Just got back from book club and still have a basketball game to watch. So no recap from me tonight.
Here's a listing of some of the things that happened in tonight's episode:
Somehow, Zurdo Villa discovers that it's Teresa who is sending out the signal his equipment has picked up. He asks her to come into the house with him.
Paloma tells Ray about falling in love with Juan. "He promised me the world. I was an idiot (gilipollas) to believe him. Once I moved in with him, he started to rape me. And now I'm pregnant with his child." Ray tells her all men are not the same, and he and Paloma go to it.
Cayetana sits on the steps of her house remembering when Teo told her he was going to break off with Teresa, and asking his mother to promise that no matter what, she would not abandon his daughters. Charo tells her there's an important announcement on TV, an assassination. It's the news about Flores and his men who were killed. Cayetana is sure it's Siso who did this.
In the house he has given to Teresa, Zurdo tells her he knows she's the one with the transmitting device. She admits that he's right, she's the one sending the signal. But she's doing it not for betrayal but for survival. And now that she knows him better, she doesn't need to continue. She takes off a bracelet, puts it in a glass, and pours water in the glass. Oleg is watching, and as soon as she puts the water in the glass, he tells Ray to cut the signal.
Genoveva and her father watch Marietta Lancaster interview Epifanio Vargas. Epifanio says that Señora Martinez is his ex-wife, they've been divorced for 15 years, and here are the papers to prove it. He mentions that his ex-wife has a history of mental health problems. He then announces that he's engaged to Genoveva Alcalá. "We're very much in love. Bebita, I love you, and I want all Mexico to know." He tells Marietta that Genoveva will be a great First Lady.
Carmen watches Epifanio on TV and vows revenge. She's also somewhat unhappy that Epifanio's picture is everywhere, and that that her 15 minutes of fame are over.
Zurdo apparently is convinced that Teresa was not trying to betray him, and he now presents her with a second gift, one he bought from someone who probably stole it: a ring found next to Güero Dávila's body when he was killed. Zurdo is sure it will fit Teresa, because Güero undoubtedly intended it for her but didn't have a chance to give it to her. Teresa remembers that Güero had told her he had a surprise for her. She's deeply moved.
Yep, Viewerville was right, Alejandro is gay. His lover is Danilo, who works as a strategist for him. Danilo is unhappy that Ale never has time for him, even though they've been together for 3 years. He's also tired of hiding. Ale says let's do something special, just the two of us. He asks Danilo to meet him on the rooftop of the building at 10 that night. [Oh no!!]
Genoveva's father is very unhappy that Epifanio has announced their engagement and that she's happy about it. He thinks Epifanio will destroy Mexico, and she'll be his accomplice. Papa Alcalá still has hopes that Alejandro will find a nice woman, marry, and run for office. He should be President of Mexico.
Teresa and Zurdo toast to el Güero. Teresa says that Epifanio will pay for what he did. Zurdo tells her that he's funding the candidate that will beat Epi. He won't tell her who this is.
Cayetana testifies in some kind of formal hearing. She claims that Teresa stole DNA evidence to prove Sofia is Teo's child and then came to the house again to blackmail Cayetana and demand a large sum of money, which Cayetana refused to provide because Teresa was a drug dealer and killed Teo.
In the next scene, Sofia tells Lupo that even if she could run away, where would she go if she doesn't want to see her mother.
Juanita, thank you, for your concise and complete recap! It is appreciated.
I somehow had no clue that Alejandro might be gay, so my hat is off to everyone on the patio who suspected it. My question: Is on the rooftop out of the closet? Glad Danilo is pressuring Alejandro.
Ray? I expected that from flighty Paloma. Geez. Oleg has his hands full this time around.
I just wonder if Teresa will start weighing her options on how to get her daughter back and if doing Epifanio’s bidding is the only way. We are barely half way through. There is something likeable about El Zurdo. Too bad he is crazy, dangerous and has too much power and money. But again, that could work to Teresa’s advantage if things start to go south with Epifanio. I don’t know about the whole “ring” thing though. I guess I will just have to take it on face value like Teresa.
blockhead, sounds good !
wow, thanks so much Juanita!
