Primetime on Univisión (#1): Week of May 20, 2019

Greetings, Caraymates!

Welcome to page 1 of Primetime TNs/Series which are not being covered by recappers. It’s your sandbox where you can gather to discuss, critique, snark, or just plain talk about your favorite or not-so-favorite characters, scenes, dialogues, wardrobe or whatever else you can think of. Everyone is welcome to join in the conversations. Highlights, summaries, or details of scenes/episodes are encouraged (this would be a good time to practice your skills in recapping :-). As of now there are no recappers for LRSY, so if some brave souls would like to contribute some highlights or a mini-recap, I’m sure it would be very appreciated. TNs/series covered by this page are:
  • 9-10PM – La Rosa de Guadalupe
  • 8-9PM   – La Reina Soy Yo : Ep. 7-9
As with other discussion pages for more than one TN, please identify the TN you are commenting on to avoid confusion and so readers can easily find the conversations they are looking for, especially after La Reina Soy Yo starts.

Discussion pages will be posted on Mondays and Thursdays at 9PM.

Proximas: “Silvia Pinal: Frente a Ti” starts May 27th at 9PM

Hi I just posted this on the previous post...

REINA

You Can’t Go Home Again

Jack and Yemeli lounging by the ocean as he promises to introduce her to the crème de la crème. At the gathering, Yemeli descends the staircase in a red slip of a dress, looking lovely. Jack is transfixed and for a moment, his heart is on his sleeve.

Yemeli mingles (a bit) and speaks with one of the men asking for “Charly”. He agrees.

Yemeli goes to her former home (?) now covered with graffiti and visits the bridge where the 3 amigos were all for one and one for all. I’m not clear what she sees at her parent’s grave but Juanjo must have done something – put in a headstone?

Whatever the gesture, she cries and later reads his unread letters and sheds more tears.

She later watches behind a tree and sees Juanjo with his finance.

Yem checks in with hawt DEA agent (included this for Judy :) Erick is at an arena where there is not fist fighting, but singing. His nerves get the best of him and he ends up throwing up. Several times.

Erick is singing/composing in his room and catches a cab. He is followed.

At his performance, Charly is mobbed by the paparazzi and fans. Charly gets a glimpse of Yemeli and the thunderbolt hits. Hard. Ack – Pierre Louis is his friend/bodyguard. He is joined on stage by his cloying, manipulative not so sweet wife. Yami fumes as she takes Jack’s call. He says something about her son but I don’t know what it was.

Yameli is followed by Charly. What will happen??

Diana

Thank you, Diana.

Yemi looked beautiful in that red dress, and Jack certainly seems to be falling for her. However, she and Juanjo are probably destined to be together.

"REINA":

Diana: I'm looking forward to seeing Charly's epic downfall.

Susanlynn: Big question is whether the audience can trust Juanjo ?

Diana, what a pleasure it is to soak in your excellent retelling of last night's events.

"Yemeli descends the staircase in a red slip of a dress, looking lovely. Jack is transfixed and for a moment, his heart is on his sleeve" Only you could provide such a eloquent description of that scene. Yameli looked exquisite and I am starting to really enjoy Mr. HAWT Marcelo.

I only got to see parts of last night's episode and will watch the rest later the morning. I can't wait to see the look on Charlatan's face when he first sees Yameli.

From what i saw though, I can fill in some of the conversations and details--

At the gathering, Jack told Yameli that the older man had been avoiding giving him support for a tour Jack had been trying to get going. He told Yameli that if she could get the older man to commit to them, Jack would know that Yameli was ready to go to Mexico City. Yameli approached the man, introduced herself, and quickly made her point. The older man did not want to commit until Yameli told him that she could get Charly Flow on board as part of the tour...since she had known him for several years.

That was Yameli's former home that she stopped to look at. It must have been so hard for her to see how it had been transformed into such a filthy looking place.

When Yameli's parents died, she had no money to bury her parents; so Juanjo collected enough money to give them a decent burial. She saw how Juanjo had kept his promise to always help her. In one of the letters Juanjo wrote to her, he told her that after the fire, there were no remains of her grandmother left to bury; so he had an altar (quite big!) built and placed a picture of the family there.

