Previously: Lupita was talking to Juls about
the man she saw at Vale’s house and telling Juls he was not her father. (Your
Father has gone back to his home planet, Juls)
At Silvina’s house,
Lupita continues to try to convince Juls that the man she saw at Vale’s house
is not her father. The man has her father’s body, but he’s not El Chino; his
name is Jacobo Reyes. When Juls asks how she knows, Lupita confides that LCJ
(León/Chino/Jacobo) told her when he went to drop off some things that Sra.
Silvina sent them when they first moved there. They were both surprised. Juls
doesn’t think that what Lupita is saying makes sense. Lupita agrees, but he
finally convinced her that he wasn’t El Chino. Juls asks who he is if he isn’t
El Chino. Lupita responds that all she knows is that his name is Jacobo Reyes.
He treated her well and she wants to keep her promise that she won’t reveal
that he isn’t El Chino. Juls reminds Lupita that El Chino is a sicario; he can
make up whatever story to get into that house and do whatever they asked him to
do. When Juls insists that he is lying, Lupita pleads with her not to tell Vale
that her chauffeur lives in El Chino’s body. Juls definitely won’t tell
Vale…because Vale will think she is crazy.
At Alacran’s nest,
Alacrán is on the phone with Don Terecio telling him that a chauffeur did away
with Servando. Don T is elated and can’t believe that his rival is dead. As
Alacrán reminds Don T that he acquired some new investments to assist with the
laundering of money, Gancho approaches quietly from behind and listens. Don T
points out that if it weren’t for that, he would have kicked out Alacrán for
not finding EL Chino. Alacrán responds that the guy disappeared from the face
of the earth, but if he shows his face, Alacrán will be there. (Don't use the
phone recorder, Gancho; these people are on to it.)
Guille and Renata arrive
back at their apartment. Guille is thankful that Renata accompanied him; he
hopes she doesn’t feel like running away from him after this. Renata assures
him she is in with him up to her nose…after all, the whole country knows. Renata
then tells him about Victoria’s program and everything the public was saying;
even her mother and grandmother called her from Monterrey to tell her to be
careful since people may throw rocks at her. Guille shakes his head in
disbelief and asks her to promise to stop seeing those gossip shows and
magazines because they have no merit. (The cat is one thing, but El Gordo y La
Flaca, now Guille?) When she remarks that even though she may stop seeing them,
the problem will still exist, Guille agrees; he’s been living it his entire
life. He has learned that the best thing a person can do is ignore them. After
he asks if she is sure she wants to board his ship, Renata smiles and replies
that she will not get off the ship as long as this handsome captain takes the
helm.
Vale is sitting on her
bedroom floor very distraught and frightened when Silvina comes in and tells
her to lie down to rest.
Vale refuses and when she hears Max barking, she
panics and tells Silvina to tell them to check it out to make sure no one is
there. Silvina assures her that those men have left; the house is being well
surveilled and those men won’t come back in. Vale is still afraid that they may
come back; so Silvina again reassures her that they won’t come back and offers
to get Vale a sedative, but Val doesn’t want one; all they need to do is make
sure no one is there. After Silvina leaves, Vale gets a call from Juls who is
worried about her. Juls explains that she went over after seeing on the phone
that a man was threatening her, but was not allowed in. After she found out
that her family was fine, Juls knew she wouldn’t be allowed inside so she came
back home. Vale can’t believe she made it out alive. (Amen Sister, pass the
tequila) Juls knows it must have been
very traumatic and offers to go see Vale the next day, but Vale isn’t up to
anything; Vale will let Juls knows when she can come over.
At the hospital, LCJ
tries to get up from his bed. Cami stops him and asks where he is going. When
LCJ responds that he needs to get out of there, Cami tells him to respect the
doctor’s decision. As Cami struggles to get LCJ to lie down, Montilla walks in
because he has questions for LCJ. Cami tells Montilla that he will have to wait
until the next day, but LCJ tells Cami to cool it. LCJ then asks Montilla if someone is accusing
him of something; so Montilla responds that they are going to open an
investigation…Johny says he is a fraud. LCJ smirks sarcastically; Cami comments
that he should treat LCJ with more dignity; he should even give him a medal for
his heroic act. LCJ chuckles and questions if Montilla believes Johny. He
congratulates Montilla, but Montilla assures him that he doesn’t do things
because of what Johny says; he does them because of what he believes. Montilla
could care less about all the problems LCJ and Johny have because of jealousy;
what he wants to know is why LCJ returned to the house when he had been fired.
