El Recluso is not one I expect to watch, but I did notice that between last night and today it went from being "13 episodes in September" to "exclusive 13-night event in September." I thought they were billing this as a Sunday night "Premium" series, but now it sounds more like a miniseries?

And El Señor says it's in "etapa culminante" whatever that means.

Coincidence or are the two announcements related?
 

Kat, I hadn't noticed that El Recluso is now being billed as a "13-night event in September." Perhaps it's going to be sandwiched into the 10 pm slot after El Señor and before Señnora Acero.

Soraya and Black Hand talk business (they are pretty impressed with each other but I didn't really get much of the details of their talk).

CG, Hilda and Alberio discuss bringing Carlos back with them, the important thing is to find Laura.

Mari makes it back to Titi's, tells him the baby is fine but Hernan is hurt bad, they hug.

Santi arrives at the hospital and CM brings him up to date, he finally gets a hold of CG too.

our guys leave Quinchia, 2 cars, Tony, CG Hilda and Carlos in theirs, and I guess they got another with a driver (they don't show him much, maybe he isn't really there).

the doc talks to CM, tells her to prepare for the worst, she flips and puts the blame on Santi's daughter, he doesn't buy it even when she spills her reasons, CG tells him they will talk later about it.

Santi tells CM to call if she needs anything, and leaves.

on the way home our guys run into Paola standing in the middle of the road, big eyes and smiles, is she on drugs?, Carlos flips when they put her in the car with him, Hilda has to calm him down, he keeps talking about Laura, she is here.

Calvo drives his taxi to Hilda's, breaks in and has flashbacks, Diabla calls him for a meet, what? (maybe it's a Quinchia warp)

Mari and Titi go a few rounds, finally Mari calls Dayana, tells her CM is still alive, so now Titi is in hot water with Villa.

Thanks VERY much, deb, for going ahead with the recap in spite of the absent or unpredictable captions. I think you've done a great job. And you even managed to keep your sense of humor, as in "I guess they got another with a driver (they don't show him much, maybe he isn't really there)."

It was interesting to see that Carlos immediately sensed Laura's influence on Paola, indeed, her presence in Paola. Too bad the others don't understand what he's trying to say.

And it looks as if we can't write Soraya off as loony and frustrated. Yes, she's all that, but she now seems to have a very powerful ally in the Black Hand. She literally idolizes him, and he sees in her someone who can be very useful to him. I'm not sure exactly how he plans to use her--it almost sounded as if he was going to make her a candidate to oppose the one he doesn't like (the guy who is doing well in the polls and who openly opposes the Black Hand and the important people whose interests he says he protects). I doubt that he's really proposing that she be a candidate, but he does think she's got the "perfect profile" to somehow damage that guy. The Black Hand tells her she has what it takes to go far.

Hmmm...somehow, I thought Calvo had been arrested. I was surprised to see him back in his cab, and in Hilda's house. And, of course, I wonder what La Diabla wants him to do. Undoubtedly nothing good. I wonder whether Carlos' ESP can sense not just Laura but La Diabla as well.

As for Hernan, my guess is that the doctor's telling CataM that Hernan has almost no chance of survival means that he will indeed recover.

Yep, Black Hand is very grateful to Soraya for saving him. He has a very twisted idea as well. He'll shoot CataG and make it appear that Santi did it, thus sending him to prison. He thinks Soraya has a lot of potential and wants to repay her by putting her to work in his organization. I guess he likes that she's ruthless.

Mariana DID want to kill Hernán as well, but now she's crying about it. She STILL wants to kill CataM, though. Titi promised her they'd find a way to get THEIR baby.

I think Santi did sort of believe CataM. Obviously, it's his child and he was going to talk with CataG before being all in. Of course, CataG KNOWS Mariana did it because Mariana flat out told her mother to get the baby out because there was a bomb. Or am I misremembering?

Too much Jota.

So more woo-woo stuff in that the Rottweiler can smell Laura on Paola.

I suspect the cops let Calvo walk because he helped them get Diabla. I was furious at the sight of him walking around in Hilda's house. He was probably planning to smell her clothes until Diabla called him.

Titi was completely fed up with being ragged on by Villa. I get the sense he plans to welch on whatever deal they had about the "kitchens".

I also think Hernán will make it. I AM nervous about their seeming to develop more plot points this late in the game. Please, please...no Season 4!

We saw a scene from season one where I guess Diabla had tried to kill Hernan and CataM, they apparently almost drowned. But Cata prayed, and then she saw two giant hands in the sky, signifying that God heard her prayer. A few seconds later, Hernan coughed up some water, was okay. Hopefully Cata can get similar help this time, since only a "miracle" can save Hernan. CataM told Santi she didn't believe in miracles, but I think that was before she remembered the one from season one.

