Will Navarro, Colon, Nora & Castillo & Co., capture BPN ?
We'll find out soon enough!
I just realized that I forgot to mention that they have announced a new day for showing Falco. Apparently starting this week, it will be seen on SATURDAY at 9 pm, not Sunday!
novelera, I'm delighted that you'll be recapping this key episode of Falsa Identidad. ¡Muchas gracias!
ok, a quickie.
Soraya has her sit-down dinner with Alfonso, she has a plan to close the gap in the poles, but if he is elected, he is to make her first lady, not that anyone would recognize her (an obvious setup, if he goes for it he won't get any votes from the viewers)
is Martin dead, they cart off the kitchen girl, Dan reveals himself to Lucia, they have been through so much together, touching scene, and where is Vale, she escaped (the captions went crazy, did Lucia loose the baby when she tried to escape, and was the other girl Dan saved Vale, or did she escape earlier when she read this script)
3 months pass
Hernan and pregnant CM are off to Bogota, (can't remember if they ever said why, earlier it was to get married, right?) Jota ,Vale, and Paola are all good buddies, is Laura dead?
Diabla gets the bandages off and the doc gets paid, bullet to the head.
Alberio leaves Hilda, confesses his love for CG, Carlos hears all with his dog ears since they are quietly talking behind closed doors.
Diabla visits and reveals herself to Titi, along with Mari and Dayana they form the "Babe Cartel" (where is Villa).
Albeiro declares his love to CG along with flowers for her birthday, once she sees it won't hurt her mother, she's in, (is Santi still in jail, did anyone even tell Sebas)
Tony's replacement shows, Valeria Montes aka Diabla, she is at her pleasure.
deb, a million thanks for all your heroic recaps!! Even with this quickie, you still infuse your great snark. I especially enjoyed "Carlos hears all with his dog ears" and "Diabla gets the bandages off and the doc gets paid, bullet to the head."
In answer to your questions, yes, Lucia said she lost the baby when she tried to escape. And IIRC, Carlos said it was his job to find Laura, so I guess perhaps she's not dead. Then again, this is the first episode I've watched in more than two weeks, so I could be way off.
Did they really have to show us the fire again? I sometimes suspect that the writers are sadists. (Perhaps their depiction of Martin is veiled autobiography?)
Well, in retrospect, I'm glad I watched this novela. It will help me appreciate other novelas by comparison. :-)
DEB:
THANKS ..YOU REALLY HUNG IN THERE..
its was deep and kind of weird..they dropped story lines.. they never showed Valentina???
I THINK THIS SHOW WAS SCRUBBED..!
BUT THAT ALBIERO AND CATAGRANDE..WTF!!!...Santiago WAS DOGGED OUT!1
malefic..evil eye and jink...CATALINA GRANDE IS A JINK !!!!
I thought the TEA AGENT from the stake out was the new diabla face.. SO HER WALKING INTO THE office would have made more sense..so did Mendiate/black hand put her there..
that chick is ugly.. and the booty pants really!! fake , they might fall off..
...doctor ,,please have an ace card like a letter to the TEA!! to be open in case of my death...
I know she is going to kill Mariana ,sooner or later..good
who knows...??who cares... I will be watching SIN PECHOS HAY PARADISO from Colombia[5 disk] version over the hiatus..the version where Octavio is albiero ??!![yuck]..
GOD ,I WAS DISAPPOINTED, NOT HAPPY at all with this series..it was a choppy, stupid incoherent HOT MESS... and I had background... they need to let some series die and good death...
but they are beating a dead horse..just take it into a new generation..
HALIMACANDY: Aracely Arambula from "La Dona" & her sidekick Matamoros are BACK!
Thanks, Deb, for this and all of your succinct but informative and humorous recaps.
Yes, Laura is still alive, Carlos said (paraphrasing) "I guess I should find her, since you (Hilda) have helped me so much. Laura's no longer where Jota found her." So apparently Paola revived Jota, but Laura left??? And I had thought the other girl that Daniel saved was Valentina, but no, she escaped (to where?) so Daniel wants to find her. And if Laura is still alive, what happened to her powers over Paola?