The event that Charly was having was the grand opening of his recording studio. When Jack called Yameli, she didn't know if she would have the strength to face Charly and not let her emotions get in the way of her mission. When Jack told her to find the strength by remembering her parents, her grandmother and her baby, Yameli agreed that she could complete her mission.

At the end, when Charly follows Yameli, he tells her that he knows her...he doesn't know from where, but he knows her.

I'll give more details if necessary after I watch the whole thing. Thank you so much for your recap, Diana. Loved it!

OOPSIE!! That was about REINA-SOY above ↑↑↑↑↑↑↑ and now below.

I just saw...the rest of the story...

Looks like Erick is taking after his mama in writing songs. He refused to go to the grand opening because he is no one to Charly who is full of his fame and fans. Mommy Lidia was not too happy so she ratted on him the Big Daddy Monchis and told him she couldn't control Erick anymore. She then told him to find out what Erick was up to since Erick is now his problem...that is why the goon was going to follow Erick.

I enjoyed the scene where Juanjo and Wendy (Guendolin) are in bed watching Charly's grand opening on TV...then opted to see a love story instead JA! Don't blame them!

Thank you so much for the recap . It was a big help because I can only try to figure out what is happening by the vusual.

I am intrigued by this show , and I like Mauricio and Michelle. Michelle just seems to get better and better with each telenovela.

REINA

Rgv Chick, thank you, thank you. Your excellent detail is so greatly appreciated! As Susanlynn says "I can only try to figure out what is happening by the visual".

Your explaining Juanjo's fulfilling his promises to Yami and doing so in such a kind, generous fashion was so heartening!

I kind of like Juanjo's girlfriend. Hmmm.

Perhaps I can impose on you to clear something up for me. So Lidia is raising Erick. Does Erick know Charly is his father and does Charley know Erick is his son?? "Mommy Lidia was not too happy so she ratted on him the Big Daddy Monchis and told him she couldn't control Erick anymore" means mama ain't too sweet, doesn't it?

I'm so enjoying this. Thank you for spending time you don't have to clarify everything that happened. And so beautifully too. Your kind comments were so sweet especially as I'm off the mark so much. But I'm trying! :)

Diana

REINA

Diana, Monchis took Erick from Yameli's grandmother after he shot and killed her. He then burned down the place; and the fire was blamed on faulty gaslines. Monchis took Erick (whom Yameli had named Mateo) to Lidia and did not tell her where he got the baby. Lidia only suspects that Erick is Charly's son because of the strong resemblance. Charly could careless about Erick; as Erick pointed out, Charly is too wrapped up in himself, his fame and his fans.

REINA

Thank you Rgv Chick for that all important information. So Charly doesn't care. How sad...

Half an hour to show time!!

Diana

REINA

Apologies as I missed much.

Reunions without Recognition

Yameli and Charly converse until his jealous wife arrives to spirit him away. But, not before Yameli shares her business card. BTW, she has on a two piece outfit that makes her look (even more) amazing. Her charms are not lost on either Charley or spouse. Yameli virtually collapses with grief as they take their leave verifying Charley has crushed her spirit.

Good looking Bandon Peniche speaks with a young woman saying he was a friend of her father’s.

Charly in a sequin jacket that would evoke envy from the showiest showman, sings a song for a reporter (which I gather garners backlash) and then joins his friends for music and making out with an array of women. Pierre Louis is by his side, egging him on – sigh.

Evil Teo crunches ice menacingly at Erick – whatever he spits out verbally causes Erick to cry.

Yemeli chats with Jack whose coif shows nary a hair out of place. Sorry, I couldn’t take my eyes off his hair.

Juanjo visits Yemeli’s family’s grave and sees the fresh flowers and leaves with his bouquet. His finance gets the leftovers.

Erick sneaks away from school and sings at the “boxing ring”.

Yameli and Charley lunch. Yameli is not impressed. Charly seems puzzled that anyone can resist his charms.

