I always enjoy reading your Karmageddon posts.

I'm too lazy tonight to give you my opinions on the fatal/happy endings of everyone tonight. I'll have to ponder overnight.

Just that Johny has to go and soooooo.
 

Has it officially been established that juliana is Chino's biological daughter? He raised her with that looming doubt the entire time.

It seems like carvajal is gonna sink once the actions completely belong to lucia and her, eva and johnny are found out.

Lucia's being sold into prostitution just plain doesn't justify any of her bad actions. She's just a plain victim of herself and her greed. There should be no pity for someone like that. She's done nothing to even redeem herself. She's vastly different from Guillermo and his stupidity. Lucia's not stupid at all to begin with. She's morally at level with Eva; funny that they both hate each other when they're kind of alike in many ways.
 

I wanted to put Lucho and Mayeli on the list but couldn't find the actors' names and also their sins are so small compared to the others'. Mayeli and Lucho will both have bad reps among their peers. That will hurt them in their most sensitive place: Their egos.

It's hard to decide who deserves the worst punishment: Johny or Eva. Johny killed three people in cold blood and probably has Lucia on his hit list. He got seriously insecure around Jacobo, so his fate should not be an easy one:

Johny should not simply die. His soul (or what there is of it) should be transported into the body of a young accident victim being kept alive by machines. Just enough brain damage to erase the ability to walk, talk, or to do anything for himself. Super-religious relatives of the deceased to keep him alive for the next decade or two and having to hear their futile prayers on a daily basis.

The accident victim's soul should go into another otherwise healthy body.

Eva is a tougher decision when transmigration is a possibility. However, I'm currently of the mind that she should be found out about the money laundering and sent to the toughest women's prison in Mexico where she will have to wear a dowdy uniform, not have a hairdresser or manicurist, and lose her beauty. This is how her classist attitude should be paid back.

Macario Valdez is likely responsible for many contract killings in the US, with the federal judge only being the most recent and the most serious. I think there is a law stating that there can't be a second execution attempt under the circumstances of his survival, so when he regains his original body (which I think he will) he needs to be back in a maximum security prison. Maybe they'll let him write a book about his experiences (although he can't profit from it).

El Alacrán should get life without parole.

I don't think that Juliana's paternity issue was ever resolved. Considering what El Chino was like in the opening episode I'm inclined to think that his denial was like Eladio Gomez-Luna's in PyP: a manipulation tactic and therefore a lie. If Lupita is so old-fashioned and conscious of "what the neighbors would think" with regard to Juliana's sexuality I doubt she would have stepped out on El Chino no matter what he was like. If El Chino has been moved at all by walking in Beltran's body he should have a chance to apologize to Lupita before meeting his fate, whatever that will be.
 

Is El Chino being hunted for his escape? I thought it was determined that he had "paid his debt to society" once he was executed (even though it didn't take) and he was released? The only one who was hunting him was Fabian (and Alacran, of course) and now Montilla to answer his questions.
 

Good choices, UA, but like Victoria, I have to think about it for awhile longer.

Still, I have a soft corner of my heart for Lucia. Though she wasn't SOLD into prostitution, as Anon alleges, she was PIMPED out by her mother. The two came from very poor economic, educational and social class. The only way they survived was for her mother to prostitute herself, then make her daughter follow in her footsteps (granted mama could have gotten a waitressing job, like Loopy did). When Luci finally ran away from her mother, she had few life-skills to draw on and was ripe for manipulation by men--which she experienced first hand by being at men's mercies and perhaps kinky desires. No love. She was looking for love in all the wrong places.

Johny came along and became her Daddy Warbucks with a perverted twist, or saw himself as Dr. Henry Higgins to Pygmalion's Eliza. His pre-planning to take over the Carvajal lucrative empire started long before he ran into Lucia. He groomed her into an attractive, seductive young lady who could pass for decent, solid, middle class. He "planted" her at the reception desk at Carvajal and let the magic happen. I don't think Luci was aware at the time he picked her up what he had in mind. Maybe not even when he put her at the reception desk. But by then, Luci had no way out and probably knew what she was there for--to help Johny get ahold of the Carvajal money and promised to benefit from those takings herself. I don't think she had any idea how evil Johny was until it was too late. Certainly not before she realized he had set up Leon to be murdered on her wedding day.

Up until that moment, she was still emotionally and financially dependent on Johny. Her biggest sin was to cover up what she knew of the murder, once she "found him out," but she would be exposing herself, too. And...Johny promised her there would be no loose ends. She believed him--until, again, it was too late (where we are now).

