Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 1/7/19 Capítulo 81 Endings, Beginnings, A Time Jump! Oh My! It's an Extension!

Sebas has his first appointment with Tavo.  Tavo understands that Sebas tried to drown himself. Why? Sebas thinks back and says it was because he hurt a lot of people.  Tavo says the most important thing is to learn from situations.  Did Sebas intend to hurt anyone or not? Sebas shakes his head.  What did Sebas learn rom the accident?  Sebas learned that fire is dangerous and he has to think about thinks before doing then. Tavo nods.

Blanca has good news for Dani.  Julieta is coming out of her coma.  Dani asks how Hermoso is.  Well, he has been wanting to eat everything, including Blanca's journal.

Tavo asks Sebas what is the thing that Sebas needs to do the next time he is in a pool.  Sebas answers that he needs to swim so he doesn't sink so he can live.  Tavo draws a larger conclusion: When we have a problem that seems to have us trapped, we have to swim.  We cannot stop fighting. Sebas smiles.

Susana tells Robert that she is the first to recognize  the huge mistake her son made at the campsite but she has to support her son. Robert looks like he is having a hard time listening.  Susana informs Robert that Sebas is talking to Tavo.  Robert hopes that Sebas can think about it all and get better. Susana thanks him. Robert says that their families are dealing with very strong conflicts. They have to have faith that they can overcome them.  Susana says this complicated situation just might help Robert fulfill Canuto's wish that both Córcega families unite.  Robert just nods. Susana gets a phone call from Diana. Sebas has been expelled and Diana has been fired.

Lupita comes home from  school with Julio and informs Pancho that Sebas has been expelled and Diana will no longer be at the school.  Pancho feels bad for Sebas. Temo volunteers to watch his siblings so Pancho can go see Susana but Pancho says that Susana thinks it is better he stay away right now.  They have a big López family hug.

Polita, Ari, Frida and Blanca go over her first video. Blanca is not too sure about it. Everyone else are happy with it as it is.  Ari is ready for Polita to debut as his manager. They are going to be interviewed. Blanca tells Ari that everyone deserves to love and be loved. Blanca agrees and so does Hermoso.  Blanca hopes that "Escandalosos's" (Scandalous's) parents come for him soon or he'll be  an "Exiliadoso" (Exiled). They all laugh.

Gabriela and Dani are back on the beach celebrating the success of the quinceañera and dreaming of the future.  Gabriel thinks they are going through a real good time. They are fighting for their love, their business, through treatment and loving each other like never before. He especially mentions like last night. Dani says the only thing they need is their own castle.  Gabriel finds their sand castle on the beach. He asks how many children she wants. Dani says one is enough considering how expensive raising children is and since their businesses have barely started. They miss Hermoso.  Dani and Gabriel play with the sand castle imagining in what rooms  they, their baby and Hermoso would stay.

Dave prays in the  hospital chapel with Robert to Our Lady of Guadalupe as Julieta is regaining consciousness.

**************** TIME JUMP: WEEKS HAVE PASSED***************

Susana asks Sebas how his therapy is going. He says it is going fine but is eager to go back to his school.  His still misses Dave. It has been weeks since he has see him.  Susana tells him to just be patient and that things are going to get better.  Julieta has gotten out of the hospital and also got a super job offer.  Susana wants to see her and also bring the other half of the Canuto tree.  She invites Sebas to come along.  Sebas is excited to see Dave but wonders if Dave will want to see him. Susana says they cannot give up.  The important thing is that Julieta is better and their family has calmed down.  She advises Sebas to not be afraid, to say what he feels, and to be brave. He promises. They love each other.

Linda is all in a rush to get to the vow renewal ceremony.  Axel is in bed. She leaves. He stays. Nobody looks happy.

Crisanta joins them and Sebas and Susana.  She likes what she sees. Susana misses Axel.  Crisanta tells her that the time has come for Axel to become independent and launch his own boat  on the sea. Sebas asks his mother if she misses Pancho.  Susana asks him why he is asking her this. Sebas says it is because she said that she loved him and they say that love just doesn't disappear overnight. He asks again if she still loves him.  Susana answers yes,  she still loves Pancho.

Pancho is getting the twins ready. He puts lemon juice on Julio's hair to control it.  The last time he did that, Julio says it attracted flies.  Lupita wonders if Susana and her family are coming. Pancho doesn't think so.  Imelda and Crisanta don't get along at all. They are like oil and water. Julio says like dogs and cats.

Diego asks Temo if he is going to the ceremony.  Since Temo is not interested in having any more quarrels with Imelda, he is not going.  He would not be welcome. Diego knows that Temo's relationship with  Ari is complicated but emphasizes  that his is not. He can make him those tamales that Temo really likes. . . . He loves Temo and he wants Temo  to give him a "chance."  They could be very happy together.

