Corazón Que Miente, Week 13 (8/27/18) – Monday Kickoff: Whom Do You Trust?
Denise asks Leo nine ways from Sunday if he's sure he's really, really okay with her moving in with Antonio. He really, really is. Carmen takes note of the the difference between Leo's buh-bye and Mari's continued anguished pillow-hugging.
The police fetch the body back to the morgue and Olga tearfully identifies it as her daughter. The coroner states that it's definitely murder. Dutch mama faints (but is probably not pregnant.)
In an otherwise uneventful financial confab, Santi confesses to Antonio that he does not trust Renata or her real-estate-brandishing friends. But the rest of the family was all in on the deal; he just went along to avoid problems. Antonio nods wisely.
Rog haunts the yellow house, to which he still inexplicably has keys. (Don't they have a handout in the restraining-order department that says "1. Change the locks"?) He eventually emerges with a distinctly un-macho wheelie suitcase. Knowing him, it probably contains silverware with other people's fingerprints on it to plant at crime scenes all over town.
Santi confesses to his abuela what went on between him and Ren. She says she has always been able to tell when he's fibbing, but now she's not sure. She confronts Ren, who gives her usual spiel. Sara announces she's going to stay out of it...she can't mean that, can she?
Rog goads Dem to go to the hospital and finish his brother off, but when he arrives the security guard prevents him from entering. This is a very, very satisfying scene. Of course he goes right home and calls Preciado, who threatens Dr. Ovalle with criminal prosecution. Mari begs her boss not to give in, but he looks beaten.
Fab's secre complains about all the attention he's paying to Renata, and he's super-ugly to her. "Don't you know you're just a roll in the hay?" She looks mad. Hopefully she'll get even.
In other news:
Liso tries to make up with Cris, but it doesn't go very well. Cris says he needs time.
Rafi tells Marcia to get her hacker buddy down in IT to lie to Rog about why his passwords didn't work -- "say there's a virus or something."
Luque tells Antonio that Fab has priors. Ant directs him to check out Renata as well.
Santi feels a spasm in his leg!

Thanks Blue Lass. Like everyone else I was baffled by why everybody had on a mask except the poor mother who was gagging and retching very convincingly. And agree with Doris that the man's hand was certainly not a very good representation of what would have been a delicate, manicured woman's hand--- but oh well.
I thought Santiago's story was very convincing and Sara did seem to wobble a bit. And oh Denise!...lurking in Leo's studio, watching him work, hanging around, hanging on...just get out of there! And start your life over with a nice man who seems to appreciate you. Leonardo is a dead end in every way.

Has anyone seen a promo for whichever telenovela that will replace this one? (I FFWD thru the commercials)
I believe they're going to screen "Mi Marido Tiene Mas Familia." I have seen a brief trailer, but I can't find the American version online (the Mexican version is the same but has a different date and time.)
Blue Lass - I was hoping MMTMF would be shown at night. It seems to be popular, but daytime broadcast works for me.
I just wanted to thank the recappers and say hi to the names on here I recognize! I've been super busy since I last recapped/posted (Vino el Amor) and haven't had time to really watch a telenovela since. Plus the ones they rerun in the daytime are more entertaining for me than the nighttime ones lately so that's what I've watched. But I have gotten into CQM on days I work at home, so it's great to have the recap to understand what's going on.
Tuesday Bunnycap, Part 1:
- Denise finally tears herself away from Leo (has she been saying goodbye all night?) and heads for Antonio's place. He lets her choose her side of the bed.
- Santi gets an upbeat prognosis from the doctor and insists he wants Mariela and only Mariela for his continued physical therapy, to the consternation of all the rest of Los Ferrer.
- Ed drinks & dials, but Rafi's not answering. She does pick up for Rog, though, who demands that she find him a place to hide out for a few days.
- Zanabria eavesdrops on Preciado & Demian outside a conveniently ajar door. Nothing too incriminating is said, but he looks plenty suspicious.
- Sara tells Ren that "as long as Alonso still wants to marry her," she will support the relationship, which seems comfortingly vague.

- Cefiro buttonholes Ed in his office and tells him they have the fully alive second witness in a safe place, and he has spilled the beans on the whole fake will. He urges Ed to come clean before he goes down with Dem, and a rattled Ed seems just about to crumble when Fab comes in and runs Cefiro off.
- Denise flips when she overhears Ant on the phone to Leo about progress on Mari's statue. He assures her it's just a gift.

