Mi marido tiene más familia Friday 12/21/18 Capítulo 72 Blanca and Robert To the Rescue--OR--If Sebas Runs Away, Does He Have to Be Found?

The fight continues. Robert and Pancho duck and dive like a choreographed team. Vicente's friend ends up on the floor. Pancho takes some salt /spice mix from the bar and throws a handful in Vicente's face. Vicente complains that he cannot see. Robert throws a glass of booze in Vicente's friend's face.
Vicente ends up beating up his own friend since he cannot see who he is punching.

As they embroider, Blanca tells Julieta to just take it easy since this is a delicate task and she has a needle and not a hammer.  Blanca wants to know more about Julieta's first date with Robert.  Julieta, with a smile,  talks about when Robert came to pick her up.   Hugo stood in the doorway to prevent them from leaving being very possessive as he always has been. Blanca supposes that Robert must have had a fiery response. Julieta explains that isnot Robert.  He feels bad after killing a mosquito.  Robert is the most  peaceful person  that she knows. He'd never get involved in a fight.

In the meantime, Robert is getting knocked around. He hurts his own hand as he punches Vicente's friend and then gets his own lights punched out. The police finally arrive.

Julieta tells Blanca she is just making her remembering so much. Blanca thinks that remembering is living. Julieta remarks that her mother was making hot dogs with guacamole so Robert asked her to pack them up to go so Julieta and he could take them with them.  Her brother, being a fool, said he was going with them to the party. And here Blanca said she thought that Julieta's family was less complicated than the Córcega's.  Julieta answers no way but Robert found the perfect way to get along with the family that he married into.   Robert stole Julieta's heart from  the very first day.

The police listen to all four of the brawlers. Pancho says they were all fine until they started being baited by the light haired one.  The police officer really does not care who started what. Didn't they realize that they were in a private business? He is going to have to take all four down to the station. Robert tries to reason with the police officer saying that they understand what they did is wrong. It won't happen again.  They should have thought of a more mature way of solving their problems.  The other three agree.  The policeman decides that if the owner of the bar decides not to press charges, he will let them go with a warning. Pancho gets up and starts counting his wad of bills.  The policeman asks if he is thinking of paying him off. No, Pancho is planning on reimbursing the bar owner for the damage that they caused him and to buy all of the patrons a mezcal.  Everyone cheers. Pancho is sure that what he is offering the bar owner will cover all of the repairs that need to be done. The bar owner just shakes his head in disbelief.

Julieta now finds herself in the kitchen with Blanca cutting up vegetables.  Blanca wants to take advantage of her time with Julieta. She wants to spend lots of evenings together so she can hear Julieta and Robert's whole love story. Julieta looks surprised.

As Pancho and Robert leave with bottles of cold water held against their faces, Pancho compliments Robert on his "talking" abilities.  He saved them all from going to jail.  Pancho impressed Robert with with his ability to pay for all of the damage. Pancho hopes that he didn't spoil Robert's relationship with Vicente. Robert says no worries because they talked it over already. Robert says he never was in a fight like that. Pancho changes the topic. He still hasn't told his children about his novia Susana.  That is going to be a BIG problem. Also, they still have to come up with a plan for Robert to win Julieta's heart again.

Blanca thinks that Julieta's and Robert's love story is so impressive it should go on unti they are very old.  She advises Julieta not to allow resentment to take over. Julieta says it isn't resentment. It just feels like something broke  between them.  Blanca reminds her that what has been torn can be sewn back together. If one works hard enough, in the end you will never even know that a tear was there.

Pancho offers Robert some advice. Robert has a great heart but he cannot spend his life trying to make everybody happy. He needs to find a balance. He and Julieta are very different people so Robert  needs to understand that she will not think like he does.

Blanca continues and tells Julieta that Robert is a good complement for her as a marriage partner. He is vey calm and Julieta is . . . Julieta fills in the world "intense". Blanca says better Julieta say it but that is why they are a "magical" couple. Julieta sees them as "magnetic."It is the old opposites attract.

Robert always saw Julieta as his refuge but then they lost their balance. Pancho tells him now is the time to get it back.  He needs to heal his relationship just like they are going to heal the bruises.

Blanca uses the the metaphor of the atole she is making.  She and Robert both bring different ingredients to the recipe. If the ingredients are out of proportion, the recipe won't work.  Julieta admits that she goes to extremes some times but she cannot help herself.  Blanca sees that Julieta has changed a lot. She can tell that her family is now her priority. Blanca smiles. She reminds Julieta that Robert loves her and to let her bad thoughts go little by little.