LCJ clarifies that he was not fired; he left on his own. Montilla repeats his
question—why did he return? Cami interrupts and tells Montilla that LCJ is
medicated and not up to questioning. Aggravated, Montilla concedes and
leaves. Camilo Rocks.
Outside the Carvajal
house, Lucía tells Fabricio that she wants his help in finding out what
hospital LCJ is at. After Fabricio agrees, but doesn’t rush off to follow her
orders; Lucía tell shim it’s urgent…he needs to do it NOW. Fabricio rushes, but
only to call Johny and tell him what Lucía has asked him to do. Johny tells Fab
to go ahead and find out where the chauffeur is, but Fab must tell him first;
he doesn’t want Fab to tell anyone else, much less Lucía. Johny will have to
visit LCJ. Oh how sweet. Maybe you two can both be killed with the
same gun.
Juls arrives at the
hospital and gives the receptionist some cockamamie story about giving her the
wrong name for her father. The receptionist, not having the brightest bulb,
believes her and is talked into letting Juls enter to see her father.
At Silvina’s house,
Lupita is surprised to see Pancho there so early and without notice. Pancho
apologizes, but he has something important that he has to tell her…he asked his
wife for a divorce. It was thanks to Lupita that he drummed up the courage to
do it; he realized that neither he nor Brigida were happy and this would allow
them to find happiness and fall in love…since he is already in love with
Lupita. (Dress him up like Vale and send HIM to the shrink.) As he tells her that he wants to do things
right and that he is in love with her and wants her to give him a chance,
Beltrino approaches from behind and questions what kind of chance…and who
called for the mariachis.
At the Carvajal house,
Eva tells Silvina that it is natural that Vale doesn’t want to leave her room
after all she went through yesterday. Silvina worries that Vale is not doing
well at all; she hasn’t even wanted to eat. Eva understands…Vale is in shock.
As Eva asks Silvina to take Vale some sedatives, they hear Vale shouting out as
she recalls almost being shot by Armenta. Eva and Silvina quickly enter to find
Vale crying and very distraught…she is afraid that they will return and doesn’t
know what they will do. Call the Chofer,
she needs her Daddy !
At Renata’s place, Guille
and Renata sign an agreement regarding chores. Guille will cook, but has to
help with the cleanup; Renata will teach Guille how to do the laundry; and
Guille needs to try to get along with Tlacoyo. Guille is excited about doing
chores and going to get groceries, but not so much about making peace with the
cat. There is a joke in there but I'm not going to put you through it.
Fabián arrives at the
Mexico City airport and is greeted by Mejías who has high hopes of finding El
Chino this time around.
At Silvina’s house,
Pancho tries to convince Lupita of his good intentions. As he continues, Beltrino
interrupts and reminds Pancho that Lupita is married. Pancho scoffs at the
statement and tells Beltrino that Lupita’s husband is irresponsible and a
coward who abandoned his daughter. Beltrino defends El Chino; so Pancho wonders
if Beltrino knows Lupita’s husband since he is defending him as if he were his
best friend. Beltrino denies knowing EL Chino and adds that Pancho doesn’t know
what difficulties El Chino may be going through since he had to disappear. As
they argue, Lupita states that she will not agree to a relationship with
anyone; she will be leaving the city soon.
She has only had problems since she arrived; and she wants to go far
away so she can live in peace with her daughter. Pancho is not willing to lose
her again; he will go with her...he will take them wherever she wants to go and
swears that they will never be alone again. Pancho has turned into a human
barnacle.
At the hospital, Juls
enters LCJ’s room and calls him “Chino.” She tells him not to worry; her mother
alre ady talked to her and about the absurd lie he told her. His tricks might work on her mother, but not
on her. LCJ tries to explain, but Juls won’t let him even try; she knows
perfectly well that he is her father…and he is going to tell her what he was
doing at the Carvajal house or she will turn him in to the cops.
At Silvina’s house,
Pancho is still trying to convince Lupita to let him go with them; she just
needs to say when. Beltrino interrupts again and tells Pancho not to pressure
Lupita. Pancho wants to know what interest Beltrino has in Lupita and what
relationship he has with her. Beltrino responds that he just met Lupita in the
hospital, but these months have not been easy on her; that’s why he is keeping
an eye on her…they are only friends. Just then Alicia calls Beltrino so he has
to leave, but before he does, he pleads with Lupita not to leave until they
have a chance to talk.
