Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 87, Tuesday, January 15, 2019; Pancho is ready to propose marriage; and Daniela in danger of miscarriage

We open with what we saw in the previous show, with Susana telling Eugenio that she loves him.

At the Foundation, Vicente tells Axel he has to go back to Africa. He offers that Axel can come too, temporarily. Axel says there is nothing for him there except, well, his brother, his mother, his grandmother. At this point, Linda walks in. She politely greets them and walks off to the children. Axel wistfully looks at her.

At Pancho’s place, they get ready for a little game with Susana and Pancho sitting back to back. The children quiz them on their favorite things and each has a different answer except for their favorite place to vacation which is the beach.

At the foundation, Linda has story time for the children. Ari comes to join her. The moral of the story is to be brave and choose the right path for your life.

Frida tells Eugenio he has to be more careful and also tells him that the whole family is there for him. But he feels alone right now because Blanca is gone. She tells him to cross his arms across his chest whenever he feels lonely.

At Gabe and Dani’s place, he has their house set up with three little beds. It appears they are playing “Goldielocks and the Three Bears. Gabe is dressed up in a tux and a blonde wig to resemble Goldielocks. Gabe does his rendition of the story to entertain Daniela. He fixes them a spaghetti dinner and they eat it in the same fashion as “The Lady and the Tramp.” But Hermoso barks with jealousy

Cassandra and Clarisa dine with Guido. As the sisters excitedly talk about becoming aunts, he has this flashback of him buying something that doesn’t appear good at all. Then he mentions that they will eat “pasta to die for.” [What, is he poisoning their meals?] The sisters talk about a toast together as they are happy for them to be together as cousins. Then Casanda mentions Guido’s parents’ deaths, but Clarisa stops her and Casandra apologizes for bringing it up. [Since Guido had such a surprised and strange look on his face, I am wondering if he killed his parents. He has this psychopathic look on his face, doesn’t he?]

At Susana’s house, both she and Pancho discuss their families. Susana wants to get to know his children much better and Pancho wants to get to know her boys better too. She tells him that Axel finally called her “mama” and it’s been over 20 years since he has done so.  But she spoke to soon. They start to kiss and here comes Axel saying, “Susana!” She explains that they weren’t doing anything wrong. But he reacts maturely and doesn’t react badly. Pancho and Susana inform him that their younger children approve of them together.

Some days later, Gabe and Dani are at a pregnancy class together. They speak more love to each other and Gabe just fawns all over Dani and the plans for the triplets.

Massimo talks to Guido about plans for the Mezcal business and mentions he would like to market it to widows who are in pain from losing their husbands. He wants to investigate the market for that. He also mentions that he wants Gabriel’s help in the business. Guido looks like he is typing things down, but then the camera shot shows that he just typed, “Gabriel is an imbecile” or something like that. [There is something very wrong with that guy!

Massimo goes to back room and calls Imelda on the phone. She talks with him a few minutes and then decides to play “hard to get.” She is looking at a photo album of pictures of herself when she was much younger.

Eugenio wheels himself in and looks at the pictures and tells her how beautiful she was. She notices a string tied around his finger and she wants to know what it is for. He explains that that it is to remind himself to bake some pastries for Daniela.

Massimo next calls Crisanta. She decides to play “hard to get too.” Guido comes in and says he has the perfect name for the new Mezcal: “Beloved Widows.”

At the pregnancy class, Daniela goes into massive pain and Gabe calls for an ambulance and she is transported to the hospital.

Diego brings chocolates to school for Temo. Ari watches from outside as the two boys hug. Ari looks depressed and Frida says, “Why are you crying?” He answers, “Because I am not brave.”

Polita sells bakery goods to some ladies but also gives out business cards on behalf of her son Ari’s business. Then Audifáz walks in and tells her that he will be working for Tulio and that he misses her.

Daniela is admitted to the hospital and is wheeled on a gurney back to a room for examination. Linda comes to join Gabe in the waiting room. Then Massimo and Guido show up. The doctor comes out and it is not good news. Daniela is in danger of a miscarriage. She is bleeding.

Pancho tells the children that he wants to give Susana an engagement ring. They are very surprised. Frida says it is kind of soon. Pancho says they are getting older and doesn’t want to waste time either. Julio is concerned as to where they might live. Sebas is okay as long as they are all together.

Susana and Catalina talk about their personal lives and Susana mentions she is a little bit afraid of marriage.

The doctor tells Gabriel that they are doing all they can and will put Daniel through various tests and will do ultrasound. Gabe starts to cry. Daniela is panicking back in the room when the doctor tells her she might be miscarrying and wants her to calm down. Unfortunately, it does not look good.

Kept it short today again. I found there was a lot of dialogue that went nowhere. I finally figured out who the actor is who plays Massimo--it's the same guy who played Omar in "La Candidata". I hated him in "La Candidata" but I like him in this show.

Thank you Cynthia. You did an excellent job of relating all that happened in this nail biting episode.

Wonderful lines including "Then he mentions that they will eat “pasta to die for.” [What, is he poisoning their meals?]" and "Axel says there is nothing for him there except, well, his brother, his mother, his grandmother" (AXEL = LOSER).

