Amar a Muerte, 12/4/2018, Episode 24: It Never Happened, OK? Fer Sure??

Lucía and Leon/Chino/Jacobo (LCJ) are still in the water enjoying their looong kiss (while the goons are probably closing in, but they don’t seem to care). As they continue their passionate kisses, she takes off his shirt; she slips off her dress…next to come off is her bra (as the water starts to steam). They break apart briefly, looking into each other’s eyes, then continue their fierce display of desire. LCJ stops and looks up, as does Lucía, as a flock of birds flies above. (LCJ relieved that they weren’t giant moths).

At the company, Montilla tells Johny that they will be the first to know if they find out anything.  After Montilla and Eva leave, Johny gets a call from his political contact (PC) who tells him that Lucía and the chauffeur escaped. It is not known where they are; and the Armenta are furious and have an army out searching for them. When Johny asks if they are going to kill them, PC tells him to calm down; the important thing is that his woman escaped…or rather his wife, associate, or whatever she is to him. Lucía is alive…for now. Ya Jon, hee hee, for sure alive because a dead chick wouldn’t be doing what she is with the chofer, as we speak.

Juls arrives at the Carvajal mansion and is greeted by Silvina. Vale then hugs and thanks her for coming as Lucho and Sergio look on. When Juls comments that she thought Vale would be with her family, Vale tells her that this ass wanted to come support her. After Vale whispers that she thinks Sergio likes her, Lucho grabs her and pushes her away. Sergio tries to distract Juls with a drink or a movie and popcorn, but Juls is more interested in being with Vale who is now sitting on Lucho’s lap; so she ends up agreeing and they go off to the kitchen to make popcorn.

At the hospital, Renata tells Guille that it’s normal for Castillo to be feeling that way. She has been researching and the feeling he has is the anger and fear of what he will be facing. She thinks that in addition to the physical therapy, the man will also need psychotherapy. When Guille doubts that Castillo will agree, Renata offers to talk to the wife so she can convince him. After Guille remarks that they can look for a therapist that specializes in those types of situations, he wishes he could do whatever he can to make the man feel better. With a smile, Renata assures him that he is already doing that. How sweet Renata, but I still like the goon’s pet snake better than Guille.

At Vale’s house, Juls and Sergio are making popcorn, when Silvina comes in and tells them not to mess up her kitchen or burn her pans. As Juls shares that she isn’t going to a university, Silvina discreetly listens before she leaves. Sergio tells Juls about himself, then asks what her plans are for her future. When she tells him that they just arrived from San Antonio and that her father died, he offers her his condolences. They continue making popcorn. Meanwhile in the living room, Vale and Lucho are looking for a movie to watch. Juls and Sergio walk in with the popcorn. Lucho is a real arse when Vale tries to take the remote from him and he tells her he is giving it up only because her stepmother is kidnapped. Vale gets upset and tells him off. As she walks away, she tells the guys to make themselves at home and invites Juls to go with her.

At the company, Guille goes into Johny’s office to ask about Lucía and LCJ. When Johny tells him they know nothing yet, Guille asks what they are going to do—they have to do something. Johny agrees, but they have to wait and hope that Lucía will return soon. What? Johny, she is a homing pigeon who is late getting back?  Guille adds that he hopes LCJ will return too…since he is an employee of theirs and they should help him too. Johny then tells Guille that he has always been there for him, but he is feeling very nervous at the moment. Guille understands…they are all very nervous.

At the police station, Fabián tells Mejia that he didn’t sleep well; he thinks that time is being wasted, after Mejia tells him that he just needs patience…and he has good news; he found El Chino’s wife who is there in the city (uh-oh!). Meanwhile, Lupita is out selling lotto tickets at the park.   Pancho approaches with a rose in hand and asks her if she remembers. Lupita feigns ignorance; so Pancho reminds her that when they were in high school, he would cut flowers for her because he didn’t have the money to buy her things…and she would tell him that roses were her favorite; so he brought her one. Lupita thinks that life was nice back then.   Well, one thing was different, you didn’t have a husband and kids.  Just sayin….

Alacrán and Eva comlete a round of nookie (ewww!). Breathless, Eva tells him that Mateo is getting suspicious; so Alacrán tells her that they need to talk about that dummy. Eva shares that Mateo got upset when he saw the roses Alacrán sent and also when she was pressuring him not to publish anything about the Cartel de la Sierra…and last night he heard her talking on the phone. Alacrán, though, wants to talk about something else. He tries to go for a second round, but Eva puts him off and tells him they need to be more careful. When he asks if she now cares about her marriage, she nods and tells him that she loves her husband ( I want to know her definition of love). Alacrán wonders who he is to her; so she assures him that he is her lover. Alacrán thinks that if she has a lover, it’s because her marriage is not working, but Eva thinks that her marriage is working because she has a lover. She explains that people think that lovers destroy marriages, but that isn’t true—lovers save marriages.  Yes, Eva, kinda like how a garbage disposal saves a rotten apple? People who live happily do so because they have a lover.  Alacrán assures her that he will not be her toy and threatens that he can destroy her marriage whenever he feels like it. This seems to turn Eva on because she goes at him like a leopard in heat, but frustrates Alacrán when she suddenly stops and asks what he thinks will happen with Lucía. Alacrán has no idea…Armenta is very dangerous and crazy; and he doesn’t want to talk about that. He starts to get up, but Eva pulls him back roughly and starts her sexual attack.

