Caray, Caray!

*Cristina gets a call from a TV station. They want to do an on air interview about this video that went viral. She checks with her attorneys. They tell her it’s a GO. Cris doesn’t look too excited.

*Leo is walking along the High Line at night. He gets a call from Bobby—just to say hello. Leo loves living in NYC, but he misses his buds and all things Mexican. He asks about Ric. Bobby says he’s not doing well. Bobby asks Leo to keep an eye on Adrián. There’s something about that guy he doesn’t trust. Leo finally gets it and starts laughing as Bobby admits Adrián is chasing Vicky. He swears if he hurts Vic, he’ll kill the guy—just joking. Leo accuses Bobby of being jealous, though never in a hundred years would he have believed it.

*The next day, Blondie, who will be doing the outdoor, on camera interview, is giving Cristina last-minute instructions on how it is to be conducted. Leo, Ollie, Sofia and Adrián are with her for support. They assure her everything will turn out well. Blondie starts the interview. Cristina explains why she’s doing it. Blondie announces that other women have come forward to accuse the same man. It’s over. Short and sweet, but they got their point across.  Leo takes a call. It seems they have another victim willing to testify. Now they can proceed.

*Cris is nervous about what comes next. Ollie calms her down while the other three lawyers pay the DA a call. He’s been on the phone, probably with Blums, telling him not to worry, he’ll handle the matter. The three troop in to tell him they have another witness, so the case can go to trial. The DA sputters, but can’t deny their request. He tells them they probably won’t get the outcome they want. Leo warns the DA if he tries to stop the case from going to trial, he’ll file a complaint. And furthermore, he hopes his “patron” has paid him plenty, because he’ll be out of a job. The DA bristles at the insinuation that he is protecting Blums, but they don’t wait for his explanation and they troop back out. When they get back to Cris and Ollie, they announce that a judge has been assigned to the case. They go off to prepare.

*Over dinner at a restaurant they strategize. One of them wonders if one of Blums’ attorneys will come up with a claim of a psychological problem as a defense. He may get therapy. They need to have an airtight case that he could engage in what he did because he had money and power.

*Trevor (from HR)  has called Sofía. He wants to talk—to reach a settlement. Sofia tells him it’s a little late for that. Cris meanwhile, is full steam ahead. She isn’t disposed to settle. She’s out for JUSTICE. You go girl!

*Ric is in the courtroom, getting ready to hear Karla’s testimony before the judge regarding visitation rights for Fanny. Fanny is afraid Lucrezia won’t bring her, but nope, here she comes. Ric talks first. He thanks the judge for considering Karla’s feelings. Guzman, Lucrezia’s attorney jumps up and says this is all a mistake, the child is confused by all this. The judge cuts him off and Karla is brought up to the front. The judge asks her a series of questions. She says Fanny is her mother, well, she had two mothers, but Janeth just died. Ric then asks whom do you want to be with? Karla answers immediately, Fanny. Guzman objects and says Ric is leading her to answer that way. Ric continues. Ric asks if she ever saw her grandmother. Karla says no. Lucrezia jumps up and yells that they wouldn’t let her see Karla. Ric continues. Did her mothers ever hurt her? Karla says no.

*The judge thanks them, then asks Karla if she has anything to say. Karla asks if she’s going to be able to see Fanny. The judge says the answer will be later. Guzman tries again to say that Karla is confused. Ric says Fanny wants the best for Karla and in this situation, visitation should be part of it. After the recess, the judge says he’s ready to hand down his decision. According to the law, custody of a minor is quite clear. Lucrezia will continue to have custody, but it is his job to see that the welfare and mental health of a minor is taken into consideration. He decrees that Fanny will have four visits per week, lasting five hours each. Granny jumps up and says the judge is crazy. Fanny agrees to a couple of stipulations the judge makes for her visits.

*Lucrezia goes up to Ric and says she hopes he can live with his conscience because if her granddaughter turns into a pervert, it will be his fault. He’s sorry she feels this way, but the only one hurting Karla is Lucrezia. Granny keeps on singing the pervert tune she can’t get out of her head. Ric tells her that she has more to learn from Karla about love and family relationships than Karla does from her. Granny refuses to concede. She swears she’ll never let Karla near Fanny. Ric reminds her there’s a judge’s order and if she doesn’t comply, she might lose custody. He goes back to the table where Lorena and Fanny are waiting. Fanny gives them both a big hug.

