Mi marido tiene más miedo Friday 12/7/18 Capítulo 63 Don't Poke the Bear

Fernando walks Dave to  school where he mets Sebas and Frida. He leaves to go to work. Iker  invites Linda out for some coffee. Yes! There is always time for coffee, or, as Iker puts it,  time for a new book or a start to a new adventure. She is all smiles.

At "Reality de amor",  the last challenge is "Brave for Love".  The couples will have to fight fear as they undertake tests of physical ability working as a team.  They have to "hand walk" over a pool, walk through a box of mice, climb a wall, put on a  wedding lasso. At the end, Gabriel cannot say enough good about Dani.  She has a similar declaration of love for him.  They win the challenge.

Robert is at home getting upset in Dave's room. He looks at Dave's drawings when there were just the four of them.

Julieta is at work giving a presentation to Susana and other executives. She is having a difficult time but  Susana helps her out.

At school, Lupita talks to Dave. He is happy to be with his bio-dad  but he is  sad seeing his other parents crying.  Lupita thinks it was good of him to go with his bio-dad because he was all alone.  Dave says it is very hard. She tells him he isn't all alone. He has her and his other parents. They like each other a lot and share a plum.  Julio and Sebas get into it about Sebas not having any friends except for Dave.

At the café, Iker is describing the plot of Anna Karenina to Linda. It is about a romantic triangle. That grabs her interest.  She doesn't want to hear anymore so it won't be spoiled if she reads it. Iker tells her that unforgettable loves are the ones that require some effort. They kiss.

Audi goes to his religious center to talk to Aura about the annoying kids and everything else. He feels like he is in a spider web of conflicts. He is having marriage problems. His wife doesn't think like he does and is against him. "His wife doesn't understand him." Aura in a very proprietary way smooths his shirt and tells him to calm down.

Susana literally bumps into Susana and sends her papers flying as he barges into her office as she is leaving.  He looks like he is still interested. She doesn't.Vicente wants to talk. He wants to be upfront about coming back to Mexico.  Susana finds it strange that he's saying he misses being home at this particular time when he hasn't been home for several years. He blames it on his work but it doesn't mean he stopped loving his kids. He wants to make up fo lost time.  Susana gets a text message. She tells Vicente, that she is wanted at a meeting. It really is a message from Pancho. He loves her. She smiles and touches the necklace he gave her. Susana warns Vicente not to just show up at her office without contacting her first.

Robert visits Julieta in her office and is greeted by her dead fish eye look and no reaction. H is sorry he didn't call but he couldn't wait anymore.  He feels so bad that they are like they are. She is so distant, so cold.  She didn't even say goodbye to him. He reminds her of his promise to always stick together. Julieta informs him that things are not like they were before. He was the first o break that promise. Their family is coming apart because of his decision. She needs SPACE. She is asking him not to come looking for her. She doesn't want to talk to him or to see him. She feels so much pain that if it were just the two of them she would be out of there but Blanquita needs both of them and she doesn't want their family to suffer anymore. Their family has come apart and something has broken in their relationship.  Robert reminds her of the bad times they have been through and overcame. He is sure that they can fix what is broken. Julieta doesn't know. She asks him again not to come looking for her because she doesn't want to end up being rude to him.  She just doesn't want to talk to hm. They both nod and he leaves.

Robert runs into Catalina. She tells her special son-in-law that she is sure it will all get better.  He needs to hang in there. Julieta may be high strung but she has a big heart. Robert leaves and Tavo calls Catalina. He is impressed hearing her so professional.  Would she like to go to supper? Catalina says it is so late already and she still has loads of work. Why not breakfast? He agrees. He tells her to keep lighting up those around her.

Linda has had her fill of kissing Iker. They discuss kissing and she declares him a good kisser. Axel arrives.  Linda asks him if he is following her.  Iker and Axel agree on a new competition. Each of them will have to convince Linda why he is the best guy for her. She will choose the winner.

