I have never seen a person so insane when he finds out his child is his child. It is very sad. This man hates his Daughter, just cause she's a she and not a he. And shes poor and blind. Him Being perfect couldn't possibly have a Child like that. Wow. He deserves somethin worse than An anvil. And I hope he gets it. Multiable times over. Su acts Like somebody died.Well her chance of getting money that does not belong to Vanesa. Nothing good will happen for these two bottom feeders. Vanesa Got a chance to run, but she likes the Idea Of money too. Does lino know what He's getting into to with this girl? He should run in the other direction.

NiNaaaaaah. Hey. I have not been watching this, maybe just a few minutes now and then. So I have no clue what is going on. I am still wanting somebody to make Marina pay for the little snot she was in AaM.

I turned it on this afternoon when I came inside to cool off, it has been sooo hot here in SorrySota. Do you have to get a special thermometer for when it is above ninety? Don't most of the old ones only go to 90?

I looked over just as the Phantom of the Opera was trying his luck with Marina. I feared the worst, but she is good with that blind cane, you know, with feeling her way through life with it, and Phantom is a wuss too. Then she ran outside and stared at a tree.

Ep 41: Part 1 The Results Are In

Beto is at the tree thinking about how Marina told him that she would not be with him secretly; he needed to end his relationship with Vanesa. If he had been more aware, he would not have allowed Doc to abuse Marina

Yola advises Marina that they will make sure Doc pays for all he did. Marina wonders how they will do that. Dami comes in asking why she couldn’t confide in her. Dami, Pru, and Angsty are there to support her. Mari only wants justice because Doc took away her hopes for love…even Beto is having doubts.

Tori tells Beto that he left Mari at the entrance of the hacienda and she was very sad.

Vanesa is fed up with Su shenanigan’s. She shouldn’t have made up the story that everyone was talking about Marina in town. After Vanesa criticizes Su and doesn’t want any part of her devious plans, Su tells her to remember why they are there.

Beto arrives at the main house and asks Horti where everyone is. She tells them they are at Mago’s house.

Angsty hopes everything gets resolved soon. When Beto arrives and tells Mari that he went to look for her everywhere, Yola tells him that she is with those who love her. The ladies leave them alone; so Beto apologizes for questioning her and assures Mari that he was not doubting her. Marina asks him not to ask her to forgive him anymore. She loves him, but doesn’t want to return to his house. She doesn’t want Don L insulting her anymore; she won’t allow him to be talking badly about her. Beto just wants Marina to be calm and assures her that they will get through this; they will be happy and he needs her.

Su tells Don L that the townspeople are saying that Mari has been having relations with Doc for years. Don L thinks Marina made up the whole story up so his son wouldn’t find out what kind of a cheap tramp she was. Su thinks that if everyone in the city would find out about Beto, all doors would be shut for him…there would be such a scandal. Su then talks about Vanesa who loves him as a father. Just then Beto storms in and tells Don L that Marina doesn’t want to return because of his insults. Don L berates Marina and Beto punches him good. Don L comes back with lightening speed and punches him back and holding him down tells him that was so that he can learn to respect his father. Beto yells that he is NOT his father. Don L growls as he keeps repeating that Beto is an Ocaranza. As they struggle, Don L is over Beto when Pru comes in. Beto yells that everything is his fault because he took Marina to the Doc, but Don L retorts that he took Mari to Doc, but not so that could she could be rolling around with him. Beto goes at Don L, but Pru stops him. After Beto tells them that that he will not stay in that house and leaves, Su comes in and tells Don L that he shouldn’t have reacted that way. He should teach Beto a lesson…let him leave and see if he can survive when he has nothing left…he shouldn’t even have the Ocaranza last name..

Vanesa thinks about Lino saying that he will wait for her forever; she gets frustrated that she can’t do anything. Meanwhile, Lino wonders where she is.

Pru goes after Beto who is packing; he will not leave Marina by herself. Pru blames herself for bringing Marina to the house. Beto doesn’t want Pru blaming herself. His obligation right now is to be with Marina and to make sure Doc pays for what he has done. After Pru informs Beto that she has contacted her attorney, Beto hopes that Pru doesn’t have a problem with Marina staying with him. Pru assures him that she doesn’t mind. Angsty them comes in wondering what was going on since she could hear all the shouting, so Pru tells her about the fight between Don L and Beto. Pru thinks Don L needs to respect Marina; she is after all his daughter. Angsty wonders why the results are taking so long.

Ep 41: Part 2 The Results Are In!

Dami and Marina are making preps to stay at Mago’s house. When Dami comments that she needs to go get their things from the main house, Lino quickly volunteers to go.

Su tells Vanesa about the fight; she hopes Beto continues to fight with his father because of the nauseating blind girl. She also gave Don L the idea to leave Beto out in the streets. When Vanesa points out that Pru will not allow it, Su counters that Don L has never cared what that woman says. This is their chance to have Don L erase Beto from the family…and Vanesa will be the adopted daughter. Vanesa thinks Su has gone crazy and walks out as Su whispers that she will be happy as the new of wife of Don L.

Beto arrives at Mago’s hoping that he won’t be too much of a bother. After Marina asks what he is doing there, Beto tells her about the fight he had with “el Señor Ocaranza.” After Marina worries, Beto tells them that what done is done.

Lino gets to the main house and sees Vanesa. He tells her that he waited for her hoping to see and touch her. As Vanesa tells him that she doesn’t want problems with her mother, Angsty comes in with Dami’s things; so she gives then to Lino and he leaves. Once alone, Angsty tells Vanesa to fight for her happiness.

Pru tells Don L that Beto and Marina will not be sleeping there. They will stay with Mago; and she hopes that Don L won’t tell Mago to run them off. Don L is glad they are gone; they can go wherever the heck they want as long as he doesn’t have to see them. When Pru tells her how disappointed she is in him, he responds that that makes two of them. Pru goes off to sleep elsewhere.

Dami complains to Mago that she doesn’t feel comfortable sleeping in his bed. Magi wishes he could turn back time, but he can’t.

Yola and Marina are in Yola’s bedroom discussing how to confront Doc Mask. Yola wants to give Marina her phone so that Marina can record Doc admitting to raping her…that way they can have the evidence against him.

Lino and Beto are in Lino’s room. When Lino wonders if Beto is really willing to give up all the money, Beto assures him that he wants nothing from that man. Lino suggests that he wait until they get the test results…maybe Don L will then treat Marina better. Beto responds that that is what he is hoping for. He hopes Don Ocaranza keeps his word and that the other man gets convicted. Lino has no idea what Beto means about a conviction; and Beto avoids giving details.

Next Day—

Marina and Yola barge into Doc Mask’s house demanding to talk to Doc. When Doc comes out, Marina stays alone with him. Marina wants him to tell her if he really abused her…because she really doesn’t know since he gave her something to sleep. When she woke up, it was he who told her that he had taken her. Now the doctor who examined her is saying that there is no trace of her being with him. She wants him to tell her what he did to her. Doc gets close to Marina and sees the phone. He grabs it as he chides her for thinking he is stupid enough to say something against himself.

Dami and Mago are having breakfast when Beto comes out asking for Marina. When Dami tells him that she went to town with Yola, Beto goes to look for her.

Baldo asks Angsty if Dami is up yet, so Angsty tells her about all the commotion the night before…and Dami went with Beto and Marina to stay at Mago’s house.

Ep 41: Part 3 The Results Are In!

Pru tells Don L that she contacted her attorney who is going to try to help Beto and Marina with their cases. Don L thinks she is wasting her money since he already has his attorney working on it and Beto case will be dismissed. Pru wonders if Don L made a deal with the Doc…but Doc will end up in jail. Don L starts to argue, but then tells Pru to continue with her attorney…it will be a distraction for her.

Marina pleads with Doc to tell her what happened, but Doc only taunts her with what will happen with Beto…Beto won’t be able to forget that she was with Doc; every time Beto will touch her, he will think of Doc. Marina can only tell Doc that she hates him as she cries.

Baldo goes to see Dami and tells her that they don’t have to stay with Mago; they can go to his house. After Dami wonders why Baldo is so bothered by her staying there, Baldo backs down and tell her to discuss it with Beto and Marina; he will he happy to have them stay with him.

Beto goes to the lab and picks up the DNA test results.

