Amar a Muerte, 3/11/2019, GRAN FINAL: Death Has a Plan for Everyone…But So Does Love OR Redemption Doesn’t Come Easy

Recap written by: Kirby and RgvChick. “The Helpers”

Previously: LCJ and Cami find Beltrino. LCJ tells him that he needs his help. LCJ helped Beltrino rescue his daughter; now, LCJ’s daughter is in danger and needs help from Beltrino to rescue her from Alacrán. Montilla is at Johny’s place trying to arrest him, but Johny shoots at the cops.

Beltrino doesn’t hesitate to agree to help LCJ; he asks if LCJ knows where El Alacrán is. As they talk, Cami interrupts and tries to tell them that they need to let the cops handle it, but LCJ and Beltrino talk over him. Beltrino regrets not having killed Alacrán the first time, but this time he won’t fail. Cami keeps interrupting; so LCJ finally tells him to call Montilla and ask about sending back up. As Cami calls, Beltrino and LCJ quickly get into the SUV and drive off leaving Cami behind.

At Johny’s house, Montilla yells at Johny to not make things worse; he’s only going to get himself in more trouble. (Some places, shooting at Law Enforcement is about as much trouble as you can get into without Death Chick's help)

Lucía is in her bedroom looking desperate when Candela comes in and asks if she is waiting for Johny and if she is going to leave with him. After Lucía tells her that she doesn’t have time for her interrogations, Candela warns Lucía that Johny is a bad man; he is not good for her…with that smirk, he is capable of selling his own mother. Lucía reminds Candela that she was capable of selling her own daughter. Candela is very sorry; and she is very sorry that there is still so much resentment and anger between them. Lucía responds that she shouldn’t worry; she has ordered that they deposit money for Candela, so she can relax. Candela can’t relax; she worries about Lucía. When Lucía suggests that it would be best for Candela to leave now before all of Lucía’s problems come to light…Candela won’t like it, Candela doesn’t care; the only thing she wants to do is salvage the little that remains between them. After Lucía responds that there is no “them,” Candela just wants Lucía to be okay and Johny is the worst decision she can make. Candela pleads with Lucía to listen to her. (Tell her it was Johny who gave you temporary Cancer then!)  Delusional Candy

At Johny’s place, Montilla continues to yell at Johny. Johny shouldn’t make him treat him like a criminal since he is a gentleman; he should come out and give himself up. (Wait, isn't shooting at cops serious in CDMX?)  Johny shouts back that that is why Montilla should go looking for EL Chino Valdez…HE is the criminal. After Montilla responds that is why he wants to talk to Johny, Johny takes another shot at him.

At Alacrán’s hideout, Eva tells Alacrán that she will not call her father to come there no matter how long Alacrán points his gun at her face. Alacrán shouts that the man is not her father; he is El Chino Valdez who is just telling her stories. Eva doesn’t care what Alacrán believes; she isn’t going to do it, but Alacrán isn’t going to leave things as they are; he is going to find her father. Eva thinks he’s being stubborn; they already have enough problems. (Yep you two are not going to be on Dr. Phil at this rate.)  Alacrán will wait to see if her husband withdraws the complaint; if he doesn’t, they will have to go far away. Eva refuses to go anywhere with Alacrán, but Alacrán retorts that she will do as he says. Eva wonders who he thinks he is; he is not going to order her around. Alacrán snaps that they used to be lovers, but things have changed; she will do as she is told without arguing. Delusional Eva.

Mat enters the media company slowly and looks around. He sits down as he holds his hurting side and breathes heavily; he sees the news article he wrote as a man reads it. He takes out his phone to make a call, but Marino takes it away and asks where he got it.

Walking near the building where Alacrán is hiding, Beltrino asks LCJ if he is sure about what he wants to do…once inside, there is no turning back. LCJ wonders if Beltrino is scared. Beltrino takes offense and gets his gun ready.

At Johny’s place, Johny continues to shoot at the cops. When the shooting stops, the cops carefully approach and enter Johny’s house. The search everywhere, but Johny is nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Johny is racing away on his motorcycle.

At Alacrán’s hideout, Alacrán hears the outer door open and tells Eva to be quiet. Alacrán approaches the door and asks who is there. LCJ opens the door and Alacrán smirks and tells him to come in. Eva runs toward LCJ calling out “Father!” but Alacrán stops her and orders her not to call him that…it’s El Chino. LCJ tells Eva to relax; everything will be okay. He addresses Alacrán, “Do you want me to explain it you? We don’t have much time.”

As Alacrán steps back, Beltrino is finding his way to Alacrán through the rear entrance. Alacrán wonders what Chino/LCJ wants to explain…that he always changes name wherever goes, like he changes daughters? Because as far as he knows, Juliana is his daughter and now it’s Eva. When LCJ replies, “I was doing a friend a favor,” Alacrán replies, “Well. I’m taking out your friend.” Eva breaks away from Alacrán and stands in front of LCJ asking Alacrán not to hurt him. LCJ tells him that he’d better not even think about hurting his daughter. Alacrán pulls Eva back and holds her as he insists that she is not his daughter. As Beltrino continues to walk toward Alacrán, Eva tells Alacrán that what her father says is true. Alacrán wants her to explain how her father entered El Chino’s body. LCJ responds, “Let’s say it’s a long story, it would take a lifetime to explain.” As Beltrino walks by a box he sees a mirror and his reflection as El Chino. His butterfly hurts him and he bleeds as he hears Eva tell Alacrán that she didn’t want to believe it either, but swears it’s true. Alacrán doesn’t care who LCJ says he is; he is going to pay for all the crap he has done to Alacrán. When LCJ closes in on Alacrán and responds that this conversation is going nowhere and asks what it is that they need to do, Alacrán reacts and puts his gun to Eva’s head. LCJ tells him to put his gun down. (Oh sure LCJ, he’ll do exactly as you say…NOT!)

At the media company, Gancho asks Mat if he withdrew the complaint. When Mat replies that he couldn’t withdraw the complaint because the person in charge was not there, there were too many cops and he was afraid they would recognize him, Gancho warns Marino that he’d better prepare an explanation to give to Alacrán.

At the Carvajal house, Cami goes to see Lucía. He tells her that León went to rescue Eva; what’s happening is extremely dangerous. Cami wants Lucía’s help through the Carvajal Group. Lucía thinks they should call the police, but Cami explains that they couldn’t be reached. He needs a photo of El Alacrán and anything they have done…anything that could help Eva and León. Lucía quickly agrees.

At the company, a group of reporters are outside the company as Guille arrives. They throw a slew of questions at him; so he turns around and announces that all he can say is that they have opened an investigation; as soon as they know anything, they will offer it to them. When a reporter asks if they are planning on buying off a judge (stupid question!), Guille responds that no one is going to buy a judge; (They have all already been purchased?)  the Carvajal Group will assume full responsibility for anything it has to assume. They will soon have a press conference where a very important announcement will be made.

Renata and Keila go looking for an apartment. They find one they think is really nice, but Renata feels strange picking out an apartment on her own when it’s supposed to be for her and Guille. When Keila asks why she has such an odd look, Renata shares that she overheard something else at her new job…about Valentina.

