did I shoot out the lights?
Did I dance on the bar? Did I start any fights?

Steve, I sure hope Eman doesn't go there with Alicia, but we all know he is very capable of anything.

Kirby,"you could tell how repulsed Bella was with that first kiss the way she wrapped JP up in her arms like a hurricane was trying to blow her away." Exactly!! And even during the second kiss, I sure didn't see any repulsion there!

Susy, Prayers for a safe trip back home.

Anon 1:00, good point, but I wonder if the writer's did some research. From what I can find, it takes 5 minutes of inhaling an item soaked in chloroform to render a person unconscious. That would have been plenty of time for Pene to at least try to kick some ass...IMO.

Kirby, I hadn't "heard" that song in a looong time! Thanks for sharing that :-)

BTW, anyone want to take a guess as to how Mike ended up finding Pene? I sure hope Uni isn't slicing scenes...and there is no "Mexican Version" of this that I can find or access, so I just don't know Boo-hoo!

Some of you have not been on the blog line like enough to know Carlos, but he was a great recapper and commenter and a great friend to many. He passed away Wednesday of a heart attack. His wife, whom he always referred to as "the lovely Linda" was at his side. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him well. Truly one of a kind.

Susanlynn, we will be glad when you are home. We miss your thoughtful comments!

RgvChick, thanks for asking that question. I thought I had missed something (I can't always stay glued to my seat riveted to the screen although I't what I'd need and prefer). Does Mike have PeneRadar??? How on earth did he find her...I didn't think she had awakened until he got there.

I'm not really feeling JP and Bella's chemistry. Yet.

Diana

RGV there is a little known, hard to find grade of Chloroform available only to grade 7 and above spies and bad guys that is so strong it is sometimes put into a perfume mister and can knock down a full size gorilla across the room.

Paradoxically it has no effect on the spy or bad guy at the point of release.

OMG Judy, Carlos? Prayers for Lovely Linda.

Oh my God Judy.

I am so very, very sorry. Carlos was a scholar and a gentlemen. He was intelligent, kind and thoughtful. He made everyone feel as though they had something to say and were valued and appreciated.

His sense of humor was marvelous. His recaps were unforgettable. The world has lost an oustanding individual and his family, its heart.

He will be in my prayers.

Diana

I didn't have the privilege of knowing Carlos, but I've heard so many good things about him. My thoughts and prayers to him and his family.

Thanks, JudyB, for letting us know about Carlos’ passing. How very sad.

I will cheer Carlos silently and with great sadness.

Wasn't his drink of choice a Dark and Stormy? So many memories are flooding back. So many wise and wry comments which you could envision him writing, his eyes sparkling. Subtle comments with just a touch of irony. Yet he always took time to acknowledge everyone and with great style and class.

That was his nature.

Our hearts go out to the lovely Linda, his family and his legions of friends

Diana

This from his nephew John

Dr. Judy,

When you think of Carlos; imagine being with a highly intelligent John Wayne, he wore a cowboy hat and boots every day of his life. He was eccentric but in a way you wanted to emulate. God broke the mold once he made my Father and Uncle Charlie.

RgvChick, we are getting this novela first before it is being aired in Mexico so what we are seeing is the only version that exists.

Thank you Judy. It is evident Carlos' family treasured him.

Diana

Here's another great story from John:

Uncle Charlie “Carlos” was exactly as you all saw him. He was one of the most intelligent people I’ve known, even while lying with tubes and needles everywhere, he held on to his dark humor and funny sarcasm. He talked in code with the docs trying to get them to listen to him, my favorite thing he did was asking his cardiologist if he had heard of Sir William Osler, of course his doc said No. Uncle Charlie told him to go look him up. Osler is famous for saying Listen to the patient. He is telling you the diagnosis.
He and my Father did this all my life which was maddening but also intellectually stimulating and I have so many great memories of their ability to communicate and teach with a twist.

