Caray, Caray!

Hi, all. I finally got to see this episode.

I agree with Judy that the look of this show is unusual. They shoot the characters from a distance and often with the camera pointing up so that you see the ceiling. Very noir and artsy fartsy. QTH???

I could not understand what Em was saying to Emmie, but he visual of smiling , leaning in, and acting like he was actually listening made me want to take a shower. The guy is smarmy. I felt like I should take a shower. Is he trying to seduce this young girl?

It has been a wild ride lately. Hub and I waited at the airport for our daughter and granddaughters for three hours on Wednesday. Storms along the east coast ....they were on the plane....then off...then on...and finally they cancelled the flight, so they had to get a hotel room. So a two hour ride home , and then back again the next morning at 5.30.

Episode 18, Part 1: Hairy Problem

Bella fights off Horacio and tells him that she doesn’t go to bed with a man unless he has won her over. She starts to leave and tells him that she is only an escort…like a friend. After Horace figures she wants to be friends first, Bella tells him that she will go to bed with a man when she decides to.

Emi and Eman are still talking at the restaurant. Eman invites her to go to the club so she can show him her tennis skills. Emi wonders why they’re talking about things from the past; so Eman tells her that it is not his intention to hurt her. Emi tells him that she will not return to the club as a guest; she will return as a member.

Emi and Eman are now parked in front of her house. Emi wants to know if she’s going to get anywhere at Interpol. Eman tells her that there are many possibilities; she could even become an agent. There are two things that Emi doesn’t want: she doesn’t want to be like her brother and she doesn’t want to be a cop.

JP takes his mom’s Jose Cuervo from her. Gloria hears Emi arrive and yells to her. When Emi asks JP if Eman and her dad got along, Gloria tells her that that, yes, they did…they were also associates, but then Gloria tells them that Eman was short and fat, so they know that she’s totally drunk and not making sense.

At the office, JP reminds Simon that Mireya didn’t have boyfriend. Simon tells him that lots of girls hide their boyfriends from their families. JP thinks that the relationship could have been with the mayor, but knows they can’t get any info from the mayor.

JP and Simon arrive at Bella‘s house; so Mike lets them in. Bella hears JP‘s voice and gets all giddy. JP enters her bedroom and looks around. She greets him with a kiss. After JP tells her she looks very pretty; they kiss, but then Bella pushes him away and reminds him he has a girlfriend. JP finally tells her that he is not with Terri anymore…he broke up with her a few days ago (green light goes on for Bella). So they kiss some more and tell each other that they like each other very much. JP uses the “I’ve never felt this about anyone before” line. He wants to be with her. Bella admits that she has been thinking about him very much too.

Downstairs, Pene greets Simon with a kiss. She asks where JP is and they tell her that he is with Bella in her bedroom, but JP and Bella are now coming down the stairs discussing Mireya. When Bella makes a comment that “knowing [the mayor] it wouldn’t surprise her that Mireya had relations with him, JP wonders if she actually knows Horacio. JP then tells Bella that they are there to take her up on her offer…that she get involved with the mayor just as she got involved with Castor.

Horace, Andres and Tobias are discussing how to get rid of the problem with the protestors.

At Eman’s office, Emi tells Eman that she accepts his offer to go to the club…since it’s a place that brings her happy memories.

JP and Bella are talking to Rick about their plan to have Bella get close to the mayor. Ric thinks JP has lost it to even consider involving Bella in an investigation. JP insists that Horace is a criminal and Bella adds that they think he had Mireya killed; so Rick asks if they have proof…of course they have no proof. Rick admonishes their idea and forbids them to continue with it.

Bella and JP are walking outside talking about Ric. JP thinks that if it were up to Ric, he would be in jail paying for his father’s doings. They also know that Ric would never approve of their relationship, but they don’t care who says what.

Andres and Tobias are with Horacio at some school where Horacio is handing out money to the kids. Andres thinks Horacio does this because he came from a humble background, but Tobias thinks Horacio just wants people to like him…I vote Tobias is more on target.
 