Pru meets with her attorney with the Charlie Chaplin moustache. He tells her he has good news since the charges have been dropped against her son. When she asks about Marina’s case, he tells her that the authorities won’t proceed with the case. There is a witness that declared that Marina had consensual sex with Doc…the witness was there the whole time that Marina was there; furthermore, the medical report doesn’t support Marina’s claim. There is also no evidence that Marina was kept at his house against her will. Pru wonders how she will tell Marina that Doc will go free.

Doc is still holding on to Marina as he whispers that when Beto leaves her, she will come back to him. Marina quickly hits him with her cane (should have aimed lower Marina!) and tells him that she would not come back to him if he were the last man on earth. He grabs her and gives her back the phone; as he pushes her out the door, he forces a kiss on her.

Don L and Vanesa are out riding. Vanesa is enjoying everything at the ranch. Don L then wonders if Vanesa would like to learn how to hunt. After Vanesa agrees, they race back to the hacienda.

Beto sees Marina as she leaves Doc’s house and wonders what she was doing there. When she tells him about trying to record Doc and that Doc found the phone, Beto is upset that Yola would put her in that situation. After Marina tells him that the plan didn’t work, she assures him that Doc didn’t hurt her. Yola then comes running and Beto chides her for putting Marina in danger. After Yola leaves, Beto admits that he is angry with Marina, but more so because she didn’t tell him what she was planning.

Pru tells Dami what the lawyer told her. Dami thinks Marina will be very upset; and Pru is dismayed that it’s as usual…no one believes the woman. Just then, Horti tells Pru that Beto is on his way back and wants to meet with everyone at the main house.

Doc tells Ramona how Marina tried to set him up…after all he did for her. now he is a bother and in her way. When Ramona tells him that he needs to get her out of his head, he responds that his love for Marina in infinite…but Ramona wouldn’t be able to understand that.

Don l and Vanesa return from riding. Don L thanks her because she helped him forget about his problems. As Don L starts to leave to his room, Beto arrives and tells him that they have to talk. He has the results of the tests. Everyone else approaches.

Zackrat is scolding Erasmo when Lino speak up for Erasmo. Zackrat is going to make sure the workers work as they should.

Don L wants the results NOW. When Beto suggests that only those involved stay, Don L insists that his Chucha and Vanesa stay since they are part of the family. Beto tells them that Marina IS an Ocaranza. Pru smiles and Marina looks likes she wants to throw up.

Agents go ttalk to Doc to tell him that that there is no evidence to support Marina’s claim. Doc wants to countersue Marina for defamation.

Ep 41: Part 4 The Results Are In!

Angsty insists that Don L accept the results. Marina wants Beto to tell her there was a mistake; and Don L shouts that there had to be a mistake…that blind person is not his daughter! Don L goes off and curses Marina who, even though she may have his blood, will always be a peasant in his eyes. Angsty tells Su that she can no longer call them liars. Marina cries that it is very painful to know that she is the daughter of that man who has insulted her so much. Pru tries to console her as she tells Marina that she never needed a test, but Marina is overwhelmed and goes off crying.

In their bedroom, Vanesa tells Su that her plan backfired. Pru will not stop until she convinces Don L to accept Marina. Su insists that Don L hates Marina and he will not be ridiculed by having a blind daughter. Su is furious as she thinks that they have to accept that woman as part of the family. When Vanesa tells her that they have no other choice, Su retorts that she still has a lot of influence over Don L, and if Pru wants to see who is the stronger one, they will see who wins.

Beto goes to Marina who doesn’t want to be an Ocaranza; she isn’t interested in the money or the last name…she just wants to be with Beto. When she wonders what will be of him, Beto reassures her that he will go on. Beto tries to convince her not to refuse what rightfully belongs to her.

Pru tells Don L that he can hide wherever he wants, but he will have to accept that Marina is his daughter. Marina is the daughter she cried over for years. Don L realizes that she knew all along that Beto was not his son. Pru tells him that she learned to love Beto as her own. Don L grabs her by the neck as he snarls that she lied to him, but Pru yells back that he can’ t blame her since she gave him the son he always wanted. Don L raises his hand as if to hit her...will he or won't he??? Hasta mañana!!

Yay, the results are in! This is the. first. telenovela. that I have ever seen where the DNA results were not faked, forged, altered, stolen, or otherwise compromised. It's a telenovela miracle.

Marina is an absolute idiot to have gone to Doc NutJob's house to talk to him ALONE. I FFWD-> thru the rest of that scene once it was apparent the convo was more of the same old, same old, with a garnish of crying. I'm over it.

Was I asleep at the wheel? Why did Marina and Beto decamp (w/Dami following) to chez Mago instead of Baldo's place? Aren't Baldo and Dami going steady? Can this relationship be saved?

Note to Vanessa: Honey, your mother IS crazy. Delusional. CrayCray.

Ep 25: One Step Forward for Teo, No Steps Anywhere for Val

Flor insists on asking Lola who gave her the money, but Lola tells her it is not her money…she doesn’t know why Flor keeps asking her, if she isn’t going to believe her. Val follows Flor as she goes downstairs and calls Teo to ask him why he left her the money when she asked him not to. Val is pacing having fits because Flor called Teo. Teo, of course, has no idea what she is talking about…it wasn’t him. Teo knows this is a very difficult time for her and she probably has doubts about trusting people, but he told her he would respect her decisions and that is how it will be. They’ve known each other for a long time and it’s about time she trusted him. Flor knows he’s right and replies that she will trust him. When she wonders who could have left her the money, Val tells her it was him, the love of her life, but Flor can’t hear him.

Father Elpi is still talking to Itza about Tito whom he loves as if he were his family. Elpi will support Itza in whatever she decides to do. Itza is frustrated because she doesn’t know how she will get that tangled web out of Tito’s head.

Teo talks to Nestor who keeps calling him “Clark” (Kent? Because of his glasses?). Teo wants to know what will be done to Chile for painting graffiti on his car. Nestor tells him that he is having Chile do some jobs around town…he is going to make Chile’s life a living hell.

Marga goes to Itza’s beauty salon. When Itza is surprised to see her there and asks what it is that she wants, Marga wants to know where she should sit.

Chile arrives at Nestor’s office to drop off his cleaning equipment. Nestor tells him he can’t leave just yet because he will have to scrub the paint off of Teo’s truck. When Chile responds that it will be impossible because the paint is permanent, Nestor tells him that he will then have to pay for the truck. Chile complains that it isn’t fair, so Nestor calls one of the officers to take Chile to a cell. Chile quickly back peddles and tells Nestor he will remove the paint. Chile could kick himself for listening to Val…when he was alive. All his rebellions and bad thoughts are due to Val.

Flor tells Lola that the thing about the money is odd. Lola thinks Flor should see it as a divine gift, but Flor knows that divine gifts don’t exist. When Lola suggests that Flor should have fun and spend the money, Flor tells her that the money will not be used; she is going to put it in a safe place until the rightful owner appears. Val is dismayed because Flor complained that he left her with so many problems and now she is complaining because he is trying to get her out of problems. Val’s eyes twinkle and he smiles as he thinks of something he can do. Lola then tells Flor that she is getting her things and leaving since her presence makes Flor uncomfortable.

Val goes to Chile and tells him that he needs his help. Chile complains because Val doesn’t feel anything since he is dead, but Chile is tired because he has been cleaning all day; and now he has to go remove he paint from Teo’s truck. Val promises to help Chile with whatever he wants if he agrees to help him again.

Marga tells Itza that she has a friend who fell into a grave and she needs a pendant to protect her from the curse. When Itza tells her that she will need to read her cards so that she can know exactly what kind of pendant to give her friend, Marga agrees to the card reading…if it has to be that way.

Lola knows that Flor only accepted her there because Octi insisted. Flor is always questioning her and doubting her; so Lola will figure out what to do. When Flor asks her to put herself in her place. Lola understands, but she has a lot of problems too, but she is doing what she can to pursue her dreams. Flor asks Lola to forgive her and to stay…she just asks that she pick up after herself. Lola stays.

Ep 25, Part 2: One Step Forward for Teo, No Steps Anywhere for Val

Chile is on top of Teo’s truck as he argues with Val about doing some job that Val thinks is too risky. A passerby looks at him as if he has gone bonkers. Chile needs the same amount of money as Val gave to Flor…he has his own things that he needs the money for…and he wants to show Marga that he is the best catch in town. If Val doesn’t help him, Chile won’t tell Flor that it was Val who left the money. After Val agrees, Chile adds that he will also need money to repaint Teo’s truck and for videogames.

