Amar a Muerte, 11/29/2018, Episode 21: Games Goons Play OR Colombo Solves the Case of the Missing iPhones

Recap by Rgv Chick

At the goon shack, Leo/Chi/Jac (LCJ) is about to reveal himself to Lucia when Goon 1 enters with good news…they are in luck (Rats! there just had to be an interruption!). He talked to his boss and the boss thinks they should be more practical; they don’t need to hold both of them since it means more food to bring and more eyes to watch them. LCJ agrees and tells him they should keep him…it would be more practical. Goon 1 scoffs and tells LCJ that he knows he wants to be a superhero, but that role doesn’t fit him well because he is just a simple chauffeur who is worthless. When Goon 1 asks Lucia if LCJ is her chauffeur or her lover, she repeats that he is her chauffeur; so Goon 1 tells them that he is the one to go…they’re not going to let him go…they are going to kill him. As LCJ is taken away, Lucia cries.  Wait ! With good news like this, don’t tell me the BAD news then.

Beltino is home and Alicia has made him a breakfast he will like. When he orders her to serve him, she responds, “Excuuuse me?” and tells him not to talk to her that way. He thinks she feels like fighting, but she just needs to talk to him. Beltino is not pleased and tells her to bring him some food, they MIGHT talk later. She starts to rag on him because of the way he is talking to her…like a vulgar scoundrel. As Beltino gets up and leaves angrily, Alicia thinks she is living with a stranger…and alone. So Prof, you went swimming with your good clothes on and now you’re a cave man?

Karla is at work when some lady drops off a fine material dress to be cleaned. The owner tells Karla that he wants her to clean it since she is the one with the most experience. As she looks at the dress trying to figure out how she is going to clean it, Camilo calls and she confirms their meeting.

Vale and Juli are in the pool. Vale has her arms around Juli as she teaches her to float when Lucho drops by with his friend Sergio. While Vale gets out and talks to Lucho, Sergio helps Juli out of the pool and they introduce themselves to each other. Meanwhile Tiberio is raking leaves when Silvina takes him some coffee. As he tells her what dessert would go well with the coffee, he notices how distracted Silvina is and asks what is on her mind. Silvina shares that Vale brought over a friend who seems to be a nice girl, but she happened to touch her and had a vision—Juli was running and Silvina heard gunshots. Silvina worries about what Juli may be involved in; so Tiberio asks if she saw who was chasing Juli, but Silvina doesn’t know…maybe the popo. When Silvina mentions that Juli is from San Antonio and that she may be running from someone, Tiberio cautions her not to jump to conclusions…they should get to know Juli better.  Well, maybe, if Vale doesn’t beat you to it.

Back at the pool, Lucho complains because Vale doesn’t seem too pleased to see him...he just wanted to surprise her. As they argue, Sergio brings Juli her blouse (given to him by Silvina). Juli doesn’t give him much of a smile which he quickly notes, so she explains that she is usually more serious when she doesn’t know someone. As he is about to invite her out so they can get to know each other better, Lucho comes and tells him that they are leaving. After they leave, Juli wonders if Vale and her bf fought again, but Vale isn’t sure what Lucho is to her anymore…boys are all the same.  The winds of change are blowing?  OK maybe just a slight breeze.

At the goon shack, Lucia hears gunshots and jumps up alarmed. Goon 1 holds her back, then takes her to the other room where LCJ is hunched over, but alive. Goon 1 laughs and asks LCJ, “Did you think you were dead? Well, you were born again!” (ohh, if he only knew!) He then explains that they do this for entertainment…so things won’t get boring and adds that blood will be spilled when the time comes. Yeah, Goonie, everybody luuurves a flippin comedian.  Where were we?  After they are taken back to their room, Lucia hugs LCJ.

