Amar a Muerte, 11/26/18, Episode 18: La Fashionista Santa Muerte Has a Busy Day

*Left alone at the cemetery after Gastón’s interment, Leonchi sees his own grave. We don’t get a chance to know what he’s thinking.

*Camilo is continuing the session with Karla explaining transmigration of souls. He uses two chess pieces to demonstrate, but he can’t explain how it happens. He tells Karla he wrote a book on reincarnation, which is not the same. She and Jacobo share something for which he would like an explanation. Karla says if the objective is for them to pay for their sins now…Cam interrupts. Neither of them are to blame for any of this. Karla begs to differ. She sees death all the time. Cam tells her Jacobo does, too. He wonders how far this will go. Karla doesn’t want to cause anyone else’s death. Cam wants to know if she’s tried to get in touch with anyone in her family. She shakes her head, no.

*Beltino and Valerio are at the site of a beautiful waterfall. Valerio does some hokey pokey and sends Beltino into a cave behind the waterfall. Valerio must stay outside, within the stone circle to continue with the ritual. Beltino warns him that if something goes wrong, he can’t guarantee Sammy’s safety. Beltino sheds his outer shirt and wallet and goes in the swirling waters.

*Barbara, left with the mischievous little Sammy, is desperately trying to get ahold of Beltrán. She wants to be rid of Sammy, who’s annoying and hungry all the time. Sam calls attention to the crystal ball and sees his abuelo. Barb doesn’t see anything.

*Valerio continues to do some magic outside. Weird things are happening inside the cave.  A behatted Sta. Muerte appears, as does a shiny light which envelopes Beltino and helps us to see what is going on.

*Guille and Renata are at the hospital checking on Sr. Castillo. Guille bemoans the fact that he’s to blame for Castillo being sentenced to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He really doesn’t *hear* Renata saying it’s not his fault, it’s that Tony fellow’s fault. Castillo’s wife appears and wonders who they are. Before Guille can put his foot in his mouth, Ren speaks up and explains they represent a foundation that helps victims of gun violence. The foundation will pay for all her husband’s expenses, including a fancy wheelchair. She’s convinced and calls them a pair of angels.

*Johny has convened a board meeting. Everyone is there except Guille. Johny says the shew must go on, err, the meeting must proceed, regardless of the death of their dear Gastón. Johny’s first order of business it to get an approval to send a reporter to cover the campaign of Sanchez-Bueno, a candidate who just might become their next president. Eva says Johny sounds like Sanchez-Bueno’s campaign manager. Luci wishes she’d shut up. He’s sure León would have been in favor. Eva objects to the whole thing. She says León would never have done it and not to bring her father’s name in. He asks for a vote, even without Guille. Guille’s vote can be recorded later. The vote is tied. Barretos hasn’t voted yet. When he does, it’s for coverage. Eva is surprised. Meanwhile, Leonchi watches and listens from Bat Cave II, somewhere in the bowels of the Carvajal offices. The result hurts his ears.

*A cute little girl greets her daddy and says she’s going to go cook her very first dinner for him. Karla calls a number from a pay phone. (Aren’t they obsolete?) Ay vé, she must be calling her husband and daughter Monica. She chickens out and says nothing.

*Octavio and his wife have come at Alicia’s behest. She’s going crazy. She swears Beltrán isn’t the same anymore. Octavio’s wife suggests she get a second opinion. She will. She gets a call from the university. Beltrán never showed up for class. She tries to call him, unsuccessfully. She tells her friends that she’s mystified by all his comings and goings. She’s actually afraid. She’s now determined to solve this mystery herself.

*Beltino hears a voice and turns to confront the apparition of someone he shot—the judge. Outside, Valerio is still conjuring. Black Moths surround him. His eyes roll back. Inside the cave, the judge continues to judge Beltino. He declares he shouldn’t have died and left his family to mourn. He wants to know how many others Beltino has killed and left families behind, widows and orphans.

*In a flashback, we learn that El Chino wanted to work for El Alacrán and his gang. El Al says, as he pulls a little bunny out of the oven…no, sorry, it’s just a pet carrier, that he must be tested first. The test is to shoot his best buddy, which he does with no remorse.

