Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 61, Tuesday December 4, 2018; Pancho and Susana Declare their love for one another

After the judge gives his judgement in Fernando’s favor, Fernando goes to him and promises that everything will be just fine. Then Julieta goes to embrace David, crying. “I don’t want you to leave.” Robert has tears in his eyes.

Susana and Pancho are having a good time at the Guelaguetza festival. Susana looks very happy and has red carnations in her hair. They dance and have fun watching the parade through town. It’s almost a Mardi Gras type of celebration with all the colors and dancing. Susana says that Pancho takes her out of her comfort zone and she enjoys herself. They enter into a gift shop to get gifts for their families. She asks Pancho how things are going with his kids, especially Temo. She relays how she thinks Axel will move out and that one day Sebas will become a teenager and never speak to her again. They decide on some gifts for the family. Pancho buys a heart shaped pendant for Susana, so she can keep him near her heart.

The feud continues between Crisanta and Imelda and their dress shops. Imelda tells Tulio she is angry because she thinks that Crisanta is going to talk Susana into taking one of their apartments. She asks him how it is going at Alcoholics Anonymous. Tulio says that it is going well, he hasn’t had a drink since he started and it’s “one day at a time.” Imelda says she is very proud of him.

At the Cooper home, Robert goes to start dinner. Julieta asks David how he is feeling about everything. Dave says if it were his decision, he would have all of them live together. He says he will be sure and visit though. Blanca offers to set the table and tries to comfort Julieta. Looking at Robert, Julieta says, “If it weren’t for Fernando finding out about David, our family wouldn’t be falling apart.”

Julieta goes to David’s room where she helps David to bed for a little nap before dinner. She asks him again if he wants to live with Fernando. He answers that he does, but he does not want her to be hurt by it. Robert thinks of all the good times with David as he prepares the meal in the kitchen. Julieta gets David’s suitcase ready packing his things for the next day. She says she is really going to miss him.

At the Reality of Love, the couples are told that they have to decide whether they want to stay together to separate. Gabe tearfully tells Dani that he wants to stay together. Dani wants to stay together and says she wants to spend all her day in the future with him. She asks his forgiveness for the things that happened in the past. And now she has discovered all the reasons she fell in love with him. Before they go their separate ways to their respective cabins, she tells Gabe she loves him.

At the festival, Pancho tells Susana she can’t go back to the office, they still have to go mescal tasting. He tells her that life hasn’t been easy, as he has lost his previous wives (to death) and for a long time, didn’t want to feel anything. But with Susana, it all changed. He tells her she is a wonderful and intelligent woman. He then declares his love for her and Pancho gently caresses Susana’s face, then lovingly kisses her. Then they gaze at one another…holding each other’s hands.

Back at the Cooper home, Robert wants Julieta to talk to him and to tell him what she is feeling. She looks at him and says, “I feel like I am dying. I want to lock myself in this house with my son and not let him go. And not Fernando or you can stop me. And you know what? This is all your fault. I begged you to not let Fernando and David meet. And right now, I do not have any desire to see you, or talk to you, or listen to you. Because of YOU, we are losing what we have loved so much!” She stares at him with nothing but pain and hurt in her eyes and walks out of the kitchen, while Robert stands there looking very defeated as well. She goes into David’s room to lay there with him a minute. Then she thinks of something. She gets up and tells Robert she is leaving the house because she is going to resolve something and she walks out. She tells him to please watch the children, as she shuts the door.

At the school where the children are rehearsing, Vicente shows up to applaud Sebas and his singing. Iker gets up and asks Vicente not to interrupt their rehearsal because it stops the flow of all the actors. He tells Vicente he will have to wait outside. Then Vicente apologizes and tells Sebas he will see him later.

After Susana and Pancho finish kissing, they both walk together and Susana tells him she hasn’t felt this way since she was a teenager, as she has butterflies in her stomach. Pancho admits he feels the same way. Then suddenly, Susana becomes serious and Pancho asks what she is thinking about. Susana explains that things are not going to be easy for them because of their children. Pancho promises it will make their love interesting.

At the Córsega home, Blanca is setting the table with Linda and she explains how a mother never gets over losing her child. “Every day you wake up with the hope that you child will come back to your arms.” She tells Linda she is afraid that this will be very destructive to Julieta and Robert’s marriage.”