- Santi goads Al about Leo & Mari's Paris trip, telling him this may be his last chance to fight for her -- or at least find out the REAL reason behind the derailed wedding.
- Stationed by another conveniently ajar door, Leo overhears Mari wailing to Carmen about how she can't get Alonso out of her heart.
- Santi invites Lety over to the house and gives her a ginormous box of chocs and a very sincere apology for his bratty behavior. He promises it will never happen again. She accepts his apology but tells him that she doesn't want to be his novia anymore.

Demián did a good job of controlling his mental victory dance at the hospital, but is way guilty of over-acting at the cemetery. Sara's spidey-sense looked like she wasn't buying it. His anvil just got bigger.
Lefty's hair color is looking darker again. And good for her in dumping Santi the way she did.

doris, I am with you and hoping that Padre Dan is being held somewhere else safely and might have gained consciousness already and is in on his own protection. I would love a dramatic Perry Mason like reveal of Padre Dan alive and Demián shocked literally to death along with Rodrigo. That would be a happy ending.
Antonio has to be a keeper since he asked Denise what side of the bed she wanted.

I was so happy to read some of your thoughts on Padre Dan and please forgive my naievte BUT didn’t Leo pull the sheet up and see him? Ok, i guess he could have been just back in coma or sedated? This idea never occurred to me. I sure hope you guys are correct!

And yes, JARIFA- what the heck did Sara expect Renata to say? I have said this several times before :This type of questioning - - the DID YOU KILL MY SISTER question - (a metafor of course! ) are way too frequent in these dramas. Renata needs a heavy duty comeuppance. Boy, there a lot of comeuppances to dole out in this TN. Wish we could start seeing just 1 or 2 NOW!!!

Thrilled to hear that others share my doubts about Father Dan's untimely death. Did you notice that every time Lety asked Mari about what happened, Mari just pursed her lips and looked grim? I am choosing to believe that she just couldn't lie to her best friend...(no prob lying to Los Ferrer, of course.)
Leo did see his face, but only briefly. He seems genuinely tragic, so I don't think he's in on it.

If Pad Dan is still alive, likely only Mari and that other Doctor are in on it. It's the only way to keep Dan safe. Let's hope the convulsions were a red herring..

Don't worry, Nina, Cef very clearly said the witness was Vallarino -- our 2nd witness to the fake will. He's in the wind, but Ed doesn't know that.
Wednesday Mini-Cap: Just the High Points, Folks
- Leo suspects Dan's death has something to do with his investigation of the Barba Azul, but Mari talks him out of going to the police. Hmmm.
- Leo & Mari are packing when Al shows up and launches a renewed galanbesoattack. Mari can't look into his eyes and swear she doesn't love him anymore. Uh-huh.
- Sara is packing for a sudden trip to "Mexico City" to visit a sick "Cousin Barbara" that no one's ever heard of when she finds an old box with an unsent letter from Luci to Leo that makes her cry. A lot.
- Dem abuses Santi for pushing Al in Mari's direction, and Santi realizes his feelings never changed: he just wanted to co-opt Santi to legitimate his shady business deals. Santi says he's done.
- Julio overhears Cef & Liso talking about their secret scheme and demands to be let in on it.
- After Al leaves, Sara shows up with Luci's letter and announces what we've all suspected: Leo is Al's father! Caras de impactados de todos who don't much feel like going to Paris anymore. Yay.

JudyB - ugh! on the car damage. I feel your pain. Shortly after hubby bought his first SUV (always drove sedans before that), he accidentally left the back hatch open overnight. Forgot it was open the next morning, backed out of garage, and scraped the back hatch on a piece of metal that hangs down a bit on garage door. Oops! Brand new vehicle! Car dealer laughed and said yes, they see a lot of that. He now has a paint touch-up stripe back there. :-p
Ahhhh...thanks guys. You made me feel a little bit better. Was so bummed last night. Will definitely need heavy duty touch-up paint. It dug in right down to the metal.

OK- Though I am ready for a couple of comeuppances, I do NOT want this to end because I think it's a great telenovela and I'm grateful that someone had suggested it to me after the AMAR SIN LEY ended.--SEE below for new rumor re: season 2 of ASL
So......I am counting on you very informative guys TO let me know what I can watch when this is over (I dont mind the morning ones since I can record). I dont think i want to watch TIENE MAS FAMILIA because I thought the first one wasnt terrific and definitely not interested in PILOTA because the first one was too brutal for me (tired of 100% narco TNs).
SO, PLEASE PLEASE let me know if anything really good comes after CQM is over! MIL GRACIAS!!!