I don't think Cayetana would have a leg to stand on if Teresa hadn't given her the DNA proof.
the fact that Cayetana is going after Sofia, while tossing her other granddaughters against Teo's wishes, pretty much says she is in it to hurt Teresa, Cayetana and Carmen could be twins.
I guess Faustino prefers Mescal.
I think Teresa referred to her transmission as a fake signal, to test Zurdo, we knew she wouldn't be walking barefoot on broken glass, interesting that he takes her off alone to confront her, it's what others think of him that seems to matter most.
interesting shower scene (reminiscent of Santiago's) where Lupo struggles with his demons.
Thanks, Juanita. Riveting recap. Plus you put names to folks I still only know by face. I said it before, I'll say it again. This TN is out of my league without the help of the recaps and comments here.
Can we throw Ray back? I thought he was cute before. But to go off on a boink break while Teresa's life is on the line? I so feel like firing him.
Great to see Teresa working it. Throwing the bracelet in water was such a smooth move. And Oleg getting it and cutting off the signal. Just great.
There were several things I didn't really like about Thursday's episode.
Cat fights--they are a little passe nowadays. It did nothing to move the story along.
The jail scene--why is it that nearly every time one of "our" characters (i.e. more Caucasian looking) is put behind bars, the menacers always seem to be tough characters (i.e. more Indigenous looking). Yesterday was no exception--two skinny upscale women vs. three quite heavy downscale women. Please, give me a break. Just put them in a cell by themselves next time, ok?
Poor Antonio. Still being accused of having a lover, now identified as Julieta. There's nothing he can say that will change his family's thinking. Of course, he'll give up, seek out Julieta and the family will sit around and say See? We were right. I don't even need a script to see that coming.
Viviana annoys me no end. She talks too fast anyway.
When DID we see Eddie steal money from the cash register? Another chop job is in the works, my friends. You are not seeing everything that is happening in this show, to the detriment of the actors and everybody else.
DID Elvis tell Julieta about the kiss Elena planted on him? He says he did. He says Julie was a little put out, but then she understood. More scissor wielding gnomes? Or is he lying to Elton to get him to back off. Wish we knew the truth.
After all this complaining, do you think I'm not liking POQUITO? You're wrong. I'm loving it. I think I said before that I really am enjoying Lorena Herrera as Catalina. In a way, I hope she comes out ok in the end.
So, the Hot Doc has come calling at the Boutique and wonders why it closed early. He gets an earful from Elena and Julie about the cat fight.
Now more than ever, Catty is ready for that divorce.
Thanks so much, Juanita, for the recap. Very concise and well done!
Obviously, even after book club and a basketball game (a DVR to race past commercials helps), I could not resist watching the novela and NOT getting to bed on time!
I was confused by the "false" transmittal device Teresa told Zurdo about. I suppose it somehow meant that, if she were about to be harmed or felt threatened, she could signal...someone? The way she said it made it sound like the device she had wasn't sending a signal anywhere. Oh well. Hats off to Teresa, cool as ice, and working Zurdo perfectly. Good one, deb, about our being pretty sure Teresa would not be "walking on broken glass".
Deb, good point. Zurdo's ego is fragile. He would not want that whole pack of people he'd brought to the party to witness his triumph at having La Reina del Sur as his guest.
I can't figure out how Epifanio could present Marietta Lancaster with divorce papers that showed a divorce 15 years in the past. Even if Carmen failed to notice a date somewhere on what she signed, wouldn't there have to be some stamp or seal from a court?
I was also confused by Zurdo not telling Teresa which candidate he was backing. How many are there? It surely looked like, at that earlier big bash, that Zurdo's guy was the front-runner.
Cayetana surely came up with a pack of lies in that recorded testimony, or whatever it was.
Teresa knew exactly how intelligent and tuned in Oleg is. She had no doubt that when she put that bracelet in the water, he'd cut the signal.