*Later, Manuel checks up with Lorena on the case in the break room. Sadly he has to stop reading an article in the Wall Street Journal to do so. She gushes over how Ric handled Fanny’s visitation case and how she intends to keep learning from him. When he makes a comment that she’s doing this to stay close to Ric, she’s offended and annoyed at his presumptuousness. He can ask about the case, but not about her private life. She flounces away.

*That evening Bobby checks in on Ric. He’s looking into Patricia’s case. There’s something about Carlos. Bobby thinks the only thing Carlos is guilty of is being insupportable. He reminds Ric that Carlos was found innocent. He tries to get Ric to go out for a little distraction, but Ric prefers to go home and be by himself.

*Gus and Alonso are still in Jalisco with Josefina. The attorneys want to talk to the boys. She hopes they’ve calmed down a bit and are in a better mood. Here they come, with reinforcements. Each has his own attorney. Camilo (the dark haired one) wants to know why she’s doing this (buying back a voting majority of the shares from each of the boys). Victor, a little hot under the collar doesn’t think this is the way to go about it. He gets up and knocks over his chair, before coming back. His lawyer accuses Al of extortion (if he doesn’t sell the shares back, he’ll press charges of attempted murder of his brother). Al offers to come to an agreement, before the situation gets out of hand. Camilo’s attorney says his client is now aware of the error of his ways (going to the competition to sell his shares), but he wants his inheritance now, before his mother leaves this earth, in order to make some investments. Josey thinks he’s crazy. Camilo’s lawyer tells her to direct her comments to him. Josey is put out—she claims she doesn’t need attorneys to talk to her sons. They sit there and look at her, but neither of them says a word to her.

*Camilo accuses Josey of setting it all up. Al gets really steamed up over this comment. They argue. Cam’s lawyer says enough, they’ll go to court. Al says this internecine fight can’t be decided by a judge’s decision. Victor’s attorney still wants to take it to court. Cam’s attorney says they’ll be back with the details of the pre-death inheritance, or whatever they call it in English. (In Spanish they used Herencia Anticipada). Josey later contemplates that she thought her sons would be able to take over the business (tequila) without any problems, but she agrees with Al they are too immature. She didn’t want to, but it seems as though she will again have to become the head of the company and run it.

*Carlos receives a new client for Ibarra y Paez. The blonde in the red dress perks Carlos up. Michelle Sagudo introduces herself. She’s recently arrived from the States and wants to start a business in Mexico. He explains he’s a criminal attorney, but someone in his firm will make sure she’ll be well taken care of—and proceeds to take on the job himself. He’ll need some information from her and voilà, he has the incorporation papers and other documents ready for her signature. She claims she doesn’t understand a thing and is glad she’s in good hands. She heard he’s the best attorney in Mexico. She just wants to be sure she can sell her products in the U.S. and anywhere else. Surprise! She wants to pay in CASH. She tells Carlos she prefers not to move funds until everything is established. He's so nonchalant he acts like he does this every day.

*Later on, Michelle is having a talk with El Gringo. She tells him she’s decided that they should put some distance between them. He objects. She explains, duh, that she doesn’t want Carlos to have the remotest idea they have anything to do with each other or what they are up to. In any case, she needs him to keep an eye on El Ciego.

*Tatiana and Elisa (Juan’s friend at the courthouse) are in her cramped little office with piles of files surrounding them. Tatiana seems to be studying. At any rate she’s not paying much attention to Elisa. When she finally gets her attention, she indicates the files that have to be taken to the archives. Tatiana queries, all those? Disgusted, Elisa picks up the pile and struggles to exit the office. Tatiana swirls around and seats herself in Elisa’s place. I think she loves her job because there's so little she has to do. Juan walks in. They decide to get together later. Over dinner, he tells her that he’s picked out a house and expects to get it turned over to him soon. She’s happy for him. Tatiana serves up the same pet phrases that please him, and wonders if the house is just for his mother. No, he proudly announces that it is for the two of them to live in. (I really wonder how happy Susana will be, parked away away somewhere without her community.)
