At
the scorpion’s nest, Alacrán calls the number from the text El
Chino sent. Beltrino doesn’t answer, but sends back a message
telling Alacrán that he is not going to answer nor is he going to
show up unless he sees Alacrán. After Alacrán reads the message, he
comments that El Chino must think he is stupid…and he isn’t even
sure that it’s El Chino who is sending the messages. As Gancho
looks suspiciously at Mugres, Alacrán gets another message couldn’t
read the message and knows it’s El Chino. As Mugres sweats
bullets, Gancho picks up all the money, throws a bill at Mugres and
tells him he was saved.
In
SA, Barb asks Beltrino what the plan is. Beltrino tells her there is
only one way Lupita will get out of this alive, he is going to have
to kill Alacrán. Barb thinks it’s a horrible plan. Shut Up Barb,
it is a GREAT plan unless Death Chick is feeling playful again.
Beltrino asks what her plan is, but Barb has no idea since she has
never been in these types of situations. If he goes ahead with the
plan, she will not accompany him. Just then, Beltrino gets a message
from Alacrán that he will be in SA that afternoon. Beltrino responds
to Alacrán that if he doesn’t bring Lupita, there will be no deal.
Alacrán agrees to the condition. When Barb warns Beltrino that
Lupita may be hit in the crossfire, Beltrino responds that Alacrán
won’t bring her, that is why he has to kill him. Barb still doesn’t
know why Beltrino has to kill Alacrán, so he explains that if he
doesn’t kill him, Alacrán will kill his wife. You need some visual
aids for her Belt, like stick figures and a hammer.
At
the scorpion’s nest, Alacrán tells Lupita that El Chino showed up
and is in San Antonio, it seems that El Chino hasn’t forgotten
everything…he still remembers her. When Lupita asks if he is now
going to let her go, Alacrán scoffs and tells her not to cry victory
just yet. She should pray that El Chino doesn’t do something stupid
because, if he does, Alacrán will take it out on her.
At
the hospital in Mexico, Javier asks when his father will arrive. As
Alicia replies that he is probably on his way, Beltrino calls her,
but Javier wants to talk to him. When Javier asks when he will be
coming to see him, Beltrino replies that he will be there soon.
Javier then asks if he got him his cap. Beltrino realizes he forgot
about the cap, but tells Javier that he did get it. Beltrino then
asks to talk to Alicia. Alicia asks Beltrino if he is at the airport,
so Beltrino explains that he isn’t there yet. There were some minor
complications that he has to take care of. Alicia cries that she
needs him there, Javier is not well. After she asks if he at least
got the money and Beltrino responds that he has it/her with him, Barb
wonders quite loudly if he is talking about her. Alicia quickly asks
if Beltrino is with a woman, but Beltrino tells her it’s one of
those crazy people who sell lotto tickets. He quickly hangs up before
Barb puts her foot in her mouth again and Alicia can ask more
questions.
Vale
and Juls are in the vehicle with Alirio. Vale tells Alirio to take
them both to the university, she doesn’t want Juls to be alone.
Juls doesn’t want to go with her and reminds her that the cop told
her it would be dangerous to be with her, but Vale argues and insists
that Juls allow herself to be loved. They both get quiet until Vale
apologizes, but Juls thinks she is right, she needs to be loved. Oh
Boy.
At
the company, Mayela goes to Guille’s office. She goes in cautiously
and asks if he liked his surprised. Guille grunts a ‘yes’ but
Mayela wonders why he hasn’t eaten any of the cookies. As she
continues to blab on, Guile looks at her somberly, Mayela wonders if
he is still angry with her. Guille wants her to clarify their
situation, she needs to tell the press that they are only friends…and
SHE needs to do it. Mayela is in disbelief and wonders why it has to
be her. Guille explains that she is the one who gave the interview
and she is the one that is telling the media that they are “novios.”
