Hernan is convinced he is dying, CM can't get him to see otherwise.

chief CG is now the official head of the Colombian TEA, she swears an oath on a king size bible, hugs all around, Santi squeezes between her and Tony to plant a big kiss.

Mari continues to snoop, this time with the keys she found and heads to Villa's office, finds docs, finances, and political allies and informants, along with Mendiota's number, (thanks novelera) she takes pics of all on her phone.

Dayana has Villa wrapped around her finger, oh wait, he gets a call and kicks her out of the room, it's Mendiota he wants to know why Villa was in Colombia without advising him, aaa... Villa mumbles his way through this, Mendiota wants a favor, the Attorney General and a couple of others are making waves, he wants Villa to discredit them, they talk about planting some merc on them.

the hospital docs find Paola in perfect health in all tests.

CM tells all about Hernan, she will grant his wish and marry him.

Calvo returns with doc Monsalve, and is seen by Jota going into Imelda's (Diabla's mom) house (hmm, it looks like they got both their cars back from Quinchia) the doc sees the cash, and takes a look at Diabla.

(and we see scenes from the end of season 1 when CG appeared and arrested Diabla)

Jota tells Albeiro, about the 2 men going into Imelda's house, and later tells Hilda, they decide to keep an eye on the place.

CM talks to a priest, if god is calling Hernan, she wants him to go in peace, the priest can't marry CM, today, but tomorrow is ok.

the hospital docs discuss Paola's interesting case, as Paola grabs a scalpel ?? off the end table the nurse has just left there.

Laura works on her barnyard chants with the Master of Darkness, she will decide what Paola does.

Monsalve tells Diabla he can operate at a friends clinic in town, she needs two things, a new identity and a face donor, she says no problem, as Calvo rolls his eyes, he knows who will get that job, she is to check into the clinic tomorrow.

as the docs discuss giving Paola a psych eval, she buries the scapel in her nurses neck, then cruises the hospital in her spotless nurses outfit with a drug cart, out the door and hops a taxi.

Jota asks about the person that calls herself Paola, they try to call but there is no answer.

Soraya lets BH know he is good to go, he tells her she is beautiful, they have a toast.

Hilda measures CM for a wedding dress but she wants to return to Hernan.

doc Monsalve says this will be expensive, Diabla says don't betray me.

1.) BPN, Jaime, Manteros & one of the Presidential Secret Service Agents take Mayra's body & likely dumped it in the middle of nowhere.

2.) Before they do, one of the Presidential Secret Service Agents started asking questions & gets whacked by Manteros.

3.) While that was going on, the cameras are still rolling.

4.) Corina gets scolded by Colon.

5.) El Chema is plotting his next attack.

Great recap, Deb! I agree, it was funny that Paola was able to put on the nurse's outfit and it was spotless, just after she killed the nurse with a bloody attack. And of course I'm sure it's standard to leave a scalpel on the table beside a sleeping patient. As I've commented before, these hospitals never seem to have any kind of monitor that will tell them when a patient pulls out all her cables and leaves.

I hope Hernan lives. The writers are making it so it could go either way. On the one hand, they have Hernan himself saying he just wants to get married as his dying wish, and then go. But on the other hand, Albeiro tells CataM it's a test of faith. CataM says there have been so many tests of faith, God, please let this be the last one, and let Hernan live! So that's a strong argument that he will.

Too bad Mariana is on the bad side, because if she decided to help out her Mom, she could bring down Black Hand, Villa, Titi, all of them, with those pictures. Of course she could also get caught, and that would not be pretty.

I still think that doctor is nuts to accept the money for the secret operation on La Diabla. Wouldn't you think he's already rich?

Paola didn't really have to kill somebody. Why couldn't she just have woken up, and then she'd be fine, they'd discharge her, because nothing was wrong anyway. Yes, they were talking about investigating her case since Jota and company said she was acting weird, but if she just woke up, I doubt they'd have good reason to prevent her from leaving. As it is now, she's blown her cover, committed a murder, won't the hospital call our crew and tell them? Laura seems not be be thinking this through. Of course, she may not be that rational. Fortunately for Laura and Paola, we have the totally incompetent hospital, doctors, police department, etc., to screw things up enough so that Paola will probably be able to do whatever she wants (for a while).