Yameli then goes and “introduces” herself to Juanjo, not heeding any of his words as she stares at the flower bouquet and picks up a picture of the trio a lifetime ago and as he narrates a brief history, looks stricken as he relates Yam is dead.

Erick is at a photo shoot with ? and is not happy Brandon has his arm around her and cautions her to be careful.

Yameli is on a set and meets Juanjo’s fiancée and is gracious in her congratulations and seems to actually manage a genuine smile as she walks away.

More conversation with Jack that I missed.

Charley is at a studio, trying for his next conquest. Yameli calls and advises him of an opportunity which he accepts before another tryst which I believe was the reporter who had previously savaged him. Wifey looks suspicious as they watch her change of attitude on Television, together.

Yameli is getting her groove back, composing her music.

Hoping I got something. Anything. Right.

Diana

REINA

Judy, a bit ago, I went back and checked the previous thread and saw your comments. Thank you for your always kind, supportive posts. You have always made myself and others feel valued. Thank you. I’m afraid I’ve let you and everyone down tonight as there was more dialog to try and process than usual.

I don't know what we would do without you...

Diana

Thank you so much , Diana. I missed the show because I forgot that it is on at 8.00...not 9.00. Darn.

Mauricio's hair is now salt and pepper. Soon he will be a silver fox .

Thanks to everyone for your comments and updates. I had to miss Monday's episode due to running the GUBER (Granny's Uber) service. Charley--ugh! Liked seeing Yameli back in a composing groove.

La Paloma. ...Guber..ha!

Good morning Diana. You're picking up a lot of words just from watching these shows, but you're right, a ton of complicated dialogue last night and some nasty stuff going on too. (And by the way, I would be absolutely lost without the closed captions which I know you don't have. So....)

Peniche is playing a typical telenovela scumbag...a fella who offers modeling contracts just to seduce innocent young girls. At the concert, he offered a drink to Charley's daughter but she refuses since she's underage. Then he throws her a line of BS that she could be a great model (not so...she's too short and not particularly striking either). Erick picks up on it right away when he sees him pawing her shoulder the next day after the supposedly great shoot which shows her incredible modeling talent. Erick tries to warn her but of course she has stars in her eyes about her great future.

Yameli resists Charley's efforts at seduction as you noted, but promises to bring him a great talent for his next show...a group he's never been able to get...Gente de Zona I think is the name. And she tells him it will also be the "gran estreno" of a new song (which she is writing) sooo.....big stuff about to come down.

The music critic was seduced by the hot news Charley gave her about Gente de Zona. The kerfuffle previously was that he made up a very vulgar rhyme about her and what a bothersome bitch she was after the concert when she tried to interview him. But they evidently solved that with some frenzied coupling in the studio.

Erick is being tailed by his putative dad's henchman because Monchi doesn't want him hanging around the docks singing reggaeton with his barrio buddies. He wants him to finish school, then go to university so he can be chief financial officer in Monchi's business. Not happenin' Monchi!

Actually, I continue to be amazed at how much you pick up from body language, tone of voice, emotional "stares" and also the Spanish words I can tell you're getting. Of course this is how we all learned language when we were babies and toddlers, but at that age, our brains were brand-new and geared to pick up everything. Much harder now-- so what you do figure out is astounding.

besos y abrazotes amiga...and big thanks....

REINA

Judy, I could cut and paste your entire recap. Just stellar…

“The kerfuffle previously was that he made up a very vulgar rhyme about her and what a bothersome bitch she was after the concert when she tried to interview him. But they evidently solved that with some frenzied coupling in the studio” is now branded into my brain.

“Then he throws her a line of BS that she could be a great model (not so...she's too short and not particularly striking either)” was wry and witty.

I’m really enjoying it although seeing Brandon Peniche as a bad boy will take some getting used to!

Judy, your recap said it all. Perfectly. Your generous words are so appreciated.

Thank you for coming to my rescue and fleshing out that occurred.

Diana

Good morning, Patio!