Episode 18, Part 2: Hairy Problem

Bella is dressing up when Pene comes in. They have a girl talk. Pene wants to know what’s up with JP; so Bella admits that she likes him…she is always thinking about him and wants to help him. Just then, Bella gets a message from Horacio…he wants to meet with her.

As JP and Simon walk, they are also having a man-to-man talk. JP admits that he is always thinking about Bella; so Simon wants to know when the wedding will be. They get to Mauricio’s house, but Mau hopes they are not there to insist that his sister had a boyfriend.

Bella arrives at Horacio’s house, but Doris tells her he isn’t there. Bella talks Doris into letting her wait for Horacio inside.

Horacio tells Andres that they will go ahead with their plan to take care of “the problem.” So Andres uses an untraceable phone to call Mau. Meanwhile, Mau demands that JP not tarnish his sister’s reputation with his insinuations; so JP shares that the examination showed that Mireya had sex before she died. Just then, Mau gets the call from Andres who is pretending to be some attorney and invites Mau to go give a speech to some high school students since he is such a great leader.

At Horacio’s, Bella makes small talk with Doris. She admires her uniform, but comments that it’s quite short. Doris tells her it’s the uniform the boss provided…and he is the boss.

Horacio, Andres, and Tobias are planning to get rid of Mau. Horacio comments that Mau and his friends will soon be on the missing persons list.

Back at Mau’s house, Mau chides JP and Simon for speaking badly about his sister. As they leave, he tells them to go do their job instead. Just then, Bella calls JP to tell him that she misses him. Mike is listening and tells Pene that Bella is making a big mistake in getting involved with JP…she is putting them all at risk. He continues to listen as Bella tells JP that she thinks Mireya was having sex with Horacio…though it’s just a feeling she has.

Emi and Eman are at the club having dinner. Emi is loving it. When Eman comments that this club is where the movers and shakers of the country gather, Emi thinks that it is also where shaky business is conducted since her father was a member of the club. Eman tries to change her thinking, but Emi continues that these powerful people could also have blood on their hands…and that there are probably some white collar criminals. Eman’s wheels are turning as she speaks…thinking that Emi has good possibilities of being his next pawn.

Horacio arrives at his house to find Bella there. When she flirts with him, he sends off Andres and Tobias. When he tells Bella that he was having doubts about calling her, she tells him she had no doubt that he would call her…she knows what kind of man he is (a filthy %&*^# pig). He makes a pass, but Bella tells him he has a long way to go before she gives in. Just then, JP and Simon arrive. When Andres tells Horacio that JP is there, Horacio tells him that he doesn’t want to see them. As they talk, Mike warns Bella, through the earpiece, that JP and Simon are there and that she shouldn’t let JP see her there. After Horacio comes back to Bella, he tells her that it is a good night to go out somewhere, but doesn’t tell her where they are going.

Outside, JP is still trying to get Andy and Tobi to bring out Horacio…talk to the wall JP! JP finally gives up so he and Simon go park in front of the house…we now have a line of cars staking out the house and NO ONE notices!

At Mau’s house, Lucia talks Mau into going to give the speech…she will even go with him; so he agrees.

As Horacio drives out, JP gets in front of the car and tries to talk to Horacio, but Horacio tells him he won’t talk without his lawyer…while Bella hides her face with her hair. JP gives up. When Horacio takes off, Mike follows and Pene tells him not to lose them since they have no idea where Horacio is taking Bella.

 

Episode 18, Part 3: Hairy Problem

While they drive, Bella asks Horacio why he was being questioned. Horacio tells her that JP is a traitor… he asked for JP’s help in dealing with Mireya’s death. JP just wants him to give a statement, but he is also being difficult to deal with. He then asks her not to speak any more about it…especially when they get to the club.

At the club, Emi thanks Eman for taking her to dinner. When Eman tells her that they can return any time she wants, Emi insists that she will only return when she is a member. Eman then invites her to the bar for drinks. They do a little flirting and Eman tells her he wants to be her friend (with benefits I’m sure).