Oleg's cold disgust at Ray and Paloma could have had icicles hanging off their noses. I think they should be sent away from any further action, but I suspect the writers will go with Ray being so mortified he'll be twice as good. The actor has had several meaty roles recently, so I doubt he'll be written out.
blockhead, I'm happy to hear that you're on for tonight's recap. I'm looking forward to it.
Many thanks Jarifa, deb, Niecie, and novelera.
Jarifa, when Alejandro told Danilo to meet him on the rooftop, I thought immediately of the scene with Cayetana's nietas and Juan, and also an unforgettably ominous scene from the superb BBC version of "House of Cards." And thanks for noting the similarity between Francesco's shower scene and the one with Santiago in Reina1. In both cases, YUM!! As for the "ring" thing, I believe Zurdo's story. Teresa's remembering that Güero had mentioned a surprise he had for her adds weight to Zurdo's account. And like Teresa, I was bowled over.
deb, I agree with you that Cayetana would have no case without the DNA report. I think she herself said smugly in an earlier episode that Teresa had shot herself in the foot by giving her the report. And good point about what other people think mattering most to Zurdo.
Niecie, I too was disappointed in Ray for putting sex above surveillance. However, he's very young, and raging hormones are hard to ignore. So I'll give him a pass...this time. Especially since Oleg was on top of things and saved the day. [And believe me, in spite of writing recaps, I miss a LOT and am very grateul for all the comments and other people's recaps.]
novelera, good question about the divorce papers. My guess is that Alejandro created a fake document complete with "official" stamps, etc. And yes, Cayetana told a pack of lies. Sometimes, especially with matters concerning Teo, it's hard to know how many are her deliberate lies, how many are lies that Teo told her, and how much of what she says, she believes.
Regarding the ring, especially since I watched part of the re-run of Reina1 they showed before the sequel began, I remember the heartbreaking scene where El Güero calls Teresa about the surprise, and then opens and takes a look inside the velvet box with the ring inside. This is right before Epifanio's gang opens fire on his plane.
And I definitely believe it's the same ring. Judging by Zurdo's obsession with collecting things, up to and including the suit Pancho Villa was wearing when he was shot, I doubt he'd go for saying it was the ring El Güero bought if it was not. OTOH, if that was Pancho Villa's suit, where are the bullet holes?
I thought the callback to the ring was a very clever touch by the writers.
Teresa and Zurdo are having a drink inside the house. All is well until Zurdo grabs Teresa and kisses her. Sanchez Godoy happens on them and difuses the situation after Teresa slaps Zurdo a good one for taking liberties. Teresa gives him what for and leaves to go meet up with the girls. Zurdo still thinks he has a chance.
Cayetana and Charo talk in the kitchen late at night. Cayetana gets Charo to agree to find out where the girls are so she can send them money (supposedly so they aren't dependent on Teresa). I'm suspicious.
Oleg scolds Paloma and Ray for their shenanigans and tells them he's telling Teresa what happened so she can decide who stays on the crew. Ray wants to take the blame but Oleg says they'll have to wait and see.
As Teresa, La Conejo and Rocio leave the party, Teresa and Zurdo make an uneasy truce. Teresa is grateful for the thoughtful gifts but demands his respect. Sanchez Godoy gives Teresa a hug goodbye and says into her ear that they need to talk. Teresa responds that she needs his help.
Paloma breaks down and calls Charo to vent that she is going crazy cooped up after all that has happened. Charo suggests she resume her studies at university to occupy her mind. Charo suggests she contact the school and send her study materials to where she is. And where are you anyway? Paloma gives her the exact address of the operation.
Oleg gathers the crew to admonish them for being sloppy. He reminds them of the stakes as Paloma wanders in with her phone in her hand. He says everything they're doing must be kept secret. Paloma guiltily won't look him in the eye.