Diana, I too am amazed at how much you pick up from just “seeing,” you are truly gifted in picking up context cues! JudyB thank you so much for stepping in and providing such an excellent description of the added details. I missed most of the episode and my DVR didn’t record! UGHH!

I did get to see Brandon talking on the phone with Vanesa, Charly’s daughter. As soon as she lied about who she was talking to, I knew Brandin was going to be a bad dude. Oh well.

I really like seeing Yameli and Juanjo together. Maybe we can find Wendy another bf :-)

Rgv Chick:

Thank you so very much.

You and Judy have made my day.

Ah, so Vanesa is Charly's daughter. Do we know who is the mother? I'm afraid she is going to "swoon" over Brandon (much like I salivate about Arturo, Brandon's real life papa - sigh).

The hour just flies by. And being on at 8 is wonderful. I'm doing what I did for La Malquerida, having my computer out and jotting down a few key names or phrases and cleaning it up after. I can't count on my memory for much these days!

Diana

Diana, the only reason I can flesh out is because of the closed captions, which you don't have. My hearing is so bad now, even with hearing aids, that I miss a lot in English also. Aging is as humbling as parenting.

Vanessa's mom is Charly's wife, the gal he was with even when seducing Yameli. She followed him to Miami and at some point they wed. She's been functioning as his manager as well as wife, and of course she sniffed out the new danger ( the re-packaged Yameli) immediately and refused to even shake her hand when introduced. And forget that Latina kiss on the cheek! No way! She knows her husband is a mujeriego but she intuited that Yameli could be a real replacement for her, rather than a passing tumble in the sheets.
At least that was my impression.

Judyb...I always love your way with words. ... "Repackaged Yameli"...ha. Thanks for helping us understand exactly what happened. I must remember that this show is on at 8.00..not 9.00 . I missed it last night.

I’m really enjoying this one Susanlynn and I like the idea of watching it with my two buddies, you and Diana. Actually I watch it the next morning with my super buddy Kizzie the cat. But then talking about with you two and Rgv Chick really adds to it. Hopefully it will build a little audience in time. The production values are great and so is the casting.

Judy: thank you! It never occurred to me that Charly's wife was Vanessa's mother. She seems so...unmaternal.

"...she sniffed out the new danger (the re-packaged Yameli) immediately and refused to even shake her hand when introduced" was beyond.

Totally agree that "...Yameli could be a real replacement for her, rather than a passing tumble in the sheets"! Exactly!!

Charly must have been different once upon a time or Yameli would never have fallen in love with him. A choice with catastrophic consequences.

Diana

Judy and Susanlynn, yes, this brings us back over a decade when we watched countless TNs together.

Some things just get better and better...

Diana

Yep, telenovela friends forever. Alas Charley was always a self centered sleaze. But Yameli was young, naive and totally in love. He seduced her, stole her notebook of songs while she slept and planted drugs in her suitcase to get her out of the way afterwards. Now she’s a sadder but wiser gal bent on revenge. Our kind of lady! At least as far as these stories go.

REINA

Let’s Get This Party Started!

Charley schmoozes his spouse as they greet Jack and Yameli and who I believe is Gente de Zona (thank you Judy). Axel (Pierre Louis) is also present as the drinks flow. Vanesa joins the party. Some genuine modesty from one of the entourage as he nicely motions the appreciative audience to stop the compliments. Yameli plays her song to positive reaction except from wifey. Charly looks pained as he has a flashback to Yameli singing. Wifey takes Yameli aside and asserts her position of authority as his manager.

Charly is clearly bothered as he chastises Juanjo during his performance and even barks at Axel. The reporter Charly shagged shows up to record an on the spot report. Lots of compliments back and forth between the performers and then Charly takes the stage. Yam has flashbacks of her parent’s murder and arrest for drugs she didn’t know she was carrying and momentarily crumbles. Jack is there, sees it and offers silent support. Jack’s contempt of Charly is palpable.

Alone together, Juanjo tells Yameli something that I didn’t get.

