Mi marido tiene más familia Wednesday 3/6/19 Capítulo 121 Polita's Very Good Day--OR--Pancho and Neto Cannot Catch a Break

Bouquets of different colored roses are being delivered to Imelda. She is looking for a gift card to see who they are from. She doesn't have to wait long since Nonno follows the roses and he has the gift card: The roses are in different colors because he didn't know her favorite/ He hopes she will forgive him and will understand that he loves her/He wants to capture her heart again.

Guido is in his office thinking of Yolo. He calls her and they flirt on the phone. She says that she played some mind games with her father who ended up paying for the room and now she is being punished for not coming home last night.  Guido clarifies that the room was technically paid for;  it was "comped" by a friend who is the manager. He asks if her father has any idea of what is going on between them.  She explains at first he seemed to know but she convinced him that Guido was not involved. Her father said  that he was a bad influence and that she should stay away from him.  Guido insists that he only wants to know her better. She wants to get to know him, too, but they will have to do it on the sly. He suggests they chat and write so she won't get lost. They both are going to be thinking of each other.

Neto thinks back on telling his ex-wife that it would not be a good idea to see the kids after not seeing them for so long.

Guido calls Luigi. They need to find woman  named Ariana Castillo.

Imelda thinks the flowers are precious but makes it clear that nothing can win her back because Nonno betrayed her. Nonno will not stop until she give him the honor of being his wife. Imelda laughs and laughs. She tells him to get out and snatches the last bouquet of roses he is holding before he leaves.

Blanca and her family are on their way home from the successful fan gathering when Dani gets a text that Pancho paid Polita's bail. They are all happy.

Neto is stopping off at home and runs into Blanca and the family outside of the apartment building. Eugenio asks how Yolo is doing. He explains that things are not going well with Yolo right now but  he is hoping for a change in attitude. Blanca invites him to the special supper she is making for Polita.  Neto accepts the invitation and as he leaves, Carlos arrives with a gift bag. He introduces himself to the family as the triplets' pediatrician. Dani looks uncomfortable.

Back at the police station, Temo talks about love always winning and about how he and Ari will have to stay together and change minds. Ari thanks him for being there for him at this bad time.Temo promises to be there with him their whole life  if Ari allows him. Ari says he would love to. They are all anxious to see Polita.

Pancho tells Eduardo the lawyer and Audi that he would pay a thousand times more than what he did because Polita is his in law and his friend. Polita comes out of custody and Ari hugs her. Pancho smiles and Audi stares.

At Susana's, Julio goes to see Sebas in his room to see why he stayed home from school. He thinks he smells something  but Sebas is covered up by his blankets. Julio pulls off the blankets and discovers that Sebas is the one who smells really bad.

At Blanca's, everyone is saying goodbye to Linda and Dave. She is going to take him to join his parents in Africa. Linda promises to bring them back all of the Oppa gossip.  Eugenio asks Linda and Dave not to say anything to Robert about his Alzheimer's. Eugenio will tell them when Robert and Julieta  are back home. Dave has letters from everyone including one from Lupita with her perfume on it. They leave.

Carlos is still talking to Dani on the street. Since he didn't know when he would see the triplets again, he decided to bring them a gift. Dani tells him he shouldn't have bothered. It was he is pleasure. It is a humidifier in the shape of a bear. When Dani sees it is a bear,  she starts to cry. Carlos asks if he did something wrong.

At school, Ernie talks to Grecia. He tells her that his ex called and that he has not told his children.  He is aggravated that after all of this time of ignoring the children, she suddenly wants to see them. Grecia tells him that he has to tell the children and leave it up to them if they want to see her or not.  Suddenly turning witchy, Grecia suggests that Neto not wanting to see his ex has more to do about protecting himself from what he might feel,

Dani explains that the gift reminded her of Gabriel. She thanks him for the gift. Carlos explains that he never wanted to make her feel bad; he only wanted to support her.  As Linda and Dave are leaving the building for the airport,  they  run into Dani and Carlos. Much to Dani's shock, Linda tells Carlos to watch over Dani while she is away. He agrees. He will be there for whatever she needs. Dani quickly insists that he needn't bother. He assure her it will be no bother.  Dani, Linda and Dave share one last hug. Carlos stands apart from them and smiles.

