Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 12/10/18 Capítulo 64 Back Together, Back Apart--OR--Slapfest!

When Crisanta and Susana arrive home, Vicente and the boys are playing video games. Susana decides to join in. Sebas says he will have to teach her. She would love to learn. She plays on one team against Axel and Vicente on the other team. Crisanta somberly looks on.

Frida tells Dani and Gabriel she is happy that they are together again. Dani says the reality show  strengthened their love.  Blanca asks what Gabriel is planning on pursuing.  He wants to be an event planner. Blanca chuckles saying it isn't very masculine. Gabriel nicely lets her know it is all about breaking stereotypes. Blanca sees the family getting more and more modern. It will give Imelda another heart attack. Linda fills them in about Ari and Temo coming out and how Audi ran his own son out of his house. Dani talks about respecting others' decisions even if they seem strange to us.  Blanca is happy they are back together again.

Pancho is at home working at his desk when he calls Susana. She answers in a good mood. They miss each other. The kids were happy to see their father.  They want to see each other so she will be by tomorrow after she gives Imelda the legal document showing her ownership of a portion of the apartment building.  He doesn't care about the document. He just wanted to see her. Who will hang up first . . . .?

Temo talks to his friend Diego back in Toluca about Julio's reaction to him being gay. He also mentions that Ari is supporting him by pretending to be gay. Diego sees that as sort of strange. Temo says Ari is his best friend and feels nothing for him romantically. Diego is not too sure about that.

Blanca is with Linda expressing how she wants Dave's first communion to be special and for him to continue to be a part of the family.  Things are complicated especially with Robert worried that because of the situation with Dave, Julieta is going to end up leaving him.  Linda doesn't even want ot think about that because that is what Julieta did after the loss of her baby.  Blanca thinks of her children all growing up and leaving the nest. Linda says Blanca's children will always be there for her.

Julieta is in her room lying like a mummy on her back just staring.  Robert is still awake in Dave's room She gets up is a rush and almost leaves the room but doesn't. Robert almost leaves Dave's room but stays inside instead.

Dani is cutting off Gabriel's beard. They are all lovey dovey. He is optimistic seeing their whole future ahead of them. He wants to hire Clarisa for his new business. he will have his office in the house rather than rent space. He asks if it is time to get a dog. They kiss.

Blanca stops by to get  a light bulb from Pancho. He invites her to have some (Bimbolicious) pound cake with her. He'll put on a pot of coffee. She cannot find  reason to not have a seat. She asks him if he is not sad. He tells her his philosophy of life. In his sadness, he has not lost sight of the joys he has had in his life. It balances it all out if we don't stop smiling. She asks what inspires him.  Well, the fact of the matter is that he is a Pancho in love.  Blanca looks surprised. He clarifies himself. He is in love with life.

Vicente meets with Robert.  Vicente tells him how hard it has been being a doctor in Africa. He is looking for a replacement and thinks Robert would be perfect and his career would soar with this opportunity.  Robert thanks him for thinking of him. He will have to think about it and discuss it with his wife. Linda and Dani stop by to make plans with Robert for  a sibling outing complete with a video chat with Marisol. They want him to remember he is not alone.

Catalina has Tavo over for breakfast She cannot believe all that is happening to her at her age. Tavo sees no limitations. If she believes she can, she will always be able to. Catalina thinks he is right. Tavo  always pictured himself married with children. Look at him now. He is divorced and alone. She asks if he wants to get remarried. That would bore her but he is younger, single and good looking.  He just smiles.  She suggests a tarot card reading. He puts his hand on hers. Catalina realizes that there really is something more here and breaks the mood by saying she didn't realize how late it was and she needs to get to work before the Máster. does  He tells her how much he enjoys spending time with her.  She enjoys it, too. He is a great guy. He kisses her on the cheek and leaves. When he is gone, Catalina's smile is replaced by a look of uncertainty.

Dave and Fernando have breakfast.  Fernando was up all night thinking about his life and he has something he wants to decide with Dave.