At the Armenta mansion, El Patron ask the new goon leader if he has informed the others that he is the new lead; he has. When goon leader asks what they will do with the men who ran off, El Patrón tells him that they will send the lady a gift for having escaped.

Now clothed (in what seems to have been steam-cleaned during their tryst) and walking barefoot along a railway, Lucía tells LCJ that she thought they would never get out of the forest. LCJ welcomes her to the city; and she welcomes him to reality. They, however, still have no idea where they are. Lucía suggests they try to get a ride, but LCJ thinks it’s a bad idea and could be dangerous. Lucía clarifies that she could ask for a taxi to call for home for a car; so LCJ clarifies that he was only saying that the worst has passed…as has the best. They stop in the middle of the tracks; and facing LCJ, Lucía tells him that what happened in that place should have never happened. He asks, “Are you sure?” She responds, “Completely.” When LCJ tells her that her face says differently, she insists that she is very serious; they need to forget what happened. LCJ wonders if this is in honor of her husband’s memory..or maybe there is someone else. When Lucía says, “no,” LCJ asks her if she is sure. As he bring up Johny’s name, LCJ walks away and Lucía just gawks at him.

Johny arrives at the Carvajal home and is greeted by Frau. Johny tells him that Lucía was released (Released? Really?) and thinks they should be headed that way. Frau will advise his men so they can be prepared. After Johny thanks him for always being there, he asks Frau for his father. Frau tells him he’s coming along.

As they continue to walk, Lucía demands to know what LCJ meant by what he said. After LCJ asks if she thinks Johny would get upset if he found out what happened between them, Lucía wonders what he is insinuating, but LCJ clarifies that he is not insinuating; he is confirming. Lucía is now sure that he needs to forget what happened because they are just not understanding each other.  She gets upset and storms away as LCJ questions why it bothers her that he mentions Johny’s name. They continue to walk in silence with Lucia giving LCJ her back.

Somewhere in the city, Lupita and Pancho are having lunch. He brings out something that he hopes will get her in a better mood. When Lupita sees that it’s a picture of them as teenagers, she asks where he got it. He got it from his mother’s house. Lupita can’t believe he still has it, but then tells him they were very young and they shouldn’t hold on to the past. Pancho agrees and adds that they should take advantage of the opportunities life gives them...she came back into his life for a reason. Lupita points out that it’s too late and reminds him that they are both married, but Pancho emphasizes that they are both in bad marriages…and he has only felt love for her. Lupita gets offended and reminds him that she won’t be anyone’s lover. Pancho, however, doesn’t want her as a lover. Lupita demands that he respect her or they will no longer be friends.

Mejia shows Fabian pictures he took of Lupita. Fabián recognizes her; so Mejia tells him he found her by listening in on phone conversations of her family and friends. He overheard her telling one of them that she was selling lotto tickets in the Colonia Guerrero. Fabián wants to go look for her NOW. Mejia adds that he never heard Lupita mention El Chino, but he knows where she lives.

Karla is at work ironing the dress she wore and tells the boss it’s ready.  After she explains why it took her so long, the boss is satisfied. Viewerville all want to know what took all that moth tat blood out of what looked to be silk.  Huh? Wardrobe? OK. After he walks away, she calls Cami and makes arrangements to meet with him to discuss what happened to her.

At Barbara’s house, Barbara is with a client and doing her best to make him think she actually sees something in the crystal ball when she gets a call from Beltrino who informs her that the shaman’s body has been found. He thinks she should close her business for a few days. Barbara disagrees because she had nothing to do with it, but Beltrino reminds her that she had the kid and he might remember something. Barbara insists that she had nothing to do with it and tells Beltrino not to involve her. She hangs up.

Alicia questions Beltrino about his call. He lies and tells her he was talking to a secretary, but she keeps on interrogating him which upsets him. As they argue, the doctor comes out and tells them she will soon be with them.

