Amar a Muerte, 1/30/2019, Episode 61: 'When in the Course of Human Laments'..or If they will do it FOR you, they will do it TO you.

Guille arrives at Renata’s place with luggage in tow. When he asks if he can stay there because he had a fight with Eva, Renata says, “Of course” and asks if it was serious. Guille responds that he has decided to cut all economic ties with his family and start from ZERO. He asks for Renata’s opinion, so she tells him that is very serious. Guille doesn’t think so since he had been considering it for quite some time. When he tells her that he did consider going to a hotel (you left out that you burned your credit cards, Guille), Renata tells him she’d kill him if he did that. Guille smiles and adds that she has no idea how happy he is to sleep with her again. Believe me Guille, I … understand … completely...
In her bedroom, Lucía sits by herself drinking. Silvina comes in with the chills pills she had asked for and warns her against mixing the pills and alcohol, but Lucía just wants to be left alone.

At Cami’s house, Cami questions how far LCJ is going to go. When LCJ responds that he will go as far as necessary, Cami reminds him of what Lucía said―that Johny is a dangerous guy and can do anything no matter how insane it may be. LCJ assures that this time he will be fully prepared…since last time it was different, he was a defenseless, old man. If Johny tries to kill him, Johny will be the one to end up dead. Cami can’t believe what LCJ is saying, León was not a murderer. LCJ heatedly retorts that nothing in his life was what it appeared to be, Lucía, whom he thought couldn’t hurt a fly, turned out to be a murderer, his daughter, who was heterosexual is now a homosexual, and Guille seems to not have liked anything that he gave him, and Eva is the chief of the house and orders everyone around. (Yeah, you picked a bad time to die.) After Cami reiterates that LCJ is not a murderer, LCJ assures him that all he’s going to do is defend himself, if Johny comes after him and tries to kill him, LCJ will kill Johny…and it will be self-defense. Cami then tries to calm down LCJ and reminds him of Maru and the attitude she had at first. Then she finally understood what her mission was in this life. Cami tries to continue but LCJ interrupts and tells him that he can try to understand the theory, but LCJ wants to put it into practice. LCJ stomps off and tells Cami he has had enough.
Put a drip tray under YOUR butterfly buddy.

At the bar, Beltrino is very drunk and calls over the waiter. He gives him a tip and starts talking about reincarnation and how he didn’t used to believe in it, but now he is proof that there is life after death. As the waiter looks at him uncomfortably, Beltrino continues that now that he has gotten accustomed to it, he is told that he has very little time left. The waiter looks back and forth trying to find an excuse to get away, so he grabs a tray of drinks and tells Beltrino that he’ll be back in a while.

At Barb’s house, Barb is asleep and dreams of Death Chick sitting before her. Death Chick tells her that humans have a false impression of her, they think death is bad or the end of life, and that is not so. When Barb asks why death follows her and if death is going to take her, Death Chick replies that it’s not her time yet, but she needs Barb’s help, she wants to clear her name. Barb doesn’t understand why this is happening to her, so Death Chick adds that, in case she hadn’t realized, this is a dream…and dreams are also a way of sending messages. Barb sits up suddenly realizing that the woman is Death. Whoa, DC wants a BFF?

At Cami’s house, Johny bangs on the door calling out for Jocobo (LCJ). When Cami opens the door, Johny races in and asks where he is. Cami reminds him that he is in his house and demands a little respect. As Johny shouts out Jocobo’s name, LCJ casually appears and asks if Johny came to kill him. Johny denies wanting to kill Joco, he wants Joco to tell him to his face why he took advantage of Lucía. Joco sarcastically chuckles at how quickly information changes. When Johny accuses Joco of misleading Lucía with his lies, Joco chuckles again since Johny thinks he forced Lucía and asks Johny if he would like some details. Joco gets closer, and when he quips that, if he has time, he can give him a few details, Johny smashes his right hook into Joco’s face and Joco returns with his own. When Cami tries to separate them, Johny takes out his pistol. Cami shouts that they should both shut up…this is his house and it must be respected. After Cami threatens to call the cops and orders Johny to “GET OUT!!” Johny retorts that he will leave, but only for the respect and love he has for León (Puke! Puke!). Joco tries to go at him, but Cami stops him and tells him to calm down.