At Jul’s apartment, Val goes to visit and tells Juls that her father is a transmigrant…and the worst thing is that Juls knows who he is…it’s Jacobo. Juls thinks she’s joking, but Val assures her she is very serious. Juls thinks this is too much of a coincidence. She can’t believe that they met each other without knowing that their fathers were connected. Val thinks that she and Juls are connected; they were destined to meet.

At the Carvajal house, Lucía has called Jaramillo and asked him to find any information on El Alacrán. When she asks Cami if there is anything else she can help with, Cami questions why she has to leave, Lucía is afraid; now that León is here, she doesn’t know what he will do to her. She feels guilty about so many things; and not everything is black and white as León thinks…whatever she says, he won’t believe her. Cami assures Lucía that León loves her; she should know that. Right now he loves her 50% and hates her 50%. Cami gets up to leave, but Lucía asks him to wait; she asks if León really loves her. Cami replies that the best thing she can do is find out for herself.   (First, change out of that insect outfit.)

At Johny’s place, Montilla is giving the order to cover all roads and the airport; Johny must not leave the country. Meanwhile, Johny surprises Fabricio with a strong hug. After Fabricio tells him that LCJ is not at the house, Johny asks what Fabricio thinks about people dying and what happens afterwards. Fabricio chuckles and tells him that after death, that is the end. Johny is relieved to hear him say that—that has been the case in the past so why should it change now. Johny believes everything will be well. Delusional Johny.

At Beltrino’s house, Alicia has told Octavio and Cristina all about Beltrino’s transmigration. Cristina wonders what Alicia will do now. Alicia would like to take her son and just run away, but this Beltrán has some good qualities and Javier adores him. The former Beltrán was never close to children; and now they laugh, play and get along well; they really love each other…she has seen it many times. When Cristina asks what Alicia feels for him, Alicia avoids the question and adds that there is one more thing; Beltrino has another family and they are in Mexico. Cristina doesn’t think it’s going to work out.

At Alacrán’s hide out, Alacrán is patting down LCJ to make sure he doesn’t have a weapon. Eva insists that LCJ is her father. Alacrán growls, “Stop speaking nonsense! …This guy stole money and a USB from me and he is going to hand it over right now!” LCJ asks, “How is it that Chino died in the electric chair and now I am here before you?” Eva adds, “Yes, in some way, my father’s soul had to enter his body.” Alacrán still thinks it’s nonsense, grabs Eva and tells LCJ that he needs to give him his money NOW and the USB. LCJ keeps telling him to lower his weapon. Suddenly, Beltrino grabs Alacrán’s weapon and asks if he is gong to keep bitchin’ about the freakin’ USB. Alacrán asks who he is; so Beltrino responds, “ Macario, el Chino Valdez, idiot!”  (Like:  I hear you been lookin for me sucker ?)  Alacrán is very annoyed and wonders why everyone is saying that they are some one else. LCJ reproaches Beltrino for taking so long. Beltrino grumbles that he is glad that Alacrán finally got rid of his stupid smile. When Alacrán curses and again asks who he is, Beltrino swears that he is not going to waste this second opportunity life gave him to put a bullet through his head. LCJ knows that Alacrán and Beltrino have business to resolve and wants to leave, but Eva tells them they can’t leave; the other men have Mateo and they can hurt him. Alacrán laughs as he looks at Beltrino and tells him that this has not finished.

At Juls’s apartment, Juls tells Val about her conversation with her father; he didn’t take it well and got aggressive. Val thinks Beltrino got angry because Juls told him to leave them alone, but Juls clarifies that he got angry because he found out about them. Val thinks he’ll get over it just as her mother and Eva learned to accept it, but Juls assures her that this was much worse; Beltrino threatened to take her life so he would be sure that they wouldn’t see each other…and he said it in his sicario tone.

Johny sneaks into Lucía’s bedroom. He runs to her and gives her a tight hug. She wonders what he is doing there. When Johny tells her that Montilla is after him, Lucía wonders why he would go there to hide. Johny is there because they are leaving. Lucía questions where the hell he thinks they could go to if the cops are after him. After Johny tells her that everything is ready and that they need to leave, Lucía responds that she has thought it through; and she is not leaving there. Johny warns her that she will end up in jail; that ghost is not going to forgive her. Lucía doesn’t care. Johny thinks she’s just upset; he reiterates that everything is ready for their new life, but Lucía keeps shaking her head and tells him to listen…it’s all over; she is going to stay there and face the consequences of everything she did to León…and he should do the same! Johny responds that she can’t betray him like that, but Lucía retorts, “But you betrayed me first! The person who made the decision to kill León was only YOU, Johny!” Johny tries to hold her, but Lucía pleads with him to listen to her…it is over! As they argue, they hear police sirens. Johny tells Lucía that they need to go, but Lucía insists that she will not go; so Johny runs off. Meanwhile, Fabricio is trying to stop the SWAT team headed by Montilla…unsuccessfully. Montilla forges on as he tells Fab that they are looking for Johny. Fab tries to get a word in, but Montilla tells him. “Enough! Stop being a bother; I know Johny Corona is there!” Fab admits that Johny is there, so Montilla tells him to get out of the way. Just Bitch slap him, Monty.

Gancho and Marino arrive at Alacrán’s hideout with Mat. Gancho starts to talk to Alacrán who is leaning against a column when LCJ shouts at them to give him their weapons. Both LCJ and Beltrino point their weapons at the goons as Mat tells them to not shoot Gancho because he is on their side and they are there because of Gancho’s help.

Alacrán’s look could kill Gancho as he curses him and wonders how his ‘bro’ could have done this. Gancho retorts that it was Alacrán’s obsession with this broad that put them in this situation. Beltrino comments that not even his men respect Alacrán; he is to be pitied. Alacrán retorts, “Pity? El Chino Valdez would not pity anyone.” After Beltrino agrees, he wants to shoot Alacrán, but his hand trembles, his butterfly starts to bleed and he screams in pain as he grabs his neck. Quick as a whip, Gancho grabs a weapon and shoots his two companions and…ALACRAN!! As LCJ shouts at him to drop his weapon; Eva runs to Alacrán. Gancho holds Mat as a shield and yells that he had to do it…they don’t understand anything about death. He walks backward toward the stairs as Beltrino tells LCJ to lower his weapon since he doesn’t know anything about these situations. Gancho releases Mat and tells Beltrino that he does understand it. After Beltrino nods, Gancho reaches the top of the stairs and runs off. Meanwhile, Eva is crying over Alacrán’s body as Mat watches on.

At the Carvajal house, Lucía is downstairs talking to Montilla and asking why they would be looking for Johny. After Montilla replies that it’s for the murder of Susana, he adds that if Lucía doesn’t want to end up in serious problems, she’d better stop covering for Johny and tell him where he is. Lucía quickly invites Montilla to have the house searched; Johny is not there.

At Juls’s apartment, Val tells Juls that she wants to be with her and thinks that they are destined to be together. If they take her father’s threat seriously, they can’t even be friends. Juls doesn’t want to leave Val. Val understands; it has been incredible…she has never loved anyone as much as she has loved Juls. Juls wants to take the risk, but Val refuses. Juls insists that she is tired and she just wants to tell the whole world. Val would love to tell the whole world, but she can’t do that right now, not with all the problems her family is having. Juls wonders, “What about us?” Val counters, “And what about my family?”