At the hospital, LCJ
tries to convince Juls that he is not who she thinks he is, but she knows
perfectly well who he is…he is a liar. When she remarks that he hurt someone
whom she loves very much, LCJ asks for the opportunity to explain what is
happening however strange it may seem. Juls snaps that he just wants to do what
he did to her mother…she wonders what he could possibly say to convince her. As
quickly as he can before Juls interrupts again, LCJ blurts out that he is not
El Chino; he is a 60 year old business man with a family, with a past, with
another face and another life who unfortunately transmigrated into her father’s
body. Juls scoffs and supposes it must have been magic. Irritated, LCJ doesn’t
know what it was; all he knows is that her father died in the electric chair at
the same time he died and LCJ inherited the worst of El Chino. When Juls brings
up the hurricane, LCJ questions if she didn’t notice anything different…aside
from the physical, did she not sense that he was someone else? Juls derides him
for continuing with the same thing and still thinks he is a liar…he has always
been a liar.
At the company, Johny
glares at Susana as she sits at her desk feeling his despicable stare. Just
then, Palomares startles Susana and wonders why she is so jumpy. After she
tells him it’s personal problems and asks what he needs, Palomares tells her
that he needs her to go interview the chauffeur who saved León’s daughter and
Lucía; they need to take the lead on that story and they don’t even know what
he looks like. When Susana suggests that Mateo get the interview, Palomares
explains that Mateo is too close to the family and would not be objective.
After Palomares tells her he wants the story before any other reporters get it,
Susana agrees to go right after she finishes what she’s doing.
At the hospital, LCJ
suggests that they have an extended conversation; he would love to tell her
that he is her father, but he isn’t El Chino Valdez. Juls just wants to know
what he was doing at the Carvajal house and wonders if the narcos sent him and
who he was supposed to kill. LCJ insists that he didn’t have anyone to kill; he
is NOT her father and he was only defending that family…because he is a human
being and they were about to kill someone. It was only logical that he do
something about it. He then gets frustrated and tells Juls that she should know
her father and she should know that if he was supposed to kill someone, El
Chino wouldn’t have done it that way and he wouldn’t have taken that long. Juls
retorts that she just wants to know if he is her father or not (how many times
does he have to say it, Juls, to get it through your thick head!). LCJ knows
its complex, but all he is asking is that she not say a word about all this; he
swears he will explain it if she will just listen. Just then a doctor tells
Juls that she shouldn’t be there. When LCJ asks that they just give them some
time to talk, Juls turns and dashes out as LCJ yells out to her.
Lucía calls Fabricio to
ask what he has found out. When Fabricio tells her that he is just now on his
way, Lucía gets upset since she asked him to do it hours ago. When Fabricio
lies and tells her he was doing a favor for Eva, Lucía sternly reminds him that
he works for her and she can fire him at any time. She insists that he get her
any info he can get on LCJ’s health.
Eva enters Vale’s bedroom
(actually asking if she can enter) with some juice, but Vale just sits frozen
in her bed. Eva sits with her and reads the newspaper headline that announces
Armenta’s death. Eva then points out that with Armenta’s death, that cartel is
dissolved and no one will hurt her. When she adds that Vale is safe in that
house and that they won’t leave her alone, Vale whimpers that they are there
every time she closes her eyes and she hears the shots; so Eva suggests that
they call Cami. Or the chofer............
At the company, Susana is
gathering her things and making a call to request a photographer when she bumps
into Johny who wants to talk to her because he hasn’t forgotten what happened.
Susana hasn’t forgotten either, but she is very busy and leaves. Finally, someone who doesn't ask 'How High?'
when Johny says Frog.
At the airport, Mejías
tells Fabián that there was an incident the day before involving the killing of
the leader of the Armenta Cartel. There were many others killed or arrested; he
suggests going to the commissary because he is more than sure that El Chino’s
name will appear on one of the lists.