Still at the police station, Ari explains to Polita  that Pancho paid her bail and that Audi asked him to. Audi insists that he merely was borrowing the money from Pancho and that he would be paying him back. Polita could accept it as his payment for all of the money he never gave her. Polita informs him that this has nothing to do with him and she will take care of it herself.  She thanks Ari for his support and thanks Pancho. They hug. Pancho says it was nothing because she is his in law.  Before they leave for home Eduardo tells Polita that even though she  is out, this isn't over.  He wants her to cancel her subscription with the juice drink company ASAP so no more juice drinks get delivered to her   Polita as well as  Ari and Temo agree that none of them will be seeing Rufo again.

Back in Sebas' room, all Julio can say is EWWWW! Sebas really stinks! Sebas and Julio argue about who is stinking and who isn't. Julio says the reason he didn't go to school was because of the scary monster from the movie. Sebas corrects him. It was a clown.  Julio says it was a monster clown. Sebas blames Julio for stinking things up. Julio starts to wonder if it is really him who is the stinker.

At work, Susana makes sure that Catalina is going to have her presentation ready for the Korean investor group. Catalina says that won't be necessary because the investors only want to meet with Pancho. Susana is livid.

Neto assures Grecia that everything he felt for Ariana is completely forgotten and buried. She says that if that were the case he wouldn't be so affected by her phone all.  He explains he is reacting like he is not because he still feels something for her but because she has the nerve to leave them like she did and now just pop up like nothing happened. Grecia decides it really doesn't matter since she and Neto are only friends. She decides to go to class.  She and Neto bump heads. Grecia is not a happy camper.

Carlos expresses his desire to see a little more of Dani. They could just get some coffee and sweet rolls. Dani finds a convenient excuse by saying she just doesn't have much time. Carlos understands that. He says they can see each other if she has a free moment or when she brings the babies to the doctor. She smiles and thanks him for the gift. Carlos is left smiling, too.

Diana visits Hugo at home where he is mopping the floors and listening to sad love songs.  She wants him to stop working and talk to her. He won't. Diana begs him for another chance. He tells her that she started it all and asks her to leave.

Dani is with Blanca in the kitchen as she prepares Polita's favorite soup: sopa de guías (A Oaxacan soup with chunks of corn on the cob, squash vines and flowers) with chochoyotes (corn meal dumplings).  Dani asks Blanca if she is not nervous with Neto coming over so quickly again. Blanca admits that she is doing it for Eugenio. Neto is a Córcega just as much as any of them so it  is inevitable. Dani expresses her admiration for her mother.  Blanca doesn't see anything to admire. Love should be unconditional. Blanca asks her about Carlos. He seems like a nice guy. Dani admits he is really a good person.  Blanca thinks that Carlos looks  Dani in a special kind of way.   Dani tells her mother she is hoping for something that is not there. Carlos is just a doctor that is interested in her babies.

Pancho stops by Susana's office where he finds her with a lollipop. She is not interested in any jokes. There is no problem with his "Flower of Oaxaca" idea. She knows he has it  all under control and she has no doubts about his ability.  The problem is that he is starting to replace her without him even realizing it. She tells him that now the Korean investors want to meet ONLY with him. His presence in this office is giving way to machismo against which she has fought so hard her entire life. That is the very reason she has everyone call her "Máster" Susana. That is why she is so punctual, demanding and professional.  She has done all of this because it is very hard for a woman to attain a position in a company and to have the same voice as a man.  Pancho explains that his only intention when he came into the business it was to help her and to value the work of all of the employees.  Susana says that might have been his intention but there is a conflict. The truth of the matter is that they respect him more than they do her simply because he is a man.  He gained so much ground in just days when it has taken her years. Pancho understands what she is saying and offers to  tell the Korean investors that he will not be meeting with them unless she is there.  Susana says no because he cannot  lose this investment. Their hands are tied on this one.