At Barb’s house, Barb is dismissing a client. When the client pays her, Barb tells her it’s too much and returns some of the money. As the client walks away, Barb senses Death close by. When she turns toward the house, she sees Death Chick sitting at her table with the reading cards in her hands. Barb is glad to see her because she has been wanting to ask her something for quite some time…about her friend Beltrino. Death Chick responds, “They didn’t understand why they returned. “ As Barb gets the card Death Chick has handed her, she has a vision of Beltrino laying on the ground covered in blood from his mouth, ears and the butterfly mark.  Barb asks, “Beltrán? Beltrán is going to die?” Death Chick replies, “They both have to return soon.” Barb pleads, “Ma’am, I know they are both somewhat stupid, but they are really trying. Is there any way they could stay somewhere around here? Ma’am?”  What?  is this the returns desk at Kohl's, Barb?

At Alacrán’s hideout, LCJ and Beltrino sit together taking in what just transpired. LCJ couldn’t have done it without Beltrino. Beltrino replies, “You helped me saved my daughter; it was my turn. The way it turns out, I do better with my body and soul separated.” After they laugh about it, LCJ comments that it makes for a good Valdez team.  LCJ then notes that Beltrino had the opportunity to shoot Alacrán and he didn’t. Beltrino can’t explain it. It was something that he felt inside; he doesn’t know what it was, but it was something. LCJ thinks that it was because his butterfly started bleeding, but Beltrino assures him it wasn’t that. He really wanted to pull the trigger, but he couldn’t. All of sudden he thought about how horrible the idea was of taking a human’s life...that’s the way it was. Did I hear a bell?  I know I heard a bell.  Somewhere a Butterfly got it's wings.

Meanwhile inside, Mateo sits by Eva and asks her if she loved Alacrán that much. After she responds that Alacrán just died, Mateo believes that she is not the woman he married; it hurt him very much to discover it this way…she should have been more honest. As he gets up and leaves, LCJ enters and calls to Eva. After she stands and goes to him, he extends his arms and embraces her tightly as she cries.

[Throughout the city, a broadcaster announces that he wonders how everyone will prepare for the impending eclipse which will be he most striking in several years.]

At the Carvajal house, Val and Renata are outside while the house is being searched. When Val tells Renata that Guille is at the company, Renata knows; and she is not there for Guille. She is there for Val. She then tells Val how she overheard the directors at her new workplace making plans to take advantage of the problems within the Carvajal Group. Val can’t imagine what else they could use against her family; so Renata shares that in researching her family, they found out about her relationship with Juls.

Inside the house, Montilla approaches Lucía and tells her that if Johny has threatened her and she is covering for him, she needs to tell him now. Lucía replies that she has already told him the truth…he was there, they argued and he left; she doesn’t know where he went. Montilla warns her that if she is doing something of her own accord, she will suffer for it. Martinez then approaches and tells Montilla that they have searched the house twice and haven’t found Johny. Montilla orders him to search as many times as necessary; Johny has to be there...he couldn’t have escaped when they have the house surrounded.

Lupita goes to Barb’s place, Barb tells her that Beltrino should be arriving soon. When Beltrino arrives and is surprised to see her, Lupita explains that she came to talk to him about something important. Beltrino thinks she came to speak for Juls and Val, but, no, Lupita wants a divorce. When she admits that Pancho asked her to marry him. Beltrino gruffly tells her that that is not going to happen; she is and will continue being HIS woman. (Ex wife or widow, take your pick, tough guy)

LCJ and Eva return home. Eva thanks him for saving her life. LCJ replies that it is the least he could do for his eldest daughter though their relationsip isn’t the best yet. Eva hugs him and cries. Lucía sits quietly in the next room as she watches and waits for what is coming to her. After Eva leaves, LCJ approaches her and comments that he heard the cops were looking for Johny. After Lucía admits that Johny had been there, but he escaped, LCJ wonders why she didn’t leave with him. As Lucía responds that she decided to stay and confront whatever she needs to confront with him, Johny is in the Ratcave watching and listening to their conversation. LCJ is glad that Johny isn’t there because they have some things to clear up. Johny looks at his weapon.

At Barb’s house, Lupita ponders the thought that they may not be married anymore…maybe she is a widow. Beltrino doesn’t want her to say that; she is still his woman. Lupita gently holds Beltrino’s head and tells him to stop and pleads with him to let them be happy.

At the doctor’s office, Alicia and Javier wait for the doctor. Javier thinks Alicia is more nervous than he is and asks if his father will be joining them. Alicia responds that his father had to go to the university, but he should be there any moment. The doctor comes in and tells them he has news for them.

At the Carvajal house, Lucía still has trouble believing that it is León she is talking to, but she now understands how it was that she felt such a great connection to him the first time she saw LCJ.  LCJ thinks she is trying to soften him up, but Lucía assures him that she is just trying to be sincere; it is the least she can do after everything she has done. LCJ wonders how she could have been so cold and calculating; they had their whole lives to look forward to...but everything was a lie. Lucía shakes her head and admits that she has a great fault and she always allowed herself to be manipulated by Johny, but León was not what she expected; and she lost control when she met him. In him, León, she found the best man she could have ever imagined; she fell in love. LCJ questions that she fell in love. After Lucía nods, LCJ wonders why, if she fell in love, she continued her sexual relations with Johny in their own home…why didn’t she stop? She not only did that, she deceived him and his children, she swindled his company, and then she decided to kill him on the day of their wedding. Just then Eva approaches and blurts out that then she did have reason to suspect Lucía. Johny continues to listen attentively. Eva knew that Lucía was responsible for her father’s death; and not just that, Lucía stole her family’s love from her because, instead of believing her, they sided with Lucía. Lucía nods and admits that Eva was right; she asks for her forgiveness. Lucía not only had to deal with her guilt, she had Eva there reminding her of it. Eva is glad that Lucía has finally confessed, but chides her since so many things had to happen before she confessed…her father had to return from the dead. Lucía points out that there are many there who have faults; she thinks that she and Eva are very much alike. Eva denies it; she would never kill anyone…not even when Lucía was in danger did she wish death upon her. LCJ then calmly asks Eva to let him and Lucía finish talking. Eva responds that they can do whatever the heck they want with their lives; she doesn’t care…at this time, she doesn’t care about anything.

At Barb’s place, Lupita and Beltrino sit together and are now calm. Beltrino reflects, “I am so very tired of my own violence; it never brought me anything good. It was just the opposite; it took away what little I had. Thank you, Lupe, you deserve to do with your life what you want.” After she lays her head on his shoulder, he continues, “I hope that some day you can forgive all the bad things I did to you…that I did to both of you.”