At Kidnap Island Sofia and Lupo are fishing on a dock. A drone appears above them and Sofia starts to yell Help and wave her arms. Lupo is not concerned at all, as Batman appears and reveals that he is the one driving the drone. Sofia is incensed that they tricked her. Batman tells Lupo that Teresa and Zurdo have met and Sheila told him Teresa and Zurdo are getting close. Lupo is visibly getting jealous. Batman takes this opportunity to brag that Sheila was hitting on him, and tell him that Teresa will have this whole thing sewn up soon since she's such an incredible woman.
Jonathan resumes his undercover identity to meet up with Sergio. Jonathan gives him grief for taking so long to deliver the drugs and Sergio tells him he couldn't leave his abuela alone. Manuela can't take care of her as she's in Mexico City working. Sergio agrees to continue selling Jonathan his Adderall.
Willy is at home packing his retirement plaque when Jonathan calls. Jonathan tells him where Manuela is and that he thinks she's following Teresa. Jonathan tells Willy to call Teresa to warn her and also to say Manuela isn't working for them. Willy tells Jonathan he needs more information first and he wants to start working for Teresa. Jonathan is shocked! but agrees.
Epifano arrives at Bebita's father's house in Culiacan. They both saw him on TV with La Lancaster and Epifano is glad since they're up to date. He drops to one knee and proposes to Beba! Dad leaves them alone to talk, and she caves. Dad is hopping mad and tells Beba she can back out at any time.
Back at El Submarino, Ray apologizes. Teresa tells him he's getting another chance. They have another important day tomorrow. Tommorrow they'll commence...Operation Hammock. Ahmed is going to stow away under a truck. Something is happening with Zurdo and trucks. Some kind of drug delivery or transfer?
Lupo and Teresa talk on the phone. He tells her he's in Rome and she asks him to send her a photo of his view. While he's stammering, she tells him it's just a joke. Lupo asks her how things are going with Zurdo. She tells him Zurdo took the bait. (Anybody notice her braid is a fishtail?) She tells him all about what happened and that Zurdo is in love with her. Lupo is squirming but he continues fishing for information.
Sofia is drawing in her room accompanied by Tozzi. Her pencil breaks and Lupo never got her the pencil sharpener she asked for so she goes to the kitchen to get a knife to make a point. Sofia overhears Lupo on the phone with Teresa and makes her way outside. Suddenly she appears behind Lupo, but then runs away. Lupo makes an excuse to get off the phone that his own daughter is there and wants a bedtime story. Sofia is highly upset.
Epifanio and Beba's dad have it out. Beba's dad calls him a drug dealer and Epifanio accuses Dad of being a snob and that he didn't have any help but worked honestly to get what he has. Epifanio leaves and Beba tells her dad she will be Epifanio's wife whether he likes it or not.
Lupo goes to Sofia's room and she tells him she knows he and Teresa are involved. Lupo wants to know what she heard. She accuses him of planning her kidnapping with Teresa and throws him out of her room.
The white haired Colonel from Morocco calls Teresa and he tells her Siso Pernas received a drug shipment from Zurdo Villa and he also killed Comisario Flores. What's more Siso is on his way to Culiacan.
Siso and his henchman are sitting around a fire outside. Siso is notified his plane is ready. Siso tells his men it was a good idea to tap Cayetana's phone. She's found Teresa for them twice now. They drink a toast to the memory of Siso's cousin Xavi and to his father. Siso vows revenge on Teresa.
So, it is Paloma ONE MORE TIME who is incapable of following directions and again has put the operation at risk. She is too immature to be so deeply involved in the operation. She needs somebody to be babysitting her 24/7.
Zurdo sure deserved that slap. Teresa really does need to talk to Godoy ASAP.
Epifanio is such a slime ball.
At least General Chaib could give Teresa a heads up about Siso being on his way.
So when already is Teresa going to catch Francesco in a lie so she becomes suspicious of him? I cannot wait! I was so sorry she didn’t insist on that photo and was only kidding . . .
General Chaib! Thanks! I couldn’t remember his name.
Paloma shouldn’t be allowed to hear anything about their plans if she’s not participating. That was sloppy of Ray to leave while the operation was ongoing.