At Camilo’s, Camilo gives Karla the order for some tests which will cost her nothing since they will help her out with the costs. He then asks her to tell him about herself so she tells him that her name is Jeraldi Jiminez and her daughter is Monica. She worked at a bank as an account manager. They were going to make her general manager…she handled a lot of money and some very big accounts. When Camilo asks if she took money, she admits that she started by taking only a small amount and would pay it back, but knowing that the money was so accessible, she started gambling more. When a person wins, they tend to want to gamble more. Karla flashes back to when she stole a stack of money as she tells Camilo that she was invited to play higher stakes, but they required her to have a million pesos. That wasn’t a problem for her since she had been doing this for months and the people at the bank were used to seeing her carry around brief cases full of money. That one night, she had the misfortune of dealing with some racketeers who tricked her and she lost all the money she had taken…3 million pesos. Camilio questions why she took more than needed; so she explains that winning makes you feel invincible. She continues that the bank found out about the money and her family did everything possible to avoid her going to prison, but it was too much money. She just wanted to disappear so she tried to commit suicide…but here she is. She swears that she is going to get the money to help her family out of the misery she put them in. Let us guess, with MORE gambling, right?  When Karla tells Camilo about all the money she won last night playing poker, Camilo leans back in wonderment.

At the company, Johny tells his secretary to call Montilla, but Eva quickly says, “No!” and pulls him back into his office to tell him that she was told they couldn’t call the cops. Johny thinks that all kidnappers say the same thing, but Eva insists that if they call the cops, it’ll only complicate things. Johny panics because he just wants Lucia back (she does hold the shares, ya know?). Eva tells him to calm down; it’s not as if Lucia is his wife. Johny agrees but adds that she was her father’s wife and he has to look out for everyone’s well-being. Oh Boy, it is getting deep in here. When she repeats that he should calm down, Johny questions how she would expect him to feel, or should be happy like she is?  Eva is aghast and tells him that they called her and she could have remained silent, but she didn’t because she doesn’t play with people’s lives.  Johny apologizes; he is just very nervous and wants them to work together to get through this. Eva agrees, but emphasizes that they should not call the cops.

Silvina washes a large window when she sees Frau giving specific orders to the security men; so she goes to ask if something is going on. When Frau tells her that Lucia and LCJ are missing and they haven’t heard from them since they left in the morning. Silvina remarks that she knew something bad was going to happen today; so Frau jumps on her and asks if she knew something, but Silvina tells him it was just intuition…that only women have. She then asks Frau to keep her informed and scurries away.  (Makes a mental note to fix him Max’s leftovers for lunch.)

At the police station, Fabián talks to Mariela on the phone and tells her “not to be that way” and he will call her later. He goes to sit with the Mejía, the PI and tells him that if he doesn’t get back to San Antonio, his wife will divorce him. He can’t believe he could lose his family over this #@&* that hasn’t appeared. PI tells him to calm down; as soon as Montilla arrives, they can give him their proposal. Fabián is sure that with Montilla’s help and their plan, they will soon capture El Chino. Youse guys need to recruit yourselves some decent goons.  You’d have him by now.  Just then Montilla arrives and Fabian tells him that they have a plan to expedite things, but Montilla gets a call from Johny (who wasn’t supposed to get the popo involved). Johny tells him that Lucia has been kidnapped. Montilla quickly hangs up and tells Fabian and the PI that he has to leave…it’s an emergency. Fabián yells at Montilla, but Mejía tells him to calm down. Fabián wonders what they will do now.

At Camilo’s house, Cami tells Karla that gambling is an addiction, a sickness that has only brought her problems. Karla argues that the problem was not taking the money and losing it; the problem was encountering those racketeers. Before Karla leaves, Cami reminds her to go for her tests; he needs her file. He then suggests hypnosis, but Karla worries of having more problems because of the hypnosis. He assures her there won’t be any problems, so she agrees.

At a restaurant, Renata figures that this is Guille’s way a fixing things…to bring her to a very expensive restaurant. When she asks if he doesn’t have any other way to apologize, Guille asks her not to judge him all the time…he’s not the typical daddy’s little boy. He is tired of everyone judging others by appearances without looking deeper inside the person. Well, Goober, judging by your actions you for sure come in last place.  Renata tells him that he has nothing to show otherwise…his actions speak louder than his appearance. Guille then asks Renata to view him as a normal person since money doesn’t make a person better or worse. After Renate tells him that if he wants to be considered a normal person, he should act like one, Guille thinks the lunch was not a good idea.  Renata concurs and starts to leave, but when Guille tells her that he looked at her social media profile, he saw that she likes desserts and this place has the best desserts. Renata craves…(throw her a dessert and she’ll melt!)

At the Carvajal home, the girls are getting dressed when Vale gives “Juls” a necklace. Juls isn’t used to getting gifts, but when Vale tells her that all she needs to do is say “thank you,” Juls smiles and accepts; though she feels bad that she didn’t bring Vale anything…so she gives Vale her blouse. After Vale gives Juls a wrap, they share a hug.