LCJ and Lucía enter their bedroom. After they stand and look at each other, Lucía would like to tell him about something. As Johny watches and listens through the camera, Lucía begins her story: “I want you to know where I come from. There is another lie I told you; I told you that my mother had died, but that’s not true. My mother is the person who has done me the most harm; she is sick…because, since I was very young, she would prostitute me. I was raised in a horrible place where, if I wanted to eat or sleep, I had to sleep with men. That is how it was for many years until I was able to run away. I arrived in Mexico City and continued doing the same thing…because that is all I knew how to do. Then I met Johny and got involved with him, and that is where this master plan came in which we both thought we would change our lives.” LCJ deduces, “And you decided to seduce the richest man in this country.” Lucía continues, “Johny taught me to be a refined woman, to be an intelligent woman, to be everything that you like. I met you and I fell in love with you. Everything got out of my hands…when I got to know you and the man you were. I don’t expect that, after knowing all of these things about me, you will forgive me. I know it’s not that easy, but I want to ask you to understand me because I fell in love with you once and also the second time.” LCJ’s starts to soften his look. Lucía adds. “I was not in agreement that Johny kill you. I didn’t know he was going to do it at our wedding; I would have never allowed it. I thought I could salvage everything, that I could change things, and someday tell you about all of this…and I never did it.” Johny rocks back and forth in anger as he listens. LCJ wonders if Lucía knows that what she has told him is not her biggest mistake. He tells her, “Your worst mistake was that, before deciding to marry someone, the first thing you should do is tell your mate about your dark side…because in getting to know you and where you came from and what you have been through, we could have obviously walked together holding hands and the path would have been so much more clear. You and I started at the halfway mark. You had a great man and you could have trusted me, but you made the choice not to do so.” Lucía responds as tears flow, “I was afraid.” LCJ asks as he wipes away his own tears, “Of what?” Lucía replies, “That a man like you would know my dark side. I never thought a man like you would marry someone like me. I thought that once you knew all of this, the only thing you would do is to run away from me. All my life I have been scared. Truly, with you I was at peace. I found love…forgive me.” LCJ gets closer and wipes away Lucía’s tears and tells her, “Lucía, for the first and last time, let’s leave fear behind.” (The music starts and we know he has forgiven her.) Lucía gives him a half smile before he kisses her. In the Ratcave, Johny cocks his weapon.

At Alacrán’s hideout, Montilla and his men are wrapping up their investigation accompanied by Mat. Montilla mentions that ‘Jacobo’ called him and said that there was a gift for him there. When he assumes that LCJ was the one who took out El Alacrán, Mat clarifies that it was one of Alacrán’s own men who shot him and the other two goons; he never found out what the man’s name was.

Val goes into Eva’s room as she lies in bed sobbing. Eva asks Val to forgive her for letting her down; she never meant to do it. Val kneels in front of her and confesses that this is very difficult for her because Eva has been her role model. She doesn’t know all that happened, but she is willing to listen to Eva…and hear all of it. Whatever happens, Val loves Eva and Eva can count on her for whatever. As they share a sisterly hug, Eva cries that she needs Val very much.

At the hospital, Beltrino walks into the doctor’s office. Javier runs and jumps into his arms telling him that he won’t need anymore chemotherapy, After the doctor certifies that the treatment was completely successful, Beltrino looks at Javier with relief and tells Javier, “You see; I told you…so you should know to trust your father.”

At Juls’s apartment, Juls wonders if Lupita really asked Beltrino for a divorce. He is the same “El Chino” since he threatened her…threats are all El Chino knows how to do. Lupita tells her that Beltrino did get upset and yelled at her, but then he calmed down and left; he even told her that she could do whatever she wanted. Juls is surprised and assumes that this thing about changing bodies must have had some kind of effect, but she still thinks that EL Chino may be planning something.

In their bedroom, LCJ and Lucía engage in a very slow and passionate make-up session. As she kisses him, she tells him she loves him…sometimes seeing the real León as she continues.

All the while, Johny watches from the Ratcave. Outside, Silvina and Tiberio wonder what LCJ and Lucía are talking about; they have been in their room a long time. Silvina is afraid of what might happen since she senses the smell of tragedy. As she looks up at the sky, Silvina tells Tiberio that the eclipse is starting…and she has a vision of Johny with a weapon and shooting down at someone. She quickly tells Tiberio to call Montilla and tell him to get back ASAP because Johny is still there. In a panic, Tiberio calls Montilla. Meanwhile, Johny gets his weapon; and as he goes upstairs, Silvina enters and sees him. Inside their bedroom, LCJ and Lucía have freshened up. LCJ sits in a chair fiddling with an origami bird and recalls how he had once asked her what she would come back as if life gave her a second chance. She remembers that she responded, “A bird.” Suddenly, Johny shoots at the lock on the door and enters. After LCJ asks how he entered, Johny reminds LCJ of the day he told him about his secret room…and today he got to witness their beautiful love-making scene. When he tells Lucía that she betrayed him, LCJ responds, “You, talking about betrayal? Johny Corona, five minutes before I got married, you told me ‘Mr. Carvajal, everything I have, I have because of you.’ Five minutes later, a knife cut into my stomach. And you come here and talk about betrayal?” Johny replies, “I gave you the best of me.” LCJ retorts, “Really?” Johny then adds, “I loved you like a father.” He addresses Lucía, “I gave you my life, Lucía. I gave you my life…all my love…always unconditional because you changed my life. I can’t believe it.” After Johny takes a deep breath, Lucía tells him that he needs to accept it….and to understand that this is over. Johny smiles and nods as he rubs his weapon on his face. LCJ tells him to put down the weapon, but Johny puts it into his mouth. As LCJ and Lucía scream at him to stop, Johny quickly points the gun at Lucía and pulls the trigger four times. Lucía falls back onto the couch as LCJ holds her.

LCJ shouts out to Tiberio and Silvina for help as he comes down the stairs carrying Lucía in his arms. As Val and Eva run to him, he tells them to call an ambulance. LCJ runs outside as he tells Lucía to try to remain calm and breath; she cries and moans in pain. LCJ puts her down on the grass calling her name and telling her to keep looking at him and to breathe. Up above, the eclipse advances. LCJ sees Lucía looking up at the heavens, and as he looks up, he sees the eclipse. Lucía continues to cry and gasp as LCJ tries to calm her down and keep her alive.

At Beltrino’s house, Beltrino and Alicia walk out the door to watch the eclipse. As they look up, Beltrino recalls that there was an eclipse on the day that he died; he wonders if his time is up. He thinks that an eclipse brought him back; and maybe the eclipse will take him. They hold hands as they continue to watch.

At the sanatorium, Micaela is looking up at the eclipse when she feels something odd on her neck,  Her butterfly mark transforms into a butterfly and flies away leaving her neck clear. She smiles.

At the Carvajal lawn, LCJ shouts in desperation. He tells Lucía to keep looking at him and to breath. Death Chick watches from a distance and smiles as Lucía takes her last breaths; she quickly walks away as Lucía dies.

LCJ crouches over Lucía as everyone comes out to join him. Candela kneels beside her daughter as Val looks back and sees Johny; she warns her father. The dramatic music starts playing as LCJ stands and walks slowly toward Johny. Resolved to kill the man he saw as his father, Johny starts to point his gun at LCJ…but Montilla has arrived to save the day (or at least part of it). He tells Johny to not move and to drop his weapon; he’d better not try anything. Johny, looking stupefied, slowly puts down his gun and the cops grab him.

