Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Captitulo 6, Tuesday September 18, 2018; “Truth be Told” or “You are my Grandpa!”

Canuto arrives at the hospital and bumps into Robert. He says he is going to visit his grandson. But at that moment Imelda comes around the corner with Lázaro and quickly tries a quick get away. Robert excuses himself and goes after his grandmother to find out what is wrong and why she high tailing it out of there. She makes something up and says to Lázaro, “Hey, why didn’t you tell me my grandson was there?” Robert takes her into the office and she gives him some story about the news and how bad things are in the world. He says he is going to give her something to calm down and if it doesn’t work, then she will have to be admitted to the hospital. Imelda likes that idea saying, “Then I can escape the world.” Roberts asks why she is so nervous and Imelda begins to cry. She says she keeps thinking about what might happen.

Meanwhile, Canuto goes to talk with Axel and tells him he wants to go back to Cabo because he just saw his ex-wife there at the hospital. Axel tells him he needs to face the truth. “Wait, you already talked with her?” “Yes, in front of my grave. And if I say anything, your grandmother will kill me.” Axel says, “Don’t you think things are getting out of control?” Canuto says he just doesn’t feel very well either. Axel checks Canuto’s blood pressure and finds that it is quite high.

Pancho’s nice new expensive furniture arrives. Blanca wonders what they got themselves into renting to Pancho and his family. Blanca is sure there is something up. Audifáz comes running in too to gossip about the new expensive furniture and why they have such expensive furniture but yet want to stay in a modest apartment. Polita wonders if they are doing money laundering!

Just then, Eugenio’s phone rings and it’s Robert calling to tell him that something is going on with Imelda. The rest of the family has noticed something, Blanca says she seems depressed.

At the Cooper home, Julieta and Cassandra work on the project. David comes to ask if Sebastian can spend the night. Seb is outside asking his grandmother’s permission. Julieta says it’s fine with her. Then Crisanta says, “Don’t you want to ask your husband?” Julieta just looks at her and says, “What?” “Never mind” says Crisanta. So Seb spends the night.

Clarisa and Gabriel continue to do a great job selling the alebrijes. You can tell Daniela is not a skilled sales person. Both Gabe and his sister have the flair to do it.

Imelda comes home and through her tears insists to Eugenio and Audifáz that everything is just FINE.

Blanca notices Pancho hiding in the hallway outside their apartment crying like a baby. He is reminiscing about when he got married. Blanca walks by and he does not know she is there.  She sympathetically wonders what is wrong, but does not approach him.

At Cklass, Julieta presents her portfolio work to Susana and tells her she is going to demonstrate to her exactly what she is capable of doing. Susana seems happy to hear this and asks Julieta to present it at the next meeting. Julieta goes back to her office and lets Casandra know that they are expected in the meeting in ½ hour. Julieta calls home to find out how Blanquita is doing and find out her mother has given her a new age herbal bath to lift her spirits. Julieta is livid about that because she does not know if Blanquita will have an allergic reaction. She looks up and says, “We need a nanny.”

Seb and David are getting ready for school and Robert tells them to hurry up and go brush their teeth. While they are brushing, Robert has a looksee at the family trees. He notices the two Canutos on each tree labeled as the great grandfather and grandfather on Seb’s. Robert takes a photo of each with the old picture of Canuto and the one of Canuto as a young man.  Seb comes out and explains to Robert his tree. “And this woman who is your mother, her name is Susana Córsega?” He recalls how angry Julieta was when she first told him about Susana. So the next question Robert asks is, “And where does your mother work?” Seb responds “At Cklass”. Robert just has this look on his face like “Ooooohhhhweeee!”

At Gabe and Daniela’s place, she is very pleased how well the sales went with the alebrijes. But she tells Gabe she wants to have a “Can we talk” session with him later. Gabe is not thrilled about that because he knows that “Can we talk” is always bad.

Pancho drives his children in the van to get them registered for school. They sing along the way. Pancho says they are going to start a new life there and if anyone asks, they are to tell people that they moved there because of work.