John

Judy...so sorry to hear of our dear friend Carlos's passing. I have been worried about him for awhile because I have not seen any comments from him in a long time. When I read your post about him, my daughter said, ",what's the matter?" And I said "My friend Carlos died.," She gave me a strange look when I told her that he was my telenovela blog friend. I have so many good memories of Carlos', s wit and wisdom .We commiserated about the ones who broke our hearts when we were young and innocent. I think the first time I got in trouble was when Carlos and I were exchanging recipes. I will have to order a Dark and Stormy the next time I go out and raise my glass to our dear friend . Sympathy to the lovely Linda and family.

Ah yes, I remember those Recipe Wars. There was somebody on the line who took great umbrage if anyone got off topic, but as I recall, the anonymous person eventually said, Well, if you want recipes, you'll get recipes and posted a slew of them. Carlos thought some of them sounded pretty good. Makes me think of those My Most Unforgettable Character essays in Reader's Digest. Carlos would have made a great subject.

Forever in our hearts.

I'm crying. But I'm also smiling remembering what a great friend and storyteller he was.

As far as Mike finding Pene, the last I saw was his asking a couple of fellows in a taco stand or something and then hightailing it in the direction they indicated. Next time we see him he is with her.

I thought there was enough more pressing things to see that they did like in higher math with the
little triangle of dots and QED. In a complicated solution they leave out the straightforward steps and indicate it with the dot triangle (therefore) and QED Latin whose English translation can be taken as Quite Easily Derived, and skip on down to the tricky parts which have to be seen to be understood.

Judy, I wonder if Carlos was aware that my new tablet likes to refer to you as Nudy? He was watching Outlander and recommended Poldark to me. He told us about his trips to Mexico with the !ove!y Linda. He liked and made pibil. He would mix it up with some folks on the forum, especially the occasional troll. He and I had a debate on whether or not one of his telenovias had been surgically enhanced..I voted yes, he voted no. When I asked what to do about my first cruise, he suggested getting the patch. He loved Gacho .

JudyB, thank you for sharing Carlos’ nephew’s memories.

that was me above trying to do the dot triangle. forgot the semicolon.

JudyB thanks for sharing your memories of your friend with us. Memories are so very priceless. Hold on to them, they keep our
Loved ones close. Very sweet. Love to his
Family and friends in their time of heart break, may they find peace.
Cheers to you carlos🍸🍷🍸🍷

Thanks everybody. It helps to talk about Carlos and share the memories. And Nina, love those little wine emojis.

And yes, Susanlynn, I remember that debate too. I think Vivi joined in as well. In fact I'm pretty sure all the gals thought they were "enhanced" and Carlos, well, he liked playing Devil's Advocate. Who knew what he really thought?

For sure though, he loved Ana Brenda's dimples and I know he watched Amar Sin Ley at the start, even though he was no longer commenting.

Susanlynn: My deepest condolences going out to the family during this difficult time.

Kirby: I had no idea Dr. Carlos was sick.

Judy: I'll miss Carlos' recaps in many TN's.

Yes, I noticed he wasn't around as much the last year or so, then hardly at all recently, but people sort of come and go as their lives allow. I had just always assumed he would resurface as usual when the time was right. I didn't know Carlos nearly as well as many here, but was always drawn to anything he wrote.

Part 1

Bella & JP go to see Pene in the hospital. Simon is still being a little bitch asking tons of questions.and Mike finally puts him in his place. Junior IS actually already dead Simon. Not much need to build a case against him now.

Eman is in Sinaloa in the Hospital where Norman is being held and sends the guard away and sneaks in to see Norm. He is talking to him about being careful who he talks to and roughs him up and rags on him for calling Tadpole. Norm tells Eman that Bella won’t stop until she kills all of them; they need to get rid of her. Eman shouts that he’d better not touch Bella or he will end up in jail for many years. As Eman leaves Norm reminds him that he knows a lot about Eman’s business dealing and all his other crap.

Bella and Mike are at home, and Pene is too and lying on the sofa. Bella and Mike are at the dining table when Bella tells Mike that Norman is still at threat to her. Mike thinks that it will be very difficult to get to him. Bella, however, has an idea.