Mariana gives Aure a long list of rules to abide by since they have to continue living together. If he doesn’t follow them, then he will have to tell Xochitl the truth and leave. Once she finishes, Mariana tells Aure that she will be going to the casino to start her new job.

Itza is reading the cards and tells Marga that the curse will fall upon her “friend” and that the death will be horrific. Itza then stops and worries because she sees a secret in the cards…something to do with one of Marga’s children. When Marga points out that it is about her “friend,” Itza insists that it has to do with Marga’s family. Marga gets upset and, after she accuses Itza of spreading gossip, she leaves, but then sits down and puts her head down.

Aure follows Mariana. He knows that what he did was wrong, but she can’t be dancing or flirting with men. Mariana is offended that he doesn’t know her very well; she would never do anything like that…but if she were ever to want to be with someone, he can’t tell her anything.

Mariana is now with Flor who has told her about the money. Marina thinks it may be a trap so that Flor can spend the money and then the person will make her pay the money back with interest. Just then, Chile arrives and needs to have a serious talk with Flor.

At the beauty salon, Itza tells Marga that she can’t leave the way she is feeling Don Vicente arrives and asks him to bring some water for Marga. Itza tells her that she continued reading the cards and she knows that Marga felt faint because she is afraid…she has a child outside of the “main nucleus.” Itza wonders why and tells Marga that one of her children has a connection to a holy figure. Itza then wonders if that child has a different father. When Itza tells Marga that she will keep her secret, Marg insists that she has no secrets.

Chile tells Flor that he wasn’t just passing by. When he tells her that “they” can’t leave, Flor points out that Chile is by himself. After Val tells Chile to tell Flor that he is there, Chile asks if Flor found the money. When Flor scolds Chile for entering her house, Chile denies that it was him. He then clarifies that it was him, but it wasn’t really him because Val asked him to do it. Flor mocks Chile for saying that he can hear Val when they can’t hear him. As per Val’s instructions, Chile tells Flor that she has to have a nice thought to be able to invoke Val. Flor tells Chile to wait a minute and then comes back with the money and returns it. She saw him gambling in the casino and knows how he got the money. When Chile tries to tell her that he is telling the truth, Flor tells him that he will have to tell the chief of police his truth. Chile doesn’t want any problems so he leaves.

Marga chides Itza for bringing so much bad luck with her cards...she made Flor make many mistakes. When Marga tells Itza that her story that Aure has another father is way off, Itza points out that she never mentioned that it was Aure. Marga remarks that something like that could destroy her family; so Itza responds that that is why things such as these should be brought out into the open…Aure should know the truth.

Mariana tells Flor that she can’t believe that these nuts are covering for each other even after death. She thinks Chile is obsessed with her… he entered her house! Marina warns Flor that Chile seems to be stalking her and if Flor doesn’t report him, she will have to suffer the consequences.

 

FLOR
Ep 25, Part 3: One Step Forward for Teo, No Steps Anywhere for Val

Oscar talks to Father Elpi about someone possibly breaking into his house. He mentions that he keeps all his important papers in the piece of furniture behind his desk chair. When Oscar tells him that the thieves didn’t find what they were looking for, Elpi thinks that maybe the thieves didn’t have much experience.

Sami tells Aure that they can help each other. They can do something to get back at Octi and his lover, Paris. Aure is taken aback that Paris is Octi’s lover; so Sami assures him that Paris is sleeping with Octi…Paris is getting back at him because he went back to his wife.

At the casino, Octi refuses to accept Mariana as a choreographer; he wants her to dance. If they don’t do as he says, he will continue to charge interest on Flor’s debt and she will owe him more.

Chile tells Val that he is tired of being humiliated. Val is tired too and thinks that the only way he can separate Teo and Flor is by having Flor forgive him. Val is alone in his limbo, while Chile is alive and can kiss women, they can hug him. All Val can see is that he is losing Flor. Chile tells Val not to feel bad; he will help him…as long as Val helps him win some money.

Mariana doesn’t want to leave Flor alone at the casino; she wants to help her. Flor reminds Mariana that she is helping her in so many other ways and assures her that she will be fine at the casino.

Octi introduces Flor as the new choreographer to the casino girls. Flor talks to the girls and tells them that she will just be teaching them some new techniques to make their show better. When she tells them that they will be stars, Paris interjects that she is the star of the show. Flor continues that she will make them shine. Lola is there ready to dance, but Octi tell her tha tshe will not be dancing. Once alone, Octi then tells Flor that he has always admired her…and his doors will always be open for her…he calls her “baby.”

Mariana talks to Octi alone, she is not leaving there until they find some way for her to stay there with Flor…but she will not dance. Lola gets on the dance floor. When Flor reminds her that Octi doesn’t want her dancing, Lola responds that she found someone to do her work, so she can dance now. Later, Mariana explains to Flor that she will be working there (cleaning) because they are both owners of the academy and she wants to help Flor pay the debt. She asks Flor to trust her…when they finish paying the debt, then they can both tell Octi where to get off.

Don Vicnete goes running to Rose to tell her about her mother getting sick.

Flor finishes her first dance class with the casino girls. Paris sees Mariana and wonders what she is doing there…she supposes that if she is working there, it’s because she has no other choice. Paris hopes they can get along without resentments.

Chile tells Val that he’d better help him or he won't help Val with Flor. Val listens without saying a word.

At the casino, Paris pulls in Aure to a dressing room and tells him that she regrets all the problems she has caused for him. Aure chides her for thinking that he would believe her. He tries to leave, but she asks him to stay. Out in the casino, Chile enters with Val by his side. Octi calls over his goon and tells him to keep an eye on Chile.

Flor arrives home to find Teo who has prepared a candlelit dinner.

Sami comments to Mariana that she is there cleaning while Aure is in the dressing room with Paris. Meanwhile, Paris tries to convince Aure that she is being sincere. Ep 25, Part 4: One Step Forward for Teo, No Steps Anywhere for Val

Sami comments to Mariana that she is there cleaning while Aure is in the dressing room with Paris. Meanwhile, Paris tries to convince Aure that she is being sincere. Flor never thought she would have these experiences with Teo. He takes off his glasses as Flor tells him that this is a side of him she didn’t know. Teo tells her that she is the beautiful, secure woman he has always been in love with. Flor does feel different; he makes her feel safe and calm. Teo then tells her that he will tell her how he feels about her as often as he can. He loves her with all his heart and soul. He wants to be with her…and so does she…they kissss….

Rgv Chick, fantastic title. So well written Rgv Chick, I don't know how you do it. You create these masterpieces daily. And several at that.

"Itza is frustrated because she doesn’t know how she will get that tangled web out of Tito’s head" was great.

“Teo talks to Nestor who keeps calling him “Clark” (Kent? Because of his glasses?).” OMG. Perfect! Just what I thought of when I saw him – his hair is a bit longer and the quietly tousled quality was adorable. He is such a good looking man but they keep him as an unpolished gem.

"he wants to show Marga that he is the best catch in town". Why, Chile, why? Marga is so, so severe and no one except her wants to even bother with you!

Yet, “Marga felt faint because she is afraid…she has a child outside of the “main nucleus.” Oh my…

Mariana is a solid friend and a good woman. Far too good for Aure.

I was so happy to see the ending - Teo is in love and Flor is definitely falling. Let's see what Val will say or do about that.

We should all have a friend like Mariana, so true to Flor and never giving up to make sure she is safe. Now who is going to take care of Mariana? The two floozies are ganging up on her!

I am still perplexed as to why Chile would go after Marga. Lola is a cutie and she is right there, Chile!

What a nice gesture Teo made...I was impressed with the candlelit dinner and evidently so was Flor. Teo, you sly fox, you got her hooked...I hopeo!

Nina, Yola must have had a brain fart when she came up with that idea and when she left Marina alone with Doc mask. She had been so levelheaded up to now. And then she went off to buy soe water! I would have been like gum on that door trying to listen and ready to attack if I heard Marina yell out.

Alexander, thanks for the heads up on Despertar Contigo. I haven't watched that one and it sounds good, but I'm already watching too many TNs ACKK!

Doris, I was in total disbelief that the results weren't tampered with. Maybe Su was over confident that Marina would turn out to not be Don L's daughter??? That's the only explanation I can come up with.