Mayela thinks that if she retracts what she said, the media will eat
her alive (not a bad thought!). She asks if he knows what that would
do to her, but then (putting on her pity-me-please hat) tells him
that their relationship is what is most important to her, so if he
wants her to go out and do an interview, she will go out right now
and do it. She then gets up and asks for a reconciliation hug. Guille
(dummy) obliges. As they hug, Renata coincidentally stands up and
sees them. (Chick territory marking radar.)
In
his office, Johny sits and looks at the photo he received. He recalls
the first time he received the anonymous note while dining with a
politician and then the second note he found on his car. As he thinks
about the whole situation, Susana comes in since he called for her.
Johny wants her to start following Sanchez-Bueno and observe him in
all types of environments. She can go to his house and watch how he
packs his luggage, interacts with his employees, or when making phone
calls, in other words, he wants her to show the humane side of
Sanchez-Bueno…something to show that he is not just a politician.
Susana keeps her cool and just looks at Johny. When he finishes his
little spiel, she asks if there is anything else he needs. Johny
fumbles his words until he gets up to dismiss her as he tells her
that the idea is to have a better relationship. She tells him not to
worry, after all, that is why hypocrisy exists (you tell him,
Susana!).
At
the production stage, Lucía’s interview by Gerardo regarding her
conversation with Armenta is taped live. Lucía starts by stating
that this interview is not about her, there are many other issues
that are more important in the country. They talk about her interview
with Armenta and the promises Armenta made. Lucía then displays the
document she had Armenta sign to assure that he follows through with
his promises. As she speaks LCJ listens attentively as he walks
slowly through all the reporters toward the big screen TV. Lucía
then remarks that she hopes for a peaceful country and being that the
company is a means of communication, they also have to take
responsibility as constructive agents of peace, justice and the
rights of others, in this case, their newspaper reporters. She also
believes that they have to protect their values which make them the
Carvajal Group. She is going keep a close watch to make sure that the
promises in the document are fulfilled. When Gerardo asks how she can
be so sure that Armenta will keep his word…since he is just a
criminal, Lucía responds that then Armenta would be showing them
that, even as a criminal, he can’t keep his word. She adds that if
Armenta doesn’t fulfill his promises, even his own people won’t
trust him so, in essence Armenta would be doing away with his own
Cartel. She ends by saying that she just wants the nation to know
what the Carvajal Group in doing. Meanwhile, at his home, Armenta is
fuming… Lucía pulled a fast one on him, but his turn will come.
In
the cafeteria, Mayela tells Vicky that she has a problem…Guille
wants her to announce that they are not ‘novios.’ Vicky thinks
that she can’t do that, it would be disastrous for Mayela since she
has thousands of followers. Mayela knows, but she has to do it and
she needs Vicky’s help. Mayela plans to blame the media and say
that her words were manipulated. Vicky still thinks it will be
scandalous, so Mayela explains how Vicky can help by giving her
professional opinion. I need someone to throw under the bus Frenemy,
gurl.
In
his office, Guille is working when Renata enters and tells him that
she called Castillo to tell him that they would be bringing his
meds…and she came out looking like a fool since Guille had already
delivered them. When Guille admits that he took them earlier in the
morning, Renata feels hurt because she has been completely discreet
and helping with all the situation, and, just like that, he shoved
her aside like nothing. She considers that a low blow…another low
blow. Guille tries to explain and apologize, but Renata interrupts
and hands him her resignation. Guille again tries to speak, but
Renata interrupts by thanking him, then walking out. No No No no
no, wait, ...
At
the production room, Jaramillo congratulates Lucía on her historic
interview. As she hands him the document for safe-keeping, Johny
approaches, so Jaramillo leaves. When Johny sarcastically tells her
that she did very well and that she seems to becoming more famous by
the day, Lucía notes that he seems to be bothered by it. Johny
assures her that it doesn’t bother him, but they have more
transcendental things to worry about...like the packages they
received. Lucía agrees.