The whole thing with CataG not believing Santi (whom I guess is in jail for life by now), and Albeiro leaving Hilda because a) she's been too nice to Carlos, and b) Catalina's the love of Al's life, he has to stop fooling her - is ludicrous, just a ploy to get those two together. She says as soon as she knows her Mom is not suffering, she'll call Al. BTW, new Diabla asked Calvo if he has reconquered Hilda (answer, no), so THAT's still on the table, too.
Mariana has a new hairstyle, long and curly, all 3 of the cartel ladies have that now, with their new Cartel, the Babies, or Bebes.
At least Martin is dead, but the whole jump from last episode to this one was very disconcerting, we have to assume everything that went in between.
And that famous plastic surgeon gets killed as we all knew he would.
I still don't see how Tony died from a knife stab in the leg. And having Diabla easily infiltrate the TEA and become Cata's new bodyguard was really the last straw for me.
So we have a Gran Final with no action, no resolution (most of that happened in the penultimate episode) and lots of new plotlines for next season. That's the same thing they did after Season Two. So, even though I love watching Carmen Villalobos, sorry writers and producers, I'm not coming back for Season 4. The show is just TOO STUPID. I guess if I could see it as a comedy....but no.
But it has helped with understanding the Colombian Spanish accent.
I'm looking forward to Falsa Indentidad, please don't let it be a "super series"!
Hombre: I'm not shocked Albiero dumped Hilda for the original Catalina....
Who do you think Hilda will end up with next Season ?
PS: Carmen Villalobos is pretty damn good!
Deb, thanks so much for all your hard work spinning straw into gold.
You had said you weren't going to recap the final. I considered doing it, but was so disgusted that I couldn't force myself.
So they don't bother to tell us if Santiago is awaiting trial, stabbed by someone who hates CataG in jail, or has had one of those lightning fast telenovela trials and has been convicted.
I guess plastering a ton of makeup on the actress managed to make Diabla's stolen face look hard and awful somehow. And, yes, her hindquarters are ridiculous. I had actually not noticed that she told the doctor she wanted the "works" until I read it in deb's recap.
So Yésica and Mariana managed to grow long, long locks in 3 months. And it looked like Carmen had shorter hair.
I DID enjoy Hernán and CataM being so happy and leaving for Bogotá. She had a little belly as well. Maybe those two aren't coming back for Season 4.
I am certainly not going to sit through any more of this "bait and switch" telenovela.
thanks all!
yep, like Gregorio Pernía (Titi) said early on, they only filmed enough for about 40 shows.
Juanita, thanks for the info on Lucia, and yes, really did they have to show us the inept waterless firemen bungling the rescue of Ximena, one of the original actors from day 1.
Halimacandy, yep "CG is a jinx", but I do find the character intriguing, never has there been such a smart, able, and well meaning person who consistently ruined the lives of all those around her, (although it was more fun to watch in Sin Senos No when she was running with the narcos and ruining their lives, she did more then to end the drug trade in Colombia than she ever did in the TEA), I think about every catastrophe in this show can be traced back to a time when she either ignored something or never got around to doing something about it.
and Albeiro, she really took him for a ride in Sin Senos No, and now he is back for more, he'll never see what hits him, the real love of his life is his daughter, convenient that CG never told him it was Mari that had her house bombed.
Hombre, thanks for the the info on Laura, and yep, stoopid!
Diabla being a replacement for Tony, doesn't say much for the TEA procedures.
what happened to Titi becoming king, now he is tied in with 2 idiots and his worst enemy in the Babe Cartel, both he and Diabla are suppliers, competitors, only Titi has a Mexican connection, Villa, so he didn't need any of these others, or should we assume Dayana killed Villa and is handling his business.
novelera, thanks so much for your comments all along, yep, I went ahead with writing up the gran final, because nothing happened.
What I heard was Cartel de los Babies. I'm not sure it even refers to Mariana, Dayana and Diabla, although it could. I think it might be because there is Mariana's baby and Yésica's baby, presumably both on the premises.
I've noticed that the writers like to throw in badly pronounced English. Titi, always says Money Money for the American Dream, with the worst accent in English I've ever heard, with the possible exception of a SuperShuttle driver from Belarus who took me to the airport my last big trip (Spain).
