Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Miercoles 6/12/19 Episode 63: See You in Court, Part III

Scenes combined where it made sense to do so.

Mexico City: Jaime explained to Paula that he felt the same pain as she when thinking of Alejandra. They needed to get strength from each other.

Manuel and Lorenza worked late that night. Roberto found them in the library and reminded them about Juan's party the next evening. Manuel noticed that Roberto seemed a little out of sorts and suggested they go for a drink. Roberto agreed and said to meet him in reception.

Adrián and Victoria dined in a Spanish restaurant and a waiter poured some rioja for them. They talked about her studies and how nervous she was when the test approached. She told him she wanted to be able to practice in every US state. He was impressed and said to count on him for any help.

Los Cabos: Sofia and Ricardo dined at another beautiful outdoor restaurant and talked about having to visit every clinic in the area in order to find the doctor that helped Ana. This would take a while because they might have to talk with every employee at each one in order to accomplish this and it would be difficult to do this without disclosing the nature of what they were looking for.

Mexico City: A fat man with a beard entered El Ciego's lair. El Ciego had him sit down for a drink. He put a stack of bills three inches thick in front of him. He named three locations where El Gringo's next shipments of drugs were coming, which would be in the early hours of the morning. El Ciego handed him the money and he got up to leave. He turned to look at El Ciego, who shot him squarely in the chest. El Chivo looked apprehensive.

At the bar Roberto advised Manuel to pretend that Lorena was of no importance to him. It was how to remain in control. He went on about moving on to other things as he indicated a couple of attractive women at a table. Manuel knew that Roberto was advising what he was already doing. Roberto went to the table and opened with his standard pitch.

As El Chivo and El Cuervo prepped the body El Ciego took a call from someone he addressed as “Mi jefecita chula”. This seemed to put him in a good mood, but it was brief. He ended the call and El Cuervo asked him about what they were doing with the body. He replied that he didn't like traitors, which made El Chivo look up. He returned to the table and to another statement from El Ciego that he doesn't tolerate traitors and that now they will be able to get El Gringo's stuff.

Susanna finished cleaning the house just as Juan arrived. She hadn't started cooking, but said she would buy everything in the morning. He offered to drive her but she told him just to worry about the drinks and ice. She would take care of the food. He said “This is just the beginning. We need better stuff” and she looked worried and a little angry because she reminded him again that life isn't about things.

Los Cabos: The next morning Ricardo and Sofia went to the first clinic and hit a brick wall; they would not release confidential information. They showed their business cards and were still turned down. Sofia said that a person's life depended on this. They gave the patient's name and the nurse looked through the records. This was not the place.

Mexico City: El Gringo was stitting down doing accounts when one of his goons came in to tell him that El Ciego killed La Bestia. It was meant as a message. El Gringo didn't care. He ordered the man to fetch El Chivo.

Los Cabos: At the next clinic Ricardo and Sofia arrived as a doctor headed toward Emergency. The nurse would not give them information but suggested they talk to the doctor when he finished with his patient. They sat down to wait.

Mexico City: Javier worked at his computer, looking up firearms and comparing bullets found at a crime scene. He matched the bullets to the ones at the restaurant shooting.

Los Cabos: The doctor confirmed that Ana Morales had been a patient there but only to request information. He sidestepped their other questions. Ricardo watched him carefully and then thanked him before he and Sofia left. Later, Ricardo and Sofia had a creep vibe about what they were not told at the clinic.

Mexico City: Juan and Susanna talked about the party. He headed out to buy ice and drinks and he would take her food shopping when he got back.

Los Cabos: The doctor – his name is Moises – spoke with Ana on the phone. She told him that her case was under way and soon she would have the money. He told her that two lawyers came to see him and were asking questions. She was so sure of herself because of the DNA results but he told her that if this goes to court and Fabián's lawyers can prove what happened he could lose his clinic and his license. The arrogant bitch told him she was calling her lawyers and that because the child is Fabián's she has every right to what she was demanding for herself and her child.

Mexico City: Carlos and Alan had a brief conversation; their disagreement appears to have ended. Alan said he would get back to work. Carlos called Michelle to see her again. He smiled as the call ended.

El Gringo called Michelle and told her she was not doing her job. She told him off, saying that if he does things impulsively and things go south it's his fault. [Since he addressed her as “hermanita,” they must be brother and sister.]

Quiróz and Ignacio (his right-hand man) were talking about the organized crime situation, but the third cop in the room was the one Nancy had been bribing and boinking. Javier arrived to tell Quiróz what he found out and to ask who the hell El Gringo was.