Blanca goes over to see Imelda in the morning and finds her looking very depressed. Imelda says, “It’s one of those days when I wish I did not have to wake up.” Blanca doesn’t understand because Imelda had been so excited about the dress shop. Then Blanca offers to make a nice big breakfast for her.

At Canuto and Crisanta’s place, he is telling her he want to move back to Los Cabos where the ocean is. She does not want to move back because she wants to be there to support their daughter.

At the hospital, Robert shows Tavo the photos of the family tree and his suspicions about Canuto. Tavo says maybe it’s all in his head, but Robert says there is no other logical explanation. Robert goes on, “And here is the worst thing. Canuto has a daughter and her name is Susana Córsega. She is Julieta’s new boss.” Tavo says, “You mean she would be the aunt by marriage to Julieta?”

At school, Seb presents his family tree and says that his grandfather’s name is Canuto Córsega. Then David pipes up and says, “My great grandfather’s name was also Canuto Córsega.” The kids start laughing. The teacher tells the kids that there are some people in the world who have the same name. Then David said that his great grandfather has already died. Seb says that his grandfather is still living. One of the boys makes fun of the name Canuto saying that it is a horrible name. Seb gives it right back to him with, “so what about your name, Dorian?”

Robert calls Canuto on the phone and asks him to come in to see him.

At Cklass, Julieta give her presentation and it is a hit. Even Susana is smiling. Then everyone claps and Susana seems very pleased. But after Susana leaves the room, she looks pissed.

Lázaro takes Imelda to the shop. In the car, she starts crying and asks him to take her someplace where she can be alone.

Pancho comes home with the twins and they tell Blanca that they will be going to school with Frida. The twins run off and Blanca sits down to talk to Pancho. She shares that she saw him crying. He blames it on the fact he was chopping onions. Blanca said it must have been several kilos worth of onions to make him cry like that. Pancho says “It was the onions.” Blanca goes on to tell him that whatever is happening to him that he can count on her.

Imelda sits in front of the church just thinking about what she had previously told Canuto about how much she once loved him. [Me thinks she probably still does love him.]

Canuto escorts Crisanta to her shop and she asks him to invite Dr. Robert Cooper to her grand opening. Canuto does not think this is a good idea because he is such a busy doctor. He is looking very nervous as she goes on talking about how that “old lady” next door is going to die when she find out how well Crisanta’s shop will do.

At Cklass, Julieta meets with Susana in her office. Susana tells her the one problem is that she did not consult with her before doing the project. Julieta explains that she has always worked independently, but Susana counters that now she her boss. Then she makes another request: To do the whole thing over again, her way. Susana is demanding that they stick to her plan. Julieta leaves Susana’s office and her phone rings. It’s Catalina calling to say that Blanquita has broken out into hives. Julieta is very upset and says, “Mom, I told you not to do this! I’m going over there now.”  She marches into Susana’s office and tells her she has to leave because of an emergency. At first Susana says she can’t but then Julieta says her daughter got sick. Finally, she gives and tells her to go take care of her daughter.

At Enzo’s exercise dance class, Blanca, Polita, and Amalia finish up. Enzo has Polita announce Audifaz’s book and she gives them all flyers. Meanwhile all the woman are later fawning around Enzo and Amalia is so very jealous.

Imelda arrives at the dress shop and sees Crisanta’s grand opening. She is very upset.

Dani and Gabe are going for a walk and she wants to propose something. Gabe is scared and thinks she wants a divorce. That’s not it. She is just wanting to have a different kind of marriage and is proposing that she become his girlfriend.

Canuto arrives at Robert’s office and Robert asks him to sit down. Robert says, “At this moment, we are not going to discuss your medical tests. I have to ask you some questions.” Canuto says, “What questions?”  Robert then says, “Why did you lie to me? You told me your name was Tito Cruz, but now I find out you are Canuto Córsega. You ARE my grandfather!”

Thanks for both the lively recap (with Cynthia thoughts in red) and the pictures. I feel like I've seen the episode already. And love it that there's a big reveal already. Yep, Canuto has risen from the grave for one Corsega family anyway.

And oh my! looks like there's no winning with Susana. Not just the Mom from Hell but the Boss from Hell. Presumably she envies Julieta for her seemingly perfect family life and work life, so unlike her own, and is sabotaging it deliberately to see if she can make Julieta fall apart. Not a good way to start a family relationship!

