sin-senos3 #28

Diabla's room mate is a fiscal accused of providing false information, or something, Yessica is of course innocent of everything.

Daniel arrives and jumps on the Colonel, remembers his mother, but keeps the Colonel working on the case.

Hilda and all find out Carlos went crazy, acts like a dog, is in the local manicomio, Laura is in the mountains somewhere reading fortunes and practicing blackmagic, Carlos is the only link to her, hmm, Manuel's solution, "Love Vanquishes Evil", get Carlos out, take him home and give him lots of love, hmm, but what will Albeiro say.

Titi, Villa, and clinging Dayana party, Villa is leaving for Mexico tomorrow, Dayana will manage his business here, as Titi's face twists.

Manuel tells Hilda not to stay in the hotel next to the church, but won't say why, "it's better if you don't try to figure it out".

Daniel and Ximena go to find his mom, almost robbed they are saved by Aurora's right hand man, Derecho, oh by the way your mom died.

Cata G's family is floating in bliss, Santi is spending the night with her.

Daniel reads through an emotional letter his mom left him.

what?, did Hilda and all go straight to that scary hotel, Jota doesn't want to stay, Hilda tells him not to be a coward, he is the only man here, after a vote, Nanita, the baby, breaks the tie and they leave.

Albeiro calls Hilda and tells her he'll be out tomorrow he'll come help her, she doesn't think that will be a good idea.

Daniel has Derecho take him and Ximena to the cemetary, even though it's closed, Daniel falls on his mothers grave and cries, etc.

Titi is upset over Villa cutting him out, Villa laughs, it's a joke, but someday Deminia will be bigger than Diabla, are those two giant horns for her head.

as Cata G and Santi kiss, Soraya's eyes pop open, and Albeiro is up and restless, they do it, Soraya and Albeiro both call, Cata G shrugs off Albeiro's, Santi answers Soraya's, she says, "you ruined me", he tells her not to hurt herself (that should work), and does, she says she will hit him where it hurts the most.

the Colonel has a video of Martin driving off with Lucia, but only a partial on the license plate.

sin-senos3

Thanks once again, deb, for a very helpful recap.

Wow, if Carlos weren't already crazy, that dreadful manicomio would certainly make him so.

Looks as if neither Hilda nor CataG will be eager to have Albeiro stay with them after the hospital releases him.

So Santi promises CataG that he's totally through with Soraya, but when she calls quite late, even though he's in bed with CataG, he answers Soraya's call. Feh. And now it looks as if Soraya's going to add herself to the crazies who are threatening the lives of CataG and her family.

I realize that crime-fighting technology may not be as advanced in Colombia as it is in the US, but I would have thought the tech didn't have to be all that advanced to blow up the shot of Martin's car. At one point, as the car is turning, we see the back of the car, including what I think is the license plate. It's not legible on my TV screen, but I'm sure that the technology exists to blow up that view and get the whole plate #. Moreover, even with just a partial number, I would imagine that it wouldn't be all that hard to find the car. It's a pretty distinctive and unusual color, especially for that model.

Sin Senos

Was that a picture of the 5 girls I saw in Laura's "house"? And she has lit candles near it? Are the candles supposed to keep the curse going?

Poor Daniel. What is he going to do now? Or maybe the gang can still help her since they respected his mum. But the police also made a little progress.

Hilda, now she does not only love a man who is in love with her daughter, but she also has to live with a crazy/cursed man in HER house. And that same man who is in need of love left her for a bruja who left him in the state he is in now.

Yes, Manuel is old, but why is he sleeping all the time. And on that chair. Doesn't he have a bed? Does he even eat at all?

sin-senos3

Thought I'd add something I recently learned. Long after this show is over, apparently people try to find recaps on the Caray Caray site. When LXV and Juanita, and now myself as well, put up a page, we add something called a "label" each time.

So, what I have at the top of this post and what deb uses for her recaps as well is the correct "label" for Sin Senos. So, if you'd like your golden prose to be discovered by a future person who is perhaps watching the show in another country or on DVD's, downloaded, etc., my understanding is that it's appropriate to use what I have at the top: the correct label. Juanita, chime in and correct me if I've got this wrong.

I am still massively confused about the ages and generations in this thing. So Abigaíl is a contemporary of Hilda, even though she looked like an 80-year old when Yésica shot her? And Abigaíl bewitched Carlos, because she was hot for him, into leaving Hilda?

