TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#2): Falsa identidad, El señor de los cielos 6, Falco, y más: Week of September 10, 2018

TELEMUNDO WEEKEND EDITION (continuación)

Here's Page 2 for the week.  The current evening telenovelas are as follows (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):

• 9-10PM—Falsa identidad
• 10-11PM—El señor de los cielos 6
• 9-11PM (Saturdays)—Falco

Heads Up: Falco has been moved from Sunday to Saturday. This Saturday it will run for two hours, from 9 PM to 11 PM, EDT. Whether that means there will be two one-hour episodes or one episode lasting for two hours isn't yet clear.

A promising new telenovela, Falsa identidad, just started this Tuesday. It stars Luis Ernesto Franco, Camila Sodi, Uriel del Toro, Sonya Smith, and Sergio Goyri, among others.  Those of us who suffered through the turkey that was Sin senos sí hay paraíso 3 may finally have reason to rejoice.

Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation.  Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.

By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

HALIMACANDY: Altagracia Sandoval & Matamoros from "La Dona" joined the cast.

identidad

Well, I wasn't expecting that! Diego and Isabel had to leave Nogales because their fake names are now involved in a shooting death. And the cops didn't even mention Diego's carjacking!

So they are back in Mexico, but in Mexico City.

And it appears that Circe has gotten Eliseo to take a look at his snake of a stepfather. That whole movement of the cocaine was very confusing to me. Somehow I didn't get that Augusto would actually be riding with the stuff. He's kind of a big deal actor, so I doubt he'll be grabbed up by Eliseo's team that he sent to check the Nogales border crossing.

I hope the writers begin making Isabel more sympathetic. The way it was left last night, it appeared she was going to Marlene's house (Geraldine Bazán) and not even telling Diego she'd gone. Of course the plot will reunite them, but I'm not aware she has any way of contacting him even if she cared enough about him to call to say she was staying with someone else.

And, at this point, they've kind of blown up the plot in that the falsa identidad to get them into the US is of no use. And there isn't a reason we've seen yet that Diego, Isabel, and Ricas need to be together any more.

Wow! Uriel del Toro is pretty good at being vicious. I wasn't expecting him to order the killing of the poor car lot woman.

And Sergio Goyri is fantastic as Gavino. He's totally believable as a macho jerk who snarls at his daughter for her lack of huevos. I wouldn't go so far as to call him likeable, but you can't take your eyes off him when he's in a scene.

Pretty impressive scene of José ice-picking his own hand.

Identidad

thanks novelera! the plot's moving right along isn't it.

is it Game Over, as Max/Ricas puts it?

the no calls to Mexico isn't working so well as Diego keeps calling his brother, so now he's in Mexico city in a dumpy apartment and working a never ending job cleaning office buildings, "what, are you loco", he asks Eliseo, who tells him about putting a price on Gavino's head, and that his calling is putting everyone at risk.

I guess the logic is that the narcos control everything but Mexico city so it's a good place for Diego to get lost, kind of a twist that he is an undocumented american working there illegally.

and Amanda answered a call from her dad, is that a high school girl his dad is sleeping with?

Circe has a thing for Diego as she tries to work around the fact he is traveling as married and with a kid, Jose adds he looks just like him.

but the nanny's cards say forget about Diego, Circe is destined to run the cartel and needs to hook up with a bigger fish, Eliseo.

"IDENTIDAD":

Novelera: Sergio Goyri is good being the uppity JACKASS & bloodthirsty psychopath.

I remembered Geraldine Bazan from "PASL" on Univision. Was Jose ice-picking his own hand ? Why ?

Deb: I see that the Cartel has more people involved bigger with possible political connections & spies inside law enforcement.

identidad

Steve, José icepicking his own hand was kind of a smart move. He saw what happened to Pichitos (think that's the guy who Diego outsmarted with the U-turn on the road away from Casa Eliseo). He got the crap beaten out of him by Gavino for failing to catch Diego. I guess José preempted his own punishment and Gavino admired him, saying that, if he had 3 more men like José he'd be in good shape. And thus insulted the other guys hanging around.