There are scenes at the festival showing agave plants being harvested to make mescál. Pancho wants to take Susana mescál tasting. She remembers that night when she got drunk and he rescued her. They get some glasses of mescál and toast to their children, their health, and themselves. They both acknowledge that there are going to be obstacles regarding their families. Susana says that the most important thing is how their children might react and it may turn out to be very complicated. Pancho says that they can take it little by little until the families acclimate to the idea. But, they will both have to take a stand and fight for their relationship and their love. They decide to keep their relationship secret from their children until the right time.

Fernando is cleaning up his apartment, when there is a knock on the door. It’s Julieta and he invites her inside. Julieta is a woman on a mission. She is there to beg that he not take David from her. She tells him that David and Blanquita are her reasons for living. He tells her that David is his reason for living and he cannot give him up. She drops to her knees to beg. But he helps her up and asks her to respect the judge’s decision. He tells her that he will be by early in the morning to pick up David.

In Mexico City at the Reality of Love, both share with their roommates how much they miss the other
Audifáz entreats his mother Imelda to get Pancho out of the building. This will defend the family honor since Pancho’s family is not a good influence. “Do it for me and do it for your grandson.” Imelda pensively looks at him, thinking about it.

Robert finishes with cooking dinner and remembers how he had to give up his wedding ring to those thieves. He recalls how Julieta said that it was bad luck. Then he hears Julieta coming back and ask her where she has been. She admits she went to see Fernando to beg to have David back. But Fernando wouldn’t budge. Then David wakes up, he comes downstairs crying because he wet himself. Julieta tells him that it’s okay and they he can just change his clothes. He feels like a baby doing this and not the big boy he is supposed to be.  Robert tells him not to worry, he’s just nervous over what happened at the court hearing. The three of them hug.

Pancho and Susana enter the stadium to watch the show. Then her phone rings and it’s Vicente who wants to have dinner together with their sons. She says “Very well, we will talk later,” but doesn’t really want to. She tries to explain to Pancho, but he’s okay with it because he is her “ex”. Pancho greets a couple of people there, must have been someone famous because Susana said, “Do you know who you just talked to?” Pancho, joking as he normally does, “Sure I do. They are going to be the “Padrinos” (Best man, matron of honor) at our wedding.” [I did not know who they were, did any of you recognize them? Must have been a celebrity guest appearance. Was this the President of Mexico and his wife? Peña Nieto and Angelica Rivera maybe?] They sit down to relax and watch the show and the beautiful dancing.

Fernando gets things ready in David’s new room for the next day for David’s arrival.

Julieta playfully dries David’s hair with the towel. He looks at her and says, “Why do you cry? I’m not moving to another country.” She explains that she is going to miss his baths and drying his hair afterward. Then she playfully towel dries his hair again.

Julieta asks if will miss them. She then asks how is it that he is so strong. David says he learned it from them and that his father Robert taught him to be brave.. Robert comes in and says he has made all of David’s favorite food. The three of them do their finger “iman”, then embrace lovingly in their last evening together.

"The three of them do their finger “iman”, then embrace lovingly in their last evening together" has my eyes misty Cynthia. Beatufifully stated.

Excellent recap of a very heart breaking episode. Personally, neither the sweet murmurings of Pancho and Susana nor the fun festivities, could break through the dark shroud of Julieta's and Robert's despair.

"Susana looks very happy and has red carnations in her hair". Honestly? I was trying to figure out what those flowers are. I've never seen carnations that lovely in my life. I've always asked any flowers I've sent have no carnations. Perhaps I need to rethink that.

“She relays how she thinks Axel will move out and that one day Sebas will become a teenager and never speak to her again”. One can only hope!

“Before they go their separate ways to their respective cabins, she tells Gabe she loves him”. But this? Pure happiness.

“Pancho promises it will make their love interesting”. Well that’s one way to phrase it. Good luck getting Susana’s snotty sons to begin to even give you a chance.

Julieta's grief is clouding her judgement and her heart. Seeing the fierce love she had for Robert disintigrate is crushing. Getting on her knees to beg Fernando seemed to indicate she may indeed not be able to move past this. I hope that whatever separates David from Fernando comes quickly. This is pure speculation only but as I've mentioned before, I am positive Dave's destiny. I can count the number of "lead" couples who've been together through thick and thin on one hand, love never waivering. I don't want to see any more pain here. They've been through enough.