Pancho tells Robert that although his relationship problems won't be solved right away, he needs to keep in mind the things that brought him and Julieta together.  That is how love is cooked up!

Gabriel thinks about his infertility problem  with Hermoso.

Robert and Pancho show up at Blanca's where Julieta and Blanca cannot believe what they see.  As Blanca and Julieta tend to their wounds, Pancho and Robert moan in unison.  Robert complains that the slice of beef now hanging from his face is so cold. Julieta says it serves him right for fighting. Pancho blames it on some brutes who started it all. Robert wants to know why he cannot have some ice instead of a hunk of beef. Blanca is hearing none of it!  Robert thinks he smells atole. Pancho does to.  It smells so good . . . Blanca and Julieta tell them NO! in unison. Pancho says he knows that they have to be punished. Blanca starts to laugh. Robert dares to ask for some atole and Blanca gives his ear a good pull and he moans in pain.  Blanca and Julieta can only laugh.  Julieta tells Robert not to complain so much.  Robert admits that his ears were the only thing that didn't get pummeled.  In unison Robert and Pancho tell the women that they should have seen how they OTHER guys looked after the fight.  Blanca invites Julieta to a delicious atole.  They leave the boys with the slices of beef hanging on their faces.

Finally Julieta helps Robert into bed.  She never saw him fight like that even when they were novios. He knows and admits to thinking back to before they were novios. She smiles slightly and says she was remembering that time, too.  Robert tells her he will win her heart back.  Julieta is still smiling.

As Blanca is washing the dishes she asks Dave how he is doing memorizing his lines for "Oliver Twist." He tells her that his part was given away to Julio.  He asks Blanca not to tell his parents.  Blanca is upset and insists that that is not going to happen.  She will talk to the director right away.

Axel runs into Linda at the school and they talk in an empty classroom.  The long and the short of it is that Linda wants to be friends and Axel wants to be more than friends.  It really hurt him when she chose Iker over him. She made him believe in love again. He kisses her. Iker sees them through the open window. She finally pushes him away and tells him it is all bad between them. Iker doesn't deserve this. He wants to know why she cannot accept that he loves her.

Gabriel and Dani are out for a walk.  Gabriel is confident that soon they will have a baby in the oven. Daniela says the important thing is just not to give up. Gabriel never would but then  trips and falls and as he does, he loses his grip on Hermoso's leash. The dog starts to run and Dani goes chasing after him.

Blanca tells Iker how cruel it is to give a child a part in the play and then to take it away. He understands her being upset and suggests they go and talk in a classroom for more privacy.

Robert thanks Vicente for  being so understanding about what happened in the bar last night.  Vicente sees it as just being at the wrong place at the wrong time.  Robert continues and tells Vicente that he will be unable to replace him in Africa.  He has chosen to make his family his priority.

Axel keeps going on and on explaining his feelings to Linda..  He knows their relationship won't be easy because they are cousins and their families' attitudes about that but he is willing to fight for her love. He is open to doing anything for her.  He wants a chance to show her what he feels.  They kiss. Blanca and Iker walk in on them.  Blanca cannot believe what she is seeing.  Why is Linda kissing her cousin?  Iker gives Linda the stank eye.

Susana beings Sebas to school and they run into Pancho with his bruised face.  She asks what happened.  They end up jus smiling at each other which makes Sebas  move in between them and ask why they are looking at each other that" way.  He demands to know what is going on so Susana tells him right then and there that she and Pancho are novios.

At work, Casandra comes in with a huge box for Julieta.  Julieta opens the card on the gift. It is from Robert who says it is time to get some balance back in their lives. She needs to remember that he loves her with all of his soul.  He hopes she likes this fist step in the process of winning her heart all over again. Julieta smiles. The box is filled with heart shaped helium filled balloons. Julieta is happy.

Bratty Sebas throws a tantrum.   The bottom line is that his father is back in Mexico and Sebas wants the four of them to be together again.  Susana reminds him that she and his father have been divorced for a long time. She only wants to get along better with Sebas.  He sees her having fooled him.  She  was only nice to him so he would accept Pancho.  She is a hypocrite. Pancho tells him not to be so unfair to his mother. Sebas tells him to shut up. He will never accept Pancho because he HATES him.  Susana looks stricken. Sebas runs into school.