And, further, was Abigaíl Carlos' first wife and the mother of Laura? If Abigaíl is Laura's mother, why did she let Carlos leave with her child and marry Hilda? Because from the flashback it appeared that Hilda took on his child and then had two of her own.

Last, but not least, thanks again to deb for another fine recap!

general/labels:

I'll try not to make this too technical, but the short answer is that it's only the labels attached to the posts that make a difference--the ones that are underlined in blue. Click one and it will show you every post with that label.

However, putting a heading on your comment does not have that effect. It's only useful to other people reading. So it doesn't have to match the one underlined in blue. You could use senos, sin senos, senos 3, whatever, capitalized or not so someone can find, for example all the comments about Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraiso that are in a particular post.

Another example. On this post you have the label "exatlon," but nobody has talked about Exatlón, so all there is to find is the actual post. There are no comments about Exatlón so someone scrolling down and looking at the first words of comments might be moved to ask "Hey, is anybody else watching Exatlón?"

Last example. Let's say that before Monday, someone shares news about an upcoming show, like La Reina del Sur 2. Because that's not an "official" topic of this post (not underlined in blue) there wouldn't be anything to click on to see all the posts about La Reina del Sur 2. But a person scrolling down would see Reina, or Reina 2, or upcoming.

I don't know if that makes any sense. The main point is that exactly matching the show's official label on the comments is not necessary as far as Blogger is concerned. But if it's necessary as far as novelera and Juanita are concerned, that's another matter.

General/Labels

Thanks so much, Kat, for the very clear explanation. And apologies to other commenters for incorrectly asking you to do something that is NOT necessary. As a newby to putting up pages, I apparently misunderstood a part of the instructions.

sin-senos3

novelera, Abigail was Carlos first wife, Laura was their daughter, don't know why he left her other than the obvious, yikes!

not sure if he actually left Hilda, Laura left because of the voodoo the girls put on her cutting and burning her hair, Carlos returned her to Abigail, but kept his distance, and then left.

yes, after Hilda tied in with Carlos and Laura, they had 2 kids, Cata G and Bayron (dead).

Hilda is there now to find the answers, to our questions.

general/labels

Thanks very much, Kat, for clarifying the way the labels work. I was under the apparently mistaken impression that the labels that people put on their postings were how the search mechanism found posts about a specific novela. And that's what I told novelera. I have no memory of who told it to me several years ago. But I'm happy to know that the labels people put on their posts are not how the search mechanism identifies what the posting is about.

I confess that I'm also a bit surprised, since most search mechanisms are usually quite limited in what they "understand." So if the label the poster uses isn't what the search mechanism looks for, how does it tell which novela that posting is about? A name like "Carlos" or "Maria" isn't likely to differentiate one novela from another. Nor are plot words such as pregnant, secret, betrayal, miscarriage, wedding, immigrant, or love of his life :-).

Anyway, the bottom line for postings on the Telemundo y Más pages is that people should put at the top a word or two indicating which novela the posting is about. That's still VERY important for all of us, since the TyM pages usually have postings about more than one novela. Having a word or two at the top helps us find other postings about that novela and skip over postings about novelas in which we have no interest.

general/labels

Juanita It only looks for the labels that end up underlined in blue. I went through once and made sure I added them to the oldest posts because for a long time it was just "Telemundo" which wasn't helpful for the humans. So, it knows this post's topic is Exatlón, Sin Senos season 3, El Señor season 11 billion because you and novelera have told it so.

general/labels

Kat, so are you saying that the search mechanism will simply identify Telemundo y Más pages that have the right blue labels, rather than identifying specific postings within the page? I guess that would make a lot of sense. [light bulb goes on above Juanita's head]

¡Muchísimas gracias!

sin-senos3

This was an episode with little action, and many ridiculous rules being explained. Such as don't sleep in the hotel near the church, you have to not only be nice to a guy who thinks he's a dog, but take him home, and then he'll tell you where his daughter is, so (maybe) you can break the "curse". Sure, makes perfect sense.

Yes, I agree Carlos probably left Abigail for Hilda because Abi was a weird looking witch, and Hilda was (and still is, as a great-grandmother) beautiful. I don't think it's fair that Hilda has to lie to Carlos to save him. Yes, love should triumph over evil, but making Hilda lie about it doesn't seem like the pure, good, correct way to go. Although maybe they're hinting that Hilda really DOES love Carlos, that's her real great love, and in the end, if Albeiro ends up with CataG, Hilda could end up with (a totally reformed) Carlos. Sure, makes perfect sense.

