**A new telenovela, Falco, began this week on Sunday, July 22. It will be shown every Sunday at 9 PM (EDT). Here is the information novelera provided on last week's 2nd Telemundo y Más page: "[Falco will star] Michel Brown, an Argentinian actor who is most famous for Pasión de Gavilanes. After 22 years of being in a coma, Falco wakes up. He goes back to the only thing that's left - his work as a police inspector - to try and learn what happened to him, and regain what he can of his life and family." Telemundo's website offers several short videos about the novela. Also, if you missed seeing the episode on Sunday, no problem: Telemundo has made it available for viewing on the website. (This will very likely be true for each episode.)

Hilda coaxes perro Carlos, remember me, I think he does, a tear, but he flips and a straight jacket appears, they carry him away.
Dayana flounces into the hospital, tells mom she is moving out, she has a boyfriend, but didn't mention her family, he's a narco.
Soraya is waiting for a guy, he's on his way, with a hangover I think.
Albeiro tells Santi, Cata G deserves to be happy with a good man by her side, you are that man.
Cata M and Dayana clash, Cata isn't giving up the crown, Dayana warns to respect her.
Santi rushes home looking for Soraya, Mateos lies, he finds the nurses uniform and other things, Mateos fesses up, Cata G calls Santi, calls him on his lie, yep.
Sandra meets Albeiro, she's drooling again.
the Colonel tells Daniel and Ximena, the Lucia case is hopeless.
Diabla Chats with her cellmate, yep, confesses she is a narco.
Villa gets word of Diabla's capture, he and Titi celebrate.
Dayana and Liset clash as she is being released, Dayana counters that she loves her, she paid the bill didn't she.
Santi meets up with Cata G, she accuses him of playing her, Santi doesn't want to lose her, he tells of Soraya, is Mariana in danger, they go check.
2 hours later Soraya's old boyfriend Rocco shows, she wants a gun, he has one, and a real one too, she drools over it, they leave for his ranch so he can show her how to use it.
Hernan is with the baby, Cata G explains they are moving to Miami, he doesn't have a visa to visit, Mariana throws out her plan, nope, he is not marrying her, then take a good look because you will never see us again.
Cata M goes in for the DNA results as Al waits at the curb, they give the nurse the number of the test but she seems to be stalling.
Hernan figures he can't get a visa because of the illegal things he's done, Santi offers to help.
Soraya arrives at Roccoland, his country house, he dumps out a case of hand guns to practice with.
Hilda and Jota confer with the doc, this is a strange case he says, sometimes he is lucid and others he is a dog, he is sedated now, it will take time, Hilda knows the importance of family from her time with amnesia, they will come back tomorrow.
Diabla talks of Dani, how she got her into the business and now she is dead, her cellmate says she is pregnant, I don't want my baby to be born in prison, she says.
Cata M finally gets the DNA results, but can't open them, gives them to Sandra, she looks and her face drops, Hernan is the father, right? Cata asks.

I used to think well of Sandra, but lately I've had my doubts. All she seems able to do is drool over any male near CataM, be it Gabriel or even her father, Albeiro. (Admittedly, he's a hunk, but he's quite literally old enough to be Sandra's father.)
Well, I take it as a good sign that the Colonel tells Daniel there's no hope for Lucia. My guess/hope is that that means she'll survive.
I was glad to see that Liset doesn't fall for Dayana's profession of concern. In no uncertain terms she tells Dayana to get lost or else she'll report her to the police as a proxeneta.
After reading your recap, I went back and looked again at the end of the novela. I had thought that Sandra had told CataM that Hernan is the baby's father. You rightly pointed out that it was CataM who is speaking, and her statement that Hernan is the father is really a question. So I guess we still don't know. (Of course, there's also the strange behavior of the nurse or clerk or whoever, who seems to stall when asked for the results. I'm not sure whether her behavior is significant or just a way to confuse us.)

Thanks, Jarifa, for this info. Now I see why Telemundo put it on Sundays rather than in a regular evening time slot. It's not that they were burying it, there simply weren't nearly enough episodes for the usual telenovela run. And I agree: 14 or 15 episodes seems quite manageable, as does the once-a-week format.

