Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 11/26/18 Capítulo 55: Road Trip!!!

At Susana's,  Sebas video calls his father and invites him to his school play.  Vicente says he will do all that he can to be there. Sebas knows HE won't let him down. He also would love for Vicente to take him to Africa so he could see all of the animals.  Susana talks about that not working during the school year. Axel is very quiet and Vicente notices it. He asks is he is upset about a girl that got away. Axel says it is nothing like that and thinks of Linda.

In the girls' dormitory, Linda is looking at pictures of Iker and Axel.  Blanca  grabs her phone away and declares it is bedtime. Luckily, Linda was looking at Iker. Blanca thinks he is sort of cute and wonders if she likes him. Linda snatches her phone back and asks her mom to stay out of her business. Blanca is still going to stay with them especially now since the problem with Frida, Linda not wanting to follow the rules and Dani on  the reality show.  They need some strict supervision.  Linda settles in with her phone.

Dani and Gabriel are still in the cabin.  She is now having second thoughts about going ahead and having sex. Gabriel thinks that showing love for each other is never a bad idea while Dani thinks it will make things just more complicated.  She does not want to go home and  still have a lot to fix in their relationship.

Pancho asks Temo if he has ever found a  guy that he likes like maybe Ari. Temo says they can talk about it another time.

At supper at Polita's, Audifaz decides  to tell him about something that makes him really happy.  He has converted to be a Christian.  Ari says that scares him because he can see that making Audifaz even more closed off from them and the world in general.

Julieta and Robert have a discussion about Dave and his father.  They got on so well. She wonders what will happen next.   She is worried about Dave leaving them.  What if Dave prefers him to them? She sees Fernando as a threat to their family. What she feared is coming true.

Pancho feels like talking to Susana after Temo's announcement. He'll come to her house.  They talk about the difficulties of parenting. She realizes that Temo coming out to him is a big deal and she is there for him. She tells him to accept and defend his son because people with wrong ideas can hurt him.  Pancho thanks her for listening to him. She picks up the model boat they completed and tells him that even though we feel like we are in a storm sometimes, we always stay afloat.  She puts the boat in the pool and it floats. They kiss.

The next morning at Blanca's things are moving. Blanca is going to a double dance class and then to buy things for Dave's first communion. Imelda gets Tulio up from the couch by twisting his ear and lectures him on alcoholism. He insists he is not going to be an alcoholic.  Linda and Audifaz chime in.  Audifaz goes on about needing to stay sober so the devil doesn't get him. Imelda asks Audifaz why he goes around citing the Bible these days. He announces that he has become a Christian,  Blanca's eyes get big as saucers. The doorbell rings conveniently. It is Julieta with the kids.  Dave makes a big announcement: yesterday he met his REAL dad. Blanca tells Julieta she understands how she must feel about the Fernando situation. They need time to talk about that and some other things. . Eugenio can watch the baby. She will drive Julieta to work. Driving relaxes Blanca.

Enzo lays it out for Amalia. as they are walking through the park.   What is she going to do if she puts herself through liposuction snd then feels the same on the inside. She tries to explain that she jus wants to try to be happy. Enzo informs her that if she is planning on going ahead with liposuction, it is best they end their relationship right now.  She is shocked. but says if he cannot accept her decision, it is all over. She leaves him standing alone.

At work, Robert is at a meeting fighting for the very existence of his foundation. There is not money for the expensive treatments like Gabi's.  Treatments like that are going to have to be cancelled. Robert says it is not the patient's fault. The phone rings and it is Fernando wanting to know when  he can see Dave again. He wants to take him out.  Robert says he cannot take Dave out alone because they do no know him sell enough yet.  Robert will call him back and come  up with an alternative. Tavo tells the people at the meeting that they have to defend this foundation. Robert is going to get a new fundraising campaign going.

Once in Julieta's vehicle, Julieta notices they are not heading to her office.  They are going to Mexico City. Blanca explains to Julieta that she just cannot allow Dani to be an exhibitionist with her marriage. She has to try to talk some sense to her. Julieta tries to dissuade her saying that Dani cannot be forced to do anything. Blanca needs Julieta's vehicle to be able to do what she must do which is drive to Mexico City. Blanca begs Julieta to come along. Julieta is not about to let Blanca alone driving her car on the highway.  Blanca suggests that it can be a mother-in-law/daughter-in-law road trip! As they are discussing  all of this, Blanca is already out of the city.