Blanca is still in the kitchen now with Frida. Blanca is also making tasajo (dried beef). She thinks Polita is going to be really happy. She wants Frida to help but Frida is  so busy looking at the requirements for "The Most Beautiful Flower of Oaxaca" contest that she is useless.  She tells Blanca that even nine year olds can enter.  Blanca says it all sounds lovely but Frida is a little young to participate in this kind of contest that tend to be very superficial. Frida explains that the contest is not  only decided on beauty but also on good qualities and abilities.  The contestants  have to know al ot about Oaxaca, too.  That seems to change Blanca's point of view. She says she will sign for Frida to enter.

Pancho meets with the Korean investors about "The Flower of Oaxaca" contest and explains that not only the brand will be showcased but also the traditions of Oaxaca. The Korean investors love the idea and they accept the project.  Pancho tells them there is only one condition. Máster Susana has to participate in the project's execution. The leader of the investor group says no. Pancho has to do it by himself. They have other plans for Susana. Pancho asks how can they have an event for women without a woman heading it up.   They give Pancho an ultimatum: either he does the project alone or the project is dead.

As Blanca wonders where all of the roses came from, Polita comes in and everyone showers her with confetti. Blanca is so excited to see Polita. She made Polita all of her favorites including salsa de chicatana (flying ant sauce). Polita is so grateful and has so much to tell Blanca. The celeratory mood is broken when Imelda comes in.

Neto tells the kids that he really needs to spend time with the Córcega's his family.  He tells them they all have been invited to a get together and he thinks they all should go fro just a little while. Yolo isn't going and will be working on her homework.  Yolo doesn't think he should force her brothers to go either.  Neto tells them that sooner or later they will have to accept their roots. Yolo rolls her eyes.

Imelda tries to explain herself to Polita by telling her she never wished Polita any ill. Polita says that Imelda is lying because if she really didn't wish her will she never would have separated her from her child. Ari agrees that Imelda could not have done anything worse. Polita would prefer to be in jail than to be separated from Arqui. Dani tries to stop her from saying more saying that they will help her find a solution. Blanca announces it is time to eat. There is knock at the door and it is Arqui with his father.  Arqui is crying. Audi tells him to look at his mother. She is right here.  Imelda wants to know what they are doing there. Audi cannot take knowing that "his" Polita is suffering like she is.  Imelda tells him to think about what he is doing. Audi has thought about it already and he is there to return Arqui to his mother so he can live with her as he should be living. A child should not be crying.

Grecia intercepts Neto in the hall as he is going to Blanca's. She apologizes for their earlier interaction. The truth of the matter is that she was jealous when he told her that his ex had called.  That made her realize that she likes him more, no she loves him more than she thought she did.  This has been a gigantic step for her to actually feel love again thanks to him. He grabs her and kisses her. Yolo catches them.

Imelda tries to convince Audi that Arqui should be with him for his own good. Audio will not be dissuaded, Arqui belongs with "his" Polita.

Yolo immediately tells Neto he isn't going to be there to take care of them.  He says that would never happen.  He explains that Grecia has turned out to be a great support for him and a friend. Yolo points out that you don't kiss your "friends". Grecia starts to talk and Yolo tells her to butt out. Neto tries to calm Yolo down and tells her not to talk to Grecia like she did. Yolo makes the point that if he is with Grecia, that means he doesn't love their mother anymore.

Pancho tells Susana that he agreed to the Korean investor's condition and that she should not take it personally. She doesn't see that as a possibility. Pancho reminds her that she said that he couldn't lose the investors. Susana is stuck on the fact that women  have always run the company and now he has come in and is supporting machismo.  Susana thought he was a businessman who supported women and she wishes he would have taken her part. She is  really disappointed. She is going home. Pancho is upset.

Imelda rants on about it being proven that Polita wasn't taking care of Arqui. Audi is throwing it all overboard. Audi says that Polita has always been a great mother and did her utmost for her children. They never had money.  He realizes they divorced but that doesn't mean that he still doesn't worry about his family or has stopped loving them.  Audi is going to talk to the judge and tell him to legally give custody of Arqui back to Polita.

