Mi marido tiene más familia Friday 3/8/19 Capítulo 123 Threats on the Horizon--or--Susana Lowers the Boom

Susana tells Temo when the right moment comes and they let themselves go, it will be something beautiful and he will not have to be afraid. Ari is getting his own romantic advice from Polita and Dani. Dani suggests that Ari and Temo get away to a great spot  that is out of the ordinary for them to shake things up.

Julio wakes up in the middle of the night and sees a  clown that looks like  Sebas. The clown tells him "ya te cargó el payaso" (literally: the clown  has carried you away); in other words,  you are in big trouble. The clown pulls off his covers and Julio starts screaming.  It turns out that it was  a nightmare. Pancho has been sleeping in his room and is there to calm him down when  Julio really wakes up.   He will not any clown hurt him.

Neto finds a stuffed bear for Dani outside the door of the building that was left by Carlos. He  delivers it to Blanca's. Blanca and Dani look upset. Dani opens the envelope trying to see who is is from. It only says it is for Dani and the triplets. Could it be a message from Gabriel? Blanca sadly shakes her head.

Grecia gets another heavy breather phone call. This time the heavy breather is talking. He has found her. It is her stalker Félix.

Luigi meets up with Guido. He has found Neto's ex Ariana.

Neto explains how he found the bear and card outside of the entrance. Dani doesn't have an idea of who would leave a bear for her.  Eugenio comes in and asks if Neto is going to have breakfast with them. Neto says no. He was  on his way to the gym. Just as he is about to leave, Pancho and Susana drop by Blanca's. They have a project that they want to include the family in on. Eugenio informs  Susana that Neto is her nephew. Blanca gives little smile and nods.

Luigi inquires why Guido is so interested in Neto's ex. Guido explains that Neto's kids have the hope fo seeing their mother again. There is nothing worse that to leave them without hope. He thinks it is really curious how everyone thinks that "family" is the reason for their happiness. Families are overrated. Guido thinks Neto destroyed his family because he worked too much. So, Guido is paying him back. Luigi wonders when Guido will let the truth out about the DNA test. Guido plans on doing that when Neto is completely involved in his new family. Guido will kill all of Neto's hope when he realizes that everything he thinks is true is a lie. Guido wants to destroy his family.

Susana is surprised she now has more nieces and nephews. She says that Eugenio will have to explain to her what branch of the family Neto belongs to. As Eugenio starts to explain, Blanca suggests they do it over breakfast.  She always has coffee and sweet rolls in her home.

Grecia talks on the phone with Félix. She tells him to leave her in peace. He says she should be asking him where he is calling from.  He knows she is in Oaxaca and is closer than she thinks. She drops her juice class she is so upset. Crisanta comes in to see what is going on. She asks Grecia what is going on.

Neto tells Dani that he is sorry for upsetting her with the bear. He is only there to help her and his nieces and nephew. Dani doesn't believe in spirits but how would it just appear out of nowhere. She is shook. Neto doesn't understand why a bear wold upset her.  Dani explains how she and Gabriela always called themselves "bears".  She is confused. Neto tells her there doesn't have to be a reason and reminds her it is only a gift. They both go down to the entrance of the building to see if they can find anymore clues. In the meantime, Carlos has come by to see if the bear was picked up and he is happy when he sees it is gone. He goes in the bakery and is talked into the "two for one "hot chocolate deal. by Carla.  He will take it. There  are suddenly lots of reasons to stop by  this building since it is right on his way to work.

Susana has a "got it" moment when she remarks that Neto is Eugenio's child from his past love. Blanca looks uncomfortable. Eugenio explains that it has had an effect on his whole  family and how lucky his has been that his wife and other children have understood. Blanca wants to change the topic and tells everyone to help themselves to some sweet rolls. Susana and Pancho explain the "Flower of Oaxaca" project and how with everyone's participation it could bring the families even more together.   Since it is a talent contrast, for girls from Oaxaca, Frida could participate. Dani could be the master of ceremonies. Blanca could be in charge of food. Linda could be in charge of styling the participants. They have an idea for Neto.  Eugenio wonders what he can do. He can be a judge. Susana doesn't want them to repeat the mistakes of the past but for all of the families to be united as her father would have wanted.