At Pancho's request, Temo has come out to the twins. Lupita has  no problems with it. Julio does not like this new information at all. Temo is not normal. Pancho tries to explain that Temo is still his brother and family members support each other unconditionally but Julio is not buying it. Julio has an additional concern.  When people find out about Temo, they will make them all feel bad.

Back at Blanca's Audifaz, Imelda and Tulio get into it  about religion.  Imelda says they were always Catholic. Audifaz looks for solutions in the Holy Word not in alcohol like Tulio. Tulio tells him to quit playing the saint.  Where did Blanca go? Linda says she went to dance class.

Susana is at work seeing Pancho everywhere when she gets a phone call from Julieta requesting a vacation day. There is an emergency that is making her leave Oaxaca.  Susana says as a vice-president she can organize her her time as she wishes.

Blanca is all excited and nervous but also happy that she and Julieta will have the opportunity to spend some time together.  Julieta calls the trip "crazy." As they drive on, Julieta suggests that it might be better if she were to drive since they are on the highway and it can be dangerous.  Blanca takes the request as a personal criticism.  Julieta asks Blanca to just pull over.  Blanca says she is making her nervous.  Robert is still talking with Tavo about the foundation when he gets a call from Julieta.  She informs him that she and Blanca  are on their way to Mexico City.  Robert guesses it is about Dani.  He wants Julieta to get Banca to turn around and come back.  Julieta will not leave Blanca alone but Blanca basically kidnapped her.  Anyway, maybe it will do her good to get away from the Fernando situation. Robert asks Blanca what she is thinking going to track down Dani. She  explains that she is not thinking; she is feeling because her daughter could be in danger. Julieta thinks of Dave running into Fernando's arms. Julieta tells him to take care of Dave and  Blanquita.

There is a  new competition at "Reality de Amor".  Which man can get the farthest on a slip and slide on his belly like a worm.  The women can help their men. Dani and Gabriel do not win this challenge.  Clarisa is watching with Axel. Axel finally admits to her that things are not going well between them. He just wants to be alone. He thinks back to kissing Linda.

Gabriel has come to a decision and tells Dani that he has found his vocation. He wants to become an event planner.  For a wedding,  he could take the client from choosing the dress to the reception. Dani thinks it is a wonderful idea and has never seen him excited like this before. .Just think how both of their careers are opposite to the gender roles that society would expect.

Julieta is now driving and she and and Blanca get into a serious discussion. Julieta says that she and Robert think very differently about things and that the Fernando issue has proven this even more.  She feels like her marriage is at risk.  Blanca says no, she and Robert are one of the loveliest couples she knows.  She goes on to tell her that all couples have differences.  For Blanca marriage is like a trip on a highway.  There are lots of detours but as long as  you have the same destination and follow the signs, there is no way to get lost.  Julieta says on so many issues she  wants one road and Robert  another.  She did not think Dave should have met his bio-dad.  Now she is in a panic because Dave and Fernando are forming a connection.  Blanca understands how she feels when she says she is worried that she and Robert are not enough for Dave. Blanca has been through the same thing. One day you are everything to your children and then suddenly they want nothing to do everything alone just like Dani.  Suddenly, Julieta has a blow out and they are stuck with a flat tire on the side of the road. Julieta tells Blanca she does love her a lot even though they have their moments.  Blanca calls her "daughter".   Life made them family and they are on the same road.  They hug and Blanca tells her that she loves her a lot, too.

Robert calls Fernando to come talk at the hospital.  Robert understands his desire to connect with Dave so he can come over for dinner.  Fernando thanks Robert. This will be his first meal with his son. They shake on it. Robert tries to call Julieta but she is out of cellphone reception range.

Back on the highway, Blanca tries to wave down passing vehicles to help change the tire.  Blanca is so upset that nobody will stop for her. This is just what she needed!  Julieta says all women can do is stick together and help each other.  Julieta decides she will change the tire. She has a surprise: the jack is missing.  Julieta wants to call for a tow truck.  Blanca watches the reality show on her phone. She sees Dani laid out on her back with Gabriel hovering over her. They are calling an ambulance. What is happening to her daughter?? It turns out that  Dani punctured a lung. Julieta tells Blanca it will take a while for a ow truck.  Daniela will be fine.   Julieta starts walking to the service station and tells Blanca to just STAY PUT until she gets back. After Julieta leaves,  a woman in a SUV stops.  Blanca tells her how she just has to get to Mexico City because her daughter could be dying. The woman will be more than happy to help her. She gets her purse and leaves with the woman in the SUV.  Soon, another older woman similarly dressed to Blanca appears at the road side seemingly waiting to be picked up. .