Still walking along the railway, LCJ wonders if Lucía thinks that by walking fast she will forget what happened. When Lucía tells him she has no idea what he is talking about, he asks if she has forgotten what happened when they were in the water. You can unscrew a light bulb right, Luci?  Oh so sad.  Just then, Lucía spots a truck and signals them to stop. After she gets in, she quickly closes the door leaving LCJ out as he yells out to her. The truck starts rolling; so LCJ runs after it until the truck comes to a stop and Lucía opens the door for him.

Eva is at home taking a shower and trying to frantically wipe off the scorpion’s venom when Mateo joins her. They tell each other why they happen to be home…Mateo is there to pick up some of Gaston’s things to take to Teresa; and Eva is there to get ready to go to her father’s house since Lucía and the chaffeur are free now. Mateo starts kissing Eva, but she tells him to wait…she just can’t because she has too many things on her mind.  “I’m all kissed out” would be too honest, wouldn’t it?  She feels very tense and has too many problems. Mateo agrees to let her finish her bath and then drop her off at her father’s house.

In Vale’s bedroom, Juls tells Vale, who is drinking, to calm down; she doubts that Lucho meant to be mean. Vale knows, but he always seems to do the same thing. She has had two boyfriends so far, and together, they don’t make up a good one. Vale shares that life was so much better in Canada; and goes on to tell Juls about a boyfriend she had in Canada named Charles; she lost her virginity with him. When Juls asks if she loved him, Vale replies, “Not really;” they just got along well, had fun and tried just about everything since he was such a risk-taker. For Vale, living in Canada was a strange experience; she thinks they sent her there because she couldn’t get over her mother’s death…so she could have fun, which she did, but neither then nor now, has sex been what she had expected. When she asks Juls about her experiences and what she thinks, Juls confides that she has never…Vale’s jaw drops in disbelief. Vale starts laughing because she thinks it’s incredible and the best news she’s had that day. Once Vale gets serious, she tells Juls that she isn’t missing much and confides that she has never been in love…she thinks it’s something someone invented just to sell a lot of stuff on Valentine’s Day. As they laugh, Lucho enters and tells them that Lucía has been released; so Vale runs out after Lucho.

At the company, Kayla and Renata talk about Kayla’s birthday party which is a no-go since her roomie won’t allow it. Renata offers her apartment…with conditions: no alcohol and no disorder (despapaye). Kayla thanks her and asks if they can do it that same day because some guy she likes (Freddie) will be leaving the next day and she wants him to attend. As they talk, Guille comes up and tells them that “they” released Lucía and to cancel all his appointments. After he leaves, Kayla suggests that Renata invite Guille to her birthday party so they can also celebrate Lucía’s release.

At the psychiatrist’s office, the psych tells Alicia and Beltrino that they have taken the first step by being there…which indicates that they want to resolve their issues. When she tells them to hug, Beltrino questions the suggestion while Alicia hugs him. She then asks why they are there, so Beltrino replies, “Me, because she brought me.” Alicia then goes on to explain about the accident and how she saw and felt that Beltran was dead. She went to get help and when she returned, he was alive. The doctors have run numerous tests and he is fine. The psychiatrist doesn’t understand why they are there then, so Alicia explains that ever since the accident, he has not been himself. No matter how much she tries, she can’t seem to see the educated man whom she fell in love with and who would talk to her about different topics. Now he just lies and says things that don’t make sense…he is aggressive and she is afraid of him. When the psych asks Beltrino what he has to say, he apologizes beforehand because he is going to tell them the truth.

Lucía and LCJ arrive to her home in a taxi. Reporters await and yell out to her, but Frau goes to her; and she tells him to open the gate, but not let the reporters in. Johny is the first to come out; and he hugs Lucía. Mateo and Eva follow and watch as Johny prolongs his hug to Lucía.

Vale comes out and goes to LCJ and gives him a hug. Inside the house, Tiberio asks Juls why she is just standing there, since they have already arrived. Juls, of course, takes her time in going outside. As she is about to open the door to step out…Sergio comes and tells her that “it’s a family affair” and invites her for juice while everything settles down. Outside, Guille arrives and hugs Lucía. Vale notices tha Lucía is barefoot so she takes her inside the house. Vale wants her to tell them what happened, but Lucía prefers that LCJ recount what happened. LCJ, however, thinks Lucía should be the one to share what happened because she knows the details, but Lucía refuses because she just wants to go take a shower and have something to eat. All that swimming sure makes a girl horngry?  After everyone tells Lucía that they are happy to have her back, Mateo suggests that a doctor check them, especially since LCJ has some abrasions, but Johny thinks they should just let them rest…except LCJ needs to respond to some questions for the cops.