Outside, Mike tells Bella through the earpiece that once she goes into the club, the reception will be bad; so she will be on her own. Bella makes a big booboo and replies that she will be fine. Horacio notices; so Bella tries to tell him that she is telling him and herself that everything will be fine. In her nervousness, Bella fiddles with her hair and Horacio notices something on her ear and want so to see it!!! OH NOES!!!

 

Hi Susy! Glad you got to see the episode. Yes, Eman did look quite slimy, but I think he was reveling in what Emi was saying and plotting in his devious mind as to how to use her.

The game warden has washed his hands of my problem with the bobcat and handed it over to the city sometime back. Wanna guess what the city has done?? NADA!!

I was getting nervous when Whoracio was getting all handsy with her, wondering if she was packing a gun and thinking her disguise didn't provide THAT many hiding places he would not be interested in. PIG.

Dirty skinny little Emi will deserve everything bad she brings onto herself. Climber, only will go to the club next time as a MEMBER? That's tens of thousands, usually, just to join, not to mention the monthly costs.

It makes sense that Whorace and Eman would both be members at the same club though.

Right at the first, when JP and Simon went to Bela's house and Mike answered the door, it was funny as hell, Mike stood there and pretty much filled the doorway, and when the little popos decided to invite themselves in, he didn't move and made them squirm past him. Simon especially had a tough time getting past, as he is substantially bigger than little JP.

Bela just needs to go ahead and whip out her Glock and pop a cap in his head right there in the car. When they investigate, Andy, Toby and Dory will tell them he was with a hooker from BBB and she will be investigated maybe. And of course, when they describe the hooker, NO ONE would ever guess it could have been Bela.

I wondered about Mike and Pene in their Jeep Cherokee Jalopy out front with the inside light on the whole time.

Things don't look good for Mauricio, but he is partially bringing it on himself. He is pretty much responsible for getting his Sis killed, and he is all high and mighty with JP and Simon too, rather than working with them.

"Wanna guess what the city has done?? NADA!!" Surprise, surprise. Now if it were a code violation because you had the wrong color shutters on your house there would be a friggin SWAT Team on it. At least that is the way it is here. Like the Old Testament, a thousand rules and no mercy.

JP and Emi shouldn’t be so quick to discount drunk mom. Maybe Eman and their dad knew each other from childhood, when Eman was short and fat, before his growth spurt.

Horacio phones a hooker service. The woman who shows up spurns his slimy touches and claims she’s an escort only, but Horacio doesn’t call the hooker service to complain. Clearly, the beast club is not a mensa club.

Kirby, yep, that was funny the way Mike didn't budge out of the doorway and Simon had to squeeze by.

Also funny that JP knows Bella is up to something with the beasts but he never takes a good look at the various slender wigged women he comes across in his investigative path.

Mauricio the social activist leads a youth movement to take down Horacio because he’s a corrupt despot, but doesn’t believe Horacio is corrupt enough to hire pretty live-in maids for the purpose of boinking them. Okay.

Susanlynn, Yay, mission finally accomplished. Maybe your granddaughters saw it all as an adventure?

Okay episode but I am awaiting more action and another bestia meeting his/her maker. Here is hoping this was just a set-up episode.

Good Morning! Thank you everyone for your concern about my "kitty" problem. I may just have to sit outside on a nightly basis and just wait for it to come close enough so I can shoot it. Here's a pic of a nicer kitty named Callie who was "dropped off" a few months ago. ->->->->->

Kirby, while you were getting nervous when WHoracio had his hands all over Bella, I was feeling disgust and wondered how Bella kept from puking all over him. I shudder just thinking about it...blehhh, yuk, pukey, pukey.

Emi sure is asking for trouble and she's gone to the right person. The only thing Eman didn't do was salivate at the thought of how this idiot has fallen right into his grimy hands. But Emi did surprise me though. All this time, I was thinking that Emi was clueless or in denial about her father's dealings. Boy, was I WRONG! She knew exactly what kind of man her father was...and she still wants to follow in his footsteps???? Well, she is definitely going to follow him...to middle earth!