Imelda and Lázaro pass by Crisanta's shop.  Crisanta takes this as an opportunity to inform Imelda that when Imelda declared Canuto dead, she annulled her own marriage.  She will end up with the apartment building yet . She is Canuto's only wife.

Julieta keeps walking down the highway but is having no luck getting any cellphone reception.  She suddenly sees Blanca hanging out of the window of a SUV yelling she loves her and waving at her as the SUV passes her by.

A lot of fun in this episode. I loved Julieta and Blanca out on the road together. I always enjoy Julieta and mamá suegra when they are together.

Susana should have encouraged bratty Sebas to go spend some time in Africa with his father. For once the kid had a good idea.

So, it looks like Robert is basically donating his time to the foundation. Does he make any money beyond what he receives from the foundation or is Julieta supporting them both? I thought it was interesting in a recent episode when they were talking about selling the car and how a portion of the the money they would make from the sale would go to the foundation. If they have so many bills of their own, why would they be donating money to the foundation? I probably am thinking way too hard and need to retrieve my beanie.

Audifaz’s anouncemnet that he has converted to being a Christian and the family’s shock with Imelda saying the family has always been Catholic were confusing to me as a non speaker of Spanish. But then I realized that Audifaz was simply saying that he had become an evangelical Christian (or what US Catholics would describe as a Protestant). But surely Evangelical Christians and Catholics are christian.
I guess the emphasis on only the Bible for Audifaz is the sticking point. But if Temo’s being ‘gay’ becomes known to the Corsegas, both the conservative Catholics and Christian Evangelicals (Audi), Temo will be criticized by both.

Great recap. Not sure if Dani is really injured.

The financial troubles of Robert’s foundation do not bode well for him. Julieta is stressed out because of Dave and Robert’s unilateral decisions concerning Dave’s biological dad. Every character at this point is facing an existential crisis. They ALL need to be in therapy!

Thanks Jarifa. I just can't imagine you watching this in a cold apartment, and typing away, perhaps with fingerless gloves on! Do hope the furnace gets installed quickly and successfully and that there are no more power outages.

Road Trip! Great title and definitely the best part of the episode. And agree with Anon's explanation of the "Christian" vs "Catholic" names. It's Evangelical Christianity vs the traditional Catholic Church. But both religions are Christian in the sense that they believe in the divinity of Jesus.

Good grief, it takes a lot to puncture a lung. What was Dani doing?

Hope that everybody has a good day. We have a dusting of snow on the ground like powdered sugar but it is very very cold. Winter snuk in early 'round these here parts. And even more so where some of the rest of you are.

Diana, glad you got back safely!

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa! I love "girls' dormitory".

Robert and Julieta must not be very good managers of their money. Lending Hugo money to re-start his business while they were a couple months behind on their own mortgage payment was a really big clue. The rest is just supporting evidence.

I am soooo confused over this "Christian" thing, too. Dave is going to make his first holy communion, they all appear to be Catholic, which is a Christian denomination. My English conversation student has gone home to Mexico to visit family, so I cannot ask her about the distinction. The anonymous poster probably has guessed it correctly.

JudyB - I agree, what could have punctured Dani's lung. That IS a big deal. Gah!

Cold snap here again, too. It was in the high 20s this a.m. when I took the dog out, add in the wind chill factor, and tonight it is going down to 20ºF. This is one of the coldest Novembers I can remember in . . . years, maybe decades.

Sending Sebas to Africa is a great idea.

Why on earth would Julieta leave Blanca alone on the roadside? Whatever happened to Blanca after Julieta left her to get help really worries me. Don't they know how dangerous it is in Mexico? Yikes.

I look forward to watching this over lunch today!

Jarifa, I posted a late comment on your previous recap which was great.

And now, yet exceptional recap. Savored every single word.

