Mi marido tiene más familia Friday 11/9/18 Capitulo 46 A Roadblock on the Highway of Love--OR--Julieta Puts Robert on Notice

Julio thinks it is odd that Temo and Ari are always hanging out together sort of like twins.  Lupita doesn't find it strange because they are friends.

Pancho is still helping a nervous Susana put the sail on the mast of her model ship.  He tells her she has nothing to be nervous about.  Pancho wants to see her happy. They laugh and rub foreheads. Crisanta walks in and says she has caught them with their hands in the cookie jar. Visibly nervous, Susana asks Crisanta how long she has been there. Crisanta says evidently not long enough.  Susana leaves Pancho to finish the ship and goes to talk with Crisanta. Crisanta guesses that Pancho also took her to the market and gave her the flowers she has at home. Susana denies it all. Crisanta makes it clear she is not judging her.  She just likes to know what is going on.  She also has noticed the very special way she and Pancho look at each other. Susana says nothing.

Linda meets Axel on his motorcycle. She only has twenty minutes.  He kisses her. Crisanta comes around the corner and does not recognize them. Linda and Axel leave quickly.  As they ride farther and farther from home, Linda wants to know where they are exactly going because she needs to get back home in time. Since her mother is now sleeping in her room, her mother is going to miss her. He is going to Ocotlán. Axel suggests she ask her father for more time.  Linda's phone rings. It is Blanca an Eugenio wanting to know where she is. Blanca says she has hardly anytime to get back and Eugenio is sharpening his scissors.  Linda lies and says she is in the roof apartment considering different colors because she is thinking of painting it a different color.  Blanca says if she does not find her in the roof apartment, she will be punished. Eugenio says they will not have her make fools of them.  Linda tells Axel she has to go back right away.

In Blanca's kitchen, Julieta and Robert talk to Dave. Is he feeling okay? Dave shrugs. Robert reminds him of the family's honesty policy.  Dave says he is upset because there are no baby pictures of him when there are plenty of all of the other family members Robert tells him of his own experience.  Until he found his bio-parents he had only one photo of himself from when he was a little boy. It made Robert feel like he had never been a little boy or a baby. Dave agrees that that is how he feels. Robert adds that as he got older the lack of photos mattered less because the new memories that were being made were being made with love. Julieta says that photos only help us remember what happened but nobody can take away what we have lived through or the memories we make with love. Aa a new family, they are making memories together.  Dave still does no understand it since Blanquita must have thousands of photos. They must love her more than him. It is different because they will hear her first words. nobody heard his.  Robert wonders if that is why he wants to see his bio-dad.  Dave perks up. Maybe his bio-dad saw him as a baby.  He wants to see his REAL dad. Robert tells him they do not know where he is. Dave quiets down.

Casandra and Clarisa are playing a board game with Gabriel. Gabriel just cannot take anymore and tells his sisters that he is going to see Daniela. They try to stop him.  They remind him he needs to respect her request for space and time alone.  They get him exercising so hard that in the end  he can barely move.

Back in the living room there are  more baby and child pictures being shown.  Dave looks depressed. Blanca talks to Eugenio. She is sure Linda is lying to them. Eugenio cannot make it up to the attic to help Blanca check on her.  Blanca is going to go up with Daniela. Ari makes an entrance without his earring. Audifaz gloats.  Ari makes an announcement. There is something the family needs to know.  Ari will come home but only if one condition is met. That condition is that is family will always accept him as he is.  Audi doesn't get it.  He should be the one who should be setting conditions. Polita tries to get him to stop talking. Blanca and  Daniela go to find Linda. The roof apartment is empty as Blanca suspected. Linda crossed the line this time. Blanca calls Linda who happens to be in front of the building with Axel. She tells Blanca she is in her room now.  Blanca tells her that her game is over. Linda tries to explain but Blanca is no longer listening.

In the meantime, Julieta and Robert are having a discussion about Dave's bio-dad. Robert says they have to tell Dave the truth because sooner or later he will find out the truth and then he will be resentful because they lied to him. Robert says they are not responsible for what his bio-dad did but they are responsible for Dave's present. Julieta doesn't see it that way.  She does not want to see her son suffer even more and  feel worse.  She doesn't want Dave to know anything abut his father or meet him. She reminds Robert she is Dave's mother and Robert cannot decide for her. They do not come to an agreement. Robert doesn't want to end up fighting about this.  That is all they would need now.