As for the police not doing too good a job, I often criticize the telenovela police. But in real life, in my city, there are 2 major murders that have shocked everyone, and the real police have no idea what happened in either case (one is about a year old). It's actually very hard to solve crimes, although in some American cop shows, it seems pretty easy, with all the modern technology they have. So this time I'm giving the Colonel a pass (but not Miguel, who is as stupid as dirt).

Is it finally day 3 of the DNA test? Will Hernan discover the letter from Gabriel in CataM's bag? Will Soraya just be able to walk out of the hospital, disconnecting everything that was hooked up to monitors w/o the staff noticing? Curious minds want to know.

sin-senos3 #29

it's morning

Paola is thinking of Titi, who killed her daughter, Hilda wakes and asks Paola if she slept at all, nope, Hilda comforts her, they get ready for the day, Hilda goes to brush her teeth but the water in the sink looks like blood. (and this is the good hotel?)

the nurse discovers their psychiatric patient has escaped, nurse Soraya hails a cab.

the lovebirds awake, Cata G and Santi, all is well, they go to see Mariana, they are going back home, Cata G has a plan, (ut oh) and soon to Miami, wait, Mariana isn't going without Hernan, Santi gets a call on Soraya, but says he has to leave to see Mateos who is alone, Cata G knows different.

Cata M is off the get the DNA results, won't spill for suspicios Hernan, drops him off and picks up Sandra.

Daniel has spent the night drinking (and it's well past dinner time) Ximena rescues him, talks about her one love, Cata G's brother Bayron, she didn't succumb to drink because he wouldn't have wanted her too, cheers to that Daniel goes, you are a verraca (bad ass in the english caps).

Hilda and her entourage arrive at the manicomio, oops, you need to call ahead, she asks for Carlos Jaramillo (hmm, same last name as Titi), the dog?, the nurse will help, but only 2 can see him at a time.

Soraya arrives home, Mateo is full of questions, Soraya makes him promise not to tell Santi he has seen her, she changes clothes, grabs their money, hops in the car and is gone.

Santi arrives at the hospital, the doc paints a bad picture of Soraya, she needs meds/treatment (chains).

Hilda and Jota are on their way to see the dog, I guess he marks his territory, bites people alot and asks to be this way when he is lucid, here Carlos, here Carlos, oh there he is sniffing Hilda's... legs.

Hernan arrives to see his baby, Mari has something important to tell him.

Santi drops by to give Albeiro the good news, he and Cata are back together, (gee thanks), but Soraya escaped and is dangerous, will she hurt Cata G, Albeiro wants to know.

Santi asks a personal question, are you still in love with Hilda? Alberio answers his real question, how Cata G is and will be the love of his life, and Cata G told him the same, (how does that sound Santi) but Hilda is his reality, stuck with him through thick and thin for 20 years.

Villa tells Demonia to go home and get her things, he's giving her the house, and wonders what's up with Titi, who doesn't trust her, she liked girls and now... she's like a virgin Villa says, she just needed a real man, Titi scoffs.

remember me, Hilda asks perro Carlos, but a lady grabs his leash and pulls him back, he's my dog.

sin-senos3

Excellent recap, deb. Many thanks. Loved your "she needs meds/treatment (chains)."

Santi is really starting to get on my nerves. I think it's partly his mierda-eating grin. He reminds me of someone in a toothpaste commercial showing off his pearly whites. I'm also finding him increasingly unlikeable. He lies to CataG (supposedly the love of his life) and Mariana about where he's going (to see the not-yet-in-chains-but-we-can-hope Soraya). He visits Albeiro (I suspect his primary motivation for the visit is to gloat about getting back with CataG) and tells Albeiro that Soraya is dangerous. Albeiro asks whether he has told this to CataG. Duh, gee, ya think I should?

Is it true that this season's SS will have only 40 episodes? If so, that leaves only 11 to go. But no "coming pronto" trailer has been shown.

You raised an interesting point about Carlos and Titi having the same last name. Is this something that was explained in an earlier season, or a Revelation about to occur?

I realize that Hernan isn't giving "his" daughter very expensive gifts, but he seems to bring a bunch of gifts every day. Even so many inexpensive gifts add up. Where does his money come from? I wonder whether the gifts will stop once he learns he's not the baby's father. (At least, I hope that's what he'll learn.)

sin-seno3

thanks Juanita!