"Susana should have encouraged bratty Sebas to go spend some time in Africa with his father. For once the kid had a good idea". Yes, and watch out for the lions. I was Sebas' biggest supporter initially but he needs to learn to respect his mother. She needs to be firmer with him and kick that ungrateful ingrate Axel out.

I also enjoy the Blanca/Julieta chemistry. They have come so far, haven't they? Blanca rather shrewdly detoured their plans and Julieta graciously didn't protest much. I had to smile at Blanca abandoning Julieta (and the broken down car) feeling rushing to Dani's aid was her priority.

Robert is still so passionate about the foundation. And I can't think of a more worthy cause. I don't think everyone realizes the sacrifices he and Julieta have made. I always had the impression he wasn't being paid for the foundation work and was simply donating his time, not money. Wrong again I see. I also thought his physician salary combined with Julieta's would keep them afloat but guess not. doris, lending Hugo money was indeed a bad idea.

"Imelda and Lázaro pass by Crisanta's shop. Crisanta takes this as an opportunity to inform Imelda that when Imelda declared Canuto dead, she annulled her own marriage". Huh? Head scratch. Marriages aren't annulled when one person died. What am I missing?

Interesting comments on Christianity and Catholicism. At first, I bristled a bit when Audi said he was converting. Aren't they the same thing? After thinking about it, I don't feel they are. When someone asks me what I am I always say Catholic. I consider myself a Christian, as "both religions are Christian in the sense that they believe in the divinity of Jesus" as our dear scholar Judy noted.

Jarifa, I hope you have heat and are comfortable? Thank you for another excellent outing. You are the best!

Diana

Thanks, Jarifa! Recap and title are E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T! I do hope your furnace is gets installed ASAP! Stay warm, amiga.

Count me in as agreeing with Anon's explanation of the "Christian" vs "Catholic" names.

Doris, I worry too about Blanca getting into that SUV with a stranger..and did anyone catch that really fast scene of that woman dressed as Blanca (right after Blanca got into the SUV)? That was really confusing to me.

Diana, when someone asks about my religion, I too say "Catholic". Yet while I know that all Catholics are Christians, I never respond that I am a Christian because that is very general and could indicate any of the other denominations. I think someone has already mentioned that "All Catholics are Christians, but not all Christians are Catholic."

Anon, those were interesting comments about the Evangelical Christians and Catholics. Even though they are both branches of Christianity, they are very different. I can understand the reaction from the Catholics.

JudyB, I can hear the workers removing the old furnace in the basement two stories down. Sure am glad I do not live on the first floor. I have a couple little portable heaters plugged in to keep me cozy until the new one is up and running. I hope they do give us more info on what Daniela was doing exactly to get a puncture lung. It all seems a little odd but so is the novela. 🙂

doris, I was thinking that same thing about how dangerous it would be to be alone out on a highway in Mexico and in most places for Blanca and for Julieta. It was another beanie moment, I guess. As for the money, if Robert cannot support his family better, maybe establishing the foundation should have been left to when they were more secure financially. IMHO. Lending Hugo money twice was truly a bad decision.

Diana, when I saw Blanca hanginng out of the window of the SUV screaming at Julieta it made me think of the old Lucy shows. I cannot wait to see if Blanca gets to the show location and what she does once she gets there. It was great having two comedy plots going on with all of the Fernando drama.

RgvChick, all i can say is I am sure they didn't show us that woman dressed like Blanca for nothing. I love when they make characters travel around and get them out of their usual locations.

For me, I have always thought of "Christianity" as Catholicism and everything else (Protestantism with its individual sects). It is interesting seeing the characters reactions when (after a little research) it seems about 82% of Mexicans are Catholic and Evangelical Christianity is on the rise. So, maybe Audifaz's situation would not be that far out of the norm and might be a real issue that people are dealing with.

Watched this over lunch.

Then, I googled "punctured lung" and found lots of hits that say it is a/k/a pneumothorax . . . a collapsed lung.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pneumothorax/symptoms-causes/syc-20350367
I guess this explains the lack of blood, because there was no blood at the scene.

The woman who appeared just as Blanca was being driven off by the passerby was interesting. Shawl, hair, and skirt length were all very similar (identical), but it ends there. Mystery woman was wearing glasses and the dress was different. It will be interesting to see what she is all about. Must see TV!

