Amar A Muerte, 2/8/19, Episode 67: If You Publish It, They Will Come
Parte 1~~
Beltran, aka Belchin', aka El Chino actualmente, has just seen the news bit about Jacobo Reyes, Heroe Del Momento--and co-transmigrante, León Carvajal--who is now recovering at Northway Hospital; he flies out of Javier's hospital room to seek the man who is wearing his body. Alicia and Jav are left eating his dust as usual.
At the same time, Johny Corona--everyone's crown of thorns in their backside--is otherwise occupied nosing around Susana's computer and trying to see if her latest composition is possibly on her screen which she's dutifully locked. The paper's editor walks up to see if he can be of assistance. With the ever-present contrived Corona constipational smile of obligation, Johny pretends to take Mr. Editor into his confidence. There's some suspected extortion and they--the police--need to check Susana's computer today. "--Keep her out of the office today while we check her computer. Don't let on to A.N.Y.B.O.D.Y."
Back on campus, Sergio tries talking to Lucho about Valentina's sad situation. Lucho is sick to death discussing Val and her idiosyncrasies any longer. Sergio tells him to get with it and with the times. He should feel some sympathy for her since her gay love life has turned tragic owing to the fact that Juliana is leaving the country with Mama shortly. (Yawn. FF>>FF>>)
Eva, worried about Val's post-traumatic incoherent babbling has called Camilo to the house to snap her out of it medically. (Guess he's a psychiatrist and not a medical doctor. Oops.)
Belch calls Barb along the way to inform her that he's finally located his body warmer and is driving there to confront him.
Jacobo Reyes, aka León, knows he's been seen by millions, including the murderous criminal minions after him. He leaves his bed with the obvious intent of fleeing the scene of the crime-to-be--and the blood bath that would be his. Unfortunately, he's stopped due to Montilla's standing by the door and needing answers to his questions regarding the shootout at the Carvajal Corral.
Johny gets the IT guy to take Susana's hard drive out of her computer and take it with him. Matteo sees this and asks his editor what gives and where is she? She's working out in the field today and the rest of it Mr. Editor doesn't know nor care about. He makes a quick call to her and tells her about the confiscation of her system.
Back at the manse, Mayela makes her grand re-appearance in an attempt to get close to Guillermo again. She lies that she's interested in Val's sad predicament and that she's now officially dating Lucas. Guille is happy to hear this......She proposes that they do a double/triple date and include Val and Jules. (Anything to get a free hug from her true obsession.) FF>>FF>>
Montilla forces Jake to give him the rundown on the gun he used--fully registered to his friend, Dr. Camilo Guera, and only did he grab it after receiving a frantic call from Sra. Lucia about the narcos back in her driveway. Montilla doesn't understand why Jake is so uncomfortable with his fifteen minutes of fame and being Mexico's latest superhero.
Belch is parking in the hospital garage and on his way to finally finding answers to his metaphysical quagmire.
Meanwhile, El Alacrán is jup-jup-jupa-ing it up at his anything but humble hideaway due to Enemy Numero Uno, Armenta's, demise at the hands of Mexico's Man of the Hour, El Chino, courtesy of the ever prying press--and Al's resultant fortuitous find. "iJupa!!!!!!!!!!" "--There he was, under our noses all the time--although I cannot imagine why he'd be working as a driver for the Carvajal's."
Belch arrives but has difficulties while Lucia gets Alirio to ready her ride. Fabricio tries to insert himself in this and offers to accompany her. "--Since when have I ever required you to accompany me anywhere, Fabricio? Hmmmm???'' He deflates appropriately and then calls JC who tells him to secretly follow her.

Parte 2~~
Susana tells Mateo that she's got pictures of the documents showing the money collected from donors--and it's not just the 1-2 millions of pesos formally claimed. No, it's millions more and from none other than some Russian Transnational organization who've been promised mineral rights and lots of other goodies as well. "--You mean to say that the Russians are interfering with our elections?" Oh noes!! Apparently, there is a document that Johny signed I believed, among the group she has photographed --Not to worry, however, she's still got a copy--and Johny supposedly knows she will publish this information if he tries anything with her. Of course, JC isn't aware of this when he reads what's on her hard drive and starts deleting it all.
Back at the Carvajal manse, Dr. Cam talks Val down from her tree branch. FF>>FF>>
The receptionist at the hospital will not give Belchin any information about Reyes' room number. However, Al has it under control. He has bribed one of the guards and will receive the room number momentarily on the way there.
While the guard is calling somebody, Jake sneaks out behind him and walks down the hallway.
Fabian is having coffee with his P.I. and while the investigator takes a call from his better half, Fab notices the headlines of a newspaper another customer is reading. He sees El Chino's picture with the headlines: 'Mexico's National Hero!' Fab shows the paper to his P.I. who cautions waiting for Montilla to confirm this is their guy or not. Fab says he's not waiting for the bureaucracy to fowl foul up the works, not after seeing this guy pump seven shots into his daddy at that restaurant back when! Mr. Peep reminds Fab that the guy would be a paid assassin and Fab's woefully out of his league. "--He'll never see me coming," he says and races off from the table expecting Mr. P.I., whom he's paying, to follow.
