Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Miercoles 7/10/19 Episode 79: Revelations 24-7

Scenes combined where it made sense to do so.

Mexico City: El Chulo told Alan that he needed to get used to this as he continued beating the living daylights out of him. Alan fell to the floor, bleeding from the mouth and facial injuries. The same guard who had eavesdropped on him before arrived and told him that this was because he wasn't obeying the rules of the cellblock. The other prisoners continued to kick Alan; the guard did nothing to stop them.

Gustavo calmed down and apologized to Lorena. She told him that although she could only imagine his pain she wanted to help. He said not to get involved because everything goes rotten when he loves or cares about someone. His life was his work and his family and they were killed, like Alejandra. Lorena replied that this will change when the killers are caught. He had to be patient. He asked “And when will that be?”

Whatever happened in the sheets was seriously good for Carlos and Michelle agreed, saying she felt like she had known him a long time [although I am questioning her sincerity until evidence can prove it]. They looked like they were going for a second round.

The corrupt guard looked at Alan and said he was alive; he was still breathing. He instructed El Chulo to put him in his cell.

The following morning Juan gave his mother a gift, a bracelet. He didn't want her to be angry with him. She told him it wasn't about the watch. It was that she wanted him to start saving. Money was for avoiding future problems. The bracelet wasn't necessary. He agreed and promised he would start saving.

As Alonso was dressing for the office Lourdes told him she was going to see Paula, who almost wasn't leaving the house. She had been that way ever since Alejandra died. Alonso said that this was normal and would take time and Paula had her and Jaime to help. Things would improve when the criminals were caught.

Susanna put the bracelet back in the box, telling Juan she didn't want to wear it to the market because she was afraid she would lose it. She didn't want him to buy her any more gifts, only to be the same person he had always been. That was more important than any material things. She did the maternal blessing before he left for the office.

Michelle woke up before Carlos and dressed carefully so as not to wake him. She put on his discarded shirt and began searching his dresser drawers. In the top one she found the money he had previously hidden in his office safe. He woke up and shouted “What are you doing?” [Since she had removed the pyjamas that were on top of them he had caught her red-handed].

Roberto and Nicolás finished breakfast and Nicolás told Roberto he would be spending the day with Camila. Roberto thought that a great thing, since Sofia had no other family to help. The firm was accommodating her as well. Nicolás asked him about Victoria only to get a joke followed by a status quo statement and the fact that she wasn't yet back from Boston. He did talk about the mysterious phone call Adrián got back in New York and now he had gotten a call from someone named Debbie. He had no idea who this was but he said he wasn't going to allow Adrián to hurt Victoria.

Michelle had the reflexes of an international spy. She apologized for waking him us and said that she had a splitting headache and was looking for pills. She slipped the clothes back into the drawer and closed it, talking about having been so tired and not having slept, etc. He motioned for her to come back to bed and told her not to worry; he didn't mind her waking him up. He opened the nightstand and took out two bottles of pills, explaining that one was stronger than the other. Then he got up to shower. [The look on her face answered my previous call for evidence.]

Sofia made sure that Camila took her pills. She recorded this as Marcela arrived and she told her what was on the day's agenda. She got ready to leave and told Camila she wanted to talk to her later. Camila kept asking her what about, but Sofia did not say. [Here is a lesson learned.]

Alan was in the infirmary with significant head trauma, broken ribs, and other internal injuries. The guard told him that this always happens to lawyers who end up in prison; that he had found him in this condition and that he was investigating. The doctor said he would inform his family.

Carlos and Michelle sat down to breakfast; she complimented him on his cooking. He said that she deserved to be treated like a queen and he felt bad for all the men who would not be at her side. Finally, he said that with all he has dealt with recently, he felt at peace with her. She said she felt that with him, too. They kissed and were rudely interrupted by Carlos' cell. He answered. He faked a reaction at what he was told. After he ended the call he told her that Alan had been beaten up in jail. [His expression told us that he knew this was going to happen.]
Ricardo visited Sofia in her office and told her about the victory. She was happy for him and Victoria. She told him about how things were going with her mother. Things were alright for the moment but she didn't know how to talk to her anymore.

Michelle started for the bathroom and asked Carlos if he was alright. He said he was. She left the room and his phone rang. It was El Ciego. Carlos told him that he was just to beat him up, not put him near death. He did not see Michelle standing in the doorway.

Monterey: Two men sat at a café table waiting for their sister, Maite, so they could discuss the family business. It was not doing well, they told her. One said that there was someone who might be able to help them. They were looking to sell and split the money three ways. She wasn't sure she wanted this.