I think it is unusual for Evangelical Christians to exist in a telenovela. I think they may have referred to them in La Viuda de Blanco, where Haydee (I think) was going out at night & lied to her mama that she was going to an Evangelical church which had long "all night" meetings. (Someone wud prob say "holy roller" meetings in derogation). But when the mama (or whoever) questioned the pastor (or whatever) of the church, he denied such meetings, like "How could we hold jobs & live life if we had all night meetings" -- part of the preliminary comedy of the story.

When I ran a private Christian school (just me & non-denominational), I got a lot of Roman Catholic students who seemed to distinguish being Christian from being Catholic!
Someone posted "For me, I have always thought of "Christianity" as Catholicism and everything else (Protestantism with its individual sects)." And at one point the local Roman Catholic church paid the tuition to me for a Roman Catholic student to attend my school!

We live in different intellectual worlds. For me there is no equation of Protestantism (movement that came out of the pope's organization starting with Luther) with all non-Roman Catholics who call selves Christians. My POV is that of John Carroll's Trail of Blood (on line) & The Light in Dark Ages by V. Raymond Edman (president of Wheaton College) that there have always been those who trusted the Lord Jesus as their Savior & as a consequence were baptized by the HOly Spirit (not water) into the Body of Christ (the one & only Church, not a denomination), but THE CHURCH includes all such believers (whether in the pope's organization or not). And my POV is that there have always since ~AD 33 been believers who rejected the pope's organization & been often persecuted; a tradition of what now would be called Evangelicals, who never came out of the pope's organization, as distinct from the Protestant tradition which did. (An example would be the European "anabaptists".)

My POV: While Evangelicals in general agree on believing the Fundamentals of the Faith (basics), they disagree on a lot of matters. And they consider the mass of Christendom with all its denominations/sects as in fact generally non-Christian, professors who were never born again, dead church members, not part of the Body of Christ (real Church). On the other hand they consider all true believers in all denominations as part of the real Church. Moreover, some denomination may have a majority to real believers in them. Also it is inevitable that among Evangelicals there are also persons who were never born again & thus not in the real Church.

I say all this in hopes of clarifying this POV. I'll bet most of you did not know that this POV existed.

Thanks doris and Enoch for the additional information.

Jarifa, thank you for this recap and for all the recapping and commenting that you do.

I worry about that woman who looked like Blanca. I agree there must be a reason behind her appearance. Perhaps the woman in the SUV who picked up Blanca thought she was picking up someone else.

Interesting discussion about the use of the word "Christian". The earliest Christians (like in 'feed them to the lions') were simply Christians, probably a lot of them thought of themselves as Jews or others but following the teachings of Jesus. But today I hear a lot of Evangelicals call themselves Christian and largely reserve the word for those who read and follow the Bible without any intermediate interpretation by a Church (Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, whatever).

All the same to me. I was raised Catholic but used to attend an Evangelical church with someone and enjoyed the warmth and the fellowship afterwards (as in food) :-)

Either church, it mostly came in one ear and went out the other without pausing long.

Jarifa, you did it again, I loved your recap and I loved your title! Thanks for hanging in there over the holidays. I was gone most of last week and just came home last night in time to see last night’s episode. I forgot to watch on Friday, so I need to catch up with what happened. When you are on vacation (I was at my daughter’s for Thanksgiving) you just forget the routine. But I did recap last Tuesday and watched Wednesday. My son in law even noticed the song they always play when they have a romantic part between Susana and Pancho and he found the song for me online and played it.

Enoch, as I am also an Evangelical Christian involved in teaching Christian apologetics, you hit the nail right on the head in your description. The word “Christian” has been used very loosely I think with a lot of different groups and people have a lot of differing worldviews regarding what Christianity really is. Some people think it’s just all about being a nice person and loving your neighbor. Yes it does involve that, but here is so much more and one has to read church history in order to understand. Because there has been so much dissention between the Catholic Church and Protestantism, many Catholics will call themselves simply “Catholic” and save the term “Christian” for a Protestant. I do not even know if there is a Spanish word that describes what is known as a Protestant Christian. So much of the dissention comes straight from the time of Martin Luther and his “95 Thesis” nailed to the Wittenburg Gate, followed by John Calvin. So much of the discussion today seems to be about answers to 16th century questions related to the 21st Century. But what (former) Anglican Bishop of Durham N.T. Wright says, we need 21st century answers to 1st century questions. What is funny is you never hear of fights between the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church. There used to be because the church split in 1054 A.D. into two churches because the Eastern Church did not agree with having a Pope. So the Roman Catholic Church took it’s focus off the Eastern Orthodox Church and concentrated on battling the Reformation begun by Luther and later by Calvin.