Blanca has had it with Linda and says this is the last straw. She thought that they were staying away from each other. Blanca was under the impression that Linda had matured in Europe and had realized she cannot do things without thinking. Linda starts in with "But, mom . . ." but Blanca is not interested.  How could she go this far with her cousin?  Linda reminds her Axel is her half-cousin.  Blanca agrees but the issue is that Axel is still a part of the family, her blood relative and anything between them is forbidden.  Axel has the nerve to ask "Forbidden by who?"and Blanca tells him to shut up and answers "By nature"  Iker next lets Linda have it saying that he trusted her.  Diana has arrived and wants to know what is going on and reminds them all that they are in a school and looks at Iker.  Iker explains that Blanca had come to the classroom to discuss why Dave no longer had the role in the play and when they came into the classroom, Linda and Axel were there. Diana is concerned that a child could have walked in on them.   Diana is also upset  that Iker took away Dave's role without asking her permission first.  Then there is the issue of him letting unauthorized people into the school.  At this point, she doesn't have much confidence in him so she is cancelling the play.  Blanca tells Linda they are leaving right now.  She is lucky her father didn't see her because he would have died from the shame of it all.    When Axel and Iker are left alone, Axel wants to know if Iker brought Linda's mother there on purpose so she would catch them.  Iker tells him if Linda was going to cheat on his with her cousin, her family was going to know and he is happy her family found out.

Bratty Sebas had decided to run away.  Susana is crying that her son hates her. Pancho tells her that he needs time to get used to the idea of them being together.  Susana is not so sure that they can deal with these kinds of problems with their children. What if their children never accept their relationship? She tells Pancho that the kids come first.

Temo puts Ari on the spot. Why did he stop him from leaving?  Ari says that Oaxaca wouldn't be the same without him. Life is all about confronting problems and you have  to be brave and accept who you are.

Dani and Gabriel are frantic looking for Hermoso. Nobody has seen him. They cannot lose him.

Next Julieta gets a tablet with family photos from Robert along with the message that Robert loves her because of the way she makes him feel. Julieta is smiling again.  She has wonderful thoughts of them together. There is also a mystery key. . .

Robert explains to Vincent about this not being the best time to leave his family for a stint in Africa because of his son, this not being the best moment for him and Julieta  and having to leave their own house.  Vincent is happy that Robert is being honest because he is doing things the complete opposite of what Vicente did. He gave his priority to his career and now he is trying to get his family back.  Robert is not judging.  Everyone has their own priorities and has to fulfill their own dreams and goals. For him having people who love you is the only way to true happiness.

Julieta has also received a box of chocolates.  Catalina comes into her office and is impressed that her favorite son-in-law is winning Julieta's heart just like he did when they first met.  Catalina tells her when there is love, you have to take advantage of every minute.  Julieta has to forgive Robert. Life has given the  chance to be happy again by returning Dave to them Julieta shouldn't be the one to separate from her "magnet".  Julieta smiles even more.  Catalina would really like one of those chocolates.  They think back on Julieta's first date with Robert.  Catalina ate all of the chocolates and Robert moved through all of the obstacles as if they were nothing. Catalina warns her not to let pain and pride win over her love for Robert.  Julieta gets a text message that Blanca is calling a family meeting.  Blanca has described it as urgent with praying hand emojis in multiples.

Blanca says she is going to need like a liter of tea to calm herself down and try to forget the image that she witnessed.  It just replays over and over in her head. Linda apologizes a thousand times.  Blanca says it is  not a matter of forgiving her.  Having seen her like that with Axel means that Linda has been laughing behind all of their their backs for a looooong time. Her poor father and grandmother when they find out. Linda begs her not to tell them. All Blanca knows is that Linda played her for a fool.  Linda had a good guy in Iker but chose to get herself in a mess with a family member?  How to punish Linda? How to make her think? Well, that is why Blanca has called a family meeting.  Linda begs her to cancel it. She will take any punishment Blanca wants to dish out but just please do not tell the rest of the family. Blanca is unmoved. Linda will have to suffer the consequences. Linda gets a text from Axel hoping she can manage to smooth everything over with her family.  He is there for her. Blanca confiscates her phone. Blanca doesn't want to talk to her any more.

At the bakery, Polita tells Audifaz that if he isn't ready to accept Ari they have nothing to talk about. Polita is ready to talk about divorce. She is going to talk to Robert's lawyer.