*Barbara is reading a customer's fortune. Judi thinks she’s a fake and is ready to leave. Little Sammy, sitting on the floor mentions Jacinto who has lots of flowers. Judi stops in her tracks. Jacinto is her father’s name and he has a flower stand in the market. She leaves happy with her reading now and promises to bring her sister next time. Barb turns her attention to Sammy. How did the little devil get Jacinto’s name? He saw it in the ball. She doesn’t believe him.

*Luci is congratulating Johny as they reach her office. Johny pulls the blinds, probably expecting a reward. She had no idea Barretos would change his mind. Johny says he made it worth his while to be on their side. Luci is shocked he’d give him money. So these are to be his methods now? He revises it to *their* methods. She contradicts him. She would never do something like that. Johny wonders then, if she’d rather have Eva nipping at her heels all day. He grabs for her. Leonchi is watching and listening. Luci pushes Johny away and tells him she has an appointment. Johny noticed the chauffeur was gone—good riddance. No, Luci says, he’s not gone, Alirio happened to be available. Could it be that he’s jealous? No, not at all. He’s quite at peace, knowing that if anyone tries to get near her, things won’t go well for the dude. Leonchi leans back and reflects on what just transpired.

*Eva chews out Barretos for his vote. She wants him to change his vote. He knows as well as she does that Sanchez-Bueno is corrupt.  He tries to explain his vote—better for the company, etc., etc. She tells him what León used to say, that Carvajal was big enough to put anyone on the presidential throne, but it would have been someone honest and loyal. He evades any further conversation by leaving for a meeting.

[*Susana is talking to Mateo about something that I couldn’t in the least understand. There was something about new information, an article, publishing only one of two, cartel, Gastón, need it tomorrow, Palomares and …his wife!! Someone, please put these pieces together so they make sense.] Palomares walks up. There is an exchange with Mateo. Palomares tells him if he doesn’t like it, go talk to Eva. Mateo says he will.

*Guille and Ren are driving away from the hospital. They are having quite an argument. Guille is certain Castillo is going to be paralyzed for the rest of his life. He won’t listen to any possibility of recovery. It’s almost as if he needs Castillo to remain paralyzed in order to feel this terrible guilt and be able to continue punishing himself. Instead he punishes Renata by making her get out of the car, because he needs to be alone, stranding her somewhere without her purse.

*Silvina fixes coffee—without sugar—for Jacobo. He casually picks up one of the tomatoes and starts to chomp down on it, imitating León. Silvina tells him to stop it. Since he showed up there are just too many things that remind her of Don León. He gets close to her face and has her look in his eyes and says he’d like them to understand each other better. Of course, he knows what he’s saying, but it’s not like he’s giving her much of a clue. Fortunately, Val breaks the spell. She shows up and wants him to drive her over to Camilo’s.

*Karla is chatting with Camilo again. She relates her attempts to talk to her husband or child. She knows it would hurt them if she did. She desperately needs someone’s guidance. Her butterfly tattoo starts bleeding again.

*Back in the cave, the judge drones on, now accompanied by El Chino’s dead best buddy’s spirit, Tomás. They represent the first and the last persons he killed. El Chino says he didn’t want to kill Tom, it was El Al. Santa Muerte reappears.

*Jacobo and Val talk about the book during the drive over to Camilo’s. Val says the ideas are too complex. She’d like to believe it. That’s why she needs to talk to Cam, to learn the answers to everything that’s happening with her father. When they reach their destination, Val tells Jacobo to go get coffee or something. He doesn’t have to stay there. He says he will. After she goes in, he sees Karla come out, sees her butterfly tattoo and goes after her. He shows her his butterfly.

*Eva and Mateo argue over a narco article and Gastón’s death (whatever he, Susana and Palomares were yacking about). She’s large and in charge, thank you very much. Luci has heard the squabble and comes out of her office. Among other things, Mateo tells her to use her good judgment so as not to let the company go to rack and ruin. Luci wants to know why he says that. She attributes it to his possible marital problems. He storms off. She heads straight for Eva’s office. She says this is a war with no end. Luci wants to make peace. Eva scoffs. She knows who Luci is and what she did to her father. Luci says, no, Eva doesn’t know her. Eva calls her a spider (a big black one, I bet) who attracts a mate and then kills him. Luci is out of words and gets up to leave. She tells her at least she tried.

*Camilo is delighted to see Val. Some woman is working at a computer (is she there to listen?). They go into his consulting suite to talk.