It seems like everybody ended up at Mago's place! I think it was Marina's idea to stay there so that she could be close to Beto (since she was thinking that Beto was going to stay at the main house. And I'm sure Yola did some convincing too.

Nina, I was expecting some smartass remarks from Don L, but not such a strong, hateful reaction. He is a too proud for his own britches. Maybe Marina should take her cane to his nuts!

The weather has been lovely here, yesterday and today. Hubby and I washed down the screened porch this afternoon, removing winter dust and spring tree pollen from the furniture and floor. Now we can have breakfast out there in the mornings, sit out in the evenings, dinner on cooler days. Summer has begun for us. 🌞
 

I thought she came up between the legs with the cane I wish she had. That was a stupid idea, Marina don't know how to spy, and she looked kind a stupid standing there tryin to figure out what to say to beto about why she was there. And yola looked even stupider.

Ep 42: Part 1 The Rabbit Died!

Marina tells Beto that she wants to get away so she can think things through. She wants to go away with Beto and live the life they dreamed of in that small apartment he got in the city for them. She pleads with him to take her away from there.

Don L pushes Pru and tells her that he should throw her out. Pru tells him she will gladly leave with her children, but she shall tell the world that Marina is her child whom she thought was dead. If he doesn’t want her to do it, the he’d better recognize Marina as his daughter. She does not regret having lied because she has a son whom she loves. She admires Beto’s courage to fight for what he loves…and hopes Don L can learn a little from Beto

Beto suggests that Marina needs to give Don L time to accept reality and name her as his daughter. Beto will live from his job, but she may need the name and the money some day. He asks that she allow him to right all the wrongs…he feels guilty for having everything that should have been hers. They had nothing to do with he decisions the women made. Beto wants to talk to Don L and tell him to acknowledge her as his daughter. He asks Marina to allow him to fight for her.

Dami thinks that Don L will have no choice, but to give Marina his name. Mago doesn’t think that Pru has it in her to confront Don L, but Dami thinks that finding out that she has a daughter has given her that courage..

Beto tells Pru that they will stay another night. Marina cries as she recalls feeling the rage in Don L when he found out that he had a daughter like her. Pru hopes that Don L realizes what a blessing it is to have a daughter like her and promises that she will always be with Marina and defend her from whomever. Pru hugs Marina as she calls mother.

Don L recalls what Beto, Marina and Pru have told him. He then gets a call from Doc L. When Doc tells him that he dropped the charges against Beto and notices that Don L is upset, Don L tells him that he just found out that the blind girl is his daughter.

Dami tells Marina that she is glad that Pru defended Marina against Don L Marina is proud to have a mother like Pru give her life…she called her mother for the first time. Although Marina felt a special connection with Pru since she first met her, Dami will always be her mother. Marina thanks Dami for all the love, care, and teachings; she knows that Dami did the best that she could. Marina is who she is because of Dami and thanks Dami whom she loves very much.

Beto says good-night to Marina and tries to give her a kiss, but she backs away. Beto understands how she feels and will wait until she is herself again. After he leaves, Marina isn’t sure she will ever be the same again.

Don L complains to Su about Pru threatening to announce that Marina is their daughter. Su can’t believe it and wonders if Pru would really do it. She then suggests that he go along with Pru for now but actually not do anything…those proceedings take a long time. All marriages have their ups and downs, and that marriage will soon fail. When Don L reminds her that Beto is willing to do anything for Marina, Su doubts that Beto will forget that Doc had relations with Marina…just like he wouldn’t touch Pru if she were with another man. Don L agrees.

Horti gets a call and takes a message for Marina. She then goes to Mago’s house to relay the message. Meanwhile, Dami is trying to convince Marina to fight for what is rightfully hers.

Baldo gets a call that his transfer to the capital has been approved. Tori is very happy that he will be going with his little princess to the city.

Ep 42: Part 2 The Rabbit Died!

Yola helps Marina return the call she got. Marina then tells Yola that she needs to go for the results of the second test they gave her when she went for the DNA test.

Beto enters Don L’s office to talk; he hopes Don L has recovered sufficiently so that they can talk without using their fists.

Pru goes to see Vanesa and apologizes for not paying her very much attention. When Pru tells her that she loves her like a daughter, Vanesa responds that she doesn’t deserve it (ask her why, Pru!). Pru just wants Vanesa to understand what it means to her to have found Marina after so many years. She hopes that she and Marina can become friends.

After Beto insists that Don L can’t refuse Marina what is rightfully hers, Don L points out that Beto will not stop being an Ocaranza. Beto doesn’t think that he should continue with the name and again insists that Marina be given the last name. Don L remarks that when Beto married Marina she became an Ocaranza, but Beto argues that that is not enough. Don L then suggests that he can adopt Marina…that way she will be seen as his adopted daughter. When Beto refuses the proposal, Don L tells him to wait until he discusses it with his wife; she may have a different opinion.

Vanesa tells Su about her conversation with Pru. Su thinks that Pru’s guilty feelings are working for them. Vanesa argues that Don L will eventually acknowledge Marina as his daughter, but Su thinks that Don L fears scandals too much; he won’t be able to stand the gossip if their friends find out that his pride and joy turned out to be a filthy farmer. Vanesa then asks that they leave; she doesn’t want to be at that damned ranch. Su tells her she will have to put up with it because they are not leaving there.

Beto tells Pru about Don L’s proposal to adopt Marina. When Pru tells Beto that she threatened Don L that she would announce it to the city if he doesn’t keep his word. Beto thinks Pru has changed. Pru agrees because she used to be afraid, but not any more. She is willing to face the consequences…even if Don L asks her for a divorce. Beto points out that Don L would never divorce her…for the same reason, to avoid the scandal. Pru then tells Beto that she does agree with Don L on one point…he is her son. When Dami put him in her arms, he was her only reason for living; he was the most important thing in her life…what she loved most in life. Beto thanks her and will always see her as his mother.

Beto goes looking for Marina, so Dami tells him that she went to town with Yola to get some medical test results. Beto will go look for her.

Yola and Marina are at the clinic. The doctor tells her that certain levels in her blood were high which could indicate that she is pregnant. After Marina agrees to take a pregnancy test, the doctor confirms that she is pregnant! Since Marina hasn’t been pregnant for too long, Yola sits with Marina as she points out that the chances are probably better that the baby is Beto’s and not Doc Mask’s (that’s not just a ‘no’, Yola; that’s a HELL NO!). Marina then tells Yola that it can’t be Doc’s because the doctor who examined her told her that there were no traces of sperm...that is why Marina suspected that Doc had not abused her. Also, when she asked Doc what he did to her, he only responded that the only thing that mattered was what Beto thought could have happened. Yola then is sure that Beto is the father.

Baldo goes to tell Dami his good news about the transfer. As they hug, Mago interrupts because he went back for his keys. After he leaves, Baldo thinks that Mago was just making excuses to be alone with her, so Dami tells him to control his green-eyed monster.

Beto is in town and buys Marina a shawl. When he goes to the clinic he gives it to her, Marina tells him that she needs to talk to him; so Yola leaves them alone. Marina blurts out that she is pregnant; Beto does not seem happy.

Pru tells Don L that Beto told her about his proposition. Don L thinks that everybody will win with his proposal. When Pru insists that Marina has a right to everything they have, Don L retorts that he can’t do anything until they accept his proposal. After Don L refers to Marina as the blind girl, Pru wonders why he can’t accept her as his daughter. He needs to set aside his pride and prejudices. Don L argues that since Marina appeared, the house has been in a chaos. Pru pleads with him to accept his daughter and recuperate his son…as Su listens at the door.

Marina notices that Beto is quiet and asks if he is okay. When Beto asks if she is sure the baby is his and wonders why this is happening to them, Marina tells him to calm down…they are going to be parents, but Beto insists that he needs to be sure that he is the father. Marina wonders why that would make a difference; so Beto tells her that he will not raise a rapist’s child. Marina gets upset since he won’t accept the child that is growing in her womb.

Lino sees Vanesa sitting at a tree. When Vanesa tells him to get used to not seeing her because she is leaving, Lino wonders why they can’t try to find a way to be together. Vanesa tells him that the only way would be if he turned into a millionaire. Lino thinks that maybe he could have money one day and get his own ranch; she could be the owner too. Vanesa thinks those are just fantasies…he will never learn to be part of her world. She gets up to leave, but Lino grabs and kisses her. She pushes him away and begs him to stop loving her…he needs to hate her.