Alicia takes Beltino to the university. He complains and she reminds him that he has classes to teach, but first he has to go justify his absences so as not to be fired. Two students come up and tell Beltino that they are glad he is back; he responds that he is only there because “someone” (as he points to Alicia) forced him to come. As Alicia is scolding him for making fun of her, Rosita comes running up to them and tells Beltino that she has been looking for him. He goes with Rosita (and the twins) and Alicia keeps watching attentively.

Frau and company find the SUV Lucia was in. Meanwhile, Mateo, Johny and Eva are discussing why Mateo shouldn’t have his article printed. They are in the middle of a war and this is serious. As they argue, Frau calls Johny and tells him they found the vehicle, but there are no traces of Lucia or LCJ. When Johny hangs up, he tells Eva and Mateo that he doesn’t understand why Lucia and LCJ would get out of the vehicle if it was an armored one. Eva suggests that maybe the goons had powerful weapons or maybe the chauffeur was an accomplice. Johny dashes out to go see what happened.  Johny probably wishes now he had sent her to the vet to have her chipped.

At the goon shack, LCJ reminds Lucia what she was taught: don’t look at their faces, try to win their trust and don’t provoke them. After Lucia asks how he knows that León taught her that, Goon 2 comes in with food. Lucia asks if he expects them to eat with their hands tied; so the goon releases her hands and tells her not to do anything stupid or she’ll earn her ticket to the other side. Lucia then asks about LCJ’s tied hands, but the goon won’t untie him…if she cares so much about him, she can feed him. Goon 1 then comes in and tells Lucia and LCJ that he has more news…he’s been talking to Eva, the eldest Carvajal daughter. When he asks LCJ if she was the one who wrote the article, LCJ replies that she had nothing to do with it. Goon 1 then takes LCJ aside and asks if they should trade this woman for the Carvajal daughter. LCJ replies, “Come with me.”

At the university, Rosita tells Beltino that Valerio went to look for him at her house and wonders if Valerio found him. Beltino tells her that he wants nothing to do with Valerio or any shamans; he was just a fake. He recommends that she not even go to house. He then asks what she eats that makes her so beautiful kind. When he suggests that they go out for a frozen treat, she quickly agrees to meet with him after class.

Out on the street, Montilla asks for fingerprints and any videos in the area. Johny approaches and asks if there is any evidence of violence; Montilla says, “no.” After Eva arrives, Johny asks Frau if the panic button is functioning. When Frau confirms that it is, Johny wonders why LCJ didn’t use it. He then goes to talk to Montilla to get reassurance that calling the cops was a good idea. Montilla replies that he had to do the right thing since they are the experts in these types of situation. Montilla then requests that Johny keep the media away. A reporter tries to argue, but Montillo tells them to go to their homes or offices. Johny then asks Montilla if he has a plan or idea of what will happen. Montilla shares that they are tracking Lucia’s phone to try to identify her location. He then asks Johny to keep his distance and let them do their jobs. When Montilla then goes to tell Eva that they are going to track all of their phones, she doesn’t look too happy (her honey bunny ain’t gonna be happy either).

Outside the goon shack, Chuspa (Goon 1) asks Leo which of the two women they should do away with. LCJ replies that he is only the chauffeur and the woman is the owner of the newspaper. Ever since the old man died, there is one person who makes all the decisions, Johny Corona. Chuspa mentions Susana, but LCJ tells him it’s not her. Chuspa thinks they need to get whoever is at the root of the problem, but he will consider the option LCJ suggested.

At the company, Mateo tells Susana about the kidnapping. Susana feels guilty since she wrote the article, but Mateo tells her that Palomarez wash the one that made the decision to print the article. Susana is still afraid and rushes off to go get her kids…and leave the country.

Renata tells Guille that he didn’t have to order every dessert, but she is luurving them!  Then she asks why he is looking at people’s social profiles if he doesn’t have an account for himself. Just then, Guille gets a call from Eva who tells him of the kidnapping. When she tells him to go home and to be careful, he hangs up and tells Renata that he has to leave. He apologizes and will explain later.