*The dead spirits are still talking to El Chino. He’s determined to get his own body back. Tomas says no, he has to pay for everything he’s done. He’s told he’s going to die. The light goes away, the spirits turn into Black Moths and flap away. El Chino screams. He pops up in the current to the sound of Valerio’s drumbeat. I think Valerio was surprised to see him alive. While thrashing about in the water, El Chino is fried in the electric chair again. He calls for Valerio to save him. Valerio says he can’t, then starts to step out of the circle of stones. Santa Muerte tells him the men of fire are not allowed to interfere with the forces of the men of water. Beltino makes it out of the water, but Valerio is as dead as a pinned entomologist’s moth. Beltino is left with a dead body.

Anita, excellent, excellent .. Thank you.
Fashionista? Nice. So I’m not the only one who noticed she is hot.

Renata is way too smart and hot to be with smelly yesterday’s dishrag Gull. After he put her out of the car she should see that he is a jerk, but she wont. This is a TeleNovela.

It must be maddening for LeonChi to watch the sabotage / theft of his company by Johny and paid for with his (Leon's) own money. Aaarrrggghhh. If I were that big black dog Maxx I'd bite him.

Maybe it is just false hopeo or the writers playing with me, but I think I am seeing glimmers of redemption for LuciHo. She has a long way back from the dark side, but it looked like she genuinely wanted to make peace with Eva, as well as not exactly being all in on the Johny Plan. IE: “She would never do something like that. “

I am pretty much lost as to what the Valerio / Beltran / Waterfall / Swimming thing did except rid us of one fellow who perpetually looked to need a shower and shave. I am sure it will come out later.

“Takes a wabbit out of the oven, er, oops, no that’s a pet carrier.” Too funny

This is the first time we have seen Santa Muerte speak isn’t it?

Can’t wait to read Doctor Enoch’s take on all this, cause most of it went over my head.

Thanks again Anita.

Valerio does some hokey pokey and sends Beltino into a cave.

Hah! I loved that Anita, as well as the rest of the breezy, playful tone of the recap. Very sorry that Valerio had to die as he evidently was the real McCoy when it comes to shamanism (unlike our lovable, beer-drinking fraud Barbara). And he was also that destructive little fellow's grandpa and now it's just him and his mom in the world. Maybe they both can find permanent refuge with Barbara, now that he's evidencing real "vidente" gifts.

Yep, Lucia's tarnished halo is getting burnished and cleaned up each and every day, paving the way to hot romance and giving the shaft to Johny. Works for me.

Thanks Anita. The fast and furious slurred conversations are tough to follow in this one. As I've said before, for most of the actors I'm relying on my Spanish cc's. Otherwise I'd be lost.

Thank you so much for the recap Anita. I have been so busy with coursework and research projects, that I haven't commented in a while...I thought the scenes with Beltran/Chino were absolutely pointless, it was all wasted scene time to me that I just had to fastforward. I don't understand why a new character was introduced if he served no purpose in the long run, I hope things will make much sense later on...I am so anxious for Lucia and Jacobo's next encounter, those two make me grin so much to the point that my cheeks hurt. We have not had enough of them in the last two episodes. Hopefully, tonight's episode will be as a compensation;)

Benny

Thank you, Anita, I enjoyed your recap as much as I did the show.

I think the writers are trying to make it very clear that while Lucia is not above cheating and the occasional backstabbing she is no murderer. They don't want to pin any serious crime on her, because if she is ever to be forgiven by Leon and his kids she needs to keep a glimpse of morality.
Her salvation could be revealing all of Johnny's crimes but before that happens, I need for the rolls in the hay between her and Jacobo to start pronto!! Why to they think I'm watching, anyway?

It's not for that Moth Attack, I assure you. If the shaman is really dead, does this mean that the little boy will take over? Uh, oh, could Valerio's soul migrate to someone else? I hope Beltino at least reunites Sammy with his mom.
Although seeing how vicious El Chino was in his past life, I'm not so sure... Why would a guy like him get to have a second chance, anyway? Leon, yes, even Beltran had unfinished business, but shouldn't Chino's soul be burning six feet under by now?

I swear to God, if Natalia ever speaks another word to useless Gutless ever again...I know, Kirby, you're right, she'll be right back under his spell by the end of the week, if not sooner.