Zurdo is scary! He is so unstable. If she wasn’t La Reina he probably would have killed her for slapping him. Sanchez Godoy is so good as a go-between. And I love the way he talks! I miss every other word but I get the gist. He and Rocio are cute together.
blockhead, yes, Godoy is sort of challenging to understand but it is one of the things I love about this novela: Spanish dialects from all over. : ) I like that they actually bother to make it realistic.
Zurdo exhibited more patience than I thought he would be capable of. Godoy is truly the buffer here.
One last thing . . .
blockhead, at the start of the season someone had to remind me of the general’s name. LOL
Anita, ITA on all your comments. Poor Antonio can't catch a break: damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. So he might as well, right?
This TN doesn't shy away from a good cachetada, so I'm hoping someone will give Viviana one on the kisser at some point. She is beyond due.
We did not see Eduardo take the money; we just saw him put it back. Unfortunately, so did Beto.
I think Elvis lied to Elton about telling Juli about the kiss. We know that will come back to haunt him -- but please, not at the altar again. We don't need another bodus interruptus.
I am loving POQUITO as well! My favorites are set in the countryside, but the next best is a neighborhood. The actors are a little over the top, but that's typical for a comedy, and they all seem to be having such a good time with their roles, especially Elvis and Catalina. I read an interview with Catalina in which she was saying what a juicy role it is and how excited she is for the opportunity. And Elvis is such a great physical actor; he just fills the screen.
Blockhead, thanks VERY much for this impressive recap. You do a terrific job of capturing everything clearly and concisely. And I love "Kidnap Island." I think I'll use that term from now on.
Paloma drives me nuts! Moreover, I found it somewhat unbelievable that she would know the exact location of where she is.
Like you, I find Sanchez Godoy delightful and almost incomprehensible. Even in Reina1, I despaired every time he spoke, and my understanding of his Spanish hasn't improved in 8 years. Sigh.
Teresa's problems are multiplying quickly. Both Siso and Manuela want to kill her (and both almost succeeded in the past), and both are now in or headed for Mexico. Thanks to Paloma, Siso even has Teresa's address.
Problems are multiplying as well with Sofia. She already is bitter about her mother's being Teresa Mendoza, but now she's also convinced that Lupo and Teresa are novios AND plotted Sofia's kidnapping together. Sofia is now ripe for the plucking by abuela Cayetana.
I loved Papa Alcaná's outrage about Epifanio and Veva's willingness to marry him. He's certainly right about Epifanio, but that makes me wonder who will become president of Mexico. Surely not Epifanio (¡ojalá!). But if I remember correctly, the guy Zurdo Villa is financing is also a slimeball. Is it possible that the next president could turn out to be Papa Alcaná? Or will it turn out that he has just as many skeletons in his closet as the others? And how many skeletons does it take to disqualify someone?
BL--Yes, Elvis is just right for this role. He has found his niche. He was jeered at in VEA, but then that whole tn deserved to be tossed into the cairns of history (I'm preparing for my trip to Scotland, hehe.)
So we got our first genuine kiss between Antonio and Julieta. A little awkward, but it lasts a long time and Julie enjoys it (Telemundo sure knows how to ruin a mood with stupid commercials running for 4 minutes before we get back to the kiss.) She decides it wasn't right and now what is she going to do with these feelings she has. So sad to hear her tell Anty that destiny just isn't on their side. He's now getting a divorce and she's well, she can't quite say it. There was a glimmer of hope for Anty when she said she wasn't getting married--at least not for awhile. Their despedidas always make me choke up. This time he says that when they are together again in the next life, he hopes he can give her all the kisses he couldn't in this life.
The Sandwich Exchange. A little comic relief offered by Elton, who has a few marbles loose, except that Elena nearly choked on the engagement ring meant for Julieta. He told them that Elvis had asked him to arrange a spectacular event and present it when he wasn't there. She did accept it and put it on. Elvis is over the moon when she tells him they can be novios for real. Elena is sad to hear the engagement is back on, after getting up her hopes when Julie told her what a wonderful kisser Anty is and how it sent reverberations through her--she'd never been kissed like that before.