Lucia tastes the food and makes a face. As she holds up an apple so LCJ can eat, LCJ tells her that it is ironic that the widow of Mexico is feeding the chauffeur.  Lucia tells him that he can’t even imagine where she came from. She holds the apple for him to bite (Adam/Eve???), but he has a hard time biting into it so she takes the first bite. She then gets some water and starts to clean up the blood on LCJ’s face. He flinches; so she wipes him gently as he looks at her admiringly.

Karla is walking along when she thinks she sees Monica, her little girl. She calls out to her, but the girl keeps walking away. Karla hurries after her. When the little girl turns around, Karla sees that it isn’t Monica and start to gasp.

Montilla rushes out of the building because reinforcements have arrived. When Johny walks after him, Montilla tells him to stay away since he is already too involved. Johny is just very nervous because Lucia’s life is in peril. Montilla sarcastically tells him that is probably because she has been kidnapped…that has been very clear to him since the start (rolls eyes?). The life of Jacobo Reyes is also in peril. Montilla then suggests that if he is so interested, Johny can join them in the operation; he will gethim a bullet proof vest, but he can’t be held responsible if Johny gets shot in the face (good idea!). Johny backs down.

Chuspa gets a call from his boss. He calls his goons and tells them to be on the lookout and to get ready so they won’t be taken by surprise. Inside the shack, LCJ thanks Lucia for helping him. When she asks what he talked about with Chuspa, LCJ tells her he just wanted to know if he knew who was responsible for all of this and he told him “no.” LCJ doesn’t understand why they haven’t asked for money. He wonders what it is they want. When Lucia fears that they are going to kill them, LCJ tells her to calm down; he is with her in all of this. She then rests her head on his shoulder.

The cops are on the way. Meanwhile, the goons take LCJ away. Lucia tries to follow, but Chuspa warns her to stay put and stay quiet or she’ll end up where LCJ will be going.

At the company, Mateo asks Eva for an update. She tells him they traced their phones and found their location. Mateo is impressed with how she has handled everything; she could have remained quiet. After Eve tells him that she doesn’t wish death upon anyone, Kayla tells them there is a news report on TV about the kidnapping. They all watch together.

Camilo watches the news report. Meanwhile, Guille is at home and tells Vale about the kidnapping. They then also see the news report which states that the kidnapping has the whole country moved.

At the goon shack, Chuspa points his gun at Lucia and takes her away. LCJ is sitting in a room alone; gets up to looks out the window as the goons are quickly giving orders.
Johny paces in his office and calls Eva. He asks if Eva leaked the info. After she asks where he got that idea, he hopes that everything goes well or she will be very sorry.
The cops close in and get ready to enter the shack. They take out one goon and enter the shack but no one is there. When they search the house, they find the phones.

Has anyone checked the back of Silverfish' neck to see if she has the moth mancha? So Silverfish also is a bruja or a vividente, algo asi. Maybe she can tell the cops where Lucia & Jacobo are. Still no heroics from Leon-in-Chino, sigh.

How shud we interp Carla? Is she a gambling addict or a genius at poker who only got in trouble because of cheating? But how long wud you gamble w/ such people & not encounter cheating? And if you win, what are the chances you won't make it home w/ your money? Here embezzling argues for gambling addict.

BTW, if your DVR fails, the episodes are being put on YouTube, only what I would call capitulo 21 is posted in YOutube as Cap 23.

The cops shud have used helicopters.

I got a bit of a chuckle out of Leon-in-Chino naming Johny as at fault for the bad publicity to the thugs, in this game of
The Prince of Wales has lost his hat:
Jacobo go . . . [to the foot]
: Who sir me sir? No sir, not I sir.
Who then sir?
Jacobo, "Johny, sir."

I'm not sure how the prensa got the news about the sequester. Can someone clue me in?

Enoch, there were only two people that knew about the kidnapping who would have even considered calling the media: Eva and Johny. My bet is on Eva...she hates Lucia; and if Lucia gets killed, she'll blame the media...it won't be her doing. LCJ (Leon-in Chino) didn't give her the time of day, so she could care less about him. Hmmm, there was also Mateo, but naahh, he's too much of a wuss and he'd rather be the one to write about it first.

Has there ever been a telenovela that had as many brujos/brujas/psychics & the like as this one?

Not vividente but vidente = seer (alternative word for prophet sometimes). Does this mean like 2nd sight? ability to see the near future?

Thanks Rgv Chick. And loved the photo. Although I knew Leonchi's confession would be interrupted, still, it was a bit of a disappointment.