Identidad

Wow, this novela keeps moving along. Augusto goes with the bad guys as they bring the cocaine across the border. Oops, this time they don't succeed. The federales intercept them, and a huge gun fight ensues. Augusto tries to run away. Ramiro, the procurador who has led the attack by the federales, sees someone running away and runs after him. Augusto eventually stops, tells Ramiro not to shoot, and identifies himself. He claims that he was kidnapped and forced to come with Gavino's men to help them get the mercancia across the border. Just then, one of Gavino's men comes upon them and shoots Ramiro. Augusto is furious. Gavino's man (I don't know his name) tells Augusto that by shooting Ramiro he saved Augusto, and now Augusto has to finish off the still alive Ramiro. He gives Augusto a gun. Augusto points the gun at Ramiro but finally says he can't do it. Gaviro's guy tells him that Gaviro will be furious, and it will be either Ramiro's life or Augusto's. It's Augusto's decision. Augusto decides. He kills Ramiro.

When Augusto gets back home, he hides the gun in the toilet tank as Eliseo bangs on the bathroom door for him to come out. Eliseo accuses Augusto of being involved with the cocaine shipment. He tells Augusto that one of Gavino's people told him that there would be a big cocaine shipment today, and Eliseo accuses Augusto of being involved with that rather than with what Eliseo had asked him to do. Augusto tells Eliseo to check with the Customs guy--he was with him. The Customs guy backs up Augusto's alibi. Augusto asks Eliseo who told him about the cocaine shipment. To my astonishment, Eliseo tells him that it was Circe, Gavino's daughter. I was disappointed in Eliseo's giving her up, and to Augusto. Not exactly a smart political move, especially since what Circe told him turned out to be true. And, of course, Augusto immediately calls Gavino to tell him that Circe was the one who sold him out. At the very end of the episode, Gavino confronts Circe. He tells her that he's going to kill her.

One other important point. Seemingly out of the blue, after the confrontations between Eliseo and Augusto, Fernanda goes into the bathroom, takes off the toilet tank cover, finds the gun, and removes it. At which point, Augusto comes along. Nothing much more is made of this--I almost feel as if I dreamed this up.

I thought I'd provide the above account as a way of getting people to start commenting on the episode. Another important part of the episode that I don't have time to describe in detail is the changing relationships among Isabel, Ricas, and Diego. In particular, thanks in part to Ricas' attempt to protect his mother from what he fears Diego will do to her, Diego comes to understand more about the domestic violence that has made her flee from her husband. There's a rather touching scene where Diego tells Ricas that he was right to try to protect his mother, and also that he, Diego, is incapable of hitting Isabel or any other woman. The adoring look on Ricas' face at the end of this scene makes me feel that Diego may indeed be together with Isabel and her children at the novela's end.

There's a lot more, such as Jose's asking Circe to marry him and Amanda's running away to see her father in the hospital. Comments, anyone?

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS"

Daddy Rosales becomes the new President.

Identidad

Thanks, Juanita. I checked out this new TN but still don't know about these characters. I thought Eliseo was good, but he ratted out Circe. Diego's lack of guilt about triggering Gavin's daughter's murder bugs me. Isabela's in a tight spot, but I don't see how she could leave Amanda behind. Circe's interesting, with her hawk training and all. I think Jose is into her beyond being the boss's daughter, but I'm probably more sympathetic to him cause I liked him in another TN.

Identidad

Hi Niecie. Glad to see that you may be interested in this novela. I think it's quite promising, with an excellent cast and a more-or-less plausible plot. (Though frankly, after enduring months of Sin Senos3, I'd probably find almost any other plot plausible :-) ). I think Eliseo is good, but I too was both surprised and disappointed by his ratting out Circe. I may not be remembering all I should, but I'm puzzled by your saying that Diego triggered Gavino's daughter's murder. (Actually, if you're referring to Circe, my guess is that she will be alive for quite a bit longer.)