It broke my heart a little to see Karla's family. We already have Gaston's orphaned child, did we need to see another one? Yeah, maybe this will have a happy ending, with Karla getting the courage to reunite with her loved ones, but I can't stand this type of story, it makes me cry every time (did I mention that I'm seriously hormonal because I'm pregnant?)

Preggers? Congratulations, I know that takes a lot of work. :-) "Why do they think I'm watching, anyway?"
Understood. :-) :-)

Without giving myself away, remember, I am the one who wanted LeonChi to spank LuciHo as part of his undercover work, girls in these shows like Renata, who let men walk all over them drive me cray cray.

She should have gotten out of the car WITH her purse and her pride and said, " Really?...Really, Shure, Chump, and this is the last time this sweet ass and these cheerleader legs will ever sit on your leather seats."

But that's just me. Woof.

Wow! Great recap for a very mystifying episode, thanks Anita.

In the scene with Susana and Gaston, Susana was showing Gaston the front-page article on some cartel (Armenda?) that was approved for printing. Gaston is surprised that his article on the Cartel de la Sierra and Gaston's murder was not approved; and he is even more surprised when Palomares, head editor, tells him that it should be printed in a couple of days and that it was Eva who pulled his article.

Kirby and Adriana, ITA about Renata--too good for the obnoxiuos twit who is used to pushing people aside at his whim. And yes, unfortunately, she will cave in when he goes running to her for help.

I think that the only thing that cave thing did was to reinforce what Valerio had already told Beltrino...that there is a purpose for his situation and that he should accept it without questioning "why" or trying to change it's course. According to what the governor and Tomas told Beltrino, Beltrino has to pay for everything he did. Given that, wouldn't it stand to reason that Leon and Beltran also had to pay for all they did? ONly thing is that Leon's sins and and Beltran's sins are no comparison to El Chino's sins...or are there different reasons for their return?

Adriana--Congratulations. A companion piece to go along side the little cutie you've already produced. Lucky family.

Looks like Renata is taking up a lot of the cyber ink this morning. Poor thing. She's a little salvation army of one who wants to save Guille from himself. Instead of writing him off, she'll come back to try even harder.

After witnessing that scene in the office between Luci and Johny, how will Leonchi approach his next interaction with Luci? Does he even care whether she loved him or not or does he want retribution? Does he think she's Johny's collateral damage and needs "protection?"

I think he's truly more interested in repairing the damage he did to his children, but so far, Val is the only one he's been able to make inroads with. Did anyone else see that huge smile he gave us while driving her to Cam's? For me, that was worth a couple of replays and not that sorry scene with Susana, Mateo and Palmero.

Rgv--Thanks for the explanation of that scene. It sure had ME mystified.

At the cemetery, Leonchi was reading the inscription on his headstone which read, "Here lies an unrepeatable (i.e., unique/extraordinary) human being, a man who made Mexico greater." He was probably thinking about how wrong they are since his body has been replaced and his soul has never left.

My favorite scene was when Leonchi and Silvina were talking. I think Silvina will be the first with whom Leonchi will confide. He knows she senses something...though she can't quite explain what it is...or maybe she just can't bring herself to believe that it is really Leon hiding in that body.

Benny, I think we are ALL anxious to see the fireworks between Leonchi and Luci go off. And good luck with all your projects and coursework!

Adriana, CONGRATS!! Oh another little blessing for you...can't wait for the first pics!!

Anita, ITA about the gorgeous smile...and I also replayed and "froze" Leonchi at the cemetery with his shades on RAWWRR! ;-)

Adriana, Congratulations indeed! Babies are a wonderful gift to the world. They give us hope. They make us smile no matter how grumpy we are. And heck! they're just so cute, you forgive them the sleepless nights and the endless days of that first year. Wishing all the family health and joy but expecially you little mama.

There is for sure chemistry between Val and LeonChi. Thankfully Father Daughter, but she has not figured it out yet, she just knows that it sure feels good.

I am wit5h most of the patio in that Beltran and Gully could just go away. I hardly even pay attention to those two unless I somehow suspect Afterlife Chick, Renata, or Alicia may be lurking around.

I have to admit, seeing Chino murder his bestie in cold blood for what? the approval of Son of Satan made a point though.

i feel that this novela is leaving some unnecessary/repetitive scenes in here which then results in the show going really slow, i feel like there have been lots of long drawn out episodes that show the same thing. Like mateo and eva scenes bore me along with lucia and johnny. I really only wanna see jacobo and beltran but i do have to say that the cave scene wasn't really necessary but yea most people here don't really like guillermo and beltran which is fair.