"It's getting deep around here" was great as was

" Johny probably wishes now he had sent her to the vet to have her chipped."

Not sure where the Juli/Val story is going but I remember in college there were several women who chose the lesbian lifestyle after callous treatment by boyfriends.

Thanks for another well-paced, snarky recap. Will look forward to watching this later today.

Thank you for the recap Rgv Chick...I also think it was Eva who filtered out the news about Lucia and Jacob's kidnapping. There is no way it could be Johnny. I've got to say, I feel a little sorry for him. While he is worried sick about Lucia, she on the other hand is falling in love with Jacobo...I know he is a villain, but I can't help but feel just a tad bit sorry...on another note, I am loving how Lucia and Jacob's relationship is developing. It's not just a passionate escapade, she is truly falling for him. I see her character redeemable in my eyes, and I would like her to have a happy ending, if it is possible. I wonder how they are going to get out of this sequestro. Looking forward to the next episode.

Benny.

Thank you clever girl. Much appreciated. So that was not Karla's daughter, but she had a patch of grey in her hair exactly where Lady Death has hers. Hmmmmm I have given up on actually figuring out all the different curves this show throws at us. It is like raking leaves in a hurricane.

Yep, old smarty pants Johny should have had his prize pet chipped the last time she was in for her distemper shots.

Dam I was pissed when all they found was the phones. Columtillo was looking pretty good up until that point
The apple part even got through to my stone heart. That was sweet. And yeah, she is falling and she can't get up.

Why haven't we made up a fitting name for Johny? Oh we have ? But even the most flattering ones would not do to print here anyway.

BTW where is Steve? I kinda miss his nuclear bomb take on everything. "You want Cheerios or Raisin Bran for Breakfast Steve?"
"Kill them all and let God sort it out. How many bodies was that anyway?"
"OK, Cheerios it is."

Benny you kinda sort of maybe feel a little sorry for Johny? Having your Best Friend / Boss stabbed in the gut and killed at his wedding in front of his children and new bride pretty much takes pity off the table for me, :-) Grrrr

Happy Friday Patio. And thanks again RGV for another great, well written recap.

In other news, the coveted blue Mercedes still is being driven. In one scene is has been parked tail out---->

Thanks for kicking off the discussion, Enoch, JudyB, Benny and Kirby.

I was a little disappointed in the rescue attempt too. Helicopters would have been good, Enoch. My question is who took the phone from Lucia? id they enjoy it? Ok. I'm being bad, I'll stop. THe scenes were quick and a bit choppy. So did they move Lucia and LCJ to another location. Or was goon who got killed put out as bait along with the phones in a different location? This TN is too fast, too furious.

I do have to say that Chuspa and his goons are a tad bit more cautious and reluctant to kill than Alacran and his goons. Alacran would have probably shot any "worthless" hostage right away...just like he shot Lupitas's cousin in the market.

JudyB, I don't know where the Vale/Juls story is going either. It does seem to be going toward a serious relationship with them, but then women tend to show more affection (emotional and physical) toward each other than men do despite their sexual preference.

Benny, I'm still hoping that some of EL Chino's instinct comes out and LCJ manages to save the day. Enoch, I finally thought of one TN where the male lead was a hero and did alot of saving: "Manana Es Para Siempre" with Fernando Colunga; did you see that one?

Kirby, Ican;t seem to come up with a good name for Johny. If he were a sex maniac, I would call him JohorNy, but he doesn't seem to be. I think Adriana has come up with the best one yet: JohnyBeBad. I ususl take that and change the ending: JohnyBEvil, JohnyBeSkeered, etc.

Maybe JonEvil. Some of us who type about 10 WPM shy away from names like Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Then we can later name him JonDead.

And I'm warning the Death Chick right here and now,he STAYS dead, got it?

:-)

thank you, Chickie. I had to stay overnight at my daughters house last night because she had parent conferences . My grandgirls and I watched a Christmas movie on Netflix after I made them dinner, so I was unable to watch this episode. I do enjoy the recaps and comments. I think that Lucia is falling in love again with Leons spirit in Chinos body. However, I cannot see how this can lead to a happy ending. I am getting tired of our cold, gray weather, and we might be getting some sleet today. my grandgirl has been fighting a cold and sore throat all week, so I am here with her today. After she does her homework for Monday, we will do a Christmas craft and watch another Christmas movie. stay warm and safe everyone.