At work, Julieta talks with Gabriel.  He is sorry about what happened and wants her to know he is there for her. He offers legal help through one of his dad's lawyers. She thanks him for his concern but wants to hear all about how the reality show ended.  Did they win and get money to pay off all of their debts?  Gabriel says no, they quit. they got no money but did get their relationship back.  She is happy she signed them up. He tells her about his new business. He could take some of her advice but at another time when she is feeling better. Julieta  cannot accept what the judge has decided. She is going to fight for her son by showing the judge that Dave was much better off with them.

Tavo talks to Robert who is looking in on Gabi to see her progress.  Tavo asks if things are still going badly with Julieta. Robert says yes and it feels like his worst fears are being realized. To be honest, he feels like he didn't fight hard enough for Dave. He also is afraid Julieta is going to abandon him. Considering his background, Tavo sees his fear as normal. He will probably have it for the rest of his life.  Robert is also wondering if his trying to be good is a virtue or a defect in his life. Tavo thinks that goodness will also be a positive quality.  Robert says he strives to be the best doctor, best son, best . . . etc.  Robert says he just doesn't know anymore because Julieta does not want to forgive him for what happened.  They spent a lot on lawyers and all of his income is coming from the foundation.  Julieta is supporting the household on her own. Tavo wants him to calm down and not blame himself. Robert says things cannot stay like this. He is going to go see if his son is okay. He is going to see him at school.

Pancho is chasing Julio around the apartment trying to put vaseline on his lips. Julio doesn't want any. It will make him look like a girl or gay.  Temo just stares. Pancho grabs him and holds him down as he smears vaseline all over his lips.  Julio goes running off  bawling.  At school, Sebas says he look s like he painted his mouth. Julio tries to wipe the vaseline off.  Another boy says Julio looks like a woman so he can be gay like his brother. Another boy says that is why they don't want them there. they are contaminating the atmosphere. Temo thinks about the rock thrown through the window and asks the boy if it was him who threw the rock. The boy proudly admits it, of course, was him and calls him "little flower." Why can't they just go away? With that, Temo goes fo the boy but Ari pulls him back as Hugo breaks it up. Hugo will not permit any discrimination at the school. Julio says he will never be gay like his brother and knees the boy good and hard.

Audifaz is talking to Tulio alone. Tulio asks what is going on. Audifaz confesses that he is feeling something for his female partner in his  Christian study group. Does Tulio think that one can be unfaithful in thought? Audi knows he is betraying all of his principles and acting against the Word. Tulio reminds Audifaz he was the one  who always said marriage is sacred and that infidelity is unforgiveable. Audifaz admits that he loves Polita but she is not as good as a conversationalist or as intelligent as Aura. Aura talks about "topics "while Polita couldn't ever do that even if she wanted to.
He loves Polita as she is. Tulio tells him he is in big trouble because no matter how you look at it, Audifaz is cheating on his wife.

Linda is with Axel and Iker both in competition for her love. She needs to judge which one can give her the best compliment. She thinks they are like tow cavemen. Iker thinks of it more as two knights professing their love for a fair damsel.  They will both give he a compliment and she can declare the winer.  She tells them to hurry up. She has to take Frida to school. Iker wins the competition.

Julieta shows up outside the school. She tells Hugo she is there to see Dave. Robert arrives quickly thereafter. Diana comes out and tells them that Dave never showed up for school today and thought they knew. Robert calls Fernando. He says Dave is fine. He talked to Dave and he is going to change schools. Robert cannot believe it. Fernando says he is Dave's father so he is making the decision. He cannot drop Dave off because the present school is too far from his home and his job. Furthermore, he cannot afford the tuition. Robert offers to help until the end of the school year but Fernando will not take his offer. Julieta joins in saying he has to think of Dave's best interests. Fernando does not want to fight. He will find an excellent school for Dave but it will be closer and cheaper.  That is the end of the conversation.  Julieta tells Robert they will have to talk to the judge to tell him what Fernando is doing. Diana has a different point of view and sees Fernando as doing the best he can by his son given his circumstances. Hugo reminds her they are there to support his sister. Diana makes the point that a school's quality is not dependent on its cost. Julieta says the real issue is that everything is getting out of control.  Hugo will deposit the first payment of the money he owes her. Julieta thinks that is good because they need it. She has to go back to work. Robert will see what he can do about Dave's school issue.