Titi seems proud of the name Jaramillo, but maybe it's common, in season 1 Yessica main man also had that last name but was known as Mugroso.

I'm wondering if Soraya isn't after Sebas who is staying with his aunt ?? but we don't know her, is she Santi's or Soraya's sister.

poor Mateos, both his parents have runaway from home.

on the DNA, at best we will find out Hernan is not the father but there is no link to Titi as yet.

a little back story, in season 1 Hernan was trained as a sicario and given the job of guarding Daniela, (because they were holding his mother), but he got the combination to Yessica's safe because Daniela wrote it down, and with a buddy, that Vale fell for, stole all the money, he shared it with everyone but I'm sure he is still loaded.

also in that season the narco Cata G married had all of his assets returned that Yessica had taken and split them with Hilda since she was Cata G's heir (who we thought was dead) so all of our good guys have plenty, they just like the simple life.

sin-senos3

Great recap, Deb!
A while back, some of us were complaining that there's no one to root for, but now that things have developed, I am rooting for Daniel, Ximena, Hilda, Albeiro, Vanessa, Lucia and Valentina. Not happy with Santiago who after his night of passion, immediately lied to CataG. Not too happy with Hernan, Mariana, Sandra, mixed feelings about CataM, not too happy with cowardly Jota. I'm currently rooting for Titi in his goal of preventing Villa from giving Dayana the keys to the castle.

It's fun having all these story lines going at the same time. Somehow I don't think this is going to wrap up in 11 more episodes (but anything is possible).

Albeiro is really awesome. He's truthful, brave, self-sacrificing. So unlike his rival Santi. Hilda is also awesome, overcoming her memories of being in a mental hospital in the past to go in and confront her ex-husband the Dog.

BTW, this was one of the more picturesque and entertaining mental hospitals they've shown us, none of the drab white outfits on everyone, it was more like a circus troupe! What fun!

Sin-senos3

Deb, that was a rollicking and fun recap. Especially liked: “and this is the good hotel?”

I’d say I liked Friday’s episode more than any others in the week. No Martín. A really funny and interesting nuthouse. By the way, in one of the gray flashbacks they showed Carlos while he was married to Hilda, threatening her actually, because she tried to tell him the truth about his daughter. This guy seems to specialize in small roles. He played Santos Luzardo’s father in Doña Bárbara, at the beginning, when Santos was a child.

I can’t quite dislike Santiago. I think the writers mean to portray him as a really good guy. But, of course, I missed him in earlier runs of the show, where he may have had worse qualities. But not explaining to CataG where he was really going is really dumb. I don’t have a lot of confidence in he and the family moving back to Miami, with or without Hernán.

Look, could they do me a solid and kill off Jota. He’s such a coward that it wouldn’t be that hard. Maybe one of the nuthouse patients could snap his spine like a fishbone. Or…a narco driveby hits the wrong guy. Or…while he’s jabbering away in the car…it goes off a cliff and all the women get off with barely a scratch on their botox, but he’s smashed to smithereens.

CataM should write off idiot Hernán and go for Gabriel. That guy has something going for him: good looks, intelligence and probably WILL finish college.

Yes, Hernán bringing all those crazy gifts each time he arrives is completely ridiculous. All an infant needs is food and cuddling. And, don’t get me started on those mylar balloons. A good portion of my city lost power recently because one of them messed up the power lines.

Come on, blood cannot leak out of a refrigerator! And those heads looked male to me; not exactly Martín’s sort of special of the day.

I get a kick out of Titi’s constant ¡Ave María!. And, initially they portrayed Villa as cold as ice and smart as a whip. And he can’t see Dayana playing him like a fiddle? I did get a kick out of the way her face fell when Villa told Titi he was only kidding about leaving her in Colombia to run things.

Where is Sebas? Colombia or USA? Nice kid. I hope he isn’t the target, although what Soraya said about dar en lo que más te duele (get him where it hurts the most) sounds ominous. Her most likely target would be CataG, but she’s too tough to get at and is the star of the show.

OK, the coffee’s wearing off, so I’ll leave it at that.

sin-senos3

deb, thanks very much for the very helpful backstory.

novelera, I loved your suggestions about how to get rid of Jota, especially "while he’s jabbering away in the car…it goes off a cliff and all the women get off with barely a scratch on their botox, but he’s smashed to smithereens." Perfect!