Appreciate your sharing such critical dialog, none more so than "Since Guido had such a surprised and strange look on his face, I am wondering if he killed his parents". That would sadly make sense, wouldn't it?

Niecie had mentioned the possibility that the poisoned drink might cause Dani to miscarry several days ago. I posted I didn't think the writers would "go there". How many times can I be wrong? Dani's screaming at the end when the doctor said she could miscarry was terrible. I'm holding onto hope here as the possibilities are just too tragic to comprehend.

"Julio is concerned as to where they might live. Sebas is okay as long as they are all together". It's nice to see all the kids getting along. What a change!

I wish Susana had just told Axel to shut up when he called her name when she and Pancho were kissing. I wish his father would drag him with him to Africa. Or anywhere...

Let's hope Dani's story gets resolved with the pregnancy scare over. I'm missing the "glue" of Blanca, Robert and Julieta. Things are chaotic and out of sorts.

But your recap was on point Cynthia. Thank you so much.

Diana

Cynthia, thanks, for the excellent recap and always enjoyable red commentary.

Diana, it would be super creepy if Guido were a murderer already. I particularly miss Blanca who can usually cut through the nonsense.

Gabriel has never been a favorite character of mine, but he stole the show for me last night every time he sang “Don Ricitos de Oro” ( Sir Goldilocks). I could not help laughing.

Thanks Cynthia. Perfect screenshot of our villain. Gah, don't like miscarriage stories. Having had one, this does not qualify as entertainment for me. But your recap was excellent. Thank you.

Thank you, Cynthia. This show gets darker and darker, and I don't need tragic storylines right now.

Judyb, like you, I had a miscarriage 6 months after my first baby died. Many women have miscarriages and the feelings of hopelessness and loss are indescribable. How about some happy storylines for a change.

Susanlynn, hopefully this will just be brief, manufactured drama but the pregnancy will continue. I remember that after I became pregnant again, my doctor told me if a miscarriage threatened once more that I would have to take a certain medication. Later, studies showed that this medication caused problems in the babies that resulted. Luckily, when miscarriage DID indeed threaten, I chose prayer instead. Which would come across as totally nuts to many people, but it worked for me.

My heart goes out to both of you Judy and susanlynn. Unfathomable losses.

Judy, I can't think of anything more powerful than prayer. Or hope.

Diana

Jarifa, I'm smiling because after he fell in love with Dani, Gabi quickly became one of my favs. He shone last night... and I'm glad he made you smile!

As Judy noted, hopefully we rea just being scared and Dani will be all right.

I do have to say though that I hope things lighten up. Not sure why writers seem to feel tragedy pulls people in when it seems to have the opposite effect. Drama is one thing, but this is stomach churning.

Not sure why Clarissa and Cassandra are still in this. They have lives, what about doing something with them? Clar dodged a bullet with Axel but there must be some good guys out there (?)

Where is Gabe Soto? C'mon Gabe. We need you.

Diana

Surprisingly, the drama is not weighing on me so much with this one because most of the plots are pretty short and then we are on to a new adventure or calamity.

Thank you, Cynthia, for the recap and your extra comments!

I think they are overdoing the depressing drama right now. A little bit is fine or the show would be Pollyanna-ish, but they are going too far for me.

I liked Gabriel very much in the first season, but now I think he has been mostly moody and silly in this season. "Over the top" keeps coming to mind.

And with all the other changes and people leaving the show, did they really have to bring in Guido right now? Sheesh!

Thanks everyone! I agree, I do not like the storyline where Daniela might miscarry. It strikes a chord in some of us who have experienced miscarriages or the death of an infant. When I had my miscarriage, it was a very traumatic experience. So that part is very depressing. I hope they remedy this by saying Daniela will be okay, but with strict bedrest or something.

JudyB and Susanlynn, I’m so sorry you experienced this. It’s a very traumatic experience that stays with you forever. You heal, but the pain of it never goes away.

There is something “not right” with Guido. I smell psychopath!

Jarifa, I miss Blanca too!

Thanks, Cynthia.

Gabe was a hoot as Don Goldilocks. That's exactly the silliness I like in Mi Marido.

Then, Dang. We have loco Guido and no one notices how creepy he is. Yuck. I too hope this story line ends quickly, like tonight.

Cynthia, yes, there exists an invisible sisterhood.

Andy, we all need some Pollyanna in our life. (I loved that movie.)

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia!

Since I dislike clowns, the Santa Muerte ( or whatever that was) faces just plain creeped me out. 🤡

Whoever said "PeeWee Herman" nailed it. This guy is creeping me out. Whatever he is buying and secretly giving people reminds me of a true crime book I read ages ago, about a woman who was slowly and increasingly given arsenic by her husband until the level in her body was beyond lethal toxicity. Ew. She survived, miraculously.

So Vicente is leaving. I guess he served his purpose as a plot propeller.

I do not like extensions of telenovelas, and this one already feels so ... contrived. ~sighs~ Whatever happened to the new Telerisa idea of keeping the, short in duration? Oops, it's called backsliding.

Cynthia, “ psychopath” sounds like it could fit.