Speaking of enough. I've had enough of Vincente, his eyes devoid of emotion, a man who treats his ex like dirt and encourages their children to do the same.

Was it my imagination or did we hear a bit of beautiful singing from Sebas?

I'm ignoring Audi. Imelda, you've made enough bad decisions. Don't entertain Audi's plea to get rid of Pancho and his family. We are barely tolerating you now.

Cynthia, I have no idea who the "celebs" were...I do not think it was Angelica's husband (I think he has much darker hair and is younger than the man we saw).

Terrific Cynthia. Thank you.

Diana

I meant to say "I am positive Dave's destiny lies with Julieta and Robert".

Buenos Dias!

I see Pancho & Susana declare their love for each other.

Outstanding recap and wonderful screen shots. You sure know how to pick them! 🙂 I had no idea of who the “celebrities” were at the festival. It must have been fun at the festival for the public who were fans of these actors.

As for the festival, I was happy that they gave so much time to it. I kept on wondering how Susana could keep changing her dresses but soI had to go to “beanie” territory. When they showed so much about mezcal production, I felt like I was a kid watching geography slides back in school.

Anyway, Susana and Pancho at the festival was the best.

Yes, Diana, Sebas had that beautiful voice. I hope we get to see a scene or two of “Oliver Twist” when they put it on. “Susana’s snotty sons” yes!!!!! That is exactly who they are and every time she tries to cajole them I want to scream: STOP!

Julieta and Robert and Dave. Not much to say. It struck me as particularly poignant that at the end of the episode with Julieta, Dave said that she and Robert had taught him to make others happy and he wanted to make Fernando happy. I don’t know if that statement made it better or worse.

Perfect screen shot Cynthia. Thank you! Sounds like another heart-wrenching episode. Well I'm echoing Diana's words, and I also liked this:
Personally, neither the sweet murmurings of Pancho and Susana nor the fun festivities, could break through the dark shroud of Julieta's and Robert's despair.

Too true, Diana. Certainly hope the custody story gets resolved quickly but I doubt that it will be so.

Although I'm happy there's a successful romance going between Pancho and Susana, I have to admit the actor's wig and braying laugh in this role pretty much kill the mood for me. However, in his role as Pancho, he always gets paired with lovely women so it must be working for most of the audience.

Thanks again Cynthia. Lovely to find these recaps first thing in the morning and to join up with the patio.

Thank you Cynthia for the prompt and detailed recap of this sad episode.

I hope I am wrong, but I have always felt that Roberto and Julieta were in for major problems in their relationship. Will they go their separate ways? Blanca's observation that the custodial loss of David could impact their relationship in a negative way seems prescient.

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia!

I felt like a ping-pong ball, getting hit back and forth between Julieta/Rob/Dave drama and Pancho/Susana happiness.

Note to Susana: Pancho's first two wives have died. Either the third time will be the charm, or you might want to up your life insurance policy. Just sayin'.

"She relays how she thinks Axel will move out and that one day Sebas will become a teenager and never speak to her again."
We can only hope!

The "finger iman" was really touching.

"Personally, neither the sweet murmurings of Pancho and Susana nor the fun festivities, could break through the dark shroud of Julieta's and Robert's despair."
Well said, Diana.

How is it everyone is wearing summer clothes, including the host of Reality de Amor, but the RdA contestants are all wearing heavy sweaters???

Thank you, Cynthia, for the recap and screencaps.

Judyb, I cannot see the elegant Susana with goofy Pancho after seeing her paired with the handsome and equally elegant Fernando Colunga. . Is Pancho wearing a,wig? Susana Gonzalos looks very much like the lead actress in Outlander...Caitronia Balfe. Both gorgeous women.

"Dave said that she and Robert had taught him to make others happy and he wanted to make Fernando happy". Oh dear. "I don’t know if that statement made it better or worse". I don't know either Jarifa...

I have to say that Fernando bustling about his tiny apartment, adjusting the pictures and turning on that fun strobe light was very touching. You could tell he really thought about it and wanted to make Dave feel comfortable. And wanted. I fear though that (right or wrong), Dave's time with Julieta, Robert and his extended family is going to be light years away from the reality of living solely and simply with his father.