Day(s) later—

At the cemetery, Lucía’s casket rests in the middle of a large plot surrounded by manicured trees. Everyone stands around watching as LCJ walks toward the casket and stands as he wipes away his tears. Val whispers to Guille that she cannot believe that Lucía and Johny were behind their father’s death. Guille still can’t believe what Eva did. LCJ kneels beside the casket as he takes an origami bird out of his pocket and places it on the casket. Eva whispers to Mat that she knows he doesn’t want to hear anything about her, but she wants him to know that she is turning herself in to the police the following day; she did a lot of harm, especially to him. Cami goes to LCJ and gently taps him on the shoulder. LCJ stands and goes to a small box decorated with greenery and flowers. He and Guille lift the lid and release 5 white doves.

At Beltrino’s house, Beltrino brings Lupita and Juls to meet Alicia. After he introduces them and Alicia welcomes them, Beltrino tells them that he brought them to tell them that he is tired of all the lies…he can’t live like that anymore. He isn’t sure if life has actually given him a second chance or if this is his end, but he loves them both. He loves Lupita because she is the mother of his daughter; and he loves Alicia because she has taught him how to respect women…not only because of their physical attractiveness, but also because of their intelligence. After he asks them to forgive him, he tells them that somehow they will all have to live as a family. He turns to Lupita and tells her that he will no longer bother them. He then addresses Juls and tells her that she can love whomever she wants. He knows he wasn’t a good father in the past, but he’d like to try it now. Juls is very touched and gives him a hug. Beltrino then tells Lupita that he prepared something for her; it is what started this whole mess and he wants her to have it because they may need it…she can use it to pay for Juls’s studies in fashion design.

Renata takes Guille to see the apartment she found for them. When Guille tells her that he prefers more natural wood, Renata is annoyed at his criticism and and thinks that they are very different; she doesn’t think they will ever agree. Guille thinks that couples don’t always agree on everything; they slowly learn their similarities. After Renata turns her back on him as she argues, Guille calls her name, getting her to turn around. He gets on one knee and proposes. Renata replies with a quiet, “No.” She wants to do things right and proposes that they go off on a trip for a year.

Montilla is at his desk and opens an envelope. Inside he finds a USB and a letter stating that he will find very useful information in the USB. There are names, contacts and evidence to bring down the Cartel de la Sierra. Montilla smiles wide as he continues to read that he should pay special attention to Don Terecio who was Alacrán’s boss.

Val goes on Victoria’s program and announces that she has found out that there is a media company that is wanting to publish a report that involves her and may affect her family and the Carvajal Group. Lupita and Juls listen as Val continues about her father’s death and how she went through a very dark period which led her to turn to alcohol. She is well now because of an incredible person who came into her life. She met her in a park…and, yes, she is in love with a woman…named Juliana Valdez.

At Beltrino’s house, Alicia tells Beltrino how proud she is of him; he was very brave. Beltrino takes it as criticism and points out that he brought Lupita and Juls to prove to her that he no longer is a part of their lives. Alicia wonders if he knows how difficult it is to try to form a life with a man who is not the man she really knows. Beltrino understands how she feels. He is tired of messing up and it is not fair to her to feel obligated to live with a man she didn’t fall in love with. She has a spectacular life and a son…his voice breaks as he tries to find the words to describe her son. Finally, Beltrino tells her that he thinks it’s best that he leave; they will both be fine. He goes to the closet and starts to get his things. Alicia comes and tells him that he has one major fault—he doesn’t let people talk. She wants to take a risk; she likes this man who is rough, eats what he shouldn’t…and most of all, he loves her son above all things…and who likes sex. Beltrino laughs and picks her up as they kiss. She has just one condition; he needs to comb his hair. He then carries her into the bedroom.

LCJ goes to visit Micaela. She knows he is there because he wants to know the clue that the Virgen gave her to be able to deal with everything with some peace. LCJ nods. Micaela was very confused at first; so she turned to the church and would pray for hours. One day, an old woman with a very sweet voice sat beside her and asked if she knew why she had been given a second chance and if she was living her second chance with love or hate. The woman then left. After Micaela tells LCJ that it took her a while to understand, she shows him her clean neck and tells him that hate always brings darkness.

At the Carvajal house, LCJ sits with his children and tells them that, for quite some time, he has tried to figure out the reason why he returned; it was difficult to find out. At first he thought he had returned to seek vengeance on those who had caused him harm, but that was not the case. As things evolved, he found out that he was not a good father; he was convinced that giving them money and gifts was synonymous with love and caring. He was wrong and asks for their forgiveness. He knows he didn’t do things right, especially with Eva. He thought it was enough to teach them that it was sufficient to have siblings, a family and a good husband. Eva comments that she felt very alone and wanted to fill that void; by the time she realized everything she had done, it was too late…it wasn’t her father’s fault. LCJ wants them to know that life does give second chances; and he wants them to give him a second chance. Guille stands, shakes his father’s hand firmly and gives him a hug. Just then, Silvina escorts Montilla and some detectives into the room. Eva knows they are there for her; she was waiting for them.

Guille is at the company meeting with the employees. He expalins that they are sure of the decision they have made. As he walks forward, he continues that the person he has selected to head the company is the best reporter he knows and, above all, an extraordinary person. As LCJ watches proudly, Guille stands before Mat and shakes his hand before presenting him to the employees. Mat gives his speech to thank everyone and tell them that they are his team…this is a victory for freedom of speech and it is only the beginning…no one will keep them quiet; he will make sure of it.

At Barb’s house, Death Chick, wearing a little black dress, welcomes Beltrino, LCJ and Barb. After they are all seated. Beltrino asks, “Why us?” Death Chick responds, “They say that God doesn’t play with dice; neither do I.” When LCJ asks what the purpose of the game was, Death Chick replies, “ Redemption. You have been given a second opportunity in your lives…to correct your mistakes and your spiritual venom.” Barb points out that they did accomplish that. Death Chick tells them to look at their necks. Barb looks and the butterfly marks are gone; she wonders what it means. Death Chick explains that they are deserving of a second chance; everyone deserves it, but the only sure thing they have in life is her, Death.

Camilo finishes his book and concludes that death is not the end, but rather tranformation and change. He was able to witness how death challenged the souls of those who ruined their first chance at life. Death has a plan for everyone.

In prison, JohnyBLooney gives his speech about being proud to be the president of the Carvajal Group to his invisible friends…the rats.

Renata and Guille say their good-byes to Juls and Val before taking off to their year-long trip.

Two Years Later—

Juls, now finishing up he fashion design course, is having her fashion show with Val as one of her models. Lupita , who is wearing a very revealing red lace dress (seamstress must have forgottent the ling!), watches them as they prepare.

Eva is at the visitor’s station in the prison. She is excited to see Mat bring their precious baby girl to visit her.

Beltrino and Alicia sit on the floor of their bedroom watching Javier play with the dog. After Javier goes for some popcorn, Alicia hugs Beltrino and notes that the hard look he used to have is gone. Beltrino wonders what Alicia would do if, one day, some guy would appear at the door and tell her that he has Beltrán Camacho’s soul. Alicia turns somber and looks at Beltrino fearing the thought.

LCJ carries a bouquet a flowers to Lucía’s grave. Cami’s voice tells us that the first day LCJ visited Lucía’s grave, he saw something that bothered him greatly. He saw a path of “cemasuchil” flowers (marigolds: in Mexico, known as the flower of death) like that which would appear at his own grave every morning. Death Chick watches LCJ as Camilo explains that it was the sign that Lucía had transmigrated into another body. A black butterfly lands on LCJ as Camilo tells us that death has a plan for everyone…but so does love.