WE'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT LEON-IN-CHINO WUD HAVE TOLD LUCIA,
but they can't end the story by divulging secrets at this point.

The Ol Almost-Spill-the-Beans-Routine

Lucia, theyz something I just gotta tell you.
OK.
Lucia, this has weighed on my heart so long.
I'm listening.
Lucia, I just must get this off my chest.
I understand.
Lucia, I hate to hurt you, but
Go ahead!
Lucia, my mother told me not to tell you
Out with it!
Lucia, it's like this.
I'm all ears.
Lucia, here goes.
Have at it.
THEN Cell phone rings or someone barges into the room or (in old cowboy movies) a hand on an arm enters through an open window; hand has a gun on it; BANG!

They could go on have the episode w/ almost spilling the beans, but they never come out.

Enoch. So right.
"I don't know an easy way to tell you this I wear blue contacts." Aaaaaarrrrrggggghh

Chick, thanks for another great FILL A, resumen.
MY REACTIONS 1 / IMHO

Cud it be that they are multiplying Moth Mancha People & Witches to the excess? Now Silverfish.

A slight breeze? Or a stink?
LCJ? I like the acronymn.

If someone is angry, & you tell him to calm down, what will be the result?

So just what does Fabian plan to do to "Chino"? I thot "Chino" was free on double-jeopardy. Do the Mex cops have grounds to arrest "Chino"?

Karla wud be an idiot to let Camilo pretend to regress her.

If Renata looks deeply into Willy, she is going to see a jerk, which is obvious even on the surface. Normal person? If normal persons are selfish, at least they manage to hide it a lot. Investigating enough to find out that Renata likes her postre seems inconsistent w/ his usual non-empathetic narcissism.

Val & her new pal seem to be at least a tad on the sticky side.

Highlight of the Resumen: "Johny probably wishes now he had sent her to the vet to have her chipped." ROFL

Willy the Jerk abandons Renata in the restauranta; like dumping her before. Why didn' she pick up a cream pie & give him the old pastelazo in the face?

The environment didn't seem enough like the Garden of Eden for Lucia to be offering an apple to her Adam.

We have another cliffhanger in that Mateo may be about to discover that he is wearing horns without using a mirror. It looks like there is an alternative woman he is friendly with at the Prensa HQ.

Kirby, I'll need to check the scene again of the non-daughter of Karla. Brilliant observation. La Muerte in disguise? Playing fun & games?

Raking leaves: The plot to me is diffuse & Byzantine, a lot of separate stuff going in separate directions as of now.

I call Johny "Johny Angel"(for the old song, resung by Karen Carpenter). He is one of the most repugnant villains I recall having seen. How Anon-Benny cud feel sorry for him is beyond me.

FriFish night approacheth, & we expect an advance in the sex-mance of Chino-in-Beltron with the mina. But he is taking her for ice cream, not to a bar for some reason.

Chick:

To me the speed of the TN is tangential speed, quick entry into side paths, like The College Girl Mina w/ Tall Guy.

ALL-A-CRANE is a question mark. Does his gang like another gang to be outed or do they stand together on opposing publicity? Of course if he is on Eva's side, rescuing Lucia wud not be desired.

Vale/Juls story. thus far, I call it "sticky."

"Fernando Colunga; did you see that one?" No, but Amor Real is a favorite of mine. Didn't he get shot in AR tho? I think FC is a great actor. Mauricio Islas (a heroic but TN-suffering hero in that one too) got shot, even to death. Mauricio Islas became a Christ-figure in Los Plateados (extensive resemblance complete w/ death, resurrection & Mary Magdalene visiting the dead body, whom she revived in Los P. I guess that MI is a Christ figure, substutionary death, also in Amor Real.

I call him Johny Angel. Do U know the old-now song? Karen Carpenter redid it.

SUSANLYNN:

Last I looked Thursday's episode was uploaded to YouTube as capitulo 23 in three parts.
Somebody has been uploading Amar a Muerte on YouTube; I expect Univision to eventually block the uploads. They probably have a direct contact with YouTube to inform of copyright violations to which YouTube will respond at once.

JOHNNY ANGEL by Karen Carpenter?