Well this promises to be lively every episode. Thanks so much Cynthia.

Fantastic from start to finish Cynthia. Nothing not to love throughout your excellent recap from the title, to the marvelous screen shots to your wry comments, especially "[Me thinks she probably still does love him.]".

I am surprised but pleased at least one truth has been told. The only saving grace is that the "children" are now adults and should be far better mentally equipped to deal with the fall out. That said, I think children are far more forgiving and this is just going to be one huge mess.

"Axel says, “Don’t you think things are getting out of control?” What an understatement!

"Canuto has risen from the grave for one Corsega family anyway" - so true Judy!!

“Then Crisanta says, “Don’t you want to ask your husband?” Julieta just looks at her and says, “What?” “Never mind” says Crisanta” made me smile. New meaning to generation gap.

Dani needs to stick to her creative roots. I enjoy though that she and Gabi have dissimilar talents, yet totally complimentary.

"Gabe is not thrilled about that because he knows that “Can we talk” is always bad". Yup, page 4 of the husband’s handbook.

What is with Audi's two tiny ponytails?? So distracting and just not attractive.

I thought Susana might be turning a corner but her insistence that Julieta redo the project says otherwise. So much anger and resentment! Give Julieta credit - she was "on" to her from the beginning and is very intuitive. Her hunch that Susana is a relative was spot on!

And Robert. Going from Robert Cooper with a loving family and brother to a new identity and a sprawling, ever increasing family. What a ride this has been for him.

I liked Blanca's quiet concern for Pancho. If only she would smile more.

Well, I'm smiling Cynthia. This was great - thank you.

Diana

Thank you, Cynthia. I so enjoyed your recap.

Diana, there is something about Audifaz that just screams “old hippie” to me. The two ponytails were just two too many. I, also, liked Blanca’s “quiet concern” for Pancho. He is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Blanca has always been.

I loved Robert looking at both family trees and seeing the same Canuto face looking back at him.

There is a “Dorian” in every classroom, isn’t there?

Good morning, patio.

Thank you, Cynthia, for the excellent recap and screencaps.

Is the dance instructor the guy who won a dance competition years shining Uni and called himself Latin Lover?

This show is a refreshing change from all the darkness and death in Bella.

The Imelda-Canuto-Casanta triangle shows us that decisions we make when we are young sometimes haunt us later in life.

It appears in that the wardrobe department has decided to demonstrate Susana's rigidness by putting her in those super tight sheath dresses. It looks as though they have one pattern and have made a closetful of dresses in different fabrics . My mother made me many of that style of dress...but not that fitted.😊 Well, Susana rocks the style. ...which is kind of Jackie Kennedy.

Have a good day. No rain here today and going up to 80. Bye for now..I am off to hear oral presentations.

Susanlynn, yes the character is Enzo (Latin Lover). I so agree about Susan’s dresses. They make me want to ditch the the black pants somehow I always end up in.

It is 80 here today. Nice break.

Time to put on a pot of coffee and get out of here.

shining = ago on

Jarifa, yes, there is always a Dorian! And usually bullies are portrayed as rough, tough and larger than life. Here's another instance where this show bucks the trends. Dorian isn't what I envision as the "typical" bully, although the chip on his shoulder is impressive.

"...the wardrobe department has decided to demonstrate Susana's rigidness by putting her in those super tight sheath dresses. It looks as though they have one pattern and have made a closetful of dresses in different fabrics". Great observation Susanlynn. That style is so tight and unflattering - Susana is one of the few that could pull that "luke" off.

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia!

Star Wars flashback! "Luke, I am your father." Wow, the writers did not let that secret hang around too long, but then very few do in this story.

Susanlynn - Good observation on Susana's dresses. Skin tight, no ease, no real room to move around, just like her mental state.

Telenovela wardrobe & set design departments always make statements with the garments any character wears. Even hair gets changed with new 'etapas' of a protagonist. After a while, I start noticing the art (on walls & sculptures) and other things by the set design department. It is all planned very well.