I'm enjoying Paola's possessed personality, normally she's crying and screaming, now she's super happy and content. All her friends KNOW that's not Paola!

Black Hand said he could make any beggar President. He sees Soraya as rising far in his organization. I'm thinking, what happened to her psycho-ness? Is that on hold?

I can't understand the Calvo thing at all. Maybe he told the police where Diabla was, not sure, but it could also have been Albeiro, or even the girl (now dead) who bore Albeiro and "Yesica's" child. Didn't she walk out of there? But if it WAS Calvo, and now Diabla wants to meet with him, would she trust him? It does seem strange that not only is he out, but driving his taxi, and has a gun. They don't seem to be keeping much track of him. Of course this is typical for the police in this show.

Hombre, hmm, season 1, I think CataM and Hernan were hiding out at this farm when the bad guys came to kill them, they shot ?? Hernan and he fell off the cliff into that pool, as the good guys arrived, CataM fished him out.

Paola is a trip, but she better not hurt our good guys.

Calvo, Diabla and Dani's ashes were hanging out at a hotel after they snuck out of the ranch (showed by the baby's surrogate mother) before the big raid, and later Calvo, in a last ditch plea to Hilda, showed the police where she was, but he was stashed in a car where Diabla didn't see him.

Black Hand (HD) will move Soraya into the jet-set, Rocco tells her he is god, just do what he says, she just wants CG dead.

confused Mateos is brought to his new home, Looks like a mini-mall to me.

Calvo stops by to see Diabla, lost souls, they hug, almost touching, he wants to find her a doc, she wants him to find a guy, but can't remember his name, Mendiata ?? (the narco Rocco brought to Soraya?) anyway go to Bogota, Octavio's (he was a slick lawyer guy, Dani's real father, now dead) apartment, look for a number, address, whatever.

BH has ambitious plans for Soraya, it scares her, he presents her with a new car, and the remote to her smart house, she wants to go home to Mateos, nope.

Santi does goes home and Mateos is not there.

Soraya sees her new car, when Santi calls Mendiata grabs her phone and gives her a new one, her name is Ingrid now.

ditto with Mateo, when Santi calls the guy replaces his phone, he is now Mario.

Santi calls CG, they will meet at the clinic.

Calvo is back from the store with 4 bags of meds and maybe some food and water, Diabla wants him to woo Hilda again, hmm, Diabla's nails are perfect.

Soraya makes it to her new home, where's Mateos, ah, he's playing high tech VR video games, Mendiata shows and gives them the score, their old life is gone, is this a game Mateos wants to know, yep, family 2.0.

Calvo looks for Diabla's money stash in the backyard buried by Dani, (hmm, I think Marcial's guy already got it right after Dani buried it)

As our guys drive the dark mountain roads home, Laura comes alive in Paola, I see through your eyes, Carlos senses this and wakes up disturbed, my hands are your hands, as Hilda calms Carlos Paola grabs the steering wheel...

wow, what a crash, are they all dead, not Paola who's eyes pop open.

what? Calvo finds some money then lots more.

Soraya is liking this new life, Mateos not so much, he can never see his dad, part of the deal, but then is offered a moto, hmm, but I think the car on top of that might seal it.

and Ingrid Roman, they will change her appearance, she will be a diplomat.

Mariana is desperate to get her daughter back, Titi keeps throwing what happened back in her face, but I think he is warming up to the idea of having an heir.

our guys arrive safely at home, Carlos in attack mode, sniffing at Paola, Hilda handling him, Alberio lost in this new world, Jota offering to help Paola find a hotel room, nope Vane takes her in, and Diabla watches the street scene through the curtains, him in love with Hilda and she with Alberio, we're screwed, she says.

Muchas gracias, deb, for another concise and helpful recap. But what the heck was the scene where Paola grabs the wheel, the car goes all over the place, landing in several minutes of commercials. We then return from the commercials to find everyone unconscious and bleeding and the car in pieces. Paola regains consciousness with blood on her head, and then suddenly everyone is in the car and it is headed for wherever it's supposed to be headed. Huh????? So the whole business with Paola grabbing the wheel, the car careening wildly, and then evryone lying on the ground bleeding and unconscious is someone's dream? Hallucination? But whose? (The one part I do understand is that in this novela, only the commercials are real! :-) )

I also have the horrible feeling that novelera was right when she said that all these new developments (e.g., re Soraya) so late in the novela suggest that Telemundo may be planning yet another season of this [bleep bleep bleep]. Arrgh.