FIN…or is it?

This is the final recap for this extraordinary telenovela that I almost didn’t watch much less recap. I still remember the ambivalence with which I posted the very first discussion page; I’m so glad I did!! Every aspect of this TN was exquisitely written and portrayed by actors who were outstanding in bringing it to life.

Thank you, JudyB, Adriana Noel, Victoria, Susanlynn, Steve, all the Anons and other loyal commentators and followers/lurkers in this patio who made this so much more enjoyable and rewarding with your kind words, insightful comments and creative perspectives. It was an amazing experience; and I especially loved how great the story and patio turned out to be. This would definitely not have been possible without all of you.

Special thanks to Kirby, Jardinera, Anita, and Urban Anthropologist for helping with such outstanding recaps and support in making sure the patio was well taken care of. Despite the small bump we had toward the beginning and Jane handing the blog over to us—Anita and her helpers—the patio prevailed and stuck together as the family that we are.

With great honor and sincerity,

RgvChick

This was a great TN, I have to commemorate every single actor/actress as they did a fantastic job. However, I have to honor Beltran aka “el chino” as I believe Arturo Barba was the best actor in this show and had the best character and I’m happy he got a nice ending. I would like to thank every single recapper as well for doing an amazing and witty job telling this splendid story.

RGV Chock ——REALLY fabulous recap for the ending of this beloved telenovela!! Thank you so much!
I too had misgivings at the very beginning about whether i could ever get into such an unrealistic TN, but it tuned out to be an all-time favorite.
All you guys did such a marvellous job and i am sooooo grateful!!!
Hope you will be recapping Amar Sin Ley!
Carole. (AMOT)

OMG. I never saw that they wre going to show PREMIOS!! I didnt see it in my guide. Was it not avaialable here in USA?? Darn. I would haved loved seeing that
AMOT

Anon, thank you so much for telling us about the Premios. I knew about it early on but completely forgot to watch it. I’m so glad AAM got all those awards! It certainly deserved it as it is the BEST TN I have ever watched. I am truly going to miss this TN. And you are right about Arturo Barba; he really did a magnificent portrayal of his character.

AMOT, I believe the Premios were only shown in Mexico. Since I live near the Tex/Mex border, there is a station that carries Las Estrellas....and I could have watched it...Darn!!

More tomorrow...

Oh- thanks for letting me know. I think they stopped showing it here in USA 2-3 years ago. I remember watching it every year for a time. VERY UNFAIR. I wonder if Univision will eventually make it available.
And, yes, they certainly deserved all those awards!! I WILL MISS THIS TN!!!
AMOT

OMG, awesome, awesome recap, as they have all been for this tn. This has become one of my favorites, and nowadays they are few and far between. I especially liked that they didn't make it into something as ridiculous as it being somebody's (anybody's) dream, or Camilo's book, or anything along those lines.

You'd better believe that I will be looking for butterfly tattoos on people's necks, especially when they start acting differently!

Just one little thing, though. As much as he used that batcave, I would've enjoyed LCJ figuring it out immediately and busting into that room and knocking Johnny on his a$$!

There are indeed only shown in Mexico but I found my way around it lol. I watched purely out of seeing if Arturo aka “Beltran” was going to win because he’s one of those actors that has been completely ignored by televisa and I was so fking happy when he won as it was his first ever nomination and he won it. I had been following his work since I was 13 and I will turn 18 in a few weeks and does it’s feel damn good that he finally got some recognition. But that’s enough from me and my rant xD

Thank u all for this wonderful community and the love for Telenovelas

Great recape, great episode, sad finale.

"I’m so glad AAM got all those awards! It certainly deserved it as it is the BEST TN I have ever watched. I am truly going to miss this TN."

Rgv Chick, thanks again for reading my mind!!!

Confession, forgiveness, beautiful love scene, but sad ending.

Amar a muerte is Mexican masterpiece in tn world.

My thoughts are so many, that I'll need to comment tommorow?!

First and foremost, a big thank you to our wonderful recappers! RGV, Jardinera, Urban, Kirby and Anita, you made an already interesting story 10 times better.
I couldn't be as present as I would have liked to, but every time I came back I found the same warm group and witty voices - recappers, commenters, what a great community this has been.

After watching the last show I was left with a few questions that a second part could answer to nicely.

I felt a long time ago that Lucia and not LCJ would "die", because she needed her own redemption story. But did her soul transmigrate into the black butterfly on Leon's shoulder at the end or is he still waiting for her to get back to him? Two years is a long time, it could make for a very interesting story.
Does the whole world know that Leon is back? Or he just kept his Jacobo identity for official reasons, while his close ones called him Leon?

Did Eva and Mat reconcile, or are they co-parenting? Yeah, she's in jail, so does that mean that he has custody of the little girl? Is it his daughter?

Watching Guille and Renata or Val and Juls grow into their respective relationships would be great, too.

And what about Leon's body? What was that all about?

RGV Chick: Your recap was AWESOME :)

My personal thoughts:

1.) I had a feeling Lucia was going to get whacked.

2.) Montilla (AKA The Latino Columbo) finally took down Psychopath Johnny & Co.,

3.) Matteo raising Eva's kid & I see freedom of speech won.

4.) Eva finally goes to prison for multiple crimes including her complicity in Gaston's death.

5.) Alcaran FINALLY goes down.

6.) Death Chick was amazing & always smiling. Nice attire she always got.

7.) LCJ & Beltrino make a good tag-team LOL.

8.) Guille & Renata going on an overseas trip.

9.) Adriana: I think they're co-parenting, but I'm assuming Matteo divorced Eva.

10.) Claudia Martin did a Good Job on being the Antagonist as Teflon Eva.

11.) Amazed Beltrino told Juls she can date whoever she wants.

12.) Vale & Juls: Sweet :)

I'm very embarrassed to ask this but my English isn't good.

What did the Death Chick mean when she replied to Barbara:

Barb asks, “Beltrán? Beltrán is going to die?” Death Chick replies, “They both have to return soon."

Return where?

Anon:

Return at that moment meant they had to return to being dead, according to Death Chick. It appears that immediately after that, both of them managed to redeem themselves and from what we saw, she changed her mind.

As for Death Chick, she was pretty much an unknown until this TN, and I hope she shows up again soon. I liked how she had normal skin color and all as she talked with the boys and Barb. Clever.

And thanks to everyone on the patio for helping make this the

BEST
TN
EVER.

Many of these other TNs I have watched over the years sort of just fade back into the TN soup quickly. This one I will remember forever.

What a story and what a production. Superb acting all the way around. You have to believe that they didn't just happen to get a dozen of the greatest actors of all time, so it must be direction and writing combined with great actors. Wow.

Thank you, Anon 11:59, AMOT, Anon 12:45, Anon 2:34, Adriana Noel, and Steve. Your kind words are my adrenaline :-) And thank you so very much, Kirby, for joining me in writing the final recap; your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Anon 12:45, I was so afraid that we were going to be told that this was all a psycho-thriller written by Camilo...similar to what they did to us in "Vuelo de la Victoria"--that was quiet upsetting. I was very satisfied with the ending, especially with the way the writers were so cunning in the way they led us to believe almost to the very end that LCJ and Beltrino were going to be returned to the world of the dead.