Marina and Beto continue to argue since Beto cannot accept that the baby is his. Marina accuses him of being like his father and assures him that the baby is theirs…it is a product of their love. Beto insists that he needs to be sure.

Doc gets ready to go out; he needs to go sign some documents regarding the charges against him. Ramona tells him that he looks nice.

Su goes in to talk to Don L since she overheard what Pru told him. Don L assures her that he is only doing it for his son…he is the only one whom he loves. When he tells her why he is willing to adopt Marina, Su points out that people will still talk. Don L insists that he needs an heir to carry on his name. When he adds that the heir cannot be female, blind or a low-life, Su quickly asks why it can’t be a female,but Don L is not going to argue his decisions.

Beto follows Marina who is walking down the sidewalk. When he tells her that they need to talk about it since this is their decision, Marina stresses that she is the one who will be carrying the child for nine months; so she is sure that the baby is his. When Beto reiterates that she is forgetting what happened with the imbecile, Marina doesn’t want to argue anymore; it is his decision now—is he with her or not? When Beto remains silent, Marina gets upset and goes back to Mago’s place crying and on her own in a taxi.
 

Well it looks like the docs plan worked. "Make beto think I had sex with HIS wife". Aaaaaaad he does. He'll probly still doubt her when she

Ugh.... more heavy stuff today. I'm mad at Beto for his reaction to the pregnancy, but I can understand his point. Would I want to raise Doc Mask's baby if I was a man and he had raped my wife? It really is a tough call. Didn't make poor Marina a feel any better, though. Gads.... what a mess.

This is maybe the first time ever in any telenovela I've seen, that the heroine is pregnant without mareos y nausea. Wow.

Today's ep in a nutshell---
Baldo: So, Damiana, you're still staying at Marga's place, why don't you come back to mine?
Dami: Dude, Marga's place is . . . decorated. Homey. The walls are painted, cheery colors. Nice furniture and lighting. Your place is grey cement block. Looks like a jail cell. Ever hear of HGTV?
Toribio: Woot! I'm going to the capital!!!
Marina: The physical exam showed no evidence of sexrelations. I wasn't raped. I'm pretty sure.
Beto: No way am I raising Doc Mask's baby. Ew. Cooties. I may now be Don Louse's non-bio-son, but I learned from the master.

Thanks again, Rgv Chick. It's really great to read your recaps and then understand what I watched. Sometimes I read the recaps first, I haven't decided which is more fun.

Doris, it did not occur to me but you are right, the whippersnappers would not get the title.

So Don Louse's heir cannot be female. And Sudoodoo is upset, but why? Is she concerned that Vanesa would never inherit, or herself when she is his widow (which could come surprisingly quickly, you never know about these things :)

Marina was a little naive thinking that who the baby's father is should not matter at all to Beto, but he handled it totally wrong. If the baby really is Doc Mask's, though we know it isn't, it would certainly not be Marina's fault. Beto is not living up to the standards of some other TN fathers who have accepted, raised, and loved the baby, and never let her know she was not his biological child, leaving her to find out years later when her rare blood type is desperately needed for a transfusion and someone says to her... well, y'all already know how this goes.

Ep 26: Flor Hears Dead People

Teo and Flor are kissing. Teo then tells Flor that he doesn’t want her to have doubts or do anything that she will regret later. Flor assures him she won’t regret it…not with a man like him whom she is just starting to discover. She grabs his hand and leads him to her bedroom.

At the casino, the goons take Chile into Octi’s office. Chile tells them that he wasn’t doing anything wrong, it’s just his darned luck that’s always with him. After Octi tells him to be quiet and has him tied up, Val appears and tells Chile not to worry; he is there with him…they can’t do anything to him because they have no evidence. Val suddenly feels that Flor is in trouble and has to leave. Chile yells at him to take him with him.

Aure tries to convince Mariana that he was doing nothing wrong….that is why he didn’t want her to work there. When he asks her why she has to work there, Mariana responds that she has a great need to work because Flor fell into hard times and she is not going to leave her on her own. She is Flor’s partner and she will not lose the academy which is the only thing she can leave their daughter as an inheritance. When Aure assures her that he will support her and get the money, Marina wonders how he will do that and if he will accomplish that by gambling or sleeping with one of the casino ladies.

Teo and Flor are in her bedroom kissing. Val arrives and wonders what he has to do to stop them…maybe throw water at them. He paces frantically as he half-covers his eyes not wanting to look. As Flor and Teo lay down on the bed and continue kissing, Val is about to freak out. He goes in and out of the room until he sees that Flor has no clothes on and Teo is about to move to the next step. He repeatedly tells Flor not to do it and as his voice gets louder, Flor hears him and sees the mirror shatter into a million pieces after Val slams his fist on it.

At the casino, Chile assures Octi that he was not cheating. When he suggests that they check the cameras to confirm that he is telling the truth, Octi takes his suggestion.
Flor tells Teo that she heard Val’s voice tell her not to do it. Val smiles since she heard him. Teo thinks that Flor believes that she heard Val because she was feeling guilty...it is her conscience that is making her think she heard Val, but Flor doesn’t agree; her conscience couldn’t have broken the mirror. When Teo thinks that there has to be a logical explanation for the mirror breaking, Flor thinks it was Chile who did it. She rushes out of the room calling out for Chile. As Flor looks through the house for Chile, Teo opens the door for Rose who lets herself in and sees the table set. She tells them that a little birdie told her that they would be there at this hour and decided to drop by. She again notices the food and goes for a plate and a chair so that they can all have dinner together.

At the casino, Octi’s goon has checked the cameras and found nothing. Octi is sure someone had to be helping Chile because no one wins that much money at his casino. They grab Tito and take him to the office, but Chile assures him that Tito had nothing to do with his winning….it was pure luck. When Octi lets Chile go, Chile asks for his winnings, so Octi gives him only half. After Chile complains, Octi tells him he can go file a complaint with Nestor.

Ep 26, Part 2: Flor Hears Dead People

At Flor’s house, Rose eats while she rambles on about how her relationship roles have changed with Teo. At this time, she could even be his stepmother. Flor and Teo are not amused. After Flor excuses herself to go to the restroom, Rose asks what is going on because Flor doesn’t look good. Teo doesn’t know what to say.

Upstairs, Flor paces in her bedroom and looks at the mirror. Val comes up behind her and as his voice echoes when he says, “My love, I continue to love you,” Flor hears him once more. She looks around the room in shock, then covers her ears as she says that she doesn’t want to hear him.

Elpi sneaks into Oscar’s study once more to look for Aure’s birth certificate. Once inside, Oscar comes in and tells him that he was waiting for him; he asks Elpi what it is that he is looking for in his house.

At the funeral home, Chile calls out to Val and tells him to appear, Chile thinks Val won’t appear because he will Val thinks he will probably scold him for leaving him alone. Just then, Marga arrives.

Oscar asks Elpi to give him an explanation for breaking into his house; so Elpi admits that he is looking for Aure’s birth certificate. He has reason to believe that Aure is his son.
Marga asks Chile not to pressure her about their relationship…she is having other problems. When Chile asks her to leave, Marga tells him that she needs to take some things off her chest and he is the only one she trusts…she loves him. Marga cries that she feels like she is drowning; she can’t sleep because of a secret she has. Chile urges her to confide in him; he will take her secret to the grave. Marga then tells him that Elpi is Aure’s father. Meanwhile, Epi is spilling his guts to Oscar and tells him how Marga and he would meet at a secret place. They fell in love. Marga is also telling Chile that she and Elpi loved each other very much; she would have left everything to go away with Elpi. Chile doesn’t really want to hear this. After Elpi left town, Marga found out she was pregnant; and when Elpi finally returned, he returned as a priest. She decided to keep the secret. Elpi tells Oscar that if Aure is his son, he should know it. Chile assures Marga that he will help her so that no one will suspect anything because she has nothing to be ashamed of.

At the casino, Mariana is waiting tables when a nasty-looking man makes a pass at her and wants her to sit and have a drink with him. When he grabs at her, she sternly tells him to let her go, but when she sees Octi scowling at her, she changes her tone and tells the man she is working and can’t sit with him.