I guess I'm the only one here hoping Emi's redemption. If she's her father's daughter, she ought to get that Eman isn't helping her out of the kindness of his heart or because he thinks she's way smarter than Interpol interns who actually trained for their jobs. Got my fingers crossed that Emi is not into Eman "that" way.

Chickie, thanks for the recap. I showed Hub that photo of touristic , and he thinks that it is too big for a bobcat. Could it be a mountain lion? I cannot believe that you fan OF find some authority to deal with it. In urban areas around here, there are occasional bear and deer sightings which animal control officers handle.Could you complain to local media? Couldn't animal control set a trap?

I really am having trouble getting used to the way this show is being shot. ...The actors are shot from a distance and at odd angles. I agree that Bella',s eye hiding wig would me drive.me. Crazy!!!

Niecie, I was wishing for redemption for Emi, too. in fact, she can still be redeemed if she sees the error in her ways, but the way she is talking, I seriously doubt. You would think that her father"s death...and especially the way he died, would steer her away from his footsteps to a better path, but the way she was talking to Eman, it seemed like she is really looking forward to being a white collar criminal.

Diana, I really hope Horacio is put to burn in hell really soon. And I agree about Mau...he can be gone too. He's a user and a loser.

Susy, one of the times I saw the 'cat,' I was about 30 feet away from it and it jumped from a tree to the ground; I swore it was a cougar, but no one believed it. Now that I have a decent picture, they are at least agreeing that it is a bobcat. Until yesterday, they were saying it was a big feral cat!
 

oooh Disgraceful.I have not been watching that show, but I just might tune in to see her. Is she a bad girl? Not much time lately with the whole family here. We are doing a lot of babysitting, grilling, and lifeguarding. The on!y reason I can post now is because the baby fell asleep on Hub's lap.

Chickie..feral cat??? Sounds like nobody wants to be honest or helpful. Hub once had to shoot a raccoon after our black lab had it in a tree. we thought it might be rabid because it was out in the morning. Do you have any hunters around you who could trap it or shoot it?

Susy, I supposedly have not been watching the Lawyers in Heat show, but sometimes just leave it on after B&B. So I catch bits and pieces, usually with the sound off. It is hard to miss DisGraceful. I think she is a good girl, to replace the Star good Girl Ana Blanda Contrary in season 2.

Just got the trap and it is big. Kirby, I like your suggestions for the cat's future. There are also school districts close by that have cougar/bobcat/lion as their mascot. I could always call them and ask if they want the real thing for their mascot.

Disgrace was also in "Marido en Alquiler" She was a sweet, humble rich girl...and no fire engine lipstick.

Bella Episode 19, part 1

Bella, posing as a hooker sent by BBB, and Whoracio are on a “date”, as she told him she needs to get to know him before she gives up the goods. She is wearing a wire to talk to Mike and Pene and slips up and Whoracio notices it while they are in the car. Her earpiece is, unfortunately in her left ear, toward Whoracio.

Tonight:
Horacio is insistent on knowing what is in her ear, but Bela explains it...she had an accident as a child and is deaf in that ear. It is a hearing aid, and she is very self conscious about it. Mike and Pene start back breathing again in the car. Whoracio apologizes and they go on into the club. So Bel and Hor are in the club now, the same one where Em & Em are getting to know each other. What could go wrong in the only Country Club in CDMX?

Mau and Lucy are talking. Lucy wants to know how Mau got his revolutionary spirit, but Mau explains that it is a desire for equality…nothing to do with being a revolutionary.

Bel and Hor are seated and of course Em & Em walk by so Bel jumps up with her overactive bladder to go to the girl’s room so Em &Em will not see her and then flashbacks to the video, seeing that Eman and Horacio are so buddy buddy, she seems suspicious.

Emi follows her into the bathroom but does not SEEM to recognize her. She innocently makes chit chat about Bela being with an older man. Bela notices Emi is with one too, and Emi says yeah, but he is her boss.