Susana is back at work thinking about Sebas.

Diana tells the students that "Oliver Twist " has been cancelled. Dave notices that Sebas is not at school.  The kids are upset with the play cancellation. .  Diana says they can present some of the scenes at the school camping experience this weekend.  She hands out information sheets about the school camping experience.  Diana asks Dave what he knows about Sebas. Julio says that Sebas arrived at school that morning but then ran away.

Susana is working with Catalina. She is distracted  and then gets a call from the school saying that Julio saw Sebas leave the school after he arrived that morning. He ran away.

Dani and Gabriel are back at the dog pound with missing Hermoso posters.  Nobody has seen him.

Imelda wonders why there is to be a family meeting.  Linda is silent.  Imelda is curious as to what is going on between Linda and Blanca Did they have a fight?  Blanca explains that the family intervention meeting is to talk about Linda and her Linda "issues".

Julieta gets a call that an important professional has come to see her.  It is Robert in a tuxedo with orchids. Julieta is overjoyed.  He tells "Señorita Aguilar" that he is there to invite her to remember their first date.

Eugenio is back from visiting Tulio at the rehab center. Tulio will be fine. They all hope he is well soon. Audi tells them that Polita still wants a divorce.  Blanca tells Audi to really think things over and  to accept Ari. Of course, Imelda disagrees. Linda tries to stick in her two cents and they all tell her to be quiet.

Julieta is a little confused.   Well, that is why Robert is there so they can talk. Just as they are going to kiss, a frantic Susana comes in to let them know that Sebas ran away and asks Julieta to take care of the office as she goes looking for him. The magic of the moment is broken.

Sebas sits alone is a park still angry about Pancho. Hermoso comes by to play with him. Sebas asks him if he ran away, too.

Julieta knows she would just die if Dave ever ran away from school. She wonders what they can do to help.  Get an amber alert? Robert says it is important that Susana takes charge and lets them know what she wants done. They both get the text about the family meeting and more about Eugenio being back, Tulio being okay, etc.The texts never end . . .

Susana tells Pancho not to say a word about Sebas being lost to Crisanta.  Susana has already contacted the police.  Pancho suggests they look around the school. He will help look for Sebas, too.

Comments:
The highlight for me was the fight and the two guys with the slices of beef hanging off their faces. But then there was Julieta reminiscing over her first date with Robert and Robert actively trying to win Julieta back bruised face and all.

I was happy Iker set Linda and Axel up. So much to like in this episode!

Thanks Jarifa! I thought I'd better comment now while I have some time. I too, felt very entertained by the meat on Robert's and Pancho's faces. The whole fight was so slapstick!

Well at least bratty Sebas has found Hermoso and hopefully Hermoso will keep Sebas company until they are both found. I just hope no other trouble happens for Sebas since he's wide open right now without any adult around. Oh and I loved your title, "If Sebas runs away, does he have to be found?" That had me giggling because that kid is much more trouble than what he is worth.

I loved seeing Robert courting Julieta, trying to win back her love. So romantic!

I just finished some editing and I think it is reading a bit better.

Anyway, Cynthia, I always enjoy a good dose of slapstick in these novelas.

They mentioned something about a school camping experience. Might we be traveling to a new location? Sure hope so. That could be fun.

Amazing Jarifa. You are a natural born recapper. Just wonderful.

“…or if Sebas runs away did he have to be found”? laugh out loud material. “Blanca has described it as urgent with praying hand emojis in multiples” was also great.

The best descriptive term I can come up for this episode is charming. Blanca and Julieta sewing and bonding, Pancho and Robert brawling (more brains than brawn) and Robert working his way back to Julieta’s heart. The face steaks were great but the balloons and chocolates were heart warming.

“Robert always saw Julieta as his refuge but then they lost their balance”. Sigh.

“Robert and Pancho duck and dive like a choreographed team” and yet “He'd never get involved in a fight” made me smile.

Unfortunately, the entire night was not a pleasant dream. Susana (who’s done little wrong lately) should never have told Sebas Pancho was her novio at that time and place. Flight was the only “realistic” outcome. I’m not sure there are enough magical elixirs to fix this…

Hermoso’s flight was also upsetting. I’m glad he found his way to Sebas.

And patio, please enlighten me. Axel and Linda. As cousins there is no dilemma, is there? Too close to be together. Blanca is right.

