Amar a Muerte, 11/9/18, Episode 9: One Shocking Revelation

Parte 1 of 3....

It seems to be Don Leon's lot in the Afterlife, now transmigrated into the body of an electrocuted criminal, to be witness to one "shocking" revelation after the other.  And so it goes.....

At the grave site of Don Leon, the groundskeeper notes to his co-worker how day after day he rakes up the leaves and dead floral and yet there's always a new pile of it leading up to the man's grave like Death's pathway for the spirits; he's certain Don Leon's is somewhere else right now and not where it was left to linger.  (Or so I think.)

Meanwhile, as El Alacrán and Eva are enjoying their moments of illicit lust-making (and Viewerville closes its eyes in disgust) Lupita and Juliana use Panchito's one-way pass to finagle a tight little storeroom in a house that's at least hidden behind a solid gated wall to stay in.

At the same time up town, Guillermo corners Renata, his secretary, in the break area to give him her true first (and thus lasting) impressions of him as a boss.  Does he want the CMA version or the truth, she inquires.  The truth, of course.  She blasts him straight between the eyes: "Rich people to me are always pompous, self-important, self-centered, conceited individuals who arrogantly order around others.  And, you are that."   He leaves the table to nurse his bruised and bleeding ego...somewhere else.

Somewhere in mid-town, it seems that Beltran, aka El Chino, is waiting to see the/his fortune teller.  There's a long line today.

And, Dr. Guerra, knocks on the door of the widow of the only other transmigratory occurrence he can track down.

At the Carvajal manse, Jacobo/León tells the old family chauffeur he's not there to take away the old man's job, just to lend a hand.  The old dude says talk to the hand...Then Jacón sees his younger daughter, Valentina arrive with her current squeeze.  He yells her name and races over, obviously forgetting he's wearing the body of a stranger.  She is puzzled but asks politely who he is.  He mentally takes a step back and then introduces himself as the new chauffer.  She walks inside the house and the BF also then politely introduces himself and shakes Jacon's hand.  Jaco ain't into him and walks off also somewhat dazed.   Oh well.....

So, Dr. Guerra gets The Widow Guzman to open up.  After what happened, Hubby used to get these horrible, frightful visions/dreams and later, hallucinations.  According to Hubby Guzaman he was someone who'd died in an earthquake in 2017 when the apartment fell in on him  (?)  The doctors they saw had no explanation for any of this.  They just chalked it off to "The Supernatural".  Was there anything on his neck.  Oh yes, but that mark itched and annoyed him constantly.  He died a year later and this time he didn't return again.  "--Yup.  I believe this time he stayed dead."

At the corner fortune teller, Bel-chin' wants an answer that the gypsy cannot give him.  He tells her about the dream he keeps having about this small suitcase he buried that was full of Yankee dollars.  This gets the witch's attention toot sweet.  Just then Belchin' gets a frantic call from his wife about the boy having a serious fever he cannot wake from.  Belchin' races home and scoops him up into his arms, then heads into a lukewarm shower till he cools down and later wakes.

The bruja checks her next card and indeed, it is the card that signifies wealth.  She surmises wise and figures this nutcase customer must be telling the truth about his Yankee greenbacks.

And speaking of dinero, Lucia leaves a message for Eva to call her.  Eva ignores the phone call and complains about her dead daddy's gold-digging widow.  She's got to go.  El Alacrán isn't quite ready to call it a night yet,  "--Party over?"  She waxes philosophical for a moment and emits the rhetorical question "Why oh why am I bedding a narco?" We learn he's there in the D.F. to kill a man.  TMI for Eva.  Al drags her back down for another go 'round.