Ric questions JP and Simon as to why they are so insistent on hounding the mayor. JP explains that they just want to ask him some questions since Mireya was his employee. Ric hopes that JP didn’t go through with his idea of getting Bella involved. Ric is even surprised that Bella doesn’t hate JP since his father killed hers. He tells JP to stay away from Bella. Like...Bee..stay away from HONEY.. Those dollar store glasses may make you LOOK smart Ricky, but that's it.

Two days later---

Andres had called Mauricio pretending to be part of the anti Horacio movement and invited Mauricio to speak at a school. Mauricio and Lucy, along with some other students, take the bus to the school. Andy and Toby look on from a balcony as everyone loads into the bus, I assume they are being paid by the head and making a count?

Later, the bus it is stopped at a checkpoint. Before the bus driver gets down from the bus, he releases a sleeping gas on the bus. After a while, the bus driver and the fake guard burn all the bodies for Horacio.

JP and Simon are interrogating Whoracio and ask about his relationship with Mireya, Horacio denies anything improper, as he is a public figure…he shouldn't even have to be responding to these types of questions. JP tells him about her 'test' results and Horacio denies, denies, denies. He is soooo innocent. She was just his maid and he knew very little about her in the six months she was there.

 

Part 2

Bela is at her Fathers grave promising him she will get the people who did this to him. She is talking just as if he is standing there. Sweet. She tells her parents she thought the pain would go away, but it has not at all. She is putting flowers on Mom and Dad's graves. She tells them about JP and that for the first time in her life she is so in luuurve. She wishes they were there to meet JP and give her advice.

Bela sees Emi at Eman's office and is surprised she is working there. She leaves a message for Eman that she needs to talk to him, it is urgent.

Some lady accuses Julian, Mau’s student, of picking up her daughter’s skirt; and incites a mob who beat him to death. It is the student who couldn’t go with them on the bus because he had to study.

Bela is baaaaack at Hor's house in a car, and talks to Dory. She will not let her in as he is not there because there was a big problem at the mayor’s office just now. Horacio had told Bella she was welcome anytime, but Doris still doesn’t let her in.

Hor is on TV giving a speech about the boy who supposedly raped the girl, this will not be tolerated...etc.etc.he is personally outraged, blah, blah....Propaganda, and CYA...Yeah, right PIG.

Then Horace pays A & T, sends them out and rapes Doris. Busy day for the Mayor.

JP is phoning Bel and says they still have zero on the PIG. He uses his office to cover his tracks and uses people to hide his crimes.

OH shit Oh Shit ! ! Horacio calls Bella and Pene answers …....pretending to be a receptionist for the Madame. Hor asks about Bella; so Pene gives him Bella’s fake past. She talks to the PIG and Mike walks in as she is hanging up. Quick thinking Pene you earned your meals this week.

Horacio is at home and can't find Doris. He tells Andres & Toby to look for her as she may have run away. Hor has sent A&T out to find her but the cops find her first; and she is visibly very upset. They ask if they can help her, but she just looks at them.

JP and Simon are in the morgue with the dead kid Julian and discuss how he was killed for the flimsiest of reasons. Very suspicious they think.
JP and Simon are next in with RIC talking about Mauricio and Lucy being suddenly missing too.
They think all this is connected to Horacio, but still no proof. Arrrghhh

By some trick of the devil, Doris is miraculously back at the HorHouse looking quite composed, but rigid and scared. Later, Hor goes to her bedroom and tells her that what happened was mutual, right?..right? and gives her a big wad of dirty money and tells her she can NOT tell anyone about this. She quietly agrees, remembering how badly her family needs the salary she 'earns'.

Bel, Mike, and Pene are reading the news about the disappearances and Bella thinks it must be connected to Horacio. Mike and Pene want to just kill him, as does ViewerVille to a man, woman and goat, but Bela wants him to suffer. Bel..Please with Stevia on it?