“Life is all about confronting problems and you have to be brave and accept who you are”. So Ari, you are just speaking to Temo, right?

Eugenio was a sight for sore eyes.

Superb episode matched only by the recap. Jarifa, thank you, thank you.

Diana

Jarifa: AWESOME.

Diana: What caused the brawl between Robert & Pancho ?

Cynthia: I hope somebody kidnaps bratty Sebas.

Diana, thank you for your always kind comments. My head is growing . . . : )

Yes, “charming” is the perfect descriptor for this episode. The scenes with Julieta and Blanca sewing and in the kitchen were just so comfy. You are also so right about that not being the right place to tell Sebas about Pancho. That was way too serious of info to lay on him right before school started.. Susana should have been more into disciplining Sebas’ bratty attitude and then sending him into the school. As for Ari . . . he is becoming a major ? with his feelings towards Temo. Just like that old expression “things that make you go hmmmmm”.

Thank you, Jarifa.

Perhaps Hermosa will have a positive effect on Sebas.

I always look twice at the sign outside the school...is it really Abraham Lincoln School ?

Robert is the sweetest soul , and I am always attracted to sweetness.

Well, off to my daughter's house.

Jarifa, I am rather intrigued by what is going to happen with Temo and Ari. Or not happen...

Steve, Vincente is jealous that Susana and Pancho are novios. Sebas is a brat at times but his defense of David as a friend keeps him from being unbearable.

Susanlynn, "sweet" is indeed a great word for Robert. I think Daniel Arenas is showing a nice knack for comedy. He has just been fantastic. Enjoy your day with your family.

Diana

Thanks, Jarifa. Terrific job of a fun episode.

Sebas is a pain, but I'd rather see Linda run away. Love that Sebas and Hermoso are together.

Teeheehee, Vicente punches his own friend by mistake.

Yay, Eugenio's back.

Like everyone else, I liked [Sebas] "does he have to be found?" Actually the child actor has a marvelous smile. Hopefully we'll get to see it more and more often as he adjusts eventually to the romance between Pancho and Susana. Still can't get excited about that pairing (does the actor also have an upper dental plate? seems to), but it better than nothing in the romance department. We do have Gabriel and wife together once again. And hopes for the intense Julieta and kindly Robert.

Susanlynn, glad that you had your own "sweetest soul" for so many years. May you hold those warm memories close this Christmas with your family, and see Mike once again each time you look into your daughter's eyes.

Thanks Jarifa. Wish I were on your cookie list. Guess I will have to make my own!

Jarifa, thanks for another great recap with a great title, or titles. I especially liked "If Sebas Runs Away, Does He Have to Be Found?"

I suppose he does, but I would like to see him have a few "experiences" first that could shake his bratty sense of entitlement. Not everybody in the world will let him treat them badly and dismissively as his mother allows. Since she doesn't seem able to discipline him I would love to see a short class at the School of Hard Knocks open his eyes a bit. You might think that, being a great friend of Dave, he might have a clue how good it is to have a mother who loves him and what a difference it can make.

Maybe Hermoso can tell him :-)

And maybe I'm just in a grinchy mood today (Bah, humbug!), but I am only so-so pleased with Robert's efforts to win back Julieta's love. I like Julieta, but she is a bit of a brat also. I don't see their marriage as being a 50-50 partnership. To me it looks like Robert does a lot more in every department, so it's at least 60-40 and maybe more, Robert's efforts.

Ah, one last thing. "Blanca and Robert To the Rescue" sure, but Pancho too. It's a good thing he walks around with a huge wad of cash in his pocket.

:-)

Ah, one last, last thing: I, and I'm sure all of us, appreciate all the excellent recaps you do for us. Thank you.

andy

Susanlynn, I always do a double take on that school name, too. It is interesting to see what parts of one culture carries over into another.

Diana, I, too, am really enjoying Daniel Arenas in this one. ITA that he is sure proving that he is talented in comedy as well as drama.
Whoever did th casting for this one did a great job.

You are welcome, everyone!

Niecie, if we are lucky maybe BOTH Sebas AND Linda will disappear somehow.

JudyB, if you just lived a few l hundred miles closer, I’d drop you off some kolačky, too. LOL Pancho and Susana are reminiscent of several couples I have seen in real life in the sense that I could never understand how they/why they ever got together but they were. Go figure!