JP goes home and BooHooEmi is stiiiiillll crying over Felip's pocketbook scratch that, death. Teresa tries to comfort her as JP gets home and tells his mom that he wants to talk to his sis alone. JP tells Emi the pain will not last forever. But it appears the ice cream is making more sense to her.

JP and Teresa talk about his dangerous job. and maybe she shouldn't be with a guy who has so much danger in his life. But that is the job he chose.... (I need to be rid of you so I can put these lips back all over B E L L A.) They kinda break up.

JP goes to Norman's room but he is gone…Norm has already been transferred to Interpol in CDMX.

Bella is lying in bed daydreaming about those kisses she told JP to keep to himself. She wonders how to take THAT back. Oh Well, Pene comes in, crawls into bed with her, and ends that daydream.

Pene is feeling much better and is telling her about Mike. Pene was worried about Mike because he was acting odd. Bella told her not to worry, as Mike is in luuurve...with Pene. Pene told her Mike was waiting for them to talk to them about something important.

Mike talks with both girls concerning how easily Pene was taken and how they will have to be more careful. For the first time since he was in the armed forces, he feels he has a family; and just thinking tha something could happen to them messes him up…so now they are at WAR with the beasts. He has some procedures, first hiding guns in the house; second upgrade security system, and no more unlocked doors.

Bella has a little surprise for them too and shows them for first time the batcave. They lose their minds they are So Impressed. They are looking around like they just saw their first UFO. Mike starts going over the HITS bulletin board and asks Bella who is next. Bella circles Norman’s picture.

Ric and JP meet with Eman to ask about Norman’s quickie transfer. After Eman makes up some sorry excuse and assures them that Norm is heavily guarded, JP tells him he needs to see Norm.

JP goes to Norm and almost smothers him with a pillow and tells him he will pay for all he has done.

Part 2

He also tries to get him to tell him how he killed his father, but Norman denies killing Armando. Remember, Norm actually didn't kill Armie, Eman himself came out on a motorcycle and killed him. JP then tells Norman that when he goes to jail, his cellmates and even the guards will have lots of fun with him…and THAT will be justice. JP even is gouging a bullet wound in Norm's shoulder with his fingers and Norm is screaming in pain but isn't talking. Guy has some will power. Or fear. Or both.

Pilotman calls one of his buddies, Andres, because they need to meet.

Norm tries to tell JP that he is just like his father and that it’s not too late to switch sides…his father would be proud for the first time. JP asks Norm how he killed his father, but Norm denies killing him. JP doesn’t care because Norm did him a favor…JP would probably have ended up killing his own father. When JP brings up Bella, Norma wonders why everyone defends her. JP threatens that if Norm or any of his buddies even get close to Bella, JP will have him extradited to the US. Hmmm one Mexican who DOESN'T want to go to the US?

Pilotman and Andres are having lunch in the car. Andres wants to take out Bella since she killed their boss and his son. Pilotman doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Andres then gets a phone call from Beast Horacio; he has a job for them if they are interested.

Bella talks to Rodrigo and of course he tries again to talk her out of her plan for vengeance. Go talk to a tree, Rod.

JP has another serious talk with Teresa and she asks that JP tell her the real reason he broke up with her and not to use the sorry excuses he already gave her. JP admits that there is someone else. When Tere guesses that it’s Bella, she thinks Emi is right…everything that is happening is Bella’s fault. Meow.

So the henchies have been told to dress up a little and come to see Horacio. They might be needed to replace Castor but he has a little job for them first to see if they can be trusted to do anything they are told.

Eman goes to see Norm next, making sure he kept his mouth shut and to tell him that he will be transferred soon. Norm wants Eman to make sure he doesn’t go to jail, but Eman needs to be careful; he can’t be tied in any way to Norm. Um...would that include killing me? Then I'm safe, Norm must be wondering.

Bella, Mike, and Pene are at Comeback planning their next operation. They have a floor plan and diagrams of the Interpol building. Mike shows them where Norm is being kept and say that they need info on when Norm will be transferred. Bella is the only one that could get that info.