I'm sure when a new director of the FBI or DEA is appointed, they all drink champagne, and the oath of office goes on for about 10 minutes, with the director repeating phrases, just like a marriage vow. I also saw that CataG's skirt was actually a reasonable length, although the low cut top would probably not be worn by a real life woman promoted to head a department.

I liked how Soraya told Black Hand, tomorrow you get out of your wheelchair, and by resuming all normal activities, that will be your therapy. Yes, very realistic. They also toasted this with champagne (I guess some was left over from CataG's swearing in ceremony).

Albeiro asked Hilda, what about the other baby? He meant Carlos. Hilda told him that Carlos was not a baby, he's my ex-husband, and the father of CataG. Al wasn't too happy to be reminded of this.

As usual, nobody really believes Jota, who saw two men enter Yesica's Mom's house. It seems that they're now looking out the window, and would see the doctor leave, but then again, the phone could ring at any time (such as from the hospital), taking them all away from the window at precisely the correct moment, per telenovela rules.

you did a nice job filling some holes and of course added lots of color.

one of the things that attracted me to novela's is the filming is always so bright, clean and colorful (except for narcos), I always found the barrio an interesting place, it was odd for Monsalve to tell Diabla he must have made a mistake, she couldn't be a wealth lady if she was living in this dumpy neighborhood.

yep, there is not much culminante going on and lots of new people, this looks more like a continuation coming up, especially with the whole presidential candidate thingy, and so odd Soraya (or should I be calling her Zoraya) is now a victim, and it's in BH's best interest to keep Santi around so he can use her hate of him to drive her.

and there is the masked Daniel zooming around in his cape looking for Martin.

I could actually go for a another season if they went with the third generation, we have nanita, cata p, alberito, possibly a baby from Hernan and CM, and who knows maybe even Vale could turn up pregnant, (and thankfully Laura is the end of that line), but imagine these guys when they are teenagers.

I was also amazed by what CataG wore to be sworn in. And, do they really have swearings in at a restaurant? And the low-cut dress. Please.

I noticed something about the colors last night. During the phone conversation between Villa and Mendiota, Villa’s patio area was shot with warm colors, and Villa wore red. But Mendiota was in blue and everything in his surroundings was white or light blue.

I sort of feel like Mariana is opening Pandora’s Box and/or cavando su propia tumba (digging her own grave). Having all these things on her phone about very dangerous men is reckless, but when has Mariana every shown good sense?

I noticed Santiago made a big point of kissing CataG on the lips after interrupting Tony’s warm and affectionate congratulations to her. Sheesh! Marking his territory at her swearing in ceremony!

Yep, this Monsalve is apparently another of the stock bribable doctors in telenovelas. I was riveted by the latest issue of National Geographic in which a face transplant is described, along with photos. I’m not squeamish, so pictures of what surgeries look like don’t bother me. But the young woman getting the face transplant had to wait 3 years for a donor. The donor had died of a drug overdose, and her grandmother donated everything, including the face.

So I suppose they’re going with Calvo walking the streets looking for a suitably pretty young woman and killing her. According to the real science, the donor has to be alive (on life support and comatose) so the donor face has functioning blood vessels that are then somehow matched up with the ones on the recipient’s face. And enormous amounts of anti-rejection drugs are taken for life.

Calvo walks Monsalve out to the taxi, Jota, Albeiro and Hilda see, and recognize Calvo, Al calls CG who says, don't tell anyone and don't go near there.

BH wonders how he can repay Soraya, she says,,, yes, yes your ex, nope, she wants peace of mind, promise you will protect my son and me.

Albeiro and Hilda go to the hospital, leaving Jota to check on Carlos, where they learn of Paola, yikes, they can't get a hold of CG with the news but call Jota to warn him.

nurse Paola returns to her owner, where Laura reminds her, your soul is mine, and as Pao reaches the top of the stairs, she collapses, to be drug inside Laura's candle/cigar store.

with the baby in the car, Jota vows to protect Vane, knocks her out and stuffs her in, grabs their money and hits the road.

chief Cata rounds up a couple of special agents, Stephanie and Francisco, to keep watch on Imelda's house, her number one, Tony, lines them out, top secret, minimal contact, etc, etc.

a couple of beggars with their cart and dog plant themselves on a park bench in the barrio close to Imelda's house, it's our undercover TEA pair, hot to make a name for themselves.