In the meantime, she got entangled with this absolutely gorgeous stud-muffin of the icy blue eyes and fell in love. She doesn't know how to extricate herself from Johny's "in too deep" clutches and at the last moment saw that running away with Jacobo was the answer to her dilemma. Johny did what he needed to do to keep her in the fold, tame and mum--turn her against Jacobo (which, granted, wasn't hard).

But, I have to agree with Anon in so far as she's not blameless and her desire for social position, a comfy life and power took precedence over an ordinary life.

Last thoughts for the time being--have ANY of our characters had an ordinary life? Even Alicia and Javier had their rough times with the REAL professor Camacho. Maybe Silvina and Tiberio qualify--but she's a little weird since she reads coffee grounds.
 

Anon--The Patio Peeps have been wrestling with the "who's after El Chino Valdez?" for some time. We know that what led him to flee San Antonio in the first place, was that he kept and buried a suitcase full of money that belonged to the narcs. They weren't too happy about that. They've been looking for him ever since.

Fabian was after him to wreak revenge for his father, the judge's assassination. When El Chino's body was finally identified in the press, I guess Montilla, knowing that Fabian represented "justice," decided to get in the game and take him off the streets. I mean, whether El Chino had been set free by the U.S. justice system or not, and he'd moved to Mexico, would you want him as a neighbor? Montilla is still convinced he was hired by the Sierra guys to take out Armenta and he really is an assassin at the top of his game. Beyond that, I have no other reasons for why he's being hunted.
 

A failed execution doesn't get the condemned man off the hook. Historically they try again.

Fabian was in pursuit because of revenge, which he decided to forgo. However, there is nothing to prevent the Texas Rangers to look for El Chino and bring him back. They'd never buy the transmigration stuff.
 

Guillermo is now learning that his name and bank account can't buy everything. He isn't the snob his older sister is and has done whatever he can to help the disabled man. Since the writers of these programs often play fast and loose with realities like the law, they probably will here, too. Nobody at Groupo Carvaal wants the company to go under and the video of the shooting is likely to prove that he was not the shooter. He is therefore likely to get off. Not that he should not pay in some way, so he might get 1,000 hours of community service, which he can handle. That will go along with allergy shots so he can have a Felices Para Siempre with Renata and Tlyaco.

Leon deserves to live again. Whether or not he gets his original body back is the big question. If Group Carvajal collapses because of a scandal about the money laundering he should get a second chance in a younger, fit body that doesn't come with any baggage. The dangers he has endured in El Chino's body are punishment enough for his mistakes. With his knowledge and experience he can build a new fortune and marry a woman worthy of him.

Luciais already paying for her sins thanks to Armenta and probably the repercussions of his demise. She has seen through Johny. She deserves to lose Leon at the very least. Since the writers seem to have retconned the story to have her complicit in Leon's murder she will probably do some time and lose her beauty.
 

I agree that in FAILED executions they simply try again. But El Chino's execution DID NOT FAIL. He was medically examined and pronounced dead, which is why they let him go. He did not escape and the US law is not looking for him, only Fabian was, because as far as he was concerned, justice wasn't served. The DAs in Texas told Fabian that El Chino had served his sentence and they had nothing further to do with him. Fabian just couldn't let it go and set out to hunt him down and kill him himself. Montilla needs to do his research. He is now looking for El Chino to question him about Armenta, but he has no reason to say that Camilo was harboring a wanted criminal.
 

I still have issues with him getting off. I do agree that the killing of Armenta was in self- defense and that of others and a public service, but that wasn't El Chino in that body.

El Chino's current attitude is still not philosophical regarding the situation and he is still a brute. And how will he react to Juliana's sexual orientation?

We also don't know how many contract killings he is responsible for that he hasn't paid for.

This discussion also hasn't covered the soul of Beltran, whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
 

Would it surprise anybody to find that Leon's body is in the USA with the soul of Beltran?

With his body gone, he could say he was whisked off to a private rehab center to recover--in safety. When he saw he could come back, he does. I think he might scare Lucia enough to turn her hair white. Will he want her back without his virile body, though. Will he want his old body back.

UA--Well it didn't take long for El Chino to react to the news that Juls is likely to be gay. He got angry and blamed it all on Lupita.