Ahhh Pancho. Judy, I had to smile at your comments. Yes, the wig is a "mood killer" for me as well. I have to admit though that the chemistry does work somehow. I have to credit to Susana who I believe could breate life into a paper bag, right susanlynn? :)

"Note to Susana: Pancho's first two wives have died. Either the third time will be the charm, or you might want to up your life insurance policy. Just sayin'". OMG doris. too, too funny!

What a fun patio. Missing our Kirby though...

One thing that required the telenovela beanie hat, last night, was how nice Dave's new bedroom is at Fernando's. The guy just got out of jail, right? Who has that kind of money to spend on a nice place to live, nice furnishings, etc. Most people just out of jail can barely get a job, once their record is discovered, and even then, it would take a lot of work on the part of an employer to go thru the channels to verify Fer was not really guilty or supposed to be in jail. Oy, I think too much. LOL

Diana - my hubby had a now-deceased uncle who had been married & divorced something like four or five times. (and he truly was a doppelgänger of actor Paul Newman!) Anyway, he met a woman he wanted to marry and he told her that she was taking a big chance on him, having had a trail of ex-wives. She told him that HE was the one who needed to worry. She had been married *AND* widowed all three times! Ironically, that is the marriage that "took" for him and they stayed married some 20+ years, until he passed away of old age.

Love that story doris!

Proof positive that you just never know...love and fate are fickle and unpredictable. There really is someone for everyone! Provided you want to look of course :)

Thanks for sharing.

Diana

Julieta's ridiculous. She's been needing a shrink for a long time now. Why should something happen to separate Dave from Fernando, and hand him over to Julieta again? Happy endings don't always exist in real life. She needs to learn to accept things as they are. What if Dave's happiness IS with Fernando? Though I get the feeling too that the writers are going to send Dave packing back to nutjob Juls.

Thanks everyone for your great comments!

I’ve known people who have taken in foster children that they wanted to adopt. It’s a very long process. But if the bio parent shows up to court just once, it messes the whole thing up. The biggest problem is the emotional toll on the children and the prospective adoptive parents. They get very, very, attached because they just fall in love with the children and love them as much as if they were their own biological children. Yes, there are those who love that much. That’s why Julieta is having such a hard time with this.

The court just “assumed” that David would be better off with his bio father and giving Fernando all his paternal rights without even as much as an investigation.

Do you remember last season when a social worker came to Julieta and Robert’s apartment to check them out? Did Fernando get checked out? I don’t think so. Doris brings up some very good points about people getting out of jail having difficulty getting a job. Where did he get the money for a decent apartment and furnishings so quickly? It would have been much better for the court to do a slow transition, with David spending weekends with Fernando at first and then spending more and more days in the week so that Fernando can acclimate to being a father. Since Fernando had no experience with fatherhood it is going to be a lot to expect from him.

I am loving the love story with Pancho and Susana. As you can see, every time it’s my turn to recap, I put up a romantic screenshot of them. I think Pancho is so different from Vicente that his presence in her life has changed a stiff and angry woman into a soft and warm lady. His humor relaxed demeanor has changed her for the better. I think Pancho brings out the best in Susana and makes her feel very comforted as well as comfortable.

"I think Pancho is so different from Vicente that his presence in her life has changed a stiff and angry woman into a soft and warm lady."
Yes, Cynthia, you are spot on. The old Susana never would have taken the day off from work to go to a festival, either. Sometimes people can change, if they are willing.

Thank you, Cynthia.

I have always thought that the pairing of Susana and Pancho was unlikely. They are just too different and I often feel that, nice as Pancho is, he could drive many people crazy. But it seems to be working and stranger things have happened. But I had no idea that he was wearing a wig. I admit I have never looked closely but it just never occurred to me. But if he needs a wig then probably better to wear it. I can't imagine his brash character as a balding man pursuing the lovely Susana. Though why not?

Cynthia, I think you are spot on with your comment about Pancho bringing out the best in Susana. Despite my initial doubts about them as a couple there have been some very good changes in Susana.

I was a bit distracted by something when Sebas was singing (always trying to do two things at once when I can barely manage just one), but it seemed that it was lip syncing with an enhanced musical backup. I would like to listen to him singing again.

I hope everybody is having a good day.

"Yes, there are those who love that much. That’s why Julieta is having such a hard time with this".

Second time today you've made me cry Cynthia. Happy tears. Lovely.

Diana

Diana: I didn't mean to make you cry.