At the federal building, Ric praises JP for his suggestions on how to proceed with Norman. JP finds out that he is in Interpol custody now so JP and Simon think that Norman’s influential buddies are trying to keep him from going to jail.

The Beasts begin getting phone calls and we see each of them arriving for an emergency meeting.

Bella waits at the Interpol lobby to see Eman. A lady brings her tea and she begins to remember her Dad giving her tea and telling her to drink it slowly. Bella also remembers how she told her father that she wanted to learn Tai Kwon Do so she can protect him. He dad tells her not to worry, he will always be with her even after he dies. Eman interrupts her flashback and walks her to his office

Part 3

While she is there, she asks Eman about Norm…is he going to jail? Eman assures her that he is and that Norm will be transferred in 72 hours. Eman then gets a phone call and walks into an adjoining room and Bella puts a bug under a lamp, but then changes her mind and removes it. Hot Dam, a good guy /gurl with a BRAIN, or maybe two as TN good guys go.

JP is home and talking to an Ice Cream eating Emi. He assures her that with time she will feel better.

At the gym, Mike is upset that Bella didn’t plant the bug; so Bella tells him that she just didn’t feel right about spying on her godfather. Oh Bella. She did, however, find out that Norm would be transferred in 72 hours.

The meeting is underway. It seems to be about the fact that Norman is in Interpol custody and there is a chance he will talk, so they need to get rid of him. Beast lady is worried that he is under Interpol protection, but the Senator tells them that shouldn’t be a problem; he has ways to get to him. Yeah Senator, all you gotta do is let your guard down and let Bella find out when he is being transferred. Job Done.

Kirby, thanks for an excellent recap! But you didn't tell me the Big Bad Blonde was in this episode for a whole 15 seconds. Actually, she didn't look all that special tonight. Not bad, just not special. Oh, well, I suppose the bloom is off the rose.

I think we are all pretty much agreed that Norman is a really nice guy, except for that torturing and killing stuff. But he's in a tough situation right now, and everybody is picking on him and threatening him. JP even wants to send him to a US prison! Oh, the horror!

Kirby, "Hmmm one Mexican who DOESN'T want to go to the US?" You're right Kirby, it doesn't make sense. It might for a drug kingpin who could spread enough money around in a Mexican prison that all the guards would take a two hour siesta at the same time, but in the U.S. it would take at least twice as much. Norman doesn't have all that money, and JP just told Norm what he might expect in a Mexican prison. (Because he's so cute??? Really?)

And phooey on Univision, who once again denied me an opportunity to broaden my vocabulary :-)

But our boy Norman, who can really think on his feet, or on his back in this instance, knows what to do. He reminds Eman that he, Norman, knows a lot about Eman's nasty doings. A little implied threat there, and I'm sure Eman will cave since he's such a softie.

Or... it might just be a race to see who gets to Norm first.

andy

Kirby, thanks.

So the bestias might do Bela a favor.

JP being honest and breaking up with his novia was more than I expected.

On we roll!

Andy, Oh I forgot to send your wake up call, but that foot long cigarette kinda put me off. But I was impressed with how much of the front of the Brunette's top was missing without our actually seeing a whole boob.

I had looked up BBB on Google, (on your behalf, of course) and judging from Google's view of her, thought she was going to be some scantily clad bombshell, so I think they purposefully sullied her.

Did you like the fellow in the cranberry suit with the matching paisley socks?

I may need to start recording this show. I was trying to count Beasts last night in their meeting and failed.

"JP being honest and breaking up with his novia was more than I expected." If Bella told Me that about the lips I would be single pretty quick too.

"So the bestias might do Bela a favor." Maybe, or she does them one. In Bellathink, does it count if she is not the one who sends Norm where he wont be lonely?

Thank you, Kirby.

Bela wants Norm dead. Bestias want Norm dead. Eman, I am pretty sure, wants Norm dead. The only one who doesn't want him dead is JP. Exciting moments are coming for him.

Andres is thinking to avenge Castor's death. Why? Because of loyalty to his beloved boss? I mean, taking on a hit job without even being paid. What a charitable soul.