Johny warns that this will end for now, but warns Joco to leave Mexico. When Joco counters that he should be careful with the power of words and suggests that if he leaves Mexico, Lucía will go running after him, Johny tries to go at Joco again, but Cami stops him. Johny warns them that he is going to find out what they are up to. He asks where this guy came from who supposedly was León’s friend…they are probably after León’s inheritance. After Joco wonders if Johny is looking in the mirror, Johny turns and stomps off. Cami tells Joco to stop, it’s enough…he wonders if Joco noticed that Johny was drunk and armed. But we saw Joco drunk with a gun and he could not hit an ass at ten paces.

In her bedroom, Lucía sits on her bed still looking very distraught as she looks at the two bottles of chill pills. She grabs both bottles and the glass of water. As she is about to pour some pills, she gets a call from Servando. She answers and immediately asks, “Why are you calling me, damned filth? Do you not understand that I want nothing to do with a narco? I can’t stand you! Disappear from my life! Leave me in peace, please! Do you not understand that I am not going to sleep with you…even if you were the last man on earth! I hate you! Understand that…I hate you!” Lucía throws down the phone and takes a handful of pills. Meanwhile, Chulo asks Servando how his call went. Armento is pissed since that is the first time a woman hangs up on him. Chulo chuckles and as he gives Servando a drink, he feels sorry for Lucía…she doesn’t know what awaits her.

At Silvina’s house, Lupita is in bed with Juls trying to get her to open up, she can feel her sadness from far away. She asks if Juls had a fight with Vale. When Juls replies ‘no’, Lupita presses on, but Juls won’t say a word, so Lupita tells her that she knows Juls has a right to her private life and to have secrets, but she is there for her to protect her, take care of her, and listen to her. After Lupita asks Juls to trust her, Juls turns away, so Lupita adds that secrets tend to drown a person. Juls finally speaks….and tells Lupita that she wants to go to sleep. Lupita hugs and kisses her hoping that she rests well. Afterwards, Lupita goes and thanks Pancho. Juls definitely has something going on, but Juls didn’t want to tell her about it. When she tells Pancho that she will go get him some blankets, Pancho tells her that he only came for his things. He is going to stay with his Aunt Me-La-Gross, he wants to do things right. He explains that he has been a friend to her only because that is what she wanted. If he stays there, it will only complicate things. (MORE) Lupita appreciates his honesty.

At some club, Sergio is having drinks with a female friend who tells him she will drive because he has had too much alcohol. When he tells her that she is his best friend, the girl wonders about Lucho and why they got into a fight, so Sergio shakes his head and tells her that Lucho is an idiot who pretends to be a macho, but is really a spoiled brat…when things don’t go his way, Lucho makes a big fuss. Sergio goes on about how he is fed up with Lucho and that he doesn’t blame Vale for leaving Lucho. He then mentions how both Vale and Juls dumped both him and Lucho…and now they are together. When the girl’s jaw drops, Sergio motions to keep quiet about it. IE: 'Tell everybody, and if you can, put it in the campus paper.'

At Renata’s place, Renata wonders if Guille’s decision was too hasty, but Guille thinks it was the most intelligent decision he has made in a long time. (Sleeping with Renata, brilliant, with her and her cat, maybe not so much.) When he adds that he isn’t giving up his inheritance, Renata reminds him that his job at the company was part of his inheritance. Guille, however, wants to prove to Eva that he can find a job without using his last name. After he adds that he can rent a suite, a house, or an apartment, he remembers that he has no credit cards, so it may be somewhat difficult…but he’ll see how he can get some money. Renata tells him not to worry, he can stay there as long as he needs to (but her expression says otherwise). Guille goes to her and hopes she doesn’t feel pressured into letting him stay, so Renata assures him that she luuurves to be with him. He then tells her that as soon as he gets a job he will get his own place, meanwhile he will help out with bills and costs of living there. Renata’s worry is that she has never lived with a boyfriend, Guille hasn’t either but thinks it’ll be great. Crap, Kitty Cat, start looking for another place to live.

Vale and Juls are talking on the phone. After Juls can’t believe what Vale told Eva, Vale reminds her of their promise. Just then Vale gets a notification on her phone. When she opens the message, she is dismayed when she sees “From Princess to Tortillamaker.” She quickly ends her call with Juls citing that she has to respond to a message.