Falco

I am in the middle of watching the 6:00 DirecTV East Coast airing of this new weekly telenovela. I will put up a recap of tonight's premiere after I watch the whole thing, get some dinner, and perhaps watch it again to fine-tune my understanding.

FALCO – Capítolo #1

OK. I’m totally hooked. Michel Brown makes an excellent cop. I liked him as one in La Mariposa.

We see at the beginning La Ciudad de México – 1994 (Mexico City – 1994)

Alejandro Falco gets up early, takes a run through the city wearing a hoodie. But he’s smoking, as well. He catches up with a rather corpulent guy, also running, and addresses him as José Gonzalez (basically John Smith) the accountant of Jefe Guardiola. Falco says he’s Alejandro Falco, policía judicial.

We see Falco’s warm, sexy side. He tries to get busy with his wife, Carolina, calling her a fugitive from justice. We also see his love for his two-year-old daughter, Paula. He smooches her belly and lifts her up. Carolina tells him she’s his talon de aquiles (Achilles Heel, or weakness).

He goes in on a Sunday because an ex-diputado a former deputy (think this is like a member of congress) was assassinated.

When Falco goes in he meets his partner Juan Pablo Bravo. Falco calls this the crime of the year. We can see their long, joking friendship. Falco tells Bravo that, if he keeps eating dessert, un día no va a entrar el dedo en el gatillo (one day your finger won’t fit any more next to the trigger of your gun).

Bravo tells Falco they have the assassin. [This is where novelera is confused. I thought they said the policía bancaria (bank guard) killed the politician. But later on, it seemed the guy was the witness.] Anyway, someone saw the killer approach the car and shoot him quemarropa (point blank). Bravo tells Falco that Zepata and Cuatémoc are probably deep in the investigation.

They show the car in the parking garage, glass all over the place, and the corpse. Falco finds a bullet casing almost hidden under a tire.

Cuatémoc and Zapata appear to have some hostility toward Falco. They basically tell him and Bravo to get lost; the case is solved. One of these creeps calls him Falquito, kind of an insult in Spanish. Falco says that politicians normally use bullet-proof cars, which means that the assassin knew that the victim didn’t have special glass. He also asked where were the guaruras (bodyguards); it’s like the killer knew the man wasn’t going to be well protected. One of the two jerks tells Falco to get the hell away from his investigation.

With a nice musical background we see Falco en famille. His father has some car problems. He tells his dad: Algo no me cuadra. (Something about this doesn’t make sense.) They are ignoring evidence. Falco’s father thinks the judicial police are crap; whereas, the army el ejército is different. [Something tells me Falco’s dad was in the army.] His father lays on the foreshadowing. He tells his son that this could be dangerous.

FALCO – Parte 2 de 3

At home Falco finds the weapon which uses the type of bullet casing (casquillo) he found. He thinks there were TWO attackers; he needs to talk with the bank guard.

Falco and Bravo find Julián Reyes, who apparently trapped the assassin. The guy is veeery nervous. Falco tells him he only wants a true statement of who killed the Secretary and it will only take a half hour. They walk out with the guy and a hail of bullets ensues. After lots of this Falco is shot in the head.

We then see him bald and waking up gasping – 23 years later. The doctor tells Carolina, his wife, that, for Falco, only a day has passed. Adela, the nurse, seems to be a friend of the family. When Carolina goes into the room, embracing him, he asks for Paula.

The doctor says that Falco is amazing. They’d have expected more damage, but his brain scans look good. We then see the doctor tell him 23 years have passed, and Falco sobbing.

Bravo comes to see him and tells him that the bank guard they were taking in for questioning had a hidden gun and was the one who shot him. [Somehow I don't believe this.]

Falco skypes with his now 25 year old daughter, Paula, a very touching scene.

We see an extended period of physical therapy and Falco getting strong.

Falco sees a long TV recap of what happened: Vicente Fox as President of Mexico, 9-11, Sadaam Hussein captured, the huge tsunami in Asia, Obama as President, Peña Nieto as President of Mexico, a big earthquake in Mexico.

Falco leaves the hospital. He’s in the back of a cab when he sees a man beating a woman. He jumps out, punches the guy, and then tries to see how the woman is.

