Mi marido tiene más familia Thursday 9/20/18 Capítulo 7 "It's All About Canuto"
Canuto tells Robert he is his grandfather. Robert cannot understand how he could have just disappeared. Canuto tells him to ask his grandmother about that. His second family does not know about his first family. Next, Canuto tells Axel about Robert being his grandson. Axel wants to know why he did not tell him earlier. Canuto says it was all too chaotic. Now more than ever Canuto has decided that he has to leave Oaxaca. Axel tells him to stay and face the truth. Back at home, Canuto goes as far as packing his bags and trying to sneak out and skip town but doesn't get to when Susana appears on the scene. He has to hide his bags. She questions him about his previous life in Oaxaca. He never has talked about his parents. Canuto refuses to talk about his past and no, he did not have any family.
Axel tells Robert what his grandfather just told him about his other family and what a surprise it was for him, too. Axel explains that they all came to Oaxaca because his mom was offered a very important job. Robert thinks silently that now he knows who Susana Córcega is. What can Axel and Robert do? Later, Susana tells Axel she is worried about her father wanting to leave. He says he knows nothing about it. He also tells her it is also too late for her to start worrying about her own family.
Robert talks to Imelda about Canuto not being dead. He tells her that he is alive but she insists she buried him over 50 years ago. She finally tells him the truth: that Canuto died for her the day she found out that he had cheated on her. Robert tells her she made a mistake and was selfish. She insists Canuto made a fool of her and her boys saw him as a hero. She wants it kept a secret. Robert tells her Canuto has another family and he knows some of them already. She angrily concludes that Canuto went on to have another family and she was left to support her family alone. Robert is leaving it up to her on how she wants to tell everyone the truth.
Daniela and Gabriel are going to pretend they are courting as a way to liven up their marriage. Daniela is not happy with traditional marriage and the implicit "rules" that come with it. If they do not have a different kind of marriage, she is afraid marriage is going to lose its appeal.
Julieta gets home to find out that Catalina put some concoction with nettles on Blanquita that gave her the rash. Julieta takes her to the hospital to see Robert. It turns out that Blanquita had just an allergic reaction. Robert tells Catalina she has to be more careful since Blanquita has such delicate skin. Julieta tells Robert that she is happy Dave has a friend but is not too enthusiastic about Sebas and his family. What do they know about them?
While Pancho and family are eating in the bakery, Eugenio tells them how his father died in an accident on a trip when he was a young boy. He waited for his father in this very bakery. He was supposed to bring him a red toy car. Pancho tells Julio to give Eugenio his red toy car. He does. Eugenio is pleased. Later, Audifaz and Eugenio wonder about what life would have been like if their father had never died.
Blanca is offended (again) that Julieta would let Dave go with Sebas and his grandma when she should be the one caring for him. They make up later. Julieta discovers hiring a nanny is not going to be easy.
Pancho sees Audifaz outside of the library wanting to sell his book but nobody is buying. Pancho takes out a wad of cash and buys one of the books. He then gets on the stairs of the library and gives Audifaz a lesson on how to SELL his book. A crowd gathers.
Crisanta is having her grand opening. Imelda has another plan to complicate Crisanta's life. When night falls, Imelda has Amalia turn off the power to Crisanta's store to stop her sales. It works. Crisants vows that Imelda will pay.
(BTW, Crisanta's store is called "CrisANCHA" because her clothes are for women who are not thin but have "wide" (ancha). . . hearts! I just loved it!)
When Robert gets home, Julieta notices something is wrong. He blames it on work. Susana calls telling Julieta that she needs to go over the the issues still pending for the photo shoot of their new catalogue. She just sent it to her. She will see her first thing tomorrow morning in her office.
******Since only Cynthia and I are available to recap, it is not possible to provide a full recap five nights a week. Sometimes there will be highlights or a short summary instead. Please feel free to include any other highlights or details that you would like to share in the comments. ;)

Re highlights and short summaries: I think the most important thing is we that have a place to meet and discuss, to get an idea what we missed, or to gripe about something that we didn't care for. A blow by blow recap is not necessary. A big "thank you" to you and Cynthia for taking on a tough task.
There are little things in this TN that are extremely nice touches, such as the little red car that Pancho's son gave Eugenio. It sure made Eugenio happy and Pancho and his kids really liked that. Another thing that I enjoyed, and which had me laughing, was the meeting of Catalina and Tavo in the hospital. She wasn't sure if he would remember her and he replied that she was "unforgetable". She picked up on that right away, surprised me.
It should be interesting and exciting when Crisanta and Imelda each learn that they are connected through Canuto. Convenient that he already has his tomb there, these two ladies might just put him in there for real.