Mayela gets to Lucas’s studio and gets accosted by a reporter who asks her to confirm that she has broken up with Guille. Mayela doesn’t want to talk about it, it is private. When the reporter questions why her previous announcement about her relationship with Guille wasn’t private, Mayela insists that she doesn’t want to talk about that either. The reporter thinks she is having a hard time accepting that Guille left her for someone else. Mayela snaps back that it is difficult for the reporter to stop meddling in people’s lives. Mayela loses it and threatens to sue them for defamation of character, so the reporter turns to the camera and announces that Mayela has had a violent reaction. Mayela really loses it and pushes the reporter and the cameraman. While the camera rolls, Lucas grabs and pulls Mayela away while the reporter states that based on Mayela’s violent reaction, the relationship with Guille is definitely over.

At Renata’s place, Guille and Renata are in bed trying to sleep when the cat climbs up. Guille starts fidgeting and itching, he thinks it’s because of the cat. When he goes to the restroom and tells Renata to take the cat out just in case, Renata hrumphs and makes a face telling the cat that this is, after all, her bed. Did I hear a little thunder in the distance?

Johny arrives at his house. He places his weapon in a drawer and gets a drink.
Susana is at her home looking shocked as she views some documents on her computer. She calls Mateo and tells him that she went to see Sanchez-Bueno and while she waited for him she saw some documents and took pictures of them. When Mateo asks about the documents, Susana prefers not to talk about it over the phone, it’s very serious. Mateo offers to rush over, but Susana prefers to wait until the next day (uh-oh! Famous last words?). Mateo agrees and warns her not to tell anyone else.

At Johny’s place, (no)S-Bueno’s assistant tells Johny that his candidate is very worried. When the reporter went to interview (no)S-Bueno, (no)S-Bueno had to leave the office to take phone call. The concern is that later after the interview, (no)S-Bueno realized that there was a document with very sensitive information. If the reporter saw it, they could be in deep doo-doo. The assistant notices that Johny is distracted, so Johny shares that he is going through some personal problems, but he will take care of the reporter. The assistant reiterates that if the reporter saw the documents, they are all in serious trouble…and that includes Johny.
At Cami’s place. Cami reiterates that LCJ’s life was in danger. LCJ doesn’t think Johny would have killed him with Cami as a witness…and that Cami is exaggerating since Johny is smart and LCJ knows what he is doing. When Cami asks what LCJ plans to do, LCJ replies that he knows how far to pull on the string though he walks away when Cami questions how far that will be.