I am also wondering how long it will take Diabla to kill Mariana. But I don't want to know badly enough to watch Season 4.
The screen is labeled: a desert in Sonora, Mexico. We see two white pickup trucks and a motorcycle racing down a dusty road with lots of cactus and not much else. They are somewhere not too far from Álamos in the State of Sonora. There’s lots of nifty Mexican slang in this one and a Colombian accent that I could easily recognize after Sin-Senos3.
These people aren’t chasing each other. They’re about to do some work. Diego Hidalgo appears to be in charge of this project. He calls someone and tells him to close the ducts. And that the refinery is on the other side of a mountain, so no one could possibly see them. They start digging with pickaxes.
We change scene to the office of the municipal president of Álamos. He’s gotten a call about there being some huachicoleros in the desert and that the Governor has given him the green light to go after them. Huachicoleros are people who steal gasoline or diesel fuel. The Internet says this has become a very lucrative economic activity and that the residents of areas where this happens sort of tolerate it.
Those are some good pickaxes because we soon see a huge hole about 10 feet deep. Diego’s friend Davied uses sort of a sharp roto-hammer to puncture the pipe and gas shoots out. They attach a hose and start pumping.
A lookout sees a bunch of black jeeps with the federales on board. The gang turns off the flow and runs for it. A chase ensues with the cops hot on their trail. We see Diego is not that much of a villain because he tells Davied to only shoot out the tires.
So Sonya Smith plays Fernanda Orozco, the mother of both Diego and the municipal president Eliseo Hidalgo. Her nasty husband is Augusto, who seems to spend all his time hanging around his stepson’s office. He almost orders her out of the room when she comes in with coffee.
One of the feds has managed to get a cell phone photo of Diego when he turns around in his driver’s seat to see how the pursuit is going. Eliseo and Augusto see this picture and Fernanda gulps.
Diego, on his cell, tells a guy he calls Gato to take the stolen gas to the ranch of Don Gavino. He says he’s going to, I think, Magdalena, to give someone some of the extra. Davied is not in favor of his giving away some of the valuable gas, but Diego wants to give something back.
We then see the typical palatial narco ranch, owned by one Don Gavino Gaona. His right-hand man, José, tells Gavino that Diego has 10,000 liters in two trucks. Gavino is impressed; he says that makes 50,000 liters in one week. José starts griping about Diego getting 60% of the profits from the stolen gas. Silvia, Gavino’s wife (with the Colombian accent) sticks up for Diego, saying he takes all the risks. Plus, he’s going to be part of the family since he’s soon to marry Gavino’s daughter. Gavino tells his wife to shut it; he married her for her looks, not her opinions.
But Gavino tells José that Silvia is right. Diego will be family, and you never betray family. José starts in on what is apparently a familiar song he sings: Diego is not the man for Circe. No esta de la altura de ella.
We then see Circe working with her hawk. She’s apparently into falconry. Diego calls Circe, sweet talks her, and says he’s got a ton of work and some gringos to see. After he hangs up, Davied sneers: “What gringos?” Davied apparently is more of a guy for the main chance, because he tells Diego he should marry Circe and the implication is that it’s because of whose daughter she is. Davied is shocked he’s going to hook up with another woman.
Diego: “Marry, me?” Diego wants to be like their godfather, Don Miguelón, who recommended pasando de flor en flor hasta que se acabe el pollen (go from flower to flower until there’s no more pollen).
We first see Isabel Corona in a hospital bed with her face banged up. Zoraida, an older woman who is a friend, is there. Zoraida tells her she has to leave him. The doctor comes in and tells her they had to do an “intervention”, un legrado (a dilation and curettage). She lost a baby she didn’t even know she was expecting. The doctor says he’s sure she’s been beaten.
Don Mateo Corona pours water on his son, Porfirio, who has been face down sleeping on a table full of empty beer bottles. Mateo reminds him he has to pick up Isabel and that Porfirio needs to convince her not to press charges or else they’ll take the children (from Mateo and Porfirio, I think he means).
Meanwhile back at the ranch, José is still harping about Diego. He says that Diego is not interested in the cartel business, nor in Circe. Gavino loses his temper, tells him to shut it until he catches him pero con los pelos de la burra en la mano just let it go. [I assume this means red-handed; I could not find an exact definition.]
