By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Random memories:
Augusto's declaration of Gavino's innocence and putting the blame on Joselito appears to be televised nationwide. He nervously tells Gavino's lawyer that he wants that protection. Joselito, aka Blondie, hears about this from Topo, and for a change, appears nervous.
We discover Circe's "plan". The police have been bribed. I was not sure if it was just the one cop who was pressuring Acevedo to confess to murdering Margot Guevara or whether the order came from higher up. Acevedo was given a death threat note so that there was no recording of his dilemma. I thought she made one mistake, but Diego appeared oblivious. She corrected the name of the PI when Diego said it wrong. Why would she know that name so well?
Mateo gave me the impression that, after the transplant, he plans to get even with Isabel. He tried to get poor Ricas to reveal the truth about the false identities, but Zoraida thwarted him by also being awake in the middle of the night.
It appears that Lourdes escaped from whatever hellhole Ramona sent her to. She looked beaten and frightened, but made it home to her parents. Uh oh! Mateo is in the soup now.
Deivid has gotten Gaby's sister safely from Venezuela, and there's a joyful reunion between the sisters. Can't remember the sister's name. But there was one of those significant looks between the sister and Chucho. So maybe Diana's kicking him out of his room and being upset about his working as un huachicolero may mean the end of this particular love story.
Circe and Diego are back to their plan of leaving D.F., perhaps España. Diego rightly has figured out that Jota Jota won't want to let them go so easily. He's asked them for one last trip. Again...uh oh!
Thanks, Novelera. Your summary confirmed stuff I thought I saw. Like Joselito (I confess I've missed him with his loco narcissism) being worried for the first time and the new girl liking Chucho. Wow, Augusto wouldn't even get out of bed for national TV. Something tells me we're close to Diego finding out about Circe killing Eliseo. Isa is standing up to Mateo but I'm afraid for her.
Many thanks, novelera, for your helpful account of some of the important aspects of Thursday's episode. Sorry I couldn't comment sooner, but I've been away all day and evening. Haven't even looked yet at tonight's (Friday's) episode.
As for Thursday, I recall being rather annoyed at Isabel for what seems to me her foolishly high-minded and dangerously impractical notion that she needs to give the Guevara family some specific information about what happened to Emiliano, Camila, and Max so the family will have closure. She doesn't think about how her doing this could jeopardize herself and, especially, Diego. Even if she doesn't care any more about Diego (which I don't believe), surely she doesn't want to do anything that might take her away from her kids and land her in prison. She doesn't seem to be thinking clearly. Marlene tries to get her to consider what might happen, but it doesn't do any good.
And then, to make matters worse, Isabel tells Mateo about Diego and her using false identities. She knows what a [bleep] Mateo is, and still she needlessly tells him about the false identities.
I don't have anything else to add about Thursday. And Friday will have to wait.
OK, here are some things that happened in last night's episode:
Diego tells JJ that the drug crossing he's proposing isn't possible. It's too large. Circe then says "We'll do it."
Lourdes' parents ask how she is and tell her she should see a doctor and perhaps contact the police. Lourdes doesn't want to do this.
Erick tries to stop Nuria from leaving him. He "explains" that Ramona is his boss, and he didn't want to lose his job. Nuria points out that his "boss" gave him a very expensive motorcycle as a gift. Nuria leaves.
Marlene and Isabel see a newspaper photo of the dead Margot Guevara with the knife in her hand. Apparently, this is the first they know of her death.
Mateo points out to Isabel that she left the same day Margot reported her family missing. He also claims that Diego doesn't love Isabel, he's just using her.
Diana tells Chucho that she no longer sees him the same way, and it's best if they end things.
Fernanda tells Salas that she can't put Diego at risk.
Gabriela's sister talks about how awful it was in Venezuela.
In front of the other women, Nuria accuses Ramona of stealing her novio and says, "Erick could be your son." Ramona points out that he's obviously not her son, and she pays him. He's a chichifo, which I assume is some kind of paid sex worker, perhaps a male prostitute.
Isabel takes her kids to see Porfirio before his operation.
Diana confronts Deivid and Chucho and calls them a pair of rats.
Felipa is unhappy at Circe's decision to go ahead with the drug crossing and then leave. She reminds Circe that she's now got what she wanted, she's head of the Mexican drug cartel, she's got Diego, why abandon this plan? I think Felipa was supposed to have an important role in the cartel with Circe at its head. Perhaps that's one reason Felipa is so disappointed?
Fernanda tries to find out from Salas where the Guevara bodies are. I think she's probably doing this for Isabel. I keep wondering why Salas doesn't ask her why she wants to know about this. Instead, he tells her where the bodies are. Dumb dumb dumb.
Diana and Gabriela find Deivid, Chucho et al. distributing stolen gasoline. The women are at a distance from the men. The police arrive. Deivid and Chucho drive off in Deivid's truck. The police follow, shooting at them. Deivid shoots back. The police then question Gabriela and Diana and arrest them. Gabriela is in deep mierda because she's in Mexico illegally and has no papers.
Deivid and Chucho have apparently made it back home safely. Deivid gets a phone call from Gabriela, telling him she's been arrested, etc. Deivid assures Gabi's sister that everything is OK.
Mateo is told to undress for the liver transplant operation. As he's doing so, he gets a phone call, but no one speaks. I think it's Lourdes calling him. Perhaps we'll know more on Monday.
Thanks so much for posting a recap, Juanita. I agree with your comment about Thursday that Isabel is behaving like an idiot. I suppose this is meant to indicate her high moral standards and religious faith in that she believes corpses need to be buried in a certain way. But she's putting everyone at risk.
And a scene that was interesting was when Gabriela and Diana talked at the apartment area where Gaby, Deivid, Diego, etc., live. Diana is justifying her high minded breakup with Chucho over the gas stealing. I don't remember the exact words, but I think Gaby made an impression about Chucho helping his family this way and not being a bad guy. Like Isabel, Diana is a bit too self-satisfied for me. And I believe she was the one who insisted that Gabriela show her where Deivid and Chucho would be later selling the gasoline they'd taken from the pipeline. This caused poor Gaby to end up in jail for being illegal, while Diana was let go because they couldn't prove she was more than an innocent bystander.
I just read in the paper today about two baseball players who had both played in MLB in the US having been killed in Venezuela. They died in a car crash caused by bandits who place objects in the road to cause cars to have to stop and thus be robbed. One of the three persons in the car survived, but the driver of the SUV tried to swerve to avoid the stuff in the road and the vehicle flipped. The thugs proceeded to rob the dead inhabitants.
And the same kind of horrible assailants killed Monica Spear in 2014. She was the star of a novela I really liked: Flor Salvaje. I know there are thieves and murderers nearly everywhere, but Venezuela is a total mess. I find it interesting that Telemundo is highlighting the chaos there.
Agreed. And thank you for the link. I love reading immigration lawyers really digging into this topic.