Linda and Axel race back home. Linda is arguing with Axel about whose fault this all was.  Crisanta and Susana walk out of the building and wonder what Axel is doing there. Linda starts whispering in Axel's ear to cook up a plan. Crisanta and Susana don't like their bad manners one bit. What are they going to do? Axel disappears into the building.  He pulls the fire alarm.  Julieta runs for the children. Everyone is upset and runs out. Susana runs in to find Sebas. They all think there is fire in the bakery.  Linda hides behind a tree.  Robert asks Pancho is somebody burned something in the bakery. No and nothing is smoking inside either. Imelda thinks it was Crisanta. Susana says that is not possible because Crisanta was with her outside. Next, where is Linda?  Did she get out? Blanca said she was never inside. She lied to them so she will be hearing from her mother.  Daniela goes to look for her.
Robert notifies them that there was no smoke or fire and the alarm is turned off.  Dave starts getting hysterical when he hears the word "fire".  Julieta tries to get him to calm down.

Axel just mingles with his family on the street.  Imelda still thinks it was Crisanta and she brought Susana as a reinforcement just to ruin their family Sunday.   Sebas wants to know why Pancho is still Susana's friend.  He is different and not their equal.  He goes on and on even though Susana tells him to quiet down and not talk to her that way.  In the midst of the mess, Linda sneaks back in the building.  Crisanta shuts Sebas up but Axel continues where Sebas left off accusing Susana of never being around, etc. Julieta comes to Susana'a defense and tells Axel about all of the work they have at the office. Susana thanks her for her support.  Robert gives the all clear to go back in. Sebas doesn't want to go with Susana.  Susana says Axel can take him. She tells them both that she has tried and since her sons  still do not want to be with her, she is going back to work full time tomorrow.

Back in the living room, Linda comes in lying saying she was in her room and then in the wash  room.  Blanca says they looked all over.  Robert cannot believe she didn't hear the alarm. She says she was listening to music.

Dave and Blanquita are going to sleep over at Blanca's. Robert and Julieta will be back for them tomorrow.  Out in the hall, Blanca tells Robert and Julieta to not be so serious and to really dedicate themselves to  "enjoying themselves".  They all blush.  Blanca tells Julieta she bought her something sexy for tonight. Julieta cannot believe what her "mamá suegra" just told her and giggles.

Susana is at the bakery with Pancho and the model ship.   She is planning on continuing to see him.  She does't know what else to do to connect with her children . Nothing she does is ever enough.  If she could go back in time and not work, she would do it. Pancho reminds her if she were to do  that her sons would not have had the same opportunities in life.  In spite of all of her training and degrees, she still sees herself as a failure.

Linda talks with Axel.  She does not understand how he talks to her his mother. He says it is a long story.  They basically don't know her. He admits that they never wanted for anything material but Susana was never a real mother to them. He adds that he doesn't want to argue with her but they really do not know each other. Susana asks him if he is that uncomfortable around he then why is he still living in her house. He is staying there because of Sebas. Axel wants him to be happier than he was. Susana  says she is like she is because she runs the household. She paid for his studies and his career, Axel agrees but it was not the career he wanted. He only chose what he did because he liked fixing things. The conversation continues and Susana asks  why he gets on so well with his father since he was not there either. Axel feels he was there though because he always took an interest in him  personally and asked what he liked, helped him in his career and had confidence in him.  He isn't saying Susana is a bad woman it is just that he never felt like he was a priority in her life. Susana is left with a lot to think about.

Crisanta drops by Imelda's to share one half of Canuto's ashes with her but there is one condition. Crisanta's condition is that Imelda include her "anchakinis" in her fashion show.  Imelda cannot think of including Crisanta's vulgar clothing with her elegant styles.  Crisanta says if they do no accept her condition, there will be no ashes for them.  When Crisanta has left,  Imelda asks Eugenio how important it would be for him to have his father's ashes.  It would be a big deal for him.