Still outside, Neto shows Dani where the bear was placed at the door. Dani finally agrees it is no big deal.  Neto tells her that he is there if she needs him.  Dani admits that even though she has lots of family around her, she  still cannot avoid feeling all alone without Gabriel. Gabriel has always wanted  a family with brothers and sisters. He is there to care and protect her. They hug. As Pablo leaves the bakery with his "two for one"hot chocolates, he sees them in each others' arms and Neto's bulging biceps. He is suddenly self-conscious of his own physical appearance.  He looks sad as he goes on his way.

Crisanta talks to Grecia as a mother and wants to know what is going on..Grecia explains that it is a very complicated story and only Susana knows. It is too much to go into to. Grecia asks Crisanta to tell her something to distract her. Crisanta has no light hearted news. Since Massimo has gone so is her hope. Now she is left feeling like a nuisance to her family.

Polita sits down to breakfast with her two sons. They are all happy. Polita was pleased to see Audifaz acting like his old self. Ari asks if she thinks Audi has really changed. Polita seriously does not know because he has not done anything to get close to Ari or to tell him that he now accepts him as he is. Ari is sorry that things are so estranged but thinks that the family is a little closer. He thinks back on fond memories of the old Audi. Ari hopes his father keeps reflecting as he said he was going to. Polita hopes so but she will not believe Ari has really repented until the day he can accept Ari.

Grecia gives Crisanta a pep talk.  There is no way that Crisanta is a nuisance and women should never let their value be determined by a man. Crisanta contributes to the whole family. Crisanta understands that but everyone has their own lives. Susana is with Pancho; Axel has his work, etc. Grecia gets it. A person has to have a reason to get up and get going but that doesn't have to be a man.  Grecia thinks Crisanta should find out what she really needs and then go after it.

Temo joins Ari for breakfast. They are all happy. Polita wants to talk to them about something serious before they go to school.

Back at the breakfast at Blanca's, Dani finds out about being the master of ceremonies. She is her usual hesitant self until Susana reminds her that she has already done it perfectly at their wedding. She agrees to do it. Neto is to be in charge of the adult cocktails. Eugenio thanks Susana for not forgetting Canuto's mission.  Susana is looking forward to being at an event where they all can connect.

Polita talks to  Ari and Temo about their experience with Rufo. She tells them that  times are changing and that men and women are not under the same rules as they were in the past. The boys are free to be however they want to be. They all agree that the heart never makes a mistake. Ari thanks Polita for having taught him everything.

At home with Neto, Yolo finds out that they are related to Pancho and Susana. The fact that they have more family is like an endless a horror movie for her.  She cannot take it. The twins are not happy either. Neto tells them that tomorrow there is a big family get together. He wants them to come to get to know everyone better. The Mussi's, his bosses, are coming, too. It is important they are there to support him. Yolo smirks and asks if Nonno and Guido will be there. When Neto says yes, she suddenly says she will think about it. Yolo proclaims it is time to go to school.

Temo and Ari are on the same wavelength and in unison  as each asks the other out on a "surprise" date. They laugh.  They talk about what they would like to do. It will be another day to smile because they are together.

At school, Sebas tells all of the kids he is coming down with the flu so he won't be swimming in preparation for the competitions. He cannot get undressed feeling like he does. The kids don't believe him. The twins arrive with Yolo and the kids shout insults at each other. Yolo and Frida leave to go see about dance class.

At the bakery, Eugenio and Audi sit down to discuss the whole Yolotl issue from the past. Eugenio says he knew that Audi could have been Neto's father.  Audi has mixed feelings but feels guilty about what happened and that he fell in love with Yolotl.  Eugenio says the most important thing now is to include Neto in the family.

At school, Neto tells Grecia that finally his kids records have come from the USA so now he will be able to talk to Diana about  applying for financing.  Grecia knows he will be paying through the nose due to the interest he will be charged. Neto knows that but doesn't have another choice. He notices her tattoo behind her ear and wants to know what it means. She explains that she got it to overcome her past; a past that will not leave her in peace. Neto wants to know what is going on. She finally tells him that Félix called her and that he knew she was in Oaxaca and he was closer than he thought.