It amused me how Bela responded with "Sí, señor" to Mike's instructions. Pene was like, "Yeh, fine"

Kirby, riddled with wry comments "BooHooEmi is stiiiiillll crying over Felip's pocketbook scratch that, death" and superb details.

There were several events that had me scratching my head. "Eman shouts that he’d better not touch Bella or he will end up in jail for many years". Why? Does the fiercest beast actually have a heart?

It would have been ideal had Bella successfully planted the bug. But I thought that little lamp was way too obvious so glad she pulled it. Too close to Eman's center of activity.

"As Eman leaves Norm reminds him that he knows a lot about Eman’s business dealing and all his other crap". Bewildering threats from someone full of bullet holes who ends up being “carefully” attended to in a storage closet.

"Or... it might just be a race to see who gets to Norm first". I wonder Andy. Also, your question Kirby "In Bellathink, does it count if she is not the one who sends Norm where he wont be lonely?" has me thinking. Great point.

I thought the Beasts looked like a motley crew. The blonde looked haggard and a bit long in the tooth although the brunette showed well. I don't think this would ever be mistaken as a MENSA meeting.

I didn't realize Pena and Mike hadn't seen the batcave. Even Mike looked impressed. Bella is definitely the brains of this show.

Glad Mike is ratcheting up the home security.

I liked that she and Pena were teasing and playful with each other. It's good to have a friend and forget your cares and laugh for a moment. You are only young once and Bella has not had a light moment in a long time.

Jarifa, JP did move in the right direction in terms of the gf. Emi will certainly be delighted when he and Bella become a couple, won't she? She better buy stock in Ben & Jerry's now. :)

Kirby, this was fantastic and of course your avatar, the icing on the cake.

Diana

"It amused me how Bela responded with "Sí, señor" to Mike's instructions. Pene was like, "Yeh, fine".

Glad you mentioned that Lucio. And Bella said it straight faced as though she was really taking orders.

Diana

"Bela responded with "Sí, señor""

I took that to indicate that Bella understands she has enough skills and firepower to get into the Beasts. but with Mike's help she can get back out alive.

NiNa you wondered yesterday why Bella does not sell the house with all the death and memories. I believe the Grand Tour last night should answer that question.

"Yes, I'm looking for a big house, concrete walls, twelve foot tall front door, and a BatCave." " Uh Huh, let's see what MLS has here, Ms Leon."

"Yes, here is one, do you already have financing arranged, this one is pretty pricey."

"No. I'll just kill them all, and move in. Gimme the address."

Thanks Kirby. I think for a while I'm not going to watch this, just read the recaps and comments which are always fun. Did love "BooHooEmi"...certainly one of the most unattractive characters EVER in a telenovela. Whiny and corrupt.

Well glad that Juan Pablo does not seem to suffer from galanparalysis and is definitely opting for Bela. And I wish I could hate Norman more. He's done such dreadful things. But there's something strangely likable about him? Does that make sense?

Anyway have a relaxing Saturday Patio. Heading down later to babysit. Dressing warmly in spite of the heatwave since the young folks keep their air conditioning set to a frosty level.

Good Day, Patio! Finally got home from running errands. Kirby, you get a gold star...fantastic recap!

Andy, "I think we are all pretty much agreed that Norman is a really nice guy, except for that torturing and killing stuff." This guy has two different personas: one is an insecure, loyal friend and the other is a heartless criminal. It's really hard for me to like either one since they both worked for Armando and followed all his orders.

Jarifa, "JP being honest and breaking up with his novia was more than I expected." I was blown over with how quickly he brushed off his novia! But ya gotta hand it to the guy, he is honest and straightforward. I'm finally starting to like him.

Jarifa and Kirby, "So the bestias might do Bela a favor." "Maybe, or she does them one. In Bellathink, does it count if she is not the one who sends Norm where he wont be lonely?" I know Bella has already killed, but I was hoping that she would be so cunning as to get he beasts to go against each other and kill each other off; that way Bella wouldn;t get her hands "dirty." I guess we can;t have everything, tight? Oh well, several of us figured Norm wouldn't be around for long. He is truly a wanted man.Lucio, I agree, "Exciting moments are coming for him."