At the Carvajal house, Eva enters her bedroom angry and frustrated, so Mateo asks why there was so much yelling. Eva replies that she was arguing with Vale because of her supposed relationship with Juls. Mateo doesn’t see a problem, so Eva expounds that Vale is not a homosexual, she has always had boyfriends…she is just confused. Mateo argues that being a homosexual is something very personal and wonders why it matters to Eva. Eva retorts that it matters a lot because her family cannot have yet another scandal…she can just imagine what people will say. Mateo counters that society can think whatever they want, they are in the 21st century and Eva can’t be thinking like that anymore. When Eva remarks that she is the only one that worries about the family’s reputation, (What?) Mateo brings up what Eva did when she was at the university. This does not fare well with Eva who points out that that was a long time ago and isn’t important, she is now married and respected. They continue arguing until Eva insists that she will take care of getting that idea out of Vale’s head and tells Mateo to butt out.
In her bedroom, Vale cries after reading all the comments on the posting she received. Meanwhile Juls is in her own bed crying also as Lupita watches her from the door and worries.
Barb calls Beltrino and tells him she now knows who the lady is who appears to her in her dreams and to Beltrino…she needs him to come over immediately, it’s important. Barb prays while she awaits Beltrino’s response.
At Renata’s place, Guille and Renata are wide awake in bed listening to the cat meow. When Guille asks if it’s like that every night, Renata sternly tells him ‘no’ because the cat usually sleeps in her bed. Guille reminds her that he is allergic to cats and itches all over. Aggravated, Renata points out that if the cat isn’t allowed in the bedroom, it’s going to continue to meow. (It is definitely Thunder, something's rolling in) Guille also gets aggravated and questions who the boss in the house is if the cat meows until it gets its way...it’s just spoiled! Renata clarifies that the cat is not spoiled, it is just accustomed to sleeping with her. Guille thinks that the cat should sleep outside, it will eventually get used to it, darn it! He then finds a cat snack in the bed and remarks that that is too much! They then fight over the blanket because they are both cold. Welcome to Luuurve, …..everyday version. Yikes, lightning too. !
Beltrino manages to arrive at Barb’s house despite his drunken stupor. When Barb tells him that it is Death who appeared to her in her dreams, Beltrino laughs at the thought of believing everything in dreams. Barb is very serious and tells him he needs to try to understand and have an open mind. After Beltrino tells her that he has opened his mind, Barb tells him about her dream and how Death wants to improve her image. Beltrino thinks Death should stop taking people…that’ll fix the problem. Beltrino then asks Barb if she asked Death about him. When she tells him she didn’t, he wonders about turnabout being fair play since he is always looking out after her. He insists that she ask Death now, but Barb explains that things don’t work that way, Death appears when she wants to. Beltrino realizes that if what Death told him the previous day is true, then he only has a short time to live. Beltrino panics, so Barb tries to calm him down, as Death Chick watches, and tells him that he is misinterpreting things, he is not going to die. See?
Next day―
Silvina brings coffee to Lucía who is sitting at a table. When Silvina tells her that she is not looking well and suggests that she stay home, Lucía responds that she wishes it could be that easy because, even with all the chill pills she took, she wasn’t able to sleep. Silvina warns her to be careful about taking so many pills, but Lucía asks her not to scold her for today. Just then, Eva calls out to Silvina, so Lucía asks Silvina to stop Eva from coming down or make her disappear from her sight. Silvina quickly goes to Eva, but first greets LCJ and offers to get him some coffee. After Silvina leaves, LCJ approaches Lucía who sees his busted lip. When he tells her it was Johny, she gives him an ‘I told you so.’ When she reiterates that he should leave, LCJ insists that he won’t leave without her. Lucía somewhat agrees, especially after last night when Servando called. She was more than a little rude with him and told him clearly that she doesn’t want to see him again. She just wants to disappear and get away from Johny and Servando, she just wants to be with LCJ. Lucía then tells him, “Let’s go.”

In the former bat cave, Eva shows Mateo the room, Mateo never thought León would have anything like it. When Eva asks who else has been in the room, Silvina replies that Lucía and LCJ were there, Lucía wanted LCJ to try to get into the computers, but he couldn’t even turn them on. (The man who types without glancing at the keyboard. Clever ...LCJ) Eva will send someone to take a look at the computers and orders Silvina that no one should be allowed into the room without her authorization. After Mateo tells Eva that he has to leave for work, she reminds him to leave the laundering problem to her. (And Alacran?)

At Renata’s place, Guille is sitting on the couch with a towel over his head. Renata sits beside him and asks if he is sure that the allergy was really because of the cat, he has been there several times before and he had never had that reaction. Guille thinks it could have been the pillow since the cat sleeps on it, he thinks they should look for another place. Renata can’t believe Guille wants her to take her cat out of its house, the cat, after all, is her family…she is not going to get rid of him. Guille thinks they could come up with a compromise. Renata offers to get Guille a new pillow and suggests that Guille get some allergy shots. As she makes her point, Guille looks back at and points to the cat who is meowing. When Renata tells him that he will eventually get used to and like the cat, Guille tells her to look at her cat…who has just peed in his open luggage. Guille is disgusted. Thunder, lightning, torrential rain, a full blown luuurve storm is on us.
Vale sits alone by the poolside when LCJ approaches and asks how everything is going. Vale responds that everything is not okay, people can be very cruel. LCJ sits beside her and asks what’s wrong. Vale feels all alone, she doesn’t have friends and Guille left the house...he had a fight with Eva and left, she should do the same. LCJ points out that their father broke his back to provide this house for them…and she has an older sister whom she can go to for support. Vale shakes her head and describes Eva as authoritarian, aggressive…Eva doesn’t help her any. LCJ then comments that life is full of difficult times, one needs to confront them. Vale knows she has to be strong. As she looks at LCJ, she thanks him and tells him that she doesn’t know how he does it, but he always shows up at the right time. LCJ returns her look and suggests that it is quite early to be drinking…that might make her problems worse. When he recommends that she look to her friends…or maybe a female friend that she might have, Vale smiles. LCJ asks her to turn around, he takes her glass and asks her to tilt the bottle…until all the liquor spills out. Vale seems relieved to have gotten rid of the liquor, she thanks LCJ once again…and states that she has no reason to hide herself. LCJ asks her to close her eyes, and after she does, he leans over and kisses her on the forehead, then leaves before she opens her eyes. Daddyhood 101.