Juanita, this is the barrio where it all started, Diabla's mothers house is about a half block to the left of Hilda's on the other side of a cross street, it wouldn't be the same view as the camera shots, but close enough to see something going on.

I hope maybe Mario/Mateo's connection to Santi somehow prevents Ingrid/Soraya from carrying out Mano Negra's plan to kill CataG and blame Santi, landing him in jail.

I think the accident was just a dream of Paola, as to what she COULD do if she wanted. And now she's staying at Vanessa's house. Uh oh.

Jota the coward wanted Albeiro to stay with them too, but Al politely declined.

Mariana suggested that she could go back to the clinic with some guards and snatch CataP. I don't think they'd have too much trouble, or if they wait a bit, they'll probably have some chance to take the baby.

Yes, we haven't heard about Martin in a while. Very little about Albeiro's son. Not much about Daniel. I agree it looks likely that this show will not wrap up, but will give us another cliffhanger. On the other hand, they COULD wrap up everything, since I've seen other shows with multiple storylines finish them all in 2 episodes. But I'm not counting on it in this case.

I also loved, deb, the line about "Ingrid's" new house looking like a mini-mall.

Because I don't love this novela, I do watch the previews because...why not. But I never comment on them. So they showed Paola grabbing the wheel from Tony Monday night in the previews, but not the subsequent fake fatal crash. I thought it was really going to happen but they showed Tony managing to keep the car on the road and ...then... car completely smashed and bodies all over the place, but no scene of the vehicle actually going off the road. Once I saw dead CataG, I knew it was a fantasy.

Paola is definitely meant to be going after Vanessa, but could we hope she'd take a shot with a gun and Jota jumps in front of his wife?

Halimacandy, I was also wondering about the sleeping arrangements at Casa Hilda. LOVED "kennel".

I hadn't considered that Mateo's watch could be a tracking device.

It's just insane that they show the cannibal taking two women, one of them about 8.5 months pregnant and just dropping the whole thing for weeks.

Thanks, Novelera. Finally watched Sunday's episode. These are not your standard issue murder cases and my standard issue Spanish vocab can't keep up. I love that Falco is open minded and sharing with Tenoch. I don't blame him for his feelings for his wife. In his mind they were husband and wife just a few weeks ago. But so dumb to leave a message on her phone since he knows he knows nothing about technology.

thankful to be safely home, the yard gate is closed to keep Carlos from running off, while everyone sorts out what to do next.

Hilda and CG take Carlos to his room to sleep (didn't he sleep the whole way home) he settles on the floor, but they get him on the bed, Hilda stays with him.

Vane and Jota make it home with Paola, she goes to the bathroom, Jota tells her not to get lost.

CG leaves and talks with Alberio, she want a favor, keep an eye on her papa, he wants 2 favors, explain to CM about Carlos, and that he'll see her tomorrow, and, he wants a hug, they do, as Hilda walks out to fix some food for Carlos.

Tony drives CG to the hospital, while going past Diabla's mothers house she sees a light on, they back up but now it's not, she's not sure, they drive on but Tony will call the Colonel and have the house searched.

Diabla wants more painkillers, Calvo wants to take her to the doc, she says tomorrow they will go to Octavio's.

Paola gets settled in at Casa Vanessa.

CG wakes CM at the hospital, they hug, Hernan?, the docs say he only has a few hours left, CM says she will kill herself if he dies, and my parents, well, CG kind of explains her dad, the nina?, CM says she needed to see a second doc, and Santi?, CM explains how she was upset and hit him with the truth, CG says he will get it sooner or later, that their daughter is not who they thought she was.

Mariana shows with 2 guys to reclaim her baby, one guy fakes hurting.

(this isn't Quique ?? and Pulpo again is it, do they get a pass for the Diabla fumble)

mummy Daniel is restless, unplugs himself and moves to the door.

Soraya and Mateos eat dinner while Mendiata fills them in, everything will be done for you, now for some documents, sign and fingerprints and your former lives will be erased.

CG and CM talk by the baby as CG sees when she can take her home, CG wants to talk to Mari, CM asks she was responsible for the bomb, CG only says it's hurts to see what she has become.

the bad guys see a doctor, draw guns and get the info they need, then one as a doc pushes the other in a wheelchair right into CG and CM, oops, but doubting CG lets it slide and they pass.

Hilda and Albeiro climb into bed, she mentions the hug with CG, he says it's like her hugs with Carlos, she says he is generous for letting him stay, he says they need to call Margarita tomorrow, she says she's sleepy and crawls in bed, with her back to him, he sits there alone.

Calvo, in a hoody, takes a cab (where's his) to ??, this doesn't look good good.