At the psychiatrist’s office, Beltrino tells them that he is not who they think he is. When the psych asks who he is, he replies that he is another man who had another life that it’s best that they not know of. Alicia is dismayed that he continues to insist on that and wonders how long he will play that game. Beltrino asks why, if she asks for the truth, she reacts that way. After they argue, the psych calms them down and explains that there may be pathological conditions that can cause changes in personalities. Betrino stops her short and tells her that is not what happened to him. He died just like Beltrán, but he was revived, but not is his body, rather in this skinny, blind body…that is why he doesn’t speak intelligently; he never went to school. He knows it’s difficult to understand; he doesn’t understand it either, but that’s the way it is.   The psych secretly tries to remember the name of that You Tube Video about abducted by aliens.

At the Carvajal’s, LCJ asks Johny if he thinks he had soemthing to do with the kidnapping. After Johny denies insinuating such a thing, Lucía makes it clear to him that, had it not been for LCJ, they would be dead. Johny pretends to be impressed and explains that it is just a matter of LCJ explaining why he opened the vehicle if it was armored and why he didn’t press the panic button. Mateo interrupts and points out that the important thing is that they have returned; everything else is trivial.

At the psychiatrist’s office, Alicia is upset; she thinks this is just too much…Beltrino is just trying to make her look like a fool; and she thinks he is being rude. When she asks him if he isn’t embarrassed to be making a fool of the psych, Belt gets upset and starts to argue. After the psych tells them to calm down, Alicia states that she can’t stand being close to him anymore; she doesn’t want to continue living with Beltrino. Psych reminds her she has a child and that she shouldn’t do something she will regret.

At the Carvajal’s, Silvina goes to help Lucia who notices that someone has been going through her drawers. When Silvina admits it was Eva who comes into the bedroom whenever she gets a chance. As Lucía gets upset, Johny comes in and asks to talk to her; so Silvina leaves. Once in the bedroom, Johny hugs Lucía.

Outside, Cami talks to LCJ. He thinks it’s odd that as a millionaire, LCJ was never kidnapped and now tha he is a chauffeur he gets kidnapped. He then asks how Lucía was throughout the ordeal,, so LCJ tells him that she was tough and surprised LCJ. Cami feels like there is something else LCJ wants to tell him

In the bedroom. Johny tells Lucía that he suffered soooo much. When he tries to kiss her, Lucía pulls back and reminds him where they are. Johny thinks they will have time later and asks if they hurt her. Lucía didn’t think she would make it out of there alive; it is a miracle she is there. After Johny swears that everything will be okay, he asks her to tell him about LCJ.

Outside, LCJ tells Cami that it was very difficult but then “it” happened…what had never happened in years of knowing Lucía. Cami wonders if LCJ realizes what implications this will have.

Lucía tells Johny that LCJ protected her. Johny points out that since LCJ appeared very strange things have been happening. Lucía doesn’t think but Johny thinks she is very gullible. When he tells her that the cops will be coming for LCJ, Lucía gets upset because LCJ had nothing to do with the kidnapping…he protected her and risked his life for her. Johny wonders why she defends LCJ and is blinded by him…he asks if something happened between her and LCJ…

Comments:
I am surprised that Chino-Beltran went to the shrink w/ his "wife." In US U wud expect her to be a marriage & family counselor; but in view of CinB's statements, U wud expect a referral of "Beltran" to a psychiatrist, one on one. I was surprised that CinB came out w/ his story of spirit migration. Shud we expect CinB to leave wife? Doesn't she need his salary? Where does the university girl live? by herself or w/ family? Will he move in with her? Strange that the wife doesn't cut him more slack having had the bad accident.

I guess the cops will interrogate Leon-in-Chino. But its early in the plot to out him as Chino. I don't know why LinC did not push the panic button in the SUV. & are we supposed to believe that an AK-47 would not penetrate the windows of the SUV.

Strange how Eva claimed she loved Mateo to Alarcon. I want to know more about Eva's mother & if Eva is really not Leon's daughter, which might cut her out of the inheritance & the acciones in the empresa.

Could anyone take a second or two to explain about where this novela expects to go in terms of bad guys/good guys. Is it suppose to be narcos after narcos trying to gain political power through the newspaper (name ?) or political party vs another political party?

Where did Carla's character development/originate.

How did Lucía and Johny first connect? Is their plan to take total control over the newspaper for some specific end?

Victoria, it is quite confusing isn’t it? Johny is trying to use the Carvajál newspaper to get Sanchez-Bueno, a crooked politician, into the presidency. There has been no mention or involvement of an opposing political party. The narcos from the Cartel de la Sierra (That Alacran is with) are involved because El Chino was involved with them and they are after him; AND because Eva is using the Carvajál business to launder money for them. The other Cartel de los Armenta became involved when Eva included an article in the newspaper about them to divert attention away from the Cartel de los Sierra. Though it is obvious that the two cartels would be against each other, that storyline hasr been not been brought up. I hope this makes some type of sense for you.

In regards to Karla, her character came in when Camilo saw her at a bus stop and noticed that she had the moth tattoo. He wanted to meet her to question her about her experience....a sort of research project to figure out how he can help Leonchi.