Belch calls Barb to tell her he's in the right hospital, but can't get anybody to give him the room number. Barb reminds him the first time he saw his transmigrated body was in the hospital and she wonders aloud what significance it may have.
Meanwhile, Al and Gancho have arrived at the hospital. Gancho says there are police and guards everywhere.
At the same time, one of the nurses recognizes Jake who is now dressed in operating room gown, cap and mask, walking towards the elevator. She cautions him he's not well enough to be walking around on the floor. He argues with her that he is and besides, he's a sitting duck as he's killed a famous narco-trafficker, so his neck's now on the proverbial chopping block. She tells him he's got Montilla and Co. to look after him. Great comfort that, he replies, not! if they get through then he's dead and who'll take the blame at that point? She doesn't argue the point.
Belch is getting coffee in the hospital cafeteria when he notices Gancho and Al. Gancho gets money to pay the guards off with for the room no. and turns his back. He thinks Al's recognized him but Al simply remarks about the macho-sized Machiado.
JC gets a panicked and threatening call from Mr. Candidato. Nobody but nobody will wreck his political career, most of all, JC. Johny swears he's taking care of the leaky boat. Viewerville notes that JC has been using a teaspoon to siphon out this leaky publicity boat.
In the editorial room, DoorMat has it out with the editor, complaining that Johny's getting Susana's hard drive for an investigation is a breach of professional ethics because The Press and their resources sit on the right hand of Dios. Mr. Editor tells Cowardly DoorMat to blow it out his ditty bag and tell it to his wife, who after all, owns the damn joint!
Susana locates her hidden photo behind a picture on her bookshelf. We suppose she's going to use it sooner than later now.
Back at the hospital, since La Recepcionista won't say, Lucia is forced to use her friendship with the hospital director to get Jake's room number despite the fact this is Lucia Borges de Carvajal, the woman-- and whose family's life-- Jacobo just saved, begging the question, "Just which rock have you been hiding under lately, dearie?" (Yup, C Team must have written this part of the script.) Of course, Al pays the guard the cash and heads upstairs, literally, to Jake's room.
Fabricio checks in with JC and informs him that Lucia's at Northway Hospital on her way to visit Jacobo Reyes. Fab's told to keep him informed and see how longs she stays there.
Lucia enters Jake's room and finds it empty. Jake is escaping down the emergency stairwell.
At home, Val remembers Lucia asking her if she knew Jacobo was Jule's daddy. She calls Jules to ask her to come see her at home. When Jules arrives and is asked, she admits to Val that Jake is her father, but that also she had no idea it was he until she saw him getting into the ambulance.
Guille and Renata grouse a bit about his spending borrowed cash on frivolities like a special and especially expensive espresso machine.
Maya tells Lucas about their "new" novi@ relationship and that they'll thus be joining Guille and Val on a triple date. He wants a long "rehearsal" session to make it "credible."
Lucia complains to the receptionist that she gave her the wrong room number on purpose since Jake's not in that/his room. Nope, he's still registered there. She calls in security.
Fabian and Mr. Peep discuss their strategy for confronting El Chino. Mr. Peep warns him that it could be him next in that electric chair and not Chino Valdez. Fab says they don't use it in Mexico. Mr. Peep reminds him that they would extradite him to Texas where we all know they do use that chair. Fab says posh and tosh; he's got too many connections in Texas for that ever to happen to him. (La Muerte, call your office! Your next estudiante is warming up in the bull pen!) To Hell with Mexican so-called justice! The only justice is found in a gun!
Meanwhile, Val insists that the man called Jacobo Reyes isn't the ruthless, cold-blooded killer for hire that Jules has described as her father. Jules tries to calm her down long enough to explain what her father told her when she went to get an explanation at the hospital: that there was another man living in her father's body. The crazy thing is that her mother believes this, although Jules does not. Val thinks about this for a minute and then says there's a person they need to see about this.
Belchin' is exhausted from running all through the hospital and still not finding the right room.
At the same time, Mr. Peep and Fabian have parked in the garage and are making their way up stairs at the hospital. Peep is upset that they haven't contacted Montilla for his approval first. Fab's answer is waving around that gun.
Jake has slowly, methodically, made his way down the stairs of the parking garage and he walks onto a level just as Fabian and Mr. Peep arrive at the same level. Fab remarks the guy getting off the stairs looks like he could be Chino. Gancho and Al are making their way to El Chino's room just as one of Al's goon squad notifies him on a walkie-talkie (guess no phone use in Mexican hospitals either?) that he's just seen El Chino escaping into the parking garage. "--Keep me informed and don't let him escape till I get there!"
The goons in the garage call over to Jake. He tries pushing a supply cart in their way and kicks one in the head before running off. Goon #1 calls Al and tells him he's gotten away. The goonies find him only seconds later and pull a gun on him, warning him to stop. Just then Belchin' races up in his jeep and knocks them over like a couple of bowling alley spares. He rolls down the passenger window and yells over at Jake to jump in. "--Hurry it up! Get in!!!"