Erick in a singing bout at the arena with Yameli in attendance. Not quite sure why she is there? I’m waiting to see if there is any spark or recognition when Erick starts singing. She smiles sweetly, claps and obviously loved the performance but I’ve just answered my question. Even his uncle’s henchie likes the performance.

Yameli stands outside and when she sees Erick, starts to cross the street. However, she stops short when she sees evil Monchis. Further, she recognizes another of his stooges from the past. You can almost feel the wheels turning.

Monchis, Charly and Lidia get into it. I believe he refers to Charly as his son and does not want Charly involved with music. Erick (and the patio) are not happy to see them kissing.

Yameli tells Jack Erich is the son of Monchis. She tells Jack about the show but I’m not sure if anything is starting to click yet. Don’t Yameli and Steve look like they belong together?? But I digress.

A press conference where Charly disses and dismisses his wife by no recognition. Good photo op for Vanessa and the starring act. Vanessa hugs Yameli which does not go over well.

Vanessa tells Erich about her day. Uh oh. It’s Brandon on the phone, calling her “guapa” and plying her full of insincere compliments. Vanessa soaks it in. Erich ruminates on the fact his father does not support him. She promises she will do otherwise.

A good musical performance with lots of confetti and an appreciative audience and unnecessary back up dancers in thongs. Charly has backstage jitters and is seeking solace from a bottle. Charly takes the stage via an elevator from the lower floor as Yameli watches with barely concealed contempt. Juanjo however seems impressed. We. Are Not.

Diana

Can someone please tell me Charly's wife's name??

I am really enjoying the music and the performance sequences.

I can't believe how fast the hour passes!

Diana

"REINA":

Diana: You were amazing in this recap. I hope Yameli gets to avenge the deaths of her parents & grandmother.

Thank you, Diana. I like the music but it took up a lot of time in this episode. I was wondering why Yameli was suddenly at Erich's performance. Did she hear the call of the blood ?

Jack is falling for Yameli, but Juanjo seems to be the one she is destined to end up with.Is the actor playing Charly really singing ? Also, where does Charly get those jackets? Yikes. His wife is literally trying her best to hold on to him.

REINA-SOY

Diana, I am really enjoying your recaps...your writing is spectacular. Thank you!

After the rehearsal, Yameli asked Charly if he would now sign with her since she got La Gente Zona to have a concert with him, but Charly told her "no, go" because their deal was that Yameli would get him some new talent. Afterwards, Yameli thought of talking to Juanjo so he could help her find new talent. Juanjo told her about the "Ring" at the port where there were contests for those who were trying to make a go of a career in music. That is why she went to boxing arena; and she was very taken with Erick who calls himself "Prince Koi" (or something like that, but I know it has the word KOI in it because he talked about how those fish swim against the current).

Later, when Yameli was telling Jack about Erick being Monchis' son, she also told him how Toño was the one who harassed her parents and probably killed them. She figured out that Monchis had her parents killed...and now Monchis has a debt to pay her; so she's going after Monchis for that, too. Both the DEA agent and Jack advised Yameli not to seek out Erick as a new talent since he is too close to Monchis...but we shall see if she will be able to resist "the call of the blood."

One of my favorite scenes was after Charly sang the song Yameli gave him. Juanjo asked Yameli who had written it, but she avoided telling him. He then told her that it reminded him of Yameli because the lyrics and message were something Yameli would have written. I really like Juanjo..such a sweetie!

BTW, you'll be remembering Charly's wife's name quite easily...it's DIANA! And I am enjoying the music too! It makes me want to get up and dance :-)

Reina Soy

Susanlynn, I was also wondering if the actor playing Charly was actually singing. It was very obvious that they wouldn't show a close up of him singing that new song...hmmmmm.

"REINA":

RGV Chick: Is Jack the DEA Agent ?

Reina Soy

Steve, Jack is the one who trained Yameli at the beachhouse and is a bigwig in the music industry. Ben, the guy Yameli talked to on the phone, is the DEA agent.

Chickie...thank you for the recap. Is Jack working with the DEA agent?

Chickie, thank you forgive recap.

Is Jack working with the DEA?