José puts a tracking device in Silvia’s phone.
Isabel reminds Zoraida that her husband is the son of the Chief of Police. Zoraida is afraid he’ll start hitting Amanda or Ricardo, the children.
Diego drives up to some deserted warehouse and calls out asking if someone is playing hide and seek. It’s Silvia, Gavino’s wife. And the two of them start to go at it like weasels. [I’m surprised they’re on a flimsy old table. I’d have brought in a mattress by now.] Of course José’s tracking device tells him where she’s gone. He tells some other guy: ¡Este arroz ya se coció! (It’s a done deal!)
Shades of Laura in Sin-Senos. Felipa, Circe’s former nanny, smokes a cigar and reads Circe’s tarot cards. She says Diego is unfaithful and will ruin her life. She also says that Circe will lose her man but become head of a cartel.
José sneaks up and takes a video of Silvia and Diego en flagrante, then quietly leaves.
Isabel comes home to embrace her children. Her rotten husband shows up and starts right in with the jealousy, asking who brought her home. She says that it was Zoraida. He sings the crappy song of batterers everywhere: “You provoked me!” He calls her Chabela, which is a common nickname for Isabel. She looks at him scornfully, saying that the whole thing started when he accused some guy who was helping her with bags of groceries of wanting to go to bed with her. She then tells him he killed his child.
José doesn’t gain any points with Circe by showing her the video. She calls him lamebotas (bootlicker, suck up). And she asks what he did to get her guy to fall into his trap. Gavino reminds her that Diego was with HIS woman. José sticks his oar in, reminding Gavino that Silvia always defended Diego. Circe pipes up and says that Silvia es bien facilota (easy). José reveals what’s really on his mind by saying that Diego doesn’t love Circe like he does. She snaps at him, calling him envious. Gavino settles things: “These idiots are going to die!”
Circe tells her father not to kill him. SHE wants to do it.
Porfirio asks Isabel if the baby she lost was his. Yes, sadly for me, you were the first man in my life. I was a very young girl when I took up with you. She insults him a bit, and he goes for her again, backhanding his daughter when she comes to her mother’s aid.
Gavino tells Circe she can go and kill Diego, while he waits here for Silvia. He tells her this is her test, her baptism to show him she can take the reins of the business by herself. But José and some guys go along. Gavino tells José to kill Diego if she cannot.
A guy named Salas, who apparently works for Eliseo, approaches him and tells him that a couple, gringos and their child of six, were tourists killed in a robbery. Their names were Emiliano and Camila Guevara and their son, Max. Eliseo finds this to be very bad news and says that one more scandal and he can kiss being Governor goodbye.
Fernanda tells her son Eliseo that he can’t let Diego ruin his political career. Augusto, nasty jerk that he is, tells Eliseo to turn his brother in.
Diego arrives at, I think, his home. He greets some guys sitting around the kitchen table. His former nanny, Lupita, greets him fondly. She’s prepared some soup just the way he likes it. He says he needs a shower; he stinks. She says he smells of a woman.
Isabel is very submissive toward Porfirio, while the jerk blames her for his having raised his hand to his own daughter. When he leaves to go “talk” with that doctor, she starts packing.
Silvia comes out of the shower, sees Gavino’s fury, and tries telling him Diego was attempting to rape her. He shows her the video and then shoots her dead in the shower.
A truck full of guys, and Circe, arrive at Diego’s and start shooting for what seems like 15 minutes, apparently killing all the men who were around the table. Diego saves Lupita.
Don Mateo tells his son, having brought Porfirio home, that the doctor wanted to file charges for spousal abuse. His jerk son grins and asks who is going to bother him considering that his papá is el mero mero de la policia (the honcho). Mateo tells him he needs to find a better way to “educate” his wife or the same thing will happen that happened to him (seems Mateo’s wife took off). Porfirio actually yells: “No, Chabela won’t leave me. She loves me.” Mateo: “Then, where is she?”
We see Isabel and her children getting on a bus.
Diego has gotten Lupita out of the house, but turns and sees Circe pointing a gun at him. He gives her an imploring look, then turns his back on her and runs. She can’t shoot. José tries to shoot him, but is out of ammunition. They blow up Diego’s house.