At
Cami’s house, Cami asks LCJ if he did “it.” LCJ can just
imagine the looks on the faces of those two when they find out that
León has returned from the world of the dead. Cami reminds him that
is what happened…literally. LCJ relishes in the thought that they
will never be able to sleep in peace again…until the moment arrives
to give the “coup de grâce.” Cami asks if he is talking to León
or a sicario, When LCJ wonders if this could be the reason some turn
to being a sicario, Cami retorts that vengeance does not suit LCJ at
all, he needs to think hard about why he was brought back. LCJ thinks
it is very clear why he was brought back…to seek vengeance and
finish with all of this. LCJ then asks Cami why he called him, so
Cami explains that he is interested in finding more transmigrants.
LCJ reminds him that Santos wil be arriving the next day, but Cami
points out that Santos is only one…he wants to find others so he
can do more research. LCJ snaps back that what Cami proposes is that
he wants to walk the streets looking at people’s necks. Cami then
shows him an ad that he wants to publicize…a simple question, “Who
were you in your previous life?” Any transmigrant who reads it will
understand its underlying meaning.
In
SA, Santos tells Beltrino that he is ready to take him to Mexico, but
Beltrino needs a few hours to take care of a pending situation.
Santos in not happy since Beltrino rushed him to get everything ready
and now he is the one who has to wait. As Santos tells Beltrino that
that is not the way he works and starts to leave, Barb notices
Santos’s tattoo and tells Beltrino that he is one of his own.
At
Cami’s house, LCJ wonders if Cami really expects to find more
people like him with the ad, he doesn’t think it will work. When
Cami asks why not since it is a serious thing. He reminds LCJ that
when he first came to his house, LCJ mentioned certain key things and
Cami believed him. Cami thinks it’s worth a try. When LCJ brings up
Santos again, Cami reiterates that Santos is only one case. When he
adds that Karla was also one solitary case, LCJ insists that all he
wants to know is how much longer he has. Forty six episodes. Happy?
In
SA, Beltrino looks at Santos’s tattoo and shows him his own. Santos
thinks that they are just of the same race. When Beltrino asks what
it means, Santos has no idea, it could just be a pact with death.
Beltrino considers that and wonders if they will die again. Santos
questions if Beltrino really thought he would live forever, then adds
that the only sure thing in life is that they will die. When Beltrino
replies that he only wants to know how much longer he has, Santos
isn’t sure…every case is different. Just then, Beltrino gets a
text message. When Santos sees the expression on Beltrino’s face
after he reads the message, Santos wonders if it is Death
calling….because Death appears to him all the time, it even talks
to him.
Walking
along the sidewalk in Mexico, Johny tells Lucía thai they need to
find out who sent the photos (so how many times does he have to
repeat that before Johny internalizes it...or is he waiting for a
divine revelation?). As they walk, a couple of ladies congratulate
Lucía on her interview. Johny interrupts the ladies and tells them
that they can continue their praises later. Once alone, Johny hopes
that this new fame doesn’t go to Lucía’s head since they need to
be more concentrated than ever. Lucía assures him that the photos
are on her mind constantly, she wonders what they can do. Johny
thinks that they need to be more alert and any critical conversations
need to be only between them…no phones or emails. When Lucía asks
if there are no clues as to who could have sent it, Johny replies
that security is on it, there may even have to be some dismissals.
For now, he is having the other board members investigated. After he
tells her that she shouldn’t give any more interviews, he add that
she should also say ‘thank you’ to LCJ. Lucía points out that
LCJ is a mere chauffeur, but Johny insists that they can’t trust
anyone. Har Har Har Johny Boy.
At
Armenta’s house, Riquín doesn’t understand
why Armenta would sign the pact. After Armenta responds that he knows
what he is doing, Riquín tells him that when he speaks, he speak for
all of them and what he is saying is affecting all of them. Their
hands and feet are now tied, what are they going to do when they have
to do a big job…and how are they supposed to respond to the
massacre that they just had? Armenta argues that Riquín should stop
the drama, they have to show that they have power in the country and
are not just small-time hoodlums. Going to take a pretty big paint
brush I’d say. They have to be more political...it’s for
everyone’s best. When Riquín wonders if Armenta’s actions are
more due to his interest in the blondie, Armenta barks, scratch
that, tells him to settle down, and that when he meets his future
sister-in-law, he will change his opinion. Lucía will be his wife,
she just doesn’t know it yet (Surprise wedding of the century?)