Not "forgive"....."for the "

Diana, I agree with Steve and Rgv Chick--this was an amazing recap, starting with the title (a great song from the past that was great for dancing).

And it was as if you caught the rhythm of the music and your entire recap just pulsed and flowed seamlessly.

As Susanlynn pointed out, there was A LOT OF MUSIC, which I thought really captured the abundant self-regard of the entertainment world with everybody high-fiving, hugging, blasting music and compliments but ultimately just a lot of meaningless glitz and froth. Sound and light. Frenetic, sexual dancing. But no real substance. People going crazy. But over what?

I guess those dancers on thongs were just to remind us that these shows are one gigantic mating dance.

Anyway, I was happy to see my DEA agent make a cameo appearance. And Juanjo is always a pleasant character to watch. Also, found it interesting that when Jack told Yameli/Lari he was relocating his business to Mexico because of the reggaeton talent, she was not fooled for one minute and made it clear that her heart was closed to any romance at the moment.

As for the fella playing Charly, don't know if he can actually sing, but I sure do like the way he moves. Quite the professional dancer.

Diana, this was one of your best recaps. You wrote like a musician, my friend. Hope you're having better weather than we are. It looks more like 8:30 at night than 8:30 in the morning and the rain is drumming down.

Have a great day everybody, regardless of the weather.

Reina-Soy

Susanlynn, yes, Jack and Ben, the DEA Agent are working together.

JudyB, thanks for mentioning Jack moving to Mexico City...and though his excuse was "It's only because of business," keen Yameli saw right through it.

I know that Mané de la Parra (Juanjo) is a singer also, but Lambda Garcia isn't known as a singer. This is what Wiki says about Lambda:

García studied acting at Centro de Estudios y Formación Actoral para Televisión (CEFAT) of TV Azteca, with his teachers Dora Cordero and Raúl Quintanilla; he also attended the Broadway Dance Academy to study musical theater

So JudyB, no wonder that man can move!

Rain? We could use some of that in the RGV!

I'm blown away by everyone's kindness this morning.

Thank you Steve, Susanlynn, Rgv Chick and Judy.

I appreciate all the important details you both provided Rgv Chick and Judy. I wondered how Yameli ended up seeing Erich and now I know. Rgv Chick your vivid words brought everything to life.

Judy, your "I guess those dancers on thongs were just to remind us that these shows are one gigantic mating dance" made me laugh out loud. You observe everything with absolute clarity. And I appreciate the tidbit about Jack moving his business but Yameli not open to romance. Gullible, she is not. But what a terrible road she had to take to get there.

Honestly, while I do enjoy the music, it's a bit of a break for me to try and get my thoughts down. If it were non-stop dialog, I'd be lost.

Rgv Chick and Judy, thank you for being my wing women and making everything so crystal clear!

Diana

Reina-Soy

Diana, I got distracted with the questions. I agree with JudyB, your recap brought music to my ears, especially with:

Yameli stands outside and when she sees Erick, starts to cross the street. However, she stops short when she sees evil Monchis. Further, she recognizes another of his stooges from the past. You can almost feel the wheels turning. Oh to be inside her brain watching how she is making all the connections!

Uh oh. It’s Brandon on the phone, calling her “guapa” and plying her full of insincere compliments. Vanessa soaks it in. Erich ruminates on the fact his father does not support him. Erick and Vanessa seem to be hitting it off. I sure hope they don't get into the half brother - half sister taboo relationship!

Charly has backstage jitters and is seeking solace from a bottle. Charly takes the stage via an elevator from the lower floor as Yameli watches with barely concealed contempt. Yameli's expressions tell it all, don't they?

Rgv Chick:

So wifey is Diana?

Sigh. Thank you.

Every Diana in any TN I've seen is a beyotch.

Diana (who tries hard not to be beyotch):)

REINA-SOY

I translated the song Yameli gave to Charly (with a little help from Google Translate) only because it had such an effect on Charly, Yameli, and even Juanjo. Charly admitted to his wife, Diana, that it got to him...and we know he was thinking of Yameli when he first sang it since he had those flashbacks. I think it is a song that Yameli would have liked Charly to write and sing for her. Here it is...