Grecia informs Yolo that she has no idea of what happened between her parents but she has no intention of trying to take her mother's place.  Yolo thinks that is good because she couldn't take her mother's place. Grecia also informs Yolo that she is no longer a little girl. She needs to realize that her father has the right to rebuild his life if that is what he decides to do. Yolo asks if they are planning on rebuilding their lives together. Grecia says she has no idea what the future holds. Neto explains that he and Grecia love each other. They hadn't said anything because they have been working through their own feelings. That shuts Yolo up. Neto thinks that love is always something positive.  Yolo begs her father to wait a while before moving on in case her mother comes back. They could get back together. Neto reminds her that her mother left them. She was the one who went away. She abandoned all four of them. Yolo enraged says that in spite of everything, her mother will always be her mother. Yolo will love only her. She leaves. Neto goes after her. Grecia is left alone and upset.

This just keeps zipping along.

My favorite scene tonight was Julio and Sebas and the stench and who was the real stinker. Typical kid stuff.

Finally, Audi pried himself away from mommy Imelda to make his own decision. Shock of shocks! Cold this be the start of a better Audifaz?

So Linda is being trusted to dliver Dave to the Oppas in Africa. I guess it will be okay because there is no Axel around to distract her.

Thanks, Jarifa! A fun read, with a lot going on. One thing has me concerned. My little heart-throb, Lupita, is already into perfume? And her "novio" Dave is being shuttled off to Africa? We may just have to lock that girl in the house for the next 10 -15 years to keep her out of trouble.

Dr Carlos must really be smitten. While Dani has always been a real babe, dressed as she was tonight and looking like she was sporting a bustle, I would have understood had he just run away.

OK, just kidding, but that was one silly looking outfit. I know women don't like to admit this, but occasionally they actually need a man to help them dress. Unless, of course, they are going to an all female event where they can freely flaunt their voluminous sleeves with bare shoulders, bustles, potato sack dresses, or whatever they want because nobody is looking except other crazy women.

Again, ahem, just kidding 8-)

:-)

Jarifa, "salsa de chicatana (flying ant sauce)", is this like the old joke about Girl Scout Cookies: are the made with real Girl Scouts?

What gives Yolo the right to be upset with Neto and Grecia sharing a little kiss when she has been smooching with Guido? Guido, who is a mix of Pee-wee Herman and Jerry Lee Lewis, and probably a descendent of Lucrezia Borgia as well. Sheesh!

I need to have some chocolate and calm down. Not that I take anything in TNs seriously or ever get excited about anything in them...

Sensational as always Jarifa.

"Suddenly turning witchy" and "Carlos stands apart from them and smiles" were among many favorites.

"His presence in this office is giving way to machismo against which she has fought so hard her entire life". Susana is right. "Pancho asks how can they have an event for women without a woman heading it up". Pancho is correct. Admittedly, Pancho seems to have come up with a good idea. I wish we could have seen Susana's contribution. Being displaced by her husband who had a creative idea but not necessarily the business acumen does not bode well for this relationship. I wish they could have walked away from the investors, especially the obnoxious, sexist frontman.

“Pancho tells Eduardo…Polita is his in law and his friend”. Finally, a throwback to the “old” Pancho we so enjoyed.

I enjoyed seeing jealous Grecia. But, she knew the situation going in. Having Ex's reappear at the most inopportune time is a TN staple. She can hold her own with Yolo, I give her that. Still, as bratty as Yolo is, of course she wants her mother to come back. The mother/daughter bond is sacred and unbreakable. She knows a threat (Grecia) when she sees it. It will be interesting to see how this develops, especially now that murderous Guido is going to ensure not so dearest mommy returns.

"Guido, who is a mix of Pee-wee Herman and Jerry Lee Lewis, and probably a descendent of Lucrezia Borgia as well“ was great andy!

Jarifa, your "fetid feet" of yesterday about Sebas rears its ugly head again (so to speak). I suspect those slippers are crawling with bacteria (and who knows what else!).

He hopes she will forgive him and will understand that he loves her/He wants to capture her heart again”. Why Nonno, why?

“Audi is throwing it all overboard”. The only thing that should be thrown overboard is Imelda! Blech.

Not too much action, but Polita's homecoming was a welcome sight.

Jarifa, thank you for another special outing!

Diana

Jarifa: Guido is one conniving psychopath.

Andy, what an all encompassing and appropriate description of Guido from Pee Wee to Jerry Lee to Lucrezia as a possible ancestor. Love it. Chocolate is good to calm down with and for most situations. Easter chocolate is suddenly all over and beckoning to me and my wallet.