Albeiro and Hilda check out the crime scene at the hospital, Hilda suggests maybe it wasn't her, maybe someone like Laura made her do it, Al scoffs, Hilda reminds him, like with you, when you were under Diabla's spell.

Mendiota tells Soraya, they are destroying Ana Paula right now, he goes to watch a live feed.

Ana gives Felipe her answer, nope, she will not let him blackmail her, he brings up the their sex videos on his phone and gives her a choice, come with me now, as his finger hovers over the send button.

our agents decide to camp out at Imelda's house, Calvo wants to toss them, savvy Diabla wants to wait and watch, they may be TEA or narcos, oh and could you feed Margarita, I forgot to.

Felipe and Ana get a room, he strips her, and talks of their past love, she is defeated, Mendiota watches on the big screen, calls Rocco, tells him they got what the wanted.

Albeiro and Hilda are home, they bicker about Carlos, Al tries to reach Jota, no answer, he'll stop by his house.

handler Rocco tells Soraya she's off to Bogota tomorrow, Mateo?, I'll watch him, oh and memorize this text I'm sending, for when you meet with Alfonso.

Mari and Titi chat over a meal, she throws in how she went through Villa's study, what? because this will benefit us both, did you know he has politico connections, this guy Mendiota, I want to get in touch with him, Titi is kind of speechless.

CM comforts Hernan, lets him know they will be married tomorrow.

when Titi tries to get Mari pointed in a better direction, she replies, does he want her to be an ornament? he asks what she wants to study, she says, this business, I want my mom to come after me.


tomorrow, Yessica enters the clinic.
tomorrow, Soraya goes to Bogota and meets Alfonso.
tomorrow, CM and Hernan wed.

Thanks, Deb, you cleared up several things I missed.

I'm starting to feel that the writers are preparing us for Hernan to die, just as they did last season with Marcial, whom Titi had to kill, even though Titi didn't want to. I think Marcial even said goodbye to each of his friends during the week before he sort of made Titi kill him. Titi also felt bad about killing Gato (Black Cat, the other guy they showed in Titi's flashback, whom Titi had to kill, both for "business" reasons). Titi was thinking that really this narco life is not so great (if people around you have to die). But Mariana doesn't get this.

Finally someone (Hilda) realized that Paola is under a spell, just as Albeiro was, when he was made to abandon Hilda and CataM and go with Daniela and Yesica (disguised as her sister), at the girls' graduation.

I'm not too happy with the ambition of Stephanie and Francisco. Yesica is no dummy, and things might not go well for them.

It's a good thing Paola is so skinny, since Laura had to pick her up and drag her into the house after knocking her out with some incantation.

Jota continues to be the coward, knocking out Vanessa and leaving with their big bag of money. I have a feeling when Vane wakes up, she'll make him come back. And he was supposed to check in on Carlos, who is not being watched now.

Ana Paula is such a dope. If Felipe was the type who filmed her before, and was going to release the video to social media, why would she trust him this time? Also, he wanted a night of sex, but do the lights have to be on? In real life, the lights are usually out, no? But of course on telenovelas, that wouldn't work.

Reading your recap answered something for me. I had completely forgotten about Margarita. I had been thinking: Where's Albeirito? With all Diabla's groaning with pain and taking major drugs she hasn't seemed like she's up for caring for the baby. And, if that is her bio kid, then she differs from other mammals - most of whom have an instinct to care for their young.

Soraya got some serious extensions from this Hairdresser to the Stars. She's got about eight inches more hair than when she arrived to take out Black Hand's appendix.

Show of hands...anyone think the TEA is going to grab up Diabla even though she's hanging out in her mother's house? Instead of sending two agents to portray street people, why doesn't the new head of the TEA in Colombia get a search warrant and storm the place?