Outside,
at the university, Vale tells Juls that she got interested in
journalism because of her father, but she is actually really liking
it. After Juls tells Vale that she would have liked to go to a
university, Lucho walks up from behind and argues with Vale for not
answering her phone. He then asks is she is going to bring the sticky
gum with her to the university. When he tells the ‘mugrosa’
(dirty one) to get her own life, Vale gets upset and tells him off,
she never talks to his friends like that. They continue arguing until
Vale storms off after Juls.
At
the company parking lot, Keila thinks that Renata is acting on
impulse, she will never find a job like this one. Renata, however,
doesn’t care about the type of job or the pressures that come with
it, what she wants is a job where she is respected. As she slams down
the trunk of the car, Guille calls her, but she refuses to answer
despite Keila’s pleas to answer the call. Meanwhile, inside his
office, Guille is about to leave to go look for Renata when
Maye-La-Intrusive arrives and sits him down as she tells him that she
just took care of all the rumors about their relationship, in less
than five minutes the whole world will know the truth. When Mayela
sees that Guille is still upset and asks what is wrong, he tells her
that Renata quit. She asks why Renata left, but Guille is too
stupefied, so she tells him to cheer up…Renata was only a secretary
and tomorrow he will get one exactly like her. Guille is still
non-responsive, so Mayela tells him she has to leave and invites him
to the theater that night. Guille bluntly responds, “No.” When
she insists, Guille agrees to think about it. After she leaves,
Guille tries calling Renata, but gets no answer. Can’t wait to see
the ‘repair’ Maybell is so enthusiastic about.
At
the university, Vale catches up to Juls and ask why she is leaving
without saying good-bye. Juls is upset and doesn’t want to be
anywhere right now, they just kidnapped her mother and then Vale’s
bf acts like a jerk. Vale apologizes and adds that she was just
trying to distract Juls from her problems…she knows her bf is an
idiot. Juls then apologizes also, she shouldn’t act that way with
Vale. Vale knows she messed up and suggests that they go elsewhere
together. Juls doesn’t want to be there, and Vale doesn’t want
them to be apart.
At
the company, Eva talks to Alacrán on the phone. He tells her he is
going to Texas, but will be back that same day. She wonders if this
is another of his “jobs’ and worries because she doesn’t want
anything happening to him, she wouldn’t be able to handle that.
Alacrán smirks and is glad that she finally worries about him. When
he asks if that means she loves him, she replies that she does worry
and cares about him. She then tells him to take care because she
neeeeeds to see him.
Mateo
is concentrating on his work when Susana comes in. After Mateo tells
her that she can not tell anyone, he confides to her that he is
working on something on his own—a profile on Alacrán. Susana
assumes that Eva knows nothing about this, Mateo assures her Eva
knows nothing—she would kill him. He has found that the Cartel is
more organized than they thought. Each member of a Cartel has a
specific role, and in the case of the Cartel de la Sierra, Alacrán
overlooks all the money laundering. When Susana asks how Alacrán
does it, Mateo tells her that he plans to meet with an informant who
will give him all the details. Susana wonders aloud just how much
money is laundered. Mateo says that it’s more than they can
imagine…the informant will give him all of that information. What
Mateo knows for sure is that big companies are involved with the
money laundering, and he is dying to find out who they are (careful,
Mat, you may be just dying PERIOD!) Susana is afraid of what is
happening, but Mateo is more afraid of not doing anything about it.
After Susana tells Mateo to be careful and reminds him about Gastón,
Mateo assures her that all of this is for Gastón, he wants all the
information gathered to be known…and that Gastón’s murderers pay
for their crime. Mateo then changes the subject and asks Susana how
things are going with Sanchez-Bueno. He laughs when she replies that
she has a very interesting challenge, she needs to figure out who is
dumber, Sanchez-Bueno or Johny. Mateo thinks it’ll be a close race.