Diana, I am feeling sorry for Susana because, as you noted, she is right. IMO, Pancho should have made it clear to the investors and the company that he wasn’t looking for nor would he accept a job. What will happen when Julieta returns thinking she still has a job? Maybe he will be gone by then. He needs to quit. I am also with you on Nonno’s preference for Imelda. He will get what he deserves with that old bat. Crisanta is such a better and upbeat person.

Jarifa and others, have you noticed our andy's been particularly feisty lately?

andy, you are cracking me up - I'm really looking forward to seeing what you will say next. And, thank you!

Diana

Diana, yes! I have noticed. He has been on a roll. 😊

Diana, I think that our Andy might be eating a lot of chocolate
Lately to get through this cold, dismal winter. P.s. You all are a bad influence. I threw 2 Hershey bars with almonds in my grocery cart at the last minute while waiting in line at the checkout .

I'm glad they finally explained who paid for Yolo's hotel room and how.

SpanProf, me, too. It was sucha small detail but it annoyed me.

Oh boy,Jarifa! the pictures of Oaxaca food every evening and then your mouth-watering description!:

"Dani is with Blanca in the kitchen as she prepares Polita's favorite soup: sopa de guías (A Oaxacan soup with chunks of corn on the cob, squash vines and flowers) with chochoyotes (corn meal dumplings)."

Ay yi yi, I just had lunch and I'm already hungry again. Reminds me of Querida Enemiga where they were always dishing up exotic (to me), scrumptious dishes and then I'd look at my own dinner plate and go "Jeez..."

And Sunsanlynn, sorry that we have corrupted you, but chocolate can be "good medicine" both for grief and just the travails of a long, cold Winter. And does less damage than Hot Buttered Rum or Irish Coffee I'm sure.

Now what's with this Fetid Feed number? Another PSA?...this time on personal hygiene? Or just Osorio humor? Well, not working for me. But to each his own.

Glad there's a new love interest for Dani but in real life, this would be far too soon and too fast. Ditto for Neto and Grecia. Thank goodness this is a telenovela and we can have instant romance without the pitfalls of reality.

Sorry to see where the Pancho at the office story is going, but I assume it will be happily resolved soon. My husband visited Japan years ago and was shocked at how women always walked discreetly behind men, never beside them and certainly never ahead of them! Doesn't seem like much has changed.

Thanks Jarifa. Great recap as always and appreciate the cultural cuisine information also.

Please please. Do not let Imelda have a happy ending...She’s been evil, nasty and lying clown face. She needs to be punished with an Oaxacan anvil!

Thank you Jarifa, just another spectacular job summarizing everything that happened.

You know I'm right there with Susana. I would be very upset too if everything I've worked for as a woman went down the toilet because some "investors" were being so patriarchal. It's a fact that it takes women much longer and they have to work much harder than men in private industry in order to be noticed and promoted. Obviously, Susana has put in her time working her way up and at the expense of her family, as we saw in the beginning. Now her family is much better situated, but having to deal with people who only want to deal with a man is pathetic. Men seem to like promoting men, and unfortunately, even a lot of women who are in power will promote a man before promoting a woman, unless you are "buddies."

I love seeing the food on this show. Now I want to try my hand at this Guia Soup.

JudyB, I am sure there will be a PSA somewhere with Sebas fetid feet. They haven’t missed any opportunities for a PSA yet. As for the food, it always looks so delicious. I like when they describe the dish so I can go see what is in it.

Susanlynn, Sometimes chocolate just jumps into my grocery cart. Nothing I can do about it.

Anon, Yikes! A Oaxacan anvil not just any kind of pedestrian telenovela anvil!!! You really have it in for Imelda.

Cynthia, the recipes I have found online for this dish didn’t look too difficult. Just a couple of ingredients that might be hard to find or seasonal. I will have to keep my eyes open at the grocery store.

SpanProf: Imelda needs her anvil too.

I can also think of several others, who need theirs including bloodthirsty psychopath serial killer Guido, who has sinister plans for Yolo down the road IF Univision brings this back in 2020.

Jarifa: Susana having some regrets marrying Pancho ?