Falco is arrested and accused of being the one who beat the woman. We meet Tenoch Caballero, a young cop who has a very punchable face. This guy is annoyed that Falco has connections in the department. He tells Falco that Bravo, his old friend, is the new head of detectives. Tenoch tells Falco that the woman said that he, Falco, was the one beating her. With a big sneer on his face, Tenoch calls Falco the Sleeping Beauty of the Police Dept.

Falco goes to his old apartment and calls out for Catalina. He discovers men’s clothes and shoes. This scene is very subtle; no dialog. He sees what’s happened and leaves.

Falco’s father appears to have dementia and doesn’t recognize him. He rents a cheap apartment. Bravo comes to tell him that Cynthia Mendoza, the Venezuelan woman that Falco tried to help, has been murdered. At the police station, he is told that she was a mother. They seem to be trying to accuse him of the murder.

Falco manages to get into the apartment of the murdered woman when Tenoch approaches, gun drawn. Falco easily disarms him and cuffs him to something. Tenoch calls him un pinche ruco (a blankety blank old guy). Falco reminds him that the “old guy” had no problem taking his weapon and handcuffing him. He leaves Tenoch there.

FALCO – Parte 3

Falco has found an address book, I think, and goes to see Cynthia’s sister and meets Cynthia’s 5-year-old, Ángel. He subtly asks the sister how Cynthia could have afforded two apartments. Falco admires the sneakers with wheels in the sole that the boy wears.

Having found out where Cynthia worked, Falco goes to the bar. He bribes the bartender to call the person who wanted to locate Cynthia’s purse. A shifty looking guy comes out with the purse. When Falco confronts him, the guy, Roberto, shows his badge and says he’s working with Cynthia. Later Bravo tells Falco that Roberto is one of theirs and investigating a ring of prostitution and human trafficking, and that Cynthia was Roberto’s informant.

Bravo shows Falco the web site where the women who are prostitutes are online.

Tenoch and his boss, Eva Solomen, speculate that maybe Falco needed a woman after being in a coma so long.

An elderly guy named Calixto shows Falco how to go on the prostitution web site, but tells him they can’t have women in the hostel.

Falco goes to the club where Cynthia worked and pretends to be a client seeking a prostitute. When the woman arrives and embraces him, for a moment, he fantasizes that it’s Carolina. But he pulls away. He gains the woman’s confidence, and she tells him about where the new arrivals stayed un alojamiento.

Falco goes to the place the woman told him about. We then see a big bust, and a lot of women are brought out, with their faces covered. Falco seems to know this was going down.

Lourdes, Cynthia’s sister, calls in a panic to say that Ángelito was kidnapped, and that they wanted the USB drive. At first Falco doesn’t know what that is; but being smarter than the average bear, figures out that Cynthia hid it in the wheels in the boy’s shoes.

Falco is snatched up and, sure enough, the shifty looking cop, Roberto, is behind it. He wants the USB drive. Falco says he has it, but he’ll only give it up when the boy is released. We see Ángel being let off on a public street. When Roberto then wants the drive, Falco just laughs.

They then put his head in a barrel of water until they think he’s dead. But, Falco has 9 lives. After they dump him in some body of water, hands tied with a rope, he manages to free himself and get to the surface.

Before he was grabbed up Falco told the cops his theory that the USB drive was in Ángel’s shoe, and we see the police watching the evidence. They manage to grab up Roberto.

Falco looks pretty good in Police HQ after his near death. And, amazingly, so does his leather jacket.

Bravo tells him he’s back on the force, except he has to attend twice weekly psychiatric therapy. His new boss is Eva Salomen; and his new partner…Tenoch.

We see Falco find his old car, covered up, and now vintage.

We do get a look at Carolina’s new husband, who doesn’t look like an upgrade.

Falco takes his father out of the old folks home and they drive off. Falco puts a….wait for it…cassette in the player!

Falco

Wow! Thanks so much, novelera, for this wonderfully detailed and helpful recap, including some Spanish that went right by me. The episode definitely held my interest but there were parts that I found confusing. For example, I kept wondering why they thought Falco knew Cynthia Mendoza. I didn't realize until I read your recap that she was the woman he had jumped out of the taxi to help. I also wasn't sure (and still am not) why the police raided the place where the prostitutes were working, shortly after Falco had questioned one of the prostitutes and had assured her that he wasn't going to cause trouble for her. By the way, I'm not sure why you think that the policia bancario wasn't the one who shot Falco.