Anon at 12:48--Just be thankful that there are only 87 episodes. In the "old" days, we'd be looking at 150 or more. Think of all those extended scenes and side stories that annoy you now and double them.

Is everyone waiting to see what happens when Leon-in-Chino kisses Karla? Sparks, electricity, glowing moth mancha? Will that send spirits back somewhere? Now I know they won't do a trans-sexual transformation, exchange of bodies???

Chess: Camila made a weird situation: He exchanged pieces so that a Queen was butt up against a King with different colors! I guess if it is the King's move, the King can take the Queen. But in chess Queens don't take Kings, they just trap them (checkmate). But he wasn't teaching chess.=

There’s a movie showing on Hallmark titles “Angel in the Family.” Makes m comes back from the dead to make amends and heal wounds. Sound familiar? Difference is that the woman is an “angel”...far cry from AAM

Thanks, guys! It's still early, so I'm sick all the time but I know it will get better.

RGV, it's good that you mention Leon's headstone - I had to scratch my head at that one. I mean, yes, he was a great man and whatnot, but he was also a devoted husband and father of three. I'm sorry, but family trumps country in my book. It's not like he was the president or a soldier, he just owned a Media business. They could have at least mentioned his kids, I think it would have made the same point to Leonchi.

Kirby, I couldn't agree more about Beltran, I just don't care about his search for explanations, I wish he could focus more on going back to Texas to get that money to save his pretend son.

Anita, I don't think Leonchi will have any sympathy for Lucia for now. He first needs to start seducing her and get her to open up; it would be too easy for her if he suddenly decided to save her.

Thanks Anita for such a detailed synopsis. MY REACTIONS:

The hokey cave meeting: I guess all it did was unsettle Chino-in-B. It reminds me a bit of A Christmas Carol w/ ghost of Christmas past, etc.

Barb needs to hire the kid since she is an incompetent Bruja.

Willy/Guillermo sure is incredibly nasty & ungrateful to Renata. The jerk needs a Singapore caning.

I don't recall the abogado Barato who voted w/ Johny Angel receiving a bribe. Did he?

Payphones seem almost extinct in USA; donno about Mexico tho. About a year ago I found one in the local Amtrack station, also I found 1 at a Flying something truck stop on an interstate HWY. I wanted one so I could anonymously register a Burner CellPhone Tracfone bought anonymously from WalMart so I could satisfy (confounded) Twitter's demand for a phone number.

Alicia said Beltran was NOT her husband; so does she think she is enjoying adultery with him? What should she care, since Chino-in-Beltran is a better husband? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Did Barato get money from Johny Angel?

I wait for Lucia to get jealous over Leon-in-Chino's relationship w/ his daughter Vale La Pena thinking it is a romance.

So Silvina can ID Leon by his unique tomato chomp?

IMHO the bleeding moth mancha is over the top yucky.

I'm not sure that the old Brujo is dead, but he looks it. If so, it is kind of a bummer in the plot. It suggests that La Muerte is not a nice girl.

Adriana Ole Tall Boy's quest for answers has been a tad problematic for him lately. Of course a dead Chamois laying around here and there is probably no big deal to a guy who launched his hobby by killing his best friend.

Adriana said, “He (Leonchi) first needs to start seducing her and get her (Lucia) to open up.” Hmmm, I’d better keep my mouth shut...LOL

IMHO: Genre of the story. Am I wrong to think this is not Magic Realism (no realism)? I guess I am judging from what little I have seen where there is just unexplained magic, not the obvious work of demons, idols, & the like. It seems quite common to see Tarot card fortune telling, but this story moves into a darker realm.

I think of this story as fitting 2 categories w/ a 3rd thrown in
1) Occult Story
2) Body Borrowing Story (Migration of spirit from cuerpo a cuerpo).
3) Narco gang

BTW, autocorrect will not allow me to use the correct word for Valerio, but is happy as a clam with Chamois, maybe having to do with my shopping online for boat cleaning supplies recently

Yeah, good call RGV..

Enoch, they only showed Johny talking Barreto into supporting him instead of Eva. They never showed Johny actually giving Barreto money, but obviously he did.