Mexico City: Sofia had also been thinking about the power of attorney. It was very difficult to face this. Ricardo told her that the day he signed his divorce papers was also difficult, but it needed to be done. It was normal to feel this way. He said to wait until she was sure of herself. She said that the problem was that with this disease one can't predict how long the lucidity to make decisions would last. He told her to count on him. [Alonso advised to get this done ASAP; don't dither about it.]

Monterey: Maite's brothers (the one with the great hair is named Ernesto) tried to get her to sign a power of attorney for them to act on her behalf in the sale of the business. She was not sure that this would have been what their father wanted and they tried to say that it was the best thing they could do.
They tried to get her to sign it before reading it. She would not do that. She wanted to take it home and read it thoroughly first. Ernesto made some remarks about this being over her head but she snapped back with how their father wouldn't have signed something he hadn't read. She took the folder with her and left.

Mexico City: Roberto commented to Victoria that she returned more beautiful than she had been before. She thanked him and said that it did her good to be away. He complimented her smile [Ugh!] and asked about the case. He was happy for her good news about winning the case and the client being able to return to the US and his family. They hugged until she said that this was a little strange. He said he had missed her. He should not have asked whether she had missed him because she told him he was dreaming.

Gustavo told Ricardo about the discovery of the dead body and the failure of evidence to connect him to El Gringo or any other cartel. They were stuck in neutral. Ricard told him he was going to talk to Javier and reminded him that they needed to keep level heads and not act on impulse.

Roberto updated Victoria on the situations with his parents. He was still unsure of his own feelings. He asked her to dine with him so they could talk. She turned him down, saying she had too many things to do. When she talked to Adrián she told him that she hoped to get licensed in other states as well. He was excited for her about that. He asked her out to dine and told her that there was something he wanted to tell her. Her hinky meter seemed to turn on.

Gustavo updated Ricardo about Alan and Carlos and why Alan murdered Téllez. Carlos had come to them about this. They were handling the release of Pedro. Ricardo concluded that Carlos must have something to hide.

Javier went back to the milquetoast forensic man to further browbeat him over the lack of evidence. The response was that there were many other cases to handle. Javier wasn't taking him seriously. It was impossible for there to not be evidence in a crime scene. Either his subordinates were incompetent or taking bribes. He finally threw the papers on the floor and gave up.

Ricardo and Victoria handed Diego a copy of the judge's decision and the papers Kate had filed, saying that he could go back to the US without a problem. Diego thanked they profusely.

Manuel found Lorena looking at the crime scene photos of Gustavo's family. She got very upset at what she saw. He told her that there was nothing she could do about this and made her promise that she would not get involved for her own safety. She promised him.

Roberto was out in reception when a young woman stepped off the elevator looking for Adrián. He told her he didn't know whether he was in or available but he could help her. She thanked him but preferred to talk to Adrián.

Who was lunching with Victoria in a fine restaurant. Victoria described the case and how nervous she was because it was in Federal Court. She had gotten lucky because of the judge assigned to the case. Adrián told her it wasn't luck; she was prepared and the judge was smart. She said she was very satisfied with the outcome. Then she said “I've talked too much. How about you? What did you want to talk about?” He started to say that it was important and that he was always honest with her and he hoped that this would not change their relationship.

At that very moment the woman in reception told Roberto that she was Debbie... Adrián's wife.

Thanks UA!

Adrian has some splaining to do. Victoria might not believe Roberto so she’ll have to have a talk with Adrian. Roberto may have his chance now.

Some sneaky players in this game. Michelle better be careful and hopefully Javier can use his brain and realize what’s really going on.

Definitely an episode worth watching closely. Thanks for the detailed recap, Urban.

So, those who were suspicious of Adrian all along seem to be on the right track. He's been hiding something. Can't wait to find out his backstory now and figuring out what he's going to tell Vic. [Alternate title to the comment: On the Road--back to Bobby.]

I suspect that Victoria will go back to Square 1 in her refusal to fall in love. Carlos will be there, too, when he finds out about Michelle. However, he will have bigger things to worry about.

The three siblings are going to be at war; this much is obvious.

Is this for Miércoles or Lunes? I'm just confused, as usual.

Urban, I'm going to miss Christopher and Candice when this is over. Based on her eyes, Candice looks like she has had several plastic surgeries.

Will Sonia think the greater good will be served by hitting Alan with a more lenient sentence in order to nail the really corrupt guy here—Carlos, who is complicit in so many evil things?

Since "Pasión" days, I love seeing Alberto Estrella in anything.