Polita and Ari are talking about her doing an interview as his manager in the hall.  She is not sure because she is very nervous about the idea.  They run into Audi who says that it is ironic that they are going to a celebration of marriage when their own marriage is  more broken down than ever.  He goes on his way.

Gabriel out did himself decorating the Córcega house for the ceremony.

Dave asks Lupita if they will have a wedding like this someday.  Lupita would love it but Dave would have to invite the whole López family and they are quite a big bunch. Dave rolls his eyes and says he will even have more family. Pancho tells them to cool it because they are way too young.

All of the guests are seated at Blanca's. Fernando is there too. Gabriel calls for everyone's attention.  He tells them that this ceremony is a "favor" that he and Dani are returning in exchange for the wedding that Julieta and Robert gave them last year.   They are here to celebrate the "Opa's" love.  It is an example for everyone. Gabriel starts the music  and Robert and Julieta come down the aisle together.

The couple addresses the guests.  Robert talks about how he found the best woman to share his life with. Julieta says she found the best man but not only that.  Due to the fact that he had a family now she does, too.  It was totally unexpected but very much needed. They all know what they have to do after the ceremony and that they are leaving tomorrow but now they are they are going to celebrate their love and this new opportunity.  Blanquita blurts out "mamá" and  Julieta hears it for the first time. Everyone applauds.  Robert and Julieta have their own ceremony and vows with the symbolism of water, candles, and seeds.  Robert and Julieta think back upon their romance and their life together.
They tell each other that they love each other and no matter what they will always be together.  They kiss. Gabriel presents them with a portrait of their family.

Catalina shocks Imelda, Blanca and Eugenio by announcing that she and Tavo are "novios".  Imelda calls her a cradle robber and goes on about how young Tavo is.  Catalina tells her they love each other. Imelda just has to point out that when Catalina gets older, Tavi will leave her.  Tavo angrily responds and  tells Imelda that of course that will not happen.  Susana and Sebas arrive with the Canuto tree.  Susana  is there to deliver the part of the tree that belongs to them.

Later in Julieta and Robert's room, Susana tells them that she knows they have a lot to organize but she had to show up and face them.  Susana says how happy she and Sebas are that Julieta is well. Sebas really wants to see Dave.  Susana says that Sebas has been thinking really hard about what happened and is in therapy. Julieta guides Sebas over to Dave. Susana says to Sebas to tell Dave how he feels.  Sebas admits that he knew the accident was his fault because he didn't pay attention to what Dave said. Dave looks up.  Sebas tells Dave that he is the only real friend he has and he loves him a lot. Sebas didn't want to hurt anyone.  Sebas starts to cry. He prayed every night so Dave's mom would be okay.  He thanks God that he cured her. He needs  them to forgive him.  He falls to his knees and starts to beg.   Robert gets him back on his feet so as not to humiliate himself. Julieta tells Sebas that what he did was bad but she knows it wasn't his intention to hurt anyone.  It just got out of control.  Robert reminds him that fireworks are nothing to be taken lightly. They are dangerous and can cause irreversible damager.  They know that Sebas didn't do it out of wickedness and they see how he is suffering. Julieta tells him she is forgiving him and leaving it all in the past.  Sebas asks Dave if he will forgive him, too.  Dave forgives him and they hug.

Susana thanks Julieta and says she is also there to say good bye and to congratulate her on the great opportunity their company is giving her.  Susana acknowledges that she learned a lot from Julieta. She became her example as a mother and as an executive. Julieta admits to having learned a lot from her, too.  They hug. Susana wishes her nephew Robert all the best of luck in New York. She is sure they will triumph.

Robert and Julia address the whole family for the last time.  Robert says that heir family is going to be separated for a while but their hearts are going to be closer than ever. Julieta adds that she  and Robert got two huge job offers in New York City.  Robert will be able to fulfill his mission of helping a lot of children and she will be able to grow as an executive. They feel like it is necessary for them to take these positions abroad so eventually they can get their house back and to assure they can give Dave and Blanquita the best life ever.

Robert says he is the same Juan Pablo Córcega, the same little boy, who disappeared from his family when he was four and who found them thirty years later. He loves them more than ever.  Julieta explains that she was a woman who did not want to get married, have children let alone  inlaws and even more family through marriage, but life has shown her that family is the most valuable thing we can have. She thanks them for everything.

Blanca gives them a small chest as a gift telling them that this will remind them that there are people who love them and are always waiting for them.  Robert opens the chest and there are red sweaters that Blanca knit for each member of their family.