I'm not sure whether you've seen the first few episodes or just Friday's, but those early episodes convinced me that Isabel had very little choice about leaving Amanda behind. The alternative was to return to her obnoxious and violently abusive husband, who had not only sent Isabel to the hospital with his brutality but had also started to hit Amanda and was terrifying Ricas. Also, Isabel thought her leaving Amanda would be very short term. As for Jose, I agree that he's probably into Circe for lots of reasons that have little to do with her being Gavino's daughter (though her being Gavino's daughter is probably a plus in his eyes). And until tonight's episode I, too, had trouble seeing Jose as a bad guy after the wonderful performance Uriel del Toro gave as the extremely admirable Andrés in Al otro lado del muro.

Identidad

thanks so much Juanita!

there are too many bad guys in this story...

I thought we were done with Augusto but Eliseo waffled and gave him the benefit of the doubt, but hopefully he planted a seed in Fernanda who speaks of her "Famlia Perfecta", not.

Circe I like, but no one keeps a secret in this show, I'm hoping Gavino will also waffle, and quit scaring the bird.

Diego is definitely coming back to help his brother, but wait he goes home, but where is Isa.

Isa asks and gets the ok to stay with Marlene, but wait, she also goes home, probably a good thing because I'm guessing Marlene didn't come by her good fortune by hard work.

Diego buys things for his new family with the money he thought Isa ran off with, he'll get them more stuff once he is paid.

so Jose is now engaged, and his fiancé has yet to say anything, does he care?

Porfirio whines about his family to his drunk friends who would like to sleep with his wife which causes a brawl where he is the odd man out, but his hospital stay lures Amanda to his side, she waffles and says she will stay with him, how long before she spills Isa is in Mexico city, curious she left her phone behind, do teenagers do that?

Eliseo calls Diego (do we need to remind him, no calls) and lets him know Amanda is gone, how long will this secret last?

speaking of secrets papa Corona, who has yet to work on a real police case, is having problems stashing his clinging baby girl with benefits.

is there a sane person in this story, yes, Salas, love him.

identidad

Thanks SO much, Juanita for putting up a recap! Yes, I'm hooked. I'm enjoying all the plot points. But I do wonder if we'll ever see another novela without a drug dealing aspect. Well, of course, Otro Lado was about child trafficking, which is worse.

I took the time to look up the name of the guy who was beaten so badly by Gavino (and who magically has few to no signs of it on his face). It is Piochas. I think I called him Pichitas in an earlier comment. He's like Second Vicious Henchman in the dramatis personae, seeming to be behind José in the pecking order.

He appears to be clever. He shot Ramiro, but not with a fatal wound. He thus forced Augusto to commit murder, causing him to be deeper in the conspiracy. This reminded me of when gangs of young men force a potential gang member to kill some random person as their way in.

Porfirio Corona and Mateo Corona are SO despicable. I like Gavino better than those two, and that's saying a lot! Porfirio, who insists on being called El Corona and bristles when someone calls him Porfirio, is completely contemptible. First off, I think he used his surname, plus El to indicate his high opinion of himself. The word means crown and I've heard it used to describe something as the best.

So Corona Pequeña [wouldn't he hate being called that!] told his father that he lost because there were 10 guys against him. And he almost immediately tries to manipulate his daughter into getting her mother to come back to him.

And Mateo Corona Mayor appears to possibly be having sex with someone underage. They haven't said she is, but his paranoia about someone finding out about them suggests that. And we see him quickly turn abusive toward the girl, threatening her and shoving her against a wall, if I remember. Also, the first time they were in bed together he sort of squeezed on her throat, her face became alarmed, and then he let go. I think this apple (Corona the younger) hasn't fallen far from the tree.

I liked seeing Diego and Isabel come to an agreement to get along better. But I was not entirely understanding why she went back there after having asked Marlene to put her up. If anyone remembers that conversation better than I do, let me know. I kind of thought it had something to do with getting her daughter back. Somehow I doubt that Amanda and her mother are going to be reunited anytime soon.

Deb, I laughed out loud at "quit scaring the bird"!

Of course Gavino isn't going to kill Circe, not because he isn't capable of it. But I suspect it will have something to do with José having a sweet tooth for her.

Falco

I'll try to put up something, probably brief. I'm just not feeling up to two long recaps, assuming these are two new Falco episodes, rather than one long case. If two episodes, they would be 9 and 10. It was advertised as 15 (or maybe 14). So I don't know if they plan to continue with Saturday or if it's a one off and the show will return to Sunday for the last four or five episodes.