I wasn't too sure it was Lucia that was going to die, but it does make sense. Had she lived, she would have been scorned by Leon's family and Leon would have had to choose between the two. With the lessons he learned, he would have had to choose his family. Lucia would also have ended up in jail for conspiring against Leon and aiding Johny in everything that he did; so she is actually better off in someone else's boy...which I am very curious to know exactly what kind of body she inhabite...maybe a much older, plain looking woman??

Adriana, there are so many unanswered questions and loose ends that could lead the path to another season of this show. In addition to what you have already noted, there is Beltran's soul. I thought it very odd and inappropriate that Beltrino would ask Alicia what she would do if some guy would show up claiming that he had Beltran's soul It wasn't the question that was odd, but the timing; he ruined a perfectly relaxed and enjoyable moment for Alicia. There is also the question about (No)S-Bueno and Triple P, the assistant whose name I was never able to figure out until Johny called him to tell him to destroy all his evidence. I also wondered about Leon's body and how it came to disappear after it was buried. I'm wondering if LCJ would have dug up her grave later to see if her body was still there.

I am pretty sure that only the immediate family ended up knowing who "Jacobo" really is. Guille and Val had already commented about the chaos there would be if they announced to the world that their father was still alive, but the his body and soul were living apart.

"And thanks to everyone on the patio for helping make this the

BEST
TN

Wow."

My thoughts exactly. Thank You Kirby and Rgv.

Death Chick & Vale were my favorite characters.

This was my favorite Telenovela ever :)

Gracias, RGVChick. This was a bizarre tale and you gave it an excellent finish.

All performances were excellent, the writing was mostly very good. I wasn't happy that there was confusion about whether Lucia wanted to kill Leon or not.

I'm guessing that the loose ends might be in case they want to do a sequel, but I still would like to have been told that somebody was taking care of Tlyaco when Renata and Guillermo went off to Europe.

They didn't say what Johny's sentence was but I hope it was Life Without Parole.

Did El Chino learn anything about sex from this? I can't believe that both Lupe and Alicia like it rough.

More later. I have something to work on.

RGVChick: A fabulous recounting which I finally got to view live time. I therefore missed a couple of nuances and thank you very much for catching them. Thanks again to all the recapping team and bloggers. I had a hard time with this one and I am glad I stuck with it. It well deserved all those premios. First rate all the way despite my objections at the intent of the writers, though considering their world it makes sense to them. Anyway, it was sad.

I wished two years later Lucia had made her way back to Leo in the body of a woman without a past. It would have lightened the ending a bit.

See y'all round perhaps for the next one. PASL2.

Ok I just want to say this, hi guys.
OMG they've got"por amar sin ley" now.
1:00 to 4:00. So now its a daytime tn?
Omg, now I'm gonna go back and finish reading the recap from the other tn's
Finale. Talk later guys.

Sorry I'm so late to the After-Party. Wish we could keep it going forever. So many things are rumbling around in my head to comment on immediately. Will elaborate later.

Thank you RGV, Kirby for a wonderful wrap-up. Agree that this has been the best TN ever shown Stateside in the last decade (or how long I've been watching). The twists and turns and variety of characters made it hard to recap, but at least is was linear storytelling, not like Caer en Tentacion, which took us back and forth and back and forth, and the characters were all interconnected, not like PASL (which I did enjoy, though the courtroom scenes were unbelievable and the tales too short).

Check your schedules, everyone. I thought I saw Univision advertising Premios TVyNovelas to be broadcast very soon (like a Sunday?). We WILL get to see all the hoopla.

I was disappointed that Leon and Luci couldn't both go off into butterfly heaven together. His job was done. But, we have a glimmer of hope with Micaela as a new close friend. She's a bit too plain and tame for him, but we have to remember she was a DIVA on the opera stage, somewhat humbled now.

My favorite scene--as unexpected as it was--since I was looking forward to another love scene between Leon and Lucia--was the scene in the aftermath of Leon and Beltran's stand-off with the narcos and Gancho disappearing. The two were sitting above it all and they had the biggest, broadest smiles ever shown throughout the whole show.

Thank you for our small, but vocal Patio. It made getting up to join you during these dark cold days a joyful experience. Long may we live!

Nina--They are showing a recapitulation of the first season.

Thank you, Chickie.

I know that most of you here on the patio really loved this telenovela, but it was very difficult for me to watch this death theme unfold at this time in my life. I am probably the only one here that feels kind of relieved that this show and its theme of death is over. I am trying to concentrate every day on living right now.

Like you, Jardinera, I wanted to see Lucia's soul return to her soulmate in a different body.

I continue to cling to my own hope, not in transmutation of souls into other bodies , but rather that love is stronger than death and that we will be reunited with our lives ones after our own deaths.

Rgv Chick, thank you for that gracious and loving epilogue to the recap. Especially this:

"the patio prevailed and stuck together as the family that we are."

You really touched my heart with that one. And thanks Kirby for helping out as you did. These double episodes are exhausting. Especially one as intense and emotional as this one.

I told this story once before concerning another telenovela, but I need to say it again. When a very self-involved, academic colleague of my husband's died, he left this note for his family which was read at the funeral.

I love you. Forgive me. I wanted it to be better.

Those were words that every character in this story could have said. Those are words that everyone of us can say also.

But the beautiful thing was in this story, so many people did get a second chance to "make it better." And don't we all want that?

I was intrigued by so much about this story, and especially that the traditional telenovela wise mentor priest disappeared-- to be replaced by la Muerte, a mysterious unearthly woman, and by la Virgen de Guadalupe (who advised Michaela).

Of course that was only part of what made this story so different. And for me, the transcendental aspect was attractive right from the beginning.

I loved that this story gave hope and was uplifting, even as it brought in every aspect of evil, greed, betrayal and soulless killing.

And of course I loved that Beltrán did get a second chance...to be a good husband and father. And I didn't get the impression that he was a practitioner of "rough sex" as UA noted, but rather just rambunctious and imaginative sex, which is quite different. I still remember one scene where Alicia, under the sheets, was asking "Guau, where did you ever learn THAT?" He was as playful with her as he was with Javier, in a way that her cerebral, low-energy husband couldn't be. So all good.

I do think there are hints that the writers might come up with a sequel and I'm sorry. Because for me this story was perfect and complete in itself. As was the Patio and all our wonderful recappers. Together, it was an unforgettable experience. And it would not have been, had I not been able to share it with all of you.

In closing, just want to say I love the Mexican tradition of a kiss on the cheek when meeting someone. I am sending all of you that kiss and thanking you from the bottom of my heart. This was a wonderful, cherished ride. And we took it together..."as the family that we are".

And congratulations to all the cast who were nominated and also those who won this year's Premios. Esp, AB, MB, Beltran, BARBARA and other's.

Season 2. I believe they flipped the ending to be more ambiguous so they could add a second season, with AB not being able to join in due to prior commitments.

I want Alacran to transmigrate into one of his bunnies that is in Don Terecio's hands, constantly under the threat of becoming wabbit stew.