Blanca, Polita and Imelda are watching "Reality de Amor". Blanca misses them and hopes they lose so they can be back home already.  It could last two more weeks! Dani wants out because she doesn't want to be separated for Gabriel anymore.  Gabriel asks her if she is sure.He asks her about the prize. She says they have won already because they have already reconciled and have realized the mistakes they made. They have grown as people and as a couple. They are ready to return to their lives and even maybe a dog. Imelda laughs out loud. Blanca is glued to the screen.  Dani says that Gabriel is the man for her. They kiss. Their  team is officially eliminated. Luca and Sonia are declared the winners. Polita thinks they need a great homecoming. They all agree. Blanca starts thinking about a menu/

Pancho is outside sweeping the sidewalk when Audifaz  stops by to tell him not to sing his victory song yet.  He needs Susana to defend him because he cannot do it for himself.  Audifaz laughs in his face. Panchos  comeback is that Audifaz has to hide behind his mommy's skirts. Why doesn't Audifaz get a job like everyone else? Audifaz criticizes the way he has raised his children.  They are like beasts. Pancho uses his broom to sweep Audifaz away. Audifaz thinks that Pancho has brought bad luck to the building. Before him, nobody was throwing rocks through windows. Pancho threatens him with a bucket of water.

Catalina brings Julieta some tea. They go out on the balcony to talk. Julieta  feels like life doesn't want to make her happy. First they lost her baby.  Then there was the Dave's difficult adoption only to see him lost maybe forever.  She feels like her soul,  a part of herself,  or a part of her life has been ripped away. She feels like a failure but she has to continue on because of Blanquita.  Catalina explains it is normal for couples to go through tough times but also that she and Robert can fix things.  Julieta is not so sure. She doesn't want to see him or speak to him. That scares her. Catalina is not taking sides but she says Julieta needs to sit down with Robert and tell him exactly how she feels and  not to hold a grudge.  Catalina wants her to learn from her mistakes. Catalina held everything in and never told Julieta's father how she felt for a long time. Maybe if she had voice her feelings in a more timely manner, everything  would have turned out differently.  As Julieta sobs, Catalina tells her she will always be there for her no matter what. Catalina hugs and kisses her.

Imelda goes over to Crisanta's to complain again about her so-called "vulgar"clothing and calls her the "plague" Imelda wants her sexy clothing gone.  Crisanta informs her that sexy clothes are for women who enjoy their sexuality and not for bitter women like Imelda.  Imelda informs Crisanta that even though Susana may be fighting for her inherited property rights, she will never end up with an apartment.  The war is not over because she has new cannons ready to go. Imelda spray paints Crisanta's clothing to rid the street of vulgarity.  Crisanta warns Imelda that she will be sorry.

Julieta plays with Blanquita and a toy I am sure they all want us to buy.

Polita and Blanca are preparing food. They get talking about Audifaz. Polita says when she first met Audifaz he had a rocker vibe and was very open minded. She thought he would be by her side to raise a family. Now he doesn't even work and only sits around reading. If it weren't for her job down in the bakery and the food that Blanca gives her, Polita would not have any idea of where they would be. Then there are bills that need to be paid. Blanca tells Polita she can always count on her family. Polita is a part of their family. Polita smiles but still doesn't know what to do. Robert comes in wanting to talk to Blanca. Polita leaves.

Fernando picks Dave up after school, brings him some candy and promises him a real great afternoon.

As Robert helps Blanca clean shrimp, she brings him up to date on Dani and Gabriel. Linda is picking up Frida at school and has a very special interest in their school play. Marisol is on tour with Xavi in Iceland.  Robert is pleased that at least his sisters are happy. Blanca tells him he doesn't have to be strong with her. He cries wondering what Dave is doing and if he is thinking of them. . . . It so happens that Dave is having a fine old time eating out with Fernando.  He also wants some of the  chapulines . . . (grasshoppers) . . Robert cannot believed how his whole life changed in just an instant.
Robert fears that it could all get worse. He feels like he is losing his Julieta. Blanca says Julieta still loves him. Robert says no. Julieta's love for him has ended. She is abandoning him.

When Julio and Lupita get home, Audifaz puts his plan into effect. Audifaz asks them if they want to see  what he has in his container. When they get close enough, he throws flour all over them and goes to to quote his good friend and teacher Simon Bolívar (known as the Liberator of Latin America) that "It is  difficult to do justice to those who have offended us".  The kids are left covered in flour.

At Pancho's, Temo is still upset that Julio has changed so much with him. Pancho tries to explain that Julio is a little boy and does not know how to react.  Julio and Lupita come in covered in flour. They tell him the culprit was Audifaz. Temo  holds Pancho back and advises hm to just count it as even between Audifaz and the twins.  Pancho tells the twins that there are to be no more pranks on Audifaz. They agree but with crossed fingers. Julio thinks the flour has some hot pepper in it.  He can feel it on his lips. Pancho tells them to go clean up.

It is the end of "Reality de amore" The announcer says that everyone involved has changed and are not the same people they were when they came to the show. Their work here is  finished. It will be up to the couples whether they stay together as couples or not.  Dani and Gabriel profess their love to each other. "Colorín colorado este cuento ha acabado ." (and they lived happily ever after.)