Rose is downstairs with Teo as she relishes in the meal Teo prepared for Flor. She then shows him her CKlass catalog as she stands behind him and wraps her arms around him to turn the pages. Flor comes down and tells Teo and Rose that she is tired and not feeling well; so she is going to turn in. Rose invites Teo to accompany her out since they will both have to leave. Before he leaves, Teo goes to Flor to make sure she will be okay. Flor apologizes because she was that that something cold happen between them. As Teo and Rose walk out the door, Val dances a little victory jig.

Chile is laying in a casket in his boxer shorts as he tells Marga that she is a bad woman since she came and took advantage of his little heart. Now she got him involved in her problem. He is not just a pretty face; there is blood running through his veins. Marga knows very well about his blood…that is why she likes him. Chile is feeling used and if he gave in to her, it’s only because she was so upset. When he tells her that he is tired of hiding as if they are doing something wrong, Marga promises to talk about their relationship after she resolves the problem with Itza.

At the casino, Lola pleads with Octi to give her just one chance to dance in a show. After he gets fed up with her pleas, Octi tells her that the casino is full and she’d better not let him down.

Ep 26, Part 3: Flor Hears Dead People

Marga arrives to be greeted by Rose who asks her why she gets so nervous. This is the second time she catches her sneaking in. Marga tells her that she was at church, but Rose bumped into Elpi who told her that she hadn’t been to church in quite some time. Marga avoids all the questions by reminding Rose that she is her mother and then walks out.

At the casino, Tito introduces the next act. Octi watches as Lola comes out in a very short, shimmery gold dress and dances to a very slow tune. After Octi demands that they change the music to a more upbeat song, Lola wows the crowd with her sexy dance.

Oscar is talking to Oriana on the phone; she is trying to talk him into telling Teo the truth about himself. When Teo arrives, Teo shakes his finger to show that he doesn’t want to talk to Oriana. When Oscar ends the call, Teo confides to Oscar that he is very worried about Flor since she says that she hears Val. He thinks it might be some type of emotional shock because of everything that has happened to her.

Octi is very surprised with Lola’s show and tells her that, if she continues to dance that well, she might be the next star. As Paris eavesdrops, Lola suggests that if he pays her more and lets her keep the tips, she will dance with more alluring moves. He wants to change her name.

Mariana arrives home to find Aure in her bedroom. He wants to talk, but Mariana tells him to go sleep in the living room. Aure explains that Paris approached him to ask him about their relationship. When he fumbles as he tries to explain, Mariana chides him for not being able to explain adequately. Xochitl then comes in crying because she had a bad dream; she wants to sleep with them. After Aure tells her to get into bed, Xochitl asks her mommy to join them. Once they are all in bed, Mariana is frowning as Xochitl takes Aure’s hand and places it on Mariana.

At the casino, Lola is about to leave, when a man stops her to compliment her on her dance. He thinks that with her skills, she could be making so much more money. Tito, who is cleaning up one of the gambling tables, makes an exerted effort to listen as Axel, the man, tells Lola that with a weekend alone with him, she could make what she makes in 3-4 months at the casino. He gives her his number.

Octi tells Sami that he has never regretted having asked Sami to drink with him at the bar (when they first met). Sami agrees that those were nice times, but those times are gone. When Sami brings up Paris and suggests that they shouldn’t share a bed (out of respect for Paris), Octi explains that what he had with Paris was just a payback; he really loves her. Sami tells him that what he needs is time…time to think so he can he be sure who he really wants to be with…and the fact that he chose Paris over her as the star of the show doesn’t help him much.

Next Day—

Rose goes to Oscar and greets him lovingly, but he tells her that she can stop pretending since Teo is not there. Rose came to ask him a question…she thinks that Oscar is seeing her mother. After Oscar vehemently denies it, he asks to talk to her…they can’t continue with the charade.

Lola arrives at Flor’s house; and Flor tells her she is going crazy. She hears Val…maybe she needs to be checked into a psychiatric clinic. Lola thinks Flor needs professional help and knows a psychologist who Flor can talk to. Flor wants the contact info immediately…before the memory of this man ruins her life. Val, who has been listening, thinks he is making progress; he just needs to be patient.
 

YMSOD will air next Tuesday. Univision will air a Cronicas special of Silvia Pinal, which the series of Silvia Pinal will air next Monday at 9p/8c.

"Marga knows very well about his blood…that is why she likes him" was my hands down favorite.

"Marina wonders how he will do that and if he will accomplish that by gambling or sleeping with one of the casino ladies". Hmmm, perhaps both? If pressed, I'd say the latter.

"Rose...notices the food and goes for a plate and a chair so that they can all have dinner together". How thoughtful.

"Chile assures Marga that he will help her so that no one will suspect anything because she has nothing to be ashamed of". This is why I am such a huge Chile fan.

Octi has quite the bevy of beauties, doesn't he? :) I suspected Lola would be a hit and she was. Octi has quite a lot to juggle. I think he is totally unappealing, but that's just me.

I feel for Flor. She is trying to put her life together but Val isn't ready to let her go. But, without him there would be no story!

Diana, I feel for Flor too, but being that we now are being told that it has only been a month since Val died, I'm back to shaking my finger at Flor for jumping into bed with Teo so quickly. Where is the love...for Val? Yes, he left her with a lot of problems, but seriously, does a woman who supposedly loved him SO much, run into another man's arms that quickly?

Oh you missed the yellow boxer shorts! LOL that was a funny scene.

Late to the discussion, so there's nothing much to discuss. Thanks, RGV and all for clarifying the adoption proposal. That just went over my head.

Think about it, though, if Don L accepts Marina as his child, wouldn't the government step in and insist that the marriage between "siblings" be annulled? Or have we become better at the truthiness of this situation? I remember a whole Hallmark-type movie about two single adults with half-grown children who decide to get married AFTER two of their children fell in love. They were counseled to break up because they had been living as "siblings," so their relationship just cannot be recognized. Pooh, Bah! I can't even remember if it ended happily--if it was Hallmark, it did.

Of course, that won't help Don L one bit. He'd still have a bio-daughter and an ex-non-bio-son on his hands.

What's a schemer like Su going to do?

The fact that Toribio is over the moon with moving to the city, my Crock-Pot theory is that they never make it.

Doris--I reverse your Crock-Pot theory and it will be Marina who will need the blood transfusion and only Don L. has the right kind of blood.

Nina--I think Marina has equal parts of Don L. and Pru in her. She's nice and loving to everybody until someone like Don L. or Doc M. start messing with her. Then she gives as good as she gets. (Yeah, Doc M said as much after he got off of Marina, that he just couldn't do "it". We can take that either way, although he actually said he couldn't to that to her.

Is Luis messing around with Duck Lips Susana? She was quacking away with him like something is going on. And what is that thing Prucencia is wearing across her chest? Is that something Luis makes her wear, like a human version of Fido's shock collar?

Why oh why didn't Alberto go ahead and punch Halfface's lights out, when he was all drawn back and ready? Is Albert left handed? On second thought, he still had on his good watch too. Sometimes that breaks the band. But it could be tricky. If you can't get Halfface turned just right, you might get the fiberglass side and that would be like punching your boat. We know how well that does NOT work.

OK, NiNa, I have forgotten about Marina's past sins. Shit, just in time, she is preggers. And ya know, that blind thing could kinda work. She is pretty, and if you could get that dam cane away from her for a night, shoot, you wouldn't even need the blindfold or handcuffs.

Somebody needs to make an app for their phones to educate these Mexican girls about procreation. They always seem to be totally surprised and shattered when they are like.... a hundred days late. Most Gringo girls know how that happens. I mean, they don't care, but at least to them it is not like decoding the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Like: “Oooo did you hear they found out that Katrina has cancer?” “Oh No, well, I heard that Marina got embarazada, you just never know when your number will come up.”

Yola DID ask Marina if they had used protection and Marina said no. I guess in the heat of passion, Beto forgot to bring along some extra-thin contraceptive devices. Shame on him.

Why Marina never mentioned to him that there was no "evidence" after her sequester by Doc Mask. Those are the inconsistencies we have to live with in order to stretch the story out.
 

Kirby, yes, we have missed your hilarious comments. Diana is recapping la Reina soy yo. Are you watching that perchance? There's a narc angle but it's mostly about the music industry. I'm liking it so far, but there doesn't seem to be a huge audience for it. Not on CarayCaray anyhow.