At Pancho's, Crisanta  tells him about her offer to split Canuto's ashes. She also tells him that she has noticed that he has gotten really friendly with her daughter. He lists all of Susana's wonderful qualities.  He talks to Canuto's ashes but then he is freaked out when he thinks they are answering him.

Catalina arrives for her next English lesson. Catalina works with Blanca but feels like she does not know enough English to be successful in her interview tomorrow.  Maybe Blanca could be her long distance translator . . . and tell her everything she needs to know during the interview. Blanca thinks that would be cheating.

Daniela is helping Linda paint the attic. Linda asks if it isn't just amazing that they both have businesses in their parents' building. They both left and now they are back. Linda asks if she thinks of Gabriel. Yes, Daniela does.  Daniela says with all of the rules and expectations of marriage he just was not the same. She made him change. Linda says it is good she is not blaming Gabriel for everything. Daniela says they are a couple so the fault is both of theirs.  At Gabriel's,  he is telling his sister that after getting married, the spark just went out of his relationship and he and Daniela were not the same anymore. He failed.

Julieta and Robert go to spend the night at a hotel ready for a night of love. She cannot believe that Blanca planned this all for them. In a short time, it is clear that their night of romance isn't going to work out as planned.  Robert has nothing going on. He says "it never happened to him before".  Julieta says  "it can happen to anyone." It's normal. She understands. He is under a lot of stress.  He agrees because he just cannot get his mind off of everything that is happening in their life.  This is the last thing he wanted; for all of those concerns to affect their sex life. Julieta says they can still relax.  He is in no mood for a nice oil massage so  Julieta suggests that he should just let it all out and  be honest about what is bothering him. Robert lists his issues: the family, their debts, the foundation, and especially now, Dave's bio-dad.  He goes back to his position that they just have to tell the truth about his bio-dad because if they don't they will break their honesty pact with Dave and he will not forgive them.  This is not what Julieta wants to hear.  How can they tell Dave that his bio-dad is in jail? What if his bio-dad wants to involve himself in their lives and tries to get custody? She does not want to lose another child PERIOD.  Robert says what happened with their first baby was different.  Julieta says no way, the pain would be exactly the same.  It is all about losing somebody you love. Robert acknowledges he has some fears about the situation but quickly adds that  he was adopted and knows how Dave feels. He wanted to find his bio- family his whole life. Julieta tells him she knew she would never convince him so he can do what he wants but he better be ready to face the consequences.

I am looking forward to Catalina's interview if Blanca is going to be feeding her answers for the English section.

Linda and Axel deserve each other. They should leave town together and never come back as to not be treated like the pariah they aspire to be.

Crisanta with "Canuto in a box" at Imelda's door was a hoot.

I won't even get into commenting on Julieta and Robert but cannot wait until Monday! : )

So did Vicente not even share the expenses of Axel's education? And who actually buys the bs that Axel is only there for Sebastian? They don't seem to spend time together either until fairly recently. Axel's just being a jerk and he's been enabling Sebastian to behave like a jerk with his mother too. Kick him out of the house. Sebastian can still be saved. Apparently they appreciate a father who's never been there for them other than through video chat. Of course it's easy for Vicente to remember details from their lives. He's barely in it. Did they ever consider that maybe Susana wasn't able to spend much time with them because she was busy making ends meet? Susana talks like Vicente never paid child support. It must be wonderful to have a father who puts a whole bunch of strangers ahead of his own kids. But yes, let's continue hating the single mother instead.

Also Linda just gets so increasingly irritating to watch. It's like she downgraded several gradeschool levels since last season. Maybe she has mental illness or something. Whenever she gets a reality check she doesnt see it. And whats the point of her constantly throwing around italian words? It doesn't make her cool, but rather that she's trying too hard to be cute.

Good morning Jarifa. Thanks for the recap of another jam-packed with issues episode. And now I guess a PSA about ED and what causes it. Is there anything the writers have left out?

Crisanta, with Canuto in a box, was a hoot as you said. And seems to me her offer is reasonable. And maybe the first step towards collaborating with Imelda in other ways. As I said, my sister always made peace with her ex-husband's subsequent wives for the sake of the family. You can't change the past but you don't have to choose to prolong a miserable, contentious.