Susana goes into Johny’s office…since she was summoned. Once sitting, Johny asks if she’s done anything on her own…like looking at documents she shouldn’t be looking at. Susana denies it…that’s not her style. Johny hopes it’s not her style because looking over documents that are not to her benefit could be “delicate.” When Susana asks if there is some area that a candidate wouldn’t want made public, Johny is not in the mood for Susana’s mind games and adds that one should know how to pick their enemies because a bad decision could bring very negative consequences. Susana thanks him for his advice and leaves. Hrumpf...the Intimidator.
At Renata’s place, Renata has already washed everything in Guille’s luggage. She apologizes because her cat had never behaved like that. She then shows him some pills he can take for his allergy and offers to go buy them, but Guille can buy them since he has to go out for an interview. Renata whines because she hasn’t even sent out her résumé. When Guille asks if she has nothing to make for breakfast, Renata admits that she hardly ever eats there…she eats different types of tacos that are very delicious. Guille isn’t impressed and goes because he has to stop by the grocery store. Guille goes to his car and is quite shocked and frustrated to see that his tires have been stolen. How many fun times are you going to remember burning your plastic money?
At the company, Susana confides in Mateo that she has a lot of information, but she didn’t mention it to Johny…it’s her ace in case things get sticky. (Viewerville hopeos that she has made copies and put a note in her safe deposit box) When Mateo warns her that things could get dangerous, Susana is surprised that he would say that since he is getting into something worse. Mateo smiles as he remarks that that is what they both like about the job…it’s extraordinary.
In her bedroom, Lucía rushes as she packs and is on the phone with Rosalba, her secretary. She is not going into the office. When Rosalba reminds her of her appointments, Lucía tells her to change them. Rosalba insists because she has already changed an appointment once, so Lucía tells her that she is indisposed…if anyone asks for her that is what Rosalba should say…especially to Johny…she is not feeling well, she is in bed and no one is to bother her until tomorrow. (By then you will need NASA to get 'hold of me.)

Does someone tell ,e how many more days or weeks we have of Amar and what is going to replace it? Thanks
And.... might there be something really good coming down the pike that is not totally Narco related? I will sorely miss this telenovela. I love it.

Good morning! Wake up, Patio, it’s gonna be a good day despite the rain and cold weather we’re having in the RGV.

Kirby, excellent, excellent, excellent!!

The Guille/Renata scenes were really cute and a nice break from the gloom and doom.

I also enjoyed seeing MayeLaFreak freak out. That reporter sure regained her composure real quick!

I took a good look at those punches LCJ and JohnyBeBad gave each other. The sound was good but the timing was way off so Meh...

If Lucia thinks she was in hot water with Servando, she’ll be boiling after telling him off the way she did.

More laters....
Have a good one, Patio!

AMOT, we’re approximately 6 weeks from the end of this tale. I was surprised that they are already announcing “últimos capítulos “

I think it has a total of 87 episodes.

Good work, Kirby.

I hope Guille has a decent amount of money in the bank because it will be difficult otherwise. Burning the credit cards was impulsive and immensely foolish, but he can get new ones if he calls the credit card companies and tells them he lost his wallet.

Furbabies come first! It is perfectly normal for cats to sleep with their human parents. Renata's cat (Why doesn't he have a name?) is sensing encroachment on his territory. He loves her and doesn't want to share her with another male, even a human one. However, the amount of urine shown is real licence on the producer's part; this kitty is too small to leave that much.

So what did Eva do in college? They opened the door, as we say in US courtrooms, so now they have to spill the frijoles.

Are the pills and the booze an omen that Lucia will accidentally OD? We will see...