Diana, "Glad Mike is ratcheting up the home security." It really surprised me that he hadn't done this before given the reason they all came to Mexico. And, "Emi will certainly be delighted when he and Bella become a couple, won't she?" OMGoodness, i dread hearing her shrieks and whiny complaints.

I was really surprised that Horacio expected Eman to attend the meeting...oh but then he is the one that went to visit with Eman to ask him that they continue to be associates. Anywhoo, the beasts know that Eman won't lift a finger to help them, but that Senator guy sure thinks this group is mighty powerful...and that may be a good thing because the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Ric surprised me when he praised JP for conducting himself accordingly; will this be that start of a truce?

JudyB, enjoy the sweet baby...keep warm.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

"I guess we can't have everything, tight?" HUh?? Oh how I wish I could have everything tight, but at my age...fat chance! LOL I'm sure you all figured out that should be "Right."

Deadly Sins in La Bella y Las Bestias

In B&B, there are Seven Beasts plus the Boss Beast Emanuel. Keeping that in mind, there is a Biblical based notion of the Seven Deadly sins; and, interestingly, there is a line of thought that the seven Beasts in B&B represent those seven deadly sins with each Beast being the embodiment of one of the sins, and the Boss Beast Emanuel representing all seven combined in one person.

This take on this show is published on a site called MediaVillage dot com and the article was written by Juan Ayala a couple of weeks ago.

I have researched this idea and have not been able to verify it via a second source, and nothing in the Univision publicity mentions it either explicitly, but the article is well written, and only mentions this in passing; so it is intriguing.

In the famous Wikipedia summary of this show, taken from Univision, I'm sure, each Beast is described in terms of his or her sins against others or depravity, if you will; so to me, this Seven Deadly Sins line of thought makes sense.

It makes enough sense to lure me into trying to match the Sins to the Sinners as we go along.
As I understand it, the SDS are: Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath and Sloth.

If Emanuel is all seven sins, I wonder about gluttony on his skinny frame. Otherwise, he fits the bill and then some with his unexplainable interest in Bella's well-being. He reminds me of someone who is making sure nobody eats that last slice of cheesecake in the fridge.

Just to remind you of the 7 other Beasts, we have:

Armando Quintero, deceased
Big Bad Blonde, otherwise known as Roberta aka “La Madame,” is a shoo in for pride, I assume.
The Senator, Abelardo Zea, whose goal it is to be president (heavy set guy)
Horacio Hernandez, the mayor/president of the delegation (and always has a drink in his hand)
Cristina aka ”La Joyera” (showing as much boobage as she can)
Ignacio Vega aka ”El Cafetero” (cranberry suit guy)
Antonio Jose Ramos aka El Colombiano (preppy looking guy)

I'd like to see who qualifies for sloth.

Anyway, something else to make an interesting complicated show more ...um..well, complicated.

And here is a screenshot of the meeting, but Google wants it to be square and TV screens are not.

Wow, Kirby, that IS interesting! Now I’m even more intrigued by this show. Just the other day, I commented that one of my fav authors is Lawrence Sanders who wrote the “Deadly Sins” series. I’ll be even more captivated by this show now...and to figure out which sin goes with which Beast...I’m totallly excited!. Thanks for sharing that!

Oh and thanks for the screen shot; I was having a hard time figuring who was whom.

You are welcome RGV. That screenshot was the best I could do.

BTW preppy looking guy who we saw briefly talking to some model in a black swimsuit, 'Antonio Jose Ramos', was Emilio in the second Rosario Tejeras and Elkin in 'The Widow of the Mafia' (La Viuda de la Mafia) back in about 2004 if anybody saw either one of those. Great actor in those.

The cranberry suit guy must then be Beast 6, Ignacio Vega. He and Antonio I mentioned above are the only two fellows who are the correct ages.

I mean whose ages match the characters.

Kirby: Norman is likely joining the Body Count because he knows too much.

RGV Chick: The Beasts see Norman as a liability. Not shocked he'll be joining the Body Count soon.