All in all, I enjoyed the episode, even though at times it was hard to believe, starting with Falco's being in a coma for 23 years and then waking up. And with good muscle tone from the start of his recovery. His survival at the end, after being beaten and tortured and then thrown into the water with his hands bound behind his back also seemed a bit much. And then there was his wife's appearance, which seemed to have changed so little in 23 years. And when the cover was removed from his old car, it looked shiny and brand new. Sure, having it covered and in a garage would keep it looking pretty good, but not as if it was just driven off the showroom floor.

But in spite of a number of beanie moments, I do plan to keep watching. Again, many thanks!

Falco

Novelera, thanks a bunch. I’m so glad you’re recapping Falco. I liked Michel in La Mariposa too. I missed the first two-thirds of last night's premiere, so while I enjoyed the episode I was also totally confused. Appreciate all the deets and the snark along the way. My faves:

We meet Tenoch Caballero, a young cop who has a very punchable face.

We do get a look at Carolina’s new husband, who doesn’t look like an upgrade.

Juanita, ITA all your beanie moments. Falco would have needed much physical therapy and the car at the very least a tune-up and fluids replaced.

Got a kick out of Falco getting a kick out sticking his tape in the car's tape player. I'll be watching next Sunday.

Falco

Hi, Niecie in MD, good to see you! I too enjoyed the snark you cited. One more that I might mention is Falco looks pretty good in Police HQ after his near death. And, amazingly, so does his leather jacket. Definitely a beanie moment.

Following up on a question I asked in my earlier comment, I believe that the policia bancario is the one who shot Falco. At first, it was claimed that he was just a witness, but later Falco is told that he was the shooter. Since it's Falco's friend and partner Bravo who tells him this, and since it contradicts what was said earlier, I tend to believe it. Of course, I could nonetheless be wrong. It's been known to happen :-).

Falco, Telemundo

BTW, in case anyone missed seeing this episode, it's available in its entirety on Telemundo's web site. This will probably be the case with each episode the day after it is broadcast.

Falco

wow, novelera you write such wonderful recaps, I am always surprised anew!

Michael Brown was a similar character in "La querida del Centauro" a cop wanted by the cops running around in a hoody and sunglasses, he is very good in this role.

interesting, while I was looking up the cast I see there was an identical French tv series, "Falco", from 2013, that had at least 4 seasons.

it kind of looks like he will be solving a crime each episode while working on his own case, which will be neat.

was Roberto the guy that was originally beating on Cynthia?

I got that the shell casing Falco found was a .45, a different caliber, which is how he deducted there was a second shooter.

so that was an address book he took from the crime scene apartment.

even though the bank guard's family was upset I thought it strange Falco wanted to take him out in the open to question him.

hmm, the evidence showed Roberto beating on Cynthia again, but they don't show us all of the video.

yep, Tenoch is suspicious in that he keeps arresting Falco, but I think it's just another case where Falco has to set him right to gain his loyalty.

ha!, novelera, in your second part Carolina becomes Catalina (la otro) shades of Sin Senos witchcraft, is it spreading?

Falco

Thanks for the kind words, all. That was a lot of stuff to write! I have a suspicion that telenovela first episodes have much fewer commercials. They're willing to lose a bit of revenue to get the hook set into Viewerville.

Deb, you have the eagle eye. In re-reading what I put up last night I also saw the Catalina instead of Carolina. Maybe it was witchcraft.

Juanita, you may be right about the bank guard shooting him. My theory is that, judging by his fear and the fear on the faces of his family behind the screen door, he was just a pawn forced to accuse someone of the assassination.

They showed an arm with a blue shirt as someone who kept firing at Falco, Bravo, and Julián Reyes. And with so much shooting, perhaps more than one person was firing at them. Also, they showed Julián cowering with fear, on the ground, covering his head, and trying to make himself smaller.

I can't explain why Bravo, who so far has seemed like a good guy, told Falco Julián was the one who shot him in the head. Either the guy was set up by some cabal in the police and Bravo believed it. Or Bravo is part of the conspiracy.

Or, Julián Reyes, the bank guard, was indeed the one who shot Falco.

And, yes, I wish I managed not to age for 23 years, like Carolina.

Falco

Thanks, novelera: “A young cop who has a very punchable face” is just perfect. I cannot stand Tenoch. Of course he has to be Falco’s partner, right?

Juanita, you sure got all of beanie moments right.

Deb, I sure hope they do a crime an episode along with Falco’s own investigation. It will make it much more interesting.