I have a dark suspicion that they may be burning off the episodes because it hasn't gotten the expected ratings. I myself like it very much.

On the topic of Michel Brown, I happened to catch an episode of Sr. Ávila about a week ago. This is a show on HBO Latino, in which Tony Dalton portrays a killer for hire. I watched much of the first season, but didn't keep up with it. It appears that Michel Brown is now working with Dalton's character.

Identidad

novelera, if I remember right and I may be adding things, but I think since they were back in Mexico the game was over and Isa was done with Diego whom she considers to be very dangerous, she went to Marlene's to ask for a place to stay, (till she gets a job and her own place) even taking all the money, and once that was set up she wanted Marlene to have her aunt Zoraida bring Amanda to her, but... that didn't fly because even though Zoraida didn't know they were back in Mexico, she didn't want to go against Eliseo's plans, so, she returned to Diego, (telling Ricas not to say where they were), to get him to call his brother and set up bringing Amanda to her.

ID

Louis Franco, will always be Rodrigo from Bajo for me. I think he's a good actor so I'm looking forward to how his character evolve.

Janita...I assume and Niece can correct me...but when she inquired about Diego's lack of guilt having caused a murder...it was not about Circe...it was about his lover....the woman that was killed in the shower. I too expected more emotion or reaction from him about this murder. Maybe it will come down the road.

I like the actor playing Jose as well. He's good playing the bad guys just as well as he played the good guy in Otro Lado. I do wish his character wasn't so desperate for Circe. But we know it's about him gaining power in the business.

Amanda is in a tough position. She's just a child but I wish she had not gone to her dad. She's obviously seen how he treated the mom over the years...and then he attempted to hit her as well. But it was inevitable that he would find her since she was left behind. Will be interesting to see how long her dad can hide his true self.

Nett

Identidad

Yes, Nett and Juanita, that's what I meant about Diego. He played with fire hooking up with Gavino's woman. Maybe I missed it, but I never saw him anguished about Gavino murdering her for cheating with him.

The Corona pop and son are almost comical. They abuse their women, then wonder why they run away from them.

identidad

I don't think Diego knows for sure that Gavino killed Silvia. Davied told him over the phone that things were "hot" at the ranch and Silvia nowhere in sight. I admit that one could assume that. But Diego isn't really part of the cartel, only gets money from them for the gas he has stolen. So, as far as he knows, Gavino could have locked her in her room.

FALCO – Capitulo 9 – Parte 1 de 2

This was an excellent episode that showed us a lot about what likely happened to Falco. But I don’t have the energy for a long recap.

We see one Luis Díaz standing on a sidewalk calling out to Nadia and Aide. A neighbor lets him in when he says he forgot to take the exterior key. We see Luis unlock the door to his apartment and the neighbor go upstairs with his groceries. The neighbor hears several shots.

Falco and Caballero arrive. Luis was shot in the head near the door. Felipe Mares tells them that two women in the bedroom were tied up and the ropes removed after they died. Falco is sure that Luis arrived later. The three dead persons were tenants along with a 4th person who is just outside.

This woman is Itzel. She left yesterday for a shift at the hospital, while the others were drinking and smoking marijuana. She says that a car of the brand Dynamo is missing. Caballero thinks they owed money and the car was taken as partial payment.

Caballero and Salomón look at the security cameras and see the Dynamo leaving the area. Also, Salomón teases Caballero for his smiling at his texts. He admits to beginning to see someone.

Falco goes to see Carolina and Paola. Caro reluctantly tells him about this Ivan who threatened her. He was expelled.

Felipe says the girls had signs of torture and sexual activity. Falco thinks the girls were tortured and only killed when Luis arrived.

Bravo tells the whole team to concentrate on Nadia. How could she afford a Dynamo?

Caballero says Luis was a reporter that investigated corruption.

The Dynamo is found. Falco and Caballero have a bet of 1,000 baros about whether there will be fingerprints on the car. Caballero thinks yes, Falco no. [I had to search for baros. I think it’s like “bucks” in the US, slang for money.