Many thanks yet again, deb. I enjoyed your recap, but I'm afraid I really didn't enjoy the episode. I know that Daniel and Ximena have suffered (or MAY have suffered) terrible losses, but frankly two days of Daniel's moaning and crying just made me less sympathetic rather than more. I was sorely tempted to FF through all the scenes between the two of them. I half expected that one or both of them would accidentally fall off the cliff (he came close to doing so), or they'd have a car accident because Daniel was totally blotto.
I also wanted to FF through any scene in which Jota appears.
Madwoman Soraya turns out to be a skilled marksman. Rocco was supposedly teaching her how to shoot, but she didn't seem to need his instructions. I'm not really looking forward to watching her stalk and try to kill CataG. Though perhaps she'll get stuck in an assassin traffic jam with Villa (who has agreed to Dayana's request that he kill CataG) and Martin.
At last we finally got the DNA results. Surprise, surprise, Hernan isn't the baby's father. Duh. An ecstatic CataM tells Albeiro. He tries to get her to tone down her over-the-top delight before she breaks the news to Hernan. Albeiro thinks about how Hernan will feel. Though CataM is supposedly in love with Hernan, she doesn't seem in the least interested in how Hernan will feel.
Tomorrow's episode should be more interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing the scene between Hernan and Mariana when he confronts her with the DNA results. Villa's plan to kill Diabla may also be interesting.

There's also the possibility of something that I've seen quite a few times in other TNs. Somebody with money and or influence bribes a lab to fake DNA results so that someone thinks a baby is theirs. They already brought up Hernán asking for a second test. But I don't think Mariana is as clever as the usual villanas who pull this off, nor does she seem to have lots of disposable income.

Daniel and Ximena continue their drinking marathon.
Al is not into Hilda's ex moving in, she pleads about breaking the curse.
Dan and Ximena try cooking some eggs.
Mariana plays the virgin card, Hernan isn't buying any diversions.
Santi arrives back home as Hernan is leaving, Cata G herds them into the sala for a talk, Hernan hands doc Santi the DNA proof, ut oh, hmm, Cata M had the test done, hmm, they all want another test to be sure.

This episode had more discussion about God than has been the case lately. First we have Dan tell Ximena that God is unjust and life is unfair. Looks like the episode supported what he said. I enjoyed watching Mariana throw a tantrum and claim to be the injured party when Hernan shows her the DNA report. I guess she thinks the best defense (or perhaps in her case the only defense) is a strong offense. If one can call a temper tantrum a strong offense.

This episode had more discussion about God than has been the case lately. First we have Dan tell Ximena that God is unjust and life is unfair. Looks like the episode supported what he said. Also, I hope they don't drag the Mariana issue for long. I hope she'll just get tired and tell the truth(of Hernan not being the father) But I do not see her telling who the real dad is.
Poor Mateo. Maybe he should just go live with CataG familia perfecta(thanks Deb) I remember CataG rubbing her perfect family on Diabla's face when she caught her in season 2. Saying that she has a great hubby and 3 kids. And told Diabla to try get to that level since she has always been jealous of her.

I was certainly relieved that Hernán Darío hung tough and didn’t buy Mariana’s crap. AND, mercifully, her parents didn’t jump to her defense. Santiago, in particular, gave her very skeptical looks during the whole thing. I loved it when CataG called her on her crap. Like a 10-year-old she threatened to run away from home, taking the baby. CataG just told her to go ahead.
I am frankly amazed that Mariana, a wonder of selfishness, does appear to love her baby. I’d expect her to have insisted on her parents paying for wall-to-wall nannies so she’d have more time to chase Hernán.
They BETTER not go with everyone thinking this whole DNA thing was just an evil plot by CataM!
I was NOT moved by the fire. The writers have taken a fairly heroic and intelligent character and turned Daniel into a mess. I suppose, when he wakes up, he’ll wail for a few episodes about his bottles of whiskey causing Ximena’s death.

I'm not 100% convinced that Ximena is dead, I know they zipped up a body, but it could have been one of the firefighters trying to rescue her when there was that explosion. Yes, she probably is dead, but I always look for more proof in these shows. For that matter, we don't know that Daniel survived (but I do think he did).
Going along with not seeing bodies yet, I still think Valentina is alive (and Lucia).