At a local bar, some reporter friend gives Eva's husband a backgrounder from one of his sources on El Alacran and that the word's out he's in town,

At the manse, after reporting in with the chief of security there, Jacón sneaks into his secret man cave for a quick look-see with the family.  He notes Val taking a bottle of booze all for herself and grimaces.  He also sees Guille reading a book - Dr. Guerra's book, Only One Gateway.  Lastly he finds Lucia sitting down to call someone.  "--Johny, I need to see you.  It's urgent."  He races out of the man cave as she's trying to sneak quietly away.  "--May I take you somewhere?"  "--What are you still doing here.  It's not your shift."  Whatever, he still offers and she says she knows how to drive, yes the city can be dangerous at night but it is in the day as well and no thankyou very much.  She drives off on her own.

parte 2

Around town somewhere, Gil has a couple of trago's with the wrong buddy.  He's looking for a bit of excitement in life.  The dude at the bar says he's come to the right man and it's a fun time high on beer and perhaps a bit of nose candy, running over pedestrian's at 100kmh, and for the night's topper, donning masks and robbing liquor stores then killing the clerk in cold blood and racing off with the cash on the counter.  (Works for me....)

At the same time, Renata and roomie are discussing her heart-to-heart with the boss and giggling about his being "the one" for Ren.

Back in bed with Eva and Al (Gawd, must we?) there's a discussion that she's been loaning Daddy's money out to the mob? and/or possibly laundering some?  (I cannot tell at this point.)  --I'm sorry but there is something sooooo wrong with the visual of that skinny, hairless, painted up chest laying up against a baby blue pillowcase with black rose prints!!

Back at the bar with Eva's cuckolded hubster, Lady Rebellious Reporter tells him and other reporter she suspects Johny is in cahoots with the nasty politician she was supposed to interview.  Hubster doesn't believe it and they laugh about it, etc.

Jacón takes public transportation, aka, the city bus, back to Guerra's.  Along the way he has visions of the Lady in Black, aka, Death, and tries to follow her but loses her at the back of the bus.

Lucia and Johny enjoy a little whoopee-making.

Jacón relates to Guerra Lucia's abject refusal to let him take her to Johny's.  He has no idea why.  Jacón is so frustrated with no longer being a part of his family and not being able to look out for their interests he's ready to tell all the very next day.  Guerra warns him that's not the plan and to think twice if not thrice about doing that.  He refuses to wait any longer.

Back in their apartment, Roomie sends a secret message from Ren's phone to Gil (?) to push things along (I think) between the two of them.

Lucia leaves Johny's bed early to keep up appearances at the manse of sleeping and waking all alone as the aching Widow Carvajál.

Back at Guerra's, Jacobo/León gets a fright when washing up before bed.  He takes a look in the mirror and suddenly sees his real face, his León face, staring back at him.

parte 3

Guerra comes back to the bathroom to check on him and mentions the transmigrated coyote, Santos, was on the phone and wanted to talk to him.  One last look in the mirror.  El Chino's face is back again.  However, Belchin' has just had the same frightening face-exchange moment as Jake.

Eva returns home just after Hubby.  She lies about sealing a fab deal at the bidnez meeting.  He's ready for a bit of action in the bedroom; Eva reminds him she's had tiring boardroom action, so he can just go pound sand.

Santos relays the news to Jacón that El Alacrán's in the D.F. looking for him.  Santos kept quiet and lost 3 fingers while protecting his whereabouts.  But, "heads up"!  Santos answers some of Dr. Guerra'squestions about what happens while he's in another's body just as Murdered Judge's son comes looking for him.  Santos says he'll call back later.

When Gil returns home, Lucia tries explaining to him that Eva's got her all wrong, but he doesn't have the heart, the head, or the patience to listen.

Next morning, Jacón learns that Lucia and Johny are having breakfast in the manse together from Silvina.  She admits she doesn't much like Johny herself.  He takes the moment she's gone delivering the breakfast to sneak into his man cave.  Eva arrives and joins Val for breakfast while in another room, he notes, Johny and Lucia chat about Eva's looking for allies in the boardroom and she's made to feel like the Wicked Witch of the East.  Johny gives words of encouragement.  Jacón watches as the tone of the conversation changes from frustrating home and business situations to that of flirtation.  He's drop-jaw, saucer-eyed, impactado at what comes next:  Johny tells her how much he loves it when she laughs.  Lucia then grabs Johny by the collar and lays a lip-lock like León's never had before nor in his humble here-after.  Oh, and then he gets an eyeful of the what-comes-after....