My family was Catholic when I was a little girl, (before the change to JW) so I attended Catechism. I remember a book with pictures of a Catholic baby and a Protestant baby. The Catholic baby was shown as sparkling in the light, while the Protestant baby was shown as sad and in the dark because it wasn’t baptized as a Roman Catholic. So I can see how shocked the family would be to see Audifáz join a Protestant Evangelical group and leave the Catholic Church. And whether Evangelical Christian or Roman Catholicism, both reject homosexuality in practice. So I do not know where this is going and if it will portray “Christians” as the “problem” who will mistreat homosexuals.

Oh I forgot to talk about Blanca, she got into a car with someone she doesn't know! Is she headed for trouble????

Cynthia - I know, right? She should know better. I wouldn't even do that here in the U.S.! But then, Blanca is a bit naive. The lady seemed nice enough, so I am keeping my fingers crossed and wearing my telenovela beanie hat. The whole thing is probably a red herring.

Doris, and Blanca is leaving Julieta all by herself too! I guess they don't have AAA out there.

OT: Speaking of AAA, I was driving back home from Sacramento yesterday. I stopped at a gas station in Bakersfield and when I put my card in the pump, it said, "See Cashier". So I went to grab my purse and I shut the door not realizing I had it on "lock". Guess what? My keys were still in the car and so was my phone! At least I had my purse with my wallet. But the man in the next pump saw how exasperated I looked and said, "Is there something wrong?" So I told him that I just realized I locked my keys AND my phone in the car. He was so nice, he offered me the use of his phone so I could call AAA. He stayed with me until they arrived because he wanted to make sure I would be okay and on my way safely. I haven't locked my keys in my car since 1979! That long! But thank God for AAA and that nice man who helped me.

Cynthia, AAA is a lifesaver. So good to hear that you encountered a kind person who could help you out. I have locked my keys in the car more than once. It is such a sinking feeling when you do it.

I can relate but fortunately I drive Honda's now and you can't lock your keys in the car. A lifesaver for distracted me. And there's a little link on the gas tank cap so I can't drive off without closing it and losing it either. Those cars are made for women (and men) with too much on their minds.

oT....Judyb....somehow I feel that hub is constantly sending me messages . In this case, you seem to be his messenger. I am thinking about replacing my Impala with a car better suited to our bad weather ahead after I sell Hub's Tahoe. I am considering a Subaru or Honda. Both my younger daughter and a friend !like their Hondas. Would you recommend the Honda for me...who does not like to drive? Hub did all the driving.

Thanks, Jarifa. Great getting caught up through your fab recap. A Blanca look-alike? Can't wait to see where that's going.

I cannot wait to see what happens tonight, Niecie.

Cynthia: interesting comments. I am also interested in apologetics (I think my approach is a lot like Van Til & E J Carnell), though I never held a job teaching a course with that name. Sounds like you had an interesting transition from Roman Catholic to JW to Evangelical. Times have changed drastically.
When I was a teenager in a Main Line Protestant denomination, I had a Roman Catholic girlfriend. She asked me to visit her church with her, & I agreed on condition that she also visit mine. This happened. But after she did that, she went to confession & the priest told her she would have gone straight to hell for having visited a protestant church, if she had not got to confession before dying. Time would come when protestants would be considered separated brethren.

OT:Enoch, that's really great you are interested in Apologetics. I take as many courses at Biola University as I can. One of these days I'm going to really work on an M.A. in this discipline. Wow, that's really something about that girlfriend you had. Contact me privately as I am sure we can have some very good conversations.

Hey Susanlynn. Yes, I love Hondas. They're totally reliable and cost a bit less than the Subarus. My CRV does great in bad weather and has plenty of room for grandchildren. I kept my previous Honda for 20 years (stick shift) and would have kept it longer but temporarily had a disc problem in my back that made pressing the clutch painful. Anyway, yep, can recommend Hondas wholeheartedly.