JP and Simon bring in Andres and Toby for questioning, but they “Know Nothing”, of course.
After Simon grabs and kicks Andres, JP forcefully 'reminds' Tobias what happened to Felipe when he wouldn't answer questions. He could not even choke a functioning memory into him. A nice kick in the ribs was just a bonus for the patio..

Thanks, Kirby. Last night's was the grimmest. The innocent students killed on the bus mirrors the 43 college students who "disappeared" in Mexico four years ago, which is now under investigation by a "truth commission" after failed, corrupted investigations. Not sure what the ultimate message of Bella will be -- forget law enforcement and exact your own vigilante justice?

Bella needs to trust JP. All of this is way beyond her crew's resources and she needs help.

Doris's return was odd. I'm hoping she's hatched a plan of her own.

Simon's excessive force on Andres was dumb in my opinion, but maybe he and JP are working a good cop/bad cop plan.

Someone made the comment earlier that Horacio is worse than Castor. I tend to agree, but then I think about how it was mentioned that Castor would pay for sex and if the women resisted he would forcefully take them...so maybe they are about the same...with the exception that Horacio is in such a powerful position and uses it to his advantage...and there was never a hint that Castor killed or hurt a wife. OK, I change my mind...Horacio IS worse.

The only setback would be that JP may limit what BElla wants to do to make sure she is reasonably within the law. I think there will be problems with them is they catch one of the beasts...JP will try to convince Bella to let them rot in jail and that is something she does not want. I also agreethat the one bright light was that Bella's spidey sense kicked in, but will she keep that thought. or will she convince herself to discard it? I do hope it's the former.

This show is even disturbing to me. If anyone saw the shooting scene in PASL (Lawyers in Heat and Dead) it seems a lot of the TNs are getting bloody waaay past just simple killing for the plot.

And I don't understand why.

It is a forgone conclusion that everyday life in Mexico is far more dangerous and brutal than most of us are accustomed to seeing, so maybe the TNs are trying to let people know how bad it really is.

I hopeo there is a pleasant reason we have not heard from RGV today. Like sleeping, gift certificate to the spa, Texas Lottery, or PBS crew on scene filming 'Woman's donation of Mountain Lion with an attitude to Dallas Zoo.'
 

Sleeping gift certificate would be awesome! But no, just a morning of many chores and errands :-)
 

Kirby, IMO I think the overt and graphic violence is just a (sad) sign of the times. So many successful shows on cable (Walking Dead and Game of Thrones for two ) and even broadcast networks these days are so far over the top in terms of violence that It has become closer to the norm than not.
 

Horacio and the little maid, even with my knowing it is 'Just a Show', still made my blood boil, and the boy reminded me of documentaries of clubbing fur seals, which has been internationally stopped supposedly, because of the brutality.

After the show last night typing away, my stomach was in knots. I am with Mike and Pene, "Just kill him already. To hell with your satisfaction of making him suffer, that borders on selfish." Stop him before he can kill, club to death or rape anyone else.
 

Kirby, thanks much for an excellent recap of a downer of an episode.

It's not all fun and games in this TN. I can see that it is somewhat necessary as the plot is about "good guys" going around deliberately killing people, but I wish it were a little more like 'Mission Impossible' or 'Ocean's Eleven' and a little less like 'The Saint Valentine's Day Massacre'.

Chickie, what are you baiting your trap with? I have no experience with big cats, nor do I want any, but I know that the scent of canned tuna works every time with smaller cats. Or even just the sound of the can opener. But your intruder no doubt prefers his/her food "fresh".

Kirby, I hadn't thought of that, but you make an excellent point. Horacio is responsible for a lot of deaths and there may be more coming. Doing away with him sooner rather than later could save innocent lives.

Ric is the director of what is comparable to the FBI. He is supposed to be quite experienced, so why is he dragging his feet? He can’t be that naive to believe that politicians won’t cross the line. Or is he being swayed by “friendships?” He is a hard one to figure out.

Jarifa, I agree with you about violence in tv and in the movies. I stopped watching Game of Thrones because it was just non-stop brutality. I have never watched any of the Walking Dead shows and do not intend to. There is enough violence on the news.