Julieta, Robert and Ari are eating supper together. The only one talking is Ari. He says he can find another place to sleep. Julieta says he can stay and  asks how things are going with Temo.  Ari prefers not to ignore the elephant in the room and asks how they are doing. Julieta thanks him but now is not the time to talk about it.

Crisanta goes out to Canuto's old truck.  Susana has followed her out and wants to know what is going on. Crisanta just wanted to remember her husband for a few minutes. Crisanta doesn't want to get rid of the truck. Susana says she  doesn't have to. Crisanta suggests they go for a ride and have a chat.  They get in the truck and Crisanta pretends she is driving.  Crisanta is pleased that Susana is fighting for what is hers and is helping out Pancho at the same time. Susana is not sure what the future will bring but she is not comfortable with Vicente.   Nevertheless, Susana is sure that  with her mom at the steering wheel and with her support,  that it will all turn out just fine.  Crisanta bounces up and down and blows the horn. They both laugh.

Robert and Julieta are in their room. Robert tells her he is going to sleep in Dave's room because he knows she doesn't want to talk.  Julieta silently stares straight ahead.

Fernando lovingly puts Dave to bed. He wants Dave  never forget that he loves him. Fernando leaves his room and a sad Dave remains hugging his dinosaur.

Dani and Gabriel touch base at Blanca's before going home. They have a surprise welcome prepared for them.  Imelda has a headache and Eugenio a sore hip so they are not there. Dani thanks her mom for coming looking for her all the way to Mexico City.  She felt terrible that she wasn't allowed to see her. Blanca "the Máster" has had her fill of that "once in a lifetime" adventure. Dani thanks Blanca for the homecoming with the cake. They  have a lot to talk about especially Robert, Julieta and her niece and nephew. Blanca fills them in that Julieta and Robert lost Dave to his bio-dad. .

Robert gets into Dave's bed and thinks back on himself looking for his mother at the  orphanage. He realizes that he always has been afraid of being abandoned. Dave looks like he is crying in his bed. Julieta is awake in her bed.  Julieta's and Robert's pajamas no longer match.

My favorite scene was Susana and Crisanta in the truck.

How long until Robert and Julieta have matching pj's? Will they ever again???

Até amanhā, amigos.

'Até amanhā, amigos.'

Hi Ho Silver, Away!

Thanks, Jarifa, yet again. You are a real trouper for doing these. But "Até amanhā, amigos"? OK, I had no clue what this meant, but a quick search translated it for me, and I didn't have to scratch my head and later toss and turn all night wondering what it meant, which is what would have happened pre-internet.
But then I started tossing and turning wondering what secret message you were sending us by using a little Portuguese. I can't win :-(
:-)

But Julie, good grief Julie! Get over yourself! And now Robert is boohooing as well. Sheesh! You guys are really gonna bum me out. It's not like Dave fell off a cliff and died. He's just spending some time with his biological father. And Robert is not at fault.

Julie, for a pretty hot babe you can really be a turnoff. Susana has blossomed and you have sunk into a funk and want to pull everybody down with you. Whatsamatta U?

I don't know about Audifaz and his cult girlfriend, they are a mystery to me. It always seems that he is with her whenever he needs a little spiritual counseling. Still there doesn't seem to be any hanky panky... and who could blame her? For not wanting any hanky panky that is, unless she's into strange man-buns and even stranger men.

So what is going on? All this attention to get one person to join up? A person like Audifaz? And do they all hold these extreme views that he now has? How do they pay the rent with about 12 congregants, at least one of them penniless? Wow, so many questions, so little time.

andy

Enoch, I haven’t heard that familiar “hi ho” cry in years!

Andy, sorry I sent you to the online translators. It was a really very loooooooong day yesterday and I was getting silly. Anyway, “How do they pay the rent with about 12 congregants, at least one of them penniless.” describes that situation to a T. I didn’t Like Aura smoothing Audi’s shirt for him. That seemed a little too comfortable to me. But hey, maybe that was a red herring. You never know,

Rob should just dump Juls for good. She's too high maintenance, cold and acts like a selfish brat. She clearly manipulates the relationship-not just controls it, but manipulates it. But no one tells her to see the shrink. Rob deserves better than her poor emotional treatment. It veers to abuse at times.

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa, of another painful episode.

Yikes! I noticed Rob & Juls pajamas did not match, too. This is not good.

Interesting that Vicente now appears to want Susana back, after seeing her with Pancho. I do not trust Vicente.