Eliseo tells his mother, Fernanda, that Diego could not get over the loss of their father. We see a scene from the past, at the funeral, when Diego looks about 8 and Eliseo around 14. Eliseo swears to always take care of his little brother.
José and Circe catch up with Diego as he’s crossing a creek. She wants to know why…why with that … He apologizes. He says he wasn’t thinking clearly. When she doesn’t shoot, José grabs the gun, but she pushes his arm, causing him to miss. And Diego beats it out of there.
Eliseo asks some guy to help him with the order to apprehend his brother. He says he’ll make an official announcement. Just then Diego comes up behind his brother and tells him he’s here; it’s OK to arrest him.
Gavino yells at Circe for not killing Diego, while the lamebotas assures the boss that he tried to kill him. Gavino tells his daughter he’ll never be able to trust her. If only he’d had a son. He tells her he knew the day she was born that she’d never make it.
Diego tells Eliseo, anguished, that all the people at the ranch, the people who worked for him are dead; and it’s his fault. “Remember Lupita? She was like my mother, and they almost got her too.” Eliseo: “Well, what did you expect? Being with the wife and the daughter of … Diego: “Aren’t you listening? There are innocent people dead because of me. They have children. Think how many orphans there will be.”
Eliseo: “Have you thought about how it’s going to play when they find out that my brother is un huachicolero que roba del estado? Have you realized you’re contributing to finishing my political career?” Diego: “No, I wasn’t thinking of this. I was thinking of survival. All these people depended on me. I apologize if this affected you. If you think I was like that, then arrest me or let the cops do it. You decide.”
Zoraida is at Eliseo Hidalgo’s house. I realize she must be the housekeeper. She tells Isabel she doesn’t think Corona will dare to come there. Isabel admits she doesn’t really have a plan. Her father hasn’t spoken to her since her mother died and she ran off with Corona.
Eliseo tells Salas not to say anything about this poor family of gringos. He needs his brother to assume the identity of one of them and flee the country. He tells him that his brother is in a big mess with the Gaona cartel. And, it’s not enough for him to leave the country; he has to assume the identity of someone else.
Salas says he can change the passports OK. But, if 3 came to Mexico, 3 have to go back. The USA would check how many return and be suspicious. Plus, the narco will be looking for your brother at the boarder, but not for a family.
Diego calls Davied. He tells him he doesn’t know how, but they discovered he was seeing Silvia. Davied tells him things are hot at the ranch. There is no sign of Silvia, and there is a half a million pesos price on Diego’s head.
Eliseo comes into the kitchen and hears Isabel’s story from Zoraida, who is only hoping to put Isabel and the children up for a while. A light bulb goes on over Eliseo’s head.
Diego tells his brother about the price on his head, and Eliseo tells him that he has a solution: a new identity and a new family. Diego: “Are you nuts? How can I be responsible for una morra I don’t even know and un plebe que no es mío. Eliseo: “Listen. When you cross the border the cartel will be waiting for you. But, if you cross as Emiliano Guevara and his wife and child …”
Diego: “What, pretend to be someone else my whole life?” Eliseo: “At least until I put those cabrones behind bars.” Diego: “Be realistic. You’ll never get those perros in jail.” Eliseo tells him that he lost his father and he won’t lose Diego.
Eliseo explains to Isabel that he’s found a way to help her. He can get her a US passport, but she’ll have to pretend to be that person. And, not only to cross the border, but until the danger is past. You’ll need to pretend to be someone’s wife. The bad news is that they only have a passport for the boy. Amanda will have to stay.
Porfirio calls Zoraida, ordering her to put his wife on the phone. Zoraida says she hasn’t seen her since the hospital. He threatens to come there even though the house belongs to an important person. Amanda tells her mother she has to go.
Gertrude, er, Fernanda rags on her younger son. She asks him why he’s stealing gas. With great sarcasm he tells her that a few years ago she and her husband threw him out of the house. “Now do you remember? I had to do this to survive.” She tells him she threw him out because he was out of control. He replies that she didn’t have the energy to get him under control because she needed all her energy for her husband. She retorts that she married Augusto more for necessity than for love. And that’s because his father didn’t teach her how to manage things. Diego replies that he’s heard this refrain more than the National Anthem.