In
his office, Johny seems to have already aged, and is still obsessing
about the photo when he gets an idea. He asks his secretary to
contact the chief photographer that León and Lucía contracted for
events.
In
SA, Beltrino assures Santos what he will resolve his situation as
soon as possible. Beltrino thinks Santos should be more
understanding, especially now that they are more like brothers.
Santos is glad to know that there is someone else who has
transmigrated. When Beltrino asks what that means, Santos explains
that the soul goes to another body. Beltrino comments that the body
he got is crappy. When Barb asks if there are others, Santos tells
her that he is going to Mexico to meet with another one who is with a
doctor who is investigating the phenomenon. Santos invites Beltrino
to go with him, Barb thinks it’s a good idea…maybe the doctor can
remove all the demons within them. When Santos adds that they are
offering good money, Beltrino considers going since money is always
good…and maybe among the three of them, they can figure out what
this is all about. Santos adds that they can even start a club. He
then tells Beltrino that he will wait until the next morning, if
Beltrino isn’t ready, he can forget about his trip.
At
the company, Lucía is in the elevator and sends off a message to LCJ
when Eva walks in and greets the new star of the station. When Eva
wonders if Lucía wants her own show, Lucía thinks that is a great
idea. Eva has no doubt about that, being the creeper that she is,
that is what Lucía is after since being famous is a form of power.
Lucía is glad that Eva is so familiar with creepers. Eva then give
Lucía a piece of advice—if she wants fame, more money and more
power, being with a narco is not the solution…things with those
types never end up well (uhmm, are you listening to yourself, Eva?)
Lucía responds that when she needs advice, Eva will be the last one
she calls…and when she has her own program, Eva can be her first
guest and answer the question that everyone asks—why, if she is so
beautiful and has her eyes so bright, is she so bitter?
In
the batcave, LCJ sends an anonymous email to the three board members,
Barreta, Cardena and Requeña, telling them that they need to review
all the financial transactions made after León’s death. He reminds
them that any strange or illicit financial transactions may have them
end up in prison. The three members meet immediately. Cardenas thinks
that they are making too much of the e-mail and points out that it
was sent anonymously. When Barretos worries that all three of them
received the same e-mail, Cardenas adds that the message is very
vague. Requena thinks they should leave it to administration to
investigate, but Cardenas suggests that they send it to the
technicians so that they can trace the email. Barretos prefers to
respond to the sender, and Cardenas agrees. LCJ reads the message
that they will not consider anonymous messages and that he should
show his face. LCJ responds, “Well, worse for you and your
associates. I doubt that that would be the attitude León Carvajal
would expect from his beloved collaborators. Investigate for your own
good…like he did last year…”The members don’t know what to
make of the messages.
In
SA, Barb is in the car as Beltrino enters with a rabbit in a small
carrier. Barb is bewildered as to what could be going through
Beltrino’s head. He explains that as he was not able to help his
wife and daughter, the least he could do is make sure Lupita isn’t
killed.
At
the Carvajal home, LCJ is still in the bat cave and watches as Vale
and Juls arrive. He listens as they enter the house and Vale tries to
make Juls feel better. Juls feels like she has a knot in her stomach.
Vale offers Juls a drink so she can relax, but all Juls wants is to
have her mother there. When Vale suggests that they call the cops,
Juls reminds her that if she talks to the cops, Alacrán will kill
her mother. LCJ wonders what he should do.
At
the company, Barretos tells the other members that they should
evaluate the situation to determine how they should proceed, he
reminds them that the company is going through a tough time
especially after León’s death. Cardenas thinks they should leave
things as they are, this could be someone’s idea of a joke.
Barretos thinks that whether it’s a joke or not, they should put
their own interests aside and be loyal to León. Requeñas agrees
that they should investigate the e-mail. As Cardenas hypothesizes
that Eva could be behind this just to try to find some dirt on Lucía,
Lucía walks in and asks who it is that is trying to make her look
dirty. The three board members are surprised to see her since no one
announced that she was coming. Lucía clarifies that she asked not to
be announced.