Yes Steve, 'Only the Good Die Young.'

I wonder if he even has any family. :-(

He does find himself in a rather indefensible position.

Severely wounded
Interpol Custody
Knows Mob Secrets---Needs to die to remain quiet
Killed Bella's parents----Not taken lightly by Ms. Bella

So where does vanilla Teresa go now? Does she just melt away and drip out of the bottom of the cone now that
Double Fudge Pistachio Bella is back in Town?

She surely didn't put up much of a fight. Have we seen the last of her?

Is this the thanks she gets for pretending not to be embarrassed for Gloria
and not slapping BooHoo into next week?

Love that image Kirby....”just melt away and drip out of the bottom of the cone.” Wow. And nope, don’t think so. Trouble ahead.
JudyB on iPad

I agree, JudyB, no way is Teresa going to take this without a fight. Ibthinknwe’ll See the real Teresa very soon.

The other person who has shown us a completely different side is Pene. When we first saw her, she was tough and bitter to the max. Now she seems to be this not-so-tough, sweet-natured friend who is craving love and family.

Ack! Writing on phone isn’t the best...but you know what I mean :-)

RGV, maybe Pene found her family with Mike and Bel like Mike is finding his with Bel and Pene away from that orphanage. They called it a Foster home but it is an orphanage, possibly one of the most lonely places on earth.

Now those three have each other, and nobody else it seems, and a kick ass house, and an exciting hobby.

Sorry Norm. No feathers No fame.

Kirby, good point. I guess no one had ever stood up for Pene until Bella got there; that seems to be when the change started.

Mike was trying to remain distant, but those girls have gotten to him. I liked the way he said that the war against the beasts is now official...and I’m so glad Bella didn’t get on her “this is my fight” high horse. The beasts have no idea what’s coming at them.

Wow, Kirby, another amazing pic! You are truly gifted.

Thanks right place right time.

Wow...hope you'll leave that pic up for a while Kirby. I feel very Zen when I look at it. So calming for some reason.

Truly outstanding photo, Kirby.

Kirby, really nice photo!

Scorcher here today in NY, reminds me why I'm not a fan of summer.

:-)

andy

Wow, kirby, that is a spectacular photo. Like Judy, it makes me feel very zen!

Andy,we came home to a heatwave. Looks as though the whole week will be in the 90,s. We got home yesterday. Left at 5am and arrived home at 6.30 pm. (one hour time difference , so we actually left at 4.30 our time. ) Spent the day unpacking, doing the laundry, and mowing lawn. Now out for groceries.

I will finally get to see the show tomorrow night ! I need to get a look at Mike and JP and make a choice !

Have a good Sunday, everybody .

Susanlynn, I need to get a look at Mike and JP and make a choice !

Slim pickings if you ask me. But then I'm not a gurl, so what do I know?

:-)

Andy: If any of you guys have Dish Network, you'll notice that Univision is no longer on your TV sets because of an ongoing contract negotiation dispute between Univision & Dish Network.

Steve: There has been a streamer along the bottom of my Univision programs for around a month or so now proclaiming that there is a negotiation...blah blah...Dish...blah blah blah...long term....

So the magic happened today?

I'm immune. I just have an antenna. But thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, Susy, I don't dislike either one of them immensely, and that is usually an accurate indicator of their appeal to women. Andy may be right.

Kirby: It happened yesterday.

You never know what the cable companies are going to do so I have one tv that I keep on antenna.

"that I keep on antenna."
Smart...very smart.

BREAKING NEWS: LeBron James going to the Los Angeles Lakers.

AMLO is Mexico's 58th President after winning in BIGLY landslide victory.

Thanks, Steve, for keeping us informed.

Happy you are back Susanlynn!

Mike is eye candy and very resourceful. JP emotes a bit more. I like both but it's apples and oranges. Not adverse to either :)

Steve, I can't speak for all the East Coast teams but Celtics fans are relieved LeBron will no longer be an obstacle for the Eastern Conference Finals.