Gertrude, er, Fernanda tells Claudius, er, Augusto that Diego is there. Augusto calls Gavino and rats out his stepson. Apparently he’s in with the cartel up to his neck.
Gavino says they’re going in shooting. [What? He plans to shoot up the house of the Municipal President?]
Isabel asks Eliseo to promise to care for Amanda as if she were his own. He promises.
Diego sees a news bulletin showing Silvia’s corpse hanging from a bridge with a sign around her neck: Te estamos buscando
Circe calls Davied to tell him to warn Diego.
Eliseo tells someone to take the bodies of the dead Americans to the 14 km point of some highway. Eliseo promises to arrange a decent burial for the Guevaras after Diego is safe. Salas brings the Guevara car.
Isabel tells her daughter she’ll get her as soon as possible. In fact, she’ll call her every day. [Not a good idea in case Mateo can trace calls.]
Eliseo tells Diego that, after he crosses the border, he needs to get a room in a certain motel near the bus station in Nogales, Arizona. A guy he knows will find them, give them keys to a house and some documentation they’ll need for a new life. He also tells him that these passports ARE legal. He’s spent a bunch bribing people, but it’s all set.
Got my page numbers mixed up. Started off thinking I had six, but there were five!
Wow, novelera!! What an amazing recap!! And boy, did I need it. You did a terrific job of making clear who was who and what was what. I'm definitely planning to continue to watch this novela, which has some of my favorite actors--Luis Ernesto Franco, Uriel del Toro, and Sonya Smith, to name the three that come to mind most quickly. And so I'm especially delighted that you've helped me sort out the plot elements so clearly and quickly.
I also appreciated all the Spanish. There was a lot I'd missed.
Looks like Luis Ernesto Franco's role is somewhat similar to his earlier one of Rodrigo in Bajo el Mismo Cielo--the bad guy who is really decent at heart. I hope he comes to a better end here than he did in Bajo! I confess that I'm having a hard time adjusting to Uriel del Toro as a bad guy, after he did such a convincing job of playing the super decent and lovable Andrés in Al Otro Lado del Muro. OTOH, I'm glad they're not restricting the kind of roles he'll play.
I also am happy so far with the plot. Clearly, both Diego and Isabel are in situations where they have every reason to leave. After months of Sin Senos, I'm delighted to see a plot that seems at least somewhat believable and characters that I might care about.
Again, MANY MANY THANKS!!
wow, novelera, this is amazing! such a wonderful recap for the first show to get us all oriented, complete with names and spanish, you're the best!
interesting that Diego takes the leftover gasoline and gives it away.
those guys at his house that all got killed must have been his crew that he sent ahead while he met with the senora.
this should be an interesting match with Isabel, since she has only known Porfirio, and it looks like sex was more like rape, at least that's what it was going to be when she got home from the hospital.
I find Circe an interesting character, too bad Jose will always be sniffing around, (Uriel del Toro makes a good bad guy)
Circe- Greek nymph (spirit of nature), goddess of magic.
all in all, a lot because of the same characters and similar locations, I'm having trouble shaking off Senora Acero, and Sonya Smith's role in "Familia Perfecta" as the wild haired, beer drinking, cigarette smoking, redneck, "this is america, we speak english here".
and so we are left with Gavino with a couple truck loads of thugs as well as Porfirio headed to the mayor's house.
Thanks for the kind words. And I hope my Hamlet reference didn't miss the mark. Diego=Hamlet; Fernanda=Gertrude; Augusto=Claudius.
Nett: We all know how "OTRO LADO" turned out... more connections to people & more danger.
Novelera: Last but not least Uriel del Toro as the EVIL Joselito (formerly known as Andres Suarez in "OTRO LADO").
I felt bad for Silvia, getting murdered in the shower like that ? SMH.
Deb: Gavino is one bloodthirsty PSYCHOPATH!
Juanita, thanks for the tip on Falco moving to Saturday, I see from a tv guide that Exatlón will move into it's slot (who's going to watch this for 3 hours?) and that Falco will go to 2 hours on Saturday, hmm.