Andy, I am just happy that I am still really enjoying this novela so recapping is loads of fun for me. What is always a pain is when the thrill is gone and recapping becomes more of a chore than a joy. So, I am a little more careful what I choose to recap these days. Yep, Pancho always has a huge wad of cash in him. I wonder if that is an antidote to when he had no money.

Well, the sun is out and the traffic is not bad. A perfect day to be out and about.

Thank you Jarifa for a wonderful recap.

Worried about Hermoso being with Sebas since the kid is so unpredictable. Just hope he has enough sense to take the dog home so Daniela and Gabriel can reunite with him; this couple has had enough anxiety.

I cannot decide if Julieta and Roberto are truly reunited. Hope so.

As for Audifaz, if his attempts to establish a closer relationship with his Evangelical Soul Mate had worked he would not be back wanting to talk with his "wife". I hope she just divorces him, punto. Ari does not need to justify himself to this character.

As for the dynamic between Temo and Ari, the writers are clearly playing with us. But there may be a reveal soon.

And I agree that Daniel Arenas has really come into his own with his portrayal of Roberto in this TN. Hope we see more of him comedic roles. Love his hair.

Jarifa - I still have not had time to watch this episode but want to thank you for your recap! I love the title, too.

Can Viewerville vote Sebas off the island? Linda, too?

The scenes with Blanca and Julieta have been nice. I look forward to these, too. They have both come a long way from the first season.

It is official. I have overdosed on Hallmark Xmas movies. LOL. Hubby and I watched one last night that induced snark, eye rolling, and dire need of my telenovela beanie hat. Stick a fork in me; I'm done. 🤪🤪🤪.

And apparently hubby and I are in the minority---we prefer boiled custard to egg nog. There is a dire lack of boiled custard (not even dedicated shelf space) in stores while eggnog is ... everywhere. Oh, the injustice of it all. #firstworldproblems

Anon, good point about the writers playing with us in reference to Ari’s feelings for Temo. Just another thing I like about this novela : there are no easy cut and dried answers.

doris, very cute avatar! If only we could vote off those two and send a few more with them . . .

🙋🏻‍♀️ What is boiled custard? It sounds like something I should know about for this time of year. 🎄

Jarifa, I cannot say exactly what is the difference between boiled custard and eggnog. Both hubby and I grew up on eggnog in the north and once we discovered boiled custard, we never looked back. BC is thicker and does not have that "whang" (southern term-lol) flavor from whatever spices (cloves?) that are put into eggnog. BC is almost like drinking melted ice cream, IMO. I call it liquid gold. Making from scratch involves more time spent stirring at the stove, according to those who make it from scratch. We buy a local dairy brand bur getting squeezed out by influx of new people to our area who only know eggnog. 😕

Thanks, doris, for the explanation. Drinking “melted ice cream” sounds like a definitely a good thing.

Doris, my mom made wonderful boiled custard (she was from Kentucky). She always served it with her incredible fruitcake which she had marinated in brandy from Thanksgiving on. In a big crock down in the cool basement, wrapped in cheesecake and doused each day with more brandy until Christmas morn. Miss the custard, miss the fruitcake, miss Mom. She was a fabulous cook. Nothing fancy or gourmet, just good ol' country cookin'.

I never heard of boiled custard, but my dad loved eggnog "with a stick" (a little whiskey) at Christmas. My mother also made plum pudding with a delicious sauce that had a bit of whiskey...all served warm...she bought the plum pudding premade but made the tasty sauce. Christmas memories.

OT...Judyb...my mother and mother in law were both good country cooks....lots of good German fare.I miss them both and all those delicious meals that they served to their families with love.

Well, speaking of Christmas traditions, does anybody else get a lump in their throat when they hear Mel Tormé sing "Have yourself a very Merry Christmas"? For some reason that just triggers such an ache in my heart, I always tear up. Used to wreak havoc during Christmas class workouts. Hard to cue relaxation/stretch moves when you feel like bawling. Don't know why that song gets me but it sure does.

JudyB, any version of that song makes me feel very sad and nostalgic and I don't know why.

Whew. Thanks for checking in Jarifa. I was beginning to feel very neurotic about it. It came on the radio as I was pulling into the garage today and the tears just started to flow. Oh me oh my.

Judyb....all the Christmas classic songs make me cry.

Judy, oh my yes.

It's a beautiful song. Like Jarifa, any version of that song makes me choke up.