How did Lucia and Johny connect? We haven’t been given that explanation.

Victoria, I donno how any1 cud know where the novela is going. It has been all over the map! We donno how many moth people we will end up with (or if they will bring in some vampires to complement the moth people). If we did know, we couldn't say on pain of execution for publishing a spoiler.

Seems to me that the newspaper has been against the narcos, outing them, which is why the narcos want to whack the newspaper reporters.

Leon who is now in Chino's body, seems to be considered a good guy, tho he neglected his children. Renata wud be a good girl who is the secretary of Guillermo (son of Leon).

Eva the supposed daughter of Leon is a badie; so are the narcos, & Johny Evil Angel who wants to take over the newspaper & has controlled Lucia, his amante, whom Johny got to marry Leon before Leon was killed by Johny's henchman.

Carla is a moth person who burned herself up after she embezzled money from a bank where she worked, then gambled the money, won with the gambling, but the gamblers stole her money. So she burned herself alive, despite having a husband and child.

Chino was a electricuted murderer whose body was the recepticle for Leon's spirit when Leon was murdered by Johny's henchman. When Chino was electricuted, Chino's spirit entered Beltran's body when Beltran was killed in a car accident. Was Beltran good or bad? He seemed to neglect his family when teaching anthropology.

Somebody else can probably give you a better explanation, which you also could get for yourself by reading the summaries of the plots since episode 1.

What happened in Vegas stays in Vegas for Luci and Jacobo. How did they end up fully dressed arguing, after that beautiful scene on the river? I think there is missing scene.

You guys are so great to help get me on track with this somewhat nontraditional telenovela. Rgv Chuck thanks for also clearing up the Eva laundering money for the cártel.

RGV Chick: I knew I recognized Psychopath Erick Montenegro from "PyP"!

Wow. I may not be able to wait until lunchtime to watch this. Sounds like the water was indeed steaming. You also made me laugh with this:

He knows it’s difficult to understand; he doesn’t understand it either, but that’s the way it is. The psych secretly tries to remember the name of that You Tube Video about abducted by aliens.

The Beltino story seems to be stalled at the moment. I'm hoping the writers will be arranging for a way to make him connect with Camillo since he doesn't seem to be making any moves to find the money buried in Texas.

I'm also really annoyed by Eva's "supposed love" for Mateo. First of all, her affair isn't saving the marriage because she repeatedly brushes off both his bids for lovemaking and also bids for attention. That's a real relationship killer. And in addition, you don't betray people you love. So, our Eva has trouble being honest, both with herself and others. Have to admit though, her eyes are beautiful. Even better than Jacobo's.

Happy to hear we had a miraculous "cleaning" of the rare silk dress. That probably only bothered us gals who know how easy it is to ruin clothes like that. Juarever!

Thanks Rgv Chick. Did you have to watch this 2 or 3 times just to make sure you got it right? Well, hopefully there will be some more steam in the future, and not with JohnyBeBad.

Thank You, thank you Ms Chik. Great recap

Yes, Steve, Erick Montenegro is still the same despicable psycho that he was in Passion and Power and in La Piloto I.

I hate to add to a chorus of questions, but how did Lucia and LCJ morph from abducted by Narcos to released and nonchalantly making their way home.

Enoch, he did not use the OnStar (panic) button because now deceased Snake Goon was holding a hand grenade which he promised to activate and roll under the car when he saw LeonChi reach upward to the BUTTON.

Their Fresh look after the river: If you have ever inadvertently dropped anything overboard, you know how nearly impossible it is to retrieve in water. Add in the flow of a river, and their clothing should have been in the Gulf of Mexico by the time they decided they once again wanted them. I suppose the shoes actually did float away.

Oh Johny Johny Johny. Didn't anybody ever tell you that if they will do it FOR you they will do it TO you? Dishonesty is a double edged sword you dirtbag.

Johny is just so smarmy and in the way. I mean, is there just one of that guy? He is everywhere at once it seems. Like, does he ever sleep, or eat?

JudyB Silk? Try living your life with a silk tie around your neck. They naturally tend to hang right under your mouth. Arrrrgggh. Tacos are out.

Hah, thanks for making me laugh so early in the morning Kirby. I've taken to wearing an apron all the time when I eat. Looks a little better than an adult bib but I'm sure those days are coming!

Anon 12:54. "How did they end up fully dressed arguing, after that beautiful scene on the river? I think there is missing scene." Yes, they cut out the gaffers on jet skis chasing down their clothes. :-)

Don't feel bad. There is never actually a time in his life when a male human could not use a bib.
Fido's a messy eater.

Glad to help, Victoria. Enoch, thanks so much for adding that summary about the characters.