”Why doesn't Audifaz get a job like everyone else?” Because he really does not want to work. It is much easier to walk around judging and condemning everyone else.
Throwing flour in little kids? Yeah, that’s mature. Oh, right.
Audifaz-->Imelda
Fruit-->Tree
Flour-->spray paint
PLEASE, can we vote these two off the island???
(plus I really think Audifaz has some sort of undiagnosed mental health issue that renders him incapable of keeping a job)

We have to keep remembering Julieta was raised by Catalina. Compare the two and Julieta is still a much saner person. Her selfishness and self-centeredness was taught to her, subtly and in its own way. Does NOT mean I like it. But another case of Fruit--->Tree. Still, she is hurting because a child she adopted, loves like her own, has been taken from her arms. The whole thing reminds me of the story of King Solomon. I just FFWD-> thru Julieta scenes right now.

Count me as another who wonders about Audi's new cult. Most exploit people for their own ego in controlling masses of people, and for raking in their money. Audi has no money. So, QTH???

Thanks Jarifa, you did it again so well! I feel like I've lazy since I didn't' get to do Thursday because of the soccer game. I loved your catchy title too!

My favorite parts: When Julieta started stammering in her presentation, Susana stepped in to help her out and get her going again. Previously in earlier shows, she would be angry. Now she looks like a supportive manager. My other favorite part was when Catalina took Julieta out on the balcony and was being really motherly with her, comforting her. Previously, Catalina would be the one sucking Julieta dry with all her problems. It was good to see Catalina in the mother role and being supportive to her daughter. Also in that scene, Susana walks in and sees what is happening and she just smiles. This is a new Susana that I am getting to really like.

I cannot blame Julieta for feeling the way she does. If you have never been a mother, you will never understand. I know women who were just about ready to adopt and the rug got pulled underneath them and the court ruled in favor of the bio parent, even though the bio parent really was not a good parent. Julieta just needs time to work through this and right now Robert is in her line of fire because she is just reacting with a lot of fierce emotions.

As for Audi's cult, I am surprised that he has a female mentor. Usually that doesn't happen, even in cults. The cult that I am aware of that used "flirty fishing" was the old Children of God cult. But I did notice that Audi doesn't tell the whole truth to her. It's more the old, "My wife doesn't understand me" kind of thing. Oh and if she could only see how he is treating Pancho & family! I don't think she would approve of that behavior. Then the incident where he threw flour all over the twins---how immature is that? Not the kind of behavior from a true Christian man at all!

doris, Yes, it is curious that Vicente shows up right now when Susana might have a chance with another guy. Jerk! As for Imelda, I am actually regretting that they brought her character back for another season now seeing how she is siding with Audifaz.

Cynthia, you put it so well in your description of why Julieta is as she is after losing Dave.. ITA. She is beyond logic in this situation. and it is going to take TIME for her to adjust to the new reality. "filrty fishing": I never heard that one before but it is a good one!

Marvelous Jarifa. Loved the title

“Aura in a very proprietary way smooths his shirt…” and “He looks like he is still interested. She doesn't” were among many favorites.

Oh my Jarifa, if anything perfectly but sadly captured this episode “Robert visits Julieta in her office and is greeted by her dead fish eye look and no reaction” was certainly it. “She feels so much pain that if it were just the two of them she would be out of there” is painfully apparent.

I feel for both Julieta and Robert. If only they could turn to each other for comfort. I was relieved they went to Cat and Blanca who were there for their children unconditionally.

The mismatched pj’s were proof positive of things being askew.

"Susana has blossomed and you have sunk into a funk" - you've nailed it again andy. I also loved Susana with Cris in the truck...Cynthia, yes, Susana "rescuing" Julieta during the presentation was heartening. But I don't think Susana knows Julieta lost custody of Dave - or am I wrong??

“Julio and Sebas get into it about Sebas not having any friends except for Dave”. Julio is an intense little boy – if Lupita is the warmth, he is the coolness.

“He tells her to keep lighting up those around her”. Who would have ever guessed those words would be said to Cat by an admiring potential suitor? All things seem possible.

doris yes, what on earth does Audi have that the cult might be interested in? In fact, what does Audi have that anyone would be interested in?? And what grown man stoops to pulling pranks on children??

Dave is also feeling a great loss. However is this going to be resolved? Seeing those flashbacks with the infamous red sweater is a heartbreaker.

Jarifa, just fantastic. Thank you so much.

Diana

"Robert visits Julieta in her office and is greeted by her dead fish eye look and no reaction."