Paola awakes in the middle of the night (under Laura's directions), and heads down the hall, quietly...

Thanks yet again, deb, for another helpful recap. Loved your referring to "mummy Daniel." I couldn't imagine why he wanted to get up. Given the extent of his burns, I'd expect him to still be in considerable pain and very weak. (Perhaps he wanted to meet with his twin, mummy Diabla?)

You asked about the second car. I too wondered, but then I decided that Jota et al had hired a car and driver to get them out of Crazyville, and that after they arrived at their destination, the car and driver left.

I think this may have been the only time this season that Jota has said anything worthwhile. He tells Vanessa that he has a sixth sense, an intuition, that Paola isn't Paola, or at least isn't the Paola they knew. The problem is, he spouts stupidities 99% of the time, so even Vanessa doesn't pay much attention to him when he finally has something important to say.

I wasn't sure what to make of CataG and CataM running into the two thugs who are supposed to steal Mariana's baby for her. CataG looked as if she recognized one or both of them, but then nothing is made of this.

Another thing I'm confused about is Albeiro's telling Hilda that they have to call Margarita, that Margarita has the baby. What baby? Mariana's baby is in the hospital. Is the baby Margarita has the baby that Diabla thinks of as hers and Albeiro's?

Like you, deb, I'm somewhat puzzled by Calvo's getting out of a cab (as you say, where's his?). He then puts up his hood and says something that leads me to think he's about to pay Hilda a visit. ???

Margarita is little Albeiro's grandmother, but didn't she tell everyone about Calvo being with Diabla and taking the baby?

a couple of people on twitter were asking that someone cut nose holes in Diabla's bandages because her heavy breathing was interfering with hearing what she was saying, I see they covered Daniel's nose too.

I guess everyone will be taking taxis because CataM's yellow land cruiser and Jota's new pickup are in Quinchia.

I was confused about the car as well. Well, what’s new? There are more holes in this plot than the proverbial Swiss cheese.

I HOPE they’re just messing with us and that the thugs don’t get to take CataP.

Musing about who’s under the bandages, I remember deb saying something about the actress playing Diabla (sorry too lazy to look up the name again) having had her face burned or something and thus couldn’t tolerate the makeup she needed in order to walk around looking like something in the butcher’s meat counter. And that her sister wore that makeup. But now the woman with the bandaged face sounds like the original actress. [I’m still struggling with correct terminology. I think the PC thing now is to call everyone an actor, but in telenovelas it seems stilted.]

Like most women, I think Hilda can sense when her man has a thing for another woman. She certainly didn’t react well to that hug. But he isn’t acting on his feelings, and I think she either needs to give him up or let it go. Isn’t this the first night they’ve spent together since the brujería? I don’t think I’d have turned my back on Fabián Ríos (ever!).

I think Calvo is about to enter Hilda's house, don't know why. Yesica still loves Albeiro, so he can't kill him, and he still loves Hilda. I wonder if Carlos will jump out at Calvo and bite him.

This was another show where nothing happened, and we had tons of flashbacks. But at least they're setting it up for action in the next episode.

So Soraya and Mateo sign off, ready to erase their old identities. But do they have any friends? And other relatives? Are they willing to forget all those people? I think Soraya should have at least asked, what if I don't sign?

CataG should trust her intuition a little more. First, she wasn't sure if the light was on in Yesica's mother's house. But it was, and she saw it. By the time Granados gets there, he'll probably find nothing. I liked that Cata asked Tony if a criminal would be stupid enough to go back to their former home. Tony said, in many cases, they do. I agree, both the good and bad guys (in this show) can be quite stupid. Second, it looked as if Cata sensed something wrong with the patient being wheeled in. But she let it go. One thing in the baby's favor is that there are about 5 or 6 babies in there, and maybe the bad guys can't figure out which is which until Cata wakes up and goes back? We'll see.

Yes I agree, no one believes Jota, even though this time he's right!

novelera, the article I read on Majida Issa (Diabla) referred to a prosthesis, which confused me, so assuming it was something worn on the face then and not now needed with the bandages, maybe Majida Issa is back, (but they were using Majida Issa voice, as she was right there speaking while her sister mouthed the sounds on camera).

Hombre, that's right, Margarita was Tono's sister, who was married to Yamile, the surrogate mother.

I find all of these out of sequence flashbacks confusing things.

also, Chuky was the name of Marcial's guy that got the money Dani buried, or some of it.

novelera, as I recall they originally didn't say, but her talk with Dani went along the lines of using a surrogate so Diabla would have no emotional connection with the child, but later on, Diabla definitely said they used her eggs, (hmm, how would the HIV work here, quick look says it's possible for healthy baby).