Thanks to all the amazing recappers! You go beyond my expectations in writing the recaps every day. The best novela ever!Every actor was great in their roles. Silvina, especially. So many favorite scenes.....after the gun battle royals..when the two are smiling and talking.... the bird release. Why didn’t Johny get a real deadly anvil? Prison ? Meh! Blind, disfigured, maybe. Thanks again to the recappers. Could there be a second season? Could Michaela, the Diva and Leon become a couple?

UA, "I'm guessing that the loose ends might be in case they want to do a sequel" I'm guessing that too, but for now, based on interviews I've seen with Michel B and Angelique, there is no hint of a sequel. I agree with JudyB, " this story was perfect and complete in itself." Leaving the loose ends as is gives us each the opportunity to come up with endings for each of them...endings that we are each comfortable with to continue that uplifting feeling and hope. I noticed that when Death Chick gave her final speech and told LCJ and Beltrino that they had been given a second chance, she looked directly at LCJ when she talked about "correcting your mistakes" then she looked directly at Beltrino when she added "spiritual venom." Adding Micaela to the story and having the Virgen de Guadalupe send her a clue is also a clue to all of us that this story was not about Death as a bad omen, but something that will bring transformation and change as Camilo noted; that transformation and change is not only for the person that dies, but all those who were touched by their presence.

Susanlynn, my heart goes out to you. If there is one thing I know, it's that your husband is with you and he sends you signs in so many ways, some of which you have shared with us. Cling to that hope tightly, dear friend, as well as to your RL family and your virtual family who will always be with you in good times and in bad times.

Anon 5:08, "I want Alacran to transmigrate into one of his bunnies that is in Don Terecio's hands, constantly under the threat of becoming wabbit stew." Now THAT I would like to see! :-)

Thanks to our wonderful, dedicated recappers who devoted their tine, effort, and talent to providing us with recaps . Thanks also to those who saved the patio. I am very grateful.

(((Chickie)))thanks for your kind words.

I agree; no seques.

Now... is PASL2 debuting tonight or tomorrow?

I really enjoyed this tn. What I was able to see if it. Work would not allow me to participate much at all. But what I was able to see was good. This show had heart and soul. And all
the actors were superb in the parts they played. I even liked the ending.
Tho it was sad, you want to see the 2
Love interest have a happy ending, and
Maybe they will. We just won't see it.
Love love loved Micheal brown,Id like to see more of him. In tns. He is good
To watch. That Guy that plays johny, I
Don't know his name,he's gettin really Good at his craft of acting. I'd like see him play a good guy,he's gorgeous on The eyes too.
Kirby and Rgv Chick, you guys as always were super superb with the recap as I'm sure were all the others.
Thank you for keepin us entertained.

I was wondering what that bright orange path was leading from lucia's grave. So y'all think he followed it to his 2nd chance with Lucia? At least
She got redemption before checkin out
And into her other body. I wonder where the girl is that was in the body
She will now occupy. We'll never know.

Thank God for second chances eh?

On to the next one. Part 2.

Oh yeah the deathchick, she looked just like the person that played lucifer in"the passion of the christ". I was surpprise when I found out that was a woman that played that part in The movie. Would not be surprised if thats her.

Nina and Anita

PASL 2 is starting out good. First episodes have pulled me in.

Who will be recapping if I may ask?.

I'm the only one so far.

Oh Urban

I could read your recaps and be in awe of your screenshots and captions all day. At least I'm retired and have that option open to me now.

I'm streaming PASL, so I'll appreciate your dedication.

Please tell me we aren't going to shut down Caray if another promising novela does not come along quickly enough?

You should write up your Dark Shadows favorite, and send it Televisa's way.

NiNa, the yellow path of marigolds only meant that Lucia's soul had transmigrated to another body. I'm sure that Leon is worried about where and how she is, but there is no way he can find her. She will have to find her way back to him...if that is her destiny.

UA, the first episode of PASL2 airs tonight.

Premios TVyNovelas will air on Univision on March 17th, 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm (E)

There will be a Post-Script -- or Post-Mortem tomorrow or Friday posted on the front page. If interested, check it out. No hints.

Victoria - Thanks, I'll check PASL2 out, but I can't get too involved.
AAM took my breath away and I need a bit of time to start breathing normally again. I'll have to put Michel Brown and his blue eyes away and look forward, just not yet.

Hmmm, I wonder if Leon kicked Mommie Dearest out of his house. Lucia had actually already given her money, so maybe she just slithered quietly out of sight. I do hope she wasn't deluded enough to try and seduce him! Ugh! Yuck! Can't erase that image now! My bad!

So that's what the yellow path meant. Sure seems like a sequel could happen with another actress since Lucia will transmigrate into another body. Which actress would you like to see in that role ?

I'm a little late but I wanted to stop by to thank the recappers of this novela. You did a great job for a fascinating TN.

I will definitely look for the post-mortem. When I finish a book I usually want to take just a little time to digest what I have read and to think about it a bit. Same with TNs, but Univision, like any other network, wants to keep eyeballs glued to the screen to sell product. That's just the way things are, but I'll pass on PASL2, which is not my cup of tea anyway.

It's actually a sign of how good this TN was that I need time to reflect and am not ready to immediately take up a new one.

Again, my sincere compliments and thanks to all the recappers.

Thanks for dropping by, Andy. I too am looking forward to Anita's post mortem.

Susanlynn, I have been thinking about whom I would like to see in "Lucia's" role if there were to be a sequel. Since Lucia used her youth, looks and body to seduce Leon, I'm thinking that death would want to put her in a body of someone quite the opposite, or made to look quite the opposite...just like Death put El Chino into Beltran's body, a body that El Chino hated. Oooh, how about Silvia Navarro?

Chickie...maybe Susana Gonzales.

Susanlynn, I like Susana too; either one would be good.

Just don't let it be Maite Perroni! One novela with her was enough.

No, not Maite and definitely not Irina Baeva!

Big Thanks to all recappers. Exellent job.

This is best tn ever, and my all-time favorite(second place for LQLVMR).
Sad finale for Lucobo though. Maybe they'll have closure in season 2.

Not Irina, Isn't she the "husband stealer" -- roba maridos -- with Gabriel Soto, post Geraldine Bazán and Marjorie de Sousa, etc. etc.

Administrator Is the above considered gossip? I mean Geraldine is a cast member!
Just joking...

That whole crowd is like alley cats in heat.

Oops...was that out loud?

Notice: Premios TVyNovelas will be broadcast (at least in our area) by Univision on Sunday from 8-10. I've already set my DVR to catch it.

Still have thoughts and feelings reverberating in my own soul. Just looking at the list Anon published of the winners is proof, to me and a few others, that this was an outstanding production in every way. I have to give the writers and directors the credit. They didn't hurry the development of the characters and the story. The actors performed so naturally, I could believe they were real people, living this story.

I've been watching En Tierras Salvajes and was reminded with the debut of PASL2. To watch them is to watch a telenovela y punto. Not that that is wrong, since so many of us watch just to be diverted, entertained and be vocally critical.

AAM was a different production altogether. I'm pleased that my opinion of the work was affirmed by the Mexican public who voted for AAM.

Working on the post-mortem, stay tuned.

AAM brake the "Televisa" record with number of awards. Public recognised quality.

Break not brake:-)