Thanks, Cynthia. Lovely recap. I love the pics especially of Sebas with his photo family tree.

Yep Susanna looks fab in those form fitting dresses. I like that the fabric is such that she doesn't have to pull at them when she stands up.

Hard to be sympathetic to Canuto, but he does seem to be a good dad to his second family. But such a weakling to only seek out family no 1 because his daughter got a new job in their town. Maybe over the years he secretly spied to see how his boys were doing?

Cynthia, thanks for such a wonderful recap and the screenshots were just as fabulous.

JudyB, "Boss from hell" is spot on, but as Diana said, "Give Julieta credit - she was "on" to her from the beginning and is very intuitive." Susana didn't fool Julieta at all. I just hopeo that Julieta doesn't let her get her down again.

I was expecting the big reveal about Canuto, but didn't anticipate him finding out the way he did. Kudos to the writers!

SusanLynn, on the wardrobe: "Susana rocks the style. ...which is kind of Jackie Kennedy." Yes, she does...and I always loved seeing what Jackie wore!

ITA that the writers are really keeping the plot moving without always going with what we would expect. I wonder if they are the same team that wrote the first season. LOL I am too lazy to find out eventhough I could . . .

Cynthia, thank you!

It's a small thing but I enjoyed seeing Canuto admit to Alex that he had spoken to Imelda, at his own tomb.

But I do find it hard to believe that Canuto, a decent guy, could go all those years not knowing anything of his first family... who had married, who had died, who had children, etc. Just hard to believe.

Rats! No show tonight.

Thanks for all your comments everyone. It will be interesting to see how Canuto responds to Robert.

I have no idea why a man would just stay away from his family. Maybe Imelda threatened him with poisoning their sons' minds against him if he ever came around. I could see her being so bitter that she could have come up with a number of threats to keep him away. Maybe she had "connections" (as in big strong male relatives) that she told him she would send after him if he ever showed his face again.

We shall see on Thursday!

Susanlynn: Let me guess: another murder mystery ?

Good Morning. Patio! I went out to put out the garbage for pick up and was greeted by this ->->->->->

Oh and pretty flower To Ms Chick. Look at you gettin all professional with the camara. SnapSnap. :-)

Thank you Cynthia!!! Sorry to be so late to the party.

The look on Robert's face when he realized the truth while talking to Sebs, and pulling at his collar, I couldn't help but laugh. He knows what is coming down the pike with Juli! HA!

Men don't have to be "bad" to leave their children, just lazy and cowardly. My father isn't a bad man per se and he had a little regret but it didn't stop him from abandoning toddlers for 20+ years.

Susana is like a woman I used to work with. She had an awful family life and took it out on her employees, always angry and controlling. Susana's problem is that she blames work for being an absent mother and thinks that if Juli can have it all then that means she could have had it too. Thus, she did something wrong. She can't admit that to herself yet so she has to make Juli lose it all too.

I think Canuto coming back into the lives of his children will do more harm than good. I actually think he should stay away at this point. After 58 years there are no excuses. I fear he gives Eugenio a hard attack.

Nina..good luck at your new job !!!!!

Carvivle, your comments were right on the money. My best friend's father was abusive , and her mother left with her and her three younger brothers . They really struggled , and my friend never saw her father again. Very sad. My grandmother left my dad's father when my dad when he was very young. My dad wanted nothing to do with his father, but I never figured out if my grandmother kept my grandfather away or if he stayed away. . I also know someone whose father left when he was a baby and never came back. When he finally researched him, he discovered that he went on to have another family .No chance to meet him because he had died. Unfortunately, there are many true stories of fathers alienated from their children.

RgvChick. extraordinary shot! Thank you for sharing.

Nina, congratulations on your new job! I hope you can stop by - you always have the best comments and make me laugh.

Diana

Nina, congratulations on your new job; I hope it works out well for you. Please do drop in when you are up to it. We will all miss your great comments.

andy

Thank you guys, I'm gonna make an effort.

I know stuff like that happen in real life but it make great movies.(mom or dad abandoning the children). Real life or movies, it sucks.
Maybe there's an interesting behind why he left. And then there's their just lousy parents.