Good Morning. Thanks.
Guille and Renata were hilarious. Now to back up a little bit, Renata was hardly able to cope, and looked one breath away from the suicide prevention hotline when she still had a job and still had Guille but she had simply been moved down the hall a few doors.

NOW that she has set the hook and poor Guille has thrown away everything for her, he finds out that his food bowl is filled after the cat has eaten. Meh, bachelorhood ain't so bad, you just have to know how to work it. Don't show all your cards.

And why is Johny not in a cell next to Mugre's rotting corpse after tromping into Dr. Camillo's house flailing around with a loaded gun? Or at least having another fun chat with Columbo..er Montilo?

So Lucia is running away with LCJ? Are they taking the Family Cadillac SUV, or LCJ's three dollar VW Rabbit he stalked Johny in? Will he whisk her away only to drop her off over at Servando's? Does he have a sense of humor or not?

I really hope Susana survives.

And Death Chick needs Barb's help with her image? What? Did somebody write some shit about her on Facebook? She just needs to get Susana to redo her makeup for her. She is in the running with Naru for 'Most Improved' award.

Maru...it is early

Rgv Chick: Thanks for ENDING update! So it's actually about 5 weeks---Thank goodness I don't have to prepare for my withdrawal depression yet!!

I have not seen any "coming soon" announcements yet for "Amor" replacement but then again, I fast forward with barely a glance so I may have missed something!

I was really impressed with Renata's acting in that kitty/bed scene--quite realistic!! I'm thinking that is her cat in real life!
Urban---your urine comment--hysterical!!

2-3 days ago, I was ready to ask you guys whether they had replaced the Susana actress because she looked so seriously different...but apparently, according to you, Kirby, it was just a make-over???

Apparently, carrying a (regular ol') firearm openly or concealed is not forbidden in Mexico. Well, according to the writers and directors of these Mexican telenovelas, it is TOTALLY FINE! I might add that when I spent a few months in Mexico way back when, I never traveled in a car where there was not a gun in the glove compartment.

AMOT

UA, the cat's name is Tlafoyo. I looked that up and it's actually a Mexican dish that a made of a very thick masa--it's like a very thick corn tortilla stuffed with beans, cheese, chicharones and other ingredients.

Kirby, Death Chick probably wants everyone to know that she is not as bad as everyone thinks. She gives people second chances; and from waht is portrayed by this show, not many people figure out why they are given a second chance and blow it so she comes in an "punishes' them with pain and bleeding butterflies until they really mess up and their privilege is completely taken away...so she is seen as wicked/evil when what she is actually doing is giving people a second chance to do something better with their new lives.

I hope SUsana survives too! She and Mat are getting into very murky waters.

AMOT, do you still have all those guns? :-)

AMOT, don't quote me on this, but I think AAM will be replaced with Por Amar Sin Ley: Season 2...just guessing...

Furbabies: Yes, there is NOTHING like trying to impress someone with your undercover work and having the Chihuahua trying to impress your calf with his. Not NOW !

Kirby: AMOT, do you still have all those guns? Oops, Kirby I did not state that clearly! I meant that whomever I traveled with had a gun in the glove compartment. I did NOT drive in Mexico (thank goodness) so I was referring to companions :-) I am talking over 30 years ago but I doubt much has changed. In the late 60s, early 70s, I witnessed a shooting in Acapulco and when I reported the incident to hotel so they could call the police, they told me it was surely a crime of passion, common in the area and not a police issue. So laws can certainly vary state to state and country to country--even today!!!

Rv Chick: I HOPE your UPCOMING NOVELA guess is correct. I loved Amar Sin Ley. So refreshing a change in the TN world.

Yeah, I knew, I was just having fun with you. It is shocking how many people now here in the US carry guns, they are just sneaky about it.

Crime of passion, not a police issue? So who do you call? Death Chick? OK, makes sense.

Por Amar Sin Ley with Kimmy 2 Rams? Woof woof

RGV Chick: What's going on with Susana ?

Hola Señor Kirby. Wow, a lot happened in this episode,REALLY a lot! and you got it all. Great detail, quips, fab screen shots (you got the super dramatic moments) and a snarky title. Cookin' on all cylinders mi guapo.