El Chino was almost there to full redemption, but this sets him back a pace or two. I did feel he was doing the right thing telling Pancho and Lupita not to call the police when he learned she'd been kidnapped, that he knew these people and he would handle it, even if he has to shed blood--the way he did during his little trip back to TX to recover his stash.

There's no punishment great enough for our Johny. Even torture isn't good enough. He should be put on public display in a glass cage and fed leftovers every day. His upkeep would be paid for by admission fees. All his pecados should be posted as a warning to others.

Nope, can't punish LCJ or Lucia.

Don't know how Guille is going to get out of his situation, but if he does, he can be redeemed by REALLY starting a foundation to assist victims of violence. We mourn the loss of lives lost to gunfire, but what about the severely injured who survive and, like Sr. Castillo, don't have the resources to get the best rehabilitation care and the government doesn't have programs in place to do it.

Eva has gotten herself in over her head. She's been unfaithful to her husband for a long time, messed around with narcos and willing to launder money for him. Now she's pregnant and will have El Al circling around her waiting for this bebe to emerge. Since she never wanted to have children, this is punishment enough for her--bond with the baby and then have to leave it behind while she goes off to jail to serve several years.
 

I can't see her bonding with an infant; she has no feelings to hurt, only pride. Which is being hurt whenever she is out of control, which has begun.
 

To be truthful, I can’t either. It’s just my own fantasy of her karmageddon. Mateo and Vale’s gestures should show her that there is something worthwhile about family—other than reputation, social standing and making money.
 

I'm still having a hard time coming up with some good ideas about karmaggedon, especially for the poor souls who have transmigrated. We can surmise that each soul was "selected" with a purpose in mind and how interesting that all of these souls have found the way to each other--are they all part of one big plan?? To improve Death Chicks image??

We have Leon Carvajal. UA already pointed out his main offense and where his focus is. what is his part of the mission? Someone already mentioned that Death Chick had him in her sights before he died since she was in the garden when a very alive Leon saw her. Is his mission to guide his kids to the right path? His connection to El Chino would be the laundering of money at his company by his daughter for the Sierras Cartel. And how convenient that their daughters met and are in a relationship.

Then there is El Chino who is the worst of sicarios and has never acknowledged his daughter. He happens to have a million dollars which is desperately needed by the Camacho family to save their son.

Beltran is an anthropology professor who, IIRC, was lecturing about death. He has neglected his wife and is desperate to find a way to save his son. Where is his SOUL?

Santos was another soul who seemed to be helping so many people cross the border while looking out for their safety...he still ad his butterfly. He ended up being "taken" be Death Chick...and why? Was it because he was about to bring Beltrino and LCJ together and it was too soon? Why didn't Death Chick just tell him to go back to where he came from and continue his mission?

Karla messed up royally; so it was no surprise that Death Chick took her back.

Hector/Maru really messed things up. Yeah, Hector learned his lesson and ended up leaving to make a life for herself...but her butterfly disappears?? Whyyyy? Just because Hector let his family go so that they could be happy? Santos was helping so many people, but he still had his butterfly!

And now we have Micaela who just happened to be awarded the body of one of Beltran's students! She seems to have accepted her new fate and she still has her butterfly.

So are we coming to full circle now? Is this some plan that Death Chick devised around Beltran and Camilo who were both so interested in death?

BTW, is there any way to bring this post back up to the top? Some very interesting discussions are being brought up here and there is still so much more to theorize, complain and ponder about.
 

The only karmageddon I can think of right now is for Johny. I would really like to see Lucia kill him while trying to save LCJ's life.

Anon—to continue—So where is Leon’s body? (The one you called Lucas.) And now we have just had another transmigrated soul in the student’s body. I just want the missing bodies whereabouts solved one at a time. What does the opera singer have to do Leon and El Chino?

RGV—I love your analysis of each transmigrated person’s “sins” and why they are being treated differently.
 

Anon, up until last week, we were led to believe that León’s body was 6 ft under, but now it’s missing, here again we have an instance where the usual patten is not followed. In all the other cases, the transmigrated souls have entered the host body immediately after the host’s death leading the families to believe that the individual who died was miraculously resuscitated. In León ‘s case, his body was in the casket and placed in the grave...someone had to have dug it out and taken it...but who would do that? Death Chick? A family member or Johny?

Wouldn’t it be a real twist if Johny turned out to be León ‘s son? Maybe that’s why he is so obsessed with having everything and everyone that León had.

Still thinking of more karmageddon ideas for the rest of evil ones...