Thanks VERY much, deb, for letting me know that Falco will run for TWO HOURS on Saturday. God forbid Telemundo could have included that in the quick heads-up they provided about the time change. After reading your message, I went to the Telemundo site and eventually found their listings for next Saturday. Sure enough, Falco will run for two hours. Whether that means two different episodes or one 2-hour episode remains unclear. Arrgh.
I'm wondering whether Telemundo is trying to get rid of the show as quickly as possible. They certainly didn't feature it on their web site when I tried just now to get information. I had to poke around.
Anyway, I'm about to put up the Thursday Telemundo y Más page. I had planned to indicate that Falco was switching to Saturday, but without your heads up I'd have had no idea that it would run for two hours. So again, MANY THANKS!
I was able to ease into the primer, given it replaced the 2pm CASO CERRADO...
my husband and I watched and I will check out the reviews and board...
I hope the novela continues to be as exciting as it currently is. And I kept backing up trying to read Sergio Goyri's (Gavino Gaona) lips. He's cursing up a storm! That scene with Eliseo Hidalgo was great. Please, writers, don't let Gavino kill him! I really like Eliseo. And I admired the way he got all over his rotten stepfather about not knowing Gaona financed his campaign.
I can't see how having a guard outside Amanda's room can keep Fernanda and Augusto from discovering that she's there. I was biting my nails about her calling her father back.
In a way Circe falls into the classic "other woman" mold, in that she's obsessed with Diego and willing to do anything to get him back. In another way, she's very interesting, besides being gorgeous. The way her father treats her seems to me to guarantee she'll work against him, perhaps even killing him. [Definitely not a spoiler; I know nothing about what's going to happen.]
I was disappointed in Diego for coming on to Isabel. It was mild, but still very inappropriate, in that this is supposed to be only an arrangement to protect both of them with the US passports.
And she was, in my opinion, pretty silly to expect separate rooms. Eliseo gave him a limited amount of cash, just to tide them over until the contact in Arizona can meet up with them. I guess if I were in her shoes I'd put the proverbial line of towels down the middle of the bed and go to sleep!
Fernanda did sort of speak up to Augusto. Apparently she placated him in the past by sending Diego to military school to get him out of the house. It appears to me that the older boy was more able to go along to get along. And he accepted Augusto in a fatherly role. But Diego was not that kind of child, and he deeply resented his stepfather. [And why not, the guy is a massive jerk!]
great comments novelera!
yep, Perla Farías (the writer) has once again given us some interesting characters, but I wish there weren't so many bad guys, and our good guys seem to be isolated.
not only does Jose just drive right across the border but he bribes the american guard to give him all the info he has on Diego and his car.
and I'm guessing it's only matter of time before they snatch Amanda the daughter, too bad Ricardo the son left his stuffed dinosaur on the table.
the synopsis in wiki touched on the early life of Isabel of which they showed us some last night, Porfiio was an up and coming singing star, that she jumped on for the ride.
and Porfirio's dad, what a loser, has him convinced Isabel left because she has a lover, (which parallels his life ??) but wait till Circe finds out Diego is now married, (actually the Diego we know now makes a pretty good match with Circe, but I think someone in the story commented that he doesn't love anyone).
Augusto makes a pretty good argument for politicos and narcos being the same and throws in Eliseo for using the law to help his criminal brother, this is one guy that needs to be gone.
interesting that Eliseo lied and said Diego perished in the fire, but the million peso reward he put on Gavino got some attention (they made it pretty clear last night that Gavino can go anywhere and do anything he wants even though he is a wanted man, Augusto referred to a deal with the governor, he's untouchable).
Halimacandy, do you recognize the actor playing Deivid as the loser husband from "Jenni".
Deb, you inspired me to look up Pepe Gámez (Deivid) on IMBD. I had definitely recognized him, but couldn't place where I'd seen him. He actually was in Pasión (must have been very young then) and also in Pasión Prohibida, which I saw most of but gave up 3/4 through. He was also in Dueños del Paraíso, which I did see all of.
I think the odd spelling of his character's name is so it's pronounced the name way as we say David in English. Normally, in Spanish, names spelled David are pronounced "Dahveed".