I watch Mirada from time to time but am having trouble handling the shaming going on at the moment. That is a storyline that always gets to me. Your wisea$$ comments make it easier to take though.

Ep 43, Part 1: She’s Having My (or Someone’s) Baby

Pru tells Dami and Angsty that one needs to know how to negotiate with Don L. He worries about all the gossip. They discuss Don L’ sidea about adoption and Pru explains that Beto and Marina would both be heirs. Dami thinks that the decision about adoption should be Marina’s.

Beto walks along the sidewalk when Doc approaches him and asks how his marriage is working out since he now knows that Marina was his. Beto grabs him and Doc dares him to beat him up; he will not lift a finger to defend himself. Doc continues to taunt him by telling Beto that he knows that his kisses are all over Marina. People gather as Doc keeps daring Beto to hit him.

Marina gets off the taxi when she is told that they are near the waterfall. She goes to sit under a tree to cry. She thinks about all that has happened and is sure that the baby is hers and Beto’s.

Beto arrives home asking for Marina. When Dami points out that he went to look for her, Beto tells her that they argued and Marina came home alone; Dami will talk to Marina.

Yola asks how it went with Marina; so Beto tells her that Marina doesn’t understand how he feels. When Yola points out that the baby could be his, Beto responds that he needs to be sure that the baby is his…and Marina refuses to get a DNA test done on the baby.

Erasmo and Lino talk about their love lives. Erasmo asks for advice as to how to impress Yola.

Tori shows up at the tree and hands Marina some flowers. When he sees that she is sad, he tries to cheer her up. He ends up taking her to Baldo’s place where Marina confides to Baldo that she is pregnant and that Beto doesn’t love her as much as she thought. She continues to explain how she feels and “knows” that Beto is the father; she doesn’t need proof. She doesn’t understand why Beto doesn’t trust her judgement.

Beto tells Vanesa about Marina being pregnant; he never thought life could get so complicated. When she asks if the baby is his since there have been so many stories, Beto takes offense and tells her not to be repeating the stories. Beto confides that he was intimate with Marina before they got married…once. Vanesa then figures that there is a 50% chance that the baby is his and suggests that a DNA test be done. When Beto worries that the baby might not be his, Vanesa mentions putting the baby up for adoption. Beto then tells Vanesa that Marina is refusing to get the DNA test on the baby. Vanesa thinks that Beto should give Marina a chance…the country folk have different beliefs and ideas; they tend to accept their crosses. Vanesa understands his dilemma and hopes that once Marina calms down, she will have a change of heart. They finish with a friendly hug.

Yola is trying to study when Lino comes in and sees that she is frustrated with her studies and the work she has around the house. When he reminds her that Dami has been helping out quite a bit, Yola tells him that Baldo didn’t listen to her when he asked him to give their father a chance with Dami…there father would be very happy. She is going to see what she can do to get Dami and Mago together.

Marina is still with Baldo when Beto calls Baldo to ask for Marina. Baldo then tells Marina that Beto will be coming for her. Afterwards, Marina tells Tori that she is pregnant. Tori is elated because he and Baldo can help take care of the baby.

Lino and Yola continue talking. Lino asks her what an admirer would have to do to impress her. After Yola describes her perfect man and what he would have to do, Lino goes and shares the info with Erasmo.

Beto picks up Marina from Baldo’s house. As they drive back, Beto asks Marina to try to put herself in his place. He will always love and support her, but he needs to know if the baby is his since he is not sure he could establish a relationship with the baby if it is not his….he doesn’t know if he could love the baby. Marina gets upset thinking that he would hate the baby…she now knows how fragile his love for her is.

Ep 43, Part 2: She’s Having My (or Someone’s) Baby

Pru tells Don L that she has asked her attorney to check into what is needed to go through with the adoption. Don L still refuses to refer to Marina as his daughter and insists that he wants Beto to continue being known as his son.

Su asks Zackrat if he has seen Vanesa with Lino. When he tells her that they haven’t seen each other, he thanks her in a snide, flirty way; so Su warns him that just as she got him to be foreman, she can have him run off.

Mago and Dami have a nice time preparing dinner together. As they set the table, everyone else comes in, including Beto and Marina. Before they start eating, Marina tells them that she is pregnant. Everyone congratulates happy Marina and not-so-happy Beto.

Su advises Don L that Prudencia needs to leave everything in his hands. When Don L mentions the blind one, Su berates Marina and tells him that she is really good at fooling everyone and getting everyone to feel sorry for her; even Vanesa feels sorry for Marina

Horti, who overheard Marina’s news, runs to Angsty to share the news. As they talk Don L overhears. Meanwhile, Su is with Pru advising her that her attitude is going to destroy her marriage. Su thinks Don L has been the model husband, but Pru doesn’t think he has done such a good job lately. They then talk about Marina and having her last name changed. Su warns Pru about putting their fortune in Marina’s hand…Pru should give Marina time to prove herself worthy, but Pru argues that Marina deserves that and much more. As they talk, Don L enters and tells them that the blind one is very pregnant.

Angsty goes to Mago’s to confirm the news. Mago thinks the boss will be happy (NOT!) since the baby will be an Ocaranza from both sides. When Angsty mentions that Don L overheard Horti telling her the news, Marina asks Beto to go talk to his parents.

Su thinks that the baby could be Doc’s and Don L is sure that it is. After Pru leaves to see her daughter, Su thinks that Don L’s history is repeating itself, but Don L thinks it is totally different. After they continue to trash Marina, Su mentions a DNA test which Don L thinks will be pivitol in convincing his son that the blind one is a tramp. Su then advises him that he should put off giving that tramp anything because, if he does, he would have to accept the bastard in her womb.

At Mago’s everyone leaves, so Dami remarks to Marina that Beto looked worried. As Pru walks in, Yola butts in and tells Dami that Beto is having doubts and wants a DNA test to show who the father is. Marina cries that Beto should trust in their love which should be enough to fight against whatever comes. Beto should trust her because, despite what everyone says, she knows that the baby is Beto’s.

Don L tells Beto that he hopes he is not expecting him to congratulate him. When he mentions that the baby could be Doc’s, Beto counters that it could be his too. Don L advises Beto not to be blinded by his love and hopes that Beto will not accept the baby as his; so Beot tells him that he is asking for a DNA test. Beto then tells Don L that he is there to make sure that Don L is going to keep his word and give Marina what is rightfully hers. After Beto assures Don L that he will agree to keep his last name, Don L tells him that his attorney will prepare all the paperwork, but he can’t guarantee that it will be soon. Beto advises Don L that he will have to sign the documents in the city because he is leaving the next day.

 

Another great recap, Rgv Chick, and clever title. Now that song will be in my head for a few hours. Flashback to the 70s! I feel so young again! LOL

Oh, gah! This episode is just more of the same.

Doc Mask just turns my stomach. Such assholery and douchebaggery. He better get a large, satisfying ANVIL!

I want to take a Nerf bat to Marina and tell her that unless she is psychic, has "the sight", or whatever, there is no way she just KNOWS that baby is Beto's. How many weeks between her and Beto revolcandose and Doc Mask's staged rufie rape? Maybe an ultrasound will help, at some point?

Ep 27, Part 1: The Devil’s Deal

Rose is with Oscar who has just told her that their little charade has to end. Rose is very upset. When Oscar reminds her that they really weren’t in a relationship, Rose admits that the only reason she agree to go along with was to make Teo jealous…Teo is her everything/.

Val tells Chile that they need to convince Flor that she is not crazy…and he knows how to convince her, but he needs Chile’s help.

Flor talks to a doctor on the phone and tells her that she is having hallucinations; she hears things. Just then, Chile knocks on her door and tells her that he knows about the mirror; so she lets him in. After Chile describes how she and Val were together the night before he died, Flor thinks that Val must have told him about it before he died….and Chile knows about the mirror because he was either spying on her or he broke it himself. Chile then suggests that Flor go anywhere in her house, that she write something, and Val will tell him what she wrote. Flor goes upstairs and writes something down while Val watches, but he doesn’t seem too happy with what she wrote. Flor then goes back downstairs and tells Chile to go ahead and tell her what she wrote. Val takes his time appearing, and when he does, he sadly tells Chile that Flor wrote, “Valentin, I hate you.” When Chile tells Flor, she wonders how he did that trick. As Flor yells that everything he is telling her is a lie, Val starts yelling at Chile too; so Chile tells them both to stop! When Chile insists that Val is there, Flor tells him to tell his friend to leave her alone; she is fed up with him. Chile responds that Val already heard…and Chile also heard how Val’s heart broke. Flor remarks that his friend had no heart. She then threatens Chile that if he doesn’t stop bothering heer, she will report him as a stalker.