Jaime brought Paula breakfast in bed but she said she wasn't hungry. He managed to get her to get up but she still looked as though she was not going to eat.

Quiróz dismissed Hereta (? The dirty cop) and continued talking about the latest shooting, which involved similar weapons. Ignacio said that this isn't necessarily connected to the attacks on the Vega lawyers. This was frustrating to Javier, who told them they needed his kind of help.

Los Cabos: Sofia and Ricardo found Ana Morales. Sofia got into her face, pointing out that her client is a married man. The predatory bitch wouldn't talk without her lawyer present and would not let them in, saying they had no right to be at her place. She turned her back on them. Ricardo did not give up. He said he knew that there had been no relationship between her and Fabián. She replied that this is what all men say. They laid their cards out, revealing that they knew what she had done. Sofia told her that they were there to try to work something out but when this goes before a judge and he realizes what she had done this will go badly for her. Ricardo told her that when her deception is revealed she will be made to pay. She denied that and accused them of threatening her. “But no,” she said. “I'm going to win.” She gave them a look that was dripping blood. Sofia was not ruffled by this, saying “We'll see you in court.” The bitch walked off, laughing at them. [This better not be the case they lose.]

Juan stopped by Roberto's office to make sure he was coming to the party. Also to thank him for the help that led to this.

Carlos handed the documents of incorporation to Michelle, telling her to call hm if she needed anything else. She said the only thing wrong is now she had no pretext to see him anymore. They made a dinner date for later that evening.

Ricardo and Sofia went to Fabián to update him. They needed to get a court order for the security tapes for both clinics to determine when Ana had been there and for how long. They talked about this on the way out from meeting with their client. [They should also have asked about telephone records.]

Javier went to the police station to see Garcia about a ballistics report. He said that all he was looking to do was to corroborate some information. Garcia said he could not take the report with him or make copies. He showed him the file.

Nancy and her informant met outside. He told her about the body and the message to El Gringo, which meant possible drug warfare. He also told her that the Vega firm was interested in this situation and identified Javier. She told him she would pay him well for this information.

Mexico City: Fernanda came over to see Juan and Susanna's new home and sensed that all was not alright with Susanna. She told Fernanda that Juan would be home soon and they would be entertaining his colleagues. Fernanda decided to leave. When she opened the door Juan had just arrived with Tatiana, who was wearing a bright red dress.

I don't think they'll have much work for Vicky in, say, North Dakota. She might want to slow down.

Thanks for grabbing the names of the Dead Noun and Nancy's Biscuit. I never catch them unless they're in the subtitles.

I was wondering how they were going to bring Fer and Tat F2F...looking forward to further developments!

It was after 1 am when I watched this episode. After zzz-ing out and having to rewind a lot, I forced myself to finish, even knowing there would be a great recap to read today. Thanks, Urban.

Haha regarding N.D., Blue Lass. You're right, but I'm surprised at the numbers of growing immigrant communities from warm or hot climates in cold northern states--and welcomed. There must be jobs there somewhere.

UA, you nailed all the highlights and the lowlights. I really did not anticipate El Ciego dispatching Dead Noun in cold blood like that. I think he was on the phone with Michelle, she's the only "she" pronoun in the narco business we are aware of.

The instant I saw Ric and Sofie talking to the doc, I knew he was the guy. Well, there are no surprises left, except the outcome of the trial. Vega MUST win, or else there won't be anything for R & S to celebrate. Interesting note--she doesn't seem to be worried about Camila any more--no anxious phone calls, no worrying her pretty little head...she's focused on the case--as she told Ric over their earlier dinner.

I think El Ciego once mentioned being married. I don't know if he knows Michelle, but I doubt it. Her name hasn't come up in any of his conversations nor has his in hers, at least not that I can remember.

I had made a mistake earlier about that nasty receptionist and where she really works; this will be corrected tonight and in Tuesday's recap. And the truth about this makes a little more sense.

More later.

Now you have me on pins and needles.

It's no biggie, really. The bitchy receptionist works in the courthouse. I think she probably envies female lawyers AND Sofia being from the capital only compounds that.

Quiróz and Ignacio (his right-hand man) were talking about the organized crime situation, but the third cop in the room was the one Nancy had been bribing and boinking.

Love your efficient way of giving background UA. I imagine the one who will eventually bring down Carlos will be our dear Nancy. She can't possibly be happy with the way his relationship with Michelle is headed.

Thanks for another great recap.

Oh, she definitely isn't. Especially if she finds out that Michelle is El Gringo's sister.

Just caught up on last night's epi. I see Lorena got the memo on side-boob.