Julieta gives her opinion how in the end this is how life is.  It freezes in infinity the moments, the instants with the people who give meaning to your existence because time doesn't stop.  Days go on. Cycles end.  Plans change. The only thing that make things eternal is love. So, no matter where we go, we always return to the family. Julieta and Robert kiss.  Dani starts to throw up and runs out. Julieta continues that their life here isn't ending.  It is just beginning.

Dani washes her face in the washroom. Gabriela asks if she is okay. She  comes out and tells him that they need to see the doctor like today. They smile.

Blanca tells the remaining family that Dave will be staying with them for a few days until Robert, Julieta and Blanquita are settled  in New York.  Then Blanca will bring Dave to New York. It will be Blanca's first trip outside of Mexico. Everyone is excited.

Later, the doctor tells Dani and Gabriel that their  trip to the beach with the sea, the change in altitude, temperature, etc.  did them some good. Dani is pregnant.

Way back at the end of September a little after this second season of "Mi marido" had been on the Las Estrellas network in Mexico for less than three months, Juan Osorio (the producer) announced that the second season was going to be extended. This was due to the phenomenal ratings it was consistently delivering. The only problem was several of the actors had other professional and personal commitments that had to be honored. Two of the actors were Zuria Vega and Daniel Arenas. For that reason, the Coopers are going to New York. Supposedly the Coopers will be in contact with their families and there was some talk of them coming back towards the end of the extension but who knows. I can only report what i have read. I will not comment on any of the other actors involved because I will not be a novela spoiler.!!!! Yes, there will be some new faces like Gabriel Soto as RgvChiuck informed us. So, sit back and enjoy. This should be an interesting ride!

I will comment on the content mañana.

Oh Jarifa - this was marvelous.

I was exhausted last night and sadly fell asleep as soon as this started. I cannot believe I missed such a pivotal episode!

Excellent title and "They have a big López family hug" made me smile.

"Escandalosos's" (Scandalous)" and "Exiliadoso" (Exiled)" were greatly appreciated.

"Robert says he is the same Juan Pablo Córcega, the same little boy, who disappeared from his family when he was four and who found them thirty years later". Still tugs at my heartstrings.

So Sebas is forgiven. I'm glad.

Dani is pregnant? So happy. Can't wait to see Gabi when he finds out...

I've said many times that Daniel Arenas is the heart of this show and I really can't imagine it without him. That said, there are enough splendid actors to keep this going and keep it interesting. Looking forward to Gabe's arrival.

"Diego knows that Temo's relationship with Ari is complicated but emphasizes that his is not". Well said. While Temo's choice seems apparent to me - Ari's does not.

Thank you Jarifa for writing this and making me feel I didn't miss a word. Your work here has been incredible.

Diana

I agree Diana, Jarifa's recaps fill you in on everything. Often I don't feel a need to watch since I'm up to date on all the doings.

And Jarifa, thanks for the explanation on why they are sending Robert and Julia off to New York. Although that seems to be a favorite "career destination" in telenovelas (also "shopping destination" for the rich) I certainly wasn't expecting that and was like "Whaaaa?" Makes sense now.

My favorite line from the recap, and evidently the episode also, was:

Blanca hopes that "Escandalosos's" (Scandalous's) parents come for him soon or he'll be an "Exiliadoso"

They have been having fun with that doggie's name. And oops, I was waiting for Daniela to become dizzy, and she did the other thing-- threw up. I had neither of those symptoms during my pregnancies, but I do know a lot of gals who were severely nauseated.

Happy episode with love and forgiveness reigning all 'round. Works for me.

Thanks Jarifa! We had ferocious winds last night. About knocked me over after I left a restaurant where I had dinner with a friend. Crazy.

Jarifa, thank you for your recap and explaining why Julieta and Robert are leaving town. It all sounded alike an end of series speech. Extending it makes me nervous because I cannot recall one that ever went well.

Between juggling between a hockey game and the Cemson/Alabama game on TV last night, and being out of the house all day today, I likely won't get to watch my recording of this episode.

Why was Diana fired? I missed the reason....not enough caffeine in me yet? Another actress who could not extend her contract? Hopefully Hugo can financially keep things going for them.

It was inevitable Gab & Diana would get pregnant. This could provide us with some much needed light comedy, if done right. Gabe might even have comic sympathetic symptoms.

Clemson, you blasted autocorrect. 👿

Diana and JudyB, I have so enjoyed the Hermoso the dog name play, too. The writers have done so well with their wordplay as well as with the rest of the script. Julieta’s comments were so heartfelt. I am looking forward to some new characters to mix it up. There are plenty of strong characters to carry this on.

doris, Diana fired because of the firework accident on the school sponsored camping trip. Doris, best luck with your team. My Bears were eliminated but did so well beyond anything I expected this season. Ah, Yes, the evils of auto correct.