Winter has arrived in Ohio! And our house is full of family. Went to a restaurant last night, had ten people plus a baby. They wisely put us in a back room and Will was able to crawl around. But his favorite time was when our daughter walked him out towards the front and he was able to flirt with the middle-aged ladies at the bar. He really goes for the fifties but still shakin' types. And they like him too. All good.

Anon, great comment about Axel’s comment that he only is staying for Sebas. Don’t think so. It is probably the free food and board and laundry service.

JudyB, it sounds like you had a great family outing. “fifties but still shakin’ types” is a keeper. Never heard that one before. Yes, I have added ED to the continually expanding list of predicaments and medical conditions. I always wonder if Crisanta and Imelda could be at least polite acquaintances if not friends by the end of this.

Jarifa: I doubt Crisanta & Imelda will be either polite acquaintances or friends regardless.

Thanks, Jarifa. Great job.

Poor Robert. Everything is weighing him down. I think Dave's desire for his REAL dad is the No. 1 problem sinking Robert.

First I vowed to myself never to talk about Canuto because he got on my nerves so badly. Now I'm vowing never to mention Linda and Axel again. Axel, if you don't like your career, put on your grown man briefs and change it. It hurt to see Susanna begging Axel to respect her and feeling she failed him. Susanna, sorry but your eldest son is an annoying twit that only his mother or a fellow twit like Linda could love.

Gabriel's sisters exercising him so hard that he could barely move, too cute.

JudyB, kudos on your grandson's fine taste. The fifties and still shaking got it going on.

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa.

This season #2 reminds me of the kitchen towel a friend has that says:
"Family Dysfunction - The Gift That Keeps on Giving"

I have no words for Axel & not-so-Linda. Pulling the fire alarm was the. last. straw. Susana should have left Axel in jail after that last stunt. All he learned is no painful (nor long term) consequences for his actions. Axel and Linda are the ultimate selfish narcissists. Linda is a pathological liar. I am so done with them. Seriously.

I want Susana to "parent up" and set boundaries on Sebas and Axel. And consequences. Going to the office, working all the time, and complaining about your kids is so much easier than setting rules, boundaries, consequences and maintaining them. It becomes a cop-out. In her own way, she is as guilty as Vicente, but physically present.

Jarifa, thank you so much for the recap. That cold front that brought you a dusting of snow arrived in my area yesterday; and my antenna signal went bonkers. Needless to say, the show was half over before I got it to work consistently. From what I read, a lot of it was Axel and Linda; so I'm not that upset :-)

I did get to see Robert having his "problem" though; poor guy, he's getting it from all sides. I hope this isn't leading to a nervous breakdown or another break-up for him and Juls.

Susanlynn, when I see your name with those two cute little hearts I breathe a sigh of relief. I'm glad you are spending time with your daughter. Thoughts, prayers, and many hugs for you and your family.

More later...

Jarifa, thanks for this fine recap. "A Roadblock on the Highway of Love" sounds to me like you are enjoying coming up with these chapter titles :-)

I agree with just about everybody that Linda and Axel are both spoiled and irresponsible, and not a likeable couple together. I have to wonder what the TN writers are doing with them. Some people find just the fact that they are cousins to be a bit offputting, never mind the rest of it. We'll see.

Niecie, "Axel, if you don't like your career, put on your grown man briefs and change it." No Duluth Trading 'Buck Nakeds' for Axel, eh?

:-)

:-)

Excellent Jsrifa.

"They laugh and rub foreheads" and "Audifaz gloats" were my favorites.

"Susana denies it all. Susana says nothing". Perfect.

"Sebas wants to know why Pancho is still Susana's friend. He is different and not their equal". Shut up Sebas.

First, Axel should be in jail for pulling that fire alarm. He is a cruel, worthless ingrate. Why did he stay?? YourIt is probably the free food and board and laundry service" nailed it. His contemptuous, nasty finger pointing, combined with Sebas' scorn would wither the strongest heart. Susana's strength and determiation should serve her well as she deals with her sons cruel and ihumane treatment.

Axel you are dead to me.

RgvChick, please consider yourself fortunate to have been spared seeing Linda and Axel. I am with Niecie, andy and doris. I don't ever want to see either again.