Do you "tingle when he passes by" on the screen? (Not me.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpkf7yTFCU4

I have never heard a female singer w/ a more beautiful voice than Karen Carpenter's.

enoch...I loved the song Johnny Angel . It was sung by Shelly Fabres.

enoch...my favorite telenovelas are Alborado and Amor Real..both starring Fernando Colunga.

Susanlynn, good to know that you are keeping busy and in touch. Your daughters and granddaughters are like rays of sunshine that peak through the storm you are going through. Praying for the the one with the broken arm heals quickly and that your other granddaughter wins her fight with the cold and sore throat. Yes, Lucia is falling for Leon's soul and those baby blue eyes sure are windows to the soul....that HAWT package helps too :-) Kirby, shame on you for making us doubt that those baby blues are fake! :-P

Enoch, "The Ol Almost-Spill-the-Beans-Routine" VERY aggravating isn;t it? and yes, I do remember and like "Johny Angel" but I don't remember the remake, just the Shelly Fabares version. I would never have associated that song with our odious Johny.

I have no idea what Fabian will do if he ever finds El Chino. As fara as the cops are concerned, the only way I can explain why they would interested in finding El Chino is that he crossed over illegally.

BTW the goons would have heard the choppers coming a mile away, but a helicopter does make a convenient chase vehicle. It was on the news around here where some kid on a motorcycle OUTRAN the popo helicopter.

OK so we are seeing the tender side of Lucia falling for Jacobo, and this time she really means it, because no one is urging her to and he supposedly has nothing to offer.

Who else thinks it will be fun seeing it scramble her yolks when it comes to light that the Luuuurve of her life, jer chofer, is actually the guy she married for underhanded reasons and cheated on the whole time.

Who hopeos he falls for her, and who hopeos he can resist and make her pay. (ME).

" they would interested in finding El Chino is that he crossed over illegally." Oh simple: They know Ala is gunning for him and want to take him into protective custody.

Yeah, he'd be hot with one blue and one brown like a Siberian Husky split eye. #sorrynotsorry

kj

Kirby...if Lucia truly loves Leon-Chino, I hope it works out because I believe in true love. However, I do not see how this violent, complicated, occult plot can result in any happy endings.

Sue ! What a sweet surprise. I think he will be the catalyst which redeems her, or at least allows her to redeem herself.

Lucia has done some shady things and she does not get a pass because her parents were scumbags. If that were the case we would hardly need jails. She knows about a murder, and kept quiet about it, so falling for him now may be a harsher punishment meted out by fate than any man-mad punishment could be.

I too, want them to eventually in the end find happiness. But before that, life has some uncollected debts outstanding.

All of us are happy with your little updates, we think about you all the time.

Kirby..thank you. I feel wounded and weird and lost , but I am trying to make contact with people in my real world and my cyber world. I have to try to figure out who I am now without him. I am trying to hold on.

Sue it must be like one of our characters in this show. Half of me is gone, so now what do I do with this which I have left? You are smart and strong, though you may not see it that way right now.

SUSANLYNN:
Thanks for telling me about Alborado; I intend to check it out.
Occult indeed; has anyone seen a more occult TN?

FALLING FOR LEON'S SOUL:
Pardon me for a ref to El Cuerpo del Deseo; some may want to watch it; so I don't want to spoil it for such. But the cuerpo = Mario Cimarro, & the women in ECDD go into spontaneous heat when they view his cuerpo del deseo; it ain't his soul they want; however, his arrogance may be part of his attraction. Don't some women like arrogance in a man?

Blue Eyes:
Seems they like to use non-brown eyed persons for lead roles in this show. I don't have brown eyes, but I find brown eyes very attractive in a woman. Eva's eyes look grey to me. I think that Hispanics where the predominate eye color is brown, tend to lump green, blue, grey eyes into one word expression "ojos claros."

Crossed over illegally!?
would Jorge Ramos allow that on Univision? Don't you gotta say indocumentado?
BTW, do we know where Chino was born? Was he legally in USA to begin with?

Enoch they only find a slathering of arrogance attractive when there is a reason for it. If he is dam smart and dam good looking and a nice guy with a little arrogance thrown in, it'll make their clothes fall off.

HOw many plots now?