They have really dumbed down the women in this show, except for the criminals. Hilda was denying that Calvo was across the street. Vanessa was refusing to believe Paola killed someone. And Vanessa AND CataG seemed oblivious to that crazy stare and lunatic smile on Paola's face.

I got the impression that, when Jota was jabbering away at her in her car seat, Baby Nanita had a distinct WTF look on her face.

Hilda seems to be on board with demonic possession, or whatever this is. And I believe she's convincing Albeiro, giving the lazy writers lots more chances to show Albeiro rejecting his own daughter and having hot sex with Diabla.

some backstory on Gato Gordo, (Dagoberto Gama), and I'm a little fuzzy, he was Diabla's guy that moved her merc, but he broke from her to start his own business. Titi after 18+ years in prison was released on Marcial's request to help bring down Diabla, but when that was over (everyone thought Diabla was dead and buried) he broke from the TEA to return to the narco life, but he had nothing, so he partnered with Gato, but after they got things going he killed Gato for his money stash and the business, actually the cops shot him while they were fighting, but Titi and Diabla tried to kill him a few times (but you know how cats are) and in the end when Gato knew he was dying, Diabla got a hold of him, and honor among thieves, Gato had Diabla do him in by her own hand.

also Titi, thinking Diabla was dead, partnered with Daniela to get Diabla's routes, and she wanted CM dead, so Marcial was going to turn him in, so they both forced the others hand, but like you say, it was business, and Marcial, confined to a wheelchair, no longer wanted to live.

was it this season when Vale disappeared, remember her almost boyfriend, the Colonel took the entire army and stormed his house from the air and ground, is he still being questioned?, of course Chief Cata has the best intentions in capturing Diabla.

and where is Gabriel, CM's suitor, I guess the bombing put an end to the school days.

they should at least give us a short flash of the masked Daniel every show.

Deb, thanks for the refresh about Gato Gordo (fat cat), I had forgotten most of it.
Novelera, I think Alberito is not not Diabla's bio-kid. His Dad is Albeiro's sperm donation, and his mom is Yamila, Margarita's sister, killed by Calvo and Yesica, although nobody else knows. So that could explain why Diabla isn't caring for him as much as she cares for her real bio-kid, Dani's ashes.

I too thought Yamile was the bio mother but Yessica later threw out that they used her eggs, (which complicates things because of her HIV), but hey, Calvo is getting the dna test done.

Yes, I also remember something said, almost in passing, that Albeirito, was from her egg.

This from the internet: "In addition, I am inclined to agree that a human egg would be very unlikely to harbor HIV, even in the unlucky (and very unlikely) chance you had an HIV infected donor. In infected people, HIV is harbored in immune system cells -- not, to my knowledge, in eggs." This was a response from a doctor to, I assume, a person who wanted an egg donor and was concerned about the donor possibly having HIV. In the case of Yésica, we saw from the report at the hospital (can't remember why they tested her blood - Dani was the one in there) that she IS HIV positive.

I had been assuming that Yésica wanted the DNA test to prove to Albeiro that the child was his. I don't think she has any doubt about the mother, whether the egg donor was Yámile or she herself.

Thanks for the background on Gato Gordo. I have such fond memories of that actor in La Reina del Sur as Pote.

Mari rants how she hates her mother, wants to get back at her, will make her life hell, till she comes after me, Titi responds with, nothing good will come of this, when she catches you she'll spank you, Mari pulls out the shiny gun she found, this gets Titi's attention.

Jota must have really clobbered Vane because it's dark and he has gotten to where he is going and she is still out, he carries the baby in, then her.

Al can't find Jota and he's not answering his calls.

Carlos is improving as he takes the spoon from Hilda and starts feeding himself, he thinks she brought him here to find Laura, Hilda says it's to protect you and CG, and Cata is in danger.

our beggars settle in for the night on a piece of cardboard, CG calls, nope, they haven't seen anything. (I think yesterday Diabla asked Calvo if they have food so they can lay low for a while)

Hilda asks how Carlos is doing, he says he feels something, deep inside, like he was stabbed, she comforts him, Al watches from afar.

Mateos comes home and asks Soraya what she is doing, she's memorizing a text they sent her, a Machiavellian instruction manual, que?