Particularly loved the figurative thunderstorm progression from distant thunder to definitely thunder to thunder and lightning!

Yep, the Renata-Guille romance is in trouble. He is out of the comfortable cocoon of unlimited money, safe neighborhood (no one around to steal your tires) full-time housekeeper who fixes breakfast, lunches, dinners, snacks and NO CAT.) Tornado about to roll in and blow this relationship out of the water.

Another cocoon destroyed. Lovely Valentina, rich, adored, accepted by all those friends of her "nivel" at the university. Now the subject of salacious, nasty gossip for love of Juliana, the lottery ticket hawker.

Very difficult Realities coming for both of these dear but cosseted child/adults. How they navigate these harsh new realities will be pivotal, obviously.

I do like how la Muerte wants to get people to see her in a different light. Not sure if Barbara is the one I'd choose to be my PR person, but we shall see. I would certainly like to see la Muerte in a kinder light since two more seemingly healthy women I know, both a year younger than I, passed away suddenly last week. I'm hearing distant thunder moving closer myself!

Rgv Chick. Is it Tclafoyo or Tclacoyo? Anyway, I think he's going to win out over Guille and I like how he's defending his turf. You go kid!

Thanks Kirby. Great fun.

Kirby, I loved the way you wrote Renata and Guille, they thunder like night made the scene even funnier.
I'm actually relieved that they are confronted with real-life couple problems, like getting used to day to day life, once the honeymoon stage is over. Of course moving in together too soon is never a good idea, especially when forced by circumstances, but the guy having a bad time getting used to the girl's pet is as realistic as it can get.

As opposed to them, you have Jul&Val, whose story is written in a more dramatic, telenovela style way - the jealous ex, the stalking, the forced break-up etc... Add a pregnancy scare (Val and Lucho?) or a forced wedding and we're all set.

Eva's youthful days... could this have something to do with Alacran, too? I seem to remember seeing a scene (or reading about it over here) where it said that Eva and El Al have been "going steady" ever since she was a college student, but she had to keep things on the down-low because he was a bad boy/ future narco killer. Did Leon try to save his daughter from the bad seed, only to fail miserably?

I actually found Jacobo and Lucia, my two favorites, the least interesting part about the episode. The fighting was not that great, in my opinion. Lucia's pill situation does make me wonder, too.

As for Susana, seeing how she and Mateo are getting close, I'm guessing she has her days numbered. The moment she told him that they would talk the next day about the very important stuff she found out, I WAS SURE that she won't live pas midnight. Maybe she's next in line to become part of the Moth Family.

I am loving this tn. The story is definitely different and the "normal" little touches (like Renata's and Guille's cat spat) only adds to the enjoyment. Some of these are more subtle, like the bruise on the back of Lupita's hand (ostensibly from the IV during her hospital stay), but they add a later of realism that offsets some of the beanie moments and keeps me watching.

A layer of realism, not a later

I do wonder about Leon's relationship with Eva. It doesn't seem like Jacobo has or CARES to have much to do with Eva. Maybe he just doesn't like her (though a parent would be hard pressed to say or show that!!!!) I suppose he realizes there is not much he can say or do when it comes to Eva. And, yes, I too am anxious to know Eva's backstory. I think Adriana's thought about a long-time relationship with Alacrán seems quite possible but then, Jacobo/Leon would know that unless it was always kept secret, right? In any case, it will be interesting to see if there is any part of Eva that is redeemable. I'm praying that Mateo can quickly and safely "move on!".
AMOT

Break my heart, they can't let anything happen to Susana, she just got a fresh coat of paint which really becomes her.

Wait, was it not the next day when Johny called her in to threaten her?

Yes, she did live through the night which is the most critical time after telling doorMat she would talk to him the next day. She had on the really pretty geometric dress when she called doorMat and then next day when Johny Scumbag threatened her in his office she was like cas Friday with a shirt and jeans with the right knee ripped out.

Whew !

Forgot to mention, Kirby, loved your wisecrack about LCJ needing a drip pan under his moth tat. Yeah, if he keeps on like this, Johny won't have to kill him, he'll hemorrhage himself to death.

This time I'm not going to wait to be last in line to get a comment in. (That means I haven't read any of the comments so far....) Thank you for your ever so clever word crafting some fun out of an otherwise really depressing episode. It was hard not to enjoy. You were nice to the cat. Thank you.