A desperate Diana asks for Dani's help in getting all of the family with the kids together. She has an announcement to make. Dani tells her that  the family get together tomorrow night. Diana asks if Dani could invite Catalina, Hugo and Tavo and her.

Pablo is at work still wondering about the guy hugging Dani and the size of his biceps. He is so distracted a little girl patient named Susi asks if he is okay. He apologizes and admits he was on the moon.  The nurse says they both noticed.

At the office, Pancho is putting Axel  in charge of light, sound, flowers, music and joy!!!. Axel is confused about what to call him. Pancho suggests plain old  "Pancho".  Susana comes in to go over the event planning but admits she is thinking about Temo. Pancho is happy that she is getting closer to him.  She tells Pancho that Temo came to her for some advice because  he wants to get away alone with Ari. She suggested a "field trip" day for just the two of them.  Pancho is taken aback by the idea focusing on that there would be just the two of them alone.

In the classroom before class begins,  Ari and Temo discuss their romantic date for tomorrow.  Yolo overhears and asks if it is going to be their "first time". The whole class howls and laughs. For once, Yolo looks uncomfortable.

Neto tells a crying Grecia that he would hug her if she wasn't at work.  She needs to remember that he will take care of her. If Félix wants to get to her he will have to come through him first. He swears that she is not alone.

Eugenio tells Audi that the news that Neto is his son is complicated enough without them making it more difficult. Audi agrees not to say anything to Neto. Eugenio has his word.

Ari gets up and informs Yolo they wouldn't be discussing that. Temo asks if she is still gong to bother them.  She says no but she didn't really mean anything. It  seemed like an interesting comment. She apologizes for being mean.  She knows they are family. She makes a point of telling Temo that she is not interested in Ari. They are family and it would be weird to hook up with her uncle.  Since they are family, at least they should try to be friends. Ari suggests she call him Uncle Ari.  Diana comes in to tell the class that tonight they will all receive an important e-mail.

Neto asks Grecia if she has any way of finding out where Félix was. Greta explains that the calls come though her cell phone from an unknown number.  Neto wants to know if he contacts her again. He also advises her to be careful and not leave school alone at least for today.

Pancho thinks that Temo is way too young to go off with his novio. Susana doesn't think that Temo is a child anymore.  Pancho disagrees and thinks that Temo is a long way from being an adult and that there are certain experiences he is not ready for yet.  She asks him what those would be.  Pancho can't say but he doesn't like the idea of the two of them being alone together all of that time. Susana asks how old Pancho was when he had his firs novia. Was he seventeen? Less? She is shocked! She doesn't think that "anything" is going to happen because they are going to be alone on a date. Pancho is exaggerating.  He disagrees when it comes to their children.  Susana says fine. Then HE needs to talk to HIS son about protecting himself from STD's. Pancho says no. He is not changing his mind. He will not let them go out together unless they are accompanied.  Susana apologizes ahead of what she is going to say but she never realized how close minded Pancho was.  Pancho sees himself as being responsible. She says okay; he says he is responsible.  Well she is glad that he is because they have something to talk over right now. She needs him to reduce his spending on the Oaxaca project.  If he doesn't lower the costs, there will be no event. How does he like that?

Hugo asks Catalina why they are invited over to Blanca's  tonight.  She has no idea but is happy to visit while Julieta is away. She asks about Diana.  Hugo cannot forgive her because she hurt him a lot.

Dani talks to Guido about pushing their mezcal at the "Flower of Oaxaca" event.  She then tells him about the bear being left and how strange she feels about it. He asks if she thinks it was Gabriel who left it. She says no but it is really odd. She tells him about Neto being her brother. Guido pretends to be surprised. She is feeling a little confused by it all.

Pablo is still wondering about the Dani situation. Susi tells him to sit down and gives him advice. She tells Pablo she is a "doctor of the heart."