It is sunny low forties but windy. No complaints here. It is January and no snow. Well, I am off to see if I can get into a photo contest and then breakfast!

More later.

Great recap, Jarifa!

I'm hating the fact that Juls and Rob are leaving, but in RL, that would be the best thing. They do need the money and maybe the time away from family will make them stronger.

I noticed Dave's bio father was at the ceremony; so glad he was invited.

Dani and Gabe preggers! YAY!!

Thank you, Jarifa. I also appreciate the information on why Robert and Julieta are suddenly moving to NYC.

I have been wondering something...is there a reason for Blancas unusual wardrobe?

OT..Judyb...schools had a two hour delay around here due to a wintry mix here last evening. However, if it goes up to 47 as the weather guy predicts, I have to go out on errands..groceries, gas, bank before getting the grand girls off the bus at 2.55. The temperatures are supposed to drop into the 30s and nighttime into the teens plus high winds later this week. #hatewintermoreandmore

I actually had time to watch this over lunch. Yayyy!

What a sweet "goodbye" for Juli & Rob. I cannot imagine Mi Marido without them because, as others have already said, they are the heart of this show. It was interesting how Julieta was devoid of makeup and had her hair pulled back, off her face. Hair changes always signal a new etapa in telenovelas, so looks like the writers know the rules.. Top bad Jabba the Hutt, Audi, and Not-so-Linda have extendable contracts.

Will Gabe Soto's character be even more family? Must see TV!

Thanks, Jarifa. Excellent recap. Glad you've got the inside scoop on Julieta and Robert. I was figuring the show would follow their adventures in "New York City" and we'd still see them. Yikes, the actors are taking a break! It'll be interesting to see how the show handles Dave and Blanquita sans parents.

Dani says one is enough considering how expensive raising children is and since their businesses have barely started.

Okay, finally I am going to officially forget Season 1 and the fact that Gabe’s family is super-rich.

He can make him those tamales that Temo really likes. . . . He loves Temo and he wants Temo to give him a "chance." They could be very happy together.

So Diego is following the old adage that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach?

RgvChick, it was good to see Fernando at the party. I wish they would have done more with that character. I like him.

Susanlynn, are you talking about the shawls that Blanca seems to be wrapping around herself lately? If that is what you are referring to, I think she looked better without them.

doris, it will be must see tv for me!

Niecie, it has always been very odd that Gabriel has NO money when we know his family was very wealthy. Did his father not budge on cutting him off? Did Gabriel cut himself off because he wants to prove himself? I don't remember this ever being addressed adequately either. It is one of those loose ends that pops up and annoys me every once in a while.

BTW, I loved the little chest with all of the red sweaters. What a tear jerker!

IIRC , Gabriel’s father cut him off financially when he refused to continue in the family business.

Winters are tough Susanlynn. My hands freeze when it gets down to 40 degrees. But try to remind myself that my forebears are northern European and I must have the genes (somewhere!) to get through this.

Thanks, Doris. I was hoping, I guess, that he had changed his mind.

Thank you for a great job, Jarifa. Sorry I've not been around much but I have been very busy.

This almost seemed like a season finale with the wedding and all the goodbyes. It feels like a whole new show will be starting.

We are supposed to have a presidential speech tonight, but I do not think Univision is preempting? I have no idea. All I heard was 9:00 Eastern and will be on all major networks.

Assuming the show airs, I will only be doing a short bullet point recap. I'm working on a project this week and have a conference to speak at this weekend.

Jarifa, thank you.

My favorite character in this TN has to be Hermoso el Nombreoso.

Niecie, Jarifa, and doris., about Gabriel's "poverty": Yeah, his father did cut him off, but then they reconciled. Gabi was also successful in the restaurant business, he even thought of opening his own restaurant and taking some staff with him, especially his assistant/maitre d'/whatever, Danilo.

Gee, you guys have been here long enough that I just assumed you all had TN beanies...

:-)

andy

Cynthia, since we did have an episode on Xmas they can surely skip the address.LOL

Andy, “nombreoso” Another good one.

"Nombreoso" is perfect, Andy. 👍🏻

Andy..I think that years ago someone here knit actual beanies for a few folks. Judyb might remember.

I think it might have been Emilia.

Diana

Diana, yes, I think that it was.

Yes, Susanlynn and Diana...it was our dear Emilia. She knit lovely ones for so many people. Mine was a beautiful aqua.

I am so glad that caray caray let us get this novela and also La gata in English and then I could translate ithem in Swedish. Thank you very very much. Do you think that some of them can be translated in English at the same time as they show them in Spanish??

Regards,
G Dahlgren from Sweden

PS. I´m sorry that we never can see a project from soup in Mexico like these in Sweden just on youtube.