Will She or Won't She? Catalina is in dire financial straits and Hot Doc is not so sure he wants to foot her bills. It was probable that he thought he wouldn't have to maintain her after her divorce settlement. She keeps saying her situation is temporary and she's going to clean out Anty's accounts and leave him in misery. She calls a family dinner and tells everyone she's definitely filing for divorce. The kids all cry (Vivi is the loudest) and Lupita isn't sure this is the right step. He tells everyone Julie had nothing to do with their decision. Catty is between an immovable rock (Anty) and a hard place (Hot Doc) and no money to boot except what she's LOSING at the boutique.
Mateo finds the family a new apartment. Lety is crestfallen. It's so little, not such a good neighborhood, what will her friends think. Mateo tries a little reality game with her. It's what they can AFFORD, y punto. He and the twins clean up the new place and fix it up and presented to Lety. She genuinely smiles at the transformation and praises Mateo and the kids, but then she ruins it all by telling Mateo to get working so they can move on up as soon as possible.
Oh, Muggers Paradise. They not only beat Anty up, they steal his car. Fortunately he's fairly close to Julie's house and they didn't steal his cell phone. She comes. G A P in continuity. Next thing we see Julie is taking care of him and a strange lady brings the first aid kit. Later we learn that in order not to raise eyebrows, she took him to the Children's Home. The kiss takes place in the garden. Julie was going to take him home, but after the kiss, she just can't and calls a taxi.
blockhead, that was an amazing recap, capturing details that I had missed, like the name of the stripjoint, El Submarino.
love "Kidnap Island".
and yes, Cayetana was tricking Charo into getting Teresa's location.
"operation hammock", so is Ahmed going to ride under a truck in a hammock, and this would be for Zurdo's drug shipment ?? we'll see.
interesting conversation between Lupo and Teresa, (not sure when Teresa decided to confide in him all about her Zurdo operation, so unlike her) when she asked for a pic, I expected him to take one of that beautiful moon, and Lupo is so good, NOT, at hiding his inner self, does he really expect him, Teresa, and Sofia to end up as one happy family? but the best part is when Teresa tells him Zurdo loves her, and when a man is blindly in love they are prone to mistakes, did you hear that Lupo, as later, Sofia is standing right there.
but Teresa stopped short of mentioning the ring.
so Willy is holding back telling Teresa about Manuela?
I'm guessing the governor's house is also in Culiacán, capital of Sinaloa.
as the Mexicans toast with those double shot glasses, Siso and the boys toast with wine glasses.
Terrific recap, blockhead! Thanks so much.
I can't believe all the things that happen, and quickly, in this novela. It just races along. Let me add my complete disdain for Paloma.
And Cayetana just completely played poor Charo. Charo thinks she's going to send money to her granddaughters in Mexico, but it was just a ploy to get their address in Mexico. Charo had a grateful smile at thinking her boss was not so bad after all, even after the slap.
Teresa is right in what she told Lupo. Zurdo is an egomaniac. She didn't add narcissistic personality disorder, but I would. He managed to get over the slap, but he told Sánchez Godoy that he knew Mexican women. They are tough at first, but... The gist that I got was that he thinks he'll have her eating out of his hand. Ha!
Sergio said that his auntie was in Mexico. I don't think he said Mexico City. She could be in Culiacán like the whole cast! I am SO darkly suspicious of Erick Sheldon, played by Eric Roberts. For one thing, Roberts nearly always plays a scumbag. And I believe he has something going on with Manuela, a side operation from the DEA.
So heartbreaking that Sofía now thinks her mother and Lupo onspired to have her kidnapped. She's already found out her mother's true identity and that she killed her father. Now she thinks her mother was involved in that whole horrible ordeal of being snatched from a parade in Italy, stuffed into a trunk, and put in a cage in a plane.
That was a big reveal, that Siso somehow could intercept Cayetana's calls. Well, Siso is going up against Oleg, so there's that.
