Yep, work IS hard. Hey, recapping is too. Thanks for another delightful read. Nina, I think Santiago called Alonso's flamante fiancée a "golfa" or something like that. Which means "slut". So naturally it was not a good bonding moment nor much of a congratulations speech.

The breakup between Christian and Lisandro was sooo contrived. But what am I saying?...this is a telenovela and events are contrived every day. But still, just annoyingly stupid.

And Antonio is moving at dizzying speed but Denise might as well jump right in. He's not as handsome as Leonardo (can't believe I'm saying that) but at this point she should be thinking about a little security with a nice man who adores her. She definitely could do worse and has...multiple times.

I only had time to watch half of today's episode, (but I got to see UnPadre Dan move his finger!) so I truly appreciate the recap.

I'm hoping that Antonio needs a transfusion. How else on earth will the writers make THAT big reveal? Well, Ant could keel over dead due to heart attack...that would be nice and dramatic ... and have Mariela written into his will.
 

When Demwit hear about that, he'll keel over.
 

Bunnycap for Friday, 8/24, Part 1:

- Rog pays off a couple randos to create a bloody diversion in the hospital hallway so he can sneak into Dan's room and tamper with his IV. After the homicidal maniac has left the barn, it occurs to Team Padre (Mari, Julio, Cefiro & Liso) that they should probably post a guard at his door. Dan wiggles more fingers, but nobody notices.

- Fab calls to make an appointment with Don Antonio, who directs the ubiquitous Luque to check him out, too.

- Ed gets served with divorce papers and flips his lid. Apparently Carla's playing hardball on the settlement. He storms over to the house and she throws him out (again.)
 

Bunnycap for Friday, 8/24, Part 2:

- Santi goes over the week's financial papers and confronts his father with the following: 1) he has noticed the misrepresentation of the company's liquidity, 2) he's not buying that these were "minor errors," 3) he will not lie if asked about it, and 4) if Quadrum's cashflow is not improved forthwith, Antonio could possibly become the majority shareholder. He gives Dem two days to straighten it out.

- Carmen and Sara are proffering "follow your heart" advice to the entire lovelorn population of Puebla, which fails to notice that neither one of these ladies has had a single date during the run of this show.

- While Rog is trying to make Elena eat soup off the floor (not worth explaining), Julio takes advantage of his blind spot to physically eject him from the house. Then he marches his Mom down to Cefiro, who marches her to the police station to file a complaint.

- Santi tells Mari about his romp with Ren, and she spills about the streetcorner shenanigans. When Leo overhears Mari wittering about all this to Carmen, he tells her it's none of her damn business. They bicker.
 

Bunnycap for Friday, 8/24, Part 3:

- Al confronts his brother about his bratitude toward Ren, and Santi finally comes clean about doing the dirty. Al blows him off, but he must have doubts, because he asks her about it afterward. Of course she hotly denies it. (Yawn! Can we skip some of the lather-rinse-repeat and go hang out in Padre's room instead?)

- Ant goes to dinner at Los Ferrer, after which he takes Santi aside to discuss financial matters. I didn't know Rafi could raise one eyebrow.

- Mari give in and admits she's probably overinvested with Al's happiness. When she asks Leo for a kiss, he puts a major move on her. She dodges, but yuck. (Please don't go to Paris, please don't go to Paris...)

 

Bunnycap for Friday, 8/24, Part 4:

- Rog discovers his Quadrum password no longer works and has Marcia in a throatlock when Elena marches in all under her own power and slaps him with a restraining order. She's finally mad! But I'm betting he's madder. Stay tuned.

- Some kid is out in the woods with his dog, who digs up a finger that appears to be attached to a hand that might be attached to...a little Dutch girl, maybe? Or is someone else missing? See you Monday!
 

Too many ads in this telenovela. Maybe I’m imagining it, but it seems to be more than usual.
Let’s pray they get some fingerprints on this hand in the park! That might move things along. There are so many loose ends In this story. Well, i guess we have to be grateful that at least Rogelio is thrown out of the house. And that never would have happened if Julio hadn’t showed up at the right time. That soup thing could have burned her face!!!
Alonso is pathetic. if only Santi had confided this to Sara! Then again, where would we be without all these “IF ONLYS”. We wouldn’t have any telenovelas to watch !!.- lol😂😂😂

This whole love story circle ... Ant loves Denise, who loves Leo, who loves Mari, who loves Alonso, who thinks he loves Renata, who only loves Al's family's money, of which there ain't much left. OMG this is like ninth grade angst leading up to spring prom.

Hhhmmm.....while pondering whose hand that was, I forgot about the Dutch lady. Oh well, must see TV!
 

Great Bunnycap Blue. Like you and everyone else I was deeply grateful when Mariela pulled away from Libidinous Leo. Double Ugh. He was amazingly understanding about it though which was a plus.

Loved that zinger. Granted both of them were married at one time, and Carmen's was hapy perhaps, but clearly Sara's was not. Sooo...maybe they're advising with a School of Hard Knocks degree.

But anyway, the general theme of all these telenovelas is Love is a Compelling Force that sweeps you away and there's nothing you can do. So we can hope that eventually Mariela and the somewhat milquetoasty Alonso will end up together after considerable more drama.

Santiago was great in this episode: first of all telling Alonso the truth and then informing Demián that he won’t be doing a perp walk for him. I would love to see Alonso end up being the majority shareholder.

I still do not get why Mariela did not send the photo to Alonso and let him decide on who was kissing who. It makes no sense.

I do wish Mariela would go to Paris with Leonardo to break us out of the hamster run we seem to be on.

Elena should have picked something up and smashed Rogelio in the head when he was choking her son. Lots of luck with a restraining order unless she gets a gun and uses it.

Yay! Ed was served divorce papers. Poor baby didn’t like it.

The corpse should prove to be interesting.

ANOT, yes Alonso is pathetic and not galán material. Maybe his choice of “Bésame mucho” in the other episode was more than appropriate with its lyrics conveying a certain desperation of “passionate” /“romantic” uncertainty. A beautiful song but not a very confident one.

I went back and looked at the hand in that last scene and it looked like a man's hand --- the fingers weren't very slender. But in telenovelaland, anything is possible, including using anyone's hand for that scene.

Was that the same place where UnPadre Dan was found?