Haven't seen this yet, but Canuto seems to be a very weak man indeed. Not up to any confrontation. That makes life difficult for him, and difficult for anyone who loves him and depends on him.
I too think CrisANCHA is a great name. Large women, large hearts. Works for me.
Thanks Jarifa for the recap keeping this Patio going.
“(BTW, Crisanta's store is called "CrisANCHA" because her clothes are for women who are not thin but have "wide" (ancha). . . hearts! I just loved it!)”. Jarifa, what a delicious nugget! Thank you so much. I love learning new things.
"Canuto refuses to talk about his past and no, he did not have any family". Weasel.
“He also tells her it is also too late for her to start worrying about her own family”. Axel and Robert may be related, but Alex lacks Robert’s kindness and compassion. Robert forgave Ana for abducting him and ruining many lives, yet Axel can’t be a bit unyielding toward his own mother. She has many flaws but I am fairly sure she loves him.
I am still confused by what actually occurred. Did Canuto cheat on Imelda (once?) and he went and started a new family because she never forgave him? And most importantly, was it Crisanta he cheated with? (Not that she had any idea he is married.
Lots of stubborness and refusal to forgive here. Another hurtful chain reaction when the truth gets out to everyone is sure to ensue.
Andy, you are so right in that the small details are what propels the heart and soul of this TN to another level.
And you are doing an amazing job Jarifa! I'll echo Andy and Judy's sentiments. Whatever you can do is greatly appreciated. I'm afraid I won't be able to add much except my perceptions but I will try.
Another day made even better by you Jarifa. Thank you.
Diana
Andy, you are so right by the little touches. That scene with the red toy car was very heartfelt. The viewer could see the little boy still in Eugenio.
Diana, “weasel” says it all! I hope we find out exactly what happened between Canuto and Imelda. Will Canuto really run? Hmmmm.
Odd how Julieta has had an almost visceral dislike to anyone in the “other” Córcega clan without knowing that they are Córcega’s. Seems like she can feel it in her bones . . . So funny.
So Julie doesn’t trust Sebastian’s family but still sent her kid off with them? What logic she got?
Julie doesn't seem to like anyone. Notice she has not friends. Co-workers and political family don't count!!!
Add me to the list of people who want to know exactly what happened between Imelda and Canuto. Infidelity is a slippery slope that people deal with in different ways. It looks as though Imelda could not forgive Canuto . Was it once? Many times? Was Cansante the other woman?
Jarifa and Cynthia - please do not feel like your recaps have to mention every single thing that goes on. This telenovela has *so much* happen in every episode (why we like it) that it is too much work to list everything. A bullet point style with the main stuff is enough for me. Thank you both(!!) for your willingness, dedication, time and labor. The Patio can fill in the holes.
"Weasel" is a great name for Canuto. What a coward. It wouldn't be surprising if he does a runner once he is outed, but staying around would be a better plot propeller.
"Convenient that he already has his tomb there, these two ladies might just put him in there for real."
Yes, Andy, you are so right!
Someone said Susana is likely jealous of Julieta, and that is an astute observation. Just wait and see the fireworks when Su learns Ju is her cuñada!
Both Canuto and Imelda are selfish cowards; they are both running from their lies which clearly have caught up with them...and its all about saving themselves from falling from grace.
Diana, Axel does seem to have kindness and compassion for everyone except his mother who he refuses to call "mother," doesn't he? He has a good job, so I'm wondering why he still lives with her if he despises her so much.
Anon 10:21, I don't think it was Julieta's decision to allow Dave to go with Sebas after school...Robert was the one who gave his okay. I think it was wrong of Blanca to take it upon herself to forbid Dave from going with Cris and Sebas when she didn't even notify Robert or Julieta what she was doing.
"I'm wondering why he still lives with her if he despises her so much". Excellent question Rgv Chick. And I don't like it when Axel and Sebas team up together against Susana. Boys seem to rally around their mothers, but not in this case. She also seems bitter about her Dr. huband (forget his name). She's paid a very high price for her managerial position. I think it might be fair to say that many do...
Can women do it all? Certainly. I think the question is whether or not the fallout is worth it. Being "absent", "emotionally unavaialable", "non-supportive". The list is endless.

It is a shame that Imelda , Cannot , and Chris are in this situation at this late date in their lives. A message to us all to think carefully about the decisions we make when we are young because those decisions...the good and The bad...can have consequences that reach far into The future and affect many other people.
This novela does well to discuss family dynamics. Now on that note i feel like in a way they are trying to play Canuto as the victim. Yes he is a coward for cheating and running away and starting another family. What does he want from Imelda exactly? Forgiveness? To see his sons and grandchildren. Im sorry i might be in the minority but he lost that right when he abandoned them and ran. If imelda has to do anything is just tell the family of what type of man their father was and hopefully they understand. I don't really blame her for acting as if he was dead. Because what really is buried in that tomb is the man she loved. For her its better to hold on to that memory of him rather than deal with the man he is. Some people never forgive an infidelity and its their right not too, regardless if it was once or more times.
Excellent! And I am at least 90% on Imelda's side.
Hope you comment more often.

Well put about Canuto. I am not a fan. The writers sure have complicated matters by making him such a “nice” guy.
doris, I cannot wait until everyone knows who Canuto is.
Susanlynn, so true about those golden years not being so golden.
Crisanta’s reaction should be memorable when it all comes out. She seems like a “no nonsense” type of person to me.
I blame both Canuto and Imelda. Canuto ran off, though he may have been somewhat chased off as well, but Imelda lied to her children about what happened to their father, which was unfair to them. And you never know when a lie will come back to bite you in the butt.
Unfortunately, this lie will hurt/upset more than just two people.