Falco finds drugs hidden under a chair in the apartment where the murders happened. Itzel confesses that Nadia sold Coke and MDMA at parties.

Falco loses the bet. They found fingerprints on the car of one El Chuy who has a lot of priors, but only one conviction for cell phone robberies. They chase Chuy and he ends up firing a gun at them. Chuy has sneaked up on Caballero, but Falco runs over the top of a car and tackles him. But before he does this he has a bad flashback while crouched behind a car, reminding him of what happened 23 years ago.

Earlier Caballero teased Falco about saving him when he was on his knees with a gun in his face. Falco remarks that they’re now even.

When being interrogated Chuy says that some guys brought him the car, told him to get rid of it, and paid him some money.

FALCO – Capitulo 9 – Parte 1 de 2

Falco keeps calling Sonia, his shrink, who doesn’t pick up.

The cops figure out that Luis was being threatened for his reporting.

Falco is up to speed on internet searches now, and he finds a news article by Luis Díaz about bribery having been done by some company called ACM.

Juan Pablo Bravo has Falco Salomón, and Caballero in his office. He says that the broken glass on Díaz’s car was normal for a reporter. JP gets irritable and tells them they have two good suspects: Chuy and Itzel. Falco says Chuy is chivo expiatorio (scapegoat). Bravo shuts them down with a punto final. We see Caballero’s disillusioned face.

Falco gets some info on Ivan Soto. He doesn’t have priors, but his brother Guillermo does.

Some puzzle pieces come together. It appears that the Secretario who was killed in the parking garage 23 years ago caused the cancellations of some contracts that ACM had with the government. Falco finds a picture on the internet of Bravo and Zepeda with some people at ACM.

Falco asks Caballero to meet him in the office and teases him about his new leather jacket. They review some reporting by Díaz. He reported that the head of ACM, Arturo Carrasco had bribed the State of Mexico to get contracts for bridge construction. And, one day after Luis Díaz was killed, the sub-secretary died in an assault.

Falco shows Caballero the photo he found. He says that Zepeda was in charge of his, Falco’s, case. And there were connections between Carrasco, the Secretary, and Bravo.

Falco and Caballero go to see Zepeda and his young wife. He’s very pleasant, offering him some barbecue. Zepeda addresses his wife and tells her they called Falco Superman. And they shot him for being a cabrón y chismoso (a bastard and a blabbermouth). Falco: “If you know why, then you know who.” They don’t get anywhere asking him about ACM.

Falco and Caballero go to see Carrasco. They remind him that Luis Díaz spent months investigating his company. Carrasco throws them out.

There is another meeting in Bravo’s office. Bravo tells them they have no proof about the ACM connection. Salomón says that ACM could have arranged the killing. Bravo again tells them they already have a suspect and to stop the investigation of ACM right now. He also tells them that, if they continue investigating Carrasco, he’ll suspend them.

Caballero gets a box with holes in it from Inés, and an apology for having stood him up. It is a rabbit!

Falco goes to see Sonya. He tells her he knows why she hasn’t been returning the calls. She’s afraid because of the bug in her office. He tells her he misses their therapy sessions.

Carolina is attacked outside of her building by two guys in ski masks. We see that same little knife. And she’s warned that, if the police visit them again, they’ll kill her. She is punched in the stomach.

Falco

novelera, many thanks for this great recap of Episode 9. I found it immensely helpful. (BTW, I think you meant to put the second part of episode 9 as Parte 2 de 2, but you've labeled both parts as 1 of 2.) And it looks as if you were right when you said earlier that you suspected that Telemundo was burning off the episodes because the ratings weren't to their liking. Tonight they announced that the últimos capítulos would be shown next Saturday, presumably again from 9 to 11 pm.

I do have one question about the beginning of Episode 9. Luis Diaz calls to Nadia and to Aide, and then he tells the neighbor who is about to enter that he doesn't have his keys. The neighbor offers to let him in, but just then a set of keys comes flying out the window and onto the sidewalk. Dias picks them up. The neighbor and he enter the building together, but then Diaz uses the keys that flew from the window to get into the apartment. I'm rather confused about this. Who threw the keys down to him? Did I hallucinate this? (Perhaps I should see Sonia?)