Alfonso can't get Ana to answer her phone, she is in the shower trying to get clean, but can't.

Mendiota calls Alfonso, he has some delicate material to give him, Alfonso is busy and flying out tomorrow, they'll meet at the VIP lounge at the airport.

Ana finally answers her phone, tells Alfonso it's that time of the month.

Tony brings food for a busy CG, Santi arrives and squeezes in between for his kiss, (I guess they are going to pick up Sebas) Tony leaves and Cata asks if he is jealous, jealous no, Santi says, just that I want to strangle him when he looks at you with those loving eyes, Santi wants to christen the office.

Vane awakes (and I guess Nanita never sleeps, cute) and finds her self in a cage sort of, Jota comes back with food, and well she's staying in there till the curse is undone, because I love you.

Hilda sews, CMs wedding dress?

Vane wants out, nope, as Jota has taken on one of those off smiles.

CM is in her wedding dress, wow, Hilda can sew, but CM never thought the best day of her life would be like this, Hilda comforts her, Sandra dropped off some earrings, AL?, he went out to but a suit and tie.

Titi teaches Mari to shoot, she says he doesn't know what she is capable of.

Dan's reading up on leads to Martin, calls Albeiro who invites him to the wedding, and gets filled in, but Dan won't show looking like he does.

Hernan sleeps with the monitors quietly beeping, as doctor Martin looks in on him, and where is CM he wonders, he'd like a taste of her before CG, it's only a matter of time...

1.) Casaloba gets arrested by Border Patrol at the US/Mexico Border.

2.) The Venezuelans plotting terrorist attacks on the United States.

Thanks again, deb. Very little time to write a comment today, but I always appreciate your recaps.

So these writers must be on drugs. When CataP was a newborn and Mariana was living in that hotel room next door to her parents, Mari was very, very affectionate with her mother. The baby seemed to make them very close. Mariana was over the moon when she heard her parents were getting back together.

She was, of course, still a brat about insisting on trapping Hernán Darío with CataP, but she appeared to be a loving daughter.

So now, abruptly, she hates her mother and waves a gun around when Titi suggests she needs some nalgadas from her mother?

Doesn't make sense.

Great recap, Deb, wish a few dashes of your subtle humor. Loved it!

This show is both stupid and sick, but somehow I can't stop watching. We finally get to see Martin, and he's disguised as a doctor. I wonder if anyone can really just pose as a doctor in a hospital, and no nurses or anyone else will notice?

Mariana's idea to be a narco to get back at her Mom is ridiculous. Even Titi thinks one should love one's mother, and how bad could CataG have treated you? Oh, says Mari, you know my Ma as a lover, but you can't imagine how much I hate her for how she treated me as a mother. C'mon, Mariana, what did your Mom do? Get mad at you for smoking pot? Tell you to grow up? Criticize you when you tried to trick Hernan, first drugging and seducing him, then telling him the baby was his? Do these things warrant "revenge"? It's just ridiculous. But that's our show.

Also ridiculous, Jota. First of all, does he really think that twisted smile is helping? If there were any hope at all of convincing Vanessa that this is necessary, one should talk to her earnestly, explaining things, not acting like a fool (but then again, Jota may be incapable of acting normally). He also has not thought things through. Although lots of people are "cursed", many of them are not being killed. For example, Daniela, who killed herself. And Ximena, who died in a fire, which was an accident. So the bottom line seems to be, if they die, the curse is working. Okay, what if Vanessa gets so upset she stops eating, and dies in that cage? (I know, unlikely). But Jota would have failed to prevent her from dying. He hasn't thought it through. Also, what about going to the bathroom, bathing, taking the baby to the doctor, this whole thing is beyond stupid.

As is the thing with Ana Paula, who of course made the wrong choice. Alfonso even told her today, you can tell me anything, we'll work through it. Well, yesterday, maybe she could have told him she's being blackmailed with a tape. Today, too late!

I'm expecting the wedding of CataM and Hernan to be very depressing, or even if it's supposed to be uplifting, I'm going to suffering as all these serious things are being said (accompanied by lots of flashbacks, of course). Unless Martin shows up to spice things up!