IMHO:
We all have different tastes, but to me La Muerte does not look hot, but creepy.

So Luci wud "never do something like that"? I still wonder what the heck she was planning to do?

Kirby, (thanks for the compliment), about all I see out of the cave experience is that Chino-in-Beltran may start feeling guilty; his conscience had been seared. Maybe he will start doing odd things? Will he try to make amends? Seems impossible. If so, we now have 2 persons on a guilt trip in the story; should we add in Lucia - she seems to keep the guilt down she goes down. I don't think the story will go this way, but it could become a melodrama of guilt, what with Eva for her adultery. So we shud find out if the author has some plot development w/ the cave thing, or is it just thrown in disjointed.

The moth-mancha girl provides another possible romance triangle vs Lucia, tho mancha girl seems loyal-minded to her family. To me she is more attractive than Lucia.

They won't do comedy in this, but when Willy put Renata out of his car, she should have reached over & popped the hood; then pulled out some little component so the car won't run. Then after he whines & gives in, she sticks a hair pin into the engine & it works. Then he gripes at her; she gets out & puts the hair pin again, until he gives in.

The cook Silvina is for me a "Blasina" character; like in La Viuda de Blanco where they bog-bored the story by having like 4 people/groups retell what we already saw. Blasina was an older servant who was ever talking with Cherubin, recounting what we already saw. Blather time filler.

Adriana: Do you expect Leon-in-Chino to seduce Lucia, or for Lucia to go into heat & pounce on him? I had rather see Lucia humbled by her uncontrollable lust. So she kisses, & he lets himself be kissed.

Kiry, to what do you refer by dead Chamois?

Valerio the dead fellow at the waterfall who was trying to get his Grandson back.

Yeah, I'm mostly joking about Afterlife Chick being hot. Especially after we got a good look at Karla, the Moth Tattoo girl. You know, the Gambler/Arsonist. OK, nobody's perfect, she admits she made a mistake, that is good enough for me.

Luci told Johny she 'would never do something like that' in reference to his paying scumball boy to vote against the Carvajal family members.

Rgv Chick, thank you for the kind wishes...Regarding whether Jacobo will take revenge on Lucia, I highly doubt it. The man is crazy about her, even after he found out she was cheating on him. Him seducing Lucia might begin as a revenge, but he will eventually fall into his own trap. Lucia to Jacobo, is like cocaine to its abuser. He knows she is no good for him, but he can resist her either...They are both in heat for each other, and sooner than later, they will both give in.

Benny

BRING ON KARLA & LEINCHINO!

I'm looking forward to plot development between Leon-in-Chino & Moth girl Karla. Lets see: Karla is not cured of her gambling addiction (on theory that addictions are never cured). So she tempts & persuades Leon-in-Chino to gamble & he loses everything? But he hasn't got anything to lose. So how bought Karla aids Leon-in-Chino into involving the accionistas in gambling until they all lose all their acciones & Leon-in-Chino ends up owning the empresa?

Maybe Karla goes to her husband & tells him she is his wife, but hubby rejects her & tells her that he is remarried. In fact when she knocks on the door, the new wife answers the door. Hubby calls the guys in white suits to put her in the manicomio. So then she takes up w/ Leon-in-Chino?

Or Karla goes to her home & looks thru window: there she sees her best friend canoodling with hubby, as he remarks how glad he is to be rid of his old battleaxe (maybe the old Karla was ugly?) Best friend say, "I'm glad Karla never found out about us. It was a brilliant idea of yours to say you were buying gas for the lawn mower & leave it in the garage where she would find it."

So Leon-in-China tells Lucia to get lost, get lost w/ your amante; chupate esa mandarina. Then Leon-in-Chino and Karla are mutually enamored until one day they kiss & trigger their moth-manchas. What then? A zap & Chino returns to his old body, while whatever woman the body Karla inhabits, also returns? Also Beltran returns to his body right when Chino-in-Beltran was kissing the wife. At that point the wife is very annoyed at the decline in smooch-quality, as Beltran pulls away to go to his studies. -- Or maybe the moth-duo kiss causes the old Brujo whom we thot died, to appear & start doing his American Indian circle dance & chant. "Haya Haya ho ho, Haya haya hee."