Dani and Gabriel go out looking for a dog. A pure bred Akita? Or a mutt from the streets?

The doorbell rings at Pancho's. it is Susana. Julio is not happy to see Sebas' mother. She tries to make nice with the kids but it all falls flat. They don't like her. Pancho sends them to do their homework.

Robert tells Tavo about the latest development. He has been unable to contact Fernando. He is not answering. Julieta blames him for not seeing what was coming with Dave. Vicente made him an offer that could help him advance professionally. Tavo thinks he should think of his own happiness at this point. Robert doesn't  have a clear head. Julieta is still giving him the silent treatment.  He feels that, given the situation,  his family needs him.

Julieta is at work. She has tried calling Fernando but he doesn't answer and is not taking messages. Julieta throws her papers all over. Catalina will help her. She will always be her daughter. Julieta unburdens herself to her mother. Julieta says she is suffering from a jumble of emotions.  She cannot manage the chaos inside of her.  She feels a sadness that is indescribable.  She feels  with Robert and angry with herself that she didn't put a stop to it all when she should have.  She is angry with life. She has no idea of  how to fix this situation. If Dave doesn't come home, she will never be happy again. She feels broken. She doesn't know where to turn. Catalina says she is always there for her.

Susana and Pancho talk and chuckle in the hall. It sure was obvious that his kids aren't too crazy about her. She wonders what the kids will do when they tell them they are in love. They surely are not going to accept it. Pancho says they will  have to take it step by step.  Maybe it would be better to take advantage of her visit for a little kiss. She starts and stops because  it would be too risky.  She says she really came to deliver the documents form her lawyer to the Córcega's. Pancho ask if she didn't really come to see his big old mustache. No, she came to see him Pancho López, too.  They are soon interrupted by a sneezing Blanca. They jump apart and face in opposite directions. Blanca asks who scolded them because they look like two kids in the corner. Susana tells her she is there to deliver  a document verifying Susana's percentage of ownership in the apartment building. Blanca says she is happy that Pancho is staying although she is not happy they are losing the apartment. Susana says she has to admit that it is her family that is forcing the issue. Susana does not want to fight that is why  she has come with a legal statement. Blanca has to ask Susana if she has thought about spending time with her brothers. Wouldn't it be better if everything were solved by love?

Gabriel and Dani are still wondering what kind of dog to get as they walk along the street.  Dani wants to give a homeless dog a home. Gabriel agrees since they are not swimming in money. A cute little dog approaches Gabriel. He goes to pet it and it bites him. He is convinced he will get rabies. Dani insists it is no big deal.

Susana makes sure that Eugenio sees the document. It is no good going to court because the document was issued by a judge. Eugenio states that his mother will never be in agreement. Susana tells him like it or not they are siblings and she is within her rights.  Eugenio will show the document to his mother. Linda is not welcoming to say the least when she sees Susana.  Susana informs them that she will be staying a bit longer so she can see he brother Eugenio alone. Frida is asking about "boobies".

Ari and Polita come to talk to Audifaz. He wants to know what his son is doing in his house. Has he changed? Ari says he is the one who changed. Polita wants to talk as a family. They cannot turn their back on their son.  Audifaz and Ari get into a shouting match about the same old same old. When Ari dares call Audifaz by his first name as he criticizes him,  Audifaz slaps him hard twice across the face. Audifaz screams that Ari is not his son and  tells Ari to get out. Polita slaps Audifaz and tells him he will NOT hurt her Ari.

Julieta has another visit from the bank representative. He apologizes for having tracked her down to her workplace but she has not answered any of the mailings that were sent to her.   She makes the excuse that she has been busy and has not had time to  look over the information he sent her.  He is there to inform her that she is three months in arrears on her house payments and the bank is ready to remedy the situation.

Robert sits in his office thinking about Vicente's offer.  Dave calls Robert.

Comments:
PSA gone bad on dog bites? Gabriel had the right idea to be concerned about rabies. Dani was way off base with her carefree and mocking attitude on this one. It will be interesting to see how the bite incident plays out or doesn't.