JudyB, I agree..that Beltrino story has pretty much gone nowhere. HE has done nothing but get a shaman killed. And they are also spending too much airtime on the Lupita-Pancho story line. If anything gets cut out, it should be that one.

Looks like everybody agrees about the clothes..quite unbelievable, isn't it?

Steve, glad to see you back :-)

Thank you, Chickie. I saw some of this episode.

I appreciated the synopsis of the storyline because there are so many characters and plots. The actress playing Eva is playing a very different part from the sweet, gentle girl she played in Raymond.I

VIctoria, I like your photo of Captain Rick from Pasion. I miss Fernando.

Thank you, Rgv, delightful read, like always.
I haven't watched this yet, but can I just say a big YUCK to the love making in the river ? That's just so nasty in my book: kidnapped, dirty from head to toe and you have your first sexy time with the driver in the water next to all the creatures that naturally live there. Lucia really needed to scratch that itch, huh? You can't buy class, I think...

Which goes for Lucia, but even more for Eva. If this is how she plans to keep her marriage alive, what would she do if she ever wanted to end it ? Whatever makes her sleep at night, I think.

Victoria, your confusion is fully undertandable. The plot and some of the character motivation is all over the place. I think the writers are getting greedy, there are too many characters and not enough time to properly address each story ark.

Enoch, I agree that Alicia is too suspicious of Beltran ; his changing didn't just happen, he was in a nearly fatal accident, he could be suffering from PTSD or some head trauma that is yet to be discovered (for all she knows ).
Little side note: I'm aware of what college footbal is, but I didn't know that the student/players don't get paid. That seems really unfair. They do have scholarships, right? American education is crazy expensive. (I'm European, I could easily afford to pay my college and grad school with a little bit of help from my parents ).

Judy, Eva's eyes are to die for (someone probably will, by the time all is said and done). Have you watched the actress in Sin tu mirada? She's the lead and a true revelation (the story turns out decent, too)

Talking about pretty eyes, I work in a restaurant and this morning we had Michel Brown's twin with us. I swear I couldn't help but stare, he was so similar, maybe less muscle but same hair color, hair cut and beard. Oh, yeah, his eyes weren't blue, they were green, like Eva's. (I told you I stared ).

Eva’s conclusion that a lover can generally be credited with saving marriages is reminiscent of the friend who seems to be the only one who read that study that red cars are the safest color, and who, incidentally, has their eye on a shiny new red convertible.

Adriana, American college football has an almost 100 percent captive fan base, as many generations of alumni and family are guaranteed to be loyal supporters. And the universities capitalize on this somewhat, knowing that affluent graduates are usually pretty good money sources. It is an accepted principle, though maybe unwritten, that you give back to the institution which helped you get where you are.

Pobre Mateo.

REACTIONS to SUMMARY / IMHO

While Jacobo & Lucia were canoodling in the water, I thought those were witch moths in the air swarming. But as our illustrious summarizer (muchas gracias) says they wuz birds, I need to recheck.

The wringing of the nose, bringeth forth blood. Willy will keep fooling around w/ the victim of Tonio's crime until they smell a rat. Tonio will plant the mask in Willy's room & say Willy done it. Willy is heading for jail. My guess.

So whose gonna take care of the goon snake now?

Vale is gonna dis Lucho. Go find somebody else to luchar with, LUcho. Is Lucho the name they give an unsympathetic character?

Nervous? I am reminded of Nervous Norvus who sang "Transfusion." (Ahma nevuh nevuh nevuh gonna speed again; Pump the jarret to me Barret).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jojuPQXMm44

Why is Lupita lingering in Meh hick co?

What is nookie?

When I render the word amante in my mind (in a telenovela), am I wrong to render it "mistress," a step beyond "friends with privileges."

It looked to me like Karla's blood magically stopped flowing downward before it got to the dress.

Barb likes money, so we understand her not wanting to close business for a while.

I think Beltran's lie to Al-Leash-ia about with whom he was chatting was quite easy te be exposed.

surprising that the truck stopped to let in Leon-in-Chino. A guy who picks up a girl on the road won't like to find there is a hidden guy who is tagging along.

"Mateo is there to pick up some of Gaston’s things to take to Teresa" Who are Gaston & Teresa?

What is it that Eva "ama" about Mateo? She consistently makes him "dance in the hog trough".

I must check to see if the re-writer of this story is some kind of female feminist, given the Vale story line.

Kayla is gonna have a birthday party w/ no booze? Really? W/ Kayla, Renata will need to keep an eye on Willy. Did will say "Te amo" once to Renata? No despapye? Van a despapayear. So Kayla is not an equal renter of the apt? It is Renata's?