Wouldn't we all love to have a nice, accommodating cousin like Diego has, one that doesn't mind taking us in and providing for us at the flip of a coin? Man, my brother and sister aren't even that accommodating.

I can't get Michelle's game either, nor Lucia's, nor Nancy's. The writers are doing a good job here.

Standoffish Javier hooking up with Nancy is unbelievable.

Did we ever hear what Victoria's past love history was to make her shy away from a relationship? I don't know what y'all think, but Victoria flirts so well and so seductively. I love the way she smiles when doing so.

Roberto is seasoned enough about women—except his mother—that he can give Juan good advice re Tatiana. Do you think Juan will listen and be more cautious?

Do cartels really favor only a few types of weapons?

If they're really in Boston, it's nice to see scenes being shot outside Mexico. In "Teresa", Arturo and Teresa had great love scenes filmed in Paris.

Anita,
Thank goodness I haven't seen Al Tomassi playing an antagonist yet. I loved his wonderful role in "Pasión". As you can tell, I did love that novela and all Carla Estrada's telenovelas. She should have been rewarding for her trilogy: Alborada, Amor Real✓✓✓, and Pasión. No one can beat her.

Man, I'm really going to miss this novela when it's over. It's such a nice, drastic change from your typical telenovela, excluding narco ones. I don't remember seeing a priest yet.

Thanks, Urban.

I had figured Adrian for a straight shooter. Color me surprised. Maybe he and the wife are on a trial separation, but still he should've said something sooner.

So Lorena has to look at the horrible photos of Gustavo's murdered wife and child to get the misery that he's in? Such a silly girl.

For lying to Ale and using Nancy, not to mention having Vicki on the board of his dirty foundation, Carlos is getting exactly what he deserves with Michelle. She likes him but, hey, business is business.

The only priests we see anymore are conducting funerals and weddings. Thanks to the scandals that began 25 years ago I think the world is going to become more secular and I have no problem with that.

We did start seeing shrinks for a while and I think that if PASL has a third season they should add a shrink or two to the regular list of characters.

Tonight's recap might be a late. I'm going out to Bingo later and it's hot and sticky here.

For Alejandro Tomassi as a super-slimy villain AND a Alexis Ayala as a fabulous priest character, look no farther than CORAZON QUE MIENTE, an undersung hit from last summer. Only about 6 of us watched it, but we all had a very good time.

Detail recap Urban.

Jaun won't be able to save any money while Hangin around mooch #2. Mooch #1 is on the daytime tn.

Carlos is getting more n more tangled
In his web. He'll choke to death if Nancy Or Michelle kill do it to him first.

More cibbling rivalry. Bros against sis. That won't end well.

That urban.

Well, as I see it and not being a lawyer, Alan's crime involved only two murders (Patricia and Téllez) and the erroneous, but satisfying) jailing of his cousin, Carlos.

Carlos deserved to be locked up anyway for cheating so blatantly on Ale (on their wedding night nonetheless). His association with El Ciego eventually lead to her father's kidnapping, and ultimately, her own death. Plus, the shady paperwork at his law firm and shady dealings with clients should be prosecutable. If I remember correctly, he was the one responsible for Alejandra's shooting at the restaurant with El Ciego; and her subsequent death, because he used information that Ricardo gave him in a moment of anger. So now Carlos has a new "thigh hopper", Michelle, and his sick love for Alejandra is out the window.

Carlos crossed the line way back when. At a minimum, Carlos is associated with:
(1) a known narco-traficante and mass murderer (El Ciego); (2) he defended all El Ciego's murdering delinquents while they were in jail. If I'm not mistaken, I think Sonia picked up on this but not Vega & Ass.;
(3) he also defended neighborhood vigilantes hired by El Ciego;
(4) El Ciego, a client who let it be known, without any qualms, shame, or shyness, that he wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone for any reason whatsoever;
(5) And same client was responsible for Alejandra's death.

IMO, Sonia should make a deal with Alan, the lesser of two evils IMO, and lock Carlos up real good, where hopefully, a jail mate will bash his pretty face in and turn "pretty boy" into something less than pleasing to the eye. I've never like JG's looks since 'Acorralada'. However, he was a believable bi-sexual in 'Sortilegio'

O/T and gossip so feel free to ignore.

After the success of 'Amar A Muerte' and the difficulty in extending the novela beyond Season 1, since AB is killed off, the producers have plans to spin-off a second series concentrating on Valentina and Juliana's love affair.

Does anyone know the best way to encourage Televisa to produce a second season of PASL??