I think this might be my favorite avatar yet Kirby. I don't believe I have ever seen a pelican fly...the backdrop is lush and beautiful.

Well, it's Monday. Please everyone stay cool and hydrated. This heat wave is merciless.

Diana

OT...OT...OT When Pelicans fly...Diana when I first moved to Florida I didn't know much about Pelicans and did not know how they fished. I would see then sailing around in the air over the water all the time.

Then one day I was at some public place and watched as a big Pelican fell from the sky like a ROCK, right into the water. KaSplash ! A little girl nearby was really taken aback, asking her Mom "Mommie, Mommie, what happened to that big bird?".

I didn't know either, (and thankfully kept my big muzzle shut) as that is the way they fish. They cruise over near the water and if there is a fish near the surface, they fold their wings and plunge in beak first and capture the fish in that big bill, which has an expandable 'pouch' of sorts on the bottom. They are swallowed whole. As their snack is being savored, they return to the surface and take flight again.

Happy Monday Patty Oh!

I had no idea they fished like that either! And here was silly me thinking they waded in the water to catch their prey. Nor did I know they swallowed their food "whole".

Something else learned today!

Pelicans vs. herons. Impossible to choose. And then the egrets! Sigh...

Diana

OT: Kirby, "They [fish] are swallowed whole."

Well! That explains why Marlin and Dory were reluctant to jump into Nigel's bill!

:-)

andy

Yup. Makes sense now. :-) :-) :-)

But think about the mechanics of it. They have these big web feet with no actual claws. IE: they can't clutch a limb and perch on it like an Eagle. Thus they can't hold a fish and ..um..disassemble it, so it is all or nothing for waterbirds.

Kirby, your story about pelicans made me think of something that I had not thought about for years. I used to have a silver charm bracelet and one of my charms was a little pelican. You could open the beak to reveal a tiny good fish inside. Who knew that was an authentic representation ! My whole jewelry box was stolen years ago.

Susy, funny. But fairly accurate for jewelry.

Norman: Be nice, you are already penciled in on Steve's LIST.

OT: Herons do the same thing. Here a Big Heron has a nice snack, which he is in the process of turning around to send it down head first.

OT: and seconds later you can see the snack progress about halfway down the neck of Mr. Heron.
See the fish-sized bulge in his neck compared to the previous picture?

Good Day, PatioooH

Very interesting info on pelicans, Kirby, Thanks!

Yup, Norman's days are counted...but who will get him first...the Bella or the Bestias???

Oh boy...that reminds me of when I saw the snake swallowing a frog. Scared the bejesus out of me. That was when we lived in upstate New York around the finger lakes. Verry rural. Back then anyway. 1946

Good Day Ms Chik: Who WILL get him first? Well, Bella seems to have the superior 'Getting' ability, but the Beasts, via Eman actually 'have' him in their clutches, so I vote for the Beasts, but only by a tiny margin.

Might we find out tonight?

Yeah, snakes are in the same boat,.... no hands to hold a knife and fork. So only catch one mouthful at a time.

Yum

Was New York already part of the United States back then NudyB?

And how longgggg does this world cup thing go on? Until every country on Earth has played at least in one game?

Lovely heron.

I agree it will be the beasts (only by a vicious bite :) )

I vote Bella conserve her energy for the next nasty on the list. Do we know who that is??

Diana

Haha! Kirby...yes, New York had already been settled by then, but of course we were living in log cabins! A Miffed NudyB! Please respect your elders.

:-)

Judy and Kirby, you are making me laugh...

Thank you!!

Diana

Thanks

We do what we can, Diana. Mondays are tough!

Yeah, by Monday morning we have usually beat the Friday night episode to death.

RGV Chick: My $$$ is on one of the Bestias whacking Norman.

Kirby: Since I don't have Univision due to DISH being an EXPLETIVE HOLE, keep me posted on what happens this week Ok.

Steve ! OMG too bad. Get an antenna. You are in Texas, right? There are forty-eleven Univision stations around you. You do not even need Dicksh, unless you are waaaay out in the boonies somewhere.
But the recraps will go on, between Ms RGV and Me.