Such a perfect description Jarifa. These scenes of marital discord are so painful to watch. The actress is doing a very good job of portraying what it's like when a partner totally shuts down. No matter how much the other may do to make a bid to reconcile, it is not going to work. Hard to watch, but hoping that there will be matching pajamas again one day!

Evidently lots of turnarounds from the first season. Imelda has become unwatchable and unbearable, as has Audifaz. And I'm also finding the young brother's rejection of Temo very painful. It's understandable. But very painful to watch.

Hope this lightens up soon. Winter cold, gray skies and lots of trouble in Oaxaca!

Thanks again Ms. Multilingual Jarifa!

Imelda, I think you overstayed...go go mean witch,!

Jarifa, you always come up with such delightful descriptions. I have to agree with everyone, "dead fish eye look" was inspired among so many of your other quips. Thanks for such wonderful recap.

Juls is being so harsh with Robert; it's difficult to watch. And Diana, ITA, those scenes with little Juan Pablo are heart-wrenching.

Andy "Susana has blossomed and you (Juls) have sunk into a funk and want to pull everybody down with you." Well stated!!

Cynthia, I truly enjoy seeing Cat when she plays the loving mother...she has come a long way from what she used to be like during the first season.

Vicente returning shows how selfish he is. He didn't care leaving his wife and kids, but when another man enters the picture; he wants his family back?? WHy??? Pure selfishness, IMO.

Doris, you have my vote for sending off Audi and Imelda to an island...on another planet?? How many times can we vote?

JudyB, Julio is definitely hard to watch. Kid is a good actor..come to think of it; I don't think I have ever seen a TN with so many kids...all very good a portraying their characters.

I am glad you all enjoyed the "dead fish eye" expression. I have seen that look one too many times on dead fish washed up on lakeshores/seashores during my life and there it was again looking at me from the tv screen. LOL

JudyB, it is a beautiful winter day here at about 33 degrees, plenty of sun and no wind. A good day to be outside. I hope you get some sun soon. it makes all the difference. ITA that Zuria Vega is sure showing her acting talent in this series.

Diana, I loved that they showed Julieta and Robert in different pj's. Just another example how they have tried to take care of the details in this one.

RgvChick, I didn't notice until you mentioned it but this series is loaded with kids but they are such good actors and the plot lines are interesting enough that I don't mind. I usually don't like shows with lots of kids. Go figure!

Good Monday, everybody! It will be good to get back to unreality tonight.

And it's always a pleasure to visit this nice, well-behaved patio.

Hello all...

Andy, I have a feeling something is going to happen tonight to start the eventual resolution of one of the many issues.

I'm glad that Dani and Gabe are back. They've proven they love one another but are their issues miraculously resolved? Does he now have a clear career path and more importantly, is he still sleepwalking??

Diana

And RgvChick and Jarifa, I'm enjoying all of the children. They have such clearly defined personalities, don't they? I think they all have good hearts but need to do some growing up, particularly the way they treat their parents. Sebas, are you listening??

Judy, it's 35 but a cold, bitter wind is blowing and it feels much colder. I'm stubbornly resisting wearing gloves and a hat but a few more degrees and they'll be on snugly!

"Unreality" works for me andy :)

Diana

"I'm glad that Dani and Gabe are back. They've proven they love one another but are their issues miraculously resolved? Does he now have a clear career path and more importantly, is he still sleepwalking??
Diana - good questions and my guess is the answers are "NO." (except that their love for each other has been reaffirmed) There is no way being on a reality show could give Gabe a clear career path.(???) Who knows if he is still sleepwalking? WHAT I WANT TO KNOW is how his depression is doing. Gabe appears improved, but is he on medication? Being on a reality show won't fix it, for sure. Gah.
My telenovela beanie hat is worn out. LOL

Another beautiful winter day here! I will happily take this all winter long.

I cannot wait until tonight.

About 40 deg and clear here in NYC, so no complaints.

I am very much looking forward to tonight's chapter. Diana, I hope you are right, I would love to see something resolved.

Yeah, a lot of kids in this, but they all do a great job, surprisingly. Even Blanquita is OK now. I especially enjoy seeing Lupita, she is a real sweetheart. She's cute, she is very supportive of Temo, she is downright funny with David, and she even gets along with bratty Julio,

:-)

andy

doris, of course you are right. Depression is the root cause of Gabe's problems and the other ussues are just symptomatic of the larger picture. Not sure if sleepwalking is part of that or a whole nother issue.

Lupita is a doll - ITA andy. And yes, even little Blanquita seems to be enjoying her "work" family.

Diana
