Mi marido tiene más familia Wednesday 9/26/18 Capítulo 11 "It Really Is All About Canuto!--OR--" 'The Call Of The Blood' Makes It's Debut!"

The outing at the river continues.

Pancho arrives with his family and La Burra loaded with water toys, coolers, and food. (Pancho López has his own theme song!)Robert thinks that food should be bought from the food vendors wherever you go. Blanca agrees with Pancho that it is better to bring your own food because the food at these places is usually way too expensive.

Canuto has come to the river with Axel and Sebas. Imelda tells Canuto that he is already dead so he needs to go. He insists that he wants to stay to see his sons and reminds her that he has the right to. He stays.

Daniela accuses Gabriel of being jealous of Axel. Axel's presence continues to aggravate and push Gabriel into doing physical activities he has no interest in doing just to please Daniela and be a part of the "group." He ends up swinging on a rope over the water and dropping into the river and zip-lining. He reluctantly jumps off the diving platform with Daniela. His swim trunks come off and everyone laughs at him, of course. Daniela ends up telling Gabriel that she loves him and he is perfect just as he is. He never has to compete with anybody.

Ari takes Dave with him to play with the rest of the kids. Temo and Ari talk. Temo is afraid that his father will never accept him for who he is. Ari understands.

Pancho warns Robert to keep his family close because it can all disappear like dust in the wind. Robert make it clear he doesn't like Pancho hanging around his parents. Pancho makes it clear he still plans to because he likes Blanca.

Hugo and Diana's time at home is cut short with a call from Susana. She is suing him. In her office with her lawyers present, she wants him to confess. Hugo asks what is he supposed to confess to. It was an accident. If that is all he has to say, she will proceed legally. He gets on his knees and begs for her forgiveness. This cookie business is all he has. She asks him if Julieta had a role in this. It was an accident and Julieta had nothing to do with it. She is turning it over to the authorities and will pursue the issue until justice is done. Julieta calls Susana trying to explain it was an accident. Susana still does not believe that. She tells Julieta that she can come in later tomorrow thanks to her plan to get them all sick.

Dave falls into the river and cannot swim. Julieta jumps in, searches, finds him, and drags him to shore. He is not breathing. She screams for Robert who is not there. Finally, Canuto steps in and works tirelessly with chest compressions and breaths until Dave comes to. Dave is still alive thanks to him. Robert publicly thanks Canuto. Canuto says anyone would have done the same. Audifaz leads a cheer for Canuto. It turns out that Canuto learned his life saving techniques from when he was a fisherman.

Eugenio announces that Canuto is coming to breakfast at the Córcega's house tomorrow morning. Imelda is not happy. Robert tells her that this coming together today was no coincidence. It was the (legendary!!!!) "call of the blood". This was no coincidence. All of his sons know Canuto already. The truth is going to come out sooner rather than later. Imelda is still hemming and hawing about telling the truth. She finally agrees to tell the truth about Canuto in her own way. Robert tells Canuto that Imelda wants to be the one to tell her sons who he is. Canuto has so many regrets from the past.

Robert brings Blanca up to date. She is not up to keeping these kinds of secrets but will still go along with him. Blanca really likes Pancho and his family. She is sure Robert is really going to like them. Robert says nothing but by his expression it is clear he does not share that feeling.

Crisanta scolds Susana for going to work on a Sunday and neglecting her family. Tomorrow Sebas has an event at school. Susana will have to reorganize her workday to be able to go with him.

Later, Crisanta talks to Canuto as he makes supper. He has realized that life gives us second chances. After today, he also has concluded that he does have things to do in Oaxaca. She is happy she won't have to worry about him escaping one of these nights.

Blanca tries to get Imelda to talk but Imelda would rather pray. She has a decision to make.

This keeps just chugging along with so much attention to detail. There was the class difference between Robert and Pancho drawn so subtly when Pancho arrives with all of the food and Robert remarks that buying it from the vendors is the “right way” to do it. Then Blanca sides with Pancho for the same reason: food at these places are expensive. It is clear that Robert has never had to worry about/think about money in the same way as Blanca and Pancho have had to.

Poor Crisanta thinking that everything is A-okay with Canuto after hearing his statement about now having things to do in Oaxaca. If she only knew . . .

Jarifa, thanks yet again for another excellent recap.

I was a bit surprised when Robert said the correct thing to do was buy food from the local vendors. There is certainly nothing wrong with doing so, but there is no obligation to do so unless it's a "no food from outside" place. Robert definitely has an attitude with Pancho.

Imelda is looking better, maybe tomorrow they will dial down the lipstick a bit :-)

It was nice to see Diana taking care of her big baby. We wusses need some love too.