Poor Susana couldn't catch a break from Pancho's rude twins, Blanca or Linda.

Poor Julio with having the vaseline smeared on his lips and then having to put up with the ridicule at school.

More tomorrow.

Thanks, Jarifa!

Just a quick comment. I’ve been noticing since last week but forget to mention it. Dani’s style of dress has been slowly changing...more feminine; and tonight she was wearing a pink nightie! About time!

And yay for Polita. Loved how she slapped Audi!!

More mañana!

Thank you, Jarifa. Great recap, it really was a slapfest. It was good to see Polita slap Audifaz, but she should have used a frying pan. A cast iron pan :-)

But Ari had it right, Audifaz has changed a lot. Too much, I think. What happened to the nice guy who couldn't seem to get a break? He eventually finished his book, which seems to have gone nowhere and to have sunk like a rock. But he wasn't a bad guy; the current Audifaz is 100% jerk.

A lot of nonsense in this chapter. Linda and her suitors... that was really silly, I thought. And not in a good way.

Susana and Pancho and who would hang up first, that was silly, but in a really cute way. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has done this.

Julieta is really down right now. She desperately needs chocolate but doesn't seem to realize it.

Later...

Jarifa: I see the slap-a-thon is back.

Fabulous Jarifa!

"Crisanta somberly looks on" and "Who will hang up first . . . .?" were among many favories.

“(Bimbolicious) pound cake” indeed. Blanca was savoring every morsel.

“When he is gone, Catalina's smile is replaced by a look of uncertainty”. Cat may have a bit of a crush, but she is clearly unsettled. Proceed with caution Cat. But leave yourself open – have fun!

“Vicente made him an offer that could help him advance professionally. Tavo thinks he should think of his own happiness at this point”. Umm, really Tavo? You don’t seem to realize Robert’s happiness is inextricably bound with Julieta and Dave? I don’t think moving halfway around the world will make either happy.

“Aura talks about "topics "while Polita couldn't ever do that even if she wanted to”. Really, you conceited, arrogant, pig-tailed weasel? Simply untrue. Blech.

“It was good to see Polita slap Audifaz, but she should have used a frying pan. A cast iron pan :-)” yes! Loved it andy.

As if Sebas, Julio and Axel weren’t enough being against Pancho and Susana, Lupita could not have been less enchanted. This is not going well.

Great call on Dani dressing more feminine RgvChick!! Jarifa, I agree that Dani should have taken the dog bite seriously but am thinking/hoping nothing comes of it…

As practical Julieta has been ignoring written warnings as to how many mortgage payments they've missed, she is truly drowning. Call in those loans...and ask Tulio for a loan. He's flush and sober. To say he "owes" Robert is an understatement.

Excellent Jarifa - thank you!

Diana

Oh my...great recap but I get depressed just reading it. So many problems. Glad though that they are tackling the issue of "emotional infidelity". That certainly exists and can erode a marriage so easily. Often happens when the kids are young, the wife is busy wiping noses and bottoms, and the great looking gal at work is suddenly so much more interesting than the harried mom at home. And so it begins...

Can't possibly see how sending Robert to Africa will help the situation. And hard to believe that our young couple has already missed three mortgage payments, while lending money to others. But read an article recently by a free-lance journalist who talked about juggling credit card debt even though both she and husband are employed and have cut every expense including cable tv, dinners out and vacations. And yet they are just one financial crisis from disaster. Living paycheck to paycheck. At the time you think nothing of it. I remember only buying my clothes at re-sale shops, same for the kids. Dinners out was unthinkable. You do it. But I would never have dared miss a mortgage payment.

Catchy title for a tough episode Jarifa. Thanks for all you do.

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa. I look forward to watching the rest of this episode over lunch, even though it continues to be .... depressing.

Gabe would probably be an excellent event planner. Each client and event would be different and that alone would probably appeal to his personality. Might even help raise his serotonin levels? Any job sitting behind a desk would kill his spirit.

Ah, yes, another PSA and this time about dog bites. He also needs a Tetanus shot if he has not had one in the past 8-10 years. I hope they don't give Gabe a case of rabies. Or tetanus. Eeek!