Dani tells Guido about an idea she has for making special numbered wooden  boxes for the commemorative mezcal so their product can be distinguished from the others. Both Guido and Nonno love the idea. Dani is so talented. Neto is also there. Nonno has a special mission for Neto.  Nonno wants Dani to collaborate with Neto for the best possible result. Neto is to be in charge of creating the commemorative mezcal in honor of Gabriel. Neto sees that as a great honor.  Nonno is aware that Neto  knows more about mezcal than anyone at the  company and  with the right certification,  he could  end up being their master mezcal maker.  Guido is fuming but he keeps himself under control. Neto is to be in charge of the mezcal and Dani in charge of the packaging.

Susana and Pancho are arguing about the "Flower of Oaxaca " project.  She admits they still have a lot of work ahead of them. He is upset that she is only thinking about the money. She explains that  she was hired as the administrative vice president and as such it is her job to maximize the profit of all proposals. Is there anything else he wants to discuss?

Comments:
Well, tonight was the first night I heard "últimas semanas" (last weeks) in reference to this novela.

My favorite parts were Julio and his clown nightmare, Pablo noticing Neto's bulging biceps and Susana letting "responsible" Pancho have it.

Yay! Imelda must have been asleep when they were all talking over the early breakfast at Banca's. That was a welcome break.

Yikes! Últimas semanas! And 'Amar a Muerte' ends with a two hour special on Monday. What's a TN viewer to do? Actually, I'm glad. I have enjoyed 'Amar a Muerte' despite the narco violence and its being rather silly, but enough! I will also miss 'Mi Marido...', but we'll see what the replacement will be. I'm not interested in 'Por amar sin ley' and I'm not unhappy about that. Two TNs a night for me is a lot, and all I do is watch them and then read the recaps to find out what I watched; but it's exhausting.

When I realize I'm all done in from watching a TN I really appreciate how much hard work it is to watch and write up a recap, not being able to say "I'm tired, I'll watch and write it up when the weekend comes."

So thanks once again, Jarifa :-)

I'm glad that Dani didn't think the bear was from Gabriel because she is at the stage where she might just. Or she might "see" him in different places where they would often meet or get together.

Ari and Temo, meh. But Pancho needs to calm down, there is no way either one will get pregnant.

8-)

Andy, your final comment is so true and so funny. Anyway, it looks like we have around 5 weeks left. ITA that watching two novelas a night is a BIG time commitment. “Amar a muerte” looked like one where you had to really pay attention. It will be interesting to see what follows in the “Mi marido . . . “ slot. I hope it is something easy to watch like “Mi marido . . . “ has been. La Reina del Sur 2 is also starting in late April. I always said I didn’t like narco novelas or extreme violence but La Reina del Sur changed my mind when I binge watched it a couple years back and really liked it. The theme song is still stuck in my brain whenever I think about the show. You are more than welcome for the recaps. They have been fun to write for this one.

Jarifa: Guido is on a roll.

Jarifa, your carefully crafted recaps continue to be a highlight of my day.

As Neto continues to assimilate into his "new" family, Guido is plotting to fracture it. Perhaps Guido hasn't realized "blood" is not the only component that makes a family. Love, affection and devotion are not exclusive to "traditional" families.

"This time the heavy breather is talking". And threatening...Beyond disturbing. While Neto's intention to protect Grecia is honorable, he cannot be with her 24/7. That is the danger.

"Neto's bulging biceps" was my favorite. Dr. Carlos had the good sense to realize there's no contest. No contest. Even Luigi's flexing his muscles paled in comparison :)

I'm enjoying that everyone is working together on the festivities. Strength in unity certainly.

Andy, laughed out loud at your comment too. I think Temo and Ari will find their way.

When I saw the Neto and Audi shot where they were simultaneously stroking their facial hair, I wondered if the writers are toying with us.

I will hate to see this end.

I hope everyone has a good day. Sunshine here and more snow/rain tomorrow.

Jarifa, you are the best. Thank you.

Diana

Thanks, Diana, for your kind comments. What bothered me last night was all about about Grecia in that she wasn’t honest with Crisanta about the Félix situation. I think she owed her that much since she is living in her home and Félix seems to know where she is. Also, although I know it is against telenovela rules, Grecia should have called the police ASAP. She has made herself into the proverbial sitting 🦆. Today we are cloudy, about 40 and rainy this afternoon. The good thing is it isn’t snow.