Or 'Never a Dull Moment with those Carvajal kids'.
Sheezo, now I guess we have to wait and see what hairbrained mischief Vale can get into. Compared to Eva's makeup removal routine and Guilly's playful drunken friend, she will have to think long and hard to top those two nutbags. Whole family is squirrely, but those are at the top of the tree. Yikes.

In Guily's situation would a non-TN person not in this order:

1. Call an amnbulance
2. Call the cops
3. Call a dam good lawyer

The poor fellow was shot on the lower right abdomen away from the heart. He might could have been saved by quick medical aid.

I am getting the drift that the SanMue magic may have some downsides, or may not be a permanent fix for deadness. IE: a former 'client' is dead again, according to Widow Guzman. And now we are seeing memories coming back to each of our guys from both their former selves, which could give schizofrenia a whole new meaning. Will that be covered by Medicare too?

And I am loving the new and improved Bat Cave more than the original. That concept must be a W Studios/Lemon Productions exclusive plot toy. Very nice though. It beats the help out of the TN standard of leaving a room and pausing right outside the door out of sight and eavesdropping.

So with those cameras there all over the house and equipped with microphones is this all a classic case of "we all knew Lucia was a tramp, but didn't tell you anything..." Seriously none of the security people ever bothered to eavesdrop? Impossible. But then again, Johnny and Lucia could have behaved well enough in the house, so who knows. I'd rather go with the security men knowing what's been going on. It makes Leon look more retarded than he is. He's still too busy focusing on her than his progeny. This man doesn't know how to prioritize. Who comes back from the dead to seek out his trophy wife of a few hours over the children he raised?

Don't understand the whole Eva and Alacran relationship, nor why any woman would want him in that way. Gross as heck. Now we know why she's been so into her phone the whole time. And her husband never suspected her of cheating? If at least the smidge of a doubt? Do they even love each other, cause they suddenly gave off the vibe that they're in marriage out of convenience.

Not sure if it's Angelique's haircut, the hair color or perhaps that she's been aging, but she doesnt seem as pretty as she was before. It was noticeable when she appeared in the tres veces Ana saga last year. She looks different, maybe its weightloss or something but she's not as attractive as before.

Anon 10:00: Simple...she's not on the market any more.

And how would a beautiful rich princess like Eva and Alacran have ever met unless it was through a common associate, as in her nose candy supplier?

Kirby: What's the latest Body Count because I lost count ?

Hey, Steve, Kirb. Please be a bit more gentell with your expressed interest in those who've passed on. I say this in all sincerity as others on the site have a bone to chew with that. Ok? I don't mind the question or the way it's phrased, but apparently there are a number of others who do so.....
=/ ; ? )

Sorry, genteel.

Sorry, will do

Hey, she's back. Our sassy, jazzy Jardinera. Good to be reading your take on things again. Loved this:

Back in bed with Eva and Al (Gawd, must we?)

Haven't seen this yet. House is full of family visiting from Charlotte. Probably won't be able to take a look at it until Monday afternoon when everybody heads home. So sure appreciate the recap. Thanks Jardinera.

Thanks and thanks! Looking forward to chatting with you, JudyB. KJ: Tks also!

Anon Nov. 10: I wondered the same thing. It looks to me as if she's put silicon into her cheeks to make them more rounded.

Thanks, Jardinera! WOW what detail and with all that happened last night, you got it all!

Ok, so I'm eating my words I wrote yesterday as I type. No slowin' down on this TN!!

Kirby, I agree, those Carvajal kids sure are into some heavy duty stuff. Boy, will Leonchi have some more shocking revelations, but these will be about those whom he should really care about.

Now how will Leonchi be able to contain himself when he confronts Luciho and JohnyBEvil? Would be nice if he could beat the heck out of John, but he'd have A LOT of explaining to do. Can't wait till Monday!