Identidad

Thanks very much, Nett and Niecie, for clarifying which woman Niecie was referring to. I think what confused me was that Niecie referred to her at first as Gavino's daughter. (I think she was either Gavino's lover or his wife, I'm not sure which.) And I agree with novelera that Diego may not even have known that Gavino killed her.

FALCO – Capítulo 10

Ä young man named Gael Orellano has been kidnapped by an activist environmental group called Fauna. A video is released showing some guys in large wooden heads of pigs and wolves. They want 10 million pesos to repair the damage to the environment by Orellano’s company.

Carolina is a lot more beat up than the one punch we saw.

Some tough woman who’s part of Orellano’s company says they won’t negotiate with terrorists.

Falco still can’t get any information out of Bravo’s daughter. However, Bravo sees him talking with her.

Falco’s father doesn’t seem to recognize him.

Some Secretary and/or a high up cop comes and says that things are so successful at this police department that they want their methods taught to other police stations in other states in Mexico. They’ve chosen Falco and Caballero to teach these methods. [This seems like a way to get Falco out of Bravo’s hair to me.] Anyway Falco pipes up that that they aren’t so great since they haven’t solved the case of the dead reporter.

Both Mares and Carolina are upset with Falco for getting the police after Iván Soto.

Juan Pablo is following Falco and watches him brace the two Soto brothers. He puts them up against the wall. When Iván pipes up that it’s the teacher’s fault; she started this. Falco points the pistol at, I think, his brother’s crotch. Anyway he tells them they won’t return to the school and if they put a finger on Carol he’ll fire this into Iván’s head.

Fauna doubles the money to be donated because the family hasn’t cooperated.

Falco and Caballero go visit some guy who is an ethical economist because it appears Fauna uses some saying of his as their motto. Falco is shocked to find his daughter along with other students. They take him to the station and interview him. He won’t say if any of his students are likely to be members of Fauna.

The cops fear there’s a bomb in the factory. But Falco doesn’t think they’d hurt workers. He figures out they are at the office. We see the guys in the wooden heads knock out some security guy and take his gun. One of them asks the leader why they need that – referring to the gun. He says it’s part of the show.

However, after the “show” is being broadcast, some poor man is shot in the head. Fauna are gone when Falco and Caballero arrive, guns drawn.

To be continued.

Falco

Juanita, I missed that about the keys being thrown. But it seems likely that whoever tortured the two female roommates threw them because they wanted him to enter. He came in the exterior door because the neighbor upstairs let him in. And then he entered the apartment with the keys that were thrown.

Falco

hmm, 2 hours of unsolved crimes.

thanks so much novelera for writing up these 2 shows, that's very nice of you!

Dynamo is also the name of the company that is producing this show, along with Spiral.

funny how Tenoch in his new clothes for his big date, is dressed just like Falco.

and the rabbit from Ines is an interesting touch, he names it Emile.

I find Eva Salomón to be an interesting character.

good to know Sonia is ok, she is just playing it smart and walking away.

and so JuanPa is now tailing Falco.

Falco

Muchísimas gracias, novelera, for this concise but very helpful recap of capítulo 10. It cleared up a lot for me. And yes, the novela's editors seem not to have remembered that the thugs gave Caro one strong punch to the face and then fled.

I found myself feeling a bit of sympathy for the activist environmental group Fauna. I'm not an advocate of kidnapping, but I'm also not an advocate of contaminating the environment, and I'm glad there are organizations devoted to combating such contamination. I was pleased when the professor refused to name any students or followers who might possibly be involved in a more extreme way, fearing that innocent people might be punished.

It's been true all along that each episode has to some degree built on plot elements from earlier episodes, and all are linked by Falco's attempt to figure out exactly what happened 23 years ago. But until now, there was closure of specific cases each week. However, episode 10 did not end in any sort of closure, and in fact continuará appeared on the screen at the end. I guess the writers couldn't figure out whether they were writing separate episodes or a more tranditional novela.