FORGIVE ME

Tell me that you still believe in us
Tell me it is not true
That you think about my kisses
That you do not want to forget.

How do I tell my memory
To not think of you anymore?
How do I explain to my body
That I will not touch you again?

I betrayed your trust, lady
I ended your life, baby
I was an idiot
I didn’t know how to value you.

I never saw what you were, lady
Selfishness won over me, baby
I stole your wings
I lost you in the dark.

Forgive me, I want to have you again
Even if it's for a single night, just one more night
Forgive me, I will not lose you
I'm not planning on leaving you now, you'll return

I want you to escape (for)
One night with me, let's fly together.
Give me your mouth, let's go back to the site
Where we kissed that night, baby;
I know that you want to go back.

Forgive me
If I tell you the truth, I was wrong.
If you want to come back to talk
I will look for you, because I say what I feel
I swear to you, I am sincere.

I'm asking you, answer me, lady
Please, do not walk away, baby
Stay by my side
That without you, I cannot stand it anymore.

I want you to forgive me, lady
That you bet on us, baby
That you remember the nice things
Our love is not going to end.

Forgive me, I want to have you again
Even if it's for a single night, one more night
Forgive me, I will not lose you
I'm not planning on leaving you now, you'll return.

I am enjoying watching this show with my cyber buds. I just have to keep reminding myself that it is on at 8.00...not 9.00 when I usually watch a telenovela. I like these actors and actresses. They are doing and excellent job , and the storyline is interesting. I also love the music. I do get up and dance ...good excuse to get in a little exercise. I was reading an article about worry and stress ,and it suggested taking "mini vacations" ...a cup of tea, a tv show, music, a craft, anything that makes you happy...so ...I will now consider caray and telenovelas my mini vacations .

Good plan Susanlynn. And we need to dance whenever possible. One of my students in her early nineties used to dance at home whenever she felt like it. And used to boogie in class too even though it was basically a weight training (light weights of course) and floor work class. Olga was one of those fabulous people who lived until she died. Always full of life, laughter and music.

Ot...judyb...I have always loved music. I always have the radio on the oldies station when I get ready in the morning, and when reclusive moves me, I dance . I need some relief from the last 7 months...Something to get me through the day.

Reclusive????....that was supposed to be "the music"

Exactly Susanlynn. Music is one of the keys to happiness. And I love it when, at a stoplight, I look over and see someone obviously belting out the lyrics to whatever song they're hearing on their car radio. That is somebody making their day work out for them. We do what we can, because the world is not under our control. But we can still sing.

Rgv Chick, thank you so much for translating the lyrics for us!

And after reading it your "I think it is a song that Yameli would have liked Charly to write and sing for her" is exactly that!

Susanlynn and Judy, count me in on loving music. And Judy, yes, I sing in the car. Loudly and badly. I also talk to myself in the car - either a pep talk or ruminating about things I wish I'd said after a tough work day. "We do what we can, because the world is not under our control. But we can still sing". Oh so wonderfully true!

Susanlynn, I am on a "mini vacation". A staycation but I'm taking joy in every little thing I do. I only planned one thing this week - a lunch with two dear friends I don't get to see as often as I'd like. Happy you are dancing! I dance with Juliet my fur daughter, picking her up for a few steps and very slow turns. She seems to enjoy it, but I doubt as much as I do.

Diana

Diana, I hope that you are savoring every single minute of your staycation. Hub and I took many staycations enjoying our patio, reading, listening to music, going to movies, having lunches out at our favorite restaurant, swimming. Sometimes they turn out to be The best and definitely the most relaxing vacations...if you can make yourself do only the most necessary chores. Enjoy, Diana. You deserve a break. You work very hard.

I’m new to the discussion. I’m very interested in this novela. I saw the original which is/was on Netflix. La Reina del Flow/Queen of Flow. The original is out of Colombia and only about a year old. I hope they make changes to the story because so far it’s the same as the original. But we’re just getting started.