Mariana comes to her bedroom and Xochitl, whi is still in bed along with Aure, tells her that she slept well and had a nice dream about having a little brother; so Xochitl now wants a little brother (better put an end to that idea, Mariana!).

Lola enters and tells Flor about her debut and how it was a success. Lola thinks that if she continues to get the tips, she might be able to got to Mexico City to study. Flor is not really listening; so Lola notices and thinks that Flor doesn’t care about her. When Flor explains that she has other things on her mind, Lola tells her that she has her own things going on and won’t bother to tell Flor about them anymore.

Flor goes to talk to Father Elpi and warns him that she has a strange question to ask him—does he think that spirits can communicate with the living? Elpi responds that he thinks that the spirits of their loved ones are close to them, but, as far as actually having spirits talk to the living, Elpi doesn’t believe they do.

Lola packs her things and leaves a note for Flor. She then calls Axel (who gave her his card and proposed that she spend a weekend with her) and asks to meet with him.

Teo tells Mica about his problems with Flor. Every time they are together, something happens that interferes with whatever they are going to do. He tells her about the mirror and how Flor freaked out. He worries that Flor will be affected. Just then, Rose comes in crying and tells Teo that everything ended. She is a special woman with dignity…and she has much love to give. When he asks what happened, she tells him to go ask his father why he ended their relationship without any explanation. Between her sobs, Rose feels very humiliated and quits because she can’t continue working there.

Ep 27, Part 2: The Devil’s Deal

Mica gives Teo some advice as Val listens. She suggests that he ask Flor to marry him…she thinks that is what Flor wants to hear. Val argues with them uselessly. Teo would like to be with Flor and have a family with her, but he needs to wait to see what it is that Flor is thinking and feeling. Just then, Marga enters and wants a check-up since she felt somewhat faint.

Nestor asks Chile for the payment for Teo’s truck. Nestor hopes that this will be a lesson for Chile so he’ll stop playing pranks.

Val goes to Chile at the funeral home. Chile wants Val to take him to Las Vegas…when he is rich they can come back and help Val with whatever. When Val argues, Chile chides Val for being so selfish and only thinking of himself. Val vanishes.

Flor goes to Itza. She is curious to know what Itza meant when she last told her about the cards indicating something about death. Itza doesn’t want to talk about it because it will only hurt Flor. Flor then tells Itza about the mirror and hearing Val. When she adds that Chile also keeps telling her that he talks to Val, Itza reminds her that they know how Chile is…somewhat unstable and untrustworthy. Itza tells Flor that she read her cards yesterday; she assures Flor that her future is clear of problems and assures her that the dead don’t return.

Itza goes straight to Father Elpi and insists that Val’s spirit is still roaming around, but Elpi refuses to listen and tells her that all of that is just superstitions. Itza concedes, but takes some holy water.

Teo asks Marga some questions regarding changes she may be having because of menopause. Marga fans herself as she insists that it can’t be happening to her. Teo then suggests some tests to check her hormone levels.

Val goes around shouting out for Carlota so she beams him to her office. Val gives her an update and complains that nothing is going well for him. Carlota suddenly disappears.

Itza goes to Flor’s house and does some ritual to bless the house. She places some objects and pours a white powder around the house.

Val is still in Carlota’s office when he is beamed to another office and meets Carlota’s sister, Maximiliana; she comes from a place that is warmer. Val wonders if she is referring to hell. Maxi sympathizes with Val since things are not going well and tells him that if they couldn’t help him upstairs, then they can help him. She can help him have different abilities, but she needs his soul after everything is finished. When Val shakes his head, Maxi will give him time to think…and she will give him a taste of the skills he could have…he will be able to use the skills for a few hours. If he wants to be heard, all he has to do is wish it. If he makes up his mind about the deal, all he has to do is call out her name.

Flor talks to Mariana; she can’t forget all the messages Chile has given her. She gets chills just thinking that Val’s spirit is roaming around. Mariana wonders if Flor really believes in ghosts. When Mariana mentions Teo, Flor realizes that she hasn’t answered his many calls; so she calls him. Teo asks her to see him at her house; he has something important to tell her. Meanwhile, Val has returned to town and is testing his new abilities.

Ep 27, Part 3: The Devil’s Deal

Chile is sleeping in his casket when Marga comes knocking. When Marga tells him that Teo told her that her days of passion are about to end, Chile assures her that she is still young. He starts to kiss her as Val appears and makes a casket move. When Chile tells Val to get out, Marga thinks he is talking to her. Chile starts kissing her again as Val tries to tell him that he has new superpowers, but Chile is quite distracted.

Mariana is letting the students into the academy when Flor and Teo arrive. They see the white powder and think it must be some type of bug killer. Just then, Itza runs up ant tells Flor that she poured the powder because her plants have a plague. She also brought Flor an amulette, but Teo must be the one to put it around her neck. Right after Itza leaves, Val comes running up and calls out to Flor. When he gets to the white powder line, he bumps into an invisible wall…he can’t get through! Val then calls out to Maxi; so she beams him up (or down?). When he tells her about the invisible wall, Maxi tells him that she can’t help him with that. Val then figures that it was Itza who did something so he wants to go see her, but Maxi tells him that the clock is ticking. He needs to use his skills wisely instead of having his little tantrums. Val is then forced to sit at a desk that has a chess game on it; and the pieces have small pictures of all the “players’ Val may deal with. Maxi then tells him that if he can’t get to Flor, then he needs to find someone who can do it for him. Val thinks that it could be Rose since she has always had a thing for Teo, but she is wacko. As Maxi picks up the piece with Rose’s picture, Maxi thinks that the crazier she is the better…now they just need some secret that they can use. Val hesitates, but then mentions Marga’s relationship with Chile, but he doesn’t want to hurt Chile. Maxi advises that he has to use any weapon that is available.

Sheesh, another not so fun episode. I'm beginning to more fully appreciate why they have these subplots. When nothing is bubbling on the front burner we can always check out the back burners, Lino and Vanesa, Yola and Erasmo, Dami and Baldo and Margo. And maybe Dami has a few other ex-boyfriends, who knows?


Kirby, where you been, man? You're missing out on some great stuff. Poor little blind girl stumbles around the forest, gets run off or kidnapped and held prisoner, doubted by her boyfriend, no, husband, and other good stuff. Boating and fun in the sun are much overrated, really.

Thanks so much Rgv Chick for keeping me up to date during this Slough of Despond in the story. Just. Cannot. Watch. For now anyway. But certainly appreciate the recaps and enjoy the comments.

Bravo Rgv Chick! What an incredible recap.

“Chile is sleeping in his casket when Marga comes knocking” had me smiling away.

“Chile also heard how Val’s heart broke. Flor remarks that his friend had no heart” was hard to watch. "Chile is…somewhat unstable and untrustworthy” also makes me have a sad.

“Xochitl now wants a little brother (better put an end to that idea, Mariana!)”. Absolutely Rgv Chick! It’s one thing to want your feuding parents to reconcile another to ask for another child to muddy the mix further. Spoiled child indeed.

“Lola tells her that she has her own things going on and won’t bother to tell Flor about them anymore”. Sigh. Et tu Lola? She should know better. Timing is everything – she should have cut Flor some slack.

I feel for Flor. There are times we need to listen to our heart despite what our mind tells us not to. Logic is sometimes futile.

I love Mica. Dispenses good, sensible advice in her no nonsense manner. A heart of gold and a supportive friend for Teo, she is one of my favorites.

I saw Carlota for the first time, I kept staring at her silver tooth.

So, I won't get to watch this today but am thrilled and grateful for your recap Rgv Chick. Thank you!

Then she gives as good as she gets.” DITTO!! And “Those are the inconsistencies we have to live with in order to stretch the story out.” So true! and there are SO many!

Diana, we are truly enjoying this despite the fact that the story is in a deep, dark valley right now.

Thank you, Diana! I'm so glad you got to see Carlota...and now her sister, Maximiliana! She is one of my many favorite characters! And I like Mica too. She's about the only one who DOES MAKE SENSE!

I will be very disappointed if Val ends up closing that deal with the devil.