Hey guys, checking in. Can't even read the recaps. Too brutal. But still love you all to pieces. Gorgeous day here. Walked down by the river and it was splendid. Even did some yard work and I HATE yard work. But it was so nice you just wanted to be outside.

Did read the comments and agree with everyone, the finale of Por Amar Sin Ley was disgustingly brutal and bloody. And I had just been to a heart wrenching funeral for a little baby boy just 4 days old who died in his mother's arms. The funeral had to be delayed because this poor heartbroken mom could not bear to let him go and let the coffin lid be closed. When you witness that kind of grief it just seeps into your bones.

Death is not entertainment. Violent brutal death is, to me, the worst kind of pornography. And we are becoming de-sensitized to it as we watch these programs I fear.

Okay, rant over. Just needed to vent. Sorry.
 

Judy, I believe the brutality in Television shows is a reflection of how decadent, selfish and brutal our society, and humanity in general, has become. In the past political or religious differences were cordially agreed to disagree. Now in our modern world, those same genteel differences of opinion are grounds for shootings and bombings.

Simply driving across town in traffic is an exercise in realizing how rude, and obnoxious segments of society have become. Like, 'Every man for himself, screw you, get out of my way." Generosity and courtesy are generally a thing of the past.

Rant NOT over, but that's enough for now.

Good Day, Everyone. ITA agree with the comments about violence and selfishness in the world. It has been around for thousands of years, but it is so much more prevalent and reported nowadays. Media coverage is outrageously graphic and the current shows such as Criminal Minds, NCIS etc..and now these TNs, are just a few the depict how twisted and deviant people can be. Truly sad and frightening. I can tolerate this show because the violence hasn't been as graphic as others I have seen and just tuned out of.

Predator Update: the darned thing is a picky eater. I baited the trap with some left over (cooked) chicken, but it prefers fresh off the trees chicken. Fortunately, last night I got out there with shot gun in hand before it took anything. As some of you have guessed. there is NO WAY I am going to bait the trap with a live chicken :-) If at first you don't succeed, try, try again...and I will!

We live in a rural area where people tend to help their neighbors. The gas station up the street was robbed recent!y , and a fast thinking mechanic fo!lowed the robber and got the license plate number.The police arrested the guy quick!y.Now, a friend of ours usually drops by at night to check on the teen clerk at the gas station mini mart.

Good Morning Poultry Patio. No news is good news I assume. The world is watching Thailand with good reason. How they managed to get themselves two and a half mikes into this mess is a mystery, but the prognosis is good right now.
 

It is good news. I like the way that the Thai government has handled the whole thing in such a well-paced and methodical manner and at the same time have protected the boys’ and their families’ privacy.
 

Nina, I know nature can be very cruel. I didn't know that chimps engaged in that behavior. I guess I think every chimp is like Koko, sweet and smart.

And yes, Horacio was behind the gassing on the bus.

Now If we could have more stories of heroism, compassion and selflessness in the news, things wouldn't look so bleak and depressing. BUT we do have a patio that we can count on to lift our spirits and show that there are so many more good people than bad...JudyB caring for her granddaughter and providing comfort for loved ones lost, Susy showing so much love and support for her daughters and granddaughters, Kirby "adopting" children, Diana caring for her husband despite working long hours...those are just a few examples....so many good people to share with!

Glad to hear Rgv Chick's chicks made it through the night safely. And thrilled to hear that a few more of the boys have been brought to safety by experienced divers. The logistics of this operation, and the dangers of the exit were really daunting. And of course one Tibetan Navy Seal diver did perish.

Have to correct one thing...my little guy here in town is very much a boy. Li'l Will (as Carlos dubbed him) is all boy. Happily pounds on his tray like Kruschev when he wants more food (with a smile, but still....)and erupts into gales of laughter when his dad pretends to be walloped if Will hits him on the swing. No little princess I'm afraid. Maybe next time!
 

PS Love your latest little kitty Rgv Chick. You are foster mom to so many, a rescuer with a big heart.