From what I have seen, telenovela writers don't know or don't follow psych counselor protocols, or have idiot shrinks who don't know how to shrink. Giving an order to hug seems quite improbable. What the Marriage & Family Counselor wud more likely do, is spy on the 2 while they are in the waiting room. It is one thing is they sit together, but if they space themselves well apart, that is another.

Al-Leash-ia wud not gain much esteem with the shrink by her behavior. She needs a lesson in Must-er-ba-tion, as Albert Ellis calls it; rumination in the mind as to how things MUST be. Why can't she just enjoy what she has and patiently wait for his head to recover from the trauma?

They are going slow on Lucía getting the frigids for JohnEvilAngel.

Are they really calling the head of security Frau? (Mrs. in German).

I'm having trouble absorbing all the names: Who are Tiberio & Sergio?

Strange to me that Chino-in-Beltrán is not really acting like Chino. Why is he burdening them with an occult story as if the truth? Doesn't he know that he may be hospitalized for Delusional Disorder if not Schizophrenia? Diagnosis: Paranoid Schizophrenia AEB bizarre delusion.

Have we got some reason why LinC did not push the panic button in the blindado SUV?

"Psych reminds her she has a child and that she shouldn’t do something she will regret."

No-shrink, telling her what she SHOULD DO (like coulda, woulda, shoulda speak). Shrink wud have said, "How do you feel about . . . .")

Lucia is a weak character. She let herself be dominated by JohnEvilAngel, then risks STDs w/ LinC. Isn't she the one who needs the shrink? How is it that she tolerates Eva going thru her things?

Right now it seems to me that Cami is a superfluous character in the story.

Are we supposed to think that Lucia never had sex with Leon? If so, I'm thinking Eva might be able to get the marriage annulled.

Ot….Kirby...what is the safest color car? / My friend who leases a new white Nissan every three years told me that white is the safest color. Do you agree ?

As to Eva's love for Mateo: Pigs love slop.
My interp: she loves to have him to dominate; he takes out her garbage, runs errands for her, builds her ego, giving her a dog to kick, a guy to reject (don't women love to have a guy who wants to kiss them, but they never let him?) He is UUUUseful.

SusanLynn, If I remember, white is number one or two. RED is for sure at the bottom. As I understand it, it has less to do with the actual car color, but rather the types of people who would prefer to drive a blazing red car rather than a sedate white of blue one.

Enoch. Not REAL women.

Oh Lord. OK Gaston is the murdered (by Cartel Goons) reporter coworker of Mateo, Teresa widow.
Nookie is a noun OR a verb both having to do with two people without their clothes on properly or at all.
"It looked to me like Karla's blood magically stopped flowing downward before it got to the dress." Wardrobe didn't know how to get blood out either, even fake blood.
The truck which picked up Loosey-a had dozens of flashing/strobe lights and was red and stainless steel. Looked to me like an ambulance. Maybe more than one occupant, gender undisclosed.
Eva only mentions Amar Mateo when talking to Alacran. Cheating Chick game 101

I thought Kayla and Renata were roomies too. Maybe they are, but Renata has the lease and is the stable one who makes sure the bills are paid, so it is her apt and Kayla is just a roomie..

Tiberio & Sergio: Tiberio is Silvina (Silverfish for U) husband, the gardner. Sergio is Lugar or what it's name's friend who is trying to date Juli. Vale's soon to be exboyfriend who was making popcorn soup (it appeared) with Juli.

Luci as we are supposed to believe, had old man sex but not whiz bang POW young guy fast and furious in the river sex apparently.

" Cami is a superfluous character in the story." Camillo? The only sane, alive, person who knows who the star of the show really is? I'll have to think about it.

Judy:
Yes, they are neglecting the needed trip to US for the maletin w/ Chino-in-Beltran.
& they have the romance w/ the college girl pending. Maybe Belt moves in w/ Mina; then Al-Leash-she-ah goes after him with her leash, telling him he gotta do something cause they son beez dyin.

KIrby; the quick morph from being chased to nonchalant is not believable. They wud not be having time for hankipanki in the water w/ thugs on their case. Nor wud they be nonchalant. They wud be focused on skedaddle instead of hankipank. They did neglect an opportunity for a week lost in the woods, abandoned cabin (filled w/ moths), entry into the moth cave behind the falls, etc.

More unbelievable; the PANIC BUTTON would have been pushed long before the grenade got out, & had they rolled it under the car, the car was not blocked from zooming forward while the thugs would be zooming away from the car! Rolling a grenade under the car could be a way for the roller to lose his holy legs.

Adriana:
From your thumbnail, I must opine that you are way too young to be starring at men.