I appreciated your explaining Grecia sidestepped and didn't tell Cris the truth Jarifa. And yes that puts Cris in a very vulnerable position (along with everyone else living there now).

Cris has it "over" Imelda in every conceivable way. Nonno preferring Imelda is just ridiculous.

Looking forward to Doris' return and to hearing from Niecie soon...

Diana

Me, too!

Thanks Jarifa...I especially loved the "Susana lowers the Boom" part of your title. She did indeed. And thanks for the explanation of the meaning of "ya te cargó el payaso". That one passed me by completely.

Wish I found the new doctor more attractive. Just can't get excited about him as a pareja for Dani, but looks like that's where this is going. I did KNOW in my bones, that he was going to see Neto and Dani hugging...after a gazillion telenovelas, that was a pretty sure prediction.

I happened to be looking at an old Spanish book the other day and it encapsulated this novela beautifully. It said that in Hispanic culture, The Family is the basic unit, whereas in the culture of the United States it is The Individual

Suddenly all the themes of this story, some of which seem overdone, made perfect sense to me. And I do think Audifaz is going to be revealed as the actual father of Ernesto. Not just the stroking of the beard, but the closed fist and then open palm gesture. BIG SIGN ON LA LLAMADA DE LA SANGRE!

Well, here we go. Whether that will soften up Audifaz' attitudes on life...we shall see.

JudyB, great comment on the focus on family in Hispanic culture.. As for “ya te cargó el payaso” 🤡 there are much more colorful translations. I decided to be judicious and tasteful in mine.

Great recap as usual, Jarifa! Guido has actually done the Rey/Corcega family a favor with the fake DNA test. Yolo has stopped trying to flirt with Ari, because she thinks he's a relative and is being nice to Frida because she thinks she's a relative. Frida can no longer have a crush on Andi and Santi because she thinks they're her cousins. So a lot of unpleasant and annoying situations averted.

Thank you, jarifa. I fell asleep and missed this episode, so I Especially appreciate your recap.

Poor Grecia and those horrible phone calls. I agree that she has an obligation to tell crisanta....and the police ,but we know tendonitis characters do the logical things.

I am anxious to see what our next telenovela will be and if I will recognize any of the actors.

A very 🌞sunshine day here in the high 40s. My daughter and I took new puppy Ellie for a,walk in the local park. Rain starting tonight. 40s and 50s next week...60 next Saturday ! Bring on the spring. I put my spring wreath on the front door on March 1st despite the snow.

SpanProf, I like your analysis. It might be the only “good” thing Guido does albeit inadvertently.

Susanlynn, glad the recap was useful. I am with you. I just put out my Easter decorations. They make me feel spring-ish in the midst of the cold windy weather. Yay! We get to spring ahead tonight!!

I guess Doña Flor y sus Dos Maridos will be next.

Jarifa, great job as usual and your title "Susana lowers the boom" was perfect!

I am kind of sad that we are in the "ultimas semanas" of this show. I have enjoyed this show so much. I love family shows that are also comedies that show lots of love between the family which has been done, if we leave out Audifaz and Imelda.

I am enjoying Crisanta's motherly ways so much. It makes me wish I had a mother like her to carry me through the rough times. My mother was more like Imelda with me. ;)

Someone mentioned about Neto and Audi stroking their facial hair--well I used to see Gabe Soto do it constantly in "Vino el Amor" and wondered if his beard hair was itching him. Sometimes It was just annoying, but sometimes it looked like a tic.

Cynthia, I feel the same way about the end of the novela being in sight. For me, this has been a “comfy” show that I have never lost interest in watching or recapping. Maybe that is the secret of success: to leave the viewer still wanting more.

OT - I see Sin Tu Mirada is coming after En Tierras Salvajes. Who’s watching?

Cynthia: Big question is whether Daniel Arenas & Zuria Vega get their expletives back to the DF & IF they find out about Psychopath Guido adding people to a growing Body Count ?

Yay! It's back to Oaxaca tonight!

It has been a long weekend because of AAM, and I needed to be "retrained." Well, reminded of what happened last week.

Recap to the rescue!

:-)

See y'all after the show :-)