Julieta and Robert both have valid, albeit heartfelt difference as to how they want to deal with Dave's "father". I agree with Robert although I understand Julieta's reluctance as she doesn't want Dave hurt further. I am very concerned for Robert whose warm, loving smile has been notably absent.

I do think the family could have cut the slide show short seeing Dave's reaction.

So Gabe is keeping busy but is he doing anything constructive to work on his depression??

Jarifa, your title was marvelous. I just love your recaps. They sizzle and have such life and energy. Thank you...

Diana

Judy, seems like you had a festive evening last night.

Will is such a bright light.

Diana

I am in the camp of telling David exactly where his father is. Even lies of omission catch up, down the road. There is a right way and a wrong way, but IMO he needs the truth. I'm siding with Robert on this one. Enough lies and cover-ups already, over the years, in this family.

" "Axel, if you don't like your career, put on your grown man briefs and change it."" He probably wears his two sizes too small, thus cutting off oxygen and blood flow to where his brain is located. ;-p

When Axel pulled the fire alarm, I thought he was a 12 year old pulling a prank! He’s a doctor? Acts so immature...lives at home, disrespects his mom, encourages dumb Linda into going off in his motorcycle! Linda should have been contrite..she was responsible for the sunglass duo almost being trafficked. Hate hate and hate hate Linda!

I was woozy this morning and forgot to mention your title Jarifa. Another winner. You are batting a thousand right now lady.

Did have fun last night but a houseful of young cousins is both wonderful but EXHAUSTING. Nine o'clock bedtime really sounds good to me tonight.

So g'night all. Sweet dreams.

Steve, you are probably right.

Niecie, great call on the “twits” Axel and Linda.

doris, interesting take about Susana being just as bad as Vicente in her own way.

RgvChick, I have cable and it will sometimes stutter if it gets too windy. I felt sorry for Robert, too. He needs to be less guilt ridden to concentrate on his own family and less on everyone else so he is not so worn out. He needs more Tavo time.

Andy, I have never liked writing titles but am having fun with this novela. Nope, no Duluth Trading “Buck Nakeds” for Axel. Very funny.

Diana, I was right with you with the slide shoe. If Robert and Julieta had more time for THEIR family alone, then they could have taken lots more pictures of Dave so he had at least the same amount as the rest of the kids. I agree that Axel should be arrested if discovered as the culprit as he should have been for trespassing in the store. He skirts the law and morality and unfortunately it looks like he is able to get away with it.

Anon, ITA Linda is useless and hopeless.

As for telling Dave about his dad being in jail, I think Robert and Julieta should but think she and Robert need some Tavo therapy first. Also, I am getting tired of Robert pulling out “I was adopted so I know best and you know nothing” card when talking to Julieta. I hope he didn’t believe her when she told him he could do what he wanted to at the end of the episode. Even I didn’t believe her BEFORE she added the caveat.

OT- Diana, I finally read your recaps on "La Malquerida". I watched "La Malquerida" and recalled all the scenes perfectly just by reading your summaries. No surprise, amazingly written; you are truly gifted...I even jotted down some of your phrases and narratives. If you ever right a novel (or maybe you do write novels??) I'll be first in line to buy it :-)

Happy Sunday, Patio!

What a beautiful acknowledgement of Diana's writing skills. She truly is a gifted writer, RGV Chick and aren't we lucky to have her on this patio!?

I will third that thought! Nice sunny cold winter day here. Time to run errands and listen to the Bears game. Have a good one, everyone!

RgvChick, your kindness means more than you know. I'm truly humbled by your generosity, and so appreciative as you are a truly marvelous writer. Hugs to you, Judy and Jarifa.

In addition to the supportive hearts here, the patio is so intuitive and always seems to know when a kind word is needed the most...

I would like to thank everyone who has either served in the military or is part of a military family. Thoughts and prayers for all of you and to our dear Madeline.

Diana

Thank you Jarifa, splendid job once again.

I'm sorry to be so late chiming in, but I had a very busy weekend. Just wanted to say hi and put in my 2 cents: Axel pulling that fire alarm was the most juvenile, sophomoric thing in the world! He's supposed to be a doctor who has been through college and medical school and he's pulling stuff like a teenager. He's just as immature as Linda. They deserve each other.

I felt sorry for Robert!

Waiting for tonight's episode. :)

Me, too. : )