USA has run up the cost of education by having govt guaranteed loans, so the youth sign the papers & go to school, the universities roll in money (tho state supported often), and graduates end up with huge loans, for which there is no ability to go bankrupt on.
When I went to graduate school at the University of Manchester (England), it was not real expensive even for an American. They also gave me some scholarship money. At that time University was only for the elite (like even their A-levels). It cost the Brit nothing to go do university, but it was only for the few. I think they had this exam which set your academic future for life, test taken at about the age of 12. I understand now that Brits have to pay for university. In US about anybody can go to university. Our local Community College (1st 2 years of university) had open enrollment (last I checked) if you are 18 years old. To be sure if you score low on placement tests, you will have to take remedial courses first before the real stuff.)

Athletes are likely to have scholarships in big universities; they don't have to pay to be a football player at a university (also probably taking special courses to keep them in school, like Underwater Basket Weaving). When I went to college in USA many years ago, one could work ones way through by working in afternoons & summers.

Vale's soon to be exboyfriend who was making popcorn soup (it appeared) with Juli.
Correction:
Vale's soon to be exboyfriend's friend who was making popcorn soup (it appeared) with Juli.

Lord help me. it is her daughter Enock. :-) Too funny

Chick, thanks so much for your latest marvelous Resumen.

Somebody commented, "Pobre Mateo":
Yes, but hasn't he been chatting up some girl at the empresa?

"Loosey" I like that apodo.

Kirby popcorn soup:
They may be showing Kirby as incompetent: he doesn't even know how to make popcorn.
I didn't want any of that.

The River Hankipanki
Let us not assume what they did not show, nor unassume something.
Should we take a swarm of moths in the air as equal to the old wind blowing in the trees?
E.g. we must assume that somewhere on Loosey's body she had a small bottle of Scope hidden w/ a travel tooth brush; they cleaned their mouths throughly off-camera before they began smooching following a long time of non-tooth-brushing, & foul morning breath, which is why the snake did not attack Loosey; she just blew a puff of foul-breath-air in his direction. Leon-in-Chino had some dental floss. He handed it to Loosey & said, "Whenever Clint Eastwood was about to do a kissing scene, he made the female floss first, handing ler some floss.

Ot..enoch...yes, community colleges have open enrollment and cost much less than 4 year colleges. I teach at our local community college. Many students save money by going to a community college for the first two years and taking all the basic courses (music, psychologu, etc) and then transferring to a four year college for their major . my daughters did not want to do that, but they both got merit scholarships,,one for a state college for education and the other for a private college for math and computer science, my friends son got a full scholarship for baseball at a prestigious university. Colleges are so expensive now.

susan,
pardon if my memory fails me, but what do you teach?
Yeah, the old adage is It is not a subject you teach,
but people!

My daughter did the com col route. She did 2 years at comm col, then went to a 4 year college that had a 2 year program for those who had 2 years at com col. Saved a lot of money. My daughter had a part time job while in college & graduated with no student debt (she got scholarships, & I & her grandpa helped out).

But that is some years ago also.
IMHO the high cost of college/university is a scandal in USA, as also not paying football players aside from scholarships (My guess is that most of what they get at university is NOT a university education, but trivial athlete courses.)

AK-47 & "bullet proof" glass:
I was skeptical about the thugs not just blasting out the glass with their AK-47s (nice little Russian rifle). Turns out that there is special car glass that can stop AK-47 (at least if not special armor-piercing bullets). However, a real AK-47 is a full automatic weapon (as opposed to what they sell to civilians, semi-auto which requires a separate trigger pull for each shot). & I don't think there is any doubt but that if you emptied a 40 round magazine into a car window at one spot that it would go through. So I think the grenade gambit was nonsense.

Also, the conventional wisdom is that you never go to a 2ndary crime scene. Suppose someone pulls a gun on you in a gas station & orders you to drive somewhere or to get in the car while the thug drives you somewhere. DO NOT GO. It is better to be shot in the gas station than in the woods some where after tortured. Supposedly if you run, there is 50/50 chance that they thugs shoots at you, & if he shoots a 50/50 chance that he misses you. So I am determined not to be taken to a 2ndary crime scene.

U wud think that Leon-in-Chino would have got better training.

As to Chino-in-Beltran:
Chino seemed to be going straight, being a good husband & father (aside from giving in to some flirtation by a bad college girl). So looks like A-Leash-shea wants him on the leash & will drive him away. Maybe she will miss him when he goes. Eventually we expect him to go to USA to get the Maletin.

OT...Enoch...I teach English as a Second Language at our local community college.

That's right, make them kill you right there at 7-11. We see a lot of that here in Florida

Re the glass in their car: Enoch I believe that may be where they got the term "Bulletproof Glass". :-)
Better training? He had none, he isn't a chofer, he is Leon with a fresh body. He is accustomed to paying people to take care of those things.

Good Evening All and thank you for dropping in! WOW great discussions and comments!

Enoch, Mateo didn't having anything going with Susana at the office; they were just co-workers. As far as we know, Mateo is a good, faithful husband.