I guess I'm just going to have to recognize that Telemundo's tastes and mine often don't agree. They can drag out season after season of Sin Senos (including apparently at least one more to come [arrgh]) but cut off prematurely a superior novela (IMHO) like Falco. Oh well, there are far worse problems in the world.

Identidad
Hey, Mundo gang. I'm here for the whole run of Falsa Identidad. I was hooked after the first two episodes. I may not comment regularly, but if I have a day free from time to time, I'll be happy to recap and let novelera and Juanita get some rest.

I, too, noticed all the bleeped swearing. The way they do it, I'm lost because I don't know that many Mexican swear words or phrases and I can't lip read these guys (at least Eliseo, aka Leonardo from PASL, doesn't swear--yet). If it were in English and bleeped out, I'd know right away. Somehow I always feel I've lost something of the dialog. If the writers know the swear words are going to get bleeped, why do they put them it? OH, I KNOW, they do that so the sensitive American English ears that are fluent in Spanish don't curl up.

I wish Isabel/Camila would brush the hair out of her face and clip it. She looked so messy next to her two kids--and even her nasty-legal-wife-beater-husband combs his hair.

Identidad

Anita, ¡bienvenida amiga! I'm delighted to see you're joining us for this one.

Yeah, the bleeping drives me nuts, too, but for a different reason: I'm NOT fluent in Spanish, so I need a relatively smooth, unbroken stream of words in order to have a chance at understanding what's being said. All the bleeping thus does me in (I've come up with some other excuses, too, but I'll save those for later :-) ).

Identi--Juanita, you are darn tootin' bleepin' right on. But you get all we need for a recap. Thank you both, you and novelera for providing the incentive to comment. It's so much more fun to discuss what we just witnessed than internalize it or try to explain it to a non-telenovela watcher!

identidad

Great news, Anita. I'm happy to hear you're watching and possibly recapping!

I'm enjoying this one as well. I really don't like narconovelas, a staple on Telemundo for years now. This one certainly has a nasty cartel head, but at least it's Sergio Goyri, a terrific actor.

And the two protagonists are NOT in the drug business. And an important issue, domestic violence, is getting attention.

I mostly can figure out the bleeped words. Here's a list that I wonder if Blogger will censor:

pinche (adjective; such as: Odio a ese pinche hombre (I hate this fucking guy or I hate this damn guy.)

cabrón (noun; such as: Ese cabrón me engaño otra vez (That bastard or that asshole cheated me again.)

pendejo (noun or adjective; such as: Mira a este pendejo tratando de estacionar su coche. (Look at that stupid guy trying to park his car.)

puta or puta madre (sometimes noun and sometimes adjective) Literally whore, but often used as adjective meaning the same as fucking. Dame las putas llaves. (Give me the fucking keys.) Hijo de puta, perdí el juego. (Son of a bitch, I lost the game.)

chingado/da fucker or fucking; such as, adjective Tuve este accidente y mi coche está chingado. (I had that car accident and my car is fucked up.)

noun: Vete a la chingada (Go fuck yourself.)

carajo shit or damn. No me importa un carajo lo que piensas (I don't give a shit what you think.)

joder to fuck Lo has jodido (You have fucked up.)

Be assured that my numerous co-workers born in Mexico NEVER say these words in front of me!

Identi--
Thanks, novelera. I'm going to try these out tonight and see how many I catch Gavino or his guys using....(No googly censorship!!!)

Thanks, Novelera. You are a doll to do double episodes in one night. So Tenoch's new girlfriend gave him a rabbit? I missed completely that he was a gift from her. So cute. Tenoch in his new leather jacket, like Falco's, was cute too. I've been wondering how the wooden wolf head seen in the opening credits would figure in the show and now I know.

I think the psych knows more than she's telling Falco, but who came blame her for retreating? Such a shame Telemundo won't stick with this excellent show. Falco is must-see TV for me.

Identidad

Anita, nice to see you hear! I'm guessing all those choice swear words, probably nudity too, don't go to waste and get blasted uncensored in some overseas TV markets.

Novelera, thanks for the vocab. Now I need to use each word a couple of times so I can commit them to memory. :>