" Dani talks about respecting others' decisions ..." Being homosexual is not a decision. Hopefully she means his "decision" in coming out of the closet.

Hopefully Dani & Gabe won't get an Akita. They can be one-man dogs. There was one in our neighborhood and I always gave it wide berth. Finally, after it attacked the husband's mother or mother-in-law, I think they finally got rid of it. I vote for the mutt.

I loved Crisanta giving the Vicente the stink-eye while they were playing video games. Methinks she doth not trust him. Nor do I.

If Robert goes to Africa, he would be separating himself from his bio-daughter, Blanquita. Does. Not. Compute. Hopefully this is a red herring.

Juls & Rob's financial problems might lead them to filing bankruptcy, which could be yet another PSA: 1)pay attention to your finances and 2) how it ruins your credit rating. Some of the brightest people are financially irresponsible.

JudyB - credit card debt is one of the biggest causes of bankruptcy here in the U.S. People delay paying for stuff, makes it easy to ignore the amount of money they are spending, so they don't stick to a budget. Dave Ramsey has a good system for people who cannot manage their money well, on their own. Cash only, no credit cards.
And like you, even when we were eating tuna noodle casserole on a weekly basis, we never ever missed a house payment! Back in those days, whenever I charged something to the credit card, I subtracted it from my checking account register. Hubby laughed at me but that way, we had the money to pay the bill when it arrived! After a while, he stopped laughing at me. :-)

It did my heart good to see Polita stand up for her son and slap Audi. When did Audifaz stop wearing his necklaces? He probably saw the hypocrisy of wearing them. #sittingatthePolitatable

The scene with Cat and Julieta was sweet. Working seems to agree with Catalina.

Oh gosh..it’s like seventh grade drama with silly Linda,Iker and Axel, They use screen time that could be used on other actors..Polita. Temo etc.

Jarifa and doris., thanks for pointing out that Gabe and Dani are not taking that dog bite seriously enough. I don't know if they even bothered to wash the wound.

Why are they even looking for a dog at this point? I love dogs but you have to be able to take care of them. These two are just (barely) managing to get their lives together.

Is Tulio really sober now? Hopefully so.

And very definitely seventh grade stuff with Linda, et al. Though I think most seventh graders are a bit more mature.

Sunny and 41 deg F here today. Nice.

andy

Thanks Jarifa, for your detailed recap. You filled in the parts I missed while I was busy last night cooking.

My favorite part was Polita slapping Audifaz. He DESERVED to be slapped.

Thanks, for all the comments.

Back to the dog bite, here you would go to the dr./emergency room ASAP for an unknown/street dog and given rabies treatment because by the time the symptoms of rabies appear it is too late for treatment and they do not necessarily appear quickly. They have been so good with all of the other PSA,s, this one has me scratching my head. I will add it to the list, though.

There sure is a lot going on.

RgvChick, thanks for mentioning Dani’s evolving style. I will have to watch for it now.

Andy, Dani and Gabriel are thinking of the dog as a test for if they are ready to have a baby. If they can take care of a dog. . . . Funny but I have seen this happen among friends and then their adult children. It is mid 30’s and sunny here. No complaints from me.

JudyB, the whole Africa thing annoys me. Part of Robert and Julieta’s problem is that they are so tightly scheduled that they couldn’t keep track of their money. They both run like rats on a wheel. Also, I am not a fan of Robert’s foundation. As a father, his first responsibility should be to support his child and not leave it all to Julieta who is at her rope’s end. Making more money but being in Africa won’t solve the problem either. What about closing the foundation and getting a full time M.D. plastic surgery position and bring some income into the family and stay in Oaxaca? . Guess I am too practical.

Diana, you sure have described Audifaz to a T: “conceited, arrogant, pigtailed weasel.”

doris, I am sitting at the Polita table, too! The slap was the highlight of last night.

Cynthia, Audifaz not only “DESERVED” that slap, he has been begging for it. What a nasty man! Tonight I will be cooking as I am watching. : )

"What about closing the foundation and getting a full time M.D. plastic surgery position and bring some income into the family and stay in Oaxaca?"

Now you're talking! Great Jarifa.

Diana