More and more I think Axel is a jerk.

Hi. Does anyone know where that particular river spot is? It's such a pretty place. It looks almost man made.

Marvelous Jarifa. Yet another morning delight.

Enjoyed “It was the (legendary!!!!) "call of the blood" and many others. But, it was your comment "There was the class difference between Robert and Pancho drawn so subtly when Pancho arrives with all of the food and Robert remarks that buying it from the vendors is the “right way” to do it. Then Blanca sides with Pancho for the same reason: food at these places are expensive. It is clear that Robert has never had to worry about/think about money in the same way as Blanca and Pancho have had to" that really hit home with me. Thank you for crystallizing something that never occurred to me.

"Axel's presence continues to aggravate and push Gabriel into doing physical activities he has no interest in doing just to please Daniela and be a part of the "group." Axel is a jerk. Good for Gabe not backing down. But I have to smile a bit as his facial expressions often mirror that of Zuria. Like sister, like brother.

"Robert make it clear he doesn't like Pancho hanging around his parents". I’m still a bit puzzled by this. Initially, I sensed Robert was displeased that Pancho seemed to bond with Blanca a bit too quickly. Perhaps a residual effect of his “lost years”. The dislike is just not in keeping with his character. But as noted above, class differences are also in play here.

So Susana wants to hurt Julieta by striking at the weakest link, Hugo. I was embarrassed at his kneeling, begging for forgiveness. I think Julieta got all of her brother's strength and resolve. Get a grip dude.

"It was nice to see Diana taking care of her big baby. We wusses need some love too." OMG Andy that was totally hysterical.

I feel for Crisanta too. There is nothing worse than being blindsided and she is going to be the one most devastated I fear.

What nice accolades for Canuto saving Dave. What a man. What a hero. What a zero.

Jarifa, this was fantastic. Your insights are so appreciated!

Diana

And the title was perfection.

Diana

Andy, yes, Robert has such an intense dislike of Pancho it is incredible. As for Axel, he is plain old obnoxious. Thinking of him and Sebas, I wonder what their father is like.

Diana, the “brought vs. bought” food really hit a chord with me. When I was growing up, we were part of the “brought” food group and I knew why. This same topic also was touched upon on Black*sh last season and was worth a few good laughs. “What a man. What a hero. What a zero” sure describes Canuto. It is even going to be worse now for Imelda with him riding into breakfast as that “hero”.

Anon, I have no idea where that swimming spot was either. It was beautiful though.

Btw, I couldn't believe how clear the water was when Julieta went under to rescue Dave. Hmmmmmm . . . 🤔

Excellent, jarifa, you hit all the main points wonderfully!

What a stressful episode for Julieta. Seeing Dave almost near death, then getting that call from Susana. I'm wondering why Susana tries to blame Julieta for everything bad that has been happening to her. Is she really so jealous ht she wants to bring Julieta down in any way she can?

My favorite scene: Gabe losing his shorts...that was hilarious!

Busy day...have good one, patio!

Wonderful Jarifa, you always do a great job and thank you.

I was glad to see Canuto turn out to be the man of the hour. At least Imelda had something to be grateful to him for because if he hadn't shown up, who would have done the CPR? It didn't seem like anyone else was there to do it. The two other doctors in the show were not even in shouting distance.

Wherever they are at, it looks like some kind of really nice resort. It's beautiful.

Thank you, Jarifa, I especially appreciate your recap because I missed last night's show.

The "bought vs brought" food debate was interesting. Our family used to get together with the families of friends for pot luck parties and picnics. Everyone brought homemade specialities, but one busy friend sometimes brought potato salad from the grocery store. The guys would tease her and say, "Did you make this yourself?" , and she would smile and say, " I bought it myself! "

Robert's behavior with Pancho is both sad and funny at the same time. Blanca has two guys "fighting" over her, one of them being her son.

Robert is generally such a nice guy that I just can't see him being so rude to Pancho ("the correct thing is...") unless he is extremely jealous. The two of them making faces at each other was hilarious.

andy

Thanks, Jarifa. Love the title.

I too am surprised by Robert's dislike of Pancho, but then I remember how that fake "Robert" in Mi Marido 1 took advantage of Blanca so I guess Robert thinks he's protecting her.

If I'm remembering correctly, Pancho operated a food truck at the start of Una Familia Con Suerte.

Andy, you are so right. It is like there is still a jealous “little boy” living inside of Robert. It is all of these nuances in the portrayals of the characters that make them so interesting.

Thanks, everybody, for stopping by the patio!

Niecie, thanks for the info on Pancho.