And, it appears that Cayetana thinks she'll be able to find Sofía by Teresa's side and take custody of her. Well, good luck with that. Teresa has no idea where her daughter is.
Did someone say that El Submarino was a strip club? So far I've only seen it be a bar as a cover for Operation Zurdo Villa.
Somehow Ahmed is going to be in a hammock underneath a truck. But where? It seems likely to be near or right at that place where Zurdo has a big delivery arriving, I think from Colombia - Sánchez Godoy. That's as much as I can figure out. When Oleg heard about the place of arrival, I thought he was going to dynamite the drugs or some such, to put a crimp in Zurdo's operation, just like Epifanio wants. But...hammock...?
Thanks for the comments on the recap! I feel like the Lupo situation is gonna crack soon. Lupo can’t handle hearing about Zurdo with Teresa and it’s only going to get worse. He tries to be a friend to Sofia and it just can’t be. He may believe his own fantasy that the three of them can be a family but that will never happen once Teresa finds out he’s the kidnapper. You thought Teo got a raw deal for wanting to sell her out, wait til she finds out he had her daughter all along!
Oh, and Teresa is so quick with the lies...impressive! She hid the real transmitter AND what the second gift from Zurdo was!
Lupo has told Teresa he has two daughters in Italy. Is there any chance this is true? Why would he bother to lie about having children?
Thank you, blockhead.
I think nobody believes that Cayetana got Paloma / Treesa's address to send some money, or to send Paloma's academic records. How can Paloma even believe this? She is in Mexico under false identity, what good is Paloma Aljarafe record? I even thought Cayetana told Siso and that is why they knew.
Teresa - Lupo phone call happened in the evening in Mexico. Sofia was still up, drawing. Italy is 7 hours ahead of Mexico. 9pm + 7 = 4am. Lupo's daughter asking to read her a story before going to bed?!
I hope Beba won't just take what she is fed and do some more investigation. For example, why not talk to Jimena to get another side of the story?
Lucio, that's such an interesting point about the time zones! I wonder whether Teresa will suddenly realize how unlikely it would be for a young girl to ask for a bedtime story before going to bed at 4 a.m. Then again, her feelings for Francesco may cause her to make mistakes.
Thanks, Lucio, for spelling out the time difference. I didn't think about bedtime story being off. What I did think was that it was dark in Mexico, and he was supposed to be in Rome. I didn't do the math, but I thought even taking a picture of the body of water would have shown the wrong time of day.
Lucio, thanks for the observation on the time. I wonder if the writers did it on purpose or made a mistake . . .
A few episodes ago when Zurdo told Teresa he is funding another presidential candidate and she asked who that is, I half expected him to say “Don’t you read the papers?” She apparently doesn’t know who’s running for president! OK there may be more than one, but still.
Novelera— I don’t think Lupo has two daughters or an ex wife. Just my opinion but I think he just said he has daughters to make him seem safer. I don’t tend to believe that he was an orphan either.
Anita, I think Hot Doc is out of the picture. Which is too bad, because how else will Cata's family find out that she's a pot calling the kettle black? Not that Antonio is blameless, just a lot less blameworthy.
I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea that we're supposed to be rooting for a MARRIED guy who is still LIVING with his wife to have a happily ever after with another gal, but I'm trying not to take it too seriously. Still. Kinda ick.
Thanks, blockhead. Terrific recap.
So sad that Sofia now believes Teresa is in on the kidnapping. She's a smart girl so I hope she rethinks this soon.
Don't know why but I did believe Lupo back when he said he had two daughters. The old saying goes that a good liar tells just enough of the truth to make a lie believable. Maybe one daughter and an ex girlfriend instead of two daughters and an ex wife?
2 daughters + Teresa pregnant = Teo2
I guess we should keep in mind Lupo has done his homework and knows all there is to know about Teresa and Sofia, and is totally playing them, but... his good side seems to be peeking through his traumatic past and his "nothing here" tattoo over his heart.