Enoch, you ask a great question : who will seduce who?
I don't feel like we get enough scenes of our protas together to be able to make an educated guess. We barely see them interact, I even have a better idea about Beltino and Alicia's love life...
I tend to go with Leonchi going the extra mile, but I'm almost sure that Lucia will barely put up a fight . So who will be seducing who after all?

Ya know I don't really, REALLY care who seduces WHO as long as it happens before I am too old to appreciate it.

AND Johny has to see it.

I'm all for LuciHo being redeemed, but I want to see her being willy willy baaaad first. :-) Woof.

Hmmm we have not seen Busty Proud in a few episodes either. Valerio the Shaman? was her friend or somehow connected. She is the one who set Beltrino up with him. Betcha she is going to be pissed.

We had not ever seen Death Chick speak until last night and it was right before Valerio expired. I wonder, when she has appeared other times could the people see her or just us and any passerby Shaman? But if she is invisible, why would the hemline be creeping up and she wear all these snazzy outfits?

Kirby, I think that the school girl who has a crush on Chino-Beltran is the grand daughter of the Shaman/Brujo. I was expecting plot development with that mina. If that old goat dies, Beltran needs an explanation. What's he gonna tell the cops? Valerio was doing an occult ritual & stepped out of the magic circle?

But maybe Brujito will see Abuelo in the crystal ball; then go & revive him.
As I think of it, if the mina is granddaughter of Valerio, what is her relation to the little Brujito? Will she put a hex on Beltran?

Why the hemline creeping up? Maybe the director is a dirty old man.

Now telenovelistas: remember that this is Univision, which seems to want to put on shows the whole family can watch. They may clean up Televisa's original & this is not Telinmundo.

Thanks Anita for your recap and making some sense of all the weird things happening last night...So Valerio was killed not by an assassin or the Drug Cartel by the hand of Santa Muerte....Ha! not really...So I kinda of understand transmigration... I think... but aren't all these people really dead..Karla, Beltino and Leon in Chino? Well.. can't miss tonight's episode...Elsa

E! When Beltrino demanded Valerio do something to get him some answers,Valerio our dead Shaman told him it was not recommended, as it is dangerous, and could kill them both. So I got the impression that it was not actually Sante Muerte, maybe someone in her knitting / crochet club.

It is already down to 60 degrees out there here in FloriDuh. We Floridians are shivering hoping winter doesn't drag on for many more days. Yankee tourists are out there frolicking in T-Shirts and shorts. Brrrrr.

Kirby--"AND Johny has to see it." If he does, let's hopeo El Chino's soul is back in his own body (and likes his new "luke") because Johny will be gunning for him for getting too near his main squeeze.

Kirby--Sixty is delightful when we mid-Atlantians have been shivering in a 30 degree chill. My grandson is currently in Minneapolis and loving the snow and low temps up there. Brrr. If I had the wherewithal, I'd make Florida my winter playground. As it is, I remain in the temperate zone.

Enoch,

"Why the hemline creeping up? Maybe the director is a dirty old man." Love your wit!

Question: what makes you think Rosita, the mina, is Valerio's granddaughter? When Rosita first told Beltino about Valerio, she only said she knew a man who was a shaman and wanted to invite him to their class. Then when she took Barbara and Beltino to meet Valerio, it didn't seem that they knew each other very well. OR could she be hiding the fact that she truly is his granddaughter?

RGV, yeah I forgot about that, and remember when they first went, he (Valerio) made Rosita wait outside?

alerio went to go see Rosita at her house to get Beltran's number and Rosita's mom answered the door with a nasty look at Valerio due to his clothing so no they aren't related.

Valerio*

OK good eye, Thanks. 6:50

Sheezo it takes a village, er, patio, to watch this show and catch all of it.

Kirby: "Sante Muerte, maybe someone in her knitting / crochet club."
Maybe the 3 fates (like end of King Arthur) are in the club.
I was thinking that mina Rosita was granddaughter of Valerio; but I must be mistaken. Tnx for correction.

As to FL, if I were there (aside from wanting to see the Bush II/AlGore hanging chad voting machines & ballots (or are they in the Smithsonian now?), I would like to get a real Key Lime pie.

I lived 4 years in Minneapolis; & yes it do get C O L D there. S N O W. Have you seen the tent city in Minnepolis; a bunch of Somalis living there? Hard to believe.

OT Enoch we have comer up with some chicanery vote counting schemes lately that show the hanging chads for the amateurish circus that they were.