At the company, Renata
goes to chat with Keila after getting a letter of recommendation from her first
boss. After they chat about the incident at the Carvajal house, Keila thinks
that whatever happens with Guille in the future will be intense, critical or
serious; she doesn’t know why but when things happen to millionaires, it
happens to the umpteenth degree. When Keila asks how things are going with
Renata’s prince, Renata has mixed feelings. It’s really good, but they have a
ways to go. Guille is trying, but it’s not easy living with someone who is
accustomed to having everything done for him…she can’t handle it. Keila,
however, is more curious about “other things.” Renata makes a face and replies
that things are complicated; it’s silly but Tlacoyo is having a big influence
on their relationship.
At Silvina’s house,
Pancho thinks that Beltrino was acting very odd; Beltrino didn’t seem to like
the fact that Pancho wants a relationship with her. Lupita thinks Beltrino is a
good man and a good friend…he worries about her, that’s all. Pancho doesn’t
agree, he thinks Beltrino was really bothered by it and left. Lupita thinks
Beltrino left because of his son’s illness. Just then, Juls walks quickly past
them; so Lupita goes to see how things went with Vale. When Juls clarifies that
she went to see her father and that he lied to her face again, Lupita retorts
that she was El Chino’s wife and knew him intimately and during the worst of
times; and she knows that the man who is in the hospital is not him. When she
adds that a person cannot change that much in such short amount of a time, Juls
reminds her that that is what criminals do. If Lupita wants to believe that
thing about the souls, that is her problem; they shouldn’t even try to convince
her. If Lupita wants to be made a fool of, she can go right ahead; Juls won’t
allow it to be done to her. Nopis, Juls,
you will do it to yourself.
Vale is laying in her bed
when Lucía comes in to apologize to her for what happened. Vale doesn’t think
it was Lucía’s fault that Armenta became obsessed with her, Lucía still feels
responsible. Lucía then brings up Juls and asks Vale if she knew that Juls is
Jacobo’s daughter. Vale sits up looking confused; she didn’t understand what
Lucía said. By Vale’s reaction, Lucía assumes that she knew nothing about it.
Vale shakes her head and tells Lucía it can’t be. When Lucía asks what Juls has
said about her father, Vale replies, “Nothing…nothing good. She hasn’t seen her
father in a long time and he is a very bad person as far as I know.” Lucía
wonders why Juls would lie if she is Vale’s friend. Vale doesn’t know where
Lucía got her information, but it can’t be true. As Vale tells Lucía that she
is confusing her very much, Eva walks in and asks Lucía what she’s doing
there…she has nothing to do there. Lucía opts to leave so Vale won’t see them
argue. After Lucía leaves, Eva tries to give Vale some sedatives, but Vale
refuses. Eva insists and tells Vale to take the pills, but Vale yells at her to
stop!
At the hospital, LCJ
tells the doctor that he feels well and wants to leave. When the doctor
mentions that there are many reporters and photographers waiting outside, LCJ
gets upset and wants assurance that he is safe there. The doctor responds that
Cami has left orders not to allow any of them in; his room is secure and it’s
best that he stay there. Downstairs, Susana and the photographer arrive. After
she tells the photographer to hide the camera under his shirt, Susana tells the
nurse that her son has just been admitted; so the nurse allows her in. Oh Jeez, are the doctors any smarter than
the front desk people?
At the company,
(no)S-Bueno’s assistant tells Johny that the president is very worried. When he
asks Johny if the reporter saw the document, Johny admits that she not only saw
it, but she took pictures of it; he knows because he saw them on her phone…but
he asked her to delete it. When the assistant asks if he is sure that she
deleted it, Johny hopes so. The assistant advises that they shouldn’t
underestimate reporters; the woman will benefit much more in publicizing a
scandal of this magnitude. Johny states that she’d better listen to him or
things will go very badly for her. The assistant hopes so and makes it clear
that if the document is made public, the consequences will be so great that not
even all the Carvajal money will be enough to save them. Johny tells the
assistant not to worry; everything will turn out well.
At Cami’s house, Guille
goes to pick up his check. Cami asks about the incident; so Guille shares that
he is very worried about Vale. They then chat about how things are going with
his relationship; Guille is shocked about how expensive everything is…he had
just gone grocery shopping. When Guille confides that he hasn’t found a job
yet, Cami advises that he needs to limit himself. Cami goes to get Guille’s
check; and while Guille waits in Cami’s office, he looks at Karla’s and Maru’s
files which have pictures of them and their butterflies. Cami comes back and
quickly takes the files from him.