Now I'm worried about all kinds of folks who might meet their end long before AAM wraps up. Susana is next on my list.

More later. So much to read. Guess I need more coffee. It is only 17 F. when it ought to be 40 F. dagnabbit.

JudyB--I forgot about the screen shots. I agree. Fabulous. Thanks Kirby.

Adriana--Love your quip about the Moth Family.

AMOT--It hasn't been too long since we learned that Leon forced Eva to leave a career in art she was pursuing with studies in France. She complained to him that she'd already been accepted when he forced her to stay and go to .. probably business school. She's resented it ever since. I don't know how Jacobo is going to fix that--especially if he plans on running away with Luci.

So Lucia is running away with LCJ? - I don't think they are going to make it out the front door, on foot. No time to call an Uber. Fab will bar the way and Johny will meet them right outside waving his gun. (I inadvertently typed "BUN" but corrected it.

Death Chick needs Barb's help with her image? - What a hoot. DC, except for her make up, already looks way better than Barb.

So what did Eva do in college? YES! I wanna know, too.

I think we're heading for a Luci OD, too. Maybe she gets a look at those flocks of birds swirling, sees the light, comes back---but then what? She's nice to her step-children, turns herself and Johny in, kisses Jake goodbye as Montialla waits at the gates to his jail? What else has she done which is really, really, bad to deserve a butterfly tattoo? We've only seen two ways for them to go...the Santos way, just dead as a doornail, or the Maru way, gets to live out another lifetime.

Susana did make it overnight. However, I'm not sure what is going on with Eva telling Mateo she'd take care of the laundering. Has he actually told her what he's found? Can't remember. Too focused on Johny and Jake.

NOTE to Mel--
Just saw your late comment a couple of episodes ago. Why don't you post it again here or tomorrow night. Maybe someone can help with your question.

Late to the party. I was babysitting at my daughter's house all day.

I did not see this episode. Kirby, thank you for another great recap plus screencaps.

My friend's cat once tinkled in her visiting mother's suitcase. Not nice.

The thermometer on my deck says 18 degrees..and it will drop.brrrr

Kirby--I also meant to tell you how much I love your screenshots!! Thank you. Picture is worth a thousand words---so true!!!

ANITA --Thank you for clueing me in about Eva's potential career in ART. I definitely missed that, somehow--happens when I'm watching my DVR recording at or after 12am!!! But still, that doesn't totally explain her pathetic bitterness. I meant she has so much revenge in her heart---just seems like a bad person at heart.

Regarding Eva the frustrated artist, in Ramon wasn't the same actress interested in art and her parents discouraged it?

SusanLynn, I can't remember about the art interest in Ramoon, but I sure liked her better when she couldn't talk. Writing 150 words a minute on that tablet with just her fingernail. :-)

Kirby....yes, she was very sweet and very silent. Eva is a 360 from that character.

It's lucky that for most of us, that we have seen this sweet character like Eva in Ramon for months on end, and then, within just a couple of episodes of a new TN, we have already reversed our opinion and no longer connect her with the old one. I love the fact that this happens to me..... although I have on rare occasion run into the situation when a TN starts with the same character I'm still watching on the other TN and the two do NOT MESH! That is very annoying.
But if at least some amount of time has elapsed between the 2 telenovelas, I can make the transition pretty well.
Our brains are truly complicated and very flexible!!! I'm grateful for that.

AMOT: I just did that with Guille. I saw him in Ramon and Despertar Contigo and he was hateful in both so much that I even hated him in the Trivago...Hotel...commercials. I only forgave him when he started being nice to Renata.

If I'm not mistaken he was a jackass in Lichita and La Malquerida too, but I didn't pay him much attention in those.

Forgive and forget, right before Death Chick takes me out.

Kirby...I cannot remember what character he was in La Mal. I was too focused on the guy who killed Marcelo Cordova and then married his wife and pursued his daughter. Now there was an interesting show.

That show was so messed up and there was so much outcry about it they made three different endings.

From Wikipedia: "The telenovela has three alternative endings, due to the criticisms and comments that were generated after the relationship between the characters of Christian Meier and Ariadne Díaz."