Anon 10:38, "Don't understand the whole Eva and Alacran relationship, nor why any woman would want him in that way..." Me neither!! She has a perfectly handsome husband who is quite willing to meet her needs...and she outright turns him down. I wonder if she at least took a shower.

Eva, the scamp, is not just playing with the devil; she is also dealing with the devil...
when Eva and Ala were in bed, Ala remarked that no one would believe that the Carvajal group was into laundering money and that there was no reason for anyone to be suspicious of her investments. Eva responded that she shouldn't have a need to do this kind of stuff, especially with her father's money. When ALa tells her that it is now her money, she replies that Lucia and Johny are always watching her.

Jardinera, there is a man, Teo, (who we haven't seen) at the Carvajal company who works as security. He is interested in Renata and he is the one who sent her a text inviting her to the theater. Renata isn't as interested in him, though; so the roomie secretly responded as Renata.

Thanks. I haven't been able to see the CC version yet and that fast chatter is beyond me.

WOW! If you don't want to have a bad day don't come back from death in some
Body else's body and spy on your wife
Givin it up to your bidnez partner. In your bed. That you were gonna share wit huh.

Dead.

Thank you Jardinera. Good recap, very
Informative.

Good Morning...well almost noon in some parts of the US...so Good Day!

NiNa, so good to see your comments...always a fun read. "That ride
Into town won't be as pleasant no more" Nope, it sure won't. If Leonchi doesn't suppress his anger and loses his composure, he may lose his job. It'll be interesting to see how he handles this ominous revelation.

Oh,these crazy kids!
I was surprised to see that Leonchi finds out the big secret so fast. I thought that he will start to doubt Johnny first, even Lucia and be conflicted about it.
No need, now he'll probably go in full revenge mode.
We've been speculating about his disinterest in his kids but he hasn't thought much about who killed him, either. Could he be starting to connect the dots now?
Thank you, Jardinera, a great read as always.

Adriana, I was surprised too! He was already starting to see a different side of Johny, but was clueless about Lucia. Going into full revenge mode is probably what El Chino would do, but Leon seemed to be much more even-tempered. Hopeofully, the soul will be stronger than the body (though we have already seen Leonchi lose it quite quickly) and Leonchi will devise a well-thought out plan to seek vengeance...and he still doesn't know Johny had him killed; so he needs to stay close.

Jardinera--
What a wonderful, full-text rendition of a fast-paced episode. Too many cut-aways to all the stories involving differing groups of folks with different agendas, but you delivered with class (and affection).

Have pity on me, all you above-average Spanish listeners, tomorrow is my turn. I hope I don't muck it up. Truth be told, I can't always tell the dark-haired guys with facial hair from each other. There's Mateo, Guill, Octavio, Alacran's henchmen, Barretos (the company lawyer), and to a certain extent (w/o facial hair) Murdered Judge's son, reporters, interviewers, etc..

I must have closed my eyes momentarily regarding Guill's bar pick-up drinking buddy turned into crime buddy (at least he wasn't also a dark-haired guy with facial hair). What on earth was Guill thinking....Thanks Kirby for the rational steps a normal person would take.

As for the Bat Cave--"W Studios/Lemon Productions exclusive plot toy"--they've been watching too many spy thrillers.

When Leonchi first tapped into the Johny-Luciho scene, it would have looked quite innocent on Luci's part. She kept pushing him away. Leonchi would have had a good reason to go after just Johny--seeing him pushing himself on Luci. That all changed when she grabbed his lapels and bussed him one and the encounter progressed to the other kind of pushing himself into Luci. This turn of events is a conundrum for Leonchi to decide what to do. He obviously loved/loves Luciho and this betrayal would definitely signal revenge. Yet, what to do. The attraction is still there and we know Leonchi's powers of seduction are working on all of us ladies (regardless of age). Luciho won't be immune. Maybe now he will begin to wonder who ordered his assassination.

I wondering if he sat there & watched it All from beginning to end. I hope
His heart could take it. That body is younger than his isn't it? But that don't mean much When The heart is all
Broke up cuz the trust went down the toilet.

Tks all!