At the hospital, Fabricio
enters LCJ’s room. LCJ is annoyed and wonders if Johny sent him; so Fab
clarifies that is was Lucía who sent him; she has been very worried about this
health ever since he became her favorite employee. As they argue, Susana shows
up at the door and asks LCJ for a few minutes. As LCJ tells her that he didn’t
authorize anyone to enter his room, the cameraman appears and starts taking
pictures. LCJ angrily shouts at him not to take pictures and to get out until a
security guard comes in and leads Susana and the cameraman out. Fabricio tells
LCJ to calm down and sarcastically offers to go get the camera. Fab finally
leaves on his own. (LCJ, did they let
you keep your pistol in your room?)
At the police station,
Montilla meets with Fabián and Mejías. After Montilla apologizes for not
attending to them previously, Fabián assures him that he is not leaving until
he finishes what he came to do. Mejías asks to see the files on the narcos who
were brought in after the incident at the Carvajal estate. Fabián explains that
they think El Chino is involved with one of the cartels in the city and
certainly had something to do with what happened the day before. Montilla
hesitates before giving them the files and tells them that they can’t take it
out of his office. After looking through the files, Fabián is frustrated that
none of the men are El Chino; he wants to talk to whoever survived the
incident. Montilla responds that that won’t happen right now since they are
still conducting interrogations, but maybe later they can talk to them.
Fabricio calls Johny and
comments about LCJ’s reaction to being interviewed and photographed; he thinks
LCJ is hiding something. Johny agrees that the guy obviously has more secrets;
he tells Fab not to worry…they will find out what they are. When Fab asks what
he should tell Lucía, Johny tells him to say that her chauffeur is better, but
can’t receive visitors at this time.
At Cami’s house, Guille
wonders if the people in the files are Cami’s patients for his next book. Cami
explains that they are part of his research; he might use them as a reference.
Guille is curious about the book; so Cami briefly tells him it’s about the
transmigration of souls and that Guille can read the rest when the book comes
out. Just then, Eva calls to ask Cami if he can come visit Vale who is having
hallucinations. As he talks, Guille gets Santos’s file with his picture and a
picture of the butterfly on his neck, but Cami grabs it from him. Cami then advises
Eva that what Vale is experiencing is normal, but that she should stay with
Vale at all times. After he ends the call, both he and Guille take off to see
Vale.
At the hospital, the
doctor is telling Javier that he is going home today. Beltrino overhears as he
walks in and asks if Javier has been cured. Alicia whirls some sarcasm at him
and tells him that the doctor has explained what will be happening, but he
wasn’t there. The doctor then explains that Javier responded so well to the
first chemo treatment that they are going to dismiss him. Javier can come in as
an outpatient for the remainder of the treatments. The doctor continues that
they shouldn’t worry, but he doesn’t want to give them any false hopes; what’s
in store will not be easy since the side effects can be quite strong. Beltrino
thinks that his superhero will be able to withstand all the side effects. The
doctor assures them that after the process has concluded, Javier will return to
feeling normal. Javier wonders if he can play football, but the doctor tells
him that for now he will have to settle for video games.
At Silvina’s house, Juls
comes up to Lupita and tells her she has decided…she is going to turn in El
Chino. He is a criminal and he can’t be free with another identity without
anyone knowing. Lupita points out that the news is reporting that LCJ saved the
family. Juls still doesn’t believe it; El Chino is a liar and convinced Lupita
that he was another man. Lupita pitifully pleads that Juls not turn him in
until she finds out more about him. Juls can’t believe that Lupita still
defends the man and wonders if Lupita is still in love with that trash after
all the things he has done to her. After Juls remarks that she is not like her,
Lupita again pleads that she not turn him in.
At the Carvajal house,
Fab gives his dictated report to Lucía. Lucía is displeased with the info Fab
gave her; she could have just picked up the phone and called herself to get
that type of info. She thanks him for nothing and walks away.
At the hospital, LCJ is
in bed looking at his (two) bleeding wounds (so did the bullet go in and make a
u-turn??) and listening to the news when he hears that the media already has
some initial information about the hero of the moment. They confirmed that the
man who saved the Carvajal family is one of the Carvajal chauffeurs and
responds to the name of Jacobo Reyes. LCJ freaks when they flash the exclusive
photograph that they have of the hero of the moment. Sucks to be famous.