The song is nostalic and lovely. You are not alone amiga..."Let your heart be light" is not always easy to do. If only it were.

Susanlynn, hugs to you...

Diana

Hugs to one and all and wishing you a blessed Christmas Eve. I still have this virus and will have to miss church which makes me sad, but so it is. I will be there in my heart as I will be with all of you. Merry Christmas!

Good Day, Patio! I'm late again, but found a few minutes to drop ina dn read the recap and the comments. The recap was exquisite, Jarifa, thank you! Comments are pretty much on target with my feeling about the episode:

Sebas is a brat. The only reason I want him found is so that Dani and Gabe can get Hermoso back.

Yup, Susana made a faux pas telling Sebas about Pancho at that time and place. What was she thinking.

The Blanca-Julieta conversation was timely...let's hope it doesn't go out Julieta's other ear.

Loved seeing Robert trying to win over Julieta once again. It seems that he is the one that is usually teh one to take the initiative to salvage their relationship. Could it be that he thinks he needs her more than she needs him?

Boiled custard sounds tasty, and "Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas" one of my favs!

Robert "warming up" for the brawl was great comedy. He looked like he was dancing at a party. LOL I'm still enjoying the Blanca & Julieta scenes. Remember how Julieta's knife was hectic and dominated by "Pili's" reminders? Such a contrast to this quiet time with Blanca, doing hand work. Oh so low-tech.

"Have yourself a merry little Christmas" is a great song. The one that gets me every year is at our Christmas Eve service. Everyone has a candle that is lit at the end of the service, the sanctuary lights are dimmed, and we all sing "Silent Night". It is just beautiful and I always start crying from the sheer beauty and emotion of the moment. Every year I steel myself and try to not get all blubbery, and every year I'm pulling Kleenex out and hoping nobody else notices. 🙄 Gah, I'm getting weepy just writing about it.

JudyB- I hope your cold will clear up. One friend of mine has had a lingering cough for over a month after her cold. Ugh.

Lastly, I will post here the text of a Facebook share since I cannot post the accompanying artwork: "Still one more thing to wrap: your arm around someone grieving a loss this Christmas."

Susanlynn, you are included on my very long list of friends and people I know who going through their first Christmas without their parent, spouse, or child. It is sad, painful, and unimaginable to me. I am praying that all have comfort and joy where it can be found in those small moments, as you take life one hour at a time this week. Love and (((Hugs)))

On a positive note, after yet another wild goose chase yesterday, I fully surrendered and accepted that we were not supposed to have boiled custard at Xmas this year. Funny how that works in my life; once I surrender completely to whatever, things turn out okay in ways I can never imagine. So this morning I went to the grocery store for one small item, decided to check the dairy case, because why not?, and there was a small inventory of boiled custard. Merry Christmas to us!

My wish for all my Patio friends and your families a wonderful holiday/Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus!!!

knife? Life, you sully autocorrect. Bah. Humbug.

RgvChick, yes, looks like Sebas will help Hermoso make his way back home. It would give the brat a purpose.

doris, glad you found your boiled custard when you least expected it!

I did some research. According to the sages of the internet, it so happens that “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” was a much sadder song originally. It first appeared in the movie “Meet Me in St. Louis”. Supposedly, Judy Garland found it so sad, that the lyics were lightened up a bit. (Yikes!) The reason for the sadness was the plot where a family was moving to New York away from their home in St. Louis. I haven’t seen the movie in like forever so I do not really remember much about it.

My best winter solstice/Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus wishes to everybody.

This can be a wonderful time of the year. I love all the Christmas songs and hymns, from Silent Night to Adeste Fideles to White Christmas to... well, lots more. And when I can I like to attend a performance of Handel's Messiah.

But my all time favorite Christmas song, embarrassingly enough, is 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer'. Ah, well, there's no accounting for taste -- or lack of it.

Nothing wrong with that choice. It is a great song. My favorites are "Santa Baby" or "All I Want for Christmas is You" Great sing alongs for driving.

Wishing everybody a very Merry Christmas and/or best wishes for whatever you are or are not celebrating!

Alligator Blues has a great one, "I'm your Santa and I am comin' to town." A little naughty but always makes me laugh. Still sick but feeling better so Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday to all.

Judy: Santa Claus is checking that list & triple-checking it.

Merry Christmas and joyous holiday wishes to everyone.

Thankful for many things including this wonderful patio.