1) Lucia/Johny/Leon-in-Chino romance triangle
2) Eva puts horns on Mateo, who is chatting up some girl in the office,
3) El Jerko mistreats Renata, while his conscience bothers him over a shooting.
4) Eva & The Scorpion
5) non-Columbo's detective work.
6) Murdered judge's son pursues (Leon-in) Chino.
7) Karla the gambler
8) Chino-in-Beltran conflicts w/ "wife" & goes after college girl
9) Gang attacks prensa,
10) Chino-in-Beltran tries to recover maletin a/ $ while fake-Bruja horns in,
11) Chino-in-Beltran conscience-guilt w/ La Muerte after him.
12) Val & Juli get sticky

What else?

Kirby...hmmm..I have never found arrogance attractive in anyone. however, I have always found kindness, goodness, and sweetness attractive . luckily, I have known many people who have those qualities in both the real world and the cyber world. Caraycaray is filled with them.

SusanLynn, count me in for not liking arrogance in anyone. Self-assured,yes, arrogance, nopis!

Kirby, lol, my biggest weakness is seeing someone distraught, I totally forget how evil the person might be...thank you for reminding me how bad Johnny is hehehe :)....

Rgv Chick, no I haven't watched that novela, the only novela of Colunga I have watched, is Esmeralda unfortunately.

Enoch, I have watched el cuerpo del deseo, and although I loved Salvador, there were times were his arrogance was unbearable...I would choose Jacobo over Salvador any day.

Hi Susanlynn, although I am neither a close friend nor family, I'm really sorry for your loss.

Benny

benny..thanks. that is kind of you.

OK, you have increased my esteem of womanhood!

susanlynn,
I take it that you have suffered a bereavement, & my heart goes out to you. I prayed for you.

enoch...the love of my life since I was 17 died suddenly and unexpectedly of a massive heart attack in October. We had a very happy marriage. I was blessed to have him. he was a wonderful husband, father, father in law, grandfather, son, friend. I have been here at caray from its beginning about 11 years ago and have many friends here.

There's still time for more comments, but just wanted to thank everyone for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and perceptions. Great comments...always very entertaining and a joy to read.

Enoch, just to add to your list of plots: Mateo's plight to oust the Cartels and get revenge for Gaston's murder.I don't think we've seen the last of Santi and his mom, so maybe there will be a plot line there too. And glad we increased your esteem of womanhood :-)

Benny, I didn't see Fernando Colunga in Esmeralda, but I did see the original Esmeralda a loooog time ago with Lupita Ferrer and Jose Bardina as the protags.

Well Chick, I think most of us are wanting to see more of the Brujito. Come to think of it, he is like a loose cannon. Now what could we have him do? He cud tell the cops where Lucia is or more likely, where his grandpa is. U reckon they will further complicate the story by having the old Shaman inhabit somebody's body? Gaston?

They could have Santi (Jimbo?) get out the crystal ball & tune in on Eva as she visits the Scorpion, then suddenly a blocking banner crosses inside the ball & says, "Confirm your age that you are over 18."

susanlynn
Death is a very cruel separator. But this life is short. And the separation can be brief. There is a place where all tears are wiped away & the separation for a few years is replaced by eternal union in perfect bliss, though there be no more "marriage" as we have known it.

I knew a lady who lost a child and it drove her to make sure she would go to Heaven so she could see her child again.

Enoch, I would like to see Santi out by that waterfall. He stands in the safety circle in a white robe, lifts his hands as electrical currents flow out of his fingers to kill all those black moths and blast Lady Death to oblivion...then he can go do that to Alacran and Johny...just a thought :-)

Boy, Enoch you have a point there. With all these floating souls, crystal balls, psychic cooks, and Sesame Street Sooth Sayers, you would think some----one would harness all that mystical horsepower and get us a GPS loc on Lucia or Jacobo. Or better yet Goon A Goon B or Goon C.

Tired of the ass end of a car

Nice shot Kirby! Is that one eagle looking for a black moth tattoo on the other one? BWAHAHAHA

She is saying...Are you listening to ME?

Yeah she could be. "Here bend down, let me have a look at that. You have been kinda off lately."

BTW Enoch if you are listening: Some of us (ME) sort of share pictures via the avatars. Those of us on Google, as evidenced by the orange circle with a white G+ in it, use actual normal pictures to make these thumbnail avatars. But if you click on our name it will open our Google+ page, then click on the avatar again and it opens up a Muuuucho larger version of it. You can even copy it, though it is a compressed version of the original.

For mine, if you ask, I will happily email you the full resolution originals.
